Will You Do This... & more comments
In this episode, Trevor responds to some honest questions about baptism, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and what it really means to make Jesus Lord of your life. Looking at passages like Mark 16, Romans 10, Acts 2, and Acts 10, he talks through why baptism matters deeply while also asking an important question: does the grace of God stop when someone physically cannot get to the water? From there, the conversation turns toward something just as practical: what are you doing with the life God has given you right where you are?
Through the stories of Hur, Bezalel, and Ebed-Melech, Trevor looks at three often overlooked pictures of faithfulness. Hur helped hold Moses’ arms up when he could not keep going. Bezalel used Spirit-filled creativity to build something that pointed people toward God. Ebed-Melech helped pull Jeremiah out of the pit while still protecting his dignity in the process. You may not be able to change everything about your circumstances, but you can encourage somebody, create something meaningful, care for someone who is hurting, and surround yourself with people who sharpen your faith. Wherever you are today, ask God a simple prayer: “Bring good people into my life, and help me become one of those people for somebody else.”

So man, thank you for sending that in as well. A little champion church. We exist to help you champion every season of your life. Um, trouble trip. Well, I do a lot of that. I do get in trouble a lot. Uh, thank you so much. Uh, candy man sent that in. Thank you. Uh, and then, um, who sent me this one? Uh, Wayne sent me this one, man. There's really cool bow hunting and fishing and all that. Uh, I'm actually going to try. I've not literally had a, I took time off from work to fly out to Missouri. Uh, and y'all, y'all got your, you know, it was y'all, y'all, y'all put old Trev to work. For sure. Uh, I was exhausted, absolutely exhausted. I did not anticipate to be that tired to coming back. Uh, and then got back and worked literally soon. I landed, I was at work by 1 PM on Saturday, uh, back here in Florida. And then we had church Sunday, which was, we had a lot of good stuff happening. Um, and then I was, I was back to my normal paying job on Monday. And then I'm filming this on Wednesday, but I'm thinking. I'm going to try to go fishing here in a minute with my son. Uh, I've missed all of them. And, um, so I'm gonna try to do some of that this afternoon if we can. All right. What else we got here? Oh yeah.
This was a cool one sent in by a Sean Lester out there in, uh, uh, where's this Welch West Virginia and Steven's correctional unit sent me a little paddle, a little, or, uh, why? Cause we're rowing together, man. We're rowing together. I thought this was really cool. Thank you so much for your letter and for sending that as well. Where am I going to put this? Maybe I'll set it right up there. All right. Uh, last episode, I responded to some comments and I'm going to teach today. I'm gonna teach this new study I've been doing. Um, but, but I, uh, I want to respond. Where'd I put that at? Here we go. My last, last episode in the studio responded to comments. Um, I got another one on baptism. This guy's Zachary. He commented. And you know what? Here's what I love about how Zachary commented and, uh, kind of questioned me on the baptism stuff. You know what? He was respectful. We can all disagree, but can we be respectful? That's the thing. That's the problem. Most people don't know how to be respectful and disagreeing. So they wonder why nobody can hear them. Like it's not rocket science people.
Like I'm not some, like, like, uh, you know, psychologists of like, here's how you talk to people. You just be kind with people and say, this is my viewpoint. What do you think about that? The guy beforehand, his saying was he was passionate, but then the passion turned into damning everybody else. And we can't do that. And then, you know, one of the things I want to make sure that I am clear on, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, go back and watch the episode called responding to comments and wilderness. Okay. So you see, I, I respond to comments there. One of the things I said that he said was the only, uh, ministry preaching truth is Jesus Christ ministries. I want to make sure I'm like, I have nothing against Jesus Christ ministries. I think from what I've heard, they're doing great stuff. They might have a different method from what I've heard. I've never watched their stuff. So again, this is secondhand knowledge. I don't know, but if you're, if the name is Jesus Christ ministries, I've got to automatically like you. Cause you probably think the same way. I do that. Jesus is the only way to the father. Now I'm a Christian. I'm a disciple of Christ. So I believe that, right? Like that's, that's, that's the truth that I hold within my heart. Okay. Now it's, even if I disagree with you on that doesn't mean I'm
not going to be nice or whatever. So I just want to say this to make sure it's clear. Um, I have nothing against Jesus Christ ministries whatsoever, or any heat with them or any of that, or beef with them or whatever. I think it's great. This guy just said they were the only ones teaching stuff that wasn't damnable lies. I'm like, well, hold on, buddy. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Um, so that, that's, that was all I was going to say. So this other guy, he brings it up as well. And we'll just go and answer it. Let's just go and answer it. Let's just go and respond to comments right now. So he gave, um, I'm not going to go through the whole thing for sake of time, cause I've already rambled and just say thank you for everybody. Who was great. But he gave some, like some scriptures of like, no, you have to be baptized to be saved. Like that was the big disagreement is you have to be baptized to be saved. And so on the flight back from Missouri, I actually spent a good amount of time reading what you wrote and going to the scriptures. And I wrote some things down, but honestly, I don't even actually wrote a three page response because sometimes that helps me like respond, uh, of, of defending my stance that baptism is not going to keep you out of heaven. Now here's please, please, please hear what I'm about to say. If someone gives their life to Christ, let's go to Romans 10. Let's just, let's just go to Romans chapter 10. If I could, I would literally just respond to questions as the entire show, but I don't think we have enough.
And I don't know, maybe we'll get to that point. When I was in Boonville, we did a little Q&A and had some great questions, man. Eric kicked it off with some questions like, where am I at on once saved, always saved? We talked about the Sabbath, we talked about different judgments, and I just love that stuff. Not that I think I've got it all figured out, it's just my perspective of walking with Jesus and what I've learned. And here's what I love. When I go to Scripture, if somebody questions me on this, please know this, if somebody questions me on anything in Scripture, I go there not to prove I'm right. I go there with an open heart of like, Holy Spirit, do you want to show me something? Holy Spirit, am I wrong in something? Holy Spirit, is there something else I need to see? I never go to Scripture and like, well, I'm just going to defend what I do. Here's why, because that's called arrogance. Let me say it in our church, that's called being a jerk. That's called not being able to receive correction. If you are a disciple of Christ and you haven't admitted you have been wrong in the last little bit of time, let's just say in the last, I don't know, let's just say in the last month, you have not admitted, hey, I was wrong in this, or I messed this up, or I did this, then I have a major problem. Like roll the red flag up the pole because something is off. But if I'm always keeping a humble spirit before the Lord, and I'm always trying to learn, not that I'm being tossed by different doctrines, but Christians are like, this is what I believe, this is it, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, or I don't know what that noise is. You know, like, then I have a problem with that because I don't feel like that's what the disciples were like. When they had that issue, Jesus quickly corrected them and said, you don't know the type of spirit that you are.
Remember, at one point they went to call down fire because people aren't receiving the word from Jesus. And he goes, you don't realize what type of spirit you are from, which tells me this, sometimes we can think we are so right, myself included. But if I don't go to scripture with a humble heart of like, Lord, just teach me, you can get caught up in being deceived and you can get caught up in pride, what I call like righteous pride, thinking I am right with the wrong heart. And I say this because I have done it. It wasn't until I went through the worst, and I've been very open with my issues and my mental health and how I've struggled with depression and insecurities for the majority of my life. I've been incredibly open on the show about that. But when I went through one of the darkest seasons of my life in 2016, it humbled me a bit because I was like, well, I'm right about this. Well, I'm right about this. Well, I'm right about this. And the issue was, I might have had the right ideas, but the information, here's the thing, the information I could have about Jesus, if it's not changing my heart, then something is off. I don't want a bunch of information with a difficult, hardened heart that can't hear correction, that can't hear input, that can't have iron sharpening iron. I want information that leads to discipleship, that forms me into being more and more like Jesus and which is who he created me to be. I hope that makes sense. Like, that's genuinely my heart. Like, Lord, just show me, show me, do I need to be corrected? And there's things where it's like, no, I do believe this is right. And I want to continue to grow more and more like Jesus in it. I don't know if that makes sense. I don't know how long I've been recording because I feel like I'm rambling.
Okay, here's what I'm going to do. Let's pause. Let's take a break. Let's get our heart right. I'm just going to respond to some questions. And I don't know if I'll get to my teaching, but because what I want to teach you about is this study in scripture I'm doing is how people, everyone makes an impact with the people around them, whether we realize it or not. Everyone makes an impact with the people around them. Even if you're sitting in AdSec right now, oh, someone else questioned me about why ministries don't talk more to death row and AdSec. I'm going to answer that in just a minute too. So maybe we'll just do that. Let's just do that. But what I like to do in the show is before we jump into it, have a moment that just kind of calms us down, brings us back. Some people might call it like grounding, something like that. Okay. Obviously not everybody's able to go outside and to be a part of nature and to take it in. So we try to do is go on a ride on a motorcycle or go on a ride on a jet ski or go on a ride on a four-wheeler or something like that. So that's what we're gonna do now. And then when we jump back into it, let's go into scripture. This guy questioned me about, well, about baptism being saved and all that kind of stuff. I'm going to show you exactly how to be saved in scripture. If we get to this other stuff, great. But I want to pour into you, help you champion every season because I genuinely, genuinely care about you. And then this one, there's another dude in here.
Oh yeah. This guy, what's his name? William, William J. I'm not gonna say your full name, but you are here in Florida. You also sent it to the wrong address, but thank God the Lord works in mysterious ways. And I got it. You, you put some stuff in here that was, was, you said some stuff in this. What did you say and I'm not mad for the record big dog. I'm not mad He said Trevor before I mentioned this to Pando Like you want to go to Pando and tell me what I'm what I'm doing and you put a lot of exclamation points and what? I need to do before you go to Pando. I've already dealt with it with Pando So thank you very much for bringing to my attention But I'm gonna tell you exactly what he wrote in what he said Because I think you have a good heart in this like William I thank you you legitimately have a good heart Because I kind of see that weaved through you wrote me a couple different papers, I don't know how many pages this is For for And you didn't you finish it with love and and and Can't really read what you say. Yes. Sure. I think is what you said, which is like, what's Jesus name? So, yeah, so that's let's let's talk about this Let's answer what Zachary sent in to me as well not talking about Zach from Potosi But Zachary sent this in to me as well about baptism and all that kind of stuff and hopefully we'll get into about what you need Want to hey, thank you to man I've got a new list of things that you want me to How can you preach that from from Bob and the Blackhawks down there with them lot a dog? So I'm gonna try to get into some stuff. I think Scrabble was one of them. I was like, oh man, I Don't even know how I could preach that to be honest. I had to think about it. But okay, let's jump in Let's ground herself. Let's take it down I've rambled for probably 25 minutes at this point and then we'll jump into the rest of the episode. Oh Also st. John's County Detention Center Got a lot of let me say this right now ladies and gents. Let me I gotta say it with my mouth
I've gotta say it. I've gotta say it. I met I met These these incredibly just just super nice I don't know how much names I could say on this But I met this young lady Her I think fiance maybe boyfriend, whatever started coming to champion His name is Kevin, but she watches here in the in st. John's County Detention. Thank you so much. All right, then also Lexus I don't know if I can say full name. So Lexus D Mom and Michelle said they love you. We were able to take a picture with them as well outside of Champion Church this week They came down so cool to get to meet so many of you That have family come into champion or you get out and you come to champion say hello take a picture all that kind of stuff I love that kind of deal. So I just want to give a what's up to Them ladies and gents right here in the st. John's County Detention Center right here right here in my own County, so what's going on to y'all? All right for real now, let's ground herself. Let's jump into today's message All right, here we go, here we go, I got my Crane's Country Store shirt on. I got this in Missouri, their billboards got me, and they were making bologna sandwiches right there behind the counter, which was unique, I've never experienced that before in my entire life. Okay, all right, so Zachary said, hey, listen, I'm just paraphrasing, I should have pulled it up, I don't have time, paraphrasing, he's like, hey, you do have to be baptized to receive salvation from Jesus, okay? He listed a few different ones, 1 Peter 3, if I remember, Acts 2, Mark 16, where Jesus says, let's just go to the words of Jesus first, okay, so that's kind of just something I like to do, is start with the words of Jesus first, all right? Let me get this out, for you, with your Bible, right here on the Pando app, if you don't have a Bible, right below, there's a little Bible button down there as well, and oh, I got a question about why some translations remove certain verses, I'm not gonna have time to get into that today, but maybe I'll answer that. Down the road, okay, here we go. This is what Jesus told them, this is Mark 16, verse 15, okay?
And then he told them, go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone, so the word of Jesus is for everyone, that's what he says here. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved, but anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. Now this one gives me a little note to read at the bottom, let me see if I can pull this up, this shirt's a little big on me too, y'all, I don't want y'all to think I'm just gaining a bunch of weight, which I might, who cares, if I do, okay, I know what that was saying, okay, I'm not gonna get into that, all right, but this is what it says, Jesus said anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved, but anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. Okay, so here is the thing, the condemnation is attached to believing, not baptism. He lists both, but he only says if you don't believe, you'll be condemned, not baptism. Baptism is because of believing. Zachary said, hey, and this is what I read into it, Zachary, I'm not saying, and again, Zachary was so cool with me, like very kind, I can have those kind of conversations, right? So I'm just responding to that in the same kind manner. So he said, he was like, yes, but what, like how, you can't explain this way, and then I think I said baptism is an outward sign of an inward decision, and I get, some people have taken that as like light or weak, and that is not my intention at all, I'm just saying it is an outward sign of an inward decision, but I do believe it is necessary. If someone was to say, but not necessary for salvation, here's why, let me stop, let me go to Romans 10, here's why, so how do you get saved, okay? So it would, what would be called the Roman's road to salvation, all right, where we see, that's just a term that people have used, where we see our need for God, that we can't make it right with God, that we need what Jesus did, I've said this before, the difference with Jesus and every other religion, in my opinion, how I see it, is that Jesus left heaven and came to earth for us to connect us back with the Father, right? Every other religion says you have to do a certain amount of things to earn the right or the connection or whatever it might be, salvation, I'm just using that word, with Or your God, deity, whatever.
Jesus is like, listen, you can never do that on your own, so he leaves heaven and comes to earth for us to bring us into that if we believe. So Romans 10, let's start in verse, let's do verse nine. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God's raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Confess with your mouth, believe it in your heart, and you will be saved. This is Romans 10, verse nine, okay? Now, for it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the scriptures tell us, anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced. Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord who gives generously to all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. It is believing that Jesus is who he said he is, that you cannot make yourself right with God, but you are receiving his forgiveness, his grace, and his kingship, his lordship over your life. Great question in Boonville. What do you believe about once saved, always saved? And I said, well, you have to go into and see what is actually saved. Have you made him king of your life?
If you're just looking for a get out of hell free card, I don't believe that's true salvation. I don't believe you actually believe that. I think you're just trying to, in some type of way, have a pride in you that says, well, I don't wanna go to hell, but I still wanna live for myself. I still wanna be the king of my life. Jesus is like, no, no, no. If you make me the king of your life, the Lord of your life, that I'm the one that you serve, and everything in you is to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, right? That is true salvation. Like Jesus is my Lord. I don't live for myself anymore. I live for him, not me, for him. And doing that, you are saved. So if you are sitting on death row, if you are sitting in ADSEG, if you are separated from everybody else on CM or whatever it might be, or you're sitting in a county detention center, wherever you are, if you believe that Jesus is who he says he is, and you give your life to him, and you ask for forgiveness for your sin, your shame, your shortcomings, Acts 2 would say that is repenting of your sins, turning away from them and turning to him.
You are saved, and this is how you do it. Now, people say, yes, but Acts 2 38 and 39 says you need to be baptized. Absolutely. You should be if you can. Baptism should not be something where you give your life to Christ, and then six months down the road, you figure that's gonna be a thing. But here's what I know. Some of you have been sitting in the hole for months or years. I doubt administration's gonna let you go get baptized. So does that mean that you're not saved because the administration of where you're at will not let you get baptized? It doesn't matter the hole. A lot of times, and I respect administration for this because here's the problem. Most people, and I'm saying this is a hole, this is not administration shot at all. I'm saying in general, in the DOC, there's a lot of people who aren't honest. There's a lot of people doing stuff they shouldn't do. There's a lot of people smuggling stuff in. Like, let's just call it what it is, okay? The amount of red tape that I saw this week was wild to me, but here's what I know. There's that amount of red tape because that many people have crossed the line
and done something they should have not done. Does it matter? Like, I'm talking about in general, all across, from residents to administration, okay? Hear my heart. So let's just say the administration says, I'll tell you what, like, I couldn't bring in paper notes. We know this. Can't bring in paper notes. Can't bring in paper, that kind of stuff. So my thing is this. Let's just say where you're at, they're trying to clean stuff up, and you can't do that. So someone says, well, can we do a baptism service there? And the administration says, listen, no, we can't do that. Just right now, we cannot do that. So does that mean that anybody who gives their life to Christ in that jail, detention center, prison, whatever, that they're not saved until they're baptized? Are you telling me somebody sitting in house two in Potosi, in Adzag, and you give your life to Christ? Let's just say someone you care about, you love, found Christ, just using this as an example, in Adzag. They found Christ in the hole, but they're not getting out of the hole for two years. So they're not able to get baptized, even if the facility allows you to be baptized, but they're not getting out of the hole for two years. So does that mean that they're not saved for two years until they can get baptized?
No, because the gospel doesn't stop until you get in the water now if you can be baptized But you refuse I? Question if Jesus is your king because there are plenty of scriptures to tell you to be baptized why baptism why going in the water? Well, you are of course you are relating as Paul said with Jesus's death barrel and resurrection It is a symbol to everyone the same way. I wear a wedding ring. My wedding shows you that I am married now again That's surface level compared to how serious baptism is, but I'm just making that point. It is the outward expression of allegiance to Jesus That he is my king and I'm not living for myself anymore It is a demonstration, but it is not necessary for salvation So again, I said in the last one, what about the thief on the cross and you said well that was before Jesus died and Was raised again. Okay, true, but my problem is Are we now going to qualify things that Jesus did before the death burial and resurrection as old covenant? Because if you read Mark chapter 2 Jesus tells people they're saved in Mark chapter 2 Luke 17 Luke chapter 19 Jesus tells people they're saved. So were they really not saved? Are we saying Jesus lied to them in that moment? I don't think so. I think Jesus was the kingdom and when he showed up the kingdom had come He died Was buried resurrected for all this I'm not minimizing that but now do miracles not count because it was before the death barrel resurrection No, we know they do why because Jesus did them So I still stand by the thief on the cross is one of the clearest examples if I prayed somebody Oh shout out TCU unit out there in Potosi I got to go down there and them that are some of you are in your last moments You're sick If I go down there and I pray for them and let's say they pass away in the next couple weeks and they never get to Be baptized, but they realize and they've seen the light. So now Salvation has a certain stopping point No, I believe this God does not wish anybody would perish and if you are hearing this message
If you are hearing this and you have the opportunity to turn to Jesus I know this is more Christian language and in the the weeds of the stuff and and I'm not gonna spend every single week talking About this, but I'm gonna say this you don't need to wait to be in water to have the Holy Spirit of God in you Acts chapter 10 Cornelius gets the Holy Spirit before he ever is baptized Acts chapter 15 They double down on this you we can't take formulas or step-by-step stuff. It is this do you believe Jesus is Lord? Have you confessed him as your king and your Savior and have you asked for forgiveness for what you know? Have you turned from that stuff if baptism is possible by all means get baptized But I'm not gonna say the grace of God stops at the edge of a tub. I just don't believe that So I love the input Zachary. You made me think I spent the whole two-hour flight on the way back home Just studying and reading. I love your input. Thank you so much for that now Let's what was some other questions that I got okay, one of the questions was about The judgment that there's two judgments. Yes. There's a white throne judgment Did you accept Jesus and you're gonna be judged on what you did with your life and you know? Yeah, but I'm sitting in this prison. I'm sitting in this jail. You can still do something with your life, man You don't have to be this big anybody to do something and help those around you who's around you who's around you I think of her H you are in and with with Moses Aaron and Moses or excuse me Aaron and her hold up Moses's arms in a battle with the Amalekites and because of that the battle is won Who can you come around and support? Who can you speak encouragement into who can you be there to listen to who can you be there to be a part of what? They are doing Y'all some of y'all are so I'm gonna say some of you all of you have some type of creativity and the global leadership So one of the things they talked about was your expert power or whatever and for our small group we went around the table and we talked about what we're gifted at and and and I think it was Robison and Mark said this about how they love working on cars and they'll breaking stuff down. Riley was talking about man I just I'm good at seeing this kind of stuff. I'm good at seeing this and then Ariane was talking about man how he's good at selling things and he's good at Like since you're being an entrepreneur and and Joshua's sitting there and and he's talking about his creativity and the ability to Tell a story and and those kind I think Zach was I don't know what Zach was doing
He was uh, he was actually serving people. I'm just exact wasn't there at that part, but Zach has a heart to speak and communicate him. Why am I saying all this kind of stuff? Because it's like what do you have? I've shown you guys countless times before of simple things that you have the creativity in you you that can show people Jesus Bezalel in Exodus says he was full of the Holy Spirit of God in Exodus old covenant people In Exodus what 31 and 32 is full of the Spirit of God with creativity Y'all are full of the Spirit of God with creativity and that creativity through you will point people to Jesus Matthew chapter 5 Jesus said they will see your good works and praise your heavenly Father If you want to know that your creativity is turning people to Jesus. Do they praise you or do they praise Jesus? We'd be thankful for the person but as it turned people to Jesus, that's what I wanted That's why I put the show together. Is it turning you to Jesus man? Is it turning your heart to him? We we looked at there's this dude named a bimilac a bed Malek and Jeremiah 38 Jeremiah 38. I'm just talking to y'all Jeremiah gets thrown in this this cistern this pit essentially this big well, there's no water in it There's mud in it. He gets stuck in this mud and this dude a bimilac sees what happens So he goes to the king. He says we got to help Jeremiah. We can't leave him down there There's a clear picture that everybody sometimes they get stuck in a hole man They get stuck in the mud and then it says he lowered down Robes, but at the same time he lowered down old clothes and old Rags for Jeremiah to put under his arm as he climbed back up the rope very unique scriptures Jeremiah 38 go read it And you could easily overlook it until you realize oh, this is what God calls us to do He calls us to help people and protect their dignity in doing so He said Jeremiah put these old rags and these old towels under your arms So the rope doesn't help you if you are helping people we got to protect their heart when we're doing it It's not a thing where we just do it and you should just be happy that I helped you No, it is the love of Jesus. Jesus never said you should be happy that I helped you It was a love of Jesus that that turned hearts Yes, the miracles were done, but it was his love and his care for other people
That really turned their hearts the same with us Romans chapter 2 tells us It's the kindness of God that leads us to repentance If you know me, this is my problem with people who have a who have a tone or are just honestly angry all the time They're preaching like I'm like, man. I don't get it I understand passion but passion doesn't eliminate love and I'm not gonna say and I've done I can say that because I used to preach Like that like passion doesn't eliminate love it is the kindness of God that leads people to repentance Not fire hell and brimstone It's the kindness got so many people worried about the great white throne judgment and that matters And if you accept Jesus, your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life and you will spend eternity with God But then there's another judgment of what did you do with your life? It's called the judgment seat of Christ Romans chapter 5 Romans chapter 14 Tells us this and so like the question is this I'm telling you about her. H you are not a chair I'm talking about not not not and not it's not Nellie hot in her either With him st. Lunatics, I'm talking about her who lifted the arms of Moses. I'm talking about how long I've been talking I've been rambling for a minute. I'm talking about Bezalel who used his creativity so that people could see God I'm talking about a bit Malek, which I don't know if I'm saying that right ebd Dash m e le ch. I know it sounds like a spelling bee in here right now spelling bee That that didn't just help Jeremiah out of the pit But protected him to make sure he wasn't hurt more and helping him out of the pit That is the call of God on our lives man. That's what we're supposed to do. And we will be judged on that I'm not talking about heaven or hell. I'm talking about you will be judged by Jesus Why did you help someone with your life man? Did you help somebody? Did you did you pick up an oar and help somebody else row in their rowboat? Because what happens is when you get involved in God's business, he gets involved in yours Luke chapter 5 tells us this I know I'm rambling all over the place But this I just like talking to y'all and just in trying to communicate some just what's on my heart, right? So, all right, I think I've talked enough about all that
Let me let me read William's letter to me I'm gonna read parts of it No reason I'm reading is because he did say with love at the end Brother Trevor, that's me I'm not gonna say where he's from greetings from this town here in Florida I've been wanting to write you several weeks about your robo analogy That you open with in many episodes that is correct I'm gonna read it how he wrote it in all caps. That is a canoe paddle as a preacher of truth I wish you would start The program speaking truth about the tools you use okay a paddle is used in a canoe Not in a rowboat. I know an oar from a rowboat might be awkward in your studio quote-unquote Okay, but a paddle just isn't an oar truth I like the idea of the church family rowing together, but we don't row with paddles, okay? my boy William Like you ain't wrong, but here's here's what I want to say on this, but I hope it helps you a little bit But I'm just using it as an image Okay, so I'm just using it as an image to show and spider-mike got me a smaller one So I wouldn't quit hitting it and I've actually got this probably I got four other ones over here that we got that are gonna go on the front of a new set that I'm doing for Stuff with chamber church y'all might see some of it cuz I'm actually gonna do some interviews with different people to help you Especially my entrepreneurs out there And today we're gonna put some some like if you were thinking about a lawn business of getting out And I'm gonna do some conversations over here on that set. I'm just gonna be honest with you We got some paddles over there that are a part of the set so just I'm sorry My thing is this I had somebody tell me this one time I used to do illustrations almost every Sunday, and I had people get mad at me about this was years ago And they're like Jesus use parables not illustrations true because an illustration a Metaphor an analogy which I use the the or the paddle as a metaphor and an analogy all of them break down at some point
But the point necessarily isn't the scimitar I don't think I'm not preaching truth because I'm using a paddle and not an actual or it's the idea brother. That's it It doesn't mean I'm not speaking truth If I came in here I was telling lies about the Word of God Different if I was in here telling lies of what the Lord said different Using paddle or is just an analogy doesn't mean I'm not speaking truth. Okay, so I've got to be like Oh, let's hold up on that. Okay. Um, that's another thing cycle thing in recent episodes. You mentioned going Oh, sorry. He said so did I okay? Yeah, I always say go back and watch the old episodes, man They're up there for a reason some of them been taken down because of the fails and the shout outs And those early shows you weren't wearing a hat and I was not distracted by your forehead. That's cool, man. Great It's pretty large, but thank you Why do you think now that you need to cover or cover your natural features? Okay, is this vanity? I have watched good-looking preachers and I've seen deformed and ugly preachers The true message is not how you or your forehead look Yahweh does not look on the outward countenance He looks at the heart see 1st Samuel 17 16 7 100% agree brother 100% agree God looks at the heart now the outward you didn't say if I was one of the good-looking preachers or the ugly ones I'm just having fun And why do I wear a hat because it's what I feel comfortable in It's the same reason why I wear a shirt that might be oversized It's the same reason where I wear the shoes that I might wear or the shorts that I wear y'all know I like them as sure so what is it vanity? I don't know. I don't know I just it's more of what I feel comfortable in more than what I think other people think do I have a big forehead? Yeah, brother. I mean y'all saw my dad in that one episode. My hair is on the run I mean it is in my jeans ladies and gents, but is it vanity? I don't know I think I'm probably more in vanity of what I wear when I go to like the gym and stuff like that and even then I just wear all black, but I like the shoes that I wear. That's probably more vanity. Is this vanity? No, I think it's just more of comfort and what I feel comfortable in and putting this out for the views So I don't think it's that but I love your heart in and good check again completely cool to check me on it. No problem Third this is the one of the biggest things I get ladies and this right here is one of the number one Things I get about my show you ready
I have detected in the past William says that that You have had problems with foul language True you have let slip give a give a D. How do you know I didn't say dang? Could have said da or daggum like Bobby Bowdoin daggum The audio is blanked out. Yep I do it in respect of a pando and the captioning said give a it's true captioning is all done by AI I I don't even try to do anymore because it doesn't get right all the time anyone paying attention to your messages Here's what you blank out. Okay similarly when you disguise foul words with Different words in the f-word. I'm not gonna say him because they get they get thanked. Yep. No one's really fooled. Okay. Awesome Those are what sometimes it's called masked vulgarity. Absolutely Go back in history Even the use of sheesh is a way of substitutes using Jesus as quote-unquote or excuse me faint language. He looks Exodus Leviticus Deuteronomy and etc. The tongue is a powerful tool 100% agree life and death are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18. Amen Which many people have trouble managing absolutely and one of my Bibles the headline not part of the scripture I agree with you were 100% on the same page there true faith is evidence at words James chapter 3 Don't let your testimony to be tainted by low-class language Either spoken or implied. Okay stung a little bit, but I'm tracking right cool Which leads to my last part and the one which impelled me to write because you use vulgar profane and filthy words in the background Music that you choose. Okay I've not checked out all of your videos, but you really need to take the one down He tells the one and I did go listen to that I didn't I know the part you said and what it is. I guess it it actually blanks it out Okay, which again again? This is kind of why I transferred over to a lot of the AI music is because of that kind of stuff Let me make this super clear obviously, man William was and then you told me you were gonna go talk to Pando already talked to him. Thank you, though I appreciate that Oh, and then you I talked about ignorant. Yep, that's right. I talked about the correct definition and you didn't know ignorant I'm be honest with you. I did I did not realize that in that
Shouldn't be associated with such filth either I wonder what words are blanked out from the original recording you can hear them clipped in the nature of the something that were censored Okay. Yeah And then my watch my mouth, I don't know if that one's still up because of shout outs and all that kind of stuff Okay. Awesome. Thank you. Number one William. You were cool in this you weren't like, you know what I'm saying? Like like we don't necessarily know each other You know me from the show and you pick up stuff and when I'm putting my stuff out there Obviously, I'm putting it out there open for criticism open for input and all that kind of stuff without a doubt All right. Let me say this. I am NOT proud of how my mouse is. I'm not is it a part of who I am? And then I'm not perfect. Absolutely. Am I using that as an excuse? No, no I'm not are there bigger issues in my life that I'm trying to navigate than worrying about that That is also true. If this offended you I want to say genuinely I Apologize, but at the same time I'm going to be myself in the same way Doesn't mean that Jesus isn't working on me doesn't mean any of that kind of stuff if I didn't care or was prideful about it I wouldn't read your letter right here on the show But I do I do I wholeheartedly Disagree with you that I'm not speaking truth about the whole paddle or thing that to me is a little much language I will try to be better. But here's what I want to say. Here's the good news We all have growth right We all do every single one of us And do I need to grow in that area? Sure. Am I gonna try I will attempt I'm not gonna make a promise I can't keep but but but Let's just remember that I still am Trev. I Still have a deep heart for Christ and it's still love that we get to pour in To all of our DLC fam all over now talked a little bit About being that person to help somebody else Maybe you're that person to me. I don't want to stand before Jesus and hear like hey Trev Why couldn't you clean your mouth up?
Could I take you in Scripture and be that person that shows you vulgarity in Scripture? I could I'm not going to be that person because that would be prideful of me But is this something that hey, I don't want to stand before Jesus and hear that But Trevor you should have been better for sure. And this is the point that I want to make using what William wrote Here's the point. I want to make there are people in lives That you know what? Maybe we can sharpen each other You could be that person to hold someone else's arms up like her you could be that person with creativity like Bessel You could be that Abimelech that cares about the person not just them getting saved That's what we get to do. Here's what I'm gonna challenge you with as we're wrapping this episode up Here's what I'm gonna challenge you with Asking God if you don't have somebody already, maybe you already do Asking God and I said this in Boonville as well. Lord, would you bring good people into my life? Would you bring good people into my life somehow you like man? I'm sitting in the hall Oh that one gentleman said hey, I wish more people spoke to them to death row to all that kind of stuff I haven't talked to Texas death row in a minute. That's on me. I need to reach back out But then also there's there's so many that need to reach back out We talked about this plenty in the show before I'm not gonna rehash all that But I do I do care About and I got to hear in Potosi man how how so many guys in the GLA Had a heart for those that were in the hole maybe they were in there I mean Zach was in there Not the same Zachary from earlier Zach from Potosi was in there and out and I don't know the whole story now But had a transformation through Christ in his heart. I don't remember if he exactly happened in the hole or out. So forgive me either way but to hear to hear L.A.'s heart to go in there, to hear Brandon's heart to go in there, to hear Huber's heart to go in there. You know what I'm saying? Like to hear people's heart of like going in there, to hear a gentleman that serves there, A. Mule, that would go in there, to talk to Norman, my friend, that would go in there.
Like I think there are people that are out there and Karen, I know this isn't across the board at every place, but I know every time I put an episode together, I have you all on my mind. I'm thinking about y'all from those that are sitting in a camp and you're about to get out to those that are sitting in a detention center in a county and you've only got a few more weeks or a few more days to those that are facing 75 years for those that are on death row. You're just waiting on a date or maybe you have a day, whatever it might be. I do want to say we genuinely care. I can't speak for every other ministry on Pando and I love Pando. Thank God for them and thank God for the other ministries because everybody's not going to agree with me. Everybody's not going to like me and that's completely okay. The question is, can we be somebody to hold someone's arms up, to give creativity, to help them and care for them, not just try to help them and get it out even if it hurts them? Can we be those people that help others? Community is key. Iron sharpens iron. Iron sharpens iron. We need the right people around us. So my thing to you is to ask God, God, bring good people around me. Bring good people around me. If you've never accepted Jesus, Tony, today's the day to do it, man. Today's the day to do it. Pando makes it easy with that button right down there. You can click it. It'll lead you through everything as a great starting point to make him king of your life. I will say this. If you can get baptized, get baptized as soon as you can.
If it's, if it's they do it, if you're not able to, that's okay. And as soon as you're able to, you need to. I rambled a lot. I rambled a lot today. Hopefully something I said helps. I did talk about the study. It was her, Bezalel and Abedmelech that I wanted to talk to you about, but hopefully it connected in one way or the other. I love all of you so much. I still try to release on Thursdays. It doesn't always happen like that, but I am trying. Listen, when we trend, when you see champion up there trending, it is all of us trending. Now let's get to the rest of the episode. And then I'm gonna find some stuff that y'all have given me, especially the black Hawks that gave it to me down there in Lauday of, of different things like, can you preach that? Let's jump into the last little bit of the episode. She's got a smile that it seems to me, reminds me of childhood and me, your reason to be. Scrabble, scrabble, scrabble. Alright, here we go, can I preach that, here's what I thought about. Can you take what you have, can you just take what you have and do something with it. That's what I think about, they're taking these letters, these scenarios, these moments, can you just take what you have and do something with it. Can you do that, can you take what you have and serve somebody like her did, like Bezalel did, like Ebel Melech. And I still don't know if I'm saying that right, can you take what you have and serve somebody with it. That's something you can learn there. Hello everyone, I'm Raven-Symoné, and welcome to Scrabble, the classic game where words rack up points for the chance to win $10,000. Let's meet tonight's players. We've talked about that a lot on this episode. So I thought about that. Can you preach the car show? Yeah, absolutely. These interiors are just gorgeous. And I thought about this even with us man. We'll see you right here next week If you're thinking about starting a lawn care business because you mowed your own lawn You know a few times and figure yeah, how hard can this be stick around? I'll walk you through what actually matter so you don't waste your time your money or your reputation Believe me what you see on social media. It's not the real deal Mowing your own yard. It's not the same as running a business You're not just cutting grass You're dealing with people schedules equipment pricing expectation and Mother nature that doesn't care about your plans If you're good with showing up on time solving problems and treating customers, right You are ready. Let's say 80% ahead of beginners You don't need a $12,000 lawnmower on day one Start with what gets the job done a reliable push mower or a small commercial walk behind a trimmer or blower You know a couple of gas cans gloves Hearing protection. That's it. Keep it simple You're proving the concept not building an empire right away, by the way So here's the money-making key. Don't drive all over town Pick a tight area You want lawns close together. So you're making money mowing not burning fuel from point A to point B a Five mile radius is perfect for a solo guy. That means a one-person crew
When it comes to pricing set your price the right way Don't guess Walk the property Consider the size obstacles Slopes and how long it'll take for you as a beginner Start with a minimum price something like 45 to 55 bucks per yard, you know, just a basic yard and don't apologize for your pricing You're running a business not doing favors All right, so let's get our first customer fast Skip the fancy website for now. So do this instead Knock on doors in the neighborhoods that you want post on local Facebook groups Tell your friends and family Put a simple sign in a yard, you know people hire the more they see you and trust you when you finish a lawn take a photo and an after photo a before and after photo and Post it online Momentum start with visibility So remember keep your lawn care service simple don't offer ten different services at once Stick to mowing edging trimming and blowing master the basics So once you're steady and think about mulching eventually hedge trimming or seasonal cleanups, these things will come with time and expertise What you want to do is deliver like a pro Show up when you say that you will Text your customers, you know, send them before and after photos if they're not home Keep your mower blade sharp. Don't leave clumps and blow debris, you know on the driveway
Professionalism is small habits repeated every job Starting a lawn care business in 2026, it's simple, but it's not effortless If you stay consistent Keep learning and focus on services You'll stand out fast So the first thing that you're gonna be thinking about on the equipment that you need to start a lawn care business is the mower Okay Now admittedly the mower that is the the biggest purchase that you're going to make For your lawn care business. All right, most of the guys are if they're considering starting the lawn care business They already have a vehicle a truck of sorts And and the mower is something you're thinking do I need do I need to go and invest? In a twelve thousand thirteen fourteen fifteen thousand dollar. All right, you can start with whatever you need You can start with whatever you need. You can start with whatever you need you have. If you have a push mower right now, you can absolutely start with that, all right? If you've You can start with whatever you need You can start with whatever you need got a lawn tractor, you can start with that, okay? A lot of guys now, I mean, even homeowners have residential grade zero turns that they're using. That will absolutely work to get you started, okay? My point being is that the mower is your biggest expense whenever you are getting started, and I don't want you to go and just waste a lot of money. Without getting too deep into this, I just want to let you know that money is much better spent on other things if you're getting a lawn care business started. Do not break the bank on a mower. Use what you have, or if you must get something, find yourself a used commercial grade mower or something that is a budget mower. I prefer stand-ons for my market. We service residential lawns. I'm a big believer in the stand-on mowers, but if you've got bigger acreage, look at a zero turn, but let's go ahead and just get the mower out of the way. That is the biggest expense, but I don't want you to break the bank. You got to have a lawn mower, of course. The second thing that you have to have is a way to string trim your lawns and edge them. That is the detail work. You mow, then you go around, and you've got to trim all the things that the mower cannot get to, obviously. Now, here's where I'm going to go against the grain a little bit.
I do not want you to have a curved shaft or something corded. It just doesn't look professional, guys, and you're just going to be beating your head into the wall if you're using equipment like that. Then again, I don't want you to go out and buy a $500 string trimmer either. The recommendation that I'm going to make is go to Home Depot and then just get an Echo PAS 225. What is the PAS? The PAS allows you to interchange attachments on it. Now, right now, I currently have the string trimmer on this, but the beautiful thing about this system is not only can you have a string trimmer, but all you got to do if you want to switch it out, you just take this, pull this out, that becomes disconnected, and then let's say you want to put on a pair of hedge trimmers or an edger. You just take it and then swap it out, cinch it down, and now you're good to go. Now, you've got one power head that allows you to have a string trimmer. It allows you to have hedge trimmers. It allows you to have a power edger to edge sidewalks. It allows you to have a cultivator that you can attach to this. It really is a Swiss army knife, and while you may want a dedicated edger and a dedicated string trimmer, this is really, really a good option if you're just trying to keep your cost down in the beginning. Now, it is a little cumbersome to have to switch these attachments out, but the point in this video is I want you to see how little you actually need to get going, and you can absolutely... Guys, I still run this sometimes with my rig, and I don't mind switching the attachments out if I'm occasionally jumping in and helping our lawn mowing crew get caught up. Now, you might ask, say, John, well, that is a homeowner grade system there. That is not a true commercial system. You're right, but I want to let you know this, this right here, the Echo PAS225, that system, that is what we run on our lawn mowing trucks. Yes, I've had the very expensive weed eaters and string trimmers. I've had very, very nice string trimmers in the past, guys, but I'm telling you that this unit right here is really, if you are taking care of relatively maintained lawns, this unit right here is all you need to really get going. There'll be a lot of guys that go down to the comments who aren't familiar with the way that I run my business, and they'll say, that's just underpowered, it's unprofessional. I'm telling you guys, this system right here will work perfectly fine for getting your business up and running without you having to go buy a dedicated hedge trimmer, a dedicated weed eater, a dedicated edger. This system right here does it all. It is a Swiss Army knife, and I highly, highly recommend it. Now, you can certainly upgrade from the 225 and to get the professional
grade commercial series, and this is the PAS 2620. This is a more powerful head. If you want something that has a little more juice, you can certainly go up to this, but I just want to tell you guys right now that this 2620 system right here, it is heavier than this right here. Even though this is more powerful, it's commercial grade, whenever I'm out doing work, if I don't need the power of this, nine times out of 10, this right here is what I'm grabbing, all right? You've got yourself your mower, you've got a Swiss Army knife that allows you to string trim, edge, do hedges if you want, you need a blower, okay? Now, you can certainly go out and- been 600 bucks, 700 bucks on a blower if you want. But if you're going to get started, this is what I want you to get. Just go get a little handheld blower, man. This blower, guys, I mean, the cord's falling off of this thing. I don't even know how long I have had this Echo blower, and I don't even know the model on it. It's one that you get at Home Depot. It's just a little handheld blower that you get at Home Depot. And let me tell you that this thing right here, it has ticked along. I don't even know how. It's probably six years old, and it still just runs like a champ, okay? Now, do we have nice backpack blowers that we keep on our rigs? Absolutely, okay? But my point is, is if you're getting started, you don't have to have that. You're going to get more speed with a backpack blower, sure. But if you're starting out, and you're getting five, six, seven lawns, you got 10 lawns, 15 lawns, look, man, a little handheld blower, it's going to take care of everything that you need, all right? You need a mower, you need a Swiss Army knife, and you need a handheld blower. That is it. And if anybody on YouTube tells you differently, they're pulling your leg, man. They're pulling...
You know why I know that? Because whenever I started, it's exactly what I started. I started with a residential grade Hustler Raptor, okay? Little sit-down zero turn. I had this guy right here, something just like this, and a handheld blower. You know why? Because I didn't have the money. I didn't have the money to go invest $30,000 in mowing equipment, and a trailer, and a nice rig. I didn't have that money. But I did have enough money to go to Home Depot and get the basic equipment, and I developed the skills that I needed to become more productive and eventually upgrade everything in the company. But I just want to be an encourager to you that if you're going through YouTube and you're looking at, I want to start a business, what kind of business do I start? Lawn care seems like a good business. Jonathan just made a video on why lawn care is so great. If you want that video, I'll post it right here. Lawn care is a great industry to be in, guys. But I don't want you to be discouraged. I don't want you to think that you have to come up with $30,000, $40,000, or $50,000 to plop down in equipment, because that's what some lawn care YouTubers would have you believe. And you just don't. It's just simply not true. You start with the mower that you have, get yourself a Swiss Army knife, a handheld blower. Guys, the rest of it is marketing, getting that phone to ring, okay? If you want some help with that, I'll put a playlist here on how to get lawn care customers. Or if you want some help starting a lawn care business, join us in Turf Pro's Academy. There's always a link in my video descriptions for Turf Pro's Academy. That is the A to Z playbook on how I started my business for the Turf Pros.

But if you just want to hang out here and get some free advice, I would just encourage you, please like the video, please comment, leave a comment down there. You'll learn a lot from the guys down here in the community. This is really, really a great community. Love to have you a part of it. You Turf Pros take care. I'll see you guys out on the road. So you're looking to start your very own lawn care business in 2025 and you want to know how to get your first 10 customers. I started my lawn care business of November, 2024 in the off season of lawn care. And I'm going to tell you exactly how I am already sitting above 30 accounts in the summer of 2025, the very first year of starting my lawn care business. Now I'm not your typical lawn care YouTuber. I like to tell you how it is. I don't like to sugarcoat things. I'm going to tell you exactly what I did. So the very first thing that you do is what I did is I created a website. We're talking day number one. Before I even got an LLC, before I even got insurance, November 2024 of last year, I immediately got a website created and got it up. The reason why you want to build a strong online presence, especially in the early days, is because nobody's going to know who you are and what you're doing. I recommend you immediately make a website. You create a Facebook page because that's where you're going to get majority of your business, believe it or not, besides just general Google search. You're going to want to make a Google business profile, which is all completely free to do. The website will be the only thing that you have to pay for. Now, if you can make a decent website by yourself by following a YouTube tutorial, you got to
pay like $300 a year. That's for the whole year of hosting. It's not that expensive, not that bad, and it's well worth it. You'll make that back in your first two, three yards. Don't worry about spending that. At least have $300 set aside for that. The other thing, Google business profile, completely free, and the Facebook page, completely free as well. Now, what you'll want to do once you have that done, if you can do it yourself, if you can't make a website, then you will have to hire either a... somebody off Fiverr to create a basic two, three page website. I recommend using a professional team. I think they're like 200 bucks a month or something like that. And they optimize everything, get you leads coming in right now. I'm averaging four leads a day as a first year lawn care business going through somebody like Chris at Footbridge Media. But besides that, not only is the online presence good in the short term because you'll have more authority right out of the gate when you post a Facebook neighborhood groups and link your website and then they go there and they fill out your form. And they're like, wow, this is an official company. You know, like this isn't just, you know, we'll just say a name Tyler down the street that might mess up my yard. Like these guys are serious. You know what I mean? So I recommend doing that very first thing right out of the gate is build your online presence right out of the gate. You have to have a website in 2025. Don't listen to the guys that started in the nineties in today's time. In today's world, you have to have an online presence. That's number one. Now the second way is going to be putting out flyers, door hangers,
going door to door, hanging door hangers, like every week, multiple neighborhoods every week, every single week. Like we're talking, you have to be consistent with this. I have previous videos that you can go back in my channel in the early days of this channel and watch of me putting out 400 door hangers in four hours. So you can average in between 80 and a hundred door hangers an hour and you will get leads. This is going to be your print marketing, yard signs and door hangers were my big ticket winners here. Yard signs are going to perform better. I recommend going with somebody like a dope marketing. If you have the extra money and you want the extra spicy designs or going with UZ marketing, if you just want the simple, like lawn care services and a telephone number, either one is fine. You just need to get those and get those out in appropriate areas. You want to target shopping centers with yard signs. You want to target the end of subdivisions with those yard signs and you will get calls. The other thing is going to be your weekly Facebook posts in your local Facebook groups. Mine has like two or three Facebook groups for the same city that I want to be in and zip code that I want to be in. And I'm in there like every week. You want to adhere to the rules. But the reason you want to have a website as well as when you post in these, this is going to be your digital marketing. That's going to be free starting out is when you post your little ad, they're telling everybody that you offer lawn care services. You're going to want to put your website link at the end of the post. That way they go to the website like, Oh wow, they're, they're official. They're, they're, they're serious. Oh wow. Cause I guarantee you everybody in your area has a website that looks like a
fifth grader designed it. And if you've got a website that looks even decent, like doesn't look like somebody just went to an AI and had them design it. You will get so many leads from doing this. Anyway, let's go back to print marketing. I'm going to tell you something that I call the neighborhood blitz. And this is going to be like when you get a customer in a subdivision, we'll say, or in a neighborhood, every time you're there, you're going to go up and down the street, putting up door hangers, especially if you have all the extra time that you'll have just starting out with, with less than 30 plus clients. You're literally every week going to be hanging door hangers every single week. Now you don't have to knock on the door, but if you're decent at talking to people, you can knock on the door for a lot of people. That's kind of scary, but you know, it's not, you're, you're just offering to cut grass. You're not trying to sell a vacuum cleaner. You know what I mean? Like you're just offering to cut their grass. And the worst they can say is no, but at the bare minimum, leave a door hanger on every single door in that subdivision every single week, or at least on the same street, especially the four houses around the house you currently service. But I highly recommend you do the neighborhood blitz every week and you hang door hangers. You make sure there's a fresh yard sign up at the end of the road or at the end of the subdivision every single week, because they will get taken down. And this is just the game that you have to play because you need to think of it this way. The more clients you get, the more you'll make in terms of money you're spending for this marketing. The customer is paying for the marketing, not you, right?
Like you're going to make more than double what you spend on your marketing and in your door hangers and in your yard signs, especially starting out. If you do go door knocking, don't go in just straight pitching. You know, um, you need to be like, I'll give you a basic, you know, script. Hi, um, you know, say your name. I'm Tyler. And I just started lawn care in this neighborhood. You know, I mainly service this neighborhood. I'm doing a few properties on, you can say Monday, whatever day of the week. And you can be like, I wanted to see if you, you'd be interested in having your lawn maintained as well, since we're already here. What do you think? and then just sit there and be quiet. And they'll either say, no, I'm good. I already have somebody, which more than likely they don't, or I do it myself. They'll just come out and tell you. And you can just be like, okay, thank you for your time. I appreciate it. But you know what you're going to do every single week, even after you've talked to this customer, you're still going to put a door hanger there at least every other week, even if they say they'll do it yourself. Because what happens is, is in the hot summer heat, like right now, where it's 102 plus degree heat index outside, is they're going to be like, gosh, you know, they're going to go out there
and be sweating like, oh. You know, lawn care guys burn out during this. So you can imagine the homeowner, they don't want to be out there doing that. You know what I mean? So they're going to be like, man, what, where's that guy that I have 15 door hangers that I threw away of? And then they're going to be looking for you to be there. And they're going to be looking for your door hanger. And once you hang it on there again, they'll be like, oh yes. And they're going to call you. Hey man, we talked before. I really would like to sign up for some lawn maintenance at least for the next month or two, or at least this summer. Even if it's temporary, even if it's like two, three months, maybe even a month, that's income you didn't have before that you can use to pay for more marketing. This is why it's so important to continue marketing in your lawn care business, to grow past that first 10 customers to 30 plus, 40 plus. Maybe you want to get to a hundred yards a week. You and a buddy easily can be done implementing the strategies that we talked about in this video.
