When You Feel Like You're Drowning
Life has a way of hitting hard. Sometimes it’s your own decisions. Sometimes it’s just life being life. Either way, you end up in a place where fear is real, doubt is loud, and you start wondering if God even cares about what you’re going through.
In this message, we look at two moments where Jesus meets people in the middle of storms and asks questions that cut deep. Not to shame them, but to reveal what’s really going on inside. If you’ve ever felt like you’re drowning, like you’ve gone too far, or like nothing good could come from your situation, this is for you. Nothing you’ve walked through is wasted, and you might be closer to hope than you think.
Don't touch it. Don't even look at it. Go on, get out. You heard me. Honestly though, when you look at me, do you not think at all, like, hell, if he just never existed, I would have avoided a massive heap of trouble, you know? Absolutely not. I love you totally and completely. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm the best thing that ever happened to you? Yeah. Now I just feel bad for you. I ain't gotta peek over, keeping perfect composure. When I scream at the chauffeur, I ain't mean I'm just focused. I ain't mean I'm just focused. Put a lean out slower, got us clean out of soda. Before the flood, people judged. They did the same thing to Noah. Everybody wanna yondy that Jesus Christ did the laundry. They say that we start on Monday, but the strong start on Sunday. Won't be a bonus to any man. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! He is Lord! If you broke, don't wake up. With Judas kissing makeup. Even with a bit of cup. But gave my brothers a drink up. Did everything but gave up.
What's going on, Pando Land? What's going on? What it is, what it ain't. It's time to put another one in that Pando app. Bang! Baby, my name is Trevor. I'm so glad, wherever you're watching from, all over the United States of America, in the Department of Corrections, wherever you're at, watching this, man, it's such an honor to be able to be a part of your life. And this, we're a small church here in Northeast Florida with an incredible Department of Corrections family. People all over, just like you, wherever you are, just being a part of what we're doing here at Champion. And it's just one of my favorite things, I've said um six times, one of my favorite things to do in life right now is to come alongside all of you and help you champion this season that you are in. That's our heart. That's why we call it Champion Church, not just because of, you know, wrestling belts back there, which I'm a fan of. Oh, I don't know if you guys heard, what's going on here? What are we doing here? I don't, sweet Lord. Anyhow, sorry. I don't know if you guys heard, Brock Lesnar retired. And so I might put those highlights in from WrestleMania. Also, if you want to see something, if you're like, hey, can I see this?
Give us some ideas. Like, we try to fill our two-hour show. I'm going to teach to you. I'm going to do all that kind of stuff. Oh, we were talking about the name Champion. Gosh, man, it's early. Early morning for you, boy. I just slammed a Celsius because I'm going to work right after this, obviously. I'm all over the place. Let's get back to Champion. Why we're called Champion? Because we exist to help you champion every season of your life. Even this one you're in right now, right there. I get it. You're behind the fence. No one's like, man, I'm really excited to be here, that kind of stuff. But you can still champion this season that you are in through Jesus. Like, we believe that wholeheartedly. It's easy to reminisce about the past or wish you could change something from the past. It's easy to fantasize about the future of one day. But what about right now? Like, God hasn't abandoned you. You're not by yourself. You're not having to just walk through this and, well, I'll pick it up when I get to this date or to this time. But right now, you can champion this season through Christ. And that's why we exist as a church. A few housekeeping things.
If you don't know how this goes, I kind of do this intro stuff, and then we'll get into the main teaching for today. And then that's where I just kind of put in stuff that you guys want to see, whether it's some racing stuff, maybe some sports highlight stuff, whatever it might be. Today is someone at pickleball. I've never played pickleball Because I have an addictive personality and I don't need something else taking up any any of that kind of space in my life But we'll have some of those highlights in there Yeah, I'm trying to think of anything else any other housekeeping. I want to say this. I've got man. I told you guys here at champion It's like if think of it like this if If champion was a rowboat, right and that's how we see it and like just going down the river called life, right? it takes everybody at champion rowing like This is very uncomfortable to row with this desk in the way You understand what a rowboat looks like you understand how to row the point is this we're all row row row in that boat Baby boy, I'm baby girl. That's what we're doing. It takes all of us and you're like, well, how can I row? I'm in the Department of Corrections a few ways man Tell somebody if someone gets moved to your pod or your block or any of that kind of stuff man share with them Hey, we watch this show. We think the dudes kind of like whatever. He's got a big forehead Oh, I should put my hat on He wears a hat to cover up his forehead like that kind of stuff he's growing his hair out He looks like a like a Dollar General Bradley Cooper or something like that But the point is this you tell somebody tell somebody on the outside. Hey, check out this church I think so many of you have asked that I post our Pando episodes on YouTube now Knowing the music I can't because of the copyright some of the videos I cannot but I might put maybe the intro and at least The teaching on Pando so people can kind of see what or put it on YouTube Excuse me, not just on Pando that kind of stuff so your family can see it But let somebody know on the outside. Hey, man, check this church out that kind of stuff It all helps and when you do that, everybody rose. So we say like this when we trend Everybody is trending. It's not me. It's not champion church. It's you right there wherever you are. You are a part of this
So when you see us up there on that top 10 on Pando That is all of us because someone picked up an oar and started rowing Everybody rose and especially if you call a champion that you're a part of what we're doing You're part of all this stuff you row as well. And if you haven't subscribed, what are you? doing Subscribe it just helps us, you know where you see it when we post it you can see it immediately. I am congested I don't know if you guys can hear that in my in my face area Sorry, I just sniffled in your ear. That was unprofessional and disgusting all in the same time I'm super congested just pollens wild and we have a lot of wildfires right now in Florida when I'm filming this and so that kind of like there's some just a few miles away from where we're at and so like the smoke and I'm like People say sometimes I don't know when you like filling out doctor stuff. They're like, what are you allergic to? I'm like everything life That is what I'm allergic to so oddly I work outside if you guys don't know and you're just a part of the champion family We don't have any staff here at champion right now We're all volunteers and so I have a regular job that I work and I do a lot of landscaping stuff And oh, I want to know this too. I I Got that prime in me got that prime in me ladies and gents. I got that Kyle Larson prime. This is my favorite driver in That NASCAR and he teamed up with primes to shout out him two-time champ, baby. Anyhow, um I'm excited to be back and I'm rambling back like normal. I was curious Because we had to take down the the episode the bonus episode and we talked about that in the last episode go see why we had To take that down. Of course, no hard feelings. I'm just glad to be here But I'm curious if you if y'all kind of liked that model of Showing you like what my day-to-day is that kind of stuff? I do I do one of those once a month of like hey Here's what my week looks like leading into a Sunday and then to show a Sunday service as a bonus episode I don't know. You just got to let me know like let me know put it in the comments I read all the comments if you write us Listen, I read every letter and I know some of y'all like that's not sustainable. That's not sustainable. That's not sustainable
I get it. I get it And like right now if you write just being honest if you write it's gonna take about three months to get back to you I'm just being just being real with you. I read every letter and respond to every letter Because I just feel like that's the authenticity. I don't know why I said it like that Like I'll sound it out like hooked on phonics. I just want that authentic side to it, right? Like where I'm just like man, you know I don't want to sound like I'm putting anyone else down because I'm not like I have no one else in in mind when I'm Saying this like I'm not some big superstar preacher that I'm just putting stuff up the same stuff I'm gonna put on YouTube like I love being connected with all of you. I am filming this Lot of times I do it at lunch and early in the morning before I go to work because I want to it's not it's Not even like this big sacrifice. I want to I love hearing your stories. I love corresponding with you I love doing all that kind of stuff. But the thing is this I'm only one person So I have teams that help me put it into our system, but then I go through and read all of them right so if you write me it's gonna be 12 months easily or 12 months three months 12 weeks is what i was thinking easily um but the comments i read i don't respond to most of the comments but i read every comment pretty much real time every morning i read it uh in real time so yeah i think that's it for right now i'm ready to talk to you about this today we're in this series not just here on pando but also in our in our in-person church and we're talking about the questions that jesus asked the questions that jesus asked because here's the thing i believe jesus is the answer to the question of every human heart right i believe he answers questions in our prayers when we bring them to him right but i also believe he asks us questions there's these moments in scripture where he says says things like well who do you say that i am there's these moments in scripture where he's like well what do you want like what do you really want we talked about that in the last episode and there's this moment today we're gonna look at when life is life and man and i and i know where you are sitting right now it's like this you're you're on this constant the only way i know how to put it maybe is this like low simmer of all the time of suffering i'm not ignorant to that i've never been in your position but i'm also not ignorant to what you must be feeling and again those letters that you write it helps me understand what y'all are going through and i appreciate that so so so much but the thing is this there's these moments where it's not just this low thing of like it's constant
suffering because you're in jail or prison or whatever there's these other moments where man life really picks up and it's like these storms begin to happen and jesus asked two questions in the storms that we're going to look at today and why does jesus ask these questions because he wants to reveal something going on deeper than maybe even we realize so i'm going to take a hit of this prime i'm going to try to blow my nose where i don't sound as awful as i do right now and then we're going to jump into two different passages we're going to go to mark 4 and matthew 14 let's get into it so all right here we go two questions that jesus asked in storms because everybody no one is exempt to storms in life obviously everyone knows this if you've been alive for about two and a half weeks you have have experienced something in life that has been more like a storm and all of us all of us have to deal with it now for me i like a good thunderstorm right like i do but i don't want a tornado like i don't want a hurricane so here's the thing and i definitely don't want any storm in my life and i wonder if that's because of now i'm fascinated with weather and i think it's because like growing up i watched that movie twister i don't know if you guys and then they remade it it was pretty good uh in my opinion i thought they're both pretty good but in in life like i don't want to go through a storm in my life but everyone goes through them so so we need to look at these questions that jesus asked while he's in the storm and while the disciples are in a storm and just realize okay what's he trying to like what is he trying to reveal to me about my faith that's when jesus asks questions that's what it's all about what is he trying to reveal to me about my own trust and my own faith in him and i want to say this right off the bat if you have never accepted jesus in your life i believe that's the best decision you could ever make you are going to join this incredible family as you do so and pando makes it like super super super simple but it is a massive decision so like right below me there's a button that says accept christ and you can accept it there and it'll walk you through and it's a very simple thing to do but it's a massive thing to do as well like making jesus the king of your life accepting the work that he did where you can be forgiven for your sins and shortcoming and shame and all that kind of stuff and begin to walk with him and i believe it's the best decision you could ever make and maybe you say hey i'm not ready for that yet or man i just need to walk through some things hey we'll be here right so we'll be here but i do believe it's the best thing you could ever ever do all right so jesus brings up
two things in storms number one fear fear now where you are sitting i would imagine you're not going to show that fear too much because it looks like weakness but jesus talks about it in storms because when life is is is a storm and it's hitting hard man fear is so real what is going to happen what is this going to look like so we're going to look at that but then also doubt in another storm jesus calls out doubt of like can i really trust him can i really trust god or is or is that not is that kind of stuff not for me am i not worth that right am i not worth saving am i not worth having a word like i've screwed up too much stuff already in my life like i don't No, maybe I've went too far. I've got this sentence that I deserve, and maybe I even deserve more than the sentence is or whatever it might be. And you begin to doubt things as well, and especially, man, storms bring those two things up so much, fear and doubt. All right, let's read these stories. Matthew chapter four is where we're gonna start. And it says, we're gonna start in verse 35. And if you don't have a Bible, in the Pando app, right down at the bottom, like on the main page, it says like Bible, and I think it's like home Bible search, something like that. Click Bible, read these through. You don't have to read them right now. If you can, if you want, you can come back and watch this. We're gonna read them together. As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, let's cross over to the other side. I want us to notice that. Who told them to get in the boat? Jesus did.
It's important, we're gonna come back to it. So they took Jesus in the boat and started out leaving the crowds behind, although other boats followed. But soon, a fierce storm came up, and high waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion, and the disciples woke him up, shouting, teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown? When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, silence, be still. And suddenly, the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Now here's the point that I want us to get. Then he asked them, why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? The disciples were absolutely terrified, and said, who is this man? They asked each other, even the wind and the waves obey him. All right, now let's go to, what is this? Matthew chapter 14, another story here. Matthew chapter 14, immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat, and cross over to the other side of the lake. Who told them to get in the boat? Jesus did. Notice that. While he sent the people home, after sending them home, he went up to the hills by himself to pray, and night fell while he was there alone. Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble,
far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o'clock in the morning, Jesus came walking to them, or came toward them, excuse me, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified, and in fear, they cried out, it's a ghost. But Jesus spoke to them at once. Don't be afraid, he said, take courage, I am here. And then Peter called to him, Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you walking on the water. Notice this, Jesus is walking on water. Peter's like, if it's you, give me a word. Yes, come, Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat, and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified, and began to sink. Save me, Lord, he shouted. And Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. Now watch these next words. You have so little faith, Jesus said. Why did you doubt me? Like, well, hold on a second, does he have little faith? Because if I'm reading the story right, the 11 other jabronis of the disciples, they didn't get out of the boat. They're still watching. Peter was the one to call out, they're all terrified.
They thought it was a ghost. Boy, they thought like, man, I don't know, I was trying to think of a ghost. They thought Casper was coming across the water, right? They thought Michael Myers was walking that way, but no, Peter's like, if it's you, if it's you, give me a word to get out of the boat. And I love that, because Peter's like, listen, I want to walk in faith with you, Jesus. I want to do things that, man, I never, ever, ever thought I could do, but I just need a word. And I feel like all of us can relate to that. We're like, God, I want to follow you. I want to do these things. I want to trust you, but is there a word that I can stand on? Is there something in the scriptures that I can walk in right now, if that you could give me to get me out of my comfort zone in the boat and walking in the impossible with you? There could be a thousand things that you're like, man, you know what? Walking on water would be equivalent to me not being driven by anger, but God, can you give me a word for that? Maybe walking on water will be equivalent for you to not be addicted anymore. God, can you give me a word for that?
And I'm talking about from his Bible, the B-I-B-L-E, baby boy and baby girl. That's the book for me. God, walking on water would be equivalent to me forgiving this person, or walking on water would be equivalent to me actually trusting you, or walking on water would be equivalent to hearing from my family, or my family loving me, or even feeling like I am lovable. Do you see what's going on? Peter's like, listen, this is impossible, but can you give me a word? And man, I just can relate. I'm getting fired up. My voice sounds weird. I just can relate, man. Like God, is there a word in the scripture for me? Is there something in the Bible that is real for me? And he does it, like he does it. And then he begins to see. Everything around him, man, we've all done that. Goodness, we've all done that. And he begins to sing, he says, Jesus, save me. And here's what I love, here's what I love. I'm going way off script in my notes, but here's what I love. And I want you to hear this loud and clear, wherever you are, no screwing around,
I want you to get this. When you call out to Jesus, he reaches out for you. When you call out, Jesus doesn't let him drown. He immediately grabs him. He called out and Jesus reacted. And maybe here's the thing, maybe you've been struggling with that. Like, I don't know if I can call out to God. You're thinking, I don't know if I can, because I just don't know. Maybe I'm too far gone. Maybe I'm already under the water. Can I really call out? Maybe the very reason you're seeing this today, whenever you're watching this, is because God wants to speak to you right there, wherever you are, whatever the prison, whatever the detention center, whatever the camp, whatever the jail, whatever it might be to tell you, maybe it's time to call out. Maybe it's time to say, Jesus, save me. Maybe it's time to turn your, you've tried it your own way so long. You've tried other religions. You've tried all this stuff, but the emptiness is still there. And maybe it's time that you call out and say, Jesus, save me. And if that's you, again, we talked about a second ago,
there's a button right below me that says, accept Christ. It's very simple to hit the button. It's a massive decision to give your life to Christ, where you won't spend a day on this side of heaven or on the other side of eternity without him. And maybe you need to reach out. All right, that was a little off script. Let's get back to it. Jesus says, why so little faith? Jesus, he doesn't have little faith. He got out of the boat. He trusted you. He asked for a word and he's walking with you on the water. And then he goes, why did you doubt? Why did you doubt? All right, we're gonna come back to that. Let's press pause right there for a moment. I do love this though. It says, when they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Notice this, Jesus will reach out, but the storm didn't stop. Did you catch that? The storm's still going on. Like the storm is still happening. When Jesus grabs Peter, they have to walk back to the boat. And it's just me, it's a picture of this. If you expect every storm to stop just when Jesus reaches out, that's not how it goes. But he promises to walk with you.
He's not gonna let you drown, but the storm might still be going on. Why? And because that's just how life goes, right? But he promises to walk with you. Everything is in sunshine and butterflies and Publix cake and ice cream. Gosh, do I love cake and ice cream. Praise God forever. But the point is this, he'll walk with you. The storm might still be raging, but he will walk with you. All right, before we get to fear and doubt, I wanna hit this prime. Oh, thank you, Jesus. I wanna hit a few things. Anytime I teach on storms in life, I don't know if this is the right way to put it, but I call it this storm theology. Everybody goes through storms, but not everybody understands how to walk with God through those storms and through those seasons. Does that make sense? So I just gotta put these things together, these quick hit things, and we're gonna finish it up with fear and doubt, okay? Storms, every storm has a unique size and strength to it. In the same way in the natural, you might see like a F5 tornado or an EF zero tornado or a hurricane, like a category five or a tropical storm. What's happening?
It's just different sizes and uniqueness of storms. I believe in the same way as the natural, it's the same way in the spiritual, right? It is different seasons, different types of storms. Some could be quick, some could linger, all that kind of stuff. In the same way it is in our life. Does that make sense? Now, why do I say all that? Because it is very easy to judge someone else's storm that you're not walking through. And we gotta be careful. Like we're called in Galatians to carry each other's burdens. You can't carry each other's burdens if you're judging someone else's storm and how they're reacting to it. That's not gonna help anybody. I have this story, this guy, his name was Kenny Hunter. He was the dad of my high school sweetheart. And her and I dated, seemed like for eternity, but I think it was like four and a half, five years, something like that. And I'd known their family literally my entire life, but her dad and I kind of stayed friends. I actually worked with him quite a bit, even after we had broke up and all that kind of stuff, and still friends to this day. And at the time, his wife was battling stage four brain cancer, and I was working with him.
And I was in the truck, we were doing electrical work at the time, and I'm hearing what he's going through every single day. I'm seeing, as I'm going to their house, right, to see my girlfriend at the time, as I'm going there, See her and and just the struggles that she's having as she's battling this brain cancer And and i'm having this moment at this time and for me in my life I was just so broke that I was about to have to give my truck at the time back to the dealership And I was like upset about I was like, you know, what's the right thing to do? Do I just let them come find me and repo it? Do I do the right thing and just bring it back? I can't pay for it and i'm going through all this stuff and he gets a phone call from his wife About some more bad news that things weren't working and he hangs up And i'm sitting there and I go man. Listen, I just want to apologize I'm over here I can't say the word I want to say And moaning and I mouthed I didn't say it um About a truck that i'm having to to give back because I don't have any money And you're about to lose your wife Like your wife is about to to pass away and she would not long after that And I just said man, listen, i'm really sorry. I shouldn't have been just just complaining And venting to it And he stopped he said trevor. Listen to me In your life That is a massive storm of what you're going through because you don't know how to pay your bills He goes in my life. This is a massive storm I am going through because i'm about to lose my wife to brain cancer And he looked I can still see it in my mind's eye in that truck. He said listen do not
downgrade or degrade your Storm because it's not the same as me. It's still a storm in your life And that's stuck with me forever And that's how I try to do it with myself Like if I see someone going through something else i'm like that ain't nothing How am I going to be able to minister? How am I going to be able to help them? How can I reach out a hand? How can I bear their burdens? How can I give them wisdom if i'm if i'm like negating like oh your storm is nothing If i'm downplaying their storm to them It's a massive storm that they might be feel like their boat Their rowboat in life is about to get capsized. And if you're like, that's nothing. How could you help them? How could you help them bail water out of their boat? That feels like it's about to go under in their storm If you're just judging them for how they're acting in their storm, you can't speak life into that. Jesus says judge Uh, let's not you be judged in matthew 7. I love this translation says refuse to be a critic full of bias towards others You can't help somebody if you're rolling your eyes at the storm They're going through everyone has different storms and sizes and uniqueness, but it's still a storm to them Don't criticize help them bail water out of their boat so they can help you bail water out of your boat in a season As well. The second thing I want us to get our storms are revealing I believe this wholeheartedly every single Person has a kingdom they live for and I probably should do a full teaching on this for for all of you uh in pando land Every person has a kingdom they live for every person has a gospel They believe and every person has a savior that thing's going to fix it Okay So the kingdom you live for most people would live for the kingdom of their self Now if you're in a gang or something like that, the kingdom is probably going to be that way, right? It's probably going to be serving them, but everyone has a kingdom they're living for
Everyone has a gospel. They believe meaning this everybody has good news that they believe okay, and then everyone has a savior To fix broken humanity. You've heard me say this on the jesus verse everybody episode Every religion at least will agree on this humanity is broken Humanity has issues but every person believes that in a certain savior that will fix that for christians We live for the kingdom of heaven The gospel is what jesus did that he left heaven and came to earth for you and I we didn't deserve it We could never earn it and he forgave us through his work on the cross in the empty tomb He forgave us and gave us uh, the the opportunity to be in his family And he is the savior of it all I guess christians That's what we believe that jesus is the savior now what storms do you can say? Oh, I live for the kingdom of heaven Oh, I believe the good news the gospel of jesus christ and I believe that he is the messiah the savior of the world You can say all that but what storms do when storms punch you in the freaking mouth storms reveal where your faith really is I've realized when storms happen. I realize where I actually trust when storms happen I realize who am I actually turning to when life is freaking tight mike tyson in my freaking face, right? Like where where is life? Or where is my faith in and and for my life really laid when storms kick me right in those chapas, all right next thing Jesus sent them and they still hit a storm Remember, I called it out in both stories who was in the boat with him Jesus who said go to the other side jesus and the other one who told them he literally Insisted some translation say for them to get in the boat both times. Jesus tells them to go in the boat Both times they end up in the storm. What's the point you can do everything right and storms still happen It's life, man. Sorry for sniffling in your ear. Man, I am congested as a son of a mother. The point is this. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. Sorry, Jesus. And sorry, mothers. Storms, yes, you know consequences well. You would understand that, okay? But storms sometimes happen just because we're in a fallen world
or other people's decisions or our own decisions or just spiritual warfare, whatever it could be, right? Storms happen to good and bad people. It's just how it goes. You can do everything right and still go through storms. I think of my best friend that passed away. Many of you have watched old, old episodes. That's why I have a Denver Broncos helmet right there. He was my best friend. He helped us launch Champion. I'll never forget when he gave $10,000 right off the bat just to say, hey, I'm getting in the game. He wasn't super rich. His family is a massive reason. Without his family, without his wife, we're not even on Pando. Like that's how serious this is. And there was another family that really stepped up. Both of them did and said, hey, we see the need for it. This doesn't even happen, you know, five months ago if it's not for them. I have that up there to honor him because he was a huge Broncos fan. He lived out there in Denver, worked out there and then moved to St. Augustine when he retired. He was serving someone else when he has a heart attack and dies. Like you know how unfair that is? He's serving someone else that could not do it themselves. One of the things we do at Champion is like, yes, we do this. We do stuff with homeless ministry. And then we help widows and the elderly that need help with their yards. He was helping someone else cut their yard and has a heart attack. You know how unfair that is for his family?
Now I know he went to heaven. He took his last breath here, but because he gave his life to Christ, he went to heaven. You know how unfair that is for his family? That they had to walk through that storm and that pain? Like that's not fair at all. They were doing the right thing. But man, storms still happen. You can't be like, well, God's, you can't get into that. Well, God's abandoned me or God's not good. Or, you know what? I knew this, all this religious Christianity crap isn't real because if it was real, then I wouldn't be going through this. No, listen, that's crappy thinking, man. That's crappy theology. And that's not the word I want to use. That's terrible theology to think, well, God did this to me. No, no, no, listen. God doesn't author the storms, but he absolutely will use the storm for our good. That's what we have to believe. Like at the core of it, that nothing is wasted. I did an episode on that quite a few back. You can go and find it in the archives. That nothing is wasted. He is so good that he can take the worst way of dying through crucifixion by the Roman government and have Jesus dead for three days and raise him back to life. The worst thing in human history that happened to the perfect one, Jesus, turned into the best, most life-giving thing for you and I, where we can accept his love and his hope and his goodness and his way for the world. It happened through something so awful.
He doesn't author it, but he 1,000 percent, and that's all the percents, can use it. The question is, do you believe it? Will you trust him in it? God, this storm sucks, but I'm going to trust somehow you are going to use this for your good. Nothing is ever wasted with God when we give it to him. So if you're going through a storm, God, I just give this to you. I'm just casting my cares on you. I'm trusting in you. I know how good you are. This storm sucks, but I know how good you are. And I just believe somehow nothing's wasted. Nothing's wasted. Some of the hardest storms I've went through, I'm able to help other people. When I talk about my depression that I still deal with, and I'm not proud of that. I'm not like, I'm depressed. I'm not proud of that. But I know from letters and corresponding with y'all how it's helped y'all. When I wanted to put a freaking gun in my mouth and had planned out making it happen, I'm not proud of that, but nothing is wasted. When I walked through divorce with my son's mother and I lost my family. Listen, I'm not proud of that, but nothing is wasted. You might not be proud of the storms you've walked through, whether it was self-inflicted or it was just life, but nothing is wasted. I'm telling the story today about Kenny losing his wife. And listen, I know his heart and as hard as that was in that storm he went through, but nothing is wasted. Can you believe that though? Can you put your trust in him? That God, I don't know how you're sitting there in Texas death row. What is up Texas death row in this thing?
Can you believe nothing is wasted even for you? Can you believe man? Alexander just got 60 years. Can you believe nothing is wasted? I know you can, that's why I'm saying this. Can you believe Hatcher's sitting there and you're like, man, I'm just ready to get out of here. I don't know why I haven't been released yet. I'm just walking through the process. Can you believe nothing is wasted? Can you believe it? That he's that good? Can you believe Jimmy J. Shaver? Can you believe nothing is wasted? From a moment and you've been in there five, over five years. Can you believe nothing is wasted? Matthew Smith, can you believe nothing is wasted? The black ox. Can you believe nothing is wasted? Russell Rowe. Can you believe nothing is what you're saying? Like, can guys, can we believe this saying in our heart? Joshua Gilbert, can you believe nothing is wasted getting sent here and sent there and sent everywhere? My God, looking like a traveling man out there. Can you believe nothing is wasted? William Ruby going through some stuff right now. Brother, can you believe nothing is wasted? He may not have authored the storm, but he can absolutely use it. He can absolutely use it. Okay. I think of, I don't know how long I've went. Okay, I think I'm okay. I think of the story of Joseph, right? In Genesis, and we've talked a lot about that in past episodes. Genesis 50, you intended harm to me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done. The saving of many lives. Romans 8, Romans 8, 28. Can you believe this? And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. God causes everything to work together. It doesn't just say unless you're sitting in jail. It doesn't just say unless you screwed up massively.
It doesn't just say unless you took someone else's life. Doesn't say that, man. It doesn't say unless you ruin other people's lives. Listen, it doesn't say that. It says, do you love God? Have you given your life to Christ? Have you received his forgiveness? Other people might not forgive you. And like, we have to be okay with that, right? It is what it is. You can't go back and change it, but you can change where your heart is right now. You can change your perspective and you can believe that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. It's a healthy reminder that with God, nothing is wasted. Okay. I've got to get, um, I've got to hurry on this. This next thing I want you to see is memory. I called it this, this, I called it memory issues. Okay. Remember in Mark 4 40, and then Jesus asked them, why are you, why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? Why would he put that last part? Like, do you still have no faith? Because they've seen other things. They saw God do amazing things. It wasn't like they never seen him do a miracle. They've seen multiple miracles already. And Jesus is like, you have seen those miracles. Why are you still not trusting now? So the point is this, sometimes storms are really good at giving you short term, short term memory, really good at making you forget everything else God has done. And just realizing how you feel like you're about to drown in your rowboat is about to sink. He's like, Hey, remember the things he's done. And you're like, and you might say, listen, I don't feel like God's done anything for me ever. Can I just tell you the very fact you're watching this, this wasn't on my radar six months ago, not even on my radar six months ago. And somehow you found this video sitting in jail or prison and that camp, that detention center, whatever, man, this is proof. Let the very fact you found this today be proof to build your faith that God can do
something in and through you even in this season. And then he asks him why the two questions, why are you afraid? When you are afraid in a storm, the root of it, the root of the fear, fear is the fruit. The root of the fear is this. I don't know if he actually cares about me, right? When you're in a storm and you're like afraid, like what's going to happen? How's this going to turn out? What is next that fear is rooted in? Does God actually care for me? What did they say in the boat? Do you actually care? Or do you even care that we're about to drown? Do you even care? It's questioning his care for you. Absolutely. He cares. Absolutely. He cares. He's crazy about you. He made this happen. He made two families that you will never probably meet say, Hey, I want. to do something because I feel like we're supposed to have a show on Pando and I'm like I don't work here I don't know how I'm gonna do this is there gonna be like 150 people that watch is there me like 200 people that watch because I think that would be you know I can give up this and then all of a sudden it blows up and all of us are trending all the time like you put you're part of the champion fan we're trending all the time like do you see like these little things that shows he cares to put hope in your life to put joy hopefully in your life to put this moment where you're growing deeper with him over 7,000 of you have given your life to Christ just through champion here on the Pando app like I like do you see how he cares enough to do these little things for you none of us deserve it none of us do when you get favor and things open up for you do you see how he cares of course he cares for you on the other story with Peter he gets a word from God now that's a Christian way to say to get a scripture in to stand on it okay so for example when I just did the nothing is wasted and I brought you to Romans 828 that God works everything together for those who love him when you feel like man I don't know how God can use my mess my storms my screw-ups my mistakes my shame all that kind of stuff
my guilt my you know all that you stand on that word like I don't know how he's gonna do it but I know this is the word it's like that's having a word right so I that's standing on it that you know what he says here that that he makes everything work together for the good of those who love him I'm just gonna believe it and I'm gonna receive it and God I believe you're gonna make that real in my life you can do that with a thousand other things right it's finding a promise of God and standing on that promise of God for your life like I don't know how but I'm just trusting this right here that's standing on a word Peter's walking on water because of word from Jesus he says if it's you tell me to come give me a word and he says come on then and on that word he's walking on water he begins to sink in doubt doubt makes it's where you believe that word might apply to other people but not me just using the nothing is wasted thing again just as an example other people might say nothing is wasted but I'm sitting on Texas death row and I don't know if that applies to me other people nothing is wasted but I'm looking at a sentence of 25 years I don't know if that applies to me other people might say nothing is wasted but not only am I sitting here I've lost my entire family and they don't speak to me you see how you like it's the doubt is questioning is the words of Jesus enough for me and I just want to tell you this they are you're like okay what else no they are he said Matthew 24 heaven and earth will pass away but his words would never fail everything else can go away but his words will be true it says that if he sends a word it never returns void that's Isaiah 55 if he speaks it it will accomplish what he said you just have to believe it all you have to do is trust him that he will make it happen and he'll help you walk and step in that thing the last thing about storms at the end of both stories of the storms in Mark 4 and Matthew 14 and both stories they saw Jesus differently if you will walk with him and talk to him and and and be close to him in seasons of storms you will see him different on the other side I promise you I promise you I don't know where you're at maybe you're not in a storm right now I don't know who coined this phrase but I love it every single
person you know is either in a storm coming out of a storm or there's a storm on the horizon it's just how life is ma'am it's just how life is but God never abandons you in it he never promised you wouldn't have storms but he did promise that he would never leave you nor forsake you the question is will we just receive what he did for us I think this is the fifth time if you've never given your life to Christ today's the day man today's the day maybe you just need to re-engage go read these stories go read these words look for these promises of God there's so many videos here on Pando that can help you do that and grow in your faith and simple teaching do those things get them in your heart and I believe next time next time a storm comes I hope these things help you just questions of Jesus why are you afraid what why do you think I don't care why are you doubting what I said everyone has different sizes of storms you realize nothing is wasted he doesn't author them but nothing is wasted I hope these things speak to you help you and encourage you in this because that's a whole reason we're doing it so you could champion this season you're in right now there are literally thousands of sharks in front of us right now they're jumping they're finning I'm gonna throw this lure out it's not gonna take long guys and watch this oh my gosh fish on He's going to jump, he's going to jump, he's going to jump, he's going to jump, he's going to jump. Look at that. Oh, I love that. It's a good workout catching these blacktips. That's a nice blacktip. Wow. As soon as he's ready, I'm ready. Once I get the spawn on the rod. Ready? Grab the wire.

Don't mess with the drag. Don't even look at the drag. It's getting close, dude. We're getting very close now. I just love how there's no sharks that are trying to eat it, dude. The only thing that's going to come here is a giant marlin or something that's going to try to eat him. Yeah. Which is fine. There he is. Oh, yeah. Nice and easy right here.

You've got him beat. That's it, man. That's it. That's it. You've got him. You've got him. Help. Get him. Get him. These were my top 10 favorite moments from this past year, but to be honest guys, there were so many great things that happened, I just couldn't fit it all on the list. So here are some other great clips from 2019. Here we go, here we go, here we go, oh this is it, this is it, we got him, we got him. Huh? Yeah, we got him, we got him, we got him, we got him. Oh! Fish on baby! Oh baby! There he goes! All right, there he is, there he is. This is one of the most strongest fish pound for pound in the ocean, it's like hooking in a fighter jet. He looks like a duck, look at this beak he's got right here, look how sensitive he is. Beautiful animal. They're a lot of fun to catch on a rod or reel, they give you everything they got. Permit on, permit on, permit on. Get that shark rod up, he's right on the shark rod. I saw this fish dude and floated it back to him, he's way back. All right, keep it light, keep it tight. Oh my gosh, he's massive bro.
Yeah! Yeah! Look at the size of that permit. What a fish man. Showstopper baby. Yeah, light tackle. Dude, he fought so hard. Big fish. Oh my gosh. Got it? Got him? Oh! Oh my gosh! Woohoo! Oh, my gosh. What a monster. Oh, my God. No. Oh, my God. Third opportunity for McGuffin and DeVilliers. I told you he'd be on the ground. We're still playing. He'll be on the ground again. Oh, my goodness, that is what match point should look like, ladies and gentlemen. Insane effort by Rob Cassidy there. What a great finish. He and Jardim complement each other quite well. Their intensity and their play. Dario flying across the line for that one. Oh, no. What the heck. What a point. J.W. Johnson, a miraculous ATP. It goes over Tardio's paddle. Once that ball gets up, he's going to keep going. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Going hard at the body. Another chance here at a game point. What do they have to do to put it away? Crowd in absolute awe. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. It's in. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. We're going to get a game three, guys. That was another point where we saw everything, including the kitchen sink be thrown from the pantry into the open.
Eight-six minutes. Oh, my God. What? Oh, my gosh. New and new pushups. Unbelievable. With a gift from Annaleigh Waters in the middle of that. That's so special. Full sprint. But in the end, not enough. Take a good look at the two-hander that Newman talked about earlier, just how much he's enjoyed using that as a weapon. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.
What a point...! Unbelievable. The point of the tournament so far. My gosh. That ball sounds cracked. It does, doesn't it? And if it's not, it will be soon. And just wide on the big two-hander from Irvin, and one of the best points you'll ever see. Every part of pickleball in one place. 6-2. So 6-2 here, game two. Oh my goodness. Jocelyn DeVilliers with the ATP. Ridiculous slice winner. Oh my goodness, Jocelyn DeVilliers with the ATP. Ridiculous slice winner. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. Oh my. Ridiculous point, everybody. Scanned the crowd. My goodness. 9-5-1. But she got a finish anyway. Lucy trying to finish. Great defense by the Waters. How about this point?
Floor is lava. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And after all that, Kovalova is able to not just hit an ATP, but you can see that Anna Lee guards the line, and she goes on the other side of her. Keeps the best Riley's got alive. What an exchange going on right now. This is incredibly high-level pickleball, folks, that you are watching right now. You've got to be kidding me with this point. What? I mean, that was just unbelievable. 8-1. It finally ends with a disputed call, and look at the respect. Look at the respect, Jonah. I've been calling pickleball for, this is my seventh year calling pickleball. That might be the best point I've ever seen. That was unbelievable. And it just keeps going. Look at that speed from Kohler, and yet the ball keeps coming back. And the work on the baseline out of the new men's one, and half an an an an an an an
an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an an

Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!
Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! On your left! On your left! On your right! On your right! Left! On your right! On your right! On your right! On your right! Left! On your right! Left! On your right! On your right! On your right! On your right! On your right!
On your right! On your right! Third goal. Touchdown. Second down. Aikman back in the road. And this is a touchdown. That is Michael Irvin. You want to know what an all-pro looks like? Watch Michael Irvin here. He'll battle you all the way down the field. Motion on first down Aikman. Harper. Was that beautiful? Dallas. End zone. Touchdown. Touchdown Cowboys. Alvin Harper. Hand off Emmitt Smith at the 15th to the 10th. He'll score. Emmitt Smith dances to the end zone. The Cowboys have taken a two-score lead. The Steelers and the Cowboys were Super Bowl XXX. Falls down, gets back up, stays on his feet. And did he get in? Touchdown. Emmitt Smith. Still alive. End zone for a touchdown.
Aikman's got plenty of time. Deep ball left side. Caught in Ferris. Spinning away Emmitt at the 15 to the 10. Diving at the goal line. Touchdown. Touchdown. Aikman to Floyd. Going deep. For Harper. And Harper comes down with it. Aikman takes the snap. Gets to Smith. Right up in the middle. He's got the first down to the 50, to the 40. Emmitt Smith will go all the way to the 20, 10, 5. Touchdown Cowboys. Hand off Smith. Big hole up the middle midfield. Down 40. Smith with a hole field. Emmitt Smith, 60 yards. Aikman fakes to Smith. Deep down the middle. Has his man complete. Rock and Ismael to the 5. Touchdown. Flips it to Smith in the left flat at the 30. Beats his man down the sideline. First down 20.
Cuts right at the 15, to the 10. Smith to the goal line. Touchdown Emmitt Smith. Oh, Emmitt Smith. Aikman with time. Long ball. Touchdown. And Emmitt is going to score. Touchdown Cowboys for Emmitt Smith. That's classic Emmitt there. Lows the shoulder, still got the power. In motion and Aikman will throw a touchdown. And go deep. Harper. Touchdown. Looks to his left. Sets the throw. Fires the ball. It is caught for a touchdown. Touchdown. Aikman to Irvin. Michael Irvin is having a heck of a day. Emmitt for the record. Got it. Outstanding ovation. Nobody deserves it more. One of the real class acts in this game. Here's Aikman. Off with a bundle to Irvin. Touchdown.
Off with a bundle to Irvin. Touchdown. Michael Irvin. Not many people would make that catch. Irvin going from the 10 and a draw to Smith. And he's in. What a run. Oh, my.
