Don't Shrink Back
What does it actually mean to have faith in God?
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” But biblical faith is more than positive thinking, hoping something works out, or convincing yourself everything will be okay. Faith is relational. It is trusting that God is who He says He is, that He is faithful to His Word, and that what He has promised is substantial enough to change the way we live today.
In this message, Trevor walks through Hebrews 10 and 11 to show why the writer tells believers not to shrink back when life becomes difficult. We look at what “substance” and “evidence” mean, why God’s past faithfulness gives us confidence for the present, and how people like Noah, Abraham, and Sarah acted on what God said before they could see the outcome. Faith lets the promises of God affect our decisions, our prayers, and our actions even while we are still waiting.
If you are struggling to trust God because you cannot see what He is doing, this message is for you. God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). If you need wisdom, you can ask Him for it (James 1:5). Jesus teaches us to pray believing that God hears us (Mark 11:24), and Philippians 4:6 reminds us to bring our requests to God with thanksgiving. And if your faith feels weak right now, Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Get to know Jesus. Stay in His Word. Remember His faithfulness. Do not shrink back.

All night, for all my life, oh lord, oh lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight I can feel it coming in the air tonight Come on, you got it Push, Cappy Poppy Cappy Poppy What it is, what it ain't It's time to put another one in now Living in a van down by the river Tell y'all, with a tear in my eye It's time Oh, yeah, you already know, you already know You already know what it is, what it ain't Pandolay It's time to put another one in that pando-wap Bang, baby, what it is and what it ain't That's what I'm asking you I've got this Alani Nu Alani, oh, no primes this morning, it's a little early Getting it in Getting a little caffeine in me A little caffeine in these veins, baby, in these veins Happy whatever day it is that you're watching this My name is Trevor I had the amazing opportunity to lead a small church here in northeast Florida called Champion Church And you are tuned in to the Champion Church show with your favorite Trevor I'm just going to say that in faith, and I may not be I might be the most annoying Trevor, the biggest letdown Trevor Biggest forehead Trevor
I don't know, whatever, I'm kind of putting myself down and getting a little sad But the point is this, hopefully I'm your favorite Trevor at least here at Champion Church And I have the amazing opportunity to volunteer and lead from this seat with all of you in our wonderful DOC family all over the United States of America That is from California all the way up to Oregon Out there in Idaho, down there in Montana Out there in Texas Texas, got a few things working about me coming out to Texas A few things in the work, we'll see how it goes Obviously I've always wanted to do that Several people are like, oh I want you to come to my work camp Oh I'm missing my ring, I'm still married I forgot it this morning, just wanted to make that clear Don't want to give off any Let's just move on from that But yes, I just forgot that just for the record Anyhow, the point, what was I saying? Oh Texas, might be going out there, got a couple places interested in having me out Some people say, well I'd love for you to come to my work camp, my prison, my whatever it might be My jail, whatever Here's what you've got to have You've got to have the chaplain on board You've got to have administration on board And you've got to have the warden on board If they are all on that, I will come there I will take off from work and I will be there My own dime, all that kind of stuff Typically it looks like I lead some type of chapel services and that kind of deal Whatever it might be But just so if somebody wants to see that happen for them
I got this opened up because I wanted to give some special mentions To some special people who gave their life to Christ this past week I'm obviously a little biased That I'm a Jesus guy And so I believe in Jesus and in salvation And I just love, love, love to see it Let's see, a couple of specific ones wrote their testimony out And that's what kind of caught my eye Jeremiah Moultrie, man Nicholas Hughes did There's a few that specifically, specifically Kyle Timothy Summers talked about how he's growing closer to God Which is awesome Let's see some other salvations Jeffrey Barnett, man What a great story you wrote Jeffrey Barnett, just incredible, incredible story I thought that was awesome And Kenneth Daniels as well So anyhow, not going to go through all of those necessarily We have over 1,800 testimonies that I would have to go through just on this Just on the Pando app stuff What else was I going to say? Other things happened. And speaking of Pando app. Oh, we haven't done it. I haven't talked about the discipleship course in forever just because of work and whatnot, being busy. Um, but I had someone approach me about doing a discipleship class specifically on my book 41. Um, and my thing was the same as I always, I would need to take several days off from work from that. Maybe like possibly,
I would say maybe like three, four, maybe just a week off from work to be able to really pour into that because that's what we can put up here on Pando and be able to pour into that. But I'm obviously doing that and they were interested in actually funding that. So we'll see if that happens or not. That's a cool thing as well. Uh, actually took a day off of work yesterday. I never do that like I should. And I'm a believer in the Sabbath and all that kind of stuff. But I just have not been. Um, it's like if you're not intentional with stuff, here's what I've learned. If you're not intentional with things, you don't naturally like drift to the good, right? You always drift to something that's not healthy, not the best for you. And sometimes that intentionality is, is, it was just a reminder. I had someone remind me the other day, like Trevor, when's the last time you done this? And it was specifically talking about a day off and I couldn't give them a day. And sometimes you just need that person in your life, that person to remind you the iron that sharpens iron to just kind of reset you. Right. And so obviously that's our heart. Here's what we want to do. And I had that with me. Like, Hey, when's the last time you took a day off? I could not name one. It was well before I went to Potosi and all that kind of stuff in Booneville, Booneville. Um, so it was, I did, I, yesterday I did. And here's the crazy part. Here's what I've learned. Even when you're trying to be intentional, take the day off. Life is always life. And life is always life. And, uh, has some stuff happened yesterday. Didn't directly have to do with me, but it directly affected me. I don't know if you've ever had that kind of stuff. Maybe, uh, it's just something that goes on in your cell or in your block or in your, the house, or maybe even on the camp that you're on or the place that you're in
or the whatever. Um, maybe it's something back home. Maybe it's a family member back home. Something that goes on with a family member back home and it messes you up. I had that kind of stuff happen to me yesterday. Just triggers and stuff that honestly, I didn't even realize I still had in my heart. And so it's been this thing for the last, maybe 24 hours or so of just like, okay, wow. And maybe this will help you. Just telling you of my issues and my problems and everything I have going on. Had this stuff triggered this massive fear, um, anxiety, like, man, I don't want to go back to, to, to that. And I can't say everything that it is just for protection, like, but not of me, but just of the situation. And so what, what happened was those, I spent the rest of the day and even this morning, like, man, that really affected me. And I thought I had dealt with all of that. I thought I had, had processed all that, but there was some things that for lack of a better term triggered inside of me that I was like, all right, well, I need to bring this before the Lord. And so that's what I've really been doing the last, this morning I woke up and I still felt that almost like panic in my chest. And even though it was done, I still felt that. And I was like, all right, Lord, I want to deal with this. I want to deal with this in my heart. This is not how you created me to be this as a loving father. It's not how you want me to be. So Lord, I just want to invite you in this where we could heal this. And maybe that's, I don't know. I know I'm kind of just rambling about my own stuff. That's what I'm dealing with right now is it's just like, Lord, this was a very serious thing, felt the rush of fear and anxiety inside of me. It's like that where it literally makes you sick. And then it's like, wow,
I thought I had dealt with all of that. Obviously I haven't. And so it was just like, Lord, okay, I want to deal with that. I want to heal from that. I've got therapy tomorrow and this is going to be brought up. I can promise you that. And also I ran into a guy that I've not seen in years. And, um, there was some stuff with people that he was close to that, that we went through and we kind of just had a split of separate ways. I thought him and I were cool. It was not that case. And, um, I don't know if you've ever been around someone y'all thought you, you thought you were cool with, and they just completely gave you the cold shoulder. And then all of a sudden you're having all these fake argument. I don't know if y'all have ever dealt with that. And you're like, dude, who are you? Like, who are you to do this to me at the time? And then you start looking like the times I was there for you in this. And the times I was there for you in this. And the times I was there for you this. And I felt like the Lord just spoke to me and said, you don't know what he's going through. And I was like, so needless to say, I've had the Lord check in my heart a ton this week. I've had the Lord check in my heart or maybe, maybe seeing some things that day specifically, he checked my heart. That was last Thursday. Uh, and then yesterday it was like, okay, there's some things in my heart. I still want the Lord to heal. I still want the Lord to deal with, right? Like I don't want to live like that. And I know God always has a better way. So I don't know if me just rambling about my own issues helps or just shows you I'm, I'm not perfect, uh, by any means, by any means.
I just always wanted to grow in the Lord, uh, to champion this season. Of course, like that is obviously my heart. All right. Today, today we're starting a brand new series of talks today. As I have that, this is, um, the Alani new energy and that's that sure. Sure bet. Some call it Sherbert. I don't know. Sure bet swirl. I love those little Sherbert ice creams. I don't know if you remember those things. Gosh, do I love, I love ice cream in general. Here's what I understand about ice cream. Um, I've never had a bad flavor of ice cream. I've just had some that tastes better than others. All right. So, uh, I had some ice cream last night trying to eat my feelings as well. That didn't work out. Um, I was thinking about Joshua Wolf when I was in Potosi and he was talking about stress eating his feelings and all that. And, uh, and Riley was like, yeah, you just need to do it with protein. Something healthy. And he's like, yeah, well, that's not going to help my stress. And I was like, buddy, that is the truth. All right. Let me get my notes pulled up here. Starting a brand new series of talks. If you've never been here, uh, or watch one of our shows before, maybe somebody told you about the show, which that's how we all wrote together. So champion church, we look at it like this champion church is a rowboat, right?
So our rowboat is in the DOC all over the United States. And if you have subscribed to us and you, if you haven't, if you haven't, what are you doing? Subscribe, please. Lord row with us, pick up that or baby and row with us. And what we're doing, you say, well, Trev, I'm sitting in ad Sager. I'm sitting in, in a Washington state. I'm sitting in Maine. I'm sitting in our Kansas. I'm sitting in Missouri. I'm sitting in Florida. Maybe you're sitting right here in St. John's County, uh, in the same County that I'm sitting in right now. And you're in the DOC, whatever it might be. Here's how you row with us. You let someone know who is hurting around you. Hey, I watched this episode. That was the one testimony. The gentleman I read, uh, the other day, he's like, man, this guy tells him about this episode. He watched, it was called daddy's demons and issues. And he was talking about how it spoke directly to him. And that's what it's about. It's about cause someone else says something that is picking up your or, and that is rolling with us. That's what I'm doing when I'm sitting here. I'm just rolling with you. And what I'm expecting you, if you're a part of what we're doing here to row with us as well. And oftentimes it's just sharing.
This is what I'm watching. This is what helped me. This episode spoke to me. Maybe it's telling somebody back home, Hey, listen, go check this church out. Now this is, I've made this show. This champion church show is just for the Pando app, but all of my sermons and all of those kinds of things, how, how you teach the Bible. If you saw that clip, which also I know the black Hawks is like, Hey, can you give me that stuff, brother? It's coming. I promise. Um, but, uh, those different, I teach specifically on purpose and I do like specific teachings just on those things. That's on YouTube. So is our weekly services and whatnot. We have one or two, um, Pando app shows that I put on there, but for 95, 97% of them never go on YouTube is just for our DOC family, just for you, where I can just talk real to you and just be real with you. Um, but anyhow, rowing with us, it was cool. I met a lady named Debbie this past week and her son, Jason. Uh, he is in Missouri. Let me pull up his name here. Jason, a Hertzel Hertzel, H E R a Zelle, whatever Hertzel, H E R T Z E L L. Uh, his mom lived, uh, when Daytona, which is, which is about an hour away from the church or even maybe more and drove up to be with us on Sunday morning. I got to meet her, take a picture with her. She took a picture on her phone or I'd put it up here. Uh, but I thought that was incredible. I feel like this every week I'm meeting somebody, some family members, somebody like that, uh, that's coming in and saying, Hey, my family watches you also
shout, uh, oh, I can't say the, the, the, I'm going to say it fast. Shout out. I can't say that word. Not trying to get flagged. Uh, but, but, but, but speaking of rowing, you're letting your family know, check this, this church out, check this guy out. Some of you even that are in like different work camps have been tithing to champion blows my mind. I can't even believe that it means the world. Seriously. I just bought, I bought my turn. So anyhow, um, let me pull up here. I don't want to mess this name up. Uh, okay. Yeah. So Josiah, I heard from Josiah's family this past week. Uh, and then he said, Hey, I'm rolling with you. And he was like, can you put up NFL highlights? I wish I could. Josiah, some of my older episodes may or may not have them. Uh, but I can't put those up anymore, um, for copyright issues. All right. So I can't put those up anymore for that. Um, but anyhow, if you've never been with us, this is what I was going to say. Essentially. I I'm going to stop rambling a second. And then I want you to be in the moment. So usually we go on a ride on a motorcycle, a boat, a jet ski, a four wheeler, or something like that. Uh, I might actually switch it up this week of, of something that we haven't
done yet. Um, and then I'm gonna come back and I'm gonna teach, right? So I'm going to teach. you and speak to what you're hopefully speak to something that's going to help you champion what you're going through, but help you champion this season that you're in. And then I do just like a moment of like kind of grounding and we either we look at nature or we look at a city or whatever it might be. And it's just to kind of take in to have that moment of peace to kind of take in what we taught. And then I do segments called Can You Preach That and I take different videos and different things that maybe you all have suggested that's not copyrighted. And I do just a little segment. Can I preach that of all different things. I mean, we've done skateboarding. We have done mud bogs are for sure I get that one like you do mud bogs. We've done Rick Ross's car show, his arcade stuffy, but I mean, we've done all that kind of stuff. And then I try to do something at the end. I don't know if I'll do this this week. Right now I'm recording it. So obviously watch to the end to see if I do. But to help those that are wanting to get out. And when you get out, just say like this, wanting to make a legal living, wanting to make a real life living, that kind of stuff. A gentleman told me when I was in Potosi about a place called Second Chance You. And I think it's on one of y'all's tablets. I don't know. Maybe if you have Securus, I think it's on there called Second Chance University. And it kind of talks about that for people to get out and to make a legal living where you have these entrepreneur minds.
You have this work ethic. You have this drive to do things right. You want to provide for your family like you should, right. To do it in a legal way where you can provide for your family and be a blessing to others. That's what God calls us to do. OK. All right. Enough of me rambling. Let's jump in to today's show. Oh! Oh! Para. Oh yeah, we could go that way too. No, this way. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Thank you It's so much more fun now Fun right Stiekem een grasje
Get schnappen Les omblètes Come on We're not going to roll And we're dirty again Are you still walking? A little bit dirty We're now in Appaloosa Wait Yes A little bit more That's it That's it That's it That's it That's it That's it That's it Oh, that's cool. Yeah, it's pretty fun. Oh! No! Yeah. Oh! Oh! Horses. It's beautiful. Come on, let's go for a walk. Oh, that's exciting. It will probably be alright.
Well done. I don't know what you see. Come on. Come, come. Good boy. Good boy. Come on. Good boy. What did you say? Good boy. Good boy. Very good. Shall we go a bit further? Come on. Good job. Come on. Come on. Good job. It's the sound of footsteps They are walking Walking Laughing It's so funny They walk They walk Watching Fighting Rolling Rolling We are exiting the bike path
I think we can go straight through here Let's see what that is A little bush bush We were here just now Yes Let's have a look Let's have a look Oh I forgot to say really quick What is this John? I'm not gonna try to pronounce your last name. I think your nickname is spaghetti I sent this in his buddy made this Man, just absolutely. I mean whoo It's titled the origin of evil right so and he tells the story of that obviously you see anyhow just really What a great drawing you see the angel falling there that kind of stuff. So anyhow, thank you for sending that in man I really appreciate it And I'm willing to bet Let me see You said the gentleman's name who actually did this I want to give him a thank you as well. Where did you put that at? Anyhow, well, I can't find it but Thank you for sending this in Into the gentleman that drew it and then he bought it from him to show it Here. Okay Hebrews chapter 10 is where we're gonna go. So starting this new series Walking through the end of the book of Hebrews now to give a little bit of context of what is going on the Hebrews they would have grown up and and Judaism, right so they they would Have grown up as Jews they would have been in Judaism their entire life now they hear about Jesus, right? And I'm giving a very 30,000 foot view So forgive me if I overstep on something or say something incorrectly in this But it's really not the point of the sermon. You'll see the point of where we're going or the message I should say but
they are They've grown up in Judaism. That's what I was saying They've grown up in Judaism and they've done all of this kind of stuff And then eventually there's this moment where they hear about Jesus of Nazareth, right? They hear that Jesus left heaven came to earth that he was in fact the Messiah the fulfillment of all of the law and the prophets and the one that all of scripture was pointing to and Still points to to this day And so what they do is they now walk away from Judaism and they begin to walk in the ways of Jesus in that time It would have been called Practicing the ways of Jesus so they would have been living the sermon on the mount They would have been living picking up your cross and following Jesus daily They would have been living all of this kind of stuff the salt and light and let your good deeds shine before Men, so they'll praise your heavenly father. They would have been walking They walked away from Judaism in the ways of Judaism and now they are walking in truly following Jesus as the Messiah and they believe that he died and rose again three days later and Offered them true abundant life the same thing he offers from me and you and listen I will unashamedly ask you if you've never given your life to Christ. Maybe today's the day to do it It starts with a prayer But it is accepting the work that Jesus did on the cross at Calvary died and rose again three days later for you And I to not be held with our sin or shame and our shortcomings over our head for all of eternity but instead for them to be forgiven if we accept and believe the work that he's done and to be in Relationship with our Creator with our Heavenly Father and then what happens is we put Jesus as the king of our life He sits on the throne of our heart. I've talked about that a ton in past episodes But that is what it is like to be a Christian Yes it might start with a prayer but it is a life lived out as believing Jesus is who he says he is and living the life that He tells us to live because he sits on the throne of our life. It is consuming his word and so his word becomes everything that consumes the world around
us. That is what it is like to be a disciple of Jesus. And that's what these people in the book of Hebrews are doing. The issue is this, they've had a ton of persecution against them. They've had a ton of pushback against them. See when they were in Judaism, Judaism was still legal in that day, even with the Romans, but Christianity was not. See they were told to call Jesus is Lord and to say Jesus is Lord. The problem is that was a saying that came from saying that Caesar is Lord. And if you said that Caesar was Lord, or excuse me, Jesus is Lord, that means Caesar is not Lord. That is a persecution just waiting to happen. And it was happening. They were being, all of their things were being stolen from them and taken from them by the government and left for nothing. And in the beginning there was actually joy in it. They were, they're excited that they could serve God and suffer in this way. But all of us know this, and this is a human nature thing, that eventually when pressure is continually pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing and persecution is coming against you and against you and against you, what happens is this. Eventually you get tired, man. You get tired. And something tells you, maybe it's just not worth it. Maybe it's just time I shrink back. Maybe that's where you're at today, right now. Maybe you've tried to do this Jesus thing. Maybe you've, you went to church. Maybe you've been baptized. Maybe you've been watching Pando. Maybe you go to chapel, whatever it might be, but it feels like life is just pushing
back against it and pushing back against it and pushing back against it. And hear me, this is where you've got to decide, is Jesus who he really says he is? And if he is, then even though life is pushing back, and we know this life is always life but even when life is pushing back, maybe people from your old life are pushing back. It is not the time as Hebrews 10 tells us to shrink back, but instead to stop and to remember who and why you gave your life to Christ in the first place, to remember the faith you had then to trust God from the first time and to remind yourself, listen, if he was faithful then, he will be faithful now, no matter how much life I am navigating or pushing back through. I love that the writer of Hebrews tells us, listen, do not shrink back, but instead to hold tight to that profession of faith in Jesus. That's what we need to do. So Hebrews 10 tells us, let me pull it up here. Let me get back to the top. Sorry. Let me get back to the top of my notes. He says, don't throw away this confident trust in the Lord. This is Hebrews 10. Remember the great reward it brings you. Confident trust in Jesus brings rewards. That's what God says. It's not something I'm making up. It's not just something that sounds good. It does, but either God's word is true or it's not. And it says it brings a great reward. So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you. He says, patient endurance is what you need now so that you'll continue to do God's will. So for you, if you feel like, man, I just want to go back to who I was because it's Jesus saying, man, it's not always easy.
It's not always great. It's not all rainbows and butterflies. And listen, I love some Skittles, right? And I love them little flying butterflies. I should say I love butterflies. I could really care less. But the point is this Christianity is not just all cake and ice cream. Christianity sometimes has a lot of oppression. Christianity sometimes has a lot of pushback and we don't respond and a type of like a warfare back against it, against that person. We are not warring against flesh and blood as Paul would tell us in Ephesians chapter six, but against principalities and powers and rulers in the high places, which means this, that person that can't stand you because you're a Christian, you're not warring against your, that person you are warring against principalities and powers that are in the heavenly realms. That's Ephesians chapter six. So just know this, it might not be the person, it's probably maybe the spirit that's controlling that person. So for you don't respond back in your flesh for you, since you carry the same spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead and greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. According to James chapter four, verse four, you don't respond in the person you are. You respond with the spirit that you have, which is the Holy Spirit of God. And let me just give you a little tip. Darkness can't stop light. I'm fired up today y'all because I know what it's like when people are pushing back and you feel evil pushing back and you feel life pushing back and you're like, maybe it's just easier to go back to the life I will. Like I had no, no, no, no, no, no. Endurance is what you need now so that you'll continue to do God's will
Remember this God's promised us things. I'm going to tell you this God has promised us things Not just forgiveness from your sins, which is huge Not just to be with him for eternity, which is huge, but he's promised us things. Yeah. Yeah, but I'm sitting behind these walls I'm sitting behind these fences. He's promised you things still the promises of God do not stop Just at the property border of wherever you're sitting The promises of God don't stop before it goes into your block or into your house or into your cell The promises of God can penetrate all of that and here's what second Peter chapter 1 says his divine power Has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness and through the knowledge of him Who has called us to his own glory and excellence by which he has granted to us his precious and very great Promises so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature Having escaped the corruption that is in this world because of that sinful desire. I want us to see that God has given us Promises even you right there. That's what it tells us. Don't shrink back. Don't give up There is a great reward and then if you're reading Hebrews chapter or the whole book of Hebrews What I love is that the writer is telling us how much better Jesus is than everything How much better Jesus is than the angels how much better Jesus is than Moses? How much better Jesus is from the Old Covenant? How much better Jesus is from the high priest like all that kind of stuff is like Jesus is better Don't shrink back to your old life Don't fall into that and then the shift happens It's like the whole letter takes this massive shift It's like okay if I'm not gonna shrink back then how do I do that and we get Hebrews chapter 11 Verse 1 that says this now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not Seen now faith is the substance of things Hope for the evidence of things not seen if you have a paper Bible I encourage you to star this verse underline this verse memorize this verse now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not
Seen now, let me teach you a few things about some words here. I do a little deep dive on Hebrews chapter 11 faith is Not just something In in like an object like this that I might know So when I'm sitting on a stool right now, and when I came in earlier and I sat down Some would say well Trevor you had faith to just sit on that stool and not worry If not, it could hold you and that's true, but that's not biblical faith That's not what we're talking about. I'm having faith right now that the camera is still recording I'm having faith right now that the audio over here is still recording I'm having faith right now that this caffeine and there's a lot of new energy is sure bad to sure Bert. So we're It's put some caffeine in these veins baby, but that's not biblical faith Biblical faith is Relational and that's what I want you to get biblical faith is Relational There's this couple that goes to our church and they help In what we call first impressions. So several of you already know when you get out You're gonna come visit champion when you get there. Here's the good news. We have water bottles out. We have doughnuts out We have mints. We have the little Chasing what's those things called a little bitch? What do they call Bischoff? Bischoff chases in the studio. Oh, we have coffee all that kind of stuff and so it's just to kind of make like man if you want to just kind of make the experience just just a little Bit sweeter literally, right? And we call that team first impressions And so there's a couple that leads first impressions and it's a whole team But there's a couple of these first impressions and here's what I know Every Sunday morning, they're gonna be there. They're gonna make sure the doughnuts are there They're gonna make sure the coffee is made They're gonna make sure the water bottles are out. They're gonna make sure the mints are stocked They're gonna make sure they always do something sweet little extra. Whatever seasonal it might be it. It's it's it's really cool
They're good. I know for without a shadow of a doubt that all of Everything's gonna be taken care of because those people have proven themselves Faithful to show up do what needs to be done and go above and beyond right now Why do I say that I have faith in them because it's a relational faith That I've seen them come through time and time and time and time and time again Now i'm wired that way to trust somebody and have faith in them if you will because that's how god made me Why because that's how i'm supposed to trust god see our biblical faith is based on faith It's based on faith and it's based on faith and it's based on faith Relational I want you to get this biblical faith is Relational it is trust. I when I say I have faith in Yahweh When I say I have faith in Jesus when I say I have faith in the Holy Spirit when I have faith in the Trinity Here is what I'm saying. I have faith in I am having trust in That God is who he says he is that he will do what he said He's going to do and he is trustworthy and 10,000 times better than I can even begin to imagine That's what faith is. It is simply trust For me, I don't think you can separate the two if I have faith in God It's because I trust God that he is going to do what he said He's going to do one of my favorite verses in all the Bible is numbers 23 19 God is not a man that he should lie or a son of man that he should Rechange his mind some translation would say or he should repent Has he said and will he not do it or has he spoken and will he not fulfill it? This is why I have faith in God because he's not a man that he should lie if he said it He is not going to change his mind. He is going to do it biblical faith is Relational faith and that's what we have to know. And so I look at it like this. Who do you trust the most? Think about it. Who do you trust the most? Now multiply it by 10 million and you haven't even begin to scratch the surface of how trustworthy
Yahweh is That is the faith we have in Christ does that make sense? That is the faith we have in Jesus I wrote this down. My faith is Relational in him and impacts my Circumstantial because I have faith in who God is and that he loves me more than I could ever imagine 10,000 times more than I could ever imagine That that he wants the best for me and that I am his son or for some of you his daughter Whatever ladies and gents, right because of that it now impacts my Circumstantial it impacts my circumstances because of my trust in God Knowing he wants best for me knowing he wants to speak to me knowing he wants to lead me and however Everything else we fill in of that second Peter He's given us great and precious promises because of that relational side now I want that to autumn. I don't know if automatically is the best word, but essentially just transfer right over into my Circumstantial so when that moment happens that I was telling you guys earlier in the episode I had to have them have this time where my heart is racing My body has is tingling all over because of it because of anxiety and fear I had to ground myself for a moment and realize wait a minute. God is still God. He still loves me I trust he still wants the best for me This is an ideal, but I'm gonna let my trust now begin to infiltrate my circumstances. That is Faith faith is Trust it says well, how are you gonna stick to what God's calling you to do? how are you not going to turn back to your life Hebrews 11 1 now faith is the Substance now some translations would say assurance or to be sure of the reality of but here's what that word substance in Hebrews 11 1 Communicates to us. It is something solid underneath you a Foundation a settled confidence Substance means this let me just read to you from my nose for a second time substance means what I'm hoping for has not fully arrived
yet But because I trust God it is already Substantial enough to affect how I live today This goes a lot if you go back and watch the last episode I think was the last episode of bold action go back and watch that that is essentially what substance is I wrote it down like this faith lets God's promises Affect today's decisions and actions. That's the substance like I'm trusting God so much and his promises And maybe I need to do a whole episode just on the promises of God, but I'm sure there's some on pando So maybe just just type in the promises of God on there. I'm sure of the thousands of videos that are on here Oh, I want to say this too Thank you all for always rolling with us because when we're trending when you see champion trending that we're all trending We're all trending baby. You're up there with this number one number two, whatever might be so when when champions trending we're all trending But there's a lot of good stuff on panda, right? We've established that and especially on the promises of God So maybe just search promises of God Maybe I'll do an episode that on a different time, but faith lets God's promises affect today's decisions and actions That's when I know I have the substance of actually trusting God. All right So use Noah for example. No rain yet, but he starts building. That's the substance. Think about Abraham. No map yet. God just told him to get moving, so he got up and started walking. That's the substance. Think about Sarah. No baby yet, but eventually it says she considers the one who promised faithful. That is the substance of things hoped for, right? And the evidence of things unseen. So faith is trust. Let me back up. Don't, you have given your life to Christ. Don't be tempted to go back because life is still life and stay the course of what he's told you to do. Patient endurance is what you need. Go read the end of Hebrews chapter 10, right? And then it's like if someone asks, okay, well, how do I do that? Okay. It is trusting God. Now faith is the substance of what you have, the concrete of what you have of things hoped for. We're going to talk about hope more in just a moment. And the evidence of things unseen. Now that word evidence there, evidence translates a deep conviction or proof. I wrote it down like this. Evidence is not necessarily something I can show you with my eyes. It is a settled conviction within me that what God has said
is true. The other day I had a buddy call me. It's Friday. I was getting off work. He called me and he doesn't always call me. So I was like, okay, this is a little bit different. So answer, we ended up being on the phone for a little bit of an hour, which is incredibly rare for me. We ended up being on the phone for a little bit over an hour. And in this conversation, he just needed some input. He needed to vent, but then he just needed some input of a situation that he was dealing with. And there's no like clear black or white answer in this. And a lot of times when you're dealing with multiple people and family and all that kind of stuff, that's kind of how it goes. And so I told him, I said, man, I wish I could tell you the exact thing. Oh, just do this, this, and this. I said, but here's what I will tell you to do. I said, let's look at the promises of God and let's grab one of those. So what he needed was wisdom. And so I said, well, James one five tells you that if you need wisdom to ask for it and he'll give it to you in abundance. And so I said, okay, so you need wisdom, right? So I was like, when you're praying, you're going to ask Lord, I'm asking you to give me wisdom of how to handle this situation. I said, and when you pray it, don't pray it thinking, well, I hope God does. Absolutely. No, no, no, no, no. You're going to pray it with that evidence. And I went right here to Hebrews 11. I said, your trust is going to be Lord. I'm grabbing ahold of your promises that you are good. And now you're going to give me the wisdom that I need in this situation. But the evidence is going to be Lord. I know that I know that I know you are going to answer me with wisdom. That is the evidence, the deep conviction of, I know that I know that I know that God has heard my prayers and I don't know when he's going to answer, but he is going to answer. That's the evidence. That's what it holds onto. And you know, you have that deep conviction. Let me, let me say this before I wrap it up. When you begin to thank him for it, when you can say beforehand, Lord, I thank you that you're already handling this. That's how you know that you have already believed in your heart without a shadow of a doubt. God's going to come through. God is going to come through. Think of it like this. If somebody gives you something, if I was to give you this Elani, I said, Hey man, I bought you this Elani. I got you this Elani. What would your natural reaction be? Thank you. Why? Because you have received something from someone who loves you. Natural reaction. Thank you. It's the same with God. When we receive something from someone who loves us being our heavenly father, we begin to thank him for it. Now, you know, that you know, that you know that you are trusting God and he's going to come through with that thing that you're
hoping for. When you begin to thank him before you even see it. Jesus says this at Mark 11, 24, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it. Meaning it's already done and it will be yours. Believe that it's already done and God has given it to you and it will be yours. That's the faith you have. I'm believing it's already done. You've already handled it. So I told this guy, you just got to know God's already sending the wisdom. You just haven't walked in it yet. It's already done. So I told him, Lord, I asked you to give me wisdom. And I thank you that you're giving me wisdom to handle this as a godly man. That's what, that was the exact prayer I told him to pray. Lord, I thank you that you're giving me wisdom. Now I said, listen, don't thank him until you believe that you know, that you know, that, you know, if you're not there yet, just still pray. Philippians 4, 6 tells us this. It says, don't be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. So listen, there might be a moment you're still in prayer. You're still in this supplication, but you'll know that you have. The evidence of it when you begin to thank him for it when you just say lord I thank you that you're going to give it to there's some things going on Uh, and like that are really good in my life right now Really great opportunities that I can't necessarily talk about yet because I haven't signed any contracts yet But there's some really cool stuff going on and i'm like lord I know that you're going to give me wisdom to handle this right and then it just became the part of like lord I thank you that you have given me the wisdom. I thank you that you've given me the words I thank you that you've opened the door. I want to travel more to prisons and jails and work camps The door isn't open yet But I know that I know that I know that god has called me To come alongside you and to row and if I could come stand in your ci. Oh speaking of mary Ci i'm coming out there september 19th Marion ci i'm coming out there september 19th But I want to do my lord. I feel like you've called me to do that So i'm believing that that you're opening the door and for these places that are maybes lord I thank you that if this is your will you are opening the door what's happening. I trust god the Substances i'm putting in applications volunteer applications. I'm trusting them the evidence is I know that I know that I know
That you want me to roll alongside these residents To roll alongside the doc I hope this is making sense Thank him beforehand Even jesus did it Before he calls lazarus out of the tomb luke chapter 11 go read it He thanked the lord. He said thank you lord that you hear me He hadn't even said lazarus come forth, but he thanked him beforehand. That's when you know, you've got the evidence Next week we're going to talk about hope things you hope For i'm going to make it I will say this it'll probably be the one of the most practical messages I have ever given in that way because hope can seem so lofty it can seem so far out but at the same time Hope is that thing That fuels those god dreams inside of you. I read that brother's testimony the other day. He said I watched this episode He watched it from 1 a.m to 3 a.m And he said afterwards He said I felt something I haven't felt for a long time And it was hope and that Is what jesus does If you've never given your life to jesus, maybe today's the day you do it man. Pando makes it incredibly easy There's a button right below me. It talks about salvation If you're ready to make jesus the king of your life To declare your allegiance to jesus Click that button for sure write the testimony and afterwards. Let me know man how it's speaking to you what spoke to you I love love love love to hear brother just gave his life to christ on death row in texas the other day Loved reading that story loved I think I believe your name is steven Loved reading your story steven and i'm praying for you. I'm praying for you guys
All right, hebrews chapter 10 hebrews chapter 11. Go read it. Let it speak to you. Let it feed your heart If you're like man, I don't trust god Romans chapter 10 tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god. So if faith is simply trust But you're like man, I honestly don't trust god yet Then let his word speak into your heart go back and watch the episode on how to read your bible I'll tell you where to start in your bible start in john chapter one, right? Read the book of john and then go read the the letters of john and then after that I would say go read the book Of acts right and then after that and i'm trying to do this off memory Then I would read matthew mark and luke right? I would consume these things get to know jesus Because the bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god And the more that the word of god that your heart and your soul hears the word of god The more you're going to trust him. My name is trevor. I hope this message has spoke to you I can't thank y'all enough for rowing with us And whatever way that might look like for you keep on Rowing we're going to get into the rest of the episode do a little grounding stuff I'm gonna do how can you preach that but for for now what it is? This week we're going to draw the classic Porsche 911. So as always, try and draw lightly for the beginning part, and use your whole arm to swing with, to get nice smooth curves and straight lines. So the first thing we'll do is a wheel over here, and then we'll measure one, two, and a quarter wheel. Quarter wheel is further back, and then we'll measure a wheel, and then we'll measure a wheel, and then we'll measure a wheel, and then we'll measure a wheel, and then we'll measure a wheel, and then we'll measure a quarter wheel further back, and draw another one. Now we need a nice straight line that starts level with the middle of the front wheel, out in front, cuts through, but with a slight slope, so it gets slightly higher at the back.
So it cuts through the back wheel slightly higher. That's the kind of rake of your car, and it's also the top edge of the bumper. So about two-thirds of the wheel out in front, draw a tiny curve, and make that into a box, that's your front bumper. And about three-quarters of the wheel out the back, a tiny curve, and make that into a box, that's your back bumper. Now we need some indicators on there, so if you come back slightly from that, a slight slope, and come back about halfway between the wheel and the front of the car, there's your front indicator. Same at the back here, except there you've got a vertical line for the back bumper indicator. Similar sort of height. Come back, and then a slightly shorter one, just a slope there, that's your back indicator. Now we need a line that runs across the top of the wheels here, that's quite a tricky one, so you want to measure about a quarter of a wheel above your front wheel.
And we need a straight line, well, almost straight line, but with the tiniest curve in it, so you're just using your arm to swing slightly as you draw it. See how it's just got an ever-slightly higher point here than it has at the end? That's what you want. We'll put the headlight in, so it's a bit steeper than your indicator, and the top edge needs to run into that top line there. And now this line, when it gets to level with the front of the back wheel, it needs to drop off and slope down to here. But he wants to do it nice and smoothly. It's easier if you turn your page. That's better. We'll put the bottom of the car in as well because it looks a bit weird at the moment. So that'll be parallel to this line, and halfway between there and the ground. Just put a line in there, and you can come back from the bumper slightly and drop that down so it meets that one.
Same at the back. Come down, level with the indicator, and drop that so it runs nicely into this. And the bottom part of your car, we can add the front edge of the door. And it looks like it's almost a vertical line, but just put a slight curve into it by swinging your fingers like this. And we need to know where the windscreen starts. If you go half a wheel further back than the front wheel, come up to the top, that's going to be where the screen slopes. And the door will tilt round to meet it. And the height of that side window is about two thirds of a wheel, something like that. It goes across a bit, and then that also drops off. I'm going to tilt it again to meet that point down there. So you want a nice sweep. That's your basic 911 shape, isn't it? We can put
the side windows in. So come to the middle of your back wheel, go up, and that's as far back as your side windows will be. Follow the door and then tilt. They don't drop down like this line does, they start to tilt upwards. And they curve round at that point and run in to these arcs at the rear. roof line. It looks a bit steep there, it's because we haven't got the curve of the front screen in, so you can angle that front screen more, show the curve of the bonnet, and show that dipping off behind the headlight, and you can thicken up your roof slightly. Um, what else do we need? Oh, we've got a quarter light, so we've got a small division there, and parallel to that one we need another one back here for the back edge of the door, and the back edge of the door starts there, curves around, and we need a line here that has the same sort of tilt as that, but again has a slight curve in it, because it's on a curved side of a car, and the bottom edge of the door will be halfway between the bottom of the car and this line. So there's your door, um, now we can drop the ground in, that'd be a good thing to have, and we can start to make the car look a bit more beautiful, because at the moment it's just kind of laid out, we can start pressing a bit more firmly on these darker areas that'll be under the car. And we can show the wheels on the far side of the car, the shadow on the ground, and you might see the bottom of the engine and the exhaust sticking out under there. You can add a bit of shading to these indicators because they're usually a bit darker. There aren't many details on this car, it's quite a simple design, but there is a hole there for your, um, torsion bars, and there's a door handle here.
You might see the seat just poking up inside, and a wing mirror there, and you can just darken the inside a bit, and you can just darken the inside of the underside of the roof over there. I'm just going to tilt this again, just to give the cabin some thickness between the front edge and the back edge, just to hopefully make it feel a bit more three-dimensional. And that's pretty much your basic 911. You can customise it with duck tails and graphics. If you want to add the Carrera decals down the side, this line will be the top edge, and the door will be the bottom edge. That's your basic 911 shape. Some windscreen wipers would be good. Hope you enjoyed that. Let me know in the comments if you did, and tune in for another one next week. All right, can you preach that? Sitting in traffic Thursday morning, moving a little slow. Been up since one, though. Been up since one, just didn't sleep, got up, started working, getting this episode done. But can you preach that? Let's look at the fishing with Jason and I, and then the diving in the Maldives. I think that's how you say it. Maldives. The Maldives, whatever it's called. Here's what I was thinking about. You never know what's going on under the surface. You never know what's going on under the surface. And that can be two things. You never know what somebody else is dealing with under the surface. And then at the same time, you never know what God is doing under the surface that you cannot see yet. You never know. So don't doubt it, man. We talked about faith. Don't doubt it. Don't doubt what God could be doing with what you can't see right now. There's stuff going on in the oceans we cannot see unless you get down there and you're swimming, you're scooping around, or whatever it might be. They're like Scooby Steve. But anyhow, the point is this. If I was to preach it, you never know what God is doing under the surface of something. And at the same time, you never know what someone else is dealing with under the surface, but you never know what God could be doing as someone else's life under the surface. The question is, will you just show up and be the part that you can and to never lose faith? ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪

I think I said this either the last one or the one before there is nothing wrong with possessions As long as I say like this, there's nothing wrong with having possessions as long as possessions don't have you Nothing wrong with having things as long as things don't have you if you can give it away Then God can trust you with it. That's my that's my thought on that. It's cool to see what Rick Ross has obviously But that's my thought there, but I also thought about this. You're gonna see in here. If you ever dreamed about making your own money on your own schedule, running your own business and hitting the open road, Hot Shot Trucking could be your ticket but it's not as easy as buying a truck and heading out. In this video, I'm going to give you a full step-by-step guide on how to start Hot Shot Trucking in 2025 and how you can do it the right way. Let's roll. Hot Shot Trucking is all about hauling small, time-sensitive loads. Think freight that is too small for a big rig but is too urgent to wait. Typically, you'll drive a heavy-duty pickup truck with a flatbed or a gooseneck trailer. Hot Shot drivers are the freelancers of the freight. Fun fact, did you know that Hot Shot Trucking originally started in Texas in the oil fields where parts needed to be delivered fast? Yes, if you do it smart, a typical Hot Shot driver can earn between $60,000 and $120,000 a year. That's big money, guys. Your profit depends on the load rates, expenses like fuel and insurance, and how efficiently you run. So important. Key costs to remember, truck and trailer payments, fuel, insurance can be $8,000 per year, maintenance and load or subscriptions, guys. So important. Here's the checklist you'll need to hit the road legally in your Hot Shot and also safely. Number one, at least a three-fourth ton or a one-ton pickup. Even about like a F-350 or a Ram 3500, the best trucks to get it done. Number two, trailer.
Gooseneck trailers are the most popular for hot... shock trucks. Number three, the business LLC or sole precautionship for liability protection. Number four, DOT and MC numbers. Apply through the MCSA website. Number five, insurance, liability, cargo, and physical damage cover. Number six, medical card DOT physical exam is required. And don't forget your low security gear, straps, chains, binders. You got to have those because those fines for unsecured lows are not cheap guys. These are common mistakes beginners make with hotshot trucking. Guys, if you want to succeed in hotshot trucking, avoid these rookie mistakes. Under charging for lows, you have to know your CPM, cost per mile. Guys, that's why freight is so down right now. People taking trash loads, not tracking expenses and cash flow, driving too many empty miles, meaning deadhead miles, ignoring maintenance, breakdown kills profits, not communicating in the trucking communities. Remember, trucking isn't just driving, it's a business first. Hotshot trucking can open the doors to financial freedom if you go into it prepared. One of these vehicles cost you half as much to get into. The other one makes you nearly double the revenue. Which one actually wins when you run the real math? A lot of people look at cargo van and think it's a starter vehicle. Something you do before you graduate to a box truck. I know I did when I first started, but that is a mistake. These are two completely different business models and depending on your goals, one of them might be a smarter play for you right now. I'm Big Vic, I run my own carrier operation and I have worked with operators in both of these worlds. Today we are going round by round. Startup costs, revenue, net take-home, lifestyle and ceiling. Real numbers, no fluff. Let's get it. Let me set the baseline so this comparison actually means something. Cargo van, we are talking a full-size van, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster or Mercedes Sprinter. Running last-mile deliveries and courier work through platforms like Veho, Roadie or OnTrack. Or building direct shipper contracts with local businesses and distributors. No CDL, no special endorsement. You can be rolling within weeks of making the decision. Box trucks, 26-foot straight truck, owner
operator running regional freight, LTL, B2B deliveries and broker loads. Also no CDL if you stay under 26,000 gross vehicle weight. But the scale of the operation, the loads and the revenue opportunity are fundamentally different. Same model, different machines. Here's how they stack up. Round one, getting in the door. Cargo van startup, a solid used Transit or ProMaster runs $8,000 to $35,000 depending on year, mileage and condition. Add your MC authority, ELD device, commercial insurance deposit and first month of operating costs. You realistically launch for $12,000 to $45,000 all-in. And the entry path is genuinely accessible. Lower vehicle cost means a smaller loan, a lower monthly note and more breathing room in that critical first 90 days when you are still finding your lanes and building relationships. Now box truck startup, a solid-use 26-footer runs $15,000 to $45,000. Add authority, ELD, liftgate maintenance, first insurance deposit and working capital. You are realistically at $22,000 to $60,000 to launch right. Not impossible, but meaningfully more capital required. And the risk on a bad first month hits harder when your overhead is higher from day one. So round verdict, cargo van wins round one. Lower vehicle costs, lower setup costs, faster time to launch and more forgiving risk profile in the first 90 days. The entry barrier is the lowest of any freight operation we have compared on this channel. Round two, money in the door. Cargo van grows revenue. A well-run van operation doing last mile and courier work can generate $4,000 to $8,000 a month. Some more. If you're doing more, fantastic. Operators running contracts through platforms like Veho, OnTrack or Rody or building direct relationships with local distributors and medical supply companies can push towards the top of that range. But the ceiling on a solo cargo van is real. You are limited by cubic feet, payload capacity, 1,500 to 3,500 pounds and the type of freight you can physically carry. Now I know some guys try to squeeze more weight on those vans, but it is what it is. Box truck grows revenue. Running spot freight and broker loads with solid execution, you are at $8,000 to $14,000 a month average. Some guys do more. Some guys do less. Operators with direct shipper relationships, dedicated lanes or white
glove contracts can push $15,000 to $18,000. Now the box truck can carry $8,000 to $15,000 pounds depending on if that's CDL or non-CDL. You're accessing completely different freight, palletized loads, LTL shipments, B2B deliveries that a van simply cannot touch. That unlocks a higher revenue tier. Raw revenue goes to box truck, but stay with me because gross is not net. Round verdict, box truck wins round two. Nearly double the gross revenue potential due to payload capacity and access to higher value freight. The van cannot compete on raw volume, but the margin story in round three changes the picture. This is when it gets real. What do you actually keep? Let me walk you through a solid month on each vehicle. Real composite numbers from operators running these setups right now. And if you have different numbers, you're welcome to drop them in the comment section. A cargo van solid month, net take home on a well-run cargo van, $3,300 to $4,800 a month. These are averages. Don't get crazy in the comments. And here's the number that matters most. You are keeping 55 to 62 cents on every dollar you earn. That is your margin percentage. Now, box truck, solid month, net take home on a well-run box truck, $5,600 to $8,100 a month. Strong, but look at the margin. You are keeping 50 to 55 cents on the dollar. Slightly tighter than the van and the floor is higher when things go wrong. Here's what this tells you. The box truck makes more in raw dollars, but the cargo van is the more efficient machine per dollar earned. Less overhead, less risk, tighter margin. If you break down for a week in a cargo van, you are out maybe $300 in lost revenue. Break down in a box truck for a week on a slow month, and you are staring at a deficit. Round verdict, box truck wins round three net dollars. Cargo van wins on margin efficiency. Box truck nets more absolute dollars at peak, but the cargo van's lower overhead means less risk, better margin percentage, and a gentler learning curve when things do not go perfectly. Money matters, but so does the life you are building around money. Cargo van, you are home every night for most people, full stop. Last mile and courier work is almost entirely local or regional. You control your schedule. You pick your contracts. You build your day around your life. That flexibility is real, and it is something operators on the box truck side do not always have, especially if you're OTR. Now, box trucks, you have more flexibility than a semi, but less than a van. Regional lanes can get you home most nights. If you are chasing spot freight across longer distances, you might be out one or two nights a week. Manageable, but it is a different cadence. The van also wins on parking navigation and access. You can get a cargo van into residential neighborhoods, tight urban corridors, and smaller facilities that a
box truck cannot touch. That matters if you are building a local delivery business. Round verdict, cargo van wins round four. Home every night, full schedule control, and access to tighter delivery environments. If lifestyle and flexibility are part of your equation, and they should be, the van wins this round clearly. Last round, where does each path go when you are ready to grow? Cargo van ceiling as a solo operator, you will hit a hard cap around 6,000 to 8,000 a month gross, and scaling past that means adding vans and drivers. But here's what most people miss. Van fleet scale fast, low cost per vehicle, easier driver recruitment because no CDL is required, more accessible financing for additional units. A three van operation is genuinely achievable within 18 to 24 months of starting if you are running it right. Box truck ceiling as a solo operator, higher gross, higher net. Top operators doing a well net 7,000 to 9,000 a month consistently. The freight you access scales in value as you build shipper relationships. A direct dedicated lane with the manufacturer or distributor can be very lucrative and very stable. But adding a second box truck costs more, requires CDL if you have CDL trucks or non-CDL drivers, which are harder to find and more expensive, and the financing barrier per unit is definitely higher. Van wins on scalability, speed, and fleet accessibility. Box truck wins on per unit earning power. Your end goal determines which ceiling matters more to you. So the round verdict, cargo van wins round five on scalability. Box truck wins on per unit ceiling. If you want to build a fleet fast with lower capital per unit, van is the play. Want to maximize solo operator earnings before scaling, box truck has the edge. Here's the final score, full breakdown side by side. Cargo van wins on startup costs, insurance, fuel, margin percentage, lifestyle, and fleet scalability. Box truck wins on payload, load type access, gross revenue, and net take-home dollars. So which one actually makes more money? Same answer I give on every one of these comparisons. It depends on what more means to you. More money per month right now with higher overhead and higher risk, a box truck. More efficiency, dollar for dollar, lower risk, more lifestyle control, and a faster path to fleet, cargo van. Neither answer is wrong. Both are real business. So here's my take. Here's what I tell operators in both vehicles. The people who struggle in the cargo van space treat it like a gig instead of a business. They chase loads without tracking their cost per mile.
They take every contract without running the math first. The van is not the problem. The business discipline is the problem. Vice versa, the people who struggle in the box truck space undercapitalize the launch. They go in with no reserve, hit a repair in month two and cannot weather it. The truck is not the problem. The financial preparation is the problem. Either vehicle can make you real money. The question is, which one fits where you are right now? Your capital, your market, and your bandwidth to operate it correctly. Know that and you will make the right call.
