Demons, Daddies & Issues
This message walks through one of the wildest chapters in the Gospel of Mark and pulls together stories that seem completely different on the surface: a demon possessed man, a desperate father, a dying little girl, and a woman hiding behind years of pain and shame. But underneath all of it is one deep truth. Jesus is still pursuing people everyone else has written off.
“Demons, Daddy’s & Issues” is an honest conversation about identity, fear, healing, perspective, and the way Jesus speaks to people in their worst moments. From the woman with the issue of blood being called “daughter” to Jairus learning to trust Jesus while his world falls apart, this message is about more than miracles. It is about what happens when Jesus restores not just your situation, but the way you see yourself. If you have ever felt too broken, too far gone, forgotten, ashamed, anxious, depressed, angry, addicted, or labeled by your past, this message is for you. There is still purpose for your life, and there is still a Father who calls you His.

However it might be, it matters. I read every single one of you. Like some of y'all rowing just encouraging me. Like I get so encouraged. I read all of the comments. I don't respond to many, but I promise you every single day I read them. And then even when I see y'all say something about me, it's just encouraging. That's a part of rowing. Jacob Polly, thank you so much for sending this in. I read it earlier and it wrecked me. I just, I was emotional. Essentially what you were saying is thank you so much for doing what we're doing. You prayed that the smooth release, getting back into society, that kind of stuff. And then said, hey, listen, I just want to give something financially to help. And it just, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I cannot tell you how much it means truly to all of us. Got some cool new pictures in. Rick G, a great one of Jesus in the tomb. He also asked about my little baby sister. Watched the Easter bonus episode. You saw she was incredibly pregnant. I think she was literally right at 40 weeks in that service. She did have the baby, everything is great. I think I responded to your family member that reached out to us online. It is Boyz n the Hood, it's Eazy-E's song, but it's just like an AI version of it, all right? So that's what that is. I don't know. What did I do this week? I'm actually kind of tired. I'm in here filming on Tuesday, which is not all the time what I do, kind of just in the middle of the day. It's raining. Also, I saw this cloud above my house. I was leaving this morning. I thought the Lord was about to come back through it. And it didn't show it in the video as good, but I'm telling you, it was vivid.
A rainy, rainy day here in Northeast Florida, which is good. We're in St. Augustine, which is good. What did I do last week? So I had a great therapy session last Thursday. Great therapy session. If therapy is available where you're at, and I know it's not everywhere, take advantage of it if it is. I'm all about it. It has saved my life more times than I'd like to admit. I've been incredibly open on this show about my issues with depression and insecurities and all that kind of stuff. So I do therapy pretty much once a week. Unless I'm having a really rough week or whatever. But I had a great therapy session. It led to me actually taking Chase and fishing. We had went fishing and I don't even know when. Caught some fish. I think we were only out for like two hours. That's it. We were able to catch some fish and catch a couple of sharks. Out of the boat. Don't let, yep. Here he comes. There you go. Here he comes. Yeah, there he is.
Then what else? Friday, someone gave me, and so myself, Felicia, my son, Chasen, and my nephew, Kingston. We all went to Friday Night Smackdown. And so that was pretty cool. His favorite is Cody Rhodes. And we don't watch it a ton. If you've kept up with the show, you know I love old wrestling. Like 90s wrestling. You know, WCW, WWF, Monday Night Wars. That kind of stuff. Early 2000s, but very, very early 2000s. Like The Rock and his Prime. If you can smell what The Rock is. If you smell! So yeah, anyhow, we were able to go to that. That was pretty cool. Mother's Day was Sunday. Church was full. It always is on Mother's Day, I feel like. Sermon was okay. I didn't, I'm gonna give you that sermon. This will be a little bit different, made for you guys. I'm gonna teach it here in just a second. Oh, that's what I was saying. Here's how it goes. My goodness.
You act like I, you know, you would think I don't do this all the time. If you've never been here, here's what we do. I give us some rambling, some just kind of housekeeping stuff, and then we will go into the message, and then I kind of just play some different videos, some different cool things for you, and then, yeah, I'll wrap it up at the end, and that's pretty much it, but service was okay Sunday. Place was packed, and then went to, went to. to dinner with my family, and that was it. Then back to work yesterday and still planting those palms. If you saw the past episodes, still in that project. One of our projects right now, and so messy, it's unreal, just muddy, a mess. We're supposed to have it done in two weeks. I have no idea how we're gonna do that, but anyhow, that's kind of where I'm at. That's what's going on in life. I'm always, don't ever think that I'm sitting back with some perfect life or just this perfect faith and that kind of stuff, man. I'm walking this through. From what I've got, y'all enjoyed the little bit of a different, more like a blog or a vlog style episode like we did in the last one. I think I'm gonna do another one in a couple weeks
when it is our four-year anniversary as a church. So that will be happening in just a few weeks, and so I'll probably walk you through that, because I'm sure I'm gonna have a lot of emotions of what I'm feeling. What I'm feeling today, when I'm filming this, is four years ago today, one of our buildings at work burned down, and I work for my family's company, and so obviously that hit home. It caused a lot of financial heartache the years after that, and yeah, so it's just reflecting back. I mean, never underestimate the difference of what God can do, and just in seemingly a short period of time, even where you're at, just never underestimate that. God is always faithful, and if we're leaning into Him, man, you just see, man, He is really good at bringing beauty from ashes, truly. So all right, I think that's enough rambling of what's going on today. We're going back into the questions of Jesus. Jesus asked these questions never, never to shame us, never to embarrass us, never even to expose us, but there is a deeper thing in all of it that Jesus sometimes just wants us to see. Hey, what kingdom are you really living for? Are you living for your own kingdom, or are you living for the kingdom of God?
Are you living for the kingdom of a gang, or a group, or anything like that, or are you living for selfishness, or are you living for the kingdom of God? And then there's a gospel we all believe, good news that we all believe in, a Savior that we believe can fix it all. And when Jesus asked these questions, it's kind of pulling the curtain back on all of that, to say, hey, listen, who are you really believing in? What gospel do you really believe in? Who do you truly believe the Savior is to broken humanity? Again, my name is Trevor. It's an honor to have you. I encourage you, stick through it, watch it all the way through, and let's jump. Woo! Woo! Yeah! Wooo! Woo hoo! I love this community of faith that we have because we all kind of grew up together and we do a lot of weird stuff and people don't know it's weird. We think it's normal, but it's not.
And uh, like people brand new to church walk in, we're like, we're going to wash you in the blood. I'm calling the cops. These Christian music stations, I love the Christian radio, but they're, they're funny in a way because they always play like you ever, this is why I can't listen to Christian music anymore. Okay. Cause you ever been listening to Christian radio station? You ever going through some kind of hardship or struggle or hard time, you hear a song that's for you. You ever been there? Thank you Jesus. I needed this song. I spoke to you directly. You ever been there? So have I, but like in a different way. Okay. You ever been driving home? It's like three in the morning. You're on the way home from, you know, making some poor choices and uh, you pull around the corner. You see that 24 hour taco bell, like just in bumper to bumper traffic, just screaming at the guy in front of you like, dude, I don't know how they know. They know what's going on in your life. Always. I don't know what kind of witchcraft they got going on over there. Me and my little brother, when I turned 16 years old, me and my little brother had a pact. He was 14. I was 16.
We're going to sneak out of the house and go to Hooters. Me and my little brother. I was, I was a kid. Anyway, we, we, we pulled out. We drove into the parking lot like, my brother was scared to death and he's like, dude, let's get out of here. I was like, nah, let's go inside. No one's going to know. One time I got rear-ended in traffic. I got rear-ended. I stepped out of the car and I was like, it's stupid, dude. I did. I was, I was, I got pulled over for speeding one time. I just pulled over and the cop came up to my window. I rolled it down and I was just like, this guy, I don't know what happened. Now he was back there, you know, in the back there for a long time. I'm about to get a huge ticket. It's not going to be good. I got to go to jail. I was thinking all these terrible thoughts. This guy comes back and lets me off with a warning. And I was like, all right, Mark chapter five is where we're going today. Mark chapter five is where we are going. If you want to read this story, it starts in verse 21, goes all the way through verse 43, right there at the bottom of the Pando app is a little like thing that looks like a Bible or a button you click that is there. But one of the things I've heard too, from several of you is like, Hey, I really don't read that well, but, but you like how I can explain the story. So I'm going to do that more today than actually read the story of the verses. But Mark chapter five is a wild story or wild chapter in the Bible.
And Jesus, it starts where Jesus is going and he ends up casting these demons out of this man. Right. And that's the one where Jesus cast the demons out into some pigs and the pigs go run off the cliff into the water. It's like, boy, Bacon's Bacon's trying to fly and it never works. But anyhow, and I think about this with that story, because then God uses this man, even though he was full of demons, everyone was afraid of him. God uses him still. And I just thought about this. It's not even the main point of the sermon at all, or today's teaching. Really? I thought about this. So no matter how far you feel from God, listen, I feel this on my heart. I didn't say on any of this on Sunday, I want to look right into you and speak this to you. And this isn't going to be for everybody, but this is going to be for some of you for sure. No matter how far you are away from God, no matter the evil that you have been a part of or inflicted on someone else. Listen to me here. You are not too far from Jesus, because if you don't believe me, go read Mark chapter five and you'll see this man that is full of thousands of demons is set free by Jesus. You might feel, I read this comment the other day, this young lady named Chelsea, you got 50 years. I wept reading your story, but, and for you, you might feel that you are not forgivable. No one could love you. You might feel that what you did is just beyond any type of forgiveness. Now, this does not mean the people that you hurt will forgive you.
Let's not pretend that that will happen. But it does mean this. There is forgiveness in Jesus. It is, the question is, will you turn your heart towards him? Will you say, you know what? Jesus is Lord. He is Savior. He is the one and true Son of God. There is freedom for you. This man was full of thousands of demons, inflicted pain and evil, and Jesus still showed up to him and still set him free. Well, you're like, well, I don't know if Jesus showed up for me. Listen, you're watching a tablet in prison with some random dude sitting in Northeast Florida, whose veins come out of his neck way too much, who's got a forehead the size of Arkansas. And he's saying this, it's not by chance you're watching this, man. It's not by chance that you just found this young lady. It's not by chance. Maybe this is a way Jesus is pursuing you to let you know you're not too far gone. You're not too full of evil. He can change your heart if you'll embrace him and let him. And this app is full of stuff, man. I hope this is just a starting point. If you've never given your life to Christ,

It'll take you through the steps of praying the prayer, receiving forgiveness. And then that's just the beginning, man. That's just the start. That has nothing to do with what I'm teaching today, but I felt it strong this morning. Actually, right after I filmed that video of the cloud, I felt this strong to remind some of you, I know this isn't for everybody, but for some of you, you're not too evil. You're not too far gone. The question is, will you let Jesus embrace your heart? And will you turn to him? I read a comment just the other day by a young man who's never been to church, been incarcerated 17 and a half years and has been, and I think he was into Odinism, I think is what he was in. Forgive me, it might've been Islam, I don't remember. But the point is he was giving Jesus a chance. Maybe that's all you need to do, man.
You just gotta give Jesus a chance. Okay, now Mark chapter five, here's what's happening. All right, so here's what's going on. Jesus is coming back from setting that man free. He's coming back in a boat. I wonder if it was a rowboat. See what I did there? He's coming back in a boat. And it says these crowds are beginning to gather as the boat is approaching shore. And there's a man in there that's coming towards this crowd. He's the synagogue leader. His name is Jairus. Some would call him Jairus, I'm calling him Jairus. I might call him J-town, J-boy. I don't know what I'm gonna call him. But Jairus is coming. Now Jairus is a synagogue leader. Three times, if you read it in Mark chapter five, it tells us he is a synagogue leader. Why does that matter? Anytime the Bible's consistently pointing something out, just pay attention to it. Like, why would this matter? Well, the synagogue leaders really weren't big fans of Jesus at this time, right? But here's the thing with Jairus. He's on the way to ask Jesus a question. Will you come and pray for my daughter? Because she's dying.
Somewhere along the way, Jairus' daughter got sick. Somewhere it went from sick to bad. And at some point it went from bad to worse. And then he has to make this decision. This is what blows my mind. He has to make this decision. Will I leave the side of my daughter who is dying? Who I might miss her final breaths? Like her last times taking a breath of in and out. Her last final breaths. Will I miss this? But I've got to go see if Jesus will come pray for her because I can't lose her. And he goes to Jesus. And I imagine as he's walking, maybe his heart is racing because being a synagogue leader, if they found out or people are gonna see and know, like he could lose his whole livelihood because now he's embracing the one that they don't even like. And he gets to Jesus. And it says he pleads fervently. Will you please come pray for my daughter? And the story says that Jesus says, yes, he will. So now Jesus is getting off this boat from setting this demonic man free. And he actually gave him purpose. Actually sent him to be over 10 cities, which is incredible. Which proves the point even more. That listen, you're not too far gone.
If you embrace Jesus, there is still purpose for you. Anyhow, I think about Eric just a minute ago. I showed his picture, man. I read your letter and your testimony of what God is doing in and through your life that you're not who you used to be. Anyhow, the point is this, they're walking now. is growing and growing as they're on the way to Jairus's house to pray for his daughter and it's growing and you imagine it's got to be loud and I think about Jairus his heart has to be racing like this is finally going to happen maybe there's an answer my daughter has gotten sick and it's went from bad to worse and she might I don't even know she's gonna be alive when I get back but we're on the way together and then all of a sudden in the middle of all of this there's an all stop and Jesus says who touched me that's the first question of Jesus we're gonna look at today he says who touched me now the story would tell you that there's a woman in that crowd as they're on the way to Jairus's house and she had to what what the Bible calls an issue of blood she had been bleeding for 12 solid years losing life the Bible says that that she would spend everything she had for the doctors to try to make her well and they couldn't and now this is it she is out of resources out of hope but she has this faith maybe she wasn't out of hope maybe that wasn't true because she has faith it says that she thought in her heart if I could just touch the hem of his garment I will be healed which tells me this what we think about matters what we're constantly thinking about matters it says that she thought man if I could just do this what is constantly going on in our mind will eventually come out of our heart out of our mouth because Jesus says that the abundant of the heart the abundance of the heart my goodness so Tom phonics the mouth will speak so it matters what is constantly internal your let me just say clear your self-talk matters you can't call yourself a piece of crap all the time you can't call yourself worthless all the time you can't call yourself nothing but a mess
up you can't call yourself nothing but what the mistake that you met made I'm nothing but just a number listen eventually you've got to change your self-talk and say you know what I might have made mistakes I might feel far from God and not worthy but the truth of the matter is I am still breathing I still have a purpose yes I might be identified by a number but to God I am identified as a son or a daughter of his because what happens next in the story you can't miss it man I get friggin excited about this what happens next in the story she gets to Jesus she touched him of his garment and it says immediately she's healed but it says Jesus felt healing power go from him and that's why he asked who touched me and the disciples they're like Jesus what are you talking about who touched you there's all these people around you what do you mean who touched you Jesus said no no no no no somebody approached me in faith and they touched me and I felt healing power go from me see that's the thing do we just approach Jesus in faith do we just go to him in faith trusting that he is who he said he is and then eventually this woman speaks up she says it was me I did now she's afraid is she's ashamed and we're not gonna go into the whole cultural context of it but technically she is unclean because of her constant bleeding according to the Levitical law and she was hiding because the people knew they were there she would be cast out of the city until she was clean well she couldn't be clean it was impossible she had this issue that she couldn't fix and maybe you can relate maybe everybody's labeled you unclean because you have this issue that you can't get right you've tried everything inside of you to get it right but you can't get it right you've tried everything inside of you if I could just fix myself then I could get back around people if I could just clean myself up I could get back around people I hear this all the time man I was addicted and then I came into prison or I came into jail and it just got worse if I could just quit quit you know turning to the drink or turn into the drug or turn into k2 or whatever it might be there's a million different things if I could just stop that but the issue is you haven't been able to and maybe it's time to try Jesus for once maybe it's time to say within yourself
man if I could just embrace Jesus man he could change me forever maybe it's time to approach him in faith in the same way she did she was unclean she would have been an outcast from society if they knew that's why she was hiding but what I love is Jesus isn't okay with you hiding not again because he wants to expose you but because he wants to call something out of you you don't even realize yet because what Jesus says next mark 534 Jesus says daughter your faith has made you whole go in peace notice what happens it's the only time in the Gospels Jesus calls anyone daughter and why does Jesus do it because he wants to remind her You're not the totality of your issue. You realize we're not even told her name. We don't even know her name. She had a name. She lived before the issue, and she lived after the issue. We don't even know, like, OK, what else did she do? She had to have giftings and callings and purpose by God. Everyone does, even you sitting right there. Even you do. Think about it. She would have had favorite foods. What's my favorite food? Taco Bell. I don't even know why I try to think about it. I love it. I love it. She would have had favorite scents. What's my favorite scent? Probably Christmas tree. Like, those Christmas tree candles, absolutely love them. Also, I'm a big, like, orange cleaner fan.
Hate the smell of bleach. I'm just weird about that. She would have had a smile. She would have had a laugh. There would have been something unique about her outside of her issue. But here is what happens. Even in the Bible, she is only named the woman with the issue of blood. Because what can happen is we end up taking on the identity of the thing we're suffering from. We end up taking the identity of our issues. We end up becoming named what we struggle with or the problems we have. But Jesus does not allow that. He says, listen, yes, I get it. You're healed. But it's more than that. There's two miracles that happen, the healing of the issue of blood and then the restoring of her identity when he calls her daughter. Okay, so how can you relate? You probably might feel like this sometimes. You can just be reduced down to your issues. When we have deep issues, it has this way of, the only way I know how to describe it is dehumanizing who we really are, who God really made us. Some of you haven't heard your name called
and you don't even know when. Some of you, you feel abandoned by everybody. Some of you, you might even say, you know what? Yeah, but I deserve that. I know that's not for everybody, but that's for some of you. Some of you, you're known back home as the one who screwed up. You're known back home as the one who pulled that trigger. You're known back home as the one who made that massive mistake that will be on your record forever. You're known back home as X, Y, or Z. But do you know who you're known by in heaven? By who you are, which is a son or a daughter of God. See, we have this way to just put these labels on people. Oh, oh, they're just, they're the broke one. They're the addicted one. They're the fearful one. They're the angry one. They're the prideful one. They're the bitter one. They're the unforgiving one. They're the anxious one. This one hits home for me. They're the depressed one. They're the one who has mental issues. It's so easy to begin to take on the label of your issues. But God is not just gonna fix your issues. He's gonna restore you to your identity of who you are in him.
I don't want you to ever just take my word for it. Let me give you some scripture here. John 112, but those who embraced him and took hold of his name, he gave authority to become children of God. Notice that, who embraced him and took hold of his name, he gave authority to become the children of God. Second Corinthians 517, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away and behold, all things have become new. When you give your life to Christ, listen, you are a new creation. You are who you are meant to be. And listen, if you've never given your life to Christ before, man, today's the day. You know it's pulling in your heart to do it, so do it. Give your life to Christ, man, and receive his forgiveness of sins and receive your identity in the family of God that all who are in Christ are a new creation. Old things are passed away and behold, all things have become new. Romans 8, verse 10, now Christ lives his life in you. And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving spirit imparts to you because you are fully accepted by God. Do you see that? You are fully accepted by God.
Jump down to verse 15. And you did not receive the spirit of religious duty, leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. Sorry, I had to hit that prime. But you have received the spirit of full acceptance, enfolding you into the family of God. This doesn't just say unless you're sitting in jail. This doesn't just say unless you committed a crime. The question is, are you willing to ask for forgiveness? Are you willing to do what you need to do? make it right. And are you willing to receive what you can never do, which is forgiveness of sins from the father. And that is who God is. That is why Jesus came to bring us back into the family of God. Let's keep reading. And you will never feel orphan for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him as saying the words of tender affection, beloved father, for the Holy Spirit makes God's fatherhood real to us. As he whispers into your innermost being, you are God's beloved child. Let me give you Ephesians one here, verse five four is always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children through our union with Jesus, the anointed one. That means the Messiah. So, excuse me. So this tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace. Notice this next line for the same love that God has for the beloved Jesus. He has for you, since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood, the total cancellation of our sins, all because of his cascading riches of grace. Here's what I just want to say.
We're going to move on from this point. The enemy loves to do this. If he can't stop you from giving your life to Christ and being a disciple of Jesus and living for his kingdom, his gospel, and him as your savior, then he, what he will do is convince you all you are is forgiven, but you're never somebody you don't really have a name. You don't really have a purpose. He tries to dehumanize who you are, where you don't feel like you are in the family of God, where you stay feeling unworthy, even if you might be forgiven. So listen, Jesus paid for it all. He paid for it all, ma'am, sir, he paid for it all. He says, daughter, go in peace. You have been made well. Now back to the story. Think about Jairus. Think about Jairus. He went and got Jesus. That's why the whole crowd is here. Because remember his daughter is dying. And as Jesus is saying, daughter, go in peace, your faith has made you whole, your faith has made you well, while Jesus is saying these words, there's people that show up to Jairus and say, hey, listen, your daughter didn't make it. Don't bother the teacher anymore. She's dead. Can you imagine what he's feeling? But in that moment, Jesus turns to Jairus and says, Jairus, don't be afraid. Just have faith. And it shows me this. Jesus hears when you get news that seems to take the very breath out of your body. He hears it.
And he looks at you and says, listen, don't lean into what you're feeling. Just keep trusting. Don't be afraid. Just have faith. Don't lean in to what you're feeling. Don't be afraid. Just keep trusting in the one who says, I will go with you. And so Jesus says, just keep having faith that he's walked with you. He is on the way and he has not abandoned you. He is big enough to deal with the woman with the issue of blood and call her daughter and still keep stepping to go heal your daughter. God is that big. He can, he can help someone else down the road or in another pod or in another county or in another state prison or in another, wherever it might be. And he's big enough to help them. And he is big enough to help you as well. That's how great our God is. He says, don't be afraid. Just have faith. And he looks at the crowd. He says, no, no, no. Y'all stay here. And they go into the house and there's, it says, there's all this commotion and weeping. And that's the second question Jesus asked. Why all this commotion and weeping? What is Jesus meaning? They're reacting to the death of the daughter. Like they're not being disingenuous. They're just reacting to the death of the young girl who has gone way too soon, man. And they're reacting to it.
And Jesus says, no, no, no. Why are you reacting with all this commotion and weeping? Shows me this, how I react to situations in my movement and my emotions matter. How I react to situations. They're reacting to the daughter being dead. Yes, this is a crisis moment, but we can apply this to everything. Yes, the daughter is dead for sure. And they're, they're, they're upset about it. There's commotion, emotion. There's commotion. Weeping and wailing is what it says. Jesus says, why the commotion? Why the weeping? Why this movement? Why these emotions and reaction to what is happening? I think it is a clear picture for us how we are moving and how we are feeling and reaction to everyday life matters to Jesus. And what happens is Jesus gets all of that out of the house so he can pray for the girl. So what's the point for us? How can we relate? to Jairus in this moment is, is our movement and emotions matching the movement and emotions of Jesus? Emotions aren't bad. He gave them to us. But are they matching him? Movement isn't bad. It's part of life. But are they matching? Let me say it like this. The perspective of Jesus.
He says in there, you'll see it. The girl's not dead. She's just sleeping. So what he's like, he's like, you're moving and you're feeling that way because you're seeing it through the wrong perspective. So for us, it's like, am I seeing things through my perspective or am I seeing things through the perspective of Jesus? That's what we have to see. Is my movement and my emotion matching the perspective of Jesus or is it just reacting to what I see in this moment? That's the greatest question I can ask myself every single day. Is my movement and emotion matching how Jesus sees it or is it just how I see it? It is so easy, man, to get caught up and just seeing life how you see it and miss that heaven has a perspective. And maybe that's what you just need to do is pray this prayer today. Jesus, give me your vision. Jesus, give me eyes for what you see. Give me a heart for how you feel about this stuff. I want your movement and your motion and from your perspective, not my own. Like sometimes we make Christianity and being a disciple of Christ so big and spiritual. It's not that spiritual. It's daily. Is my movement and my emotion from his perspective or my own? You can take that into anything, man. You can take it into anything. The story finishes with a girl getting up and Jesus tells her, go get something to eat, which that's why I love Jesus. That's what I'm about to go do myself. I'm about to go get something to eat. And that's what I love that he does.
And in that, those two questions, there's some things in my heart I want to say. I don't really know. I'm going to probably chew on these. I'm going to say this. In those two questions, if he said, who touched me? I believe it was, he wasn't like, who was it? He was asking the who, like, do you know who you are? Because remember, he calls her daughter. Do you know who you are? And then he asked it. Why all the commotion and the weeping? Why all the movement and emotion? It doesn't match my perspective is what Jesus is saying. Can you see your life through his perspective? Can you see your day to day through his perspective? Can you see your work camp through his perspective? Can you see your pod through his perspective? Can you see that cell? Yes. I'm not saying it doesn't, it's not like it doesn't suck. I'm not saying that man, that it isn't painful or maybe like there's mistreatment or whatever it might be. I'm not nullifying any of that. I'm just saying, but can you see it through his perspective? Can you have his vision? Absolutely. You can. What did Jairus do? Jairus did three things. He went to Jesus.
He conversed with Jesus and he walked with Jesus. He went to Jesus. That's going to him. Can you go to your Bible? Can you go to some shows here on the Pando app that help you grow? Is there a church service in your prison that you need to start going to? Is there a Bible study that you need to start being a part of? Maybe it's a prayer call that goes around that they do at the end of the night in your pod. Maybe it's that. Maybe you need to start being a part of that. That's going to Jesus. Maybe you need to start going to scripture, start listening to more, start reading more, start going to these stories and asking the Lord to make it real to you. And then he goes to Jesus. Then he converses with Jesus, right? And when Jairus converses with Jesus, we can do the same things. His words to us and our words to him. Talk to him just like you would talk to anyone else. And then it says he walked with him back to that. Now you just walk with him. What is that a picture? You just do life with him. Just do life with him. Every day, turn your affection towards him and just do life with him. And that is how you get his perspective. All this is in Mark chapter five. I hope this, I didn't really look at my notes or whatever. I guess it's fine. I love this, this story, man.
Again, I love Mark chapter five. I hope something today spoken to you. I genuinely feel that there's something today has spoken to you and encouraged you and whatever you're going through. Everybody's going through something different, especially the amount of people that are part of the champion DOC family. Everybody's going through something different. I was saying even earlier, man, like, like life is not perfect for me. I'm navigating things in my own life. I'm navigating like tension and relationships and that kind of stuff. Everyone does it. And so what am I doing? I'm going to Jesus. I'm conversing with Jesus and I'm walking with him because I want to see it through his perspective, not my own. I need to make sure I understand in myself, man, y'all have heard me talk about my struggles with depression, my struggles with insecurity, my struggles with being accepted, my struggles of even feeling like I'm worth freaking anything. Like I have these struggles for sure that I have to just navigate and remind myself. God loves me as much as he loves Jesus. Ephesians one tells us that Jesus would say that in John 17, God, father, I hope they realize that you love them as much as you. Love me like I walk these things out of my own identity as a son of God and my own perspective Am I seeing it from his saying this isn't something I figured out This is something i'm walking out and I think that's just why i'm so passionate about it, man Sorry for yelling in y'all's ear, too. I'm going to teach you the easiest card trick in the world in less than five minutes. Here's the performance. The magician takes a borrowed shuffle deck of cards and shows the spectator that all the cards in the deck are different. He then gives the cards to the spectator and tells them to shuffle them up as much as they like. So the spectator shuffles the cards and then gives them back to the magician. The magician asks the spectator to reach in and choose any card that they want. In this case, the spectator has chosen this card here. I legitimately have no idea what this card is. But what I'm going to do is I'm going to rub the card like this and I'm going to feel its ink. And I can tell that there's not much ink on this card, so I know it's a low card. And it feels like a... Oh, it's not much ink at all. It's definitely a very low card. I think it's a red card. Is it the Ace of Diamonds? And I'm correct. Here's how this works. You guys are going to love the secret to this effect.

So this is one of those effects that literally uses a borrowed shuffled deck of cards. You're out with friends at a bar, at a social gathering. You're somewhere and someone just gives you a deck of cards and says, Hey, show me a trick. This is a trick that you can do and it always works. And yeah, it literally can't go wrong. So essentially, the spectator chooses any card they like. In this case, we'll just say they chose this card here. And what you're going to do is once they give you the card, you say that you're going to feel the ink on the front of the card and you're going to rub it. And from there, you're going to be able to tell what their card is. Now, as you do this, you're going to hold the card between your thumb and first finger and middle finger like this. And you're just going to bend the card slightly for a few seconds, just saying you're going to feel the card. Then what happens after five seconds is you bend the card like this. And you'll notice you can actually peek what the card is just from this position here. This is a really, really deceptive way to find out the identity of a card without ever like turning it around like this. So the way this trick works is all in showmanship. You take the card, you don't immediately just bend it and see what it is. Instead, you feel it and you just say, Oh, I'm going to try and feel what the ink is. You then just bend the card off for about five seconds and it just looks natural. And you keep feeling it after that. And then you say, OK, I know this is an eight. So in my head, I'd be like, OK, there's going to be lots of ink on an eight. Okay, there's quite a lot of ink on here. It's definitely a black card as well.
I think it's the eight of spades and then they'll react. What you don't want to do is just take the card, bend it, see what it is and say eight of spades. You need to build it up otherwise this effect won't work. So go and grab a deck of cards and try doing this peek right now and you'll be amazed just by how easy it is. I think it's fair to say the Ford failed there, miserably. No, wait, wait, we skipped something. I didn't have to waste my entire day charging the F-150. Next! Test the suspension. Because to get that certified, they have to go through a ton of testing.

Everything on this engine has been completely blacked out all the way down to the bolts.
