While at the Polunsky Unit, an inmate asked me if God's love was conditional. This is something so many people wrestle with, especially when they feel like they've gone too far or messed up too many times to be loved by God. In this video, I break down what the Bible says about the unconditional love of God and why His grace isn't something you earn but something you receive.

I often hear in church people talk about God's unconditional love. He didn't send Jesus after you believed in him. He sent him before you believed in him. Is that actually scriptural only because of the act that he did? That sounds like a condition to me. Because when you look at John 3 16, it says, whosoever believe is an insider. That sounds like a condition to me. Yeah. So the way I explain it is that's a very good question, by the way. It is an unconditional love only because of the act that he did. So he didn't send Jesus after you believed in him. He sent him before you believed in him. You know what I'm saying? You don't even look like you got $10. Let's say, right. You were not going to hop on that plane. Even if this $10,000 is yours, you're not going to receive it. You understand what I'm saying? God needs us to just receive. I mean, you could say that's a condition, but that's a condition of like very simple. It's not like keep the commandments and then I'll love you. It's like I did this. Do you believe me? That's really all it is. And we use faith and belief every single day, right? We wake up. How do we know our cell door is not going to lock up forever? We have faith that it's going to open up. How do I know driving across the bridge that it's not going to collapse? I'm not testing every pillar. I have faith. So it's the same thing. If you apply faith in everything, why not apply it to God? It's really simple. Amen.
