How Do I Be A Good Person?

I'm really a big fan of you. I myself am not a believer. Although I'm not truly a believer, would I still be accepted of when the time came? Good is actually subjective. For example, I was a gang member. To me, being good is all my homies that were with me need to be quiet. But then, according to the victims, is I want you to tell me who did this. So the standard of good for human beings is always subjective. It's because what I think is good may not be good according to somebody else. And then where do we draw the line? Hey, it's nice to meet you. I have some questions. I know you from my brother. My brother's a big fan of you. I myself am not a believer. And this is why I want to talk to you. Because I respect you and how you stand about things. Because I've always struggled with how people saw religion. With being like, if you're gay, it's a sin. Or like, if you're not accepted and all. So I've always... But I respect you because you say that being a good person and just caring about people and just being a good person in general it's a good thing to do, right?

Because I respect the belief of what Jesus stands for. To be a good person and respect that. I just myself have trouble truly believing that he was... Is he up there in heaven and all. So I guess my question is that being a good person and having those beliefs of how it stands for and like, it's a good thing when it's a process of how to live. Although I'm not truly a believer, would I still be accepted of when the time came and it happened to be true? So the thing about it is we place our standards because good is actually subjective. And it's also relative, right? So for example, I was a gang member. And let's say I shot somebody, which has happened. To me, being good is all my homies that were with me need to be quiet and not speak to the victims. Understand what I'm saying? But then what's actually good according to the victims is No, I want justice served. I want you to tell me who did this so we can have peace and we can rest. Do you understand what I'm saying? So the standard of good for human beings is always subjective. We cannot actually lean on that. Does that make sense?

Because what I think is good may not be good according to somebody else. And then where do we draw the line? You get what I'm saying? So the line is God, is Jesus. And that's what I believe. Every time I followed myself and what I thought was good, joining a gang I thought was good, led me to getting shot, getting stabbed, going to prison. Wasn't a good thing, right? I thought having multiple women was good. Not a good thing, right? There was drama everywhere. I thought doing drugs was good. Not a good thing. Make sense? So yes, of course, there's really good according to our thoughts. But again, it's subjective. It changes. So what I submitted to was if I trust this thing that is only good and I just lean on that, then I was able to be happy and I'm living now a living testament of that. I went from literally doing a lot of time in prison to robbing people and doing a lot of things that I'm not proud of

to now being able to pour life into people solely because I realized, oh, Johnny's not good. And Johnny's good is not good either. Make sense? So that's what God really wants. He doesn't need you to do any good. He needs you to submit to the one who is good. Does that make sense? It's just Him. Amen, bro. And He will accept that. It's very simple to accept that. Is there a point? It's too late? No, it's never too late, bro. So, I mean, that also is controversial, right? But I think what's important is keeping the hypotheticals hypotheticals and what's applicable to you. So you're alive right now, right? You can accept Him like that. And of course, you know, preaching to people around us, that's what I do what I do because I'm still active in terms of like, you know, my history with my gang, my family members are in my hood. So obviously, I'm a person who graduated. I'm not doing anything crazy with them.

But I have to reach them as well. So I receive salvation. I believe in Jesus. And I don't go to my friends who are Buddhists and go, you know, you're going to burn in hell. I actually live by example. And a lot of them see me going out doing these types of things. You don't have to be like, oh, let me just let me see, you know, if I can receive it today. If you receive it today, then you can also start to work and help your friends receive that because I know you have friends and I can tell you care about people, right? You're a good person, honestly. And you don't want them to be bad, right? You don't want them to go through misery. Well, you being that beacon and living for the gospel will literally free other people, bro. And it's a really beautiful thing. So I commend you for that. You're a better man than me. Amen.
