Let's get ready to praise and worship. We praise you, precious Father. Thank you, Lord. Father, we will shout your name on the rooftops, precious Lord. God, I pray. Falling in love and seeking your truth. Knowing that your perfect grace has brought me to this place. Because of you I freely live my life. To you, O God, I give. So I stand before you, God. I lift my voice because you set me free. So I shout out your name from the rooftops. I proclaim that I am yours. I am yours. All the good you've done for me. I lift up my hands for all to see. You're the only one who brings me to my feet. To share this love across the earth. The beauty of your holy word. So I kneel before you, God. I lift my hands because you set me free. So I shout out your name from the rooftops. I proclaim that I am yours. I am yours. And all that I am, I place into your loving hands. And I am yours. I am yours. Here I am, I stand with arms wide open to the one, the son, the everlasting God. The everlasting God. Here I am, I stand with arms wide open to the one, the son, the everlasting God. The everlasting God. Here I am, arms wide open. Here I am, hearts wide open. So I shout out your name from the rooftops. I proclaim that I am yours. I am yours. And all that I am, I place into your loving hands. And I am yours. I am yours. So I shout out your name from the rooftops. I proclaim that I am yours. I am yours. And all that I am, I place into your loving hands. And I am yours. I am yours. So I shout out. So I shout out. From the rooftops I proclaim that I am yours, I am yours. And all that I am I place into your loving hands, and I am yours. I am yours. Here I am, I stand with arms wide open to the one, the sun, the everlasting God. The everlasting God. Here I am, I stand with arms wide open to the one, the sun, the everlasting God. The everlasting God. So I shout out your name, from the rooftops I proclaim that I am yours, I am yours. And all that I am I place into your loving hands, and I am yours.
I am yours. Thank you Lord Jesus. Hallelujah. Good morning House of Rest. Wow, look at all these beautiful faces. Welcome to our celebration service. If this is your first time here in person or joining us online, we're so glad you're here. It is by divine appointment that you're here today. We're going to jump right back into worship. God is doing something in your life. You're here for a reason. Open your heart and receive. Pastor's going to deliver a word right after worship. We'll have an altar call. Just open your heart and be blessed. As I often do, but every song must end, and you never do. So I throw up my hands and praise you again and again. Because all that I have is a hallelujah, hallelujah. And I know it's not much, but I'm nothing else fit for a king. Set for a heart singing hallelujah, hallelujah. I've got one response. I've got just you. With my arms stretched wide. I will worship you. So I throw up my hands and praise you again and again. Because all that I have is a hallelujah, hallelujah. And I know it's not much, but I'm nothing else fit for a king. Set for a heart singing hallelujah, hallelujah. Thank you so much, Jesus! Thank you so much, Jesus! Thank you so much, Jesus! Thank you so much, Jesus!
Come in light, son. Don't you get shy on me, lift up your song. Cause you've got a lion inside of those lungs. Get up and praise the Lord. Come in light, son. Don't you get shy on me, lift up your song. Cause you've got a lion inside of those lungs. Get up and praise the Lord. Come on, light son. Don't you get shy on me, lift up your song. Cause you've got a lion inside of those lungs. Get up and praise the Lord. Oh, oh, oh. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. I put my hands and praise you again and again. Cause all that I have is a hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I know it's not much, but I'm nothing else, Faithful and keen. Except for a heart singing hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, precious God. Thank you, Lord. Yes, Lord. You know, sometimes the Lord just wants us to come back to, to Him, our first love. And if you just want to spend some time even right now at the altar, it's open to come back to your first love. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.
Caught up in your presence. I just want to sit here at your feet. Caught up in this holy moment. I never want to leave. Oh, I'm not here for blessings. No. Jesus, you don't owe me anything. More than anything that you can do. I just want you. I'm sorry when I've just gone through the motions. And I'm sorry when I've just sang another song. Take me back to where we started. I open up my heart to you. And I'm sorry when I've come with my agenda. I'm sorry when I forget that you're enough Take me back to where we started I open up my heart to you Caught up in your presence I just wanna sit here at your feet Caught up in this holy moment I never want to leave, no, no, no I'm not here for blessings, no Jesus, you don't owe me anything More than anything that you can do I just want you I just want you Nothing else, nothing else Nothing else will do I just want you Nothing else, nothing else

Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Precious Father. Thank you, Jesus. Welcome to our Sunday service here at House of Rest Church, where Jesus is the Senior Pastor. We believe there's a seat with your name on it, and we're so glad you chose to spend your Sunday morning with us. House of Rest Church was established in 2011, and by the grace of God, we're still going strong all in the name of Jesus. Here is our QR code, your one-stop place for everything happening at House of Rest Church. You'll find our weekly and weekly newsletter at houseofrestchurch.org. schedule, upcoming events, giving information, service times, baptism sign-ups, and much more. Thank you so much for joining us today. We'll see you next time. You'll also find QR codes throughout the church in the lobby, in our different rooms, and even on many of the seats. Make sure you check our website often, because there is always something
happening at House of Rest. Every Wednesday at 6.45 p.m., we come together for worship, Bible study, and prayer. And there's something for the next generation too. Our youth ministry, for students in 7th through 12th grade, meets at the same time, along with our young adults ministry, for ages 18 to 30. There's a place for everyone to connect, grow, and build relationships. Also available is Bridges, our re-entry ministry for men and women who have been released from incarceration. We understand that coming home can bring challenges, and you don't have to walk through them alone. We want to partner with you as you acclimate back into society, grow in your relationship with Christ, develop practical life skills, and become everything the Lord has called you to be. Visit our website through the QR code and sign up for Bridges. Someone from our team will contact you and help you get connected. And don't forget about our School Online Discipleship community. You can continue growing in your faith throughout the week with classes like Learning to Hear God's Voice, Church History, and many more. We're continually adding new classes and resources, so make sure you check back often. At House of Rest Church, Sunday morning is just the beginning. There's a place for you to worship, learn, serve, grow, and become everything God has called you to be. Thank you for joining us at House of Rest Church Modesto. We are a Grace International Church, part of a global family of more than 5,000 churches worldwide. Welcome home. Mark your calendars for our yearly Grace International Regional Leadership Conference. This September 28th and 29th, all Grace churches from California, Arizona, and Nevada will get together for a time of learning, encouragement, and fellowship at Grace at the Circle Church at 308 South Glassell Street, Orange, California. The best part is that we encourage our House of Rest Church family to stay at the same hotel for fellowship and bonding. The hotel has a great free breakfast, pool, and hot tub. So here is the game plan. On September 27th, Sunday after service, we will make our way to the City of Orange. Flyers are available at the church with the entire itinerary for services, Young Adults Night at Dave & Buster's Arcade, and time in the pool. If you have any questions, please ask Pastor David or Sharon. Hello again, everyone. Good morning. Let's give it up for our worship team. Yeah. Thank you guys so much for ushering in the presence of the Lord. Now let's see. Let's give it up for Jesus, for our King. Woo! God, I just love, love, love our celebration service. The presence of the Lord is here. It's so sweet and wonderful. Man, this regional conference in Orange, California on September 28th and 29th is going
to be such an awesome time. If you have an opportunity to go, you should really try to make it out. If you're a single person, talk to pastors. You may be able to find another single individual of the same gender to roommate with and help offset some of your costs. A lot of people are leaving immediately after the service on Sunday, but you don't have to. You can find your own way down there. But if you can get out there and fellowship with your House of Rest family, it's always an amazing time. Today, immediately following the service right after church is dismissed, we're going to do the discipleship class number five, and it's daily living. So it just goes over just practical ways to implement living for Christ in your day-to-day life. If you're new and you don't know what the discipleship classes are here at House of Rest, we have a series of six classes that you can go through, and it just goes a little bit deeper to talk about what we believe here at House of Rest to make sure that you're equipped to go deeper in Christ and to just to know some really practical things about what we believe and to help you be stronger in your walk with the Lord. Every first Sunday of the month here at House of Rest, we do water baptism. So if that's something that you want to do, you want to make a public declaration of your love for the Lord, we can help you with that every first Sunday. So come on out for baptism on the first Sundays, and now let's stand up and meet and greet your neighbor. Say hello to someone you don't know, go out of your way, hug someone's neck, make everyone feel welcome. If you're tuning in online, we want to say welcome. We're so glad that you're joining us today. Thanks for joining. Amen, want to welcome all those that are watching through their screen. God bless you. Thank you so much for being here. You could be anywhere else, but you're here watching us. We appreciate you. Those of you watching through Facebook, through YouTube, through Pando, Edovo, amen. God bless you. And just thank you so much for being here in this Sunday service. Amen. Good morning. Huh?
Oh, God bless you. Welcome to House of Rest Church. Before we're church, we are a family. That doesn't mean we're perfect because no family is, you know, but I'm just glad you were here. So glad you were here. Those of you that are here in person, those that are watching on their screen, thank you so much. I know that you wanted to share a couple of things. All right, guys, I don't know what happened to my voice for a minute there. I wanted to share, can we put on the Women's Discipleship? Ladies, really, really excited to just want to invite you guys out for August 28th. Can I get my flyer up, guys? Hello. For August 28th, I want to invite all you women out to the Women's Discipleship. It has been awesome. Ladies, you guys are coming out, you're showing up. It has been a blessing. And we even have the young girls, our youth, and our young girls are coming out too and they're participating. And it's exciting because we are growing together, we are learning together, and we're feasting. We really are. You women are showing up with some dishes. Thank you. Thank you for participating. I love it. But it's exciting because we're seeing our young women just really flourishing. When you have this rosebud and they just open up and they blossom, and I love to see that. So come on out, join us. Then we also have, would you happen to have the September 11th flyer by any chance, David?
I mean, Abraham? I know, babe, I'm sorry. Abraham. I live with both of them. I'm calling one and then the other one comes. Would you happen to have it by any chance, Mijon, the sister's closet? Wanted to announce sister's closet. There we go. On the 11th, it's also going to be the discipleship, but we're going to be doing something really fun and exciting for sister's closet where we're actually going to be bringing, sisters are going to be bringing a few items of clothing and we're going to be bringing between 10 to 15 items of clothing. We're going to be ending a kind of almost like an exchange in a sense where we're going to shop each other's closet. It's going to be fun, ladies. Can I just get an amen to that? Like if you like going to thrift stores, come on. This is fun. It's going to be exciting. It's going to be even better, okay? We're going to make it really fun for that day. It's going to be really exciting. It's close to my birthday, so I said, this is what I wanted to do with you guys. Like I like to thrift stores, so this is what I love to do. So we're going to do something that day and we're just going to have fun. We're just going to be bringing some snacks and some stuff to kind of fellowship with, and we're going to go and we're going to do sister's closet and we're going to exchange, but we're going to be bringing some good stuff, girls. I say it at the bottom. If it ain't bringing your best items, if it's not good enough for you, then it's not good
enough for your sister, right? All right. So don't be bringing some shallopy stuff, okay? Telling you. I also wanted to say thank you. Thank you. Thank you to everybody that came out to volunteer, beginning from Friday morning all the way to Saturday, they came out to volunteer for the food giveaway. Man, you guys worked hard. It is a lot of work, but with all the three teams, all the way to the end, to the breakdown, thank you. I know that it was a lot of work, but let me tell you, the fruit of your labor is amazing. We fed almost 600 people. That's amazing, $5.93 to be exact, so I wanted to share that. You know, it's helping the community, guys, and I know that, you know, it was a lot of running around. Some of you guys built some muscle, a lot of muscle, but thank you guys, thank you. This is what it's about, and it took teamwork because there was different teams, but if it wasn't for all of us coming together, then we can't get this done, and I appreciate each and every one of you guys. This is what we do unto the Lord, and I just thank you guys so much. I love you, and we love you, and we praise God for you. Amen. Thank you. Amen. We're going to have Brother's Garage, and we're going to gather our tools, and we're going to bring your best tools, tools you don't use. I'm joking. Felix likes it. You won't like my tools.
Mine are from Harbor Freight. Leave those at home. I won't bring nothing. Yeah. Angel wants to include books in there, and amen. So again, you know, I know a few weeks ago, we said we were going to turn the direction of the church, and it's turning, guys. It is turning, and I'm just thanking each and every one of you of what you are doing. God bless you, and it's really exciting because usually at this time of the month, I'm freaking out, and I'm telling you right now, I'm not freaking out. I'm actually really excited, and that we're going to go in that direction. That way, we can concentrate on reaching souls and discipling people, and I just want to just thank each and every one of you, you know, because this is ours. This is ours. This is for us, you know, and not only for us, but for those people that are future going to come into the Lord and not have a place for their children, have a place for discipleship and for learning, you know, and I'm just really excited about what God has in store for House of Rest Church and for all of you and for all of our families, you know. So as you guys know, we support missions. When we support missions, we're talking about the three ministries that we choose, Pastor George in India, Pastor Thomas in Nigeria, and Pastor Moses in Uganda. We ask $3, and your $3 gets split $1 each, and those add up every quarter, and we're able to be a blessing for those ministries. On my envelope, you could always just put $3 aside. We always want to make sure that we give toward missions. We always want to be a mission-giving church, and maybe it's not a whole lot like some other places, but you know what? We're consistent, and that's what's important to me, is that they're consistently getting something from us, because that way they can anticipate it, you know, as they do. Same thing with the offering and the tithing.
Thank you so much. I know there's different ways, Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, there's a QR code in back of some of the seats. There's envelopes. If you need one, or if you have one, they'll get it from you and drop it into the box, or you can come up and drop it in the box yourself. Thank you so much, guys. Thank you. Let's just bow our heads. Lord God, we give you all honor and all glory. We pray for every single dollar. We pray for missions. We pray, Lord God, that you use everything to be used for your kingdom, to further your kingdom. We thank you for giving us a place here in downtown Modesto. We thank you, Lord God, for allowing us to be here and to have a place for our families, for our children, for our young adults, for our youth, for ourselves. We pray for all the churches in Modesto. We pray for all the services that are happening right now across the world. We thank you, Lord God. Let your name be proclaimed, Lord God, in all the earth, in all the continents, in all the nations, Lord God. Let your name be exalted, Lord. We thank you so much, Lord, in Jesus' mighty, mighty name, amen. You're a good, good father It's who you are It's who you are It's who you are And I'm loved by you It's who I am

You are perfect in all of your ways To us Lord we thank you for this Sunday morning We pray for this service Lord God We pray for your spirit Because according to your word You inhabit the praises of your people And we are your people, we are yours We belong to you Anything that is not of God we command it to leave this place We declare this to be holy ground right now in the name of Jesus We call for warring angels to surround this place right now and keep anything that is not of you outside of this place Lord God. We thank you Lord God because you have given us your weapon your word as a double-edged sword and we thank you Lord God because you have given us your spirit in us also. Let us walk accordingly Lord. You were the senior pastor of this church and this pulpit will always belong to you. We thank you in Jesus name amen. Let's give the Lord a hand. Amen. All right who gots their Bible? Hope you have your sword with you. We want to always encourage you to read your Bible, carry your Bible, know your Bible, learn it. What's gonna happen someday when all of a sudden you can't have a Bible? You better have it in your heart. This is my Bible. It is God's Word to me, my guide and my strength. I bring it ready to learn. I open it with faith in Jesus. I live it with courage. Without it I grow weak and with it I grow strong. Today I bring it. I believe it and obey it in Jesus name. Amen. All right. Today is a four-part series that we're going to be doing for the next four weeks. It is from something that I believe is a foundation for here at House of Rest Church. If you want to learn more about, because there's no way I can cover what I want to cover in the four weeks even though it's spread out in four weeks, but I did write a book a few years ago and that book is it's called Who Are You? Identity in Christ. It's a paperback e-book and an audible.
If this is something that as you're going in the series, this is something that is very very important to us here because you know we need to know who we are in Christ. Over the years I've been serving the Lord for 22 years now and what I see is that many churches do a great job at teaching us who God is. Whether you go from regular Christian Pentecostal Baptist all the way to Roman Catholic whatever, they do a great job in their own way about exalting the Lord as the Lord should be exalted. But here's the problem, many don't teach you who you are in Christ and that's where we fall away. That's where we falter. That's where we get tripped up. That's where we, that's where it goes wrong. In the 22 years that I have seen, that's where I see that it goes wrong. And so for many years this was always on my heart and my mind and I remember teaching this and I said I got to put it in a book form and that's why I wrote a book. But anyways today's sermon series is titled Who Are You? Identity in Christ. This is a four-part series and part one is going to be the fall. This is what we're going to talk about over the next four weeks and I'm really excited about it but we're gonna just get right into it. If you guys can go to Hebrews chapter 13 verse 8. The book of Hebrews, no, New Testament chapter 13 verse 8. There's some things we want to establish as we dive into this for the next month. And this is an important one. Let me know when you have it. Hebrews chapter 13 verse 8. It's a short verse but a powerful verse. Alright, you got it? Somebody still looking? Hebrews chapter 13 verse 8 says this. Short verse, powerful verse. It says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. That deserves to be said again. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. And just for fun, let's read the next portion. Do not be led astray, led away by diverse and strange teachings. Thought that was important. It's in the Word, so it's important.
So it's interesting that it says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, forever, and right after that, it says, don't fall into some crazy teachings. So in other words, this is a foundational truth that Jesus does not change. He has never changed. You might change, I might change. A brother asked me what I wanna eat after lunch. I said, I don't know, I'll tell you after church because I might change. I might wake up wanting a burrito and later on, I want seafood. I don't know what's gonna happen. And the brother answered back. He said, you're right, I'm in the same boat. I said, well, figure it out. But Jesus doesn't change. If he said it then, it's truth today. If he says it now, it was truth then. So this is important for us to understand this whole concept of our identity in Christ. We have to understand that foundational truth that Jesus does not change. He is immovable. He does not move. He does not sway. He does not shift. He does not change. We might change.
The world changes, but Jesus does not. Now in 1st Colossians, which is, if you backtrack a little bit, it's a small book, Colossians. And not 1st Colossians, in Colossians. Yeah, yeah. My bullet point says number one and then Colossians and like a weirdo, I said 1st Colossians. Colossians chapter one, verse 15 and 18. Let me know when you got that. All right, you brought your sword, so we're gonna use it today. Colossians, Colossians chapter one, 15 through 18. You know, this teaching is so dear to me, so important to me that we're going to see what scripture says and what the word says because we have to get it from the word. Who cares about what I think? We wanna understand what the word says. And it says this in Colossians chapter one, 15 and 18. It's interesting because it's talking about Jesus. And it says, he is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created in heaven and on earth, what is visible and invisible, whether it's thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things. And in him all things hold together.
How do we know it's talking about Jesus? Look at the next verse. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. So he's the image of the invisible God. The Bible says that God is a spirit. So when you go to heaven, you're going to see God through Jesus. He's the image of the invisible God. And he holds all power, all authority. Everything you see and everything you can't see was created by him and for him. So remember, we're learning this, that he's the same yesterday, today, and forever. And he is the image of the invisible God. You know, what's interesting about the Bible, especially in the Old Testament, where it's like God is, the Bible says that the universe can't contain him. And if he's this invisible God, how can we see him? And obviously we just read that we see him through Christ, but it's interesting because, for instance, if I had a clear balloon and I filled it with air, because I would say, show me air. What does air look like? And you fill up a clear balloon and you're like, oh, it's right here. And I would say, I still don't see it.
I see the balloon. I see that it's inflated, but I can't see what is inflating it. They're like, well, no. I blew into it. It's full of air. I said, no, I didn't say what's in there. I said, show me air. So then you say, well, okay, let me get this giant glass jar and you go like this, and you catch air and you seal it up real quick. And you carry it around and you're like, what is that? They're like, that's air. I'm like, it looks like an empty jar. No, there's air. It's trapped in it, but you can't see it. See, but we know it exists because we're alive right now. We're breathing. We can't see it, but it's there. It's evident clearly because we're alive. If there was no air, we would not be here. So what's interesting is that this is what I want to describe about this passage in this verse is that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. So I want to walk you through in this sermon series or get a deeper understanding because before we get a deeper understanding of who we are in Christ, we have to understand who Christ is. You know, it's interesting because if I said, show me air and you will take me outside on a clear day and you're like, look, it's right there.
I don't see it. How can I see air? How can you do it? And it's interesting because in the world, there is one way to see air. And I got blown away with the concept of this and the thought of this is basically, you know, when there is humid, dry air and, no, not humid and dry, it's different. When there is humid, cold air, I don't know which one. I'm not a scientist. There's hot air and there's cold air. Let's leave it at that. And when those two collide, it creates a funnel. Some of us, if you're from Texas, it's a tornado. And the force of the hot air and the cold air are so concentrated that it concentrates air that it creates a funnel. And when that funnel is formed, one can truly say, that's air right there. We can't see it right now. We can't see it. But when it's concentrated so much, it is air. It is literally looks like something physical. But really, if you have this giant arm, you can stick your arm right through that tornado. There's nothing to it. It's just concentrated air that is so tight, so compact that it creates a funnel that you can see, but it only lasts for a little while.
But the moment it touches, it destroys everything it hits. Well, and you can write this down. We're just going to keep going. 1 Timothy 3.16 says this. 1 Timothy 3.16, Paul writes to Timothy. And he says, great indeed we confess is the mystery of godliness. He says, so he tells Timothy, he says that God was manifested in the flesh. Somehow, God, this invisible God, showed himself for a little while here on Earth. But God is a spirit. What do you mean? Because for 2,000 years ago, there was a time and a moment, there was a time in history, when all of a sudden, the spirit of God was so compacted, it was such a powerful storm that was about to hit, that all of a sudden, you see this man named Jesus show up. God manifested in the flesh, touched down on the Earth, and destroyed everything he hit. See, can a tornado hit the ground, go through a city, and then there's no evidence of it? Have you ever seen the evidence of a tornado? I've seen the news. And it literally, you see a trail every place that tornado hit. And think about it, Jesus, God, was manifested in the flesh, came down and touched the Earth. And remember what he said, Jesus says, I came to destroy the kingdom of darkness. He came for a time, and he hit upon this Earth
for 33 and 1 half years, and destroyed the kingdom of darkness. He showed himself. Matter of fact, it says that he came to dismantle the kingdoms of the enemy. So we know that this is who Jesus is. He's the same yesterday, today, forever. He's the image of the invisible God. He cannot be seen, but for 33 years, 2,000 years ago, he was seen like a tornado. He hit the ground running and dismantled everything that he touched, because this is what he came to do. Then comes us. Now we have an understanding of Jesus. It comes to us. And in the beginning, if we go to Genesis 1, that should be easy to get to, page 1. It shouldn't take long. Starting in verse 26. And it says this. So in the beginning of creation, it says, then God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion, keep that word, you can underline it, dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. You know, I know God doesn't look like a giraffe. I know God doesn't look like a hippo. I know that because we are made in his image. But this is far much more than image than I have two arms, two legs, so he does too. No, it's something much deeper. It's the very essence of who God is. Do you know that you have emotions? Because he has emotions because we're made in his image. You laugh, that means he laughs. Trust me. I know he laughs at my life a lot. We are made in his image. In the same way, a child raised in a home that speaks French is going to speak French. A child will grow up, and that's why you see little boys, and they see their dad out in the yard. They see their dad changing the oil. They see their dad, and they want to be like dad. Or they see mom because they are made in their image, and because of that, in other words, they get their identity on who they see. Why do you think it's so dangerous many times when you have children who are young
and early teens, and mom and dad ignore them, and all they see is their friends at school and the stuff their friends are involved with? They want to identify with something so bad, and they can't identify with dad because he's gone. So they learn to identify and find their identity in the midst of whatever group they hang around in because it's only natural. It's like the octopus that changes color wherever it's at in its environment. But God, at this time, there was no sin, and he created this garden, this beautiful garden. He said, let us make man in our image, and the Bible says that God would walk with Adam in the garden every day. So who do you think Adam was going to act like? God had authority in all the universe, so he says, I'll tell you what, I'm giving you all authority over the earth. I have authority, you will have authority. And everything that God was, so was Adam, because he was like a moon. You know, a moon has no light, but it reflects the light that the sun hits it with. So God is the sun, and Adam is the moon. He's just simply reflecting back what he's learning. And think about it, there was no sin, there was no...anything that was wicked, that wasn't there, so that wasn't in Adam because he only reflected God. And he was made in our image and after our likeness. And not only that, but he gave him dominion. So it's almost like he...I have a piece of paper here. When you buy a house or you buy a car, you get the note, you get the pink slip, and it's like the Lord is saying, you know what, I made you in my image, and because I own things and I'm a boss, I'm going to make you own things and you're a boss, so this earth is yours. Here is the deed to the earth, Adam. Adam takes the deed. He says, really? He said, yeah, matter of fact, you name the animals because this is yours. And he holds on to this deed, but then he tells him that, well, actually, let's go to Genesis chapter 2, verse 15. So he forms Adam and he says, the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of... eat and to work it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man saying, you may surely eat of every tree of the garden.
He says, you can have all the apples you want, all the peaches you want. Look at this, look at this. You can have all you want. He says, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat. For in that day that you eat it, you shall surely die. You can have anything you want in here, but you can't eat from that tree or you will die. But then the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a helper fit for him. Now out of the ground, the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. And the man gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam, there was not found a helper fit for him. I love this because it says out of all the animals, God would take dirt and form it. Adam was formed out of dirt. The only thing that was not made from dirt is this interesting was Eve. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man. And while he slept, took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man, he made into a woman and brought her to the man. And the man said, this at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. So I imagine that all of these things, all of these animals that God had created was made from dirt. But it's like God says, I'm going to create someone for you that you will never want to separate from. Matter of fact, you can't hate her because she's a part of you. She's not made from dirt. She's a part of you. And here comes Eve. And then comes the verse that I quote almost every time I officiate a marriage. It says, therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife. And they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. So now Adam is learning from God, walking with God in the garden. And now he has somebody to pour into, somebody to teach. It was never God's job to teach her because then how would Adam ever learn dominion and authority? How would he ever learn responsibility? So God was like, because you are like me, he's I'll tell you what.
Because you are like me, he's I'll tell you what. I will tell you things. And you teach your wife. So it was always Adam's job to teach Eve the things that God was saying. Now, there's a verse in Psalm chapter 8. Told you you're going to use them Bibles today. Or you could just write them down and read them later. Psalm chapter 8, we have to understand this. We have to understand who we are. Psalm chapter 8, starting at verse 3. So this is a psalm of David, a shepherd boy who became the king of Israel. When you read the psalms, most of them were written by him. And they were actually songs that he would sing. These are song lyrics. If he was alive now, he'd probably be a rapper. He'd be dropping bars. In Psalm chapter 8, verse 3, look what he says. So this is David writing this. And he says, when I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers. Just imagine he's out there with the sheep. And he's like, wow, look at this sky. When I look at the heavens and the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is man that you were mindful of him? Have you ever looked at the sky and felt real tiny and small? I have. And if you haven't, go to Montana.
You will feel tiny. Because you just look at the mountains and the stars. And you're just like, man, I'm like a speck of dust. When you look at the heavens and the work of your fingers, what is man that you were mindful of him? and the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars Have you ever looked at the sky and felt real tiny which you have set in place. What is man that you are mindful of him and small? Have you ever looked at the moon and the work of your fingers? and the son of man that you care for him? Have you ever looked at the sky and felt real tiny And then he says this, because I have a feeling and small? that David understood that even though he had sheep, he goes, I'm not like an animal. I'm not like the bear. I'm not like the lion. I'm not like the goat. I'm different. There's something different about us humans than the animals. So then he says, you are mindful of mankind, he says, but in the next verse, yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings. And you have crowned him with glory and honor. Now, we know that later on in the New Testament, we know that Christ is the one that has glory and honor,
but I'm imagining that David was sitting there with his sheep. He's sitting there and he's just like, how is it that we're different? How, I mean, I look at the skies and I feel so tiny and small, yet there's something ingrained in us. There is something special about humanity. There's, we're not like, we're not like monkeys or giraffes or nothing. There's something different about us. And so he's saying like, man, we're like a little, just a little bit lower than those in heaven, than the heavenly beings. He uses this word, he says that you have crowned humanity with glory and honor. Now, now we're getting into who we are. You see, when we were created from the very beginning, we were made differently, even though he made all the animals from the dust and the dirt and all that. The Bible says that when he formed Adam, he formed him, then he breathed into him and Adam became a living being. He breathed his spirit in him. So according to the scripture, mankind, there's a glory and a honor that is within us. See, the whole world will tell us we ain't nothing. We're garbage. You're nothing but addicts.
You're nothing but a drunk. You're nothing but this. You're nothing but that, right? The world will say that. You gotta remember everything Satan says, the opposite is true. So if the world says it to you, don't believe it because God says the opposite. That is why there's value in a human life because there's glory and honor in every person because we are, why? Because we are made in the image of God. So when you think and say, man, I'm not worth nothing, what are you talking about? You are made in the image of God. That counts for something. Have you ever had your children grow up and maybe your children go astray and the world sees them as nothing but a drug addict, nothing this, a gangbanger, this and that, nothing but a jailbird, a convict, but to you, that's my son. That is my son. That's my brother. That's my sister. You know what? The world might think you're garbage, but to me, you're valuable. You are not a prison number. You are not just some person under the alley.
You are not that person. You are somebody. So in the same way, guys, a lot of times the enemy will make you think you are because of the, what just surrounds you, but God says, no, I created you with glory and honor. But see, we don't see ourselves that way. So what have we learned up to this point? Let's make some bullet points here. We have learned that God alone is a creator of all things. He's the same yesterday, today and forever. We know all things were created by him and for him, whether it's visible and invisible. We know that. We read it in scripture that he alone is a creator. Satan is not a creator. Satan is not nothing. He's a created being. Only God alone is a creator of all things. Satan can't create nothing, only God. We learned that God created us in his image. We have learned that God gave Adam dominion. He gave him the deed, and he says, here, you have authority over this earth. But we know that God gave Adam a warning. You could eat anything you want in this, just don't eat from that tree. We know that Adam was given a helper, and that helper was named Eve. And we know that God crowned mankind with glory and honor.
So God gave Adam and Eve an identity. You are made in my image. And because I have honor and glory, so do you, and you have authority and dominion. Minion on this earth We know these things but Didn't last long did it in? Genesis chapter 3 I should have told you to hold on to Genesis, but back a couple page 2 or 3 Genesis chapter 3 Starting in verse 1 I'm gonna go and start reading because we're gonna read 1 through 12 This is now the serpent We're gonna talk about this serpent in a minute now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made and He said to the woman this serpent did God actually say you shall not eat of any tree in the garden Did God say that that you And the woman said to the serpent we may eat of the tree of the fruit of the trees in the garden But God said you shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden Garden neither shall you touch it lest you die But the serpent said to the woman you will not surely die For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God Knowing good and evil You know, what's crazy is that? This is like selling snow to an Eskimo That's like going to the desert and selling somebody sand They walked with God they were made in his image they already had authority They already had dominion and Satan comes and says man You'll be just like him and Adam or Eve should have been like I'm already like him Why are you trying to sell me something that I don't need
In verse 5 when God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be open and you'll be like God knowing good and evil so when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and That it was the delight to the eyes that the tree was to be desired to make one wise she took of its fruit and ate and She also gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate then the eyes of both were opened and They knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths That would be like somebody saying Do some heroin You won't get addicted No, and people get addicted I heard after they do one that's it it's over after that no, no, no That's them. But how do you know? It won't be you unless you try it Ain't that the trick You won't be addicted you won't be like those people out there you you're different you're stronger you you have more willpower You Satan was like listen, all you know is the good things. You don't know the bad So until you taste the bad how you know, it's good and for whatever reason there goes Eve And then she gives it to Adam who knew better but he still ate it anyways and Verse a says and they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden of the cool of the day So they eat this fruit all of a sudden they hear God coming for his daily walk They hear him walking through the garden boom, they're just like oh man They felt fear. They never felt fear before they felt shame. They never felt shame before because of that they self-condemned themselves So now they felt condemnation and they felt guilt because they knew they shouldn't have done it And He was walking in the cool of the day and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among The trees of the garden, but the Lord called to the man Who did he put in charge? man
Where are you Adam? Where are you, you know and I've said this before and I think it's interesting Do you think there was some kind of special tree or bush that God couldn't see through? Of course he knew where Adam was at So he wasn't asking Adam like hey, where are you? I can't find you. You're you put you got really good at hide-and-seek You cannot hide from God scripture says we can go to the highest mountain We could go to the depths of hell and he will still find us So when he's saying Adam, where are you? He's saying I don't recognize who you are anymore You were made in my image and I don't have fear. I don't have condemnation. I don't have guilt Why do I see it written all over you? In the same way some of us were raised with a cousin a brother a Sibling and they were just wonderful, but then they got addicted to drugs You lost track of them for 10 years all of a sudden you finally run into him on 9th Street And just like hey, it's me and they're just like looking at you like Like you almost see a glimmer of who of theirs who they used to be just just real tiny in their eyes And you're like is that is that you and then they recognize it oh, yeah, that's me it's me they try to straighten up It's me. I'm doing I'm doing good You know, and I'm just hustling And everything in you wants to grab them and shake them say what are you doing? I Knew you as a teenager. I knew your mom. I knew your dad I used to talk about being an astronaut used to talk about this used to talk about that. Who are you? I don't recognize you anymore This is what God saw when he saw Adam who are you I Didn't teach you to be like this. I didn't teach you to hide from nothing but you're hiding and Adam says I I heard the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself and The Lord said who told you that you were naked Hmm have you eaten of the tree at which I commanded you not to eat and The man said yeah, well the woman you gave me
She gave me the fruit of the tree and then I ate Yeah, we still blame our wives I don't want to look that way right now But Adam was the one in the wrong It was Adam who was disobedient Matter of fact that it wasn't when she ate that God came looking for them. It was when he ate He still had a moment to rebuke. He still had a moment to to correct But instead he's like, oh that looks good And he ate it, too So we know that this caused the fall but that I want to talk about this serpent But was it really a snake You know in the Hebrew it's uses this interesting word nahash And when it gets translated into English we put serpent But there's different definitions of nahash. It wasn't only just a snake Matter of fact the word Nahash meant serpent. That's one thing. It didn't mean a snake. It meant a snake Matter of fact the word Nahash meant serpent. That's one thing. It didn't mean, you know a snake. It also meant a shiny one Or one who shines and check this it also meant the sorcerer and the deceiver hmm So This serpent he's a snake and I've used this often right because many of us we've gone to used car lot and You leave like you need a shower because the salesman was so sleazy And you're and what do you say you're like man, hey, what did you get that car? Nah, man, that's that car salesman was a snake Does that mean? That the car salesman was a Snake. No, it was just it was a way of communicating like oh man. I do this. He's a deceiver He was a snake So in the same way when we read Genesis Nahash did mean a serpent, but it meant a shining one
Now here's what's interesting is the Bible says that when Lucifer was created he created him with the most beautiful jewels It actually says that instruments were embedded in his body Think about that not only he was made with the most beautiful gems and jewels So if you shine the light on Satan, I don't think he would have a red pit red suit and a red pitchfork He would be brilliant. He'd look like a diamond. He'd look like a shiny one Remember serpent shining one one who shines a sorcerer and a deceiver And I find that very interesting Doesn't the scripture say that he comes as an angel of light? So we see this Nahash there, and you would think, like, why was he in the garden in the first place? Why would God allow him? Matter of fact, the Bible says that he was the most trusted sheriff of all. That was God's right-hand angel. He's the one he trusted the most. So he creates the earth, puts Adam and Eve there, and he's like, hmm, which of my angels do I put to make sure that Adam's okay? Oh, my most beautiful one, the shiny one. Matter of fact, it says that he was the guardian in the garden. This is Bible. And he was there. You know, how many of you have been betrayed in your life or backstabbed? Right? I have. It don't feel good, right? This is the biggest betrayal that will trump any movie you've ever seen on betrayal. The most trusted sheriff, the most trusted angelic being was put in the garden to protect Adam and Eve, and this is the very one that started building things in his heart against God. The Bible said he wanted to be like God. He wanted to be worshiped like God.
And he caused them to fall. Now Adam is filled with shame, guilt, fear, and condemnation. If we really think about it, right, most of us, when we came out of the world, the reason we didn't come to God, the reason we didn't want to, because we felt these things. We felt shame, and because we felt ashamed, we felt guilty, and because we felt guilty, it gave us fear, and we walked away with condemnation, condemning ourselves. This has been the playbook from the beginning. Satan don't have new tricks. It's the same thing. In Romans, if we can go to Romans, we're going to stay there for a little bit. In the New Testament, the book of Romans, chapter 6, verse 16, this is a really interesting verse that gets glossed over so many times. Romans 6, 16. So there is something that happened. Remember I was talking about the deed? Adam had the deed. Adam had authority. Adam had dominion, but the moment the fall came, he lost the deed to this earth. See, Satan wanted to be like God. Satan wanted to have dominion. Satan wanted to have authority, and he says, you know what? I can't fight God, but I'll fight the creation. As a matter of fact, I'll fight the creation, and I will take his dominion, and I'll take his authority, and I'll cause him to fall in sin, and if he was made in the image of God, I will have God completely regret he made Adam, and he caused him to fall, and because of that, Satan's like, oh, that deed belongs to me. I'm now the God of this world. All authority and all dominion now belongs to me. That makes you, Adam, since you are on earth, subject to me. Now bow down.
As a matter of fact, not just you, but for all mankind, you have all been infected with what you did. You're the dummy that ate from the fruit, so now you've infected your children, your grandchildren, and everybody after that, and I have the deed, and nobody can take it from me. Wow. In Romans chapter 6, verse 16, look what it says. He says, do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin that leads to death or of obedience which leads to righteousness? In other words, this scripture says that you become a slave to the voice you obey. What happened when Eve listened? She became a slave to the voice that she listened to. What happened to Adam? He became a slave. So this scripture says the voice that you obey, you become a slave to it. Why do you think Jesus says, my sheep hear my voice? See a lot of Christians, you come into Christ, you had a true repentance, but you got so accustomed to listening to the devils of your past that you'd have no time to listen to the God of your future, and because of that, within weeks or months or a couple years, you're still bound because you're a slave to the one you're still obeying and listening to, and you're struggling your whole Christian life, and you're like, I don't know how to do this. I can only act on Sundays. I can't fellowship during the week because I can only keep it up on Sunday for a couple hours because the whole time is in true reality you're a slave to the old things of your life. And sometimes we want to give our life to the Lord but there's one or two little strings that we can't quite let go whether it's lustful things or whatever though those things still have a hold but when nobody's watching you're still you're still listening to him because
of that you're in chain to it and you're still in slave to it because you're a slave to the voice you obey. But according to this verse don't you know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves you're slaves of the one you obey so either of sin at least a death or you're going to become a slave to the voice of obedience which leads to righteousness. What is righteousness? To be in right standing with God. So we have a choice to make of what we're going to be a slave to because you're going to be a slave to something. An atheist will say I'm not a slave to nothing you just you're a slave to your belief of atheism you just enslaved yourself to that ideology. In Romans 6 23 the same chapter go down to 23 look what it says about sin it says for the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. So Adam fell in sin because of Adam it infected all of us with this sin with the stain there's no vaccine there's no way to take it away from us there's no way to wash it off no matter what soap you get nothing can wash it off and according to this the wages of that sin is death. Then God say the moment you eat of it you shall surely die because they were eternal beings there was no death but the moment they ate it death came upon them and the countdown of death began because those are the wages of sin when you get a job you get your wages in the end you get your paycheck in the end and you get paid according to how much you worked but according to the Bible we've worked sin so much that your payment is a death and we're just stuck like it's like thanks Adam thanks because whether I sin like you or not I'm still infected and my wage is still death death still reigns if you go to the next chapter 7 starting at 15 something really interesting here in 7 15 we're gonna go down to 24 Paul writes this and I'm gonna read it and talk about it for a little bit Paul says for I do not understand my own actions for I do not do what I want but I do the very thing that I hate and you know what's messed up is a lot of Christians right now like this right now man I know what I'm supposed to do but I don't do it and I know what I shouldn't
do but I end up doing it 16 now if I do what I do not want I agree with the law that it's good but now it is no longer I who do it but sin that dwells in me so even Paul's like he's like man do you know just humanity itself we can't help it because we're stained with this thing there's nothing they can you know there's these plants I have in my aquarium their life plants and and if if rot goes to the roots no matter how much I clip the leaves up top no matter what it's still gonna be rotten because the roots are rotten I'm not gonna get nothing different same thing with plants or vegetables or whatever if the roots are rotten the fruit is not gonna be good so in the same way a lot of times we want to live a Christian life and the whole time our roots are still in the kingdom of darkness and we're trying to produce good fruit and we're done figuring out what's wrong is because our roots are rotten 18 he says for I know that nothing good dwells in me that is in my flesh for I have the desire to do what is right but not the ability to carry it out man I want to do good I want to serve God I want to be good to my spouse I want to be good to my children I want to I want to do these things but you know what I can't do it I don't have the ability. 19 says for I do not do the good I want but the evil that I don't want is what I keep on doing. He said now if I do what I do not want it is no longer I who do it but the sin that dwells in me. He's like man I'm rotten to the core no matter how much I try to fix my situation nothing can fix it. 21 says so I find it to be a law that when what that when I want to do right evil lies close at hand. Every time I want to do good it's like man there's Satan trying to throw something right in my face. The very thing I was trying to avoid all of a sudden gets slapped in my face over and over and over. He says for I delight in the law of God in my inner being. Lord in inside I love you I love you so much Lord on the inside but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive. You know captive is chained to the law of sin that dwells in my members even though Lord in my spirit and my soul I want to serve you by my flesh man. It's like I'm completely wrapped up in chains and I don't know how to be set free. In 24 he says oh wretched man that I am who would deliver me from this body of death. There's a pastor that was my parents pastor many years ago he passed away. It was a little church in Stockton I love that pastor. He he had missing fingers you guys ever heard me talk about him? He had missing fingers like half the fingers and I always used to tell
and I always remembered as a kid because he would he was one of those preachers that would always point and he would point his little stubs at you know and as a kid you know kids don't have filters you know and I'm just like look at his stubby fingers you know I mean and but I grew up to love him and he had a son who was a heroin addict. I never knew the son or probably didn't pay attention I don't know if he ever came to church I was just a little kid you know and and one day I remember finding out that his his son had hung himself at a time when he was clean because he would go into heroin and try to get right and try to do things right and try to live right and then he would fall back in and then he would try to get right and try to clean up and he'd fall back in and he did it so many times that he started to feel that itch again and he was doing so good that he left a note I don't know if he left it to the pastor or his parents I don't know I was too young and I never asked about it since it just came to my mind right now but basically from what I remember the note said I'm so sorry I did this I love Jesus with all of my heart all of my soul but I don't know how to love him with this body that craves this drug so bad and I would rather just end it now and he hung himself I see in my members another law waging war against the law in my mind and it's making me captive to the law of sin oh wretched man that I am who will save me from death this constant fight see Adam and Eve were given an identity and authority by God himself God said you were like me you're made in my image you are you have glory you have there's something special about you you are just like me I made you like me but now you're acting like something else instead you have replaced it with shame and guilt and condemnation and fear and because of that mankind lost all authority on this earth and this deed now belongs to Satan and all mankind all the way from the beginning of Genesis all the way until Jesus man has cried out oh wretched man that I am who will save me I know the laws of Moses I know the ten commandments I know all these things but every time I try to do good I can't do good and every time I think I'm gonna do things right I end up falling and slipping and messing up I don't know what to do and I don't even have dominion here anymore I don't have authority anymore all these demons and all these gods on this earth and I he constantly makes me bow down to this kingdom of darkness who will save me who will get the deed back
no matter how great the prophets were none of them could do it Isaiah couldn't do it Ezekiel couldn't do it Daniel couldn't do it Moses couldn't do it they would preach the word of God but none of them could take the deed back from Satan's hand Nobody was worthy. Nobody could do it. And because of that, the Bible says that the earth became so wicked and dark, infected with sin. In Romans chapter 5, verse 12, look what it says. It says, therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man. Who was the one man that sin came through? Adam. And death through sin. And so death spread to all men, because all sinned. So because of what Adam did, one person, one man, because of what he did, we were all infected. Look at Romans 5, 14, right there, jump down two verses. It says, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam. What does that mean? It says, even if you didn't sin like Adam sinned, you were still infected. And I always compare to the show Walking Dead, where they were trying not to get bit because they didn't want to become zombies. And later on in the series, they find out we're all infected. Whether we get bit or not, the moment we die, we turn into zombies.
There's no hope because we're infected. In the same way, this is saying, even if you didn't get bit, or even if you didn't bite the fruit, you're still infected. So not only has death spread to all men, but now everybody's infected. And now, if we go to 1 Corinthians, back up a little bit. I mean, not back up, go forward a little bit to chapter 15, verse 22. You guys getting something from this? OK, amen. Praise God. 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verse 22. Look at this. It's just solidifying what I'm saying. That way, we know it's in scripture. Verse 22, it says, for as in Adam, all die. So also in Christ shall all be made alive. So sin brought death. Sin brought transgression. Satan has free reign, and he becomes the god of this world. A lot of times, I've had people ask me, how come I don't read about people being possessed by demons in the Old Testament? You only read about it in the Gospels. Well, why would Satan had to possess anybody in the Old Testament if he already possessed them? Do you understand what I mean? This wallet is in my possession. So I don't need to take possession of this wallet.
It's in my possession already. So in the same way, Satan had the whole world in his possession. Why would he need to manifest and possess anyone? They were already in his possession. Make sense? So Satan has free reign. He's mocking the prophets throughout the whole all the way from Genesis to Malachi. Satan is mocking the prophets, having the prophets killed, having the prophet Isaiah was sawed in half. Prophets were killed. Prophets were mocked. Jeremiah, they threw him into a dark pit. They put him up on a cage in front of everybody in the hot sun so everybody can make fun of him. Everybody hated Jeremiah. So many of the prophets were mocked. Why? Because nothing could stop the god of this world. Because he had the deed. And nobody could take it. It's almost like he mocked the prophets. He said, go ahead. Keep preaching. Keep doing whatever. I still have the deed. You can say what you want, but it belongs to me. All authority and all dominion is mine. Can you imagine that?
Imagine Satan coming to you and saying, you know, why are you praying for your children? They're mine. And why are you praying for your grandchildren? They're mine. Why are you praying for your spouse? He's mine. She's mine. There's nothing you can do. Ha, ha, ha. There's nothing you can do. They're mine. They're my possession. I don't know about you, but that gets me mad. Like, not my kids. I see the word of God, and it says, if God blesses me, he'll bless the generations after me. But Satan mocked. For as in Adam all die, also in Christ shall all be made alive. As a matter of fact, in 2nd Corinthians 4.4, let's read it from the word and not just from David's mouth, I actually had somebody tell me that I was teaching false, that one time somebody said that Satan is not the God of this world and that I was teaching blasphemy. I was like, really? So I guess you got to rip this out of your Bible then, because in 2nd Corinthians 4.4, it says, and even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case, the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. Did we just read that? Who's the God of this world? We just read it.
It says it right there. And he was taunting and taunting humanity the whole time, making fun the whole time, saying things and saying whatever the whole time, attacking the prophets the whole time, attacking those that followed after the Lord the whole time. I'll read it again. In their case, the God of this world, the one that had the deed, has blinded the minds of the unbelievers. Blinded them from what? From seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. So as we wrap this up for part one, I don't want to end it on a down note because I don't want to give the enemy any glory at all. The world needed a savior. Satan was like, ha-ha, I got this deed. The world needed a savior. Adam lost his identity to shame, guilt, condemnation, and fear, but the world needed a savior. By obeying Satan, Adam became a slave to sin because the voice you obey, you become a slave to it. The world needs a savior. Adam brought death to all humans and all creation. The world needs a savior. Adam infected himself and all after him in sin. The world needs a savior. Adam broke the line of communication between man and God. The world needs a savior. Adam ruined our status in right standing with God. The world needs a savior. The whole time, matter of fact, the Bible says that the earth itself grumbles and shakes because somebody needs to save this infection of sin. No matter what we read, all the prophets and all the great kings of Israel and all that, the world needed a savior.
They can have kingdoms, they can have armies, they can have all of these things. They can build a temple with gold, but no matter what, nobody could take the deed away from the enemy. You can say what you want, but who can take the deed? But there was a prophecy. In 2 Samuel chapter 7, there was a prophecy, 2 Samuel chapter 7, starting in verse 12. This is a beautiful prophecy. I want you to think about this. David, the young shepherd boy who sang that song, he was now the king. He killed Goliath. He was known for killing the giant. And he was so worried because David had not made very good decisions sometimes and he made some bad decisions and he was crying out to God and he's like, what's going to happen? What's going to happen? You anointed me king and I let you down, God. What's going to happen? And this is a beautiful prophecy of what God told him. 2 Samuel chapter 7, verse 12, look what the Lord told him. He says, when your days are fulfilled, David, and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you who shall come from your body and I will establish his kingdom and he shall build a house for my name and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be to him a father and he shall be to me a son. And when he commits iniquity, I would discipline him with the right of men, with the stripes of the sons of men. But my steadfast love will not depart from him as I took it from Saul, who I also put away from before you. And he tells David this, and the house of your and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me.
your throne shall be established forever. This is a prophetic word. Remember, how do we take the deed away? And this is like a little hint, a little glimpse, a little clue. And God has started to say, oh, no, no, no, no. You don't understand. Out of your kingdom, somebody is coming. And that clown that's been waving this deed around, somebody is gonna come and rip that right out of his hand. And he's coming, so get ready. He is coming, get ready. Matter of fact, in Isaiah 53, six, it says, we are all like sheep. We all have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way. So mankind was lost. Mankind was infected with sin, and there was nothing we could do. There's nothing we could remedy about it. Satan's walking around like he owns the place, walking around with this deed, and nobody can take it out of his hand for years and years and centuries and centuries. But there was this little church in Nazareth, and the young man would take turns. And one week, it was one man's turn, and he would come up, and he would open the scroll, and he would read a scripture, and then he would share what that scripture meant to him.
And each week, they did this in this little town of Nazareth 2,000 years ago. And it was normal for the young man to come up. And it was a big deal because he was, wow, he was able to go up there and share what his heart meant in a scripture. And there was this young man, 30 years old, and it was his turn to come and share the scripture. And everybody in Israel said, when is the one coming, when is the promise coming where they will take the deed out of that clown's hand? And this young man named Jesus took the scroll of Isaiah, and he opened the scrolls, and he began to read. In Luke chapter four, verse 16, it says, he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood to read. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. And it was just like every other service, every other week, every other young man, nobody thought nothing of it. It says, he unrolled the scroll and he found the place. And he begins to read. And he reads, the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. And he has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.
They didn't understand it at first. It says, he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant. And he went back down and sat down. And everybody's looking at him. See, he was supposed to read and share what the scripture meant. But Jesus read it. This was prophecy about the one that was gonna come to take the deed back. And he read that verse and he sat down. And they were all looking at him. Like, hey, you're supposed to share, you're supposed to. I love it. Do you understand? When somebody's at war, they don't sit down. When somebody's at war, they're ready. You don't go to a boxing, a big old boxing match and they go behind the scenes and the boxer's there. He's just like doing all this and doing that. Can you imagine going back there and he's just chilling on the recliner watching Netflix? Like, what are you doing? You're about to get in a fight, man. You gotta get your blood going. And he's like, man, I'm gonna knock you down. Jesus closed the scroll, sat down. And then he says, today, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing. In other words, what he was saying,
what he was proclaiming, he says, listen, this scripture, this is the spirit of the Lord is upon me. I'm telling you, I'm not just reading it. The spirit of the Lord is upon me, Jesus says. He has anointed me to proclaim good news. He has set me to proclaim liberty to those who are enslaved to sin, to those who are infected with sin. Jesus says, I am coming to give them liberty. I'm coming to give sight to those who were blind. And of my... Favorite part he says I came to set liberty to those who were oppressed those who were chained those who were in bondage those who Were in addiction those are in alcoholism those who were chained up by the darkness of this world Those who are deeply rooted in the filthy filth of the of the kingdom of darkness and Jesus's man I'm coming to set it free. Hey, you listen to that clown. Look at that clown. He's holding the deed I'm about to take that deed. I'm about to take it once and for all I'm about to take authority Ha Church There is no reason for you to walk in bondage anymore There is no reason for you to live in chains anymore. There was no reason for you to have rotten fruit anymore There was no reason for you to associate to Adam anymore The Bible says that Jesus came to undo what the first Adam did to set us free and set the captive free Let's all stand My Prayers that in these four weeks you're gonna learn who you are in Christ so much that you will start to glow You will start to walk in confidence. You're gonna walk with your back a little bit straighter You're gonna walk with your head up a little bit more you're gonna begin to speak in authority a little bit more and more and more because once you get to an understanding of who you are in Christ You
Are no longer enslaved to him if you have surrendered your life to Jesus If there is somebody here If you're still enslaved you're listening to this you're just like man. I never accepted Christ, but you know what man That's crazy that you shared this message. I'm inviting you right now. Today is a day of salvation. Tomorrow's not promised. Let's do it right now Why would you want to leave this place in chains? Why would you want to leave this place still in your old field? Why would you want to leave this place still listening and being a slave to the old voice? It's time for a new day I'm talking to those that are watching through their screen also Today's a day of salvation If that is you I invite you to come up right now, come on man Don't let those chains hold you down Don't let those chains hold you down This whole service is for you. Do you understand? This whole service this whole message that God gave me is for you It was meant for you. You are here because God is crying out to you There's no specific prayer, but I'll tell you this I will guide you The Bible says that when you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord you shall be saved Why is that so important when you say he's Lord? Because when he's your Lord, that means he's your king Because the king of this world the God of this world is Somebody you have bowed down to whether you wanted to or not all your life But right now what you're saying is, you know what Satan I don't belong to you anymore You are not my king. You are not my Savior. You are not the one that redeems me So right now if I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord That's me saying he is the king. He's the one that reigns supreme And if that is you I want you to repeat after me and say Lord God I repent of all my sins I Believe you died on the cross and after three days Death couldn't hold you down You took the keys of Hades in death You have all authority
Live inside of me Take out my old heart and give me a brand new heart in Jesus name Amen, amen. Amen. Let's give the Lord a hand I Would tell you right now if you prayed that prayer and you didn't feel nothing don't worry about it You're gonna feel it watch the sky is gonna look different Your thoughts are gonna be different. Your dreams are gonna be different. It is the greatest thing I ever did I love my wife and I love our wedding day, but I'm sorry the day I gave my life to the Lord is better The day I surrendered my life to my king it is better it is the best decision I've ever made in my entire life And if you've surrendered your life to the Lord is the greatest thing you have ever done and could ever do Because it begins a new chapter I want to I want to give everybody an opportunity to come up to the altar and I want you to understand these things that we learned today. I want you to remember and understand that God is a creator. We're made in his image. God crowned you with glory and honor. You are worth something. I don't know who I'm talking to but you feel like you have no worth. You you can't even stand looking at yourself in the mirror because you feel there's no worth and the Lord is saying stop listening to the old self. I am telling you that there's honor and glory on you. You are worth something. You have value. If you have value if you crumble up a crispy hundred dollar bill it's still worth a hundred dollars. You might be here with scars and and and all kinds of mess in your life but you still hold value and I want you to just spend some time with your Lord. Spend some time with your God as we worship together. Oh you're worthy of it all for from you are all things and to you are all things you deserve the glory
you're worthy Lord worthy Lord all the saints and angels bow before your throne all the saints and angels bow before your throne all the saints and angels bow before your throne all the elders cast their crowns before the Lamb of God and say you are worthy of it all you are worthy of it all He is worthy. He is worthy. He is worthy for from you are all things and to you are all things you deserve the glory worthy of it all you are worthy of it all for from you are all things and to you are all things you deserve the glory you are worthy of it all you are worthy of it all you are worthy of it all for from you are all things Until you are at least, you deserve the glory Yes Lord, yes Lord I lift everyone up in this building Lord God, in the name of Jesus Lord We thank you for what you did
We thank you because you came to set the captive free We thank you because you came to give sight to the blind We thank you because of who you are Lord Without you we were lost, without you we were in darkness Lord But you made another way You are worthy of it all Yes Lord, thank you Jesus For from you are all things Until you are at least You deserve the glory, make it known You are worthy of it all For from you are all things Until you are at least You deserve the glory You are worthy of it all For from you are all things Until you are at least You deserve the glory Yes Lord, yes Lord We thank you God We honor you Lord From you are all things Until you are at least From you are all things Until you are at least From you are all things Until you are at least From you are all things Until you are at least You deserve
the glory Amen, amen, amen. Let's give the Lord a hand. Thank you, Lord. My prayer is that through this series that you will learn your identity in Christ and you will be solidified in it. God bless you. Thank you so much. Have a great Sunday. Have a great week. Hope to see you in Bible study. God bless you. Have you decided to follow Jesus? Amen.
We are honest. Sometimes it is easy to say, yes, I do it, but at the moment it is difficult. There was a story in the Bible where a man of God, God told him to take his son, his only son, and take firewood and take him to the mountain where he told him. To the mountain, to sacrifice him. This man, I assure you that this man was hard for him, to take firewood, to take his son, and to have that knife. He knew that he had to sacrifice his son, because God told him. Now, God has not told us to sacrifice our son, but he has told us to sacrifice many things in our life. In our life. You know what it is, that God has told you to sacrifice. This person was about to kill his son, when an angel from heaven said to him, Abraham, Abraham, do not do it. Do not do it. God has seen your faith, and he did not do it. Abraham knew that God was going to provide a lamb, and the lamb was there, stuck in the wire that God provided, instead of his son, his only son. Are you with me? Number two. God's love does not change when we change. Listen to the following.
People can love us while everything is fine, but when we fail, they disappear, right? They disappear, or they just stop loving you physically, not spiritually. When we have money, we have friends, when we are successful, everyone wants to be on our side, and be there with us, but when we fall, we clearly discover who is with us. Amen? Who is with us? Be very careful with people who say, be our friends. Because not everyone is beneficial to your life. You have to ask God to put the right people in your path, to be those faithful friends who will encourage you in your faith, and will help you in your walk with the Lord, who will tell you the truth even if it hurts you. We who are in Christ, how good that we are in Christ, right? But we have to know that being in Christ, we also have to be very careful with those people who surround us, especially when we are trying day after day to make an effort to live spiritually, a spiritual life. Because there will always be the uncle, the sister, the partner, there will be different people who will want to distract you and take you away from the path of God. Or they will simply tell you, take one, or do this. Jesus said to his disciples, I will no longer call you servants, because the servant does not know what his Lord does, but I have called you friends, because all the things I heard from my Father or have made you know. Now, the love of God is different than any other love of friend, of wife, husband, relative, family. The love of God is much more different than the love that we have for each other, mutually.
Jeremiah chapter 31, verse 3 says, Jehovah manifested himself to me a long time ago, saying, With eternal love I have loved you, therefore I have extended my mercy to you. It says eternal love, it does not say temporary love, it does not say conditional love, right? It says with eternal love. It does not say, I will love you while you do not fail. It says, with eternal love I have loved you. God has loved us.

"'Breath.'" Something we need to make clear is that God promised that He would always be with us. He didn't promise that you wouldn't go through valleys. He didn't promise that you wouldn't go through storms. What He did promise is that He will never leave you and will never forsake you. Amen? He won't. He is with you and will be with you. He says, "'Even if you are almost drowning in the water, you will not drown. And if you go through the fire, you will not burn.'" He loves you. He loves us. And maybe you're going through a family valley or an economic, emotional, or spiritual valley. Or maybe you don't understand why you're going through what you're going through in your life. You know? God continues to love you and is with you to help you. Acclaim Him and believe what He says in His Word, that when we seek Him from the heart, we will find Him. God doesn't fulfill whims. But yes, God fulfills His Word that if we seek Him from the heart, we will find Him. Amen?
The love of God seeks us when we are lost. The man, when the parable that Jesus said, when there was a man who had his 100 sheep, he left the 99 to go look for the one who was lost. And it's the same. Jesus will never leave you. He will always look for you. Sometimes we say, I found God. No, no, God was never lost. We were lost. God went to look for us where we were hidden. Amen? Where we were hidden. But the man of those sheep left the 99 and went to look for that sheep. When he found it, he put it on his shoulders and rejoiced. Amen? That's how God does it. That's how God does it. God, when a sinner repents, says that there is a feast in heaven for a sinner who repents. God didn't look for what was already found. God looks for what is lost. Amen? Scripture says, Because the Son of Man came to seek and to save
what had been lost. And that means that your past does not disqualify you from the mercy of God. You have the opportunity to repent and seek God and return to God. Amen? Finally, well, we're almost done. It's not the last thing, but God's love does not mean that God approves our sin. I mean, God loves sinners like you and me, right? Sometimes we fail. We are not perfect. And Jesus said to an adulterous woman, I do not condemn you, go and sin no more. And that's the same words that Jesus tells us. When he forgives us, he also tells us, go and sin no more. Amen? Because if we were condemned, we would not be alive. Those people who brought that woman who committed, they found her in the act of adultery, those men were in front of Jesus and they waited for Jesus to do something
against that woman. Jesus told them, whoever is without sin, throw the first stone. And none, one looked at the other, and none could throw that stone, but they threw it to the ground and they went one by one, one by one. Similarly, we fail and we have no, I mean, we do not have the right to judge anyone, but we do have the right to speak the truth to everyone. Just as people were, they were insisting that I come to the church, that I repent of my sins, we must do the same with the people who are out there, because God loves them, all those people. Amen? God loves them. The perfect love that God can give us is Jesus.
It's Jesus. Y todo eso pasó por nosotros, ¿amén? Por nosotros. Dios ama a toda persona.
What is it? Solución. Gracias, hermana. Ya no tiene solución. He's a lost cause, dicen en inglés.
Él no rechaza a nadie.

Yes you will Jesus, Jesus Jesus, Jesus We thank you, blessed God, for all that you have spoken to our life today. We thank you, blessed God, because we know that you love us unconditionally. Thank you for the love that you have for us, Lord, that you were willing to give your only begotten Son, Jesus. Thank you, my God, for the love that you have for us, my God. Thank you, my God, because nothing can separate us from your unconditional love, Lord. I ask you with all my heart, blessed God, that you, my God, help us to love as you have loved us, Lord, unconditionally, Lord Jesus Christ. Even the most difficult people, no matter how difficult it is to love them, that you help us to love them, heavenly Fathers. And that we leave, Lord, that you, my God, take charge of judging, take charge of applying the discipline that you want to those people, my God, who have damaged our life. We ask you in the name of Jesus Christ and we ask you in the name of Jesus that you have mercy on all those people, Father, who have risen against our life for the years since this moment, Lord. And that you, my God, Father, help them, my God, so that they, my God, may repent and may also, Lord, experience unconditional love through your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask you, Lord, that you, my God, give the opportunity to all those people who hate you, to all those people who do not want to believe in you, to all those people who are living in sin right now, Lord, that you give them the opportunity to know you, Lord Jesus, and that they repent of their sins, so that they may also be saved and transformed and changed with the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen, amen, amen. God bless you. My wife is going to have surgery this Wednesday, so have my wife in prayer, please. I thank you and we will be in communication. Amen. God bless you. Amen.
