There's a place for you to worship, learn, serve, grow, and become everything God has called you to be. Thank you for joining us at House of Rest Church Modesto. We are a Grace International Church, part of a global family of more than 5,000 churches worldwide. Welcome home. Our yearly Grace International Regional Leadership Conference, this September 28th and 29th, is finally coming up. All Grace churches from California, Arizona, and Nevada will get together for a time of learning, encouragement, and fellowship at Grace at the Circle Church, 308 South Glassel Street, Orange, California. The best part is that we encourage our House of Rest Church family to stay at the same hotel for fellowship and bonding. The hotel has a great free breakfast. Here is the game plan. On September 27th, Sunday after service, those of us who would like to volunteer to help set up will leave right after church and meet at the Grace at the Circle Church in Orange, early Sunday evening, or you can come any time, and we will be excited to see you. If you have any questions, please ask Pastor David or Sharon. Good morning.
There we go. Thank you, Pastor Sharon. I guess I need a lesson in turning the microphone on again. Sorry, everyone. How is everyone today? Bless. Yay. Everyone, give it up for our worship team. Aren't they amazing? Thank you. Thank you, everyone, who's up here leading us in with the presence of God every Sunday morning. You do such an amazing job. So the Grace International Conference is coming up in a couple of weeks. I hope everyone is able to come. It's always such an amazing time. Traveling with our House of Rest Church family is always so much fun, and Grace International Conferences are filled. I don't even really have the words. The content, the things that they share, the enrichment that you receive, attending their conferences is like nothing else. Well, I don't want to say like nothing else, because the content we get here at House of Rest is pretty comparable, right? Pastor David gives some pretty good stuff here every Sunday morning. But it is. It's a really great time. But I hope that you guys can make it September 28th and 29th as the conference. I hope you can join. We are also doing today right after service is discipleship class number one. So there's a series of six discipleship classes that just take you a little bit deeper into
what we believe here at House of Rest and how to walk with the Lord a little deeper. So those are a really good thing. If you can come at the end of it, you get a graduation, you did a little graduation ceremony, a certificate and a beautiful lapel pin. It's really a lot of fun and you'll see a little bit what graduation looks like later on today. So discipleship class number one and then today or excuse me, now let's get ready for a meet and greet. So everyone stand up, stretch for a second and then go out of your way to greet someone. We have a lot of new people in the house today. Go out of your way to make them feel welcome. If you're tuning in online, thank you so much, Pando Edovo. We're glad you're here. Thank you for joining. [music] - Shout out to all those that are watching through their screens. God bless you, whether you are on YouTube or Facebook or Pando, whatever it may be, God bless you. Thank you for being a part of our Sunday service. (upbeat music) Hey man, good morning everyone. How's everyone doing? Bless, get to see everyone here. You guys look good, you guys looking sharp. (upbeat music) Did you say always Tina? All right. All right, hey man. So I have a couple things I wanna talk about,
but before that, you know, tomorrow's Sharon's birthday. (audience cheering) I don't know what else to give her 'cause she has me. What else does she need? (audience laughing) So I thought of putting a bow on my head, but I wanted us to sing to her. Not me, you don't want that. So if one of you ladies can start the happy birthday song, come up here, Sharon. - I want you to sing, really? - You don't want me to sing. - Are you ready? All right. It's not gonna happen. I'll sing with everybody else. If somebody started off. Alright. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Sharon. Happy birthday to you. I asked her, I said, "What do you want to do tomorrow?" She goes, "I want to stay home." Now that's a cheap date. Hey man, I'm happy birthday. Alright. Before we do tithing offering, there's a couple of ladies that they've been evangelizing and I wanted to call them up so they can share their heart. Where are you at? There you are. Come on up. Come on down. She turns around, is she with me? Thank you. What do you want us to share? Well, we go out and evangelize on Friday nights. If you guys would like to come and join us, we have a good time. We worship for people that need prayer. We invite them to church. We just share a little bit about what we have found God has done for us. We share our testimonies and it's been amazing. It's been amazing. So if you'd like to come and join us, we're going to go out Friday night at six o'clock. Come and meet me after church and I'll get your phone number and we'll, my name is Cherie and this is on Chris. Yes. Thank you. Well, we've been doing, been going down to Brennan theaters lately, but we are open to suggestions if you think there's another spot that might be.
What's up? Yes. Thank you to you guys. We say yes. All right. See what happens if you evangelize. Congratulations. You know what's funny is that she looked back to see like, man, he's going to miss me being up here talking. Not realizing he was back here. Amen. Anything happens at House of Rest. Some of the single ladies, can I give an announcement next week? Yeah. But all seriousness, they do go out on Friday nights and evangelize. They go and share the gospel and it's more of a one-on-one and talking to people. It goes beyond just waving a flag or whatever. They actually want to engage with people and talk to people. So if you want to take them up on that invite, just talk to Shari after service or any time you see her. Okay, so we have some, as we know, we do the six discipleship classes and after the six classes, we like to give people certificates for those classes. If we can have our pastors come up because we want to congratulate all of those who are going to have certificates. It's not only that, but they get a lapel pen, like this really cool one that I'm wearing, and it's just a thank you for going through the six discipleship classes. So we ask you, we call you up, come up here, get your certificate. And everyone, especially those of you that have your pen already, they're going to walk down, let's all stand up, let's give them a high five when they walk through. And then come back up with your pen and stand here. All right, are we ready? Okay. All right. So number one, we have Rebecca. Sister Rebecca, where are you at? Where is she at? She's in the classroom? She's coming.
All right. Everybody pause and freeze. Here she comes. No, not yet. Luis Sandoval Jr. Lisa Martinez. Come on. Angelica Espinosa. Here your name, come up, those that did it through the online school, Victor Torres. Andrew Torres. Julini Torres. All right. Now, this is very special because we've been doing this on panda also. So there's people that are incarcerated who have gone through the six classes. They sent their answers in. They are part of this church. They are watching. I want you to know each and every one of you guys that are watching and doing these classes. This is for you. Number one is Derek Kahn. The second one is Chad Lavalie. And the third one, we're asking Jennifer Stone to pick it up for him is Jimmy Trejo. Okay. She's picking it up on behalf of brother Jimmy Trejo. I can't. All right. Let's give them a shout out, a clap, whatever it is. Congratulations. So when you become a part of this church, you go through the six discipleship classes, you get your certificate, you get your pin, and we're excited. So if this is something you're interested in, we're starting class one today at 1230 after service.
The two from panda. (upbeat music) All right. Well, congratulations, guys. Thank you so much and God bless you. (upbeat music) Amen. All right. So as you guys know, we support missions here. We're a great international church. We have almost 6,000 churches around the world. And the three that we choose to support is Pastor George in India, Pastor Thomas in Nigeria, and Pastor Moses in Uganda. How do we support them with $3? That's it. Every single week, $3, whatever is on your envelope, make sure you always allocate $3 that gets put beside in every quarter. We send it to them. Every single penny goes to them. And it's a huge, huge blessing to be able to bless a ministry that is doing amazing things around the world. Also, the offering and the tithing. Again, we wanna thank you so much because again, once again, praise God, we're just changing the direction of house of rest church. And it's because of each and every one of you, because we all do our part so we can continue to be a beacon of light in the city of Modesto, California.
Not only that, I believe that a lot of us believe we're being a beacon of light in the city, but I believe we're being a beacon of light in this nation. And we will be an influence because we are a church that just loves God, serves the Lord, loves Jesus, worships Jesus. We continue to exalt His name, amen. So I know that you guys have envelopes. If you need an envelope, you can get one from them. If you have one, they can get it from you and drop it in the box, you can drop it in the box yourself. Also, there are QR codes in back of the seat. For those of you that are more electronically, like you don't carry cash and you want to be a blessing to house of rest, the QR codes are there. So let's bow our heads and just pray, Lord God, we thank you so much for this opportunity. Lord God is a form of worship, Lord God, that we trust you. So that when we give Lord God, we don't give out of what we have left, we give out of our abundance, Lord God, because we know Lord God that you are doing something special here. I pray for every single dollar, every single penny that it be multiplied and used for your kingdom, Lord God, that we be a place of discipleship, a house of prayer, a place for our children and our youth and our young adults, a place, Lord God, where we can be a light to the community in this city, Lord. It reminds us to bring our Bibles, but hopefully we not only bring them, but we read them. Let's follow after me. This is my Bible. It is God's Word to me. My guide and my strength. I bring it ready to learn. I open it with faith in Jesus. I live it with courage. Without it, I grow weak. With it, I grow strong. Today, I bring it, believe it, and obey it in Jesus name. Amen. You know, we've been doing this four part series and today's the final part and it's titled Who Are You Identity in Christ. I wrote a book on this a few years ago and if you have really, if it's stirred something in you, these last three messages and then today the fourth, you can always, the book, there's no way I could talk everything in the book. But it's on paperback, a e-book, and audible, if that's something you're interested in. But these series derives from the book that I wrote and I'm currently working on a workbook for it actually that's going to be ready in about a month or so and it's a workbook that lets you write in it and all that stuff. And yeah, amen. My hope is that that workbook will teach you in a way where you can teach others because that's important for the church to know who they are.
You know, this morning Brother Thomas sent me a text that had nothing to do with it but it actually fits today's message and I want to read it. Now, I want to say this is that this text is about it's called prison rules don't work in the free world but if you've never been a prison, I want you to understand in identity a lot of times in the world where taught one thing and in the church it's something else. So even though this is written to those that come out of prison, many of us in Christ came out of the prison of sin. And this world teaches us who we are but it goes against who God says we are. And I'm just going to go ahead and read it. I think it's important, I think it'll tie in maybe in the end you'll see. But it says this and if you've never been a prison, you were in the prison of the world anyway so it pertains to you. It says one of the cruelest parts of prison is that it teaches people rules they need to survive inside but those same rules destroy them when they come home. Because inside you learn not to ask too many questions but outside people say you're distant. When you're inside you learn not to trust too easily but once you're outside people call you paranoid. Inside you learn to watch your surroundings guard your belongings keep your back off the door and outside people call you strange. Inside you learn that showing too much emotion can make you a target. Outside people say you're cold. Inside you learn to react quickly when you feel disrespected and outside one reaction can cost you a job a relationship a home or send you right back to prison. Inside you learn that people may test you. Outside not every disagreement is a test but your body may still respond like it is. And this is a trap that nobody talks about. Prison can force people to develop survival habits and then society punishes them for carrying those habits into freedom. People want a returning citizen to be grateful and gentle and trusting and calm and productive and emotionally available and perfectly adjusted on day one. They want you to be perfect the moment you come to church but they ignore the fact that this person may have spent years learning the exact opposite. Years learning that safety comes from control. Years learning that vulnerability can have consequences. Years learning that privacy is rare. Years learning that weakness gets noticed and then the gate opens and everyone expects a smooth transition with no counseling, no real support, no patience, no understanding, just don't mess up. Be a perfect Christian.
That is not rehabilitation. That is setting somebody up to fail. Then acting shocked when the damage happens. And before anyone twists this post he wrote, this is a text he sent me, prison survival behavior does not excuse abuse, manipulation, violence or mistreating people who care about you. It doesn't mean like, oh man, I was rough on the street so now I'm in the church so I have an excuse to do it. If you want people to succeed after prison, we have to understand the rules. They learn to survive inside, maybe the very rules. They have to unlearn now in the free world. You cannot train a person for captivity, release them into chaos and then blame them for not knowing how to breathe. Do you think society expects returning citizens to adjust without understanding what prison trained them to become? I think it's fitting because as we're closing about who are you identity in Christ. Many of us, the way we were raised, the things that were done around us or some of us, some of the things that were done to you, have shaped who you are. But that is not who God intended for you to be. And because of the situation, because of your surrounding, because everything the enemy does, you know, the enemy wants to destroy you as a child. Because if he could destroy you as a child, you will grow up a broken adult. And you will go forever in this life, not knowing who you were truly meant to be. And you end up believing the lie. And I think that was so fitting because as we come into this, this fourth part of the sermon series, who are you identity in Christ. We talked about the fall, the finished work, the spiritual warfare last week. But today, we're going to talk about the kingdom of God. I know I did a quick overview of part one and two. And I'm going to do it all over again because I want this to stick. When we did part one, the fog, we learned that God created mankind in his image, giving Adam and Eve their identity, their purpose, their authority and dominion over the earth.
They were created to live in relationship with God, but the serpent deceived them into disobeying his command. So through the fall, sin entered the world. We became infected. And the identity that God had given mankind got traded for shame and guilt and condemnation and fear. And because of that sin brought death and slavery to sin and separated us from God, destroying mankind's right standing with God. We were separated because of the fall. And in part two, we learned what Jesus did on the cross. We learned that he came as a promised king and Messiah, but he was rejected by the very people he came to save. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and undo what Satan accomplished through Adam's fall. And at the cross, Jesus declared it is finished. So Jesus came and conquered sin, broke its power and freed mankind from slavery to sin. And because of his death and resurrection, Jesus defeated death and reclaimed that authority and he gave that authority back to the church. Jesus paid the price for salvation, for healing and deliverance because of his suffering, because of his blood and the finished work of the cross. So Jesus succeeding. Where the first Adam failed, Jesus came as a second Adam. Because of Adam's disobedience. He fell into sin and death, but because of Jesus obedience, he brought life. Which brings us to part three, where we last last week, is that we learned that there is a supernatural realm organized in ranks and authorities and spiritual beings. We know that God reigns supreme over everything, but that there's a physical world we see and there's a spiritual world we don't see.
We learn that Satan's rebellion was the ultimate betrayal against God. Because pride and the desire to exalt himself led us to the fall and to rebellion and opposition. We learned that this rebellion against God has continued in humanity ever since the fall. And the events surrounding it and the sons of God and the Nephilim and the corruption of all the nations around the world. But we also learned that those who belong in Christ now because of what the finished work did, regardless of what Adam and any of them, because of the finished work, we can now belong to Christ. We can now change our citizenship and we can now take on our true identity and our true citizenship because we're new creations. We belong to Christ and we're spiritually seated in high places against the kingdom of darkness. We also learned that through Christ's victory, Satan was defeated in heaven and cast out, but now he's here on the earth. And the final thing last week we learned that church where we are at war. But our battle is not against flesh and blood, but we stand in the strength of the Lord. We put on the whole armor of God, we recognize the enemy schemes and fight the spiritual battle with truth and righteousness and faith and salvation and God's word and prayer. open your Bibles to 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 16. 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 16. 2 Corinthians 5, 16. Let me know when you have it. Let me know when you don't yet. All right, 2 Corinthians 5, 16, 21, says this. Is the Apostle Paul writing this to the church in Corinth? And he says, "From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh.
Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer." 17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come." All of this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. See, the separation that happened at the fall, Jesus came so we can now reconcile that relationship with God. 19, "That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world, us, to himself, not counting their trespasses against them." This is good news. This means that we now can have a relationship with Jesus and he doesn't use the sins of our past against us, and this is the part I want to get to, or it says, "Let me finish it, the world not counting the trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation." So not only does he reconcile us to himself, regardless of the things we did in the past, but he tells us to share this message with the world. In other words, say the good news to the world, verse 20, and this is the part that I really want to zero in on. So because of all of these things we read, that's why it says the word "therefore." When you see the word "therefore," it means everything I said in the past, "therefore," and then he goes on into saying what he's next. So because of those things, this is "therefore," we say we. So this is you, you're not French, we, we. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ. If you are a Christian, I want you to say that with me, therefore we are ambassadors for Christ. I'm going to continue reading, God making his appeal through us, we implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake, he made him to be no sin, who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
So in other words, there's nothing you or I or anything can do to come into the presence of God to reconcile, but because Jesus lives in us, we are now righteous. You know, righteous means it means to be in right standing with God. I'm in right standing, not because of the way I preach, the way I look or anything else. I'm in right standing with God because I have Jesus in me. And because of that, we cannot, we cannot be barred from heaven when the moment we stand in the, in the pearly gates, we are going to be given entrance, not because of the good things you did, but because of Jesus, because of him we're in right standing. So we're talking about the kingdom of God. So what is the kingdom of God? And that's what I really want to kind of talk about is that we have to learn to separate and understand, because a lot of us, we have a, we never thought about it. What is the kingdom of God? What does that mean? What is it? What's the definition of it? See, many places of worship or churches get this part wrong. And if you get this part wrong, if I tell you to go to Los Angeles right now, get on 99 and go north. Are you going to get to L.A.? No. You're going to end up in Oregon. So here's the thing, if we get this strong, everything we build on top of it, our thing So places of worship get this wrong, and this causes a lot of spiritual damage. So I want us to have clarity and understanding that many places of worship are church-centered, not kingdom-centered. There's a difference. See, we don't know that or don't think about it.
We're like, well, the kingdom of God, so what does that have to do with the church? So what happens is many of us, whether we think about it or unintentionally think about it, we think the kingdom of God is this church. So ends up happening is we start competing with the Joneses and want the best church and the best this and the best sound and the best, because we become a church-centered place instead of kingdom-centered. And I'm gonna break that down so we have a deep understanding. So we're not gonna have that excuse. We're gonna understand the difference because the church, as important as it is, has its place in the life of a believer. Whether it's here or your living room, whatever it is that where you go, but it needs to be put in the right order of priority. We have to understand that. It's kingdom first, church second. Kingdom first, church second. I'm gonna explain that because the church is important. We can't discount the church because Jesus says, "On this rock, I will build my church." Just as Jesus talking, so we cannot discount it, but it has to be put in its right place. So we have to understand that it's kingdom first, church second, and church does not exist without the kingdom. If a church is not connected to kingdom, it's a social club.
So if you're coming to a place because this is where your friends are, it's just a social club for you. That's all it is. Go and join the elks club or something. I don't know. Go get a membership at a gym. That's a club. The church has to be connected to the kingdom or else it's not a church. You know, this verse 20, it says, "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ." So it's like, what does that have to do because that word ambassador is a very, I don't know if it's a legal term or a political term. Diplomatic term, yeah, thank you. But I have a definition here and we're gonna tie these things together. So we understand there's the kingdom of God, then there's the church. The church can be separate from the kingdom of God. If it's separate, then it's not a church. But the Bible says here that we're ambassadors. So I better learn what an ambassador is. An ambassador is an official envoy. So when you just said you were an ambassador, that's an official title, a diplomatic title. And as an ambassador, you are a diplomatic agent of the highest rank. See that?
And you thought you were just this or just the housewife or whatever. You are a diplomat. That's heavy. In the highest rank to a foreign government as a representative of his or her government. So what this is saying is that if the Bible says that we are ambassadors, it means we represent a kingdom. A foreign kingdom. An ambassador doesn't live in his or her nation. They live in a foreign nation, but they're there to represent their nation. Think about that. The Bible says that we are ambassadors. We are diplomatic agents to represent a other foreign government than the one you were in and check this out. Because all of you that are Christian said that we are ambassadors, well, you have been appointed for a special assignment. If you are a Christian, if you serve Jesus, you are an ambassador, an official diplomat, and you have been given a special assignment. You have been authorized as a representative or a messenger. Wow. See, people fight for titles like Pastor and Apostle. And man, this is a better title. You're an ambassador.
You wanna chase after titles? Chase after that title. Because an ambassador does nothing else, but represent the kingdom that he comes from. Now, tell me, if a king or a president sent you as an ambassador to represent the entire nation to this nation, does that mean you could just do things loosely? So however you represent Christ as an ambassador sheds a light to people on Jesus and on his kingdom. So we have to take that. That is something serious. Now, something I know about ambassadors is, I think it's interesting is that they have this thing called diplomatic immunity. Diplomatic immunity means the ambassador or the diplomat can perform their official duties. Remember, they've been given assignment. So let's say you're a United States ambassador and they place you in France. So you are there to represent United States and you are there with a special assignment and you have diplomatic immunity, meaning the laws of France don't affect you because you are not French, you're American. So everywhere you go, you can perform your official duties and your assignment that you were given without fear of criminal or civil suit. There is nothing France can do to you because you are not French, you are American and you are an ambassador.
So you're representing that nation in this foreign nation. Think about that. And the Bible says that you are an ambassador. I hope lights are starting to turn on. You're like, "Oh, this is awesome." Now, here's what's crazy, right? Is that we learned last week that Satan, before the finished work, Satan had access into heaven. How do we know that? We read the book of Job and God asked him, "Hey, Satan, where have you been?" He says, "Oh, walking to and fro on the earth." See, an ambassador can go back and forth, back and forth. If you're an ambassador of the United States, I can go to France, I can do my business, I can come back to the United States, meet with the president and then go back and forth, back and forth, all access. And it seems like ever since the fall and the finished work, Satan had access as an ambassador of his kingdom, the kingdom of darkness. So in the same way. And you think, "That ain't first." Man, why does Satan have access into heaven? And here's the thing, he can be as evil, as wicked as he wants to be, because he's like, "Hey, yeah, I'm here in your throne room, God, but you know what?
Your laws don't apply to me because I'm an embassy of my kingdom of darkness." I think the angels hated him. How do I know that? Because they celebrated the moment he was kicked out. They're like, "Man, finally that clown is out of here, that accuser is out of here." Because he had diplomatic immunity. He could go back and forth from his kingdom of darkness into this kingdom and the laws of heaven didn't apply to him because he was not a citizen of that, he was a citizen of that place. But the moment Jesus says, "It's finished." It's as if he took Satan's passport and ripped it to shreds and says, "You're out of here. You have no more access into my throne room. You have no access at all whatsoever, this whole traveling back and forth." And here's what's crazy, right? So think about it, that's why the Bible says we read in Revelation that after the war in heaven, Satan and his angels were thrown down into the earth, no longer could come into heaven. And the angel said, "Man, whoa are those on the earth because Satan has come down to them knowing he has great wrath." So Satan's kicked out and now he's locked in this earth in the very place that he hates because he hates us. He hates the fact that we were made from dirt and God still loves us. And can you imagine?
So now not only does he hate humanity, he loaves humanity. Now he's locked on this earth with us. (audience laughing) And then to make it worse, the Lord says, "Oh, that passport's ripped up." And then he looks at those that believe in him. And he says, "Now I give you passports and the gates of hell will not prevail against the church." In the same way, Satan had access into the kingdom back and forth. Now the Bible says we are ambassadors and we can go into the places of hell and nothing can stop us. So everything Satan had has been given to us. Now we have access. The Bible says that we can go and throw the throne And then the Bible says that we can go into the very depths of hell, to the crack houses, the prisons, the jails, the 9th street, wherever it is, and nothing can affect us because the laws of the kingdom of darkness don't apply to you because you are ambassador of another kingdom. So now I can go into this world freely, and Satan hates it. The verse that I quoted, Matthew 16, 18 says, "I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." That's Matthew 16, 18, yeah, just write it down because I already read it. But so this is why this is so important. This is why I had to be broken out of it
to four pieces for the sermon series because we need to get this understanding. So so far, we see that there's a kingdom of heaven. We see that there's the church. The church is not the kingdom, but the church is part of the kingdom. The kingdom of heaven can exist without the church. The church can't exist without the kingdom. And then we also learn that we're ambassadors, and in ambassador, we have immunity. So we are here in a foreign place. That's why Jesus says that we are not of this world. So the moment you give life to the Lord, you've now become a citizen of heaven. And Jesus says, "Listen, now that you gave your life to the Lord, I'm going to give you a message, and I need you to go back into that filthy, dark place called the world, and I need to share with them about me. And I will give you diplomatic immunity because you don't belong to that place, but now you're an ambassador of mine. So you represent me in my kingdom, and you come into the kingdom of darkness, and you represent me to the best of your ability and tell people about me." Makes sense, right? I have a few verses again. Write these down, 'cause I'm like five verses. Matthew 4, 17. So now, listen what Jesus says about the kingdom of God.
And Matthew 4, 17, it says, "From that time, Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." So Jesus shows up on the scene, and he starts preaching about the kingdom of God, the kingdom of God, the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God. So it says, "He began to preach, saying, 'Repent, 'What does repent mean to do a 180 to turn away?'" For the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 12, 28 says this, "But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." So even Jesus said that, he says, "If I cast out demons, it's because the kingdom has touched upon you." In John 1836, Jesus answered, and look what Jesus says in John 1836, he says, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews, but my kingdom is not from this world." So out of the mouth of Jesus, he is letting us know about his kingdom. Now, you gotta keep this in mind because it says that we are ambassadors. An ambassador is a diplomat from another kingdom. And Jesus says, "My kingdom is not of this world." So those of you that are in Christ, you are an ambassador of Christ,
you are in a foreign place, this kingdom of darkness, 'cause the Bible says that this earth, that saying is the God of this world, but don't get afraid of that, Christian. Don't get afraid of that, because saying could be the God of this world, because it's all right, because we're ambassadors, and I don't belong to this world. I'm a citizen of that place here to be an ambassador in this place, so the laws of your filthy world don't apply to you and I. And Jesus himself said, "My kingdom is not of this world." Luke chapter nine, verse one and two. Luke nine, one and two says, "He called the 12 together." So he gets his disciples and he calls them together, huddles them up, and look what he says. And Jesus gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, huh? So he gathers the 12 and he says, "I give you power and authority over demons." there is no power over demons. So we can't be carnal Christians because if you're a carnal Christian, you have no power. But if you belong to the kingdom of God and the rules and laws of this land don't apply to you, then you are an ambassador and because of that, Jesus huddles them together and he says, "I give you authority over all demons." It doesn't say some demons, it doesn't say the weak demons, it doesn't say the little demons,
it says over all demons and to cure diseases. And then verse two and he sent them out to what? Proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. Because the laws of this world don't apply to us because we are ambassadors of another kingdom. See, all of this part one, part two, all of this is coming to fruition on what this means for us because I couldn't preach this without explaining one or two or three. We have to get a deeper understanding. And I'm praying that lights are just like, boom, boom, boom, turning on in your head because this is amazing what this reveals to us. In Matthew 10, five through eight, Matthew 10, five through eight says, "These 12, the apostles, Jesus sent out." Matthew 10, five, eight and he instructed them. So he sends the 12 out and he says, "Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the law sheep of the house of Israel and proclaim as you go saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand." So you would think, what does that mean? Does that mean going to the west side to say, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." The kingdom of heaven is at like, what does that mean? What does Jesus mean? He says it in the next verse, what that means? What does it mean to proclaim the kingdom of heaven?
When he says is at hand, meaning what he's saying is that the kingdom of heaven is here. See, a lot of Christians too say, "I can't wait to die so I can see the kingdom of heaven." Jesus says, "What are you talking about? The kingdom of heaven is within you." I don't got to wait for the kingdom. I got it now, you have it now. How do we know that? Well, let's see what he says. Jesus says, "Go and proclaim the kingdom of heaven is at hand." What does that mean? Verse eight, "He will the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons you receive without pain and give without pay." So that's how you proclaim the kingdom. Heal the sick because we learned in number two that the finished work of the cross and the finish and the whipping post was that Jesus wants us to not only get people saved, but to proclaim healing and cast demons out. See, we wanna be Christians that follow the full gospel. What did Jesus do on his earth? Preach the gospel, lay the hands on the sick and cast out devils. He didn't only cast out devils and start a deliverance ministry. No, he didn't do that. He didn't say, "You know what, I'm not gonna preach
"and I get cast devils and I'm just gonna heal people." He didn't start a healing ministry. Jesus preached a full gospel. He proclaimed the gospel and the kingdom, laid hands on the sick and cast out devils. I'm gonna read eight again. Well, seven and eight, Matthew 10. He says, "And proclaim as you go, "saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand, "heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, "cast out demons you receive without pain, "give without pay." And the book of Acts, chapter one, verse three. These are all these verses. God is mentioning the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God. He's mentioning this place that he says, "My kingdom is not of this world." And in Acts, chapter one, verse three, it says, "After he died and resurrected, "that he presented himself alive to them." So now Jesus resurrects. He presents himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during 40 days. So after Jesus resurrected, he continued to preach as a resurrected Christ for 40 days. Look what it says and speaking about the kingdom of God. for the next 40 days, I'm going to preach about the kingdom of God. I'm going to preach about the kingdom of God." Oh, today's message, the kingdom of God. And then tomorrow, he's like,
"I'm going to preach about the kingdom of God." For 40 days, he says, "I need to get this into the church because Satan wants the church to forget what the kingdom of God is or get it mixed up or get it twisted up." Or matter of fact, Satan says, "I'll have people following church instead of kingdom." If Jesus had only 40 days after his resurrection, would you say that his messages were really super important? If you had 40 days, if I say you got 40 days to live, there's stuff you would no longer do and there's stuff you would be doing. If you knew you had 40 days left. So obviously, if Jesus had 40 days after his resurrected, whatever it is that he preached about had to have weight to it. It must have been important. You know what's crazy is the fact that Jesus used those 40 days to preach about the kingdom of God and why is the kingdom not preached about now? It's something we got to think about. So we know that he is not of this world. We know that we're ambassadors and he sends us out. But this is awesome and Colossians 1-13, I want you to go there because I want you to read this for yourself and not just hear it from me. In Colossians chapter 1 verse 13, Colossians chapter 1 verse 13. Amen. Look what this says about you and I, if you are in Christ. I hear a couple pages still. This is important. I want you guys to see this. Colossians chapter 1 verse 13 says this. It says, "He has delivered us." Who's he? Jesus. And look what he's done. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the what? To the kingdom of his beloved son. So Jesus preached about the kingdom while he was living. He preached about the kingdom after the resurrection. We see in Corinthians that we are called ambassadors that we belong to a different place, not this place that we're at. We see Jesus saying that his kingdom is not of this world. And now we read it in Scripture that he took us out of the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved son. So all of us are transplants. All of us belong. Our citizenship belong to another place. But because of Christ, he took us out. And this is the part where he makes you an ambassador. He takes you out of the kingdom of darkness, out of the domain of darkness. And he transferred us into his kingdom. He's like, okay, I'm tracking with you, David. So, okay, so there's a kingdom of God. And I see the importance of Jesus clearly preach and preach and preach about the kingdom because he mentioned the church once. But he mentioned the kingdom over and over and over and over. So now we see it. Okay, so there's kingdom, then there's church. And we're ambassadors. And we're
from a different place. We don't belong here. And the rules of this world don't apply to us because we're ambassadors. So we have immunity from this place because we're from a different place. So, so where are we going with this? What does this have to do with my identity? Well, now that we know Jesus constantly spoke about the kingdom of God. And we're learning that we're ambassadors of that kingdom. Where does the church fit in? Okay, I hear you, David, that makes sense. The kingdom and the church are separate. So where does the church fit in? Because clearly the church is important because Jesus says on this rock, I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. So, I mean, I'm pretty sure you guys know this, but in case you know this building isn't the church, we're the church. I know some people going around saying, no, I'm the church. No, you are not the church. And the church means an assembly of people. We are the church. You are not individually the church. We are the church. But Jesus says on this rock, I will build my church. I will build my assembly of people. Okay. So what does the church fit in? Now, there's nothing wrong with saying this is our church building. This is the place. This is the place that contains us, or if you meet in your living room, or a house church, or a garage, or a park, wherever it is that you're together, that there's nothing wrong with saying, "Yeah, this is the house of God, or this is the church house." Nothing wrong with that. Because it houses the church. So, we need to understand that. But if we're ambassadors, where do ambassadors reside in another nation? Embassy. There's an embassy. We actually have embassies all around this world
as the United States, and they have embassies here. So, if you're visiting from Spain, and you're in New York, and you lost your passport, they'll tell you, go to your embassy, and they will have to find the embassy for Spain, because there's somebody there that represents them, and it will help them get back home. So, what's the church? The embassy. If we're ambassadors, then we are gathered together right now, in the embassy. Remember something. That's why you hear me say, in the name of Jesus, you hear me say in the beginning, in the name of Jesus, anything that is not of God, I commanded to leave, I declare this holy ground. Because this right now, because we are gathered here today, nothing special about this building, what special is the people in it. But while we're here, we are ambassadors, so we declare this holy ground, because this is our embassy. And you know what? The laws of this wicked world don't apply in this place. Because out in the world, there's no healing. Out in the world, there's no deliverance. Out in the world, there's no change, there's no repentance. But here in the embassy, as we are all gathered together, the kingdom is possible,
because we represent the kingdom. So we're ambassadors. And embassy is within that foreign nation. But the grounds are not a part of the land that it sits on. It represents the nation or the kingdom to which it belongs. Now, understand though, the embassy cannot function without the kingdom. For instance, we have an embassy in France now. Let's say, keep picking on France, I don't know why, but we have an embassy. Imagine the ambassador right now of the United States that as an ambassador for the United States, he's in France and decides today to wake up and say, you know what, forget United States. I'm gonna declare this my own nation. Well, the moment that happens, he loses all power. What's he gonna do? He has no army, he has no nothing. He's just an ambassador. And if you're not connected to the kingdom, then you're nothing. There's no power, there's no nothing. The embassy can't function without the kingdom it belongs to. But our church is an embassy. Your prayer group is an embassy. Your house church is an embassy. It's holy ground. So we need to stay connected to the kingdom. When we gather together, we're all ambassadors. So we're coming together and we're gathering together.
But as long as we stay connected to the kingdom, we have full authority and full backing up from the kingdom. Because I'll tell you what, if all of a sudden, France decided they wanna go barge in the doors of the embassy, you know what's gonna happen? They will feel the force of the entire United States of America. [BLANK_AUDIO] So even though our embassy in France could be easily outnumbered with the few policemen, they won't do it. You know why they won't do it? Because they know the entire United States will back up that embassy. And I want you to understand as an ambassador, as we gather together, do you understand the wrecking ball we are against the kingdom of darkness? Because you know what Satan knows that he comes against us. He's not only coming against you and I, he's coming against the kingdom that we represent. And the king of that kingdom will not have it. That kingdom, the king that sits on the throne will not have it. Because those are my people. And if you do something to them, you will feel the force of my power. That's good news. That means you're backed up, but we need to know the church's proper place. The kingdom is over the church. And the church cannot operate outside of the kingdom. But here's a reality, a few years ago in Benghazi. You know, they ran in there and the ambassador of the United States, they murdered him and they paraded him through the city and the people rejoiced. This really happened and there's been many embassies that have been run over, burnt down, attacked and many times it causes war. And I want you to understand that as Christians,
there are many places of worship that are burned and torn down and destroyed. There are many ambassadors that are killed and dragged through the streets. This is a reality, this happens. We can't get away from it. How many times have we heard 85% of Christians around the world that are being murdered are right there in Nigeria. They wait for them to have Sunday service and they wait outside with machine guns as all the families leave and they start to kill and decapitate all the people. Those are ambassadors, that's an embassy. And the embassy gets attacked and burnt down. See, if we become a church-centered faith, it will destroy your faith when something happens to the church. But we need to be kingdom-centered because I'll tell you what, when they attacked the embassy in Benghazi and they paraded the ambassador through there, it didn't make United States budge. United States did not get any weaker. It didn't cause United States to collapse. In the same way, while we're here on foreign land, while we're here in the kingdom of darkness and we're operating as ambassadors, and we are here in the embassy and sometimes the same is going to try to attack us. And many times he does, he will destroy churches, it will destroy people, it will parade you and it will parade your children, your grandchildren. And so the whole world hates you and all those things. But I'm telling you right now, the kingdom of heaven is not shaken. The kingdom of heaven does not fall. The kingdom of heaven does not fail. It stands and it's in power. He never changes. God doesn't shake, God doesn't get scared.
He doesn't get afraid. He doesn't tremble and bite his nails. So we need to understand we can't be church-centered. We gotta be kingdom-centered because even whatever happens to us here in this world, no matter what, the kingdom of God cannot be destroyed, attacked or shaken. And I don't know about you, but I find confidence in that. That you know me, I'm made from flesh and anything could hurt me. I could walk out right now and a car hit me. Same thing with you, it's anything could happen. But you know what, it doesn't change the fact of who he is. It doesn't change the fact of his power. Matter of fact, in Hebrews 12, 28, it says, "Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken." Hebrews 12, 28. See, I'm not much of a sports guy. Sorry to you, sports guy, it just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I have my teams because I grew up with those teams, you know, but I don't watch it, you know why I don't watch it? Because no matter who wins the Super Bowl, next year they gotta start all over again. No matter who wins the World Series, they gotta start all over again. Whoever won the fight yesterday, that person's eventually gonna get beat up by somebody. It doesn't end, it's never ending, so it makes no sense to me. But this makes sense to me because it says that we are grateful because we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We belong to a kingdom that cannot lose. We belong to a kingdom that doesn't have to prove itself over and over and over and over. He stands and he reigns and he reigns supreme and nothing will make his kingdom fall. This is exciting. So let's summarize what we learn. So we learn that Jesus constantly spoke about the kingdom of God.
We learn that Jesus said that his kingdom is not of this world. We learn that Jesus gave the disciples power and authority over demons and to cure diseases. And we see that Jesus sent those disciples to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. So I want you to anchor this in your heart that if you are in Christ, you are you have into the kingdom of light. Satan don't want you to know that, and if you know it, he don't want you to really believe it. He wants you to believe that you're this Christian trying to live in this God-forsaken world, and you're at the every whim that Satan wants. If he wants you to do dope one more time, if he wants you to get drunk one more time, if he wants you to do this one more time, that you're just at the whims of Satan, and he will have you believe. If you don't care if you go to church, you don't care if you die, you don't care if you do any of those things, as long as you don't understand that you have been ripped out of the kingdom of darkness and placed into the kingdom of light, and now you are now an ambassador, and now I can go over there because I overpower those things because those things don't apply to me, or apply to you. Anchor that in your heart. In Matthew chapter six, verse nine, we see the Lord's Prayer. Many of you memorize it, especially if you came out of Catholicism. It's the Lord's Prayer.
Many of us know it by memory, but you don't really listen to it because you don't realize the power in that prayer. But I'm gonna show you something right now. In Matthew chapter six, verse nine, starting at verse nine. I'm gonna read nine through 12. Ready? They ask Jesus, how do you pray? In at six, nine, Jesus says pray then like this, our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And you're like, okay, that's cool, David. Why'd you have us read that for? Where's the power in that? I okay, I hear this power 'cause it's the prayer, Jesus. I get, no, no, no, no, no, listen. Look what this says, let me first listen. We just learned the kingdom, the church, ambassador, embassy, not of this world, citizens of that world. We don't belong to this world. Now listen to the prayer Jesus said in verse 10. He's saying this, I want you to pray that Lord, your kingdom, that's not of this world, that your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
That is powerful, let me break that down. You see, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. So let me ask this, so what you're praying is for the kingdom to be manifested on the world. So let me ask you this, is there sickness in heaven? Is there cancer in heaven? Is there demon-possessed people in heaven? So listen to that prayer. We are here on earth as ambassadors, surrounded by darkness, and we are saying, Lord, your kingdom come. Because this kingdom is wack, but Lord, your kingdom come, let your will be done, let it be done on earth as it is in heaven. Somebody comes in there, their spine is misaligned. Say pray for me, pastor, pray for me, sister, whoever you are, and you're just like, man, how do I pray for this, I don't have the words. What are you talking about? First of all, I didn't know about your words. It's about the very fact. Lord, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus, because I don't operate from this place of darkness, I'm here as an ambassador from a different place, and because of that, he gives me authority to lay hands on the sick and cast out devils. So I command this spy to line up in the name of Jesus
on earth as it is in heaven, because there's no sickness in heaven, so I declare that healing here and now. We as an ambassadors, we represent another kingdom, rather than the worldly kingdom and of darkness in the kingdom we come from, there is no sickness, there is no demonic possession. So we have the authority to speak to those things. What did Jesus say? He says, I give you authority to lay hands on the sick and cast out devils. heaven. As ambassadors, remember what I said an ambassador is, it says somebody that's been given a special assignment. You have been given an assignment from the kingdom that you belong to. He didn't see nobody, nobody's going to send an ambassador somewhere so they could just go sit around doing nothing. There's work to be done. If you are an ambassador, there's work to be done. And guess what? If you're a Christian, there's work to be done. As an ambassador, we must manifest His kingdom to this world. What does the word manifest means? To show it, to let it come forth. When a woman is pregnant, you can't see the baby. Nine months later, that baby is manifested. You now get to see what was inside. So we are called to manifest His kingdom here on earth to show it. Precious gospel, lay hands on the sick, cast out devils. God's will on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus didn't come to fix you. He came to make you new. Amen. This is why it's important to learn about the fall. It's important to learn the finished work of Christ. It's important to know the spiritual warfare that's happening in the things that we can't see. But even more important, it's understanding what the kingdom of God is. And placing the kingdom
and the church and your ambassadorship in its proper place with this proper understanding of what it is that Jesus is saying. No, you know what's crazy is that I can go become a citizen of another country and end up being somebody that just sweeps garbage. Just because I'm a citizen of a beautiful, what's a country that's really rich? What's that do buyer? I don't know if that's a, no, that's a city. Let Singapore very rich. So if I go over there and say I want to be, I want to be rich. So I'm going to go become a citizen of Singapore. That doesn't mean I'm going to be rich. I'm probably going to be cleaning up after the rich people. But here's a thing. When Jesus says I take you out of the kingdom of darkness and I plant you into my kingdom. He automatically gives you a diplomatic title. You are important, my friend. I don't care what you came out of. I don't care who abused you. I don't care what you've been addicted to. I don't care what whatever it is that was in your past, whoever broke you, whatever happened to you. You are somebody important in his kingdom to the point where he gave you the title of an ambassador. He is called you to represent his kingdom. That is an important title to represent it to uphold. Do you understand that? You are important. I don't care what your family thinks of you. I don't care what this government thinks of you, what the courts think of you, what your neighbors think of you, what your friends think of you. It doesn't matter what does he think of you. He sees you so important and so crucial to his kingdom that he gave you the title of an ambassador. And he says, I want you to go and represent me. Matter of fact, in Ezekiel 36, 26. He says, I will give you a new heart. You know why I like that? Because
my heart was so wicked. I'm like, Lord, I want to serve you, but I have all these things in my heart. God, I have so much darkness in my heart, things that I don't even admit to people because they're so wicked and so dark. I don't know how to do this. He says, Oh, you know what? I'm not going to fix that heart. I'm gonna take that heart out. And I'm gonna give you a brand new heart. So don't worry about it. You know, I have a 75 gallon aquarium in my house. And I'll be honest with you. When I change the filters, I can't afford to buy new filters all the time. There's like that spongy stuff. So I take them out with the water hose and I just squeeze all the gunk out of it, clean them as best as I can. Then I put it back. I'll do that about three times. Then I'll be like, Okay, I got to go to I got to get a new filter because that thing's all tore up. See, Jesus doesn't do that. He doesn't say, Oh, let me take out your heart. Let me rinse it with my blood a little bit and put it back. He says, man, I will take your heart out. I will give you a new heart and a new spirit. I will put within you and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you. And I will cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. I love that because I'm just like, Lord, all these things in my heart. He says, don't worry about it. I will take that heart out. I will make you a new creation. I do all things brand new, which comes down to this last verse that I want to share with you in Colossians chapter 1, verse 19, Colossians chapter 1, verse 19, Colossians chapter Let me know when you have it Anybody getting something from this? All right amen good amen It says this in Colossians 119 and we're gonna read a few verses after that
This is for in him in Christ All the fullness of God was pleased to dwell and Through him To reconcile to himself all things That's good news, right? Because we were so full of wickedness and sin some of us more than others But he reconciled it he made a way And now he it says he reconciled to himself all things Whether on earth or in heaven So how did he do that? It says it right there making peace by the blood of his cross See that's another thing I grew up in little Pentecostal churches there Oh, they were singing about the blood talking about the blood of Jesus the washing blood of Jesus And we don't talk about that anymore, but we can't take the away from the fact that there is power in his blood His blood is not like our blood his blood is everlasting his blood is powerful demons scream at his blood because it is living his blood is powerful we are washed in his blood and I know that might sound weird and foreign to you, but that's just the way it is That we are we we they we are in peace with God because of the blood of his cross In verse 21 look at this and you talking about us Who once were alienated and Hostile in mind. We were separated from God. We were hostile to God. We were alienated from him We were strangers to God Doing all this stuff that we were doing in the world that we were just completely foreign is like God doesn't want me And some of you feel like that right now you feel like why would God want me? I'm sitting here telling you that he does You wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for this message God is a strategic God And the reason he walks you has you here Maybe it's the first time you've been here But I know that God is a strategic God that he called you because he loves you so much to hear this message
And we were alienated and hostile my mind and our minds doing evil deeds So we were evil You know there's times I've been a court criminal court I can't even plead not guilty because he got me on camera I'm like yeah, I wasn't I can't that wasn't me and The judge like you have the same shirt on the video that you're wearing in court So we stand before God With nothing but the weight of our sins and all the things that we have done and things that were done to us And we're holding all this and just just filth in the stench And the Lord says come to me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest You know what he's saying? He's saying that if when you're weighed down with all these sins and you're laid down with all this shame and guilt and animation and fear all the things that Adam and Eve had and we've been carrying it around to the point where we're hunched back Then shame because of our sin and Jesus has come to me come to me all of you who are tired And I will give you rest. You know what he's saying? He says I will take on your sins upon me I will take each and every one of your sins and I'll nail it to my cross And I'm like why would you do that Because I love you That's it because you love me And look what it says in 22 So not only does he take that from us, but in 22 says he has now reconciled in his body of flesh By his death, you know what that means that he made things right between us by dying on the cross and suffering [BLANK_AUDIO] all of those things suffered on the cross all the things in order to present you holy blameless and above reproach before him let me break that down so so Lord I know I'm filthy I know I don't I deserve hell Lord and he's like yeah you do but I love you too much so I made a way what do you mean you made a way I died for you I suffered for you so now I'm gonna go into heaven with all this
guilt like I don't belong like like I don't deserve this am I gonna is that what eternity is is being in heaven in this place that that I shouldn't even be in and he says no you don't understand I take your sin on my cross and he says I present you holy blameless and above reproach holy means I separated from for God so not only that he declares you set apart for him think about that he sets you apart from everyone else just for him so he says I declare you holy I declare you set apart I'm like okay that sounds cool but what's the blameless part because it says here Lord that you present me holy and blameless what does that mean you know a blameless means it means that our sins are thrown as far as the east is from the west into the deepest ocean it's it's to the point where Lord I was a wicked person last week and I just gave my life to you you're telling me that you don't you don't remember what I did he says I find you blameless but I did this and I did this and I did this he says I find you blameless there is no blame on you in other words I have I have took the chalkboard of your life and wiped it clean you know was awesome but see I haven't been in prison for 15 years but I guarantee you if I do a crime tomorrow they'll bring my record up all right along you been how long has been you been out of prison for a long time 37 years if you did something tomorrow they'll bring all that up all dusty 37 years and they'll bring it up you're six years amen they'll bring it up but Jesus says I find you blameless he does away with your record he does away with all those files he does away with all of it so so the Bible says not only do I find you holy you are blameless without record and this is crazy right because I'm like okay God I feel like I just want a lot or you just said I'm holy and blameless and he's like oh I'm not done yet what do you mean what else is there he says I find you above reproach and I'm like whoa that's a big word what does that mean mmm above reproach means that they he leaves no room for other people to complain about you while people may still complain or judge you or accusations made against you he says not all of that is done you are above reproach Satan can come and just say this or say that whatever because you are holy you're
a blameless you were above reproach Wow Lord so you know as we wrap this up I want to say this all of this serious everything I've talked about is to say this and I'll finish it up in a story imagine you're a baby and and your parents owned a hundred acres on the most beautiful ranch you could ever think of with metals and trees and hills and horses and animals and there's a stream running through it is just a beautiful place and you're just a baby and you as a baby don't even understand that your father is holding you saying when I go all of this is yours you will never have to worry you will eat of the cleanest You'll eat from the meat of this land. You will play in the streams of this land. Everything here is yours. You are royalty because everything I own is yours. But one night somebody comes and steals you. Somebody breaks into the ranch, breaks into the house. Goes into your room where you're laying in the crib. And snatches you away and takes you. Your parents wake up, they panic. They don't know what happened. They don't know they search and search for you. Not realizing that you were taken to a dingy city and you were taken into a basement of a place and you were taught to eat like a dog from the floor. And you were told that you were filthy and that you were ugly and you were this and you were that, you were beat every night. You never even knew what a mattress felt like. You were forced to sleep on a concrete floor. And you grew up that way. And you heard that this is your life and this is who you are.
And you deserve to eat like a dog because that's what you are. And you deserve to lay on the mat like a dog because that's what you are. And then you eventually grow up there. And you live your whole life thinking, this is who you are. But the father has another son. And a son, every single day he's restless. And finally he tells the father. And he says, "It's not the same. Ever since they took the baby." Father, give me permission. Give me permission to leave this ranch and go find the baby. Even though it's probably an adult now, but let me go find it because what good is all of this? Give me permission and I will go. And the father says, don't you understand? They will hate you over there. They won't understand you. They won't make sense. And even when you find that child, even though when you find my child, that child won't even recognize you. But nevertheless, he grants the son the permission to go. The Bible says that I will leave the 99 to go and find the one. And I will go to the hills, crying out his name. And I will not stop until I find that lamb. And when I find that lamb, I'll put it on my shoulder and take it home.
See, here's the thing. All the things that you have been through in your life, don't you realize the things that you think you are? That's not who you are. Because God had a bigger plan for you. But somewhere along the line, the God of this world stole you. The God of this world robbed you of what was rightfully yours. The God of this world made you believe that you were a dog. Made you believe that you were nothing. Made you believe that whatever it is the world told you made you believe that that's who you are. And all this time, you're like, this is who I am. I'm not worthy of nothing. Imagine all of a sudden the sun shows up and says, hey, I need to bring you home. And now the little child's an adult, a little girl or a young adult or a young boy or a young girl and says, what do you mean? This is my home, this is where I belong. I'm nothing, I'm just filth, I'm this, I'm that. That's not who you are. Just come home. See, this is why people don't come to Christ because they think they're not worthy of it. Not realizing that that child, that person that grew up in the dungeon the whole time, their inheritance was this hundred acre ranch. But they believe the lie.
You know, Satan means deceiver. He's a liar. He captivates you and wraps you, wraps you in chains and makes you believe you're that. And here's the hard part. Let's say they're convinced to come. They come home and the father rejoices. And he says, make the biggest dinner. And they have this beautiful table and put plates and the child sits there and doesn't even know how to eat with a fork. It throws the plate on the floor and begins to lap at it like a dog. Well, it's nighttime. Let's take, show him his room, show him her room, and it's this beautiful room, double pillow mattress, has the buttons to move up and down. This is the best that money could buy. This is your room. This is your bed. And then in the morning, when they come to get the child, the child's on the floor. He said, "Why are you in the floor?" Because I don't know how to sleep like that, because this is all I know. See, the thing is this, the fact is this, is that many of you right now are living a lie of what this world told you you are, because you were stolen as a child. You were stolen as an infant, Satan lied to you from the very beginning. And now you want to fight against the Father who just wants to give you the best. But I just want to say that you are worthy of it. Jesus says, "All that is mine is yours." Jesus says, "I own all the cattle on the hill, all the silver and gold, everything is mine, and I give it to you."
So guys, those of you that have been saved for a long time, when you see somebody come into this church, broken from the dungeon, from the basement, and they don't know how to act Christian. They don't know how to eat off the table. They don't know how to lay on the mattress. They don't know how to talk the way you and I talk. Don't be so quick to judge them. Don't be so fast, because just because you have been saved and in your father's house for the last five, 10, 15, 20 years, don't ever forget that other people are broken and they don't know who they are yet. They don't know. So church, let's stand. This whole sermon series, this is what I want to say, is receive your rightful identity. You are no longer rooted in Adam. You are no longer rooted in Adam. You are rooted in Christ. You are no longer a part of Adam. You have been grafted into the kingdom of God. If you are in Christ, you have been set free. Chains of bondage have been broken. You are no longer slaves of the kingdom of darkness and death has no dominion in your life. If you have gone anything from this series, it's this, is that you are a new creation in Christ. Live in your new identity, embrace your identity of who you truly are. You're not doing something new. You're going back to what it should have been from the beginning. And if there's anybody here, if you have not given your life to the Lord, what better day to surrender your life to the Lord than on the fourth part of who are you identity in Christ?
I say, you know what? I don't want to belong to the kingdom of darkness anymore. I want to belong to the kingdom of life. This is a beautiful thing. See, in the United States to become a citizen, there's all kinds of paperwork, months and months, a lot of money you got to pay. You know what? This is free. He says, all you got to do is come up. Matter of fact, in Romans 10, 9, he says, if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, you shall be saved. That's it. Boom. And he'll rip you out of the kingdom of darkness and plant you into the kingdom of light. Let it be done today. I'm going to pray a prayer. And if that is you, I want you to repeat after me. And if you mean it with your heart, oh my gosh, he will take you out of that old kingdom and plant you in a brand new one and you now belong to him. And if that is you follow after me and say, Lord God, I repent of all my sins. Take out my old heart and give me a new heart. I believe you died on the cross. And after three days, you rose again. You shed your blood for me. You declare me holy. my life. From this moment on, in Jesus name, amen, amen, amen, let's give the Lord a hand. If you pray that prayer in the name of Jesus, I command all chains to be broken, all things to be made brand new in the name of Jesus, that you are not who the world says you are, you are who the Lord says you are.
We're opening up these altars, come on, come on church, you learn your identity, Christ. That should be something to celebrate, ambassadors come forth. If you are an ambassador, I want you to fill this place up right now up front, we're going to worship the Lord. And you are who the Lord says you are. And you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are. Oh, there's no ambassadors, let's fill this place up, only ambassadors come up front. And you are who the Lord says you are. I pray that you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are. I pray that you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are. And you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are. I pray that you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are, you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are who the Lord says you are. You'll have to know that God is there. The Holy Spirit will be there, however you walk, whatever you do, but if you keep Jesus in your heart and let your heart grow and let your faith grow, don't judge, just try to help someone, get to another place. It's hard when you're dealing with people because they all have their own mindsets. But I'm telling you today, I am that ambassador for Jesus. I am that person will stand and we'll talk to you and say, "Hey, you think it's bad? Hell is the worst." Get your heart together, step out and pastor, I can't tell you. You have no idea have you have touched my heart with the series. This is everybody's life whether you believe it or not. We all struggle, and I've asked why I'm here, I'm not really involved in anything or whatever, but I know my heart why I'm here because the Holy Spirit has filled you with the information that you need to give to us.
So I just thank you ambassador for the ceremony. I thank you. And you guys be supportive. I'm blind. I can't see any of these sorts of things. But thank you. Thank you. Jesus is Lord. Amen. Amen.
