Roles of the Holy Spirit

TAKEAWAY HIGHLIGHT
The Holy Spirit is the unseen power of God, the person through whom divine
power is conveyed. It is clear that man’s power or might is inadequate
to accomplish God’s purposes. This can be done only by His Spirit. Our
progression in intimacy of relationship with God is determined in large
part by how much we allow the Spirit of God to work in and through us to
benefit the Kingdom. Our listening to and following Him empowers our
love-motivated obedience.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
What roles do you see the Holy Spirit playing in your life? Are you
increasingly comprehending His Power available to you? Dr. Charles
Stanley has used this example:
“The Spirit of God indwells all believers. But there is a considerable
distinction between having the Holy Spirit within us and the Holy
Spirit releasing His power in our life. Consider the difference between
a sedan and a race car. Both vehicles run, but what is under the hood
of the race car makes it far more powerful than the sedan. When God’s
Spirit enables you, your performance will be like that of a race car.”
