The world needs to see the evident work of the Spirit’s fruitfulness in our

lives. It is the fragrance that comes from this fruit that invites nonbelievers

to become members of the body. We can only give off that fragrance when

we are completely filled, fully submitted, and truly led by the Holy Spirit.

On our own, without the Holy Spirit and without the fruit, we cannot be

effective witnesses. The world will see right through us.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Imagine yourself working as a “fruit inspector”. By honestly examining

the fruit coming forth in your life, would you say you are participating

more daily with the Holy Spirit to bring forth good fruit in keeping with

Jesus, or are you primarily still influenced by the enemy to display bad

fruit? Think about this seriously. Identify specific character qualities

in you of both types.
