No hay nadie, solo tu Cristo. of the world, it brings doubts, concerns, but God is a God who is consistently faithful and who provides, who heals and restores, but he calls us as a church to pray and to recognize that we have to put him first, above all things. So I want us to pray for what is happening in the Middle East, for the attacks from one side and the other, for the governments that are making decisions that impact us, that impact everyone, may God give them wisdom. Let us pray for the church, not only for protection in the United States, but for the church around the world, which can suffer adverse consequences as a result of what is happening at this time. So I think we should really proceed before continuing with our conversation today, the series of Create Space, I think it is important that we join in a moment of prayer and a moment of support for what is happening. Let us pray. Lord, we come before you today thanking you for your fidelity, thanking you because nothing surprises you, but recognizing that these moments create uncertainty, economic uncertainty, mental uncertainty in the hearts of the affected families. I pray for innocent families who are in the midst of fire on one side and the other. I pray for your protection over these families, over these children. I pray for divine direction and wisdom over the leaders of these countries, for their

leaders, for decisions, for divine direction and for intervention in their hearts. Give them wisdom beyond their life experience, in a supernatural way, that their decisions align with your purposes, because we know that in you is the final victory over all things. We recognize that you are a God of peace and that you are the Prince of Peace and we pray for peace in each of the hearts, in each of these countries, and for reconciliation, even when it seems impossible in front of us, we know that you are the God of reconciliation. Lord, we pray for divine protection, I pray for each family that is within my voice, I pray for their schools, their cities, and we also pray for the peace that you must give them, and if we receive it, it is available for our hearts. We pray for the church worldwide, for your protection, for cities that receive your divine protection, your guidance, and your sustenance. Pero hoy llegamos a un punto importante en esta conversación y en esta serie, y el tema de hoy es la rendición, la rendición, el rendirse. Porque si realmente queremos hacer espacio para Dios, no se trata solo de organizar la vida, de establecer prioridades, sino se trata acerca de entregarle nuestra vida a Él y solo a Él. Ahora, quiero decir esto desde el principio. Si hoy nos visitas por primera vez, si eres uno de nuestros visitantes, si eres uno de nuestros huéspedes, para nosotros es un día bien, bien especial como familia y quería darte un poco de contexto. because at the end of this meeting, at the end of the service, we are going to have a reverent moment, a holy moment as a church, a moment for which we have been praying during the last months and the last weeks, we have been preparing for this moment. But if you are one of our guests, if someone invited you today or you came here for the first time, I want to tell you this, relax because you are at home, there is no pressure or expectation on you today, I simply invite you to simply observe and feel the heart of this house. If you are one of our guests, I want to tell you that today's conversation and the cards that you found in the seat are for our family, they are a conversation that we have started weeks ago and you are entering and I wanted to give you that context. So if you visit us today, I wanted to explain to you a little about what the day is about and what is going to happen at the end of the meeting. It is an incredible day for us, it is a day where we have expectations about God's promises, but it is a day to see the heart of North Place and to see the heart of our family and the responsibility we feel to fulfill the mission of Christ in the church, in the city and around the world. It is also an incredible day for all of us who call North Place our church because we are going to be learning how to look at a deeper surrender to Jesus. What is a deeper surrender to Jesus? For all of us, today is a day of surrender, really, because following Jesus is not just believing in Him, following Jesus is trusting Him, learning to trust Him. And what does it really mean to surrender to Jesus? I have asked myself that question for more than 25 years of serving Christ in this season of my life. What does it mean to surrender to Jesus? Does it mean to pray more? Does it mean to read the Bible? Does it mean to be a better person? Or does it mean something much deeper? I remember a specific moment with God after Nair and I had seemed to have sacrificed and given so much, where we both felt that we had given a lot, our career, our dreams, to serve God in the full time in the ministry. But I remember that the Lord whispered to my ear and said, I invite you to a deeper surrender. I invite you to a deeper surrender. And I understood something at that moment, that surrender is not a moment, surrender to God is a process of a lifetime. What God made me understand at that moment, I read it again later in a diary, in a letter from the missionary to Ecuador, Jim Elliot, where he said, a life does not give up in an instant.

What takes a lifetime can only give up throughout a lifetime. In other words, when you said yes to Jesus, you did not finish something, but you just started something. The Christian life is a trajectory, it is a continuous journey of deep and deeper surrender. In fact, Jesus said in Luke chapter 9 verse 23, whoever wants to follow me, deny himself and take his cross every day and follow me. And in Matthew 22 he said, love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind, all, all and all. And then he said, Jesus, this is the first and most important of all commandments. Following Jesus is a life of surrender. Paul saw it very clearly and when he spoke of trust in Galatians, he said, my old self has been crucified in Christ. Or with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live with this earthly body, trusting. It was the key operational word there. Trusting in the Son of God who loved me and surrendered himself for me. Observe the call to surrender in the well-known proverb of chapter 3 verse 5. Trust in the Lord with what? With all your heart. And do not depend on your own understanding, on your own prudence. When you look at that verse, you catch the attention immediately that the author begins that proverb with the word trust. He is telling us that the level of your surrender will be determined by your level of trust in him. La rendición y la confianza en Dios son inseparables. Su nombre es Abraham, y vamos a mirar el capítulo 22 de Génesis. Pero antes de hablarte de Abraham,

quería contarte la historia de un hombre llamado Charles Blondin. Era un francés. Y lo que Nico Alenda es para esta generación era lo que Charles Blondin fue durante el siglo 29. Por muchas, muchas ocasiones, cruzó las cataratas del Niágara en una cuerda floja. De hecho, caminó varias veces sobre esa cuerda floja y lo hacía cada vez más espectacular, porque él era un showman, era un hombre de espectáculo. Y una vez lo hizo con un saco de papas en los costados, en su costado. Otra vez lo hizo cargando una estufa, cocinó la omelette y bajó la omelette de la cuerda floja hasta un barco que estaba ahí en las cataratas del Niágara. Pero en una ocasión hizo algo sumamente interesante. Comenzó en la cuerda floja, y esto era antes de la tecnología, antes del arnés y antes de cualquier medida de seguridad. Él comenzó ese día y tomó una carretilla. Y ese día, como él interactuaba con la audiencia de una forma espectacular, él hizo algo diferente. Y empezó a empujar la carretilla sobre la cuerda floja y antes de cruzar le preguntó a la multitud, ¿Cuántos creen que puedo cruzar empujando esta carretilla? Y la multitud de inmediato respondió, Creemos, sí lo creemos, creemos, creemos. De hecho, él volvió a preguntar, porque quería elevar el ánimo y la energía. Y le dice, ¿De verdad creen que yo puedo cruzar con una carretilla? Y la audiencia dijo, ¡Creemos, creemos, creemos!

Y luego lanzó la próxima pregunta, ¿Quién quiere subirse a la carretilla? Y la audiencia se quedó en silencio. Porque hay una gran diferencia entre creer y confiar. Tú puedes creer algo, pero no estar listo para poner todo tu peso sobre eso. Y así viven muchos cristianos hoy. Creen en Dios, creen que Dios abre puertas, creen que Dios puede bendecir, creen que Dios puede proveer, pero confiar es subirte a la carretilla. Santiago, de hecho, dijo, No me impresiona el que creas en Dios. Él dijo en Santiago 2.19, Magnífico si crees en Dios, porque hasta los demonios creen en Dios. ¿Qué le estaba diciendo Santiago a esa población, a esa audiencia, y qué nos estaba diciendo a nosotros? Creer no es suficiente. La vida transformada comienza cuando pasamos de creer a confiar. Nunca vas a experimentar la plenitud de lo que Dios tiene para ti. La plenitud de caminar con Dios hasta tanto aprendamos a confiar en Él. Realmente hasta que te subas a la carretilla. Familia North Place hoy, de eso es lo que se trata ese momento para nosotros. Hace unos meses dijimos, creemos,

nos vamos a Wylie, creemos. Creemos en la ciudad, creemos en estar allí, creemos en el llamado de lo que Dios quiere hacer. Creemos en esta visión, creemos en esta casa. Ese fue el momento de creemos. Pero hoy es nuestro momento de confiar. Hoy es el momento de confiar. Hoy es el momento de subirnos juntos a la carretilla. Porque la rendición equivale a la confianza. No hay rendición sin confianza. La rendición siempre está conectada a la confianza. Nunca te vas a rendir ante alguien en el que tú no confías. Y nunca vas a confiar en alguien quien no conoce su carácter. Por eso Proverbios 3.5 dice, Confía en el Señor con todo tu corazón. Por eso hoy tenemos que hablar de confianza, de control y del carácter de Dios. Las tres cosas están entrelazadas porque la rendición es soltar el control y confiar en que Dios es bueno. Rendición es soltar el control, confiar de que Dios es bueno. Y para entender cómo se ve eso, tenemos que mirar a este hombre llamado Abraham, que aprendió a confiar en Dios ante toda adversidad. Aprendió a confiar en Dios de una manera radical. Su historia nos enseña cómo vivir

una vida con confianza. completa en rendición. ¿Cómo vivir una vida completamente rendida ante Dios? Si no estás ahí en tu Biblia, busca el capítulo 22, porque Abraham nos va a enseñar cómo confiar en Dios cuando él nos lo pide todo. Si hay alguien que aprendió a confiar plenamente en Dios fue Abraham. Y la historia que vamos a leer es una de las más profundas acerca de rendición que podemos encontrar en toda la Biblia. Dios le había prometido, dado más bien, Abraham un hijo. Le dio un hijo y el hijo se llamaba Isaac. Pero no era cualquier hijo, era el hijo del milagro. Él había esperado por él por años. Era el hijo de la promesa, el hijo por el cual él había esperado y su esposa Sarah por tanto tiempo. Realmente, todo el futuro de Abraham estaba conectado a Isaac. Cuando tú miras lo que Dios le pide a Abraham

es extraordinario. Pero su primera reacción fue obediencia inmediata. Obediencia inmediata. Dice el verso tres, a la mañana siguiente, Abraham se levantó temprano. No negoció, no discutió, no propuso. Dios habló y Abraham obedeció. Esa es una señal de alguien que podemos decir confía profundamente en Dios. Porque la rendición comienza cuando dejamos de exigir explicaciones antes de obedecer. Cuando confías en el carácter de Dios, no necesitas que él te dé todos los detalles. Cuando confías en el carácter de Dios y sabes que Dios es bueno, no necesitas entender todo su plan. Lo que nos lleva a lo que hizo Abraham en segunda instancia, él hizo una declaración de fe. De hecho, cuando iban de camino al monte, el monte se llamaba Moria, donde él iba a llevar a cabo el sacrificio. Abraham le dice a los siervos, mi hijo y yo, en el capítulo 22, verso tres, él le dice, mi hijo y yo volveremos. Y esa es una declaración de fe. Porque Dios lo había llamado a sacrificar su hijo, a entregar su hijo. Pero él dijo, mi hijo y yo volveremos. Mi hijo y yo adoraremos. Abraham no entendía todo,

pero confiaba en el carácter de Dios. Por eso, de hecho, el libro de Hebreos, el capítulo 11, lo puedes buscar más adelante, en el verso 19, Abraham creía que Dios era capaz de resucitar a Isaac. Eso es confianza. Eso es confianza. Confianza no es entender. Confianza es conocer el corazón de Dios. Confianza es conocer el carácter de Dios, aunque no entiendas el proceso. Y ahí tú puedes ver claramente que Abraham tenía eso claro cuando él responde en el verso siete. Isaac era un muchacho listo. Y dijo, veo la leña, en el verso siete, veo el fuego, pero ¿dónde está el sacrificio? Él decía, estás tú, estoy yo, está la leña y está el fuego, pero ¿dónde está el sacrificio? Y en el verso ocho, tú miras la respuesta inmediata de Abraham, Dios proveerá. Es algo increíblemente hermoso, como reflejo de lo que es creerle a Dios, pero al mismo tiempo confiar en Él. Él no sabía lo que iba a pasar, pero porque conocía el corazón de Dios, conocía el carácter de Dios y sabía que Dios siempre es bueno, su fidelidad es para siempre. Él dijo, Dios proveerá, Dios proveerá. La primera vez en la Biblia que vemos el nombre

de Dios registrado como Jehovah Jireh, Dios proveerá, es porque Abraham aprendió algo. Que cuando tú conoces el carácter de Dios, tú puedes soltar el control. Tú puedes soltar el control de todo aquello que te inquieta, que te preocupa, que te mantiene despierto en la noche. Y aquí está algo profundo, aquí está el meollo del asunto, del problema. Isaac no era solo su hijo. Era el lugar donde Abraham había puesto su seguridad. Era el lugar donde Abraham había puesto su confianza. Era el lugar donde Abraham había puesto su esperanza, su futuro, Isaac se había convertido en el Señor. in the center of his life. His son had become the center of his life. And God wanted to make sure that the gift was not replacing the giver. Because when God's gifts become the foundation of our life, what it means is that we have placed our trust in something that is not God. The reality is that God did not want to take Isaac away. He just wanted to make sure that Abraham would not love the gift more than the giver. Mount Moriah was not a mountain of punishment. It was a mountain of surrender. When God took Abraham and Isaac to Mount Moriah,

Moriah was not a mountain of loss. It was a mountain of surrender. And when Abraham opened his hands, he discovered that God always provides a surrendered heart. If Abraham had kept his hands closed and his son close to his chest, he would not have discovered that God is Jehovah-Jireh, the Provider. When he realizes, if I open my hands, what I give up, God gives it back to me in abundance. And sooner or later, you know what? We all have a moment in Moriah where God's gift is tested before him to determine if the gift has become more important than the giver of that gift. This moment that we are living as a church is not administrative, it is spiritual. Today we are not talking about money. We are talking about trust. We are talking about surrender. We are talking about obedience. Today, as a church, I can say that this is the moment of Mount Moriah for us. It is a moment in which God asks us, do you trust me or do you believe in me? If we go back for a moment to the story of Blondin, the crowd said,

we believe, we believe. But when it was time to get on the cart, no one moved. Because believing in the crowd is easy. Trusting becomes personal. Trusting requires movement. Trusting requires faith. And today we are not as a crowd, we are your church. And I believe that God is inviting us to go from believing to trusting. I don't know if you've seen a safety harness, but when someone crosses dangerous heights, the harness doesn't eliminate the risk, but it connects you with something firm. That's how surrender works. God is our harness instead of the things that are around us. Doesn't it mean when we trust in God that there will be no uncertainty? Doesn't it mean that everything will be easy? Doesn't it mean that there will be no sacrifice? Doesn't it mean that we are connected to a faithful God? Connected to a God that is our provider. Connected to a God that sustains us. Recognizing that God is our safety, that God has everything under control, and not me, and trusting in God's character. The reality is that each family and each person

is in a different place. But my invitation today is that we all participate from a surrendered heart. There are different ways to respond, and when people ask me, how do you and Nair plan how much you're going to give? And recently one of our students asked me that question in our residence. They're students, they don't have a lot of resources, but they say, I don't have a lot, but I want to share what I have. And we share the way, as Nair and I have looked at it. Nair and I say, okay, there are three buckets that we have access to. We have the bucket of abundance, where I can say, you know what? Of the good that God has given me, I can share something from here. It's a bucket. I can give what I have, not what I have left over, but what I know I can count on. There's the second bucket, which is the bucket of sacrifice. If I don't drink five Starbucks coffees a week and I sacrifice myself, I can give from the point of view of sacrifice. I was saying it as a joke, right? But if I make changes in my life,

I can give from a place of sacrifice that is going to cost me, I have to adapt, but that's the second bucket from where we participate and where we plan. The first bucket depends on me, the second bucket depends on me, on Nair and me, right? The first and the second depends on us. But there's a third bucket, and it's the supernatural bucket, where you say, sir, this is what I have, this is what I can give. But the supernatural bucket says, if you put something in my hands, from there I'm going to give it to you. That's the bucket where there's a lot of growth for a lot of people. Because there's a lot of people who give from abundance, because they're good administrators, they handle well, they're just generous. There are people who give from sacrifice, but there are people who say, but I don't dare to make a promise, that's why we call it a promise of faith, because it comes from the supernatural. Sir, if you put it in my hands, I'm going to use it for your kingdom, I'm going to use it for your purposes. It's a declaration of faith, before you have it,

you're saying, sir, if you don't do it, I can't do it. That's a promise. That's how we think about giving. You have to believe God and trust in him, saying, sir, if you give it, if you put it in my hands. This is not about equality, that everyone gives equally, it's about obedience. It's not about quantity either, it's about giving. God never asks us to give the same. He never asks us to give the same. He only asks us to trust. That we trust in him. When you came in today, I mentioned that there were some cards. Those cards are not for pressure, they're for information. The cards are for information, they're not manipulation, they're completely for you to have a conversation, you and God. Many have already come prepared, because we've been talking about this topic for a long time, others are praying. But this is not a moment to respond

in an emotional way. It's a spiritual moment. It's not a moment of manipulation. It's a moment where we're saying, for the next two years, we're responding in faith. And as our promise of faith, this is what we're going to do. And each family decides. Not from obligation, but from trust. So today I want to invite you. I want to invite you to a moment of reflection, a moment of prayer, where you don't have anything yet, but say, Lord, what does it mean to surrender more deeply? What are you calling me to? What does it mean to trust you more? And Lord, what does it mean to get on the cart? What is it for me to get on the cart and stop believing and trusting? When you say that prayer, some will feel peace, others, challenge, emotion, fear. But this is what I'm telling you. If God speaks to you, respond. If God speaks to you, respond. In a moment, I want you to open your heart to God. And together, the hosts will pass the buckets.

Interestingly, we have buckets. And the cart will be here in front. They're going to pass a bucket and then we're going to pick up our promise. Maybe you say, Lord, from me, sacrifice. But I invite you to say, Lord, from my supernatural place. From my supernatural place. If you provide, I give. As a family of North Place Widely, we have been praying and dreaming together. And when we got here to this building, it has a value of $9.5 million. And when we got here, it was practically ready, but we have $200,000 in debt that we want to pay. And I say, Lord, that in this time, we can pay that debt. That together as a family, we can complete and say, people of Spain, we complete the debt and we pay the debt that was due. It's not a goal to pressure you. It's a goal for us to walk together in faith and prayer. It's not about a few doing a lot. It's not about everyone participating according to what God puts in our hearts. There are people who are going to give a greater amount. There are people who give with sacrifice, but there are people, I know,

who are going to give for the first time. And I say, Lord, I want to get out of believing and trusting. And do you know what makes this moment beautiful? What truly makes it incredible is that we can do it together, as a family. After the prayer, we will have a moment to deposit our card, our promise of faith, and deposit there your prayer as well. At that moment, more than 25 years ago, God began to teach me, Nair, and me, where we thought we had already given everything, that Christian life is a life of giving. And today, as a church, we have the opportunity to live like this again. To live that moment and that time. For Nair and for me, we want to be an example. And we want to say, Lord, I trust in you. For us, it is time again to trust, to give, and to get back on the wheel. And when we do it together, this is what I have discovered. God does things that only he can do. Before I pray and come to participate, I want to tell you something very, very pastoral that I added to the sermon yesterday. I know very well, it is clear to me, that for some of you, this is a moment of uncertainty. I want to tell you this because the economic climate, the political environment, the conversations at home, the high cost of everything, for some of you, this is not a simple moment. But I want to remind you of something. God is always faithful. God is still faithful, even in times of uncertainty. Even in times of uncertainty, he is still our provider and our sustainer. Our trust has never been in the economy. Our trust has to be in the King of kings and Lord of lords. It has to be in the character of God. And I want you to listen to this with an open heart.

No quantity is too small. No quantity is too small because when God looks at the heart, and before God, it is never about quantity, it is about surrender. It is about obedience, it is about trust. Do you remember the story of the widow's coins? What did Jesus say? There have been many who have deposited so much, but she gave more than anyone else. Why? Because she gave everything. For Jesus, what she gave represented everything. Because heaven does not measure numbers or quantity. Heaven looks at the heart. And I felt telling you this, if you are in a moment of real pressure, of real need, of real anguish, I would never want you to feel forced or ashamed. But at the same time, I want to offer you the opportunity to experience the supernatural provision of God. I never want to hinder the spiritual growth or the development of your faith. But I want to tell you something. If the enemy whispers to you and tells you that your quantity is not important, what the enemy really wants to tell you is that you are not important. And that is a lie. You matter. Your faith matters. Your obedience matters. And your commitment to God matters. For God, your step of faith is never, never, never insignificant. Because it is part of your growth. It is part of learning to recognize, He is my provider. He is our provider. So here, today, no one is less. No one is insignificant.

And no one stays out. For no reason. As a family, we all walk together. We trust together. And we grow together. Because God sees the heart. And sees each one of us. I want you to pray with me where you are. And say, Lord, today I present myself before you. With open hands and a sincere heart. Everything I am. Everything I have comes from you. You have been faithful in every season. in times of abundance and also in times of uncertainty. Today, as a church, we choose to trust, not in the economy, not in human security, not in what we can control, Lord, we trust in you because you are our provider. You are our sustainer. You are our safe harness. I ask you today, Lord, that you look at the heart of each person. You know each story, each family, each need, each fear, and each desire to honor you. That this moment is not an external act, but an expression of love and surrender. Receive what we offer you today as an offering of faith. Form our character. Teach us to trust more deeply

and use our lives, oh God, so that many more may know you and come to your kingdom. We are yours. We declare that everything is yours with gratitude and trust. We respond today to your voice.
