Today we are going to talk about the second word of our series, space. What does the word about creating space mean? It's important because God fulfills what we make space intentionally. God fulfills it! God fills everything we make space, but listen to me carefully! Making space is hospitality.

Making space is a priority. It's the way we say to God, You are welcome here. Making space to God is saying to Him, You are welcome. Do you know that God lives where He is welcome? While God is omnipresent and He is everywhere, He only manifests where He is welcome. Where you make space for Him. Where people have prepared space for Him. Where they have prepared a place. God does not invade, God does not impose. He does not force His presence. In fact, from the beginning in Genesis, what does it say? He prepared a garden and walked with Adam and Eve. In Exodus it says, Make me a sanctuary and I will dwell among you. In John 1, 14 it says, The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And when you go to the last book of the Bible, in Revelation, chapter 21, it says, The Tabernacle

of God is now with men. The desire and the heart of God is to dwell among humanity. Among men. Among humanity. The fact that He started everything in a garden gives you implications. In fact, it explicitly says, I want to dwell with you. Sin broke everything, He sent His Son, Jesus. He dies for us to restore that relationship, close the gap, because His desire is to reconstitute us as His family. And through Jesus Christ is what we have achieved. So, Luke gives us a very important biblical detail that would seem like a historical detail, but it is fundamental in the spiritual journey of each person. In Luke chapter 2, verse 6 and 7, it says, There was no place for them in the Tabernacle. There was no place for them in the Tabernacle. And notice this, the Tabernacle was not hostile,

the Tabernacle was not in sin, the Tabernacle was not immoral, the Tabernacle was not rejecting God, it was simply full. There was no place. Joseph and Mary could not enter, and neither did Jesus. There was no space. In fact, this is the tragedy of Christmas. If you want to find a tragedy, that is the tragedy of Christmas. What? Salvation came. The glory of God approached. God erupts and enters into human history. and there was no room for him. There was no room for him. Listen to this phrase, the greatest miracle in history did not happen unnoticed by evil, but by distraction. If we are honest, the greatest enemy of our spiritual life is not the rampant sin in our life, it is a saturated heart. The danger, the enemy and the danger of the growth of your spiritual life is a full agenda.

It is a full mind. It is full priorities. You know that when we do not make space for God in an intentional way, the hurry fills our life. Comfort fills our life. Noise fills our life. Control fills our life. That is why Jesus says in Revelation 3.20, I am here, I am at the door and I call. That is the first thing you can notice from that extract, from that verse, that Jesus is outside. Not because he left, but because there was no space. Traditionally, in Christian churches, we use that verse to make the call. And we think that that verse has to do with salvation. It has nothing to do with salvation. It has to do with making space in the heart of the human being for God. Because he is outside, he says, I am outside your heart. I am knocking on the door of your heart. If you make space for me, I will come in and have dinner with you. In other words, I want a close and profound and transformative relationship with you. If you received me, you accepted me as your Lord, forgiver and savior,

but there are areas in which you have not made space for me because your heart is full of other things. But you are reminding us, I am at the door and I knock and I call. In the Bible, it reminds us that Jesus was born where there was no space. So that you and I could have space with God forever. That is the profound and transformative truth of the Gospel. But many times, making space requires faith before seeing the results. And most of us are like Saint Thomas. Until he puts his finger in my throat, I will not believe. Yes or no? And the Christian faith says, it requires that we take action before seeing the results. Noah built before the rain. Israel walked before the Red Sea opened. The woman, Zunamita, prepared a room, a room for the prophet before the resurrection came to her life and her family. Mary, Martha's sister, sat at the feet of Jesus before understanding it all. The reality is that making space is a faith that is acted in advance. And I feel that today God is talking to someone in particular because you want to see results, but you have not acted your faith. You want to see results, but the word teaches you and says, faith without work is dead.

We want to see the result and then act. And he says, no, that's how it works. Faith, action, result. That's what he's teaching us. Creating space. Create space, rather. And the miracle is on the other side. In Mark chapter 2, if you look at the Gospel, chapter 2, verses 1 to 12, he tells us about a great story. Jesus is teaching and the house is full, it's full of people. It's so full that there were people in need who could not enter the house. No one else could enter. So what you see in this passage is not a sinning crowd. What you see is that the house was full. What you see is that there was no space. But four men arrive, carrying a paralytic friend who created space where there was no space. When they see that there is no space, what do they do? They go up to the roof. They break the roof of a house that was not theirs, but they break the roof and go down to the friend. What happened was that it was expensive, it was uncomfortable, for sure they received criticism, for sure they received some screams than others, at least the owner of the house had to have been screaming. But none of that kept them apart from their goal. It was uncomfortable, it was risky, it was really disruptive. It was something difficult, complicated. But the Bible tells us something interesting in verse 5.

When Jesus saw the faith... Of whom? Of the paralytic? Of whom? Of the one who received the miracle? No. Of whom? Of them! Of them! They were not working for a need, their own need. It was not the faith of the paralytic, it was the faith of their friends. The miracle in this story begins when someone creates space. When someone creates space that did not exist before. This is the thing. The crowd admires Jesus. They go for the bread, for the fish, to observe what he is going to teach, the miracles, they sat down. I don't know, for so many things. The crowd admires Jesus. But the faith creates space for others to reach him. The faith creates space for others to come to Jesus. The faith creates space. Why? Because Jesus created space for us. Jesus made space for us. What the friends did for the paralytic is really what Jesus did for us. We could not get to where he was in any way. Religion tells you through your works, if you behave well, you achieve such a thing. If you work well, you receive a reward. That is what religion and legalism tell you. The gospel tells you, there is no way you can get to where I am.

Because I am God, I am holy, and your works cannot take you to where I am. So God sees it that way. He sends his son Jesus Christ and says, I am going to get to your depth. I am going to get to your darkness. I am going to get to your inability. I am going to get to your pain. And I am going to lift you up. And I am going to restore you. And I am going to give you a new name. And I am going to give you a new family. I am going to transform your heart. Because I created space for you. And if you make space for me, you will see the result in your life in the present and in your eternity in the future. That is the gospel. That is the essence of the gospel. When you realize that, then you say, no, no, no, wait a minute. You made all that space for me. Now I am going to make space for you in my little heart. I give you my broken heart. I give you my struggles. I give you my disappointment. I give you my discouragement. I give you my marriage. I give you my family. I give you my work. I give you my uncertainty. I give you my future. There is something important here about making space because Jesus made space for you. In Philippians, Paul says, he stripped himself. And he did not consider being like God enough not to come.

He lost his space in heaven. For what? To bring us to the presence of God. We do not make space for God to love us. He loves us. And there is nothing, no one, neither the past, nor the present, nor the future, nor the future, nor your enemy, nor your mistakes can separate you from the love of Christ. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. We do not make space for God to love us. We make space because Jesus made it possible. Jesus made it possible. Today I want to share something important with you as a family. We belong to a great family. First of all, to the body of Christ. The church of Christ in general. But we are part of a family called North Place. North Place, the church North Place. Established in the city of Saxony since 1921. We are here in this community, in this city. And if there is something I have seen, Nair, and we have seen as a family through the years. We have been here for 26 years. God fills what we make space for. God fills what we make space for. And many times, the miracle God wants to do in someone else's life is waiting for someone to be willing to make space. For someone to be willing to make room and say, I'm going to make space. I'm going to make space for those who aren't there. I'm going to make space for those who haven't arrived. I'm going to make space. Because in the same way that He rescued me, transformed me,

saved me and gave me hope where there was no hope, I'm going to make space so that someone else, who doesn't deserve it like me, didn't deserve it either, but because I'm unworthy, today I live full of the grace of God. That drives me to make space. In a moment, I want to illustrate this to you as a family. We're going to have a family conversation. And I told you a while ago, if you're new, you've arrived on a great day. But the conversation we're going to have today about projects, and vision, and development, and buildings, and all the things that come before us, if you're a guest of ours, if you're not part of North Place, just listen and look where God is taking us. It's not a moment of pressure, it's a moment of vision. It's a moment of making space. Space for those who haven't arrived. This is important. You and I are not the first generation to have had to make space. You and I are not the first generation. Many years before this auditorium, someone made space. When this was just a supermarket, I don't know if those of you who live around here know that this was a supermarket, before it was North Place, before it was a supermarket, before this auditorium, before North Place Wiley, North Place Wiley in Spanish, existed, before we had services in Spanish. There was a woman named Lenny, and there was a man named Oscar.

Not this Oscar. Another Oscar. Since Oscar went to live with the Lord. But Lenny and Oscar. Lenny is maybe 85 years old, 78 years old, and has been in North Place for 70 years. 74 years in North Place. A girl came and still attends our SACSI campus. But why am I telling you about Lenny? Because Lenny had to sell pies. Do you know what a pie is? A cake, more or less. Or a pie, we say in some places. But a pie. I don't like eating pies. I'd rather eat a pie. Apple pie, whatever you want, right? But she had to make pies at home to pay for the electricity and water of the church. Because SACSI was a small town, extremely poor, and the people were only 12, 14 people. And there were not enough resources to pay not even for the electricity. And Oscar, she sold the pies and paid for the electricity and water. Oscar cut the yard,

taught the Bible school, and led the praise and worship. But they not only led the praise, cut the yard, and sold pies. They prayed and believed that they had to make space for those who had not yet arrived. We are the answer to Lenny's prayer. You and I are the answer to that prayer. Amen, amen. And I want you to see this story and while you see it, I don't want you to look at it as something past. I don't want you to look at it as something far away and distant from us. I want you to look inside of it. Because before North Flays Español, where today more than 18 people from practically all of Latin America, India, the United States, and Palestine worship God on two campuses in Español. Before any of that existed, there was someone who said, we have to create space. We have to create space

for those who don't speak English. We have to create space for people from different countries who didn't even live in any of us in this city or in these nearby cities. I'm telling you this, Lenny's story is our story. And I want you to see where we are going as a church. After this video I'll come back and I'll finish the conversation with you. Before there was a sanctuary, before there were stages or a campus, there was a room. That's where George Estes and a small group of believers prayed for a woman to be healed and our church was born. Cuando los recursos eran escasos. Pero nunca dejó de creer que Dios aún no había terminado.

Ahora, ha vivido lo suficiente para ver a Dios responder oraciones que una vez susurró siendo una joven. Desde la sala de George, a Leni en el primer edificio en la calle tercera de Sachse, hasta el edificio junto a la autopista George Bush que hoy llamamos hogar, Dios siguió multiplicando. Hoy, la historia se extiende mucho más lejos de lo que ella jamás imaginó. Un campus en Wylie, en Garland, múltiples unidades penitenciarias, en Durban, S. África, y pronto, la Ciudad de México. Esta es la recompensa de Leni. La cosecha de cada oración que hizo y de cada sacrificio que ofreció. Vivimos en la recompensa de Leni. Vivimos en la bendición de una fe que se negó a rendirse. Su historia nos recuerda que Dios es fiel. Dios multiplica y Él honra las oraciones constantes de aquellos que lo invocan. Y la recompensa de Leni es solo el comienzo. Cuando hacemos espacio, Dios lo llena. Desde 1921, desde una sala en Sachse, hasta una iglesia que alcanza ciudades y naciones, nuestra iglesia ha estado formada por personas que abren espacio para la misión de Dios y para las personas que Él ama. Y aquí estamos otra vez, con una nueva oportunidad frente a nosotros. En esta temporada, nuestra iglesia ha visto un crecimiento sin precedentes. En el 2025, en todos nuestros campos, dimos la bienvenida a 1,375 invitados por primera vez a nuestra familia espiritual. La asistencia dominical ha aumentado más de un 25% año tras año. 452 personas hicieron pública su fe a través del bautismo en agua. A través de CreaEspacio, avanzamos juntos como una sola iglesia, creyendo en 5.5 millones para prepararnos para las personas que Dios está trayendo a nuestra familia espiritual. Nuestro propósito es más grande que una ubicación, porque cada campus comparte una misión, y cada historia importa para todos nosotros. Así estamos creando espacio. Construyendo aproximadamente 4,000 pies cuadrados de un nuevo espacio multiuso para desbordamiento dominical y diseñado para albergar Descubre Paso Uno. Today, Josh is a husband, father, and pastor of the North Place Church campus, reaching people far beyond the walls where he grew up. His children now run through the corridors with the same joy and laughter that he had. But stories like Josh's didn't start with him long before he entered the Children's Ministry for the first time. Someone was praying for the generations to come. Lenny prayed and gave a sacrifice to a church that would survive. For children he would never know. For leaders who did not yet exist. He prayed heaven to the future, a prayer at the same time. And today, Josh is the living proof that his prayers are reaching farther than she could have imagined. This is Lenny's reward. This is the legacy in motion. And Josh is the evidence that when the faithful pray, God writes stories that transcend generations. Let us make space together for more stories,

more disciples, and more of God's presence. Create space and observe how God fills it. I don't know about you, but I felt it in my heart. Because when the faithful pray, God creates stories of transformation. We don't just believe it in the past, we believe it in the present. This is not just a plan, this is multigenerational faith. This is faith looking to the future. That is what the church is. It is Matthew 28, 19 and 20. The essence of the church in action. Now, I want you to listen to me clearly. This initiative to create space will increase our capacity in all our campuses. Why? Because North Place is not Sachse or Wiley or Garland. North Place is one spiritual family. It seems important. Sachse matters to each of us. Our central campus is in Sachse. Many of us have had the opportunity to be there. If you are new, we have not been there, but we will be there. Sachse still finances our campuses from Wiley and Garland. In fact, for example, before we could get here, Sachse invested $9.5 million to turn an abandoned supermarket into a sanctuary so that we could get here. In Garland, this last year, Sachse invested $300,000 to reach that community and see life transformed. So, Sachse is important. Why? Because this is when Sachse grows, we all grow. If Sachse is limited, we are all limited. This is not a they and a we.

We are one family. This is what I always tell my children. When the tide rises, all the boats rise. I'll leave it to you so you can sit down. When Sachse rises, all the boats associated with Sachse rise. Because we are connected. When Sachse grows, we grow. And today, with the time we have left, I want to give you some details. But I want to do two things. I want to inform you and I want to invite you. You say, I'm going to create space for forgotten people, the place is forgotten. And if no one has services for families with needs, with children with special needs, we're going to have them. And what happens? Families come because God's love transforms, God's love comes, restores, revives. When you create space, God fills it. Lenny created space, and guess what? Here we are. And you don't know that if Latinos open the door, we fill the building. We fill the building. I don't know how many prayed, but I don't know if there were that many. But you know what? Here we are. Because someone had the faith and the desire to say, we have to create space. Those who speak Spanish are coming. And what did our church say?

We have to create space. It's inconvenient to translate everything sometimes. It's expensive to translate the whole initiative. Yes, it is. But you know what our church decided? We have to create space. This church has a heart for the immigrant. Of all the countries. But we have created space, especially for the Latin American immigrant. You create space, and God fills it. So, here in Wiley, we have problems because we have regeneration, and there is nowhere to do activities on Mondays. All spaces are full. We want to carry out more discipleship. The spaces are full. So we are going to reconfigure the vestibule, create areas where we can have multi-purpose rooms. This is what God used here in Wiley to be able to continue creating space. God called us to be disciples. And we can't stop. Do you know why? Because He said, I am with you until the end of time. And so, as a church, we throw ourselves. As a church, we believe. As a church, we create space. As a church, we pray. As a church, we participate.

We participate. You saw the spaces that we are going to be carrying out in Wiley. 200 new parking spaces. People arrive and leave at 10 a.m. But do you know how beautiful it is? Do you know that we moved from Sachse to here? If you didn't know, we just moved from Sachse to here. But you know what? They opened a new service, a new meeting at 12.30 in English. And because we made space, now there are 500 people gathering at 12.30 in the afternoon who didn't go to any church before. We made space. And God filled it. So we are going to make space in Sachse for parking spaces. We are going to add seats that fold, that fold in that sense. Kind of like a theater, right? And that is going to create space for 1,000 new seats in our four Sachse meetings. And something that excites me. It excites me a lot. Parking excites me. and all the other seats. But the pavilion, say pavilion, right? I'm almost going to put the Victory Pavilion so it sounds religious, right? 4,000 square feet, basically made of glass everywhere,

for discipline, hospitality, and connection. There's going to be an opportunity for everyone to participate in that on the SACC campus, but you know one of the things that excites me about that space? North Flags Wiley is about six and a half miles from the SACC campus. Garland is about six and a half miles from the SACC campus. When we do something here, it's hard for people from North Flags Garland to come all the way here. And when we do things there, it's hard for people from here. But at SACC, we'd be in the same middle. And there we can have nights of worship and praise, nights of prayer, union, where we can have North Flags united, SACC and Wiley and Garland in one space where we can celebrate. So what happens at SACC affects us too. We want to make space and receive people as family. What do I mean by all of this? Since Genesis, God told us, be fruitful, multiply, and administer what I have entrusted to you. What's happening at North Flags is not normal. And we're not going to do it sitting down. We're going to take what He has given us and we're going to do it like the previous generation did. They created space. And what if in 40 or 50 years from now,

a person comes and sits here and says, thank you, because 40 years, 30 years ago, someone created space. Someone had the vision. And even though they didn't know my name or my story, they created space for me to find a place where my life is restored. It's a multigenerational issue. And today, you know what one of my goals was? To expand our vision. To expand our vision, because God's vision is too big. It's not about buildings. It's about making space for transformed lives. My fundamental invitation today is, I want to invite you to make space. Make space for God in your life during the coming weeks. Pray. Listen to God. And ask Him, say, Lord, how do you want my family to participate in creating space for someone else? How do you want my family to participate in creating space for someone else? That's what a family is about. We're not consumers. Consumers come, receive, and leave. Come, receive, and leave. The family participates.

The family prays. The family works. The family goes. The family contributes. Imagine if you had a lot of people in your family and no one does anything, and everyone just leaves. And what they do is binge-watch Netflix. And no one wants to participate in the chores of the house. Don't look at the teenagers in the house. They don't do anything. The family, united, advances. The family is united. No one conquers it. No one defeats it. My prayer is that one day, you and I, we get to heaven, and someone says, thank you for creating space. Thank you for creating space. Amen. I want to leave you with this phrase. For those of us who don't make space, we eventually lose it. But when we make space, God fills it. I want to invite the prayer team, our group leaders, our regeneration leaders, who are the people who accompany us to pray, who are part of the team that prays, to come with me to the front.

Maybe today's talk was a lot about vision. It was a lot about where we're going as a church. But God is maybe inviting you personally and individually to create space. We have seen people healed of cancer, we have seen people that God has given unexpected funds in their workplace, it is something incredible, it is unexpected. We prayed for entrepreneurs two weeks ago and God brought a testimony these days of how God provided, so unite your faith, even if it is like a grain of mustard. There is a need in your house, in your family, in your workplace, a co-worker. Come and stand in the gap and let God really surprise you. Amen.
