Christ Un-barred - EP 96 - Houston TX Road Trip - 2026 Grace Intl Conference
Join us each week for our podcast. This time we went on a road trip to Houston Texas to our yearly Grace International Leadership Conference 2026. House of Rest Church 500 9th Street B1, Modesto CA 95354
You Oh Right We're back hola back from Texas y'all yeah, yeah, what's up y'all I'm down what With your y'all think they noticed my hat and I got it Bucky's Yeah, they were there when you got it. You showed it. I didn't show it You were trying on it Yeah, but I didn't see this until you left the cardboard in there. Yeah I Can see it right here because it holds it holds the shape. Yeah, but it looks weird Take it out. It holds the shape. Oh my gosh Now it's all bent no, it's fine. Oh my gosh stop it anyways We are here and we're back and we're safe and you're gonna fast-forward. Aren't you? That's messed up. Eh Don't do it So but don't do it. I get it for those that only get an hour But hopefully if you do fast-forward at least come back to this because You're gonna miss out on us yeah, and you miss this So anyways guys we got a real good I did a lot of editing and put a lot of footage I didn't get a lot of driving per se because The car rental we had usually has a GPS on the car so I can record with the phone This one didn't so I had to use my GPS a lot. I didn't know how to get around so I either record and get lost or Use a GPS and not record and I didn't want to be lost. I didn't want to be lost either Yeah, but we did I am bound what was cool about this one those we did get a lot of interaction from our people You know and and I think that's cool because you get to meet some of our peeps yeah, and a lot of clips from the actual conference of the different speakers and the different people and so anyways
You know, once again, we had a great great it was my personal favorite Grace International Conference ever. Mm-hmm. Would you agree? I would agree Yeah, it was cool Charlie Kirk's pastor was there Rob McCoy got to meet him Obviously pastor Thomas pastor Moses pastor George from India Steve Riggle the president Pastor Larry the vice president our pastor Pastor Scott. Well, you guys already know from Fairfield. We have sir, Becky We got just got to hang out with so many people and it was just really awesome and then the worship team over there You know Josh and aging. Yeah Yeah, it was great man, it was great and You know when we go because we rent an Airbnb So would basically if you don't know what that means, it's it's a house rental. It's a lot cheaper than getting hotels because then we all pull our money together and just rent the house and it gives for more opportunity of fellowship and bonding and That's another part. That's my favorite is not just a conference But the people that come along with us and we get to bond and fellowship and that's always good. Yeah, we do that with We're able to do the Airbnb with the leadership and the staff We we normally do that with just leadership and the staff. It'd be really hard to do that with just everybody but yeah, we're able to do that with the leadership and the staff and let me tell you it I You know, that's my favorite, you know, my favorite part when we're able to Just fellowship and just have that intimate moment those intimate moments and and just be able to to break that bread together to you know play games and there's those moments where we get into the word and we just share we just share those God moments together and I I love those moments those moments when you're or some of us wake up super early, we have coffee together, and then some moments where sharing your story and some break out into little Bible studies, and they're just amazing. Yeah, well, we all pitched in and just got some basic stuff for the refrigerator and whatnot, so whoever would wake up early would just make eggs. Yeah, yeah. You would have Jessica over there making a few dozen eggs, and she'd just leave it there, so that way it'd be ready already, and then we'd have the Keurig, and we'd just
make our coffee and stuff, and it was just awesome, and then I cut up some fruit just to have a big old bowl of fruit ready, just so everybody can just grab some fruit. The Keurig is a coffee maker, guys. It's this new thing that I still don't know how to use them. So you can just make little individual, like your little individual coffee one at a time, for those of you guys that don't know what a Keurig is, because the regular coffee maker was not working, so... They had one, but it wasn't... They had one, but it didn't work. So... It was perfect, though. Yeah, before we get into it, too, I just wanted to share with you guys that, you know... The trip there was horrible, guys. Oh, my gosh. Horrible. We didn't even tell them yet. No. Okay, because if you guys, for those that forwarded, they're not going to get any context. They're going to be like, what happened? But those of you that didn't forward, you're going to get the full scoop. So every year we go, we drive from here to LA to get an LAX, a one shot to Houston. This year, we thought we were going to go... Save some money. Save some money and go the less troublesome route instead of driving all the way to LA. So we decided to get flights out of San Francisco. And some out of Sacramento, you know, thinking we would do... Yeah, our group, we were flying out of San Francisco. Some of the group was flying out of Sacramento, but they were connecting flights, meaning there was a layover, and then from wherever, San Francisco to somewhere to Houston or Sacramento somewhere to Houston, we thought that was the best route. It's going to be better than driving to LA. Oh my gosh, it turned into...
A nightmare. Yeah. So half of our crew went to Sacramento and... 10 of them. And their plane from LA, where they were supposed to go, they missed it. So now they're stuck. Well, they were delayed because of the flight, because of the airline. Mm-hmm. And that was a big old issue. And that's their story to tell, not mine. But we got a story to tell. Well, they're not going to be able to tell that story. When are they going to be able to tell that story? Well, I wasn't there, so I can't tell their story. I just know that they got... It was just a disaster. Yeah. Our story, though. So Sharon is really concerned and worried. If you watch Sunday Service, we're freaking out because, you know, a bunch of our people are stuck. And Sharon was really worried. And on the way, I'm like, hey, I get it. You're really worried about them. I said, but we ain't safe ourselves, you know? So we have a connecting flight. Well, hold on. They need to know because they're going to see on the service. That's why we ended up picking a love offering and everything because of that. Because I was on text because Jessica was messaging me, telling me our flights left us in LAX and they ended up canceling on us. So we're all left without a flight. And they said some of us are thinking of driving to Texas and some of there's one couple are just canceling their flight altogether. They're just going to go home. And I'm like, wait, wait, wait, wait. What are you guys doing? And she's like, and we're just going to go ahead and, you know, use some other tickets that we have that we have credit for. And the rest are just going to drive to Texas. And I said, that's impossible. That's a 20, almost a 23 hour, a 23 hour drive. And I said, and you guys are going to be licensed and presented over there. You're not going to make it on time. So I said, that's out of the question. And I said, there is no way you guys are going to make it on time. So that's when I
wrote that note to pastor and I went to put it in front of him. And I told him our crew is literally stranded over there. And there's no way for them to be able to get over there because they're not going to refund their money until seven to 10 days. And they didn't have the money to buy money like that to buy tickets, to buy, renew their tickets or anything. So that's when I put that note in front of pastor. And I was like, what do we do? We have everybody stranded over there. So that's when things went into action. So boom, that gets taken care of. But then when we're driving to ours, he's like, wait a minute, we're not Scott free yet. So, so we get to San Francisco, we get there in perfect time. We check in in perfect time. And our plane was supposed to leave at 405. And we got there to two hours before. So as we're waiting at the gate, then the the sign outside of our gate said or got moved that we're not leaving at 405 we're leaving at 425. And I'm like, oh man, because our layover in LA, our plane was going to go to San Francisco to LA with a one hour layover. So and then from there to Houston. But when our plane said 405 to 425, now it means we have a 35 minute layover. And I'm like, because if the gates are far apart, that's not, you know, it's hard. It's hard to unboard those planes because everybody wants to get out at the same time and then to get to the gate. So I'm getting nervous. And then the screen changes. It says, oh, it's more delay. It's your, the plane's leaving at 435 then 445 and then five. And then we finally get in the plane and it sat there. I don't know how long it sat there. And right before takeoff, I'm just like, there's no way. And we got a notification saying that, um, we're going to miss our flight from LA. We're already on the plane to LA and we have no flight to get on in LA. We're going to be stuck. And then it said, here's the option though. We'll give you an option. We'll fly you out at nine 35 in the morning and you'll get to Texas at two 45 the next day, the next day, man, I haven't, I had a meeting at nine 30 in Texas and we weren't going to leave till nine 45. So I started looking for other options and, um, we were flying Delta. And so on the app, it said, if you want other options, click here and we won't charge you extra. So I started looking at other options we had. And the, the only one was from LA to Atlanta, Georgia, and then back to Houston the next day at eight 30 in the morning. So here we are now in LAX had to wait three hours for that flight. I that's all it was going to be an all nighter. We wait in LAX for three hours, get on a flight, four hours to Atlanta, Georgia, three hours in Atlanta, Georgia, and then an hour or so a flight back to Houston after all night, I'm still in the clothes I preached in. You're still in the clothes we had Sunday service in.
We land. I'm like, okay, I got one hour. Maybe I can get to the Airbnb house. I could shower because I'm in the same clothes I preached in 24 hours later. And, and, and I can get to the church because the church was like 12 minutes away from the Airbnb that plane lands. And that thing that connects like that runway, whatever it is wouldn't work. We sat on that plane for one hour. And by the time we actually got out, because then everybody wants to get out, it was like nine 45. The meeting had already started. I still had to get our baggage still had to get the car rental, still had to drive 35 minutes to the church. I missed the meeting guys. So it was, it was rough. By the time I got to the Airbnb house, it was what to still in the same clothes. I preached in the morning prior. And so it started off and, and at that point I was frustrated and I just, we told each other, this is going to be an amazing conference because it's going to be an amazing conference because it's like the enemy wants to just ruin it, you know? And it was an amazing conference. It was so everybody had their issues. The only one that actually didn't have issues with was pastor angel and Diana. You know why? Cause they had no layover flight. They did not do no connecting flights, but a direct flight. So never again, matter of fact, I don't ever want to go there to Houston out of San Francisco ever again. I will drive to LAX. Yes. It's, it's, it's just, that's what we've always done. We've always done that. Never had an issue. And the one time we tried doing it a better way, it was the worst way. So I agree. Yeah. So aside from that, I want to share with you something, guys, we've really been putting some thought into this. And, um, you know, once in a while we get a handful of people that actually get out and they come here, you know, and, uh, what we're going to start is a weekly for men at first, or eventually we're going to go to women, um, a men's, I guess you want to call it a reintegration into freedom. Um, and it's going to be a group that's going to meet weekly. We're still putting it together. We're still in the works. We're, we're really excited about it. Right. And, uh, so, uh, we're, we're going to enter be introducing you to, um, one of the brothers is going to be running that. And I've been training him myself and, and, uh, we've been doing some mock sessions of how I want it to be. And, and then we talk about it and we're shaping it out and whatnot. And I'm really, really excited. that because there's one thing I'd always shared with you when I first got out I was very very grateful because I went to a halfway house and even though it wasn't a Christian base we had to go see this like a counselor type as a group setting and then one-on-one every single week
it was required if we didn't go we were gonna get violated to go back to prison but they talked about things being a parent again unrealistic expectations when you get out and just so many subjects that were so key and important to reintegrating because it's one thing to be serving God to be at church is another to get acclimated to freedom to acclimate it to a job and just all these things guys so we're going to be introducing the brother very soon because he's going to be the go-to guy you like a drink when you get out what is it one of my water drinks okay oh it's good the peach peach pretty good so we're going to bring them on here soon and uh so you can meet them because that's another thing is that um when you guys are going to release and if you are heading this direction we need to know we can't get blindsided I would hate for somebody to come unannounced and there's nobody here for three days because that happens sometimes we're busy we're doing this we're doing that we're not always here at the church yeah when we are here it's long hours but a lot of times we do work out of home because it's things to do on the laptop things to do that you do uh separately at the house you know or or sometimes we're other places you know so i'm really excited about that so um i'm looking forward to that anyways you're gonna get started let's do it all right don't got a whole lot of letters but not a little bit of letters somewhere in the middle and uh here we go angel guirero from wapan correction execution yeah that's what i said guirero you just said the same thing twice guirero wisconsin short timing july 26th nice and um has a bucket list for me to baptize him and i'd be honored to brother um very proud of you very proud of what you're doing you know he's he's young he's 24 years old nice so keep writing us that's my son's age abraham's gonna be uh abraham's gonna be 24 on may 22nd oh really yes he'll be 24 years old that's my son's home fernando ayala santiago is that better canon city colorado thank you so much brother we appreciate it may the lord multiply it brother michael r devore senior branchville indiana and um oh he had a question but he has some resources yes he had some resources that he sent to us um he says in mark chapter 9 why weren't the disciples able to heal the demon-possessed boy why did they still need jesus intervention um well you know they were disciples the disciple means their students they were still learning you know you got to understand jesus was not yet crucified yet he was not yet resurrected yet so they were literally students of his so they
were learning that's why they needed him number two i heard a message that talked about certain biblical characters as models for us are we really supposed to look up to human models it seems to me that the only person we look up to is jesus yes and no because paul himself says follow me as i follow christ in other words you know how a child learns to speak english because mom and dad speak english you know a child learns to speak spanish because mom and dad speak spanish teach him yeah you know how a little boy learns how to do things because he watches dad you know how a little girl learns how to do things watch his mom so god has given us parents to model after the bible says older men teach the younger men older women teach the younger women so we're supposed to follow christ but there are people that we model after that's why we got to be careful on who it is that we're following because in essence if you're watching us if you're a man a lot of you men are watching me how i am how i interact i have gotten so many letters from brothers that say man i love to watch you and sharon because even though sometimes you guys bicker whatever like it lets you see how we de-escalate even within the very episode there's times where you know we get a little riled up with each other but within that up, it doesn't turn into this shouting match. It doesn't turn into that because she's my wife, man, and it doesn't mean that she's not going to do things or I'm not going to do things that are going to bother each other, but ultimately there's no reason for things to escalate. So I think what I mean by that is a lot of brothers never saw a healthy Christian relationship. Or healthy bickering or bantering. Yeah, so it models. So in essence, so yeah, hopefully I asked your question. Let's see. Okay, he left a lot of things here, but I wish we could show them on there, but we can't. Is that one that'll need to be scanned? Yeah, these are resources. Thank you for the resources. I'm ready to, I have enough to be able to scan like I did last time. I have a few of them set aside so we can scan them again. Okay. Nelson Funes Garcia, Bellingham, Washington. And this one's in Spanish. En Español, muchas gracias. Te lo agradecemos Nelson Funes Garcia. Funes, ese es el apellido de un familiar mio. Muchas gracias por tu carta. Clayton Clark Coulter in Illinois. He's really praying to go to Pastor Scott in Fairfield.
Nice, nice. Make sure you write him if you haven't yet. Absolutely, make sure you write him. Okay, Mr. Mike, little baby writing. Let me, I need to write. Mr. Michael Crudup, I believe it says, Amberland, Maryland, I believe. Um, let's see. Okay, so when you had asked about chaplains in your letter, or you, I don't know if you asked about chaplains, or you wanted some insight, or you gave your opinion on chaplains. But I will say this, is just like anything, there's good cops, bad cops. There's good inmates, there's bad inmates. There's people in the hole that belong there. There's people in the hole that shouldn't be there. In the same way, there's chaplains. Some are good chaplains, some aren't. Some are there for a paycheck, some are there, and it is their job. Some are there because they just, you know, so. But I will say this, sometimes not everything is in the chaplain's hand. They're held back too, because remember, they are Christian chaplains working for a secular system. So I heard one chaplain say, so many people request Bibles, but they don't give me a budget to buy Bibles, and we only get Bibles if other churches give us Bibles. So we have no Bibles to give. It's out of their hands. So please keep that in mind, guys. Don't get too hard on your chaplains, because a lot of them, they got a lot of red tape. A lot of them have their hands tied, you know, and that's unfortunate, you know. So I say that to say this, is that ultimately when you're doing your time, you can't blame the chaplain. You got to find a way, you know. It's got to be you, and I wish there was more that could be done, but you got to meet Jesus where you're at, you know, and walls cannot keep Jesus out. We have to be the hands. We have to be the feet. We all have to do our part together. If we somehow have the knowledge, if we somehow have the gospel, the word, and all of that, then we have to be the mouthpiece to go out there and spread the gospel. We all have to do our part. You know, there's some countries, Indonesia, even China, where some pastors, underground church, all they have is one page of the Bible, and they will preach through that page over and over and over because that's all they got. And if somebody in a situation like that can do that, then you can do what you can do, you know, whatever it is that is. And if you don't have a Bible,
find a daily bread. Find something. Find one of these sermons or one of these Bible studies that you're listening to through here. Write it down and give this Bible study or something like that. I want to share that we have one of the sisters, you know, that listens to, that has been part of our online, you know, and you know what she does now? She has, you know, she actually invites people to her home when we give our Bible studies, and they watch the Bible study together there, and when they're done with the Bible study, they actually ask questions. They have a Q&A and everything, and they talk about the Bible study of what was given, the whole thing. And that's something that, you know, if you can do that, why don't you, if you have one tablet, let's just say you have one tablet, gather some, gather a few of you guys together, and you guys watch. A few of you guys can watch the Bible study together on one tablet. And then, you know, maybe have Q&A together. I don't know if they have speakers or if they have to be on headphones, I'm not sure. You know, even if you've got to read it, you know, sometimes some of them have the, what do you call when you... Ours don't. Yeah. But some do. Closed caption. Closed caption or something, or if you have to write down the Bible study or do something like that, you know, transcribe it or however you do, but, you know, take some notes and have a Bible study off of it. Whatever you can, you know, share the love. Yeah. Ultimately, you're going to do your time according to you. And we can't blame the chaplain, the warden, the correctional officer. It's all on you, man. You know, and hopefully that doesn't sound harsh, but ultimately, you know, nobody's going to care as much as you care. And you got to do things for yourself because ain't nobody going to hand it to you. And this life is cruel and it's not right.
Maybe it's not right. It isn't right. But you know what? God is going to honor you for that, you know. Amen. Richard Vale, sometimes he watches the sermons over. Oh, nice. Yeah. Yeah. So, but thank you so much, brother. Continue writing us. Continue viewing us. God bless you. Ronald Lutweiler, Maury, North Carolina. And we're going to be praying for you, actually, with the, he was talking about a lot of the health issues that he has. And it's unfortunate, you know. I wanted to say something right here. Yeah, there's just a lot of different issues, a lot of things. Look at all these issues that he has, you know, in health-wise. And I just wanted to pray for you, brother. Actually, I want to pray for you right now. Amen. Yeah, let's do it. Let me take my hat off. I always want to honor the Lord when I pray. Let me see his first name again. Ronald. Ronald. So, guys, let's all join together and pray for Ronald.
There's a lot of issues. And, you know, it's hard enough having bad health. Triple that, quadruple that 10 times in prison, having bad health. You know, so we pray for Ronald in the name of Jesus. Lord God, I know that you are the master surgeon, the master doctor. You are the master of everything, Lord God. And it's so hard for him, Lord God. Some of them, I don't know his situation, but sometimes I'm sure it's hard to see a doctor, to be seen, to get the medication that he needs for the ailment, the pain, or the chronic things that are going on. So I pray for his body right now from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet in the name of Jesus. For inflammation, I command it to go down now in the name of Jesus. For all pain, in the name of Jesus right now. For any muscle, tendon, nerve, or bone, in the name of Jesus, I pray for his blood and his organs and command them to function the way they were meant to function, Lord. I thank you, Lord God, for everything because you know him. I don't know him. Aaron doesn't know him, but you know him, Lord God, more than he knows himself. And you love him. Not only do you know him, you love him, Lord God. And I pray for healing in the mighty name of Jesus right now, in Jesus' name, amen. Amen. That's for anybody that is feeling sick. Kyler, Erie, LaGrange, or LaGrange, or LaGrange, Kentucky. He's from Imperial Beach. That's where, San Diego, where we do that bike ride, the Coronado. We do a bike ride from Coronado all the way down the Silver Strand and it ends at Imperial Beach. So beautiful over there.
Yeah, it's beautiful there. Yeah, it's a beautiful area. Dominic E., Kingston, New York. And thank you so much. We're going to be praying, he says, pray for Mark Conner and the issues that Mark is having. Ray Gonzalez from Corcoran. Ray number two. Hey, I love that you've continued to write us, brother. God bless you. Thank you so much. Keep writing us, brother. Amen. Keep writing us. Rufus Jenkins, Leon County Jail, Tallahassee. We still haven't heard from our other Ray Gonzalez. Oh wait, I forgot to put my hat back. Put your hat back on, baby. All right. He took my advice and started writing his daughter. Yeah. Keep on doing it. No reply yet, but don't matter. Don't stop. Do your part. Don't stop, won't stop. Thank you, man. Thank you for letting me know that you took my advice, man. Thank you. Lawrence Tracy La Plata, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Thank you so much for the art piece and we see your prayer request.
Amen. Jonathan Santoyo, Corcoran, California, had a question on fasting. This is a good one. I remember reading this and I was telling you, oh, this is gonna be a good one to talk about. Because, where's the question at? Here it is. You didn't use the highlighter, did you? No, but it's right here. So he had read about fasting, right? And he says, I noticed, or should I say, my question is regarding specifics. He's not asking if it's good or bad, he's talking about the specifics of fasting, if there's specific instructions on how to open and start fast, how to break your fast, how to end fast, how can we go to sleep during fasting, is it proper to end fasting with performing communion, or timing for fasting, can we fast for certain hours during the day? Well, Pastor Roach, I've been struggling with these questions, you know? And this is the beauty of it, is that there are no specific ways to fast. What's more important than the specific way is your heart issue. That's gonna be the most important thing, because you wanna honor God through it.
So there are some people that fast all day, morning to night, or 24 hour period, or 48 hour period, or whatever it is. Some people fast until dinner time. Some eat breakfast and won't eat until the next breakfast. Some will say, I'm gonna fast for a month between these hours and these hours. There is nothing specific, but what's more important is how you're honoring God with it, right? Because if you're sitting there fasting and you're complaining the whole time, then what's your heart, you know? You're miserable. Yeah, you know, so what about this, you know? And again, there's no formula for it, but what if, like, it's dinner time, and you're like, well, I'm not going to the chow hall because I'm starving. What if you go to the chow hall, or if you're able to, I don't know, sometimes you can't do this, and you give it to somebody that you know doesn't have commissary? Instead of that tray going to waste and nobody eating it, what if it goes to somebody that could really use it? Because God's gonna bless you with that. So what's your heart issue? You know, if you eat a spread every night, but you're like, you know what? I'm gonna fast from spreading. So as soon as they serve dinner,
I'm not gonna eat nothing. I'm gonna give it to the Lord until breakfast, you know? But let's say your friends make spread. Take it and give it to somebody that don't have nothing. You know, or instead of eating at that moment, read your word. Let it be a moment to honor God. So fasting is weakening your flesh so you're stronger in the spirit. So if you're just complaining, then you might as well just eat. That's the honest truth. You might as well just eat. Because when you do a fast unto the Lord with the right heart, it will break the chains of addiction. It'll break the chains of cloudiness of mind. You know, it'll set you free. So, you know, again, now I like this. So I never heard this, but is it proper to end fasting with communion? I think that's beautiful. I never heard that. Yeah, that's good. But I like that. I don't see anything wrong with that. I think that's awesome. That's something that you can do. Implement, right? Implement yourself, yeah. Can you go to sleep during fasting?
How long has your dad been fasting? Since I was eight. Well, I mean, he's eight, but you gotta say when I was eight on a Sunday. And because of that, he fasts every Sunday until it's a early dinner, actually. So that's what, 40? 46 years. 46 years he's been fasting every Sunday for the exact same amount of time. Yeah, that's just a promise he made unto the Lord. And he's just kept it. Yeah, so that could be something that you wanna implement unto the Lord on your own. Yeah, well, actually, he eats lunch. So it's just breakfast that he missed because then he goes to service and then he has lunch, you know? Yeah. Jose Elias Perez Guerra, was the same one as, no, the other one was Guerrero. Iowa Park, Texas. So he asked a question about women preaching. All I wanna say is this first, is that women preachers is different from a woman pastor. A pastor is somebody that oversees a church. A preacher is somebody that gets behind the pulpit and gives a message, you know? When we go in the Bible, it was man that was given that. It was man that told Adam, hey, you teach your wife.
We see this all over. The Bible says in the New Testament, for the leader, the pastor, to be a husband of one woman. So we know it's talking about males. But I like your point you made and I believe this is true too because he says, well, Jesus says, if you won't praise me, then the rocks will. do believe that many times us men, and this is a conviction to men, not to women, that men are not rising up. Men are doing things they're not supposed to do. Men are getting caught up in vices and things like that. So God is going to raise up a woman to preach the Word of God. I have seen this happen. A friend of mine went to Puerto Rico years ago, and he was supposed to speak at I believe eight churches. He went down there. Do you realize? Of course you don't know. I'm going to tell you. Every single one of those eight churches was a woman pastor leading the church. And he didn't notice until like the fourth one. He says, wait a second. He goes, I don't, I'm not saying anything against it because he didn't want to argue because he was a guest. He goes, but I noticed that all of these churches are led by women. And the women said, our men are drunks and somebody has to preach the gospel. So it goes back to, if somebody won't worship, then the rocks will. God will raise up. So I think that there's a rightful way in the Bible.
But I believe that at the same time, how many, how many, okay. How many of you were raised up by a single mom? Did she want to be mom and dad? I bet you she didn't. I didn't. Right? That I raised my four kids. But God gave women the strength to be mom and dad. That's not the proper order. But when the man is going to be weak and run off, then the woman has to rise up. Now is that the proper way? No. Every, every child should have a mom and dad. They need that balance. But if that balance isn't there, what does a woman do? Give up? No, she's going to have to step up to the plate. So in the same way, you know, um, his last question, communion, um, isn't it Catholic or Christian? I'm going to say it's neither. It's what Christ ordered us to do. Jesus said that. He says, do this in remembrance of me. He didn't. So if a Catholic wants to say, oh, that's Catholic, or if a Christian wants to say it, no, that's what Jesus implemented. And when Jesus was here, there was no Catholic. There was no Christian. There was just those that followed Jesus. And he implemented that.
So, uh, John Kedrowski, why does that remind me of, um, Monsters Inc, right? Is it Kedrowski or something like that? John Kedrowski, the Kedrowski, Kedrowski, the third Tampa, Florida, um, uh, he needs a hip replacement. Hmm. So we're going to be praying for you. The prayer we prayed earlier, rewind it and receive that in the name of Jesus. Christopher Johnson, Auburn Correctional Facility, Auburn. And I love this. He gave, he told people how to search for us on Edovo. Nice. Remember? And that's cool. So I'm going to show you guys how to find all of our stuff on Edovo. And um, it's right here. So when you go on Edovo, oh no, this is a question, do you believe this war is a sign of God coming back soon? I believe every single war is a sign. Jesus says there's going to be signs, uh, and also the road trip, a zoo trip would be cool. Uh, but as far as the Edovo, oh, right here. So guys, if you have Edovo, he says there's three ways to find us in three categories. One is house of rest church Sunday services. There's seven seasons. Second, house of rest church podcast. There's four seasons. And third, house of rest church Bible study, three seasons. So apparently if you're looking up for, I think that's where people are having issues because they're going to Edovo, typing up Christ Unbarred, but we're under house of rest.
Yeah. And, and I think if you just type, type in house arrest, uh, Sunday service, house arrest church Sunday services, you're, you're, you're not finding the podcast and the Bible study because you think that those seven seasons are just the church services and that's it. But actually you got to type in podcast to get those four seasons and you got to type in the Bible study to get those three seasons. Yeah. So there's the three different categories. He says you're closing in on a hundred videos by the time you get this letter probably be a hundred or so. Congratulations on a big milestone. We love your sermons and Sunday services and podcasts. Thank you. Nice. Nice. Yeah. How do you say nice? Nice. Nice. Carlos Hernandez in Chino, California. What is it with you rolling your eyes today? I don't know, but you know what? This was an amazing letter. Praise God. You got my book. I have a book guys that most of you probably know it's called, uh, lost in the storm. It's my story. I wrote most of it while in solitary confinement and then I finished the rest when I got out, he got saved. January 26.
So he's brand new. really, really love this letter. Brother, you are a future leader. Continue to be hungry for God. Seek out God. Read his word. Pray unto him. Talk to him. Conversate with the Lord. And thank you so much. And here's his resource here. And for some reason, I wrote, read it. So let's see. That's a prayer request. We're going to add that on there. You didn't put that on there, babe. I know, because I wanted you to do something. Okay. So this ministry will send a prisoner ministry resource list. So this will get them a resource list. It's International Prison Ministry. IPM in parentheses. Yes. P.O. Box 1088, Chula Vista, C-H-U-L-A, V as in Victor, I-S-T-A, California, 91912-1088. So he says that they will send you a resource list. That is great. We should order that, actually. I think I'm going to. Yeah. All right. That was just for no reason. You know what, guys? Bam. Evangelist cat. Look at that cat. You haven't put the moving ones on here yet? Not yet. But guys, I just animated all of these, and I can't wait to show you. All of these are animated now, but I didn't have a chance because we just got back from Texas, and you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay. Gilbert Cole, San Quentin, California. And thank you so much. He mentioned Luis. Oh, yeah. I've been talking to my brother almost every day. I love talking to him. And he's hoping we reach out to his friend there. Yes. Amen. Mark Hughes, Huntsville, Texas. And has some jokes. Loves the road trips. The Texas, San Antonio, Houston one. I have to write certain things on here because we didn't have our stamp. I know. Did you hear about the mafia guy who got busted in the Sudoku scam? Yeah. He was running a numbers racket. I don't get it because I'm not a Sudoku player.
No, but I think it has to do with numbers. So I'll still give him a... And I think that's the only joke he had, I believe. Yeah. What'd you guys think of the joke about the Flintstones? Oh, you haven't... It's in the road trip. It's in the road trip. Okay. Jose Jesus Castor, Estelle Unit, Huntsville, Texas. Thank you so much. We're going to have your grandson in prayer. His name's Isaiah. His birthday was 3-30-26, eight years old. And you took it away. I can't read the rest of my notes. Well, because you don't write... Oh, pray that he knows Jesus. Amen. Little baby, eight years old. Amen. Precious little boy. Lawrence A. Tracy, La Plata County Jail, Johnsboro, Arkansas. Very sorry to hear that you were in the situation, and I pray that the transfer comes quickly for you in Jesus' name. Okay. Jason Hurst, Gatesville, Texas. His pirate name is Money Bucket Sparrow DePlank. DePlank? DePlank. DePlank. And he has some prayer requests there that we're going to add to our prayers. Okay. Bobby Foskey, Madison Correctional Institution. And he writes his own notes in the back. First of all, we love you too, brother. I love you because Steve Riggle told us, he goes, yeah, I got a letter from somebody, and I had a feeling it was you. Yeah. He says, brother, I wrote Steve Riggle and asked his wife to pray for my court cases. His wife... Is a prayer warrior. Prayer warrior, man. She sure is. Yeah. So thank you for writing him. Hopefully you guys are writing Steve Riggle,
the president of Grace International. David R. Decatur, Georgia. Man, Georgia. I think we're traumatized right now. Yeah. Again... Not that we don't like Georgia. It's just like, we didn't want to end up all the way over there. I'm not doing all-nighter in Georgia. We wanted to enjoy it. Brother, rewind if you didn't get to see the prayer for healing. I pray that prayer for you also. He has a cyst in his leg, and just praying for addictions and stuff, and just receive that prayer. Amen, brother. Steve Jimenez, Arcata, Florida, and had some questions here. So he likes the peanut van, and he likes the old bike. And he says, Sharon, you sing very pretty. And he sent bookmarks. Thank you. And he liked my American shirt I had the other day. Remember the blue one with the American flag on it? But look, now my hat has an American flag on it. Is this camera on? Yeah, you can see the flag. I got this at Buc-ee's. What did I say he had? Oh, questions. Preguntas. All right. Here they are. You didn't highlight them, did you? Well, he wrote questions.
What kind of clothes did Jesus wear? Don't know, but obviously, most likely, whatever they wore in that time period. Probably some very itchy burlap stuff. At what age did Jesus die? At age 33, usually 33 and 1 half. He started his ministry at 30 years old. How do I know that? Because in Jewish tradition, they couldn't become a teacher till they were 30. And the moment he turned 30, we know that he started teaching. And he lived for about 3 and 1 half years before they crucified him. Why didn't people use last names? Don't know, honestly. I know that using last names is a recent thing in history. It's not something that's always been. Back then, they were just like, let's say if you live from a place called Polka and your name's David, they'd be like, oh, that's David from Polka. You know what I mean? So eventually, over time, or it would be your trade. If you were a carpenter, if you were a blacksmith. David the carpenter. That's why there's last names carpenter, or blacksmith, or you know, so. David blacksmith. Yeah. When Jesus died, was there a bad thunderstorm and earthquake? Yes, that's in the Bible, actually.
I believe in the Gospel of John. The moment he died, there was an eclipse. The sky turned dark. There was an earthquake. Yes. Oh, that's all the questions. Yeah, and he likes the stuff, the Kool-Aid man, the old American flag. Which one? Oh, that one. That is a nice flag over there, huh? Where? On the wall, look. On the wall to your right. Oh, yes. And can you do a story? Can I do a story on heaven and hell? Oh, a sermon, I believe. Can I do a sermon on heaven and hell? I think I probably have here and there, to be honest with you. Yeah. Chansey Coggs, Corona, California. Sister, thank you so much for your prayers. And thank you for your letters. We want to continue to hear from you all the time. And thank you. Thank you for writing us and thinking about us, taking the time to write us. Richard Hagood, Lovelock, Nevada. Nevada, it's a resource.
Nice. Look, it's like a resource, like a newspaper thing. And same thing. I'm curious, was this the same resource you sent? Did you send it twice, or are they different? I'm not sure. Yeah, Raul Belaya, Pelican Bay State Prison. And I want to thank you so much, brother. Keep writing us. Keep watching us. Encourage others to watch us. Let people know, man. A good way to let people know, maybe they don't want to hear sermons. Maybe they don't want to hear Bible studies. But who's not going to appreciate the road trips? And we're starting to get letters where people are starting to get saved by watching the road trips. Why? Because if you're going to watch a road trip, then you're going to hear the gospel being shared. That's the payoff here. And so you get people that don't believe in Jesus watching the road trips. And that's just a worm on the hook, because our job is to compel people to come to Christ. Mr. Karen Otis. Bill Clements, Amarillo, Texas. That, that, like, echoey.
He finally sent a photo. I know, Otis. And he said, I look mean. I go, it's OK. Man, I'd look mad too if I was getting my mug shot. But he wrote a letter to me, to you, to Armando Lorena. We got to give it to them. Thank you. Yeah, we got to give it to them. Here's a joke. Look I highlighted it. I know Okay, what did the chicken say to the other chicken? Nothing because chickens don't talk they cluck That's the joke. It was just one joke one joke No, oh no Andrew s Tenney Elmira correctional facility Elmira, New York. Thank you so much for your letter Lawrence Tracy La Plata County Jail, Johnsboro, Arkansas Oh, he has a he has a He has a joke oh man Let's see I think a few episodes back we explained about Zeph the guitar player and his his siblings we explained that they moved on and went to another place of worship and we Hope for good things for them, you know, but yeah, they stepped down here and house the rest We explained it a little bit more. What if there is that does it change everything? I'm like changes nothing because God still created them, too They need salvation too. So it's a ET Darth Vader, they all need Jesus too, but back to this Commissary list Yeah, so let's look at your writing is like so perfect. Mm-hmm. So let's see 12 pack of root beer seven dollars. Is that how much is like a root beer 12 pack? That's about right? No. Yeah Yeah, depending where you go Batteries $1.80 for double-a $1.80 for triple A's Barbecue sauce 283 Not bad. Well, they're Timberlands because the boots they give you they hurt my feet so bad and and my parents sent me money so I can get Timberlands, and there was, man. So, yeah, man, good stuff. Yeah, this is a lot of stuff in there. Yeah, it is. That's cool that you wrote it, thank you. This is a cool commissary. I wanna display this one, this is really cool. Yeah, that is cool. I wanna go shopping. Okay, Bobby Foskey! It is you! Okay. I'm gonna give you, Roy, one of these, too. It's just Colton in an ear. So Bobby Foskey brought up about, and I've heard a lot, you're not the first one to bring it up, is saying that Jesus didn't die on Friday, because how's Friday and then Sunday, that's not three days. He's like, I think, I believe he died on a Wednesday and rose. You know, and I've heard people say that, but in all honesty, these are things that are non-essential, it still doesn't change the reason he died and the reason he resurrected.
So because of that, I won't cause division over that. I think it's, you know, I don't mind you bringing it up, you know, at all. I mean, it doesn't bother me, because ultimately, I don't even believe the day we celebrate his birthday was the day he was born, but we still celebrate his birthday. Why? Because we knew he was born, you know? So, I mean, but yeah, thank you. Thank you for that, brother. Brian Hurtado, St. Charles, Illinois, and I'm so glad you have this friend, Eric Torres, that is encouraging you. I appreciate that you watched the road trip views, and continue to lean toward God, because the closer you lean toward God, it's gonna bring you to truth. And I just wanna share this last thing with you. You gotta remember that ultimately, when Jesus rose again, he defeated death. Death is a person. Why would anyone worship the one that Jesus defeated? Matter of fact, he said he took the keys from Hades and death. Jesus is superior. His name is above all names. And I wanna be on the winning team. Do you wanna be on the winning team? Absolutely.
Well, you know what, who wins? It's Jesus. Ultimately, he sits on the throne. All power and dominion is under his feet. The earth is his footstool, and he took the keys from death. He says, give me those keys, man. Those are mine. And I'm so glad that you actually, even through the road trips, you came to hang out with us. And thank you for writing us, and just keep writing us, and keep tuning in. We love you, brother. Read your Bible, man. Absolutely. And is he the one that asked what Bible we read? I don't know. I'm not sure. If you did, we read from the ESV. From the ESV. Yeah, it is the ESV. God bless you. If it's you, I'm not sure if it was you that asked that. Even if it's not, we do read off the ESV Bible, and we love you very much, brother. Amen! Jesse Drake Blythe, California. And hopefully, his date is 2028, but if he gets his programs, maybe December 2027.
Nice. But he's nearby. He's from Pittsburgh, over there by Antioch. I love that he does, he used to love doing a lot of the same stuff that we did, him and his wife, was it? Yes, him and his wife. You and your wife did a lot of the same stuff that we love doing, and going on some of the areas, the same areas that me and David would drive to, and everything, so that was really, really awesome. So, you're gonna get to do those things once again. And I have a question for you, brother, so you have to write us back, because you mentioned where we parked in Truckee, there's a cafe you and your wife go to. You didn't tell me the cafe. I need to know what cafe, so we can go. Exactly. So, I wanna take Sharon over there, and hold on, hold on. Oh, I don't have any resources in the Bay Area for second chance employees. I wish I did, I don't. I actually just recently looked those up for my brother, as a matter of fact. Those are the resources that I sent. But that's in LA. No, it's for all over. Okay.
It's for all over. So, I was already thinking about putting those up for our resources, but I am gonna put them up on Facebook, and I'm actually gonna put them up on here, because it's for all over the United States, as a matter of fact. So, I'm gonna put them up. Don't worry about that. I will put them up. And the last thing you said, in Fairfield, because you saw the Fairfield video, he says on Texas Street and Pennsylvania Street, there's a gas station. And he said the tacos in there are bomb. Oh, nice. So, next time we go to Fairfield. Yeah, I sent those resources to Luis. Okay. Yeah, really cool resources. All right, last two, Sonny Chavira, in Repressive California, or Folsom State Prison. He just straight up, he was like, I'm not a believer, but I like the content, and I started with the road trips. He's the one that asked about the ESV. Yeah, asked for the ESV. Okay. So, yeah, we study out of the ESV. I'll tell you why, because it's probably one of the closest, because all the Bibles.
It's not written in English, obviously, I'm sure you know that, but the closest translation from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic is ESV is one of them. It's in the top. That's why we preach out of the ESV. I'll use other Bibles. I have the NIV, New King James, which I love, which is very close to the original also. The Message you hear me use in a Bible study, but my main study is ESV. But keep writing us, and he wants to see the books on the shelf. Maybe one of these days I can show you what books I have, or just show them, I just film footage of it. Nice. Perfect. And last, but not least, Joseph Diaz, Santa Maria, California, and thank you so much for your letter. Thank you. So, that concludes, and now you can go to Houston with us. All right. We love you guys. Enjoy the trip, guys. All right. God bless. Bye. All right, guys. The journey begins. We're in San Francisco Airport. We got through TSA already. At the beginning of the Forge ministry, where we're training leaders, I'll give you a little more statistics on what we're doing there, and raising up pastors and leaders, and sending them out, but when the Orange opportunity came about, which we didn't foresee coming at the circle, right by Disneyland, as I prayed about that, I felt like we should send someone that we really couldn't afford to lose, and that was John and Lydia, we sent our best there, and so I just wanna show you Sunday, our Easter Sunday was our sixth month anniversary, and so here's what, here was Easter Sunday at Orange, remember this church, this building was empty, there were no people there, at all, it shut down, the building was in pretty sad shape, Steve and Patty Jordan, Steve, where are you guys, Steve, would you stand, you and Patty stand up, and Steve was saved in that church, and he married the choir director, who was Patty, and they had pastored for many years in the Assemblies of God, but they finally, the Lord delivered them, and they finally came back home, and Steve and Patty have been a huge, huge help in us getting the building there in shape, it was a major, it would have been easier to build a new building, but God's given us now a beautiful facility, and Steve and Patty are working alongside John and Lydia there, and Randy, are you here in the service today, Randy, if you are, would you stand, are you here right now, and Randy Wolfstrom, who is our superintendent in Southern California, Randy has invested many, many, many hours that be way beyond the call of duty, it's an honor, even if I'm a replacement, in Latin America, they have, you can buy, when you go buy a medicine, you can buy the brand of the medicine, and then they have the generic brand, I tend to be the generic brand, when people can't afford to fly my dad to a conference, they go with the cheaper option, that's just the way it is, you're the youngest in the team, and then my dad puts these conferences together, and he flies all the speakers, and sometimes he asks me to speak, all the other speakers, he buys them a direct flight, wherever they're going from, straight into where the conference is, I get those discount flights, I have to stop in Brazil, from Brazil, make a connection in Canada, go back to Houston, California, Little Roe, and Roos. Did you hear Jesus crying in your right ear? He loves you. And He would say, well done. But He doesn't love you because you were kidnapped. You're His child. Would you return to your first love? Would you guard your heart from front sliding? You want it so bad. Take care of your family. You want it so bad. I lead with this. God give us both. All your mind, all your heart. That's going. That's going where we're supposed to go. Real quick, I'll end with a prayer. And this prayer will also be available if you want it. I don't shut down much. I love mission trips because I can work till 2 in the morning and it's regular time back home. So my sabbatical is not social media. I'm in the Word. I got devotional. But sometimes I'm so busy I don't listen. So I got off. And I wrote this. I felt this from Jesus. You can borrow it if it applies. So I took a week off of social media. And just spent a sabbatical, if you will. And Jesus spoke this to me. From Jesus. Thank you for taking time with me.

So they're adding... See this part here? They're adding behind this. They're going to add so much more. But this is the back of the church. I think we're the last ones out here. Terry couldn't come because he was in the Throats of Parkinson's. And she's driving. It's a one-way street in downtown Fresno. Fresno is a mess. It was just dilapidated. And she pulls up in front of this old Victorian house that's leaning. And she parks. It's a one-way street. Cars are honking. And she's in her 80s. She doesn't really care less. I'm like, we're going to die. And she takes her hand, and she points. She says, Rob, that's where I grew up. My father survived the Holocaust, and he came here as a young boy. And that's where my family grew up. It was a two-bedroom home. And she said, in that front window right there, my dad would take his paycheck and be in cash. Not his check, but he would take his pay, and it was in cash. And he'd have all the kids come out. There would be envelopes laid out for all the bills. And he would take the money, and he'd show us all. And he'd take the tithe, and he'd put that in the envelope first.
And then he'd go down and put the rest in each of the folders. And then we would pray over it. And she said, I grew up knowing that you're supposed to give to the Lord first. And so when Harry wanted to marry me, he wouldn't believe her. And maybe it was wrong, but I love him. And I said, Harry, I'll marry you on one condition. That you tithe. And he said, I'll do that for you. And Harry ended up after World War II, and he'd been a semi-professional baseball player. And after World War II, he'd taken all the World War II surpluses.
