We are in the Sierra Nevada. We're going to be hitting Truckee and then Reno pretty soon, but we wanted to start the video off... By saying hello. ...saying hola. Hola. I have a feeling this is going to be the best road trip out of all road trips, and it's going to be amazing. ♪♪ We're doing it, babe. Yeah. Jesus was here to come into the kitchen. It's way over here on this side. ♪♪ So, I mean, our thing is that we know

that Jesus is always with us. ♪♪ Um... ♪♪ So, it's beautiful here, guys. It's 84 degrees back in the valley. We left. It was... 108. 108. It was bad. Yeah. Oh, praise report yesterday. So, many of you know of baby Mateo, the greatest evangelist who ever walked this earth. Yes, baby Mateo. His mom and dad, Anthony and Amanda. Wait, wait. Do you know that they've been together ever since, since high school, since... Yeah, they were 14. 14 years old. They met when they were 14. Yeah. Well, I had the honor of officiating their marriage yesterday, so me and Sharon went to Amanda's grandma's, which was in the mountains just like this, in what was it, like a few acres, huh? Yeah. And a beautiful outdoor wedding and... Very small, just their little family.

Yeah, just their family and us, and they exchanged vows, exchanged rings. It was beautiful. Five kids later. Yeah. And it was a bittersweet moment because, you know, they mentioned Mateo, of course, and the rest of the family mentioned Mateo. We know he was watching from heaven. He was probably telling all the angels, look it, look it, my mommy and daddy got married. Yeah, so it was a really nice, beautiful moment. Those are the... Guys, those are the rewards of pastoring, you know? When you see just families and marriages, it's just a beautiful thing, guys. Even celebrations of lives are celebrations, man, because they're on their way to go be in the presence of the Lord, man. Yeah. It's just beautiful. Everything's beautiful, man. Yeah. So we don't wanna make this video too long because there's gonna be a lot of footage, guys. For the next few days, we're gonna see what we can get into, show you guys as much as we possibly can. You'll get to meet Sharon's sister, finally. Yeah.

And we brought some letters so that we can do some reading while we're here, and maybe we'll just get a chance to record from there. Who knows? I brought my tripod. city and I almost said Reno California but Reno Nevada so that's the downtown where all the hotels and casinos are at and so we are officially now in the state of Nevada I know we did that road trip last time I remember and showed him downtown I think at night yeah yeah so this is it but we're not stopping guys we're just passing through just passing through Reno Nevada Sharon's making a video for her sister you know what I'm gonna stop at this Walgreens why do you gotta scare me like that with your crazy driving I didn't know if I hit the brakes too hard yeah I'm gonna go flying out like Superman yeah like Superwoman so guys as I'm driving I'm my laptops open and I'm trying to upload the Sunday service for you guys well you would have already had it done yeah but the files were corrupt right yes you have to redo it so I got my laptop open right here so I'm pulling over here because I'm sure this fast internet here because once I get in a desert I won't be able to upload it for you guys so I'm gonna park here for a couple minutes that way you can get it downloaded or uploaded for you guys but anyways we are here in Reno this is the exit for downtown so anyways guys God bless you and we'll keep showing you as we drive so right now we are past Reno and just driving through it looks like it's sort of desert sort of and dry but we are in Nevada still got quite a few hours just driving through I know many of you just appreciate just seeing the roads and freeways and for those of you that I always address the those of you that only watch our road trips and that's okay you know but I will plead with you is that if you like our road trips give our videos a chance you know check a Bible study out or a podcast or a Sunday service you know and we would just really appreciate that because we do this for you guys showing you this and I know it helps you get away for a little bit and see something different and that's all we ask in return you know and maybe just maybe the Lord will touch your heart or you'll be inspired inspired for for the Lord you

know because ultimately that's that's our main objective here is just to introduce you to Christ that's all you know and for another reason then it's the greatest thing that ever happened in my life guys and I'm pretty sure Sharon will say the same best thing that ever happened to her life know and so this is like a little town here I'm gonna make my I have all these little crystallite drinks guys I'm gonna put in my water what do you think Sharon? Sure. Greatest thing ever happen to you? Christ? Absolutely. Not just the greatest but the only thing I mean that could have ever happened to me. That's why we do what we do. He is life. So we're stopping at a truck stop real quick. I don't need gas because I'm just gonna put my little crystallite drink. I have ice water here. I got tired of drinking water so I'm gonna add some flavor to it. This is a pilot which is they're all over the place. No truck stops. There's no shade so I guess I'll just. Well since you're here I might as well. Oh there's shade like right there. Well keep talking to them. Well I'm gonna get off and make my drink. Look at the wind these guys. You can make your drink while you're talking to them. It's in the trunk. No. They'll just hear a bunch of noise. So anyways we're still stopping we're here stopping at this truck stop and I'll just keep showing you stuff and hopefully like I said you'll watch a Bible study or sermon or a podcast. All right. Hey guys real quick we're still here in Highway 80 in Nevada and I saw this sign that said like a historic California Trail. So I asked Google what that meant. So this was the way where people came out west into California and if any of you are Mark Twain fans in 1860 Mark Twain traveled through here before there was a freeway when he went to Nevada and eventually California. And it's he documents it in his book called Roughing It where he actually talks about the trip he made from the East Coast all the way through all of the states apparently through this California Trail right here. And he ended up living in what's that Virginia City right? Virginia City. That's where he took the pen name Mark Twain because that wasn't his name given to my birth. He worked there at the newspaper and then eventually went to California. So

I'll let you hear yourself watch. Hey Google can you explain Mark Twain on this California 80 route? Mark Twain spent several years prospecting for silver and working as a journalist in Nevada and California along what is now the interstate 80 corridor. During the 1860s he tried his luck mining in Unionville, Nevada which sits just south of I-80 and later recounted his adventures over the Sierra Nevada mountains through Donner Pass in his book Roughing It. Yeah so just wanted to give you a little bit of history. Can you imagine going through this land right here on a stagecoach? A stagecoach right? Is that what they're called? On a stagecoach guys. Wow that must have been. So he paints an amazing picture the book Roughing It as he talks about his travels and for me it's a must-read. So I just wanted to share that with you guys real quick as we just going through here. Bye. We stopped at Winnemucca, Nevada. It's a little town. I don't know how little or big it is, but they have a Walmart, they have a boot barn. This is a Flying J truck stop, and there's a McDonald's there, let's see, there's a McDonald's. So anyways, stopped real quick to use the facilities and we're going to get right back on. All right. Well guys, we are still driving. We left Winnemucca. Winnemucca, and we're coming into Carlin. This is Battle Mountain. Oh, Battle Mountain. We're in Battle Mountain now, but we're 40 miles away from Carlin. Carlin? Yes, Carlin. Yeah, so you can tell the sun's going down. We still got four hours.

Look how beautiful those mountains though. I know, right? Yeah. Love it. Love it. Love it. You know, I say this in the videos where, especially I think, we were driving to Arizona and I said, I forgot where we were, which one, but I said, it's weird how people say that we're overpopulated. And it makes me think people that say that are probably living like in Manhattan or downtown LA. Yeah. Or San Francisco. Yeah. Because like, what do you mean overpopulated? Look at all this. So much land. It's just land beyond land beyond land. So how can it be overpopulated? But I just wanted to make sure I film a little bit. I'll still film when it gets dark, but now that we're losing light, I just wanted to show a little bit of these mountain range. Just let it play for a little bit. Huh? Let it play for a little bit. It's so pretty just going down towards these mountains. You know what? One interesting thing that we noticed a pattern, guys, is that the towns are almost exactly 40 minutes apart. Like we went to Reno and then Fernley was 40 miles away, 40 miles away and then Fernley

to Lovelock, 40 miles away, 40 miles, no, 40 minutes, 40 minutes, and then Lovelock to Winnemucca. I'm learning all these names. Yeah, about 40 minutes away. And then Winnemucca to Battle Mountain was 40 minutes. And Carlin, how far did they say it was? 40. Really? Interesting. I wonder if that's coincidence or on purpose though. So it's not so lonely out here? Yeah, that's because that's, that would be a weird coincidence. I think it's to keep people at least close enough to civilization, you know? Hospitals, schools. Hospitals, schools. Yeah, all that. Makes sense, right? Yeah. Stores, stores, anything. Even logistically. Even getting transport and exports, like it just makes sense, I guess. I mean, how far can you be where there's no gas stations? I mean, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.

I wonder, when they were doing the civil engineering for all this stuff and everything, that was part of what needed to be done. You know? Like, I always thought towns just kind of, maybe some organically happened because maybe it's next to a beach or a river or a lake. Or like you said, would you say civil engineering? Yeah. Because civil engineering, you know, they have to go and do the readings of the land and they have to do the topography and they have to do all of that. And you know, I just wonder if that's part of what they have to do, you know? And they say, well, listen, every so often we have to... Have to have some type of We need to make sure that we have You know Stores, we need to have resource resources for you know the families because how will they survive if there's any type of? any type of Anything that happens, you know or just you know, they need to have food they need to How will they survive out here, well, you know, it makes sense because this is a major corridor from Northern, California to Nevada

You're talking about, Idaho, Wyoming then there has to be jobs For the certain type of population too, you know, yeah, I feel like it's planned Because exactly 40 minutes away from each other See that bike guys on the back of that car is making me jealous because I don't have my bike with me. I Know you you did a really really long ride before coming though. Yeah yesterday. I did 20 You did 22 miles 24 and a 24 and a half. There you go. I Just looked at you when you were at 22. Yeah. Yeah, I just realized guys you guys are gonna get a back-to-back road trip because next weekend We're riding Lake Tahoe I'm gonna do a bike ride. Well, they're also gonna go with us They're gonna be able to maybe at least see the worship and everything from when we go to our meeting, right? I think we should Yeah, cuz we have a Grace International District meeting on Friday, that's why we got to get back from Utah Thursday and Friday morning. We have a grace meeting and then Saturday morning We're going to Lake Tahoe to do a 22 mile bike ride Now you might think you're going all the way to Lake Tahoe just to do 22 miles But we're talking Lake Tahoe miles Lake Tahoe is not flat So this guy is weaving See that yeah, well you better pass him up fast. Yeah, but I don't like the way he's weaving that trailer I passed him That's like the second truck we've seen weaving really bad It's actually peaceful, you know, I still can't stop imagining stagecoaches going through here in the 1800s This is all dirt back then Yeah, so magic I mean the stage is clean and Clean and secure also

What if they were 40 miles is a lot when you're on horseback You can only go so far before you had a water your horses and let your horses rest and you had to eat sleep And what are those little those were little watering? What do you call them? The little watering holes or like I'm curious, you know, hey Google How long does it take for a horse to travel 40 miles It typically takes a horse about five to eight hours to travel 40 miles at a steady trail pace If a horse is walking at an average speed of four miles per hour The journey takes around 10 hours of moving time at a faster trot or endurance pace of seven to eight miles per hour It can be done in roughly five to six hours However, these estimates do not include the necessary rest hydration and feeding breaks required to keep the horse safe and healthy So I wonder if that's in the do it because I should have asked this. Hey Google How long did it take a stagecoach to travel 40 miles It Typically took a stagecoach about four to eight hours to travel 40 miles Depending on the terrain and weather most stagecoaches averaged around five to eight miles per hour and teams of horses were usually swapped out every 10 To 15 miles to maintain that pace if the road was muddy or mountainous the trip could easily take much longer That makes sense The horses had a rest that people had a rest so they would travel by day You had to So you're doing 40 mile increments and this is a lot of this It's full of snow sometimes, even when you have snow and everything. Construction on Interstate 80 in Nevada took place in stages throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with the entire highway finally completed as a continuous freeway in 1982. Hey, Google, before Highway 80, how would somebody go from Salt Lake City to Northern California? Before Interstate 80 was built, drivers used U.S. Route 40 to travel between Salt Lake City and Northern California. U.S. 40 followed a very similar path across Nevada and over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, though it was a smaller two lane highway with more twists and turns. Turn of the century travelers also used the old Victory Highway

or rode the Southern Pacific Railroad along that same general corridor. Wow. So before the 60s, they had to take like a little road. What did they transport? What was transported? Was it by train or what was it? What's that? They had. Well, the train's been here for a long time. Yeah. But what was transported? Was it food, gold? What was it? I'm sure everything. Hey, Google. The railroad that goes by I-80 between Salt Lake City, California. What things were transported in the late 1800s? In the late 1800s, that railroad primarily transported silver and gold ore, timber, livestock, grain and manufactured goods between the east and west. The route, originally part of the first transcontinental railroad, was crucial for moving Nevada's mining wealth and California's agricultural products to eastern markets. While bringing machinery and settlers out west. Wow. So they were bringing stuff from the east that we needed on the west and things that we had in the west, like the gold and silver, they were sending it back. Because remember, silver was over here in Virginia City. Yeah. That's what made Virginia City grow because of silver. Good stuff. Here's the. We'll start there While you guys are looking for that Pastor David was telling me about where we can start or what we can do we could either start off where he left off last week or He gave me the free will to be able to go ahead and give a lesson and I said why would I defer from what? He's already doing Who's who here by a round of applause is so grateful that pastor? David takes time to be able to have this right here And Very good. Let me tell you something I've been to a lot of places and I'm pretty sure pastor L can say this as well I've been to a lot of places and there is not too many places. I would say very less than more Places that take time where the pastor takes time to spend time with this congregation and to be able to go over the word Not only go over the word but to go over it verse by verse You don't understand how blessed you are and I trust me I speak for myself as well I'm very very blessed that I get to sit under this authority and We get to learn the word and you know pastor David has shared many a times about how you can stop him to talk about Jesus at any time He will always stop to talk to you about Jesus. So everybody there at Corinthians 2nd Corinthians 14 now the other thing is to before I want it before I get started is I know Pastor David is very much about the Bible who gots their Bibles in here

Who gots the the paperbacks? All right, cool. I don't Because I know that that he he goes through the ESV and then he also does the message. So I carry around the new King James. So that would have really thrown some stuff off. So anyways, I'm going to be here on the digital. Don't judge me. And if you do, I whatever. OK, let's get into it. We're going to we're going to go through verses 14 through 18, OK? So we're going to start off with the ESV. It says, do not be unequally yoked. With believers, do not be unequally yoked with believers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? Verse 16, what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them. And I will be their God and they shall be my people. Therefore, go out from their midst and be separate from them, says the Lord and touch no unclean thing. Then I will welcome you. I will be a father to you and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. That's absolutely amazing. Absolutely amazing. We're going to go over the message. Don't become partners with those who reject God.

How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That's not partnership. That's war. Is light best friends with the dark? Does Christ go strolling with the devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands? Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God's holy temple? But that is exactly what we are. Each of us, a temple in whom God lives. God himself put it this way. I'll live in them, move into them. I'll be their God and they'll be my people. So leave the corruption and the compromise. Leave it for good, says God. Don't leak. Don't link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself. I'll be a father to you. You'll be sons and daughters to me. The word of the master God. That's absolutely amazing. Before I even get into verse 14, that is so amazing because he is telling us. Exactly what he wants. There is no question here. We don't need to question what the word is saying. When you read multiple versions of these 14 through 18, these four verses, you will see the same confirmation over again. Do this. Then I will welcome you. Do this. Then I will be your father. I don't know about you, but that's absolutely amazing. You know what I mean?

Where I am looking at him. OK, let's get into this. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness or what fellowship has light with darkness. Now, this is the unequally yoked part, right? So it says, do not one of the one of the places that I look into. I was reading today as I was studying this and it was saying, don't fall into the affinity. OK, so in case you guys don't know what affinity is, because I know I didn't know that word. So I looked it up and it says affinity is a noun that means a natural liking, attraction or feeling closeness to someone or something often due to shared qualities or interest. Right. So the one example is is like this is saying, be careful who you are around, don't because you guys have something in common. OK, Gerald. Gerald in Bridge five, nine, six, three, we thank you so very much. Don't be in don't because you have something in interest. We'll take football, for example. OK, so a lot of people will go hang out with other people because they like the same football team. But on Sunday. Right, you'll be in church. And you'll be worshiping God. But then later in the afternoon, you're at the bar. Whether you're drinking or you're not drinking, what does that say about you? And unfortunately, in this world, people judge and it's going to be what it's going to be. And what's really crazy is when we call ourselves Christians,

you put a title on you that's very, very important. And to walk in Christianity is to walk away from what the world is doing, whether they're your friends, whether they're your family, it does not matter. It says, do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Most of the time that we are around some people who are at a bar, hey man, again, you say I'm judging, you say whatever you want, but most of them, at least with the people I know I can speak of, those are not followers of Christ. So does it mean that I can't be friends with them, kinda, kinda. That's what really trips out people. Because when people say, AOT man, what's up bro, how come you've been around? Because man, we ain't got nothing in common too much, bro. I'm not smoking nothing. I'm not drinking nothing. I love football. Come over to my house. Yeah, but I can't drink, it's your pad. Okay then. See the difference? That's the unevenly yoked. Now, it says, do not become partners with those in the message. It says, do not become partners with those who reject God. What does the Bible say about rejecting God? God plainly says, Jesus himself says, if you are not for me, then what? There it is. See what I'm saying? So right here, Paul is writing about do not be unequally yoked. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Then he goes ahead and gives you examples. Because he wants to make sure that Paul's writing was very, very clear. Again, you don't need to question this.

If you are questioning this, you're trying to justify your sin. Straight up. There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I think it's very, very crazy. I don't believe in coincidences, but I think it's very ironic that Pastor David chose me on this day. Because man, dude, there is nothing I need to teach. I can read this, and we're done. And if you want to go ahead and try to like, oh, let's break this down, then you know what? You're looking for justification. Whenever that's so plain and simple, and you're still trying to break it down, you're trying to justify what you're doing. Straight up. It says, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Let me read off some of my notes. This is also talking about friendships and acquaintances. Unbelieving people. Okay, we went over that, right? Be careful who you're around. You can call them friends, but that doesn't mean nothing. Because they can corrupt you because of what you had in common. There was this one man, I've been very blessed to be able to mentor a few people, and criminals, for example, right? Ex-drug addicts, ex-cons, and stuff like that, okay? Such a blessing in my life. And I told one guy, I said, let's look at the people that you surrounded yourself with before. Now, for us that grew up in the neighborhoods, and grew up in the street life, and stuff like that, and you ran with somebody, whatever it may be, doesn't matter, you had to do something to be allowed to be part of that group.

Do people know what I'm talking about? You had to put what we called in the streets, work, okay? You had to put work in, and look at the work you had to go and do. And that was to be their friend. And he looked at me, and he was just like, what? And I said, you didn't do nothing? He was like, yeah, I did some dirt. And I said, okay, cool. I said, what do you need to do in this place? And he looked at me, he's all, well, I need to love Jesus. I said, wow, do you still want to go around your old friends? That's what he's telling you here. Pay attention to what you need to do to hang around those people. Because as soon as I got delivered, God took away the dope, he took away the drugs, and he took away the gangs, and he took away the alcohol. And then all of those people that I had that in common with, they went with it. It sucks in the very beginning, but the pruning is just like a flower, right? You got to prune those things, and things need to come off for it to grow up to be the most beautiful flower that you've seen. Whether you're a macho machismo man or what, in God's eyes, you're a beautiful flower. It is what it's going to be. He says, does righteousness, okay, now a lot of people hear this verse, and they think of marriage, okay? So you can look at that as well. You can look at this as an uneven yoke in marriage. We've had that. I've been very blessed to sit in front of marriages and counsel them, again, a blessing. And the reason why I say that is because this is what has come to us. People don't know the word, but when they don't get along with their spouses, they bring this verse, oh, we're unevenly yoked.

And I'm like, really? Do you believe in Jesus? He said, yeah. Do you believe in Jesus? She said, yes. I said, don't sound uneven to me. Maybe you need to give up about who's right and learn to get along. So when you look at this for the marriages that might be wanting to use this verse to blame people, remember this is, it's what I call the Adam syndrome, right? When you're wanting to go into the Adam syndrome, remember this. Now the best way that I can explain this is two different religions. When we look at the Old Testament, we have to realize some of the wonderful, powerful men were taken down because of the uneven yokes with women. When we look at somebody like Samson, what took him down? A Philistine woman, uneven yoke. It's not the women, okay, let me just clarify this. I'm not blaming the women at this moment, but I'm saying the uneven yoke, okay? We look at, it's just, it's a lot. Go look at the Old Testament, and we find out about how God says, you can have this, don't be with these women. Why? Because they will turn you to their God. And when you look at the Old Testament, sure as can be. Let me give you guys a shocker of the Old Testament. God was correct. That is shocking, I know, to some people. But the thing about it is, that's the uneven yoke in the marriage. So when people, in case marriages are in, you're trying to use that verse, this is what it's talking about. It's the best thing I can, is it exactly?

Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever, okay? So the thing about it is, is that we need to understand Belial. I was like, wait a minute, that sounds very, very familiar to me. But I couldn't really pinpoint it, so I had to look it up. Belial is a proper name for a specific demon or devil, okay? So the uneven yoke that Paul is talking about, he goes ahead and uses this as an example. Again, he is saying, what accord does Christ and a devil have in common? That is what you are looking at when you're around some of these people. I think it's just so wild, man. He says right here, in the message, it says, does Christ go strolling with the devil? I think that's such a picture, you know what I mean? Imagine just walking up and just seeing Christ and a devil together. You won't. It's oil and water. It will not mix. And I think it's just absolutely amazing. Or what portion does an unbeliever share with an unbeliever? What portion does an unbeliever share? Does trust and mistrust hold hands? Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God's holy temple?

It's crazy because this is what it says next in the message. It says, but that is exactly what we are. So Mickey and myself, Mickey is my wife, in case some of you don't know that. Mickey and myself were just talking about a few things whenever we came in here. And again, I think it's wild. And we were saying, well, I remember whenever I first got delivered, and my walk started, and I was so excited. And I just wanted to go out and evangelize. And I wanted to go and talk to everybody. And I wanted to tell people about who Jesus was and what Jesus was doing in my life. And I wanted to go all around the worldly folks. I wanted to go over to all my old homies and go hang out with them while they were drinking. So I don't drink, and I can show them about how Jesus is taking over my life. And then my pastor at the time says, why would you do such a thing? I said, because Jesus is so powerful, man. I got to let everybody know. He says, yeah, but what if the temptation overcomes you? I said, no way. It can't happen. And then he reminded me of Judas. And I said, oh. And then I thought about it at that moment and said, you know what? I'm not prepared for this. And I've never forgot that to this day, as a matter of fact, because I know my place where I should be. If I'm standing in front of somebody, I'm ordered to be there. I don't voluntarily go into bars.

I don't have temptation of alcohol anymore. All glory to God. I take none. None of it. I haven't quit drinking, I stopped drinking. There's a difference. And in case you guys don't know, this is my theory. When you quit something, you're in control of it. So you have an opportunity in the mind to backslide. When you stop drinking, or when you stop something, God took that over. And so you know what? I don't pay attention to all the years I have behind me, I focus on today. God, today, let me be this man that you have created. And that's how I look at it. So I haven't quit. People are like, what do you mean? So you haven't drank so long? Yeah, I stopped drinking. There's a difference in the wording, and there's a reason why it's called the word of God. Okay, what portion does he have? But he says right here, what pagans, who would think about setting up pagan idols in God's holy temple? But that is exactly who we are. We go out there, we take certain things. I remember for a long time, I known some people over the years,

I know people who are still burning those candles that they buy at the supermarket with the Virgin Mary on there. Anybody in here know anybody? You ain't got to show hands. Does anybody know anybody who still does that? That's idolism. Sorry to tell you, that's exactly what it is. When you put a shine of the Guadalupe, hey man, especially in this culture, you can walk in almost every single old school mom's house and see that. And you know what it is? Hey, I got my own mom to deal with, so I'm not trying to deal with anybody else's mom. But the thing about it is, that is kinda can be an unbeliever. That can be idolism. That can be something that is taking you away because you believe in the candle. You believe in the Virgin Mary. You believe in that more. You believe in, what's the one, dude? What's the one my mom always likes? Yeah, I know that. No, the healer. Something with a J. Is that who it is? Yeah. Okay, well him.

Yeah. So anyways, man, that's what ends up happening. That's you putting, remember, who is the temple? Let me hear you guys. Who is the temple today? You are. You are the temple. So when you put those things in your life, those are putting into the temple. This is what it's saying. Who would put pagan idols in God's holy temple? But that is exactly who you are. Okay, let's move forward. 16, I'm trying to get through this. Okay, where are we at? Oh my God, I'm over here rambling. My bad, I apologize. Verse 16, what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God has said. I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them and I will be their God and they shall be my people. Um, I don't know about you, but to me, this is a commandment. Oh no, that's 17. Listen to the examples. My bad, I apologize. It says, listen to the examples that it gives in the message version. It says, it says, where are we at? Where are we at?

Mistrust and holding hands, God strolling with the devil and the temple, that's what goes on with here. Paul takes from, where are we at? 16, Paul takes from different places of the Old Testament, such as Leviticus, Ezekiel and Exodus and puts it together and quotes God. So this quote right here, when it says that God said, these are from different parts of the Old Testament. See what happens when you take from old? So you gotta understand Paul, right? I'm sure that Pastor David has already explained to you who Paul is and how fire and amazing his mind is and when he wrote this. And the thing about it is, is he took from different parts and quoted God in all of it. And it says, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them and I will be their God and they shall be my people. It says that right here, it says, so leave the corruption and compromise, leave it for good. No matter how powerful you are in your walk with Christ that you think you are, and no matter how long you've been doing this, Don't ever think that you're gonna go out into this world and change the whole thing. You're walking into corruption, you're outnumbered, okay? And that's how it is. When we go there, we go there in packs. That's what Jesus showed us. Leave whatever you think is part of this world

that is still that you think is cool, that is part of that world, leave it for good. Leave the compromise. What did I say? That if you are looking at certain things and trying to break this down, you are justifying. Leave the justification for the world. If you gotta justify something, it's wrong. Does everybody agree on that? If you have to look at yourself and constantly be telling yourself, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay, it's probably not okay. I'm just saying. And you know what, one of the main things is, I've been doing this for a while, and one of the main things is, I still do it. Leave it behind, don't look at this. What you do is you get together with people, you go out there, you spend your time out there, and then you come back. And then you pray together to cleanse yourself and wash whatever tried to jump on you off. Okay, man, bugs stick to armor too. Just because you're armored up, that's what protected you out there. But you can't go back into your home with that armor on because it's dirty. When we watch 300, he took off his armor before he walked in his house. When you watch Gladiator, he took off his armor

before he walked into his house. Understand the picture I'm trying to give here, okay? But he said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them. You know who has that? Adam. You know who screwed that up? Adam, yes. Adam screwed that up. He said that I will walk among them. How do you feel right now? Think about this question. Please don't answer me. But think about it. Is he dwelling among you? Is he walking among you? Do you feel that? And if you don't, then maybe this could be some uneven yoke that is still around you. It could still be some corruption and some compromise that is still affecting you. One of the greatest things that I've learned in this walk is to be honest with myself. It took me a long time. It took me probably about five years to do that. I lied to myself, justified myself in my marriage, in my walk, as a father, numerous of places. Raven, we thank you so very much for your super chat. Verse 17, therefore, go out from their midst and be separate from them, says the Lord,

and touch no unclean thing, then I will welcome you. I don't know about you. This is what I was reading earlier. I don't know about you, but to me, this is a commandment. He has told us to separate. In the Old Testament, it talked very much about the unclean, and he says right here, do not touch it, then he will welcome you. Separate yourself. What does it say over here? Don't link up with those who will pollute you. Oh my God, that's crazy. Ooh, man, dude, he said you stank. He says people around you have a stench. He said that when you jump into sewer water, that's what you smell like, and when you're around your peeps, that's what you smell like, sewer water. Anybody smell the sewer over there by Dryden Golf Course over there on the west side? That's horrible. When you're part of that corruption out there, that's what you smell like. Ooh, boy, that's crazy. It says do not, it says, in the message version, it says do not link up with those who pollute you. George Lewis, thank you so very much. In the message version, it says do not link up with those who will pollute you. I used to tell marriages, remember I told you,

we used to talk to marriages a lot, tell marriages with the people you are around, they can do one of two things. They can either infect you or they can affect you. Okay? But it's always our choice of who we. want to be around. Now, the thing about it is, is when you're around somebody who is part of that world out there, some of this uneven yoke, the unbeliever, the darkness, the people who are lost in the darkness, right? You're supposed to pull them to the light. You're not supposed to go into the darkness. You're supposed to go in there. But when you get far enough into that darkness, man, you know, even Indiana Jones's torch went out. You know what I mean? If maybe that's over some of these people's heads, but my bad, sorry, forget the crowd. Um, but a light can burn out. Oil can stop. They used to carry member. There's a, there's a parable, right? Pastor, where there's a 10 women and five of them have, they have their lanterns and they carried extra oil. So in case it turned out, right? But then the other five, correct me if I'm wrong, pastor, the other five, they didn't have no extra oil. And so they burnt out. That's what happens when you go into this world. You can get burnt out by this corruption. See what I'm saying? It's all there. It's all in the word. Paul is giving us the confirmation and the commandment that God is giving him to tell us. He is saying that these people will pollute you. They will either infect you, meaning that they will give you some type of virus, some type of disease. They will give you Sandra Vargas. Thank you so very much. They will infect you and give you that pollution. They will go ahead. It's like them. I have people who trip out on me. Um, I know my children, they, they always trip out. They're like, yeah, that's just my dad nowadays. He does that. But I shake homeless people's hands. And I've heard so many times that that's gross. Anybody in here by the show of hands, be honest. Do you think that's gross? Okay. I think there's more people, but whatever. My wife, my wife over here is like, yeah, that's hella gross. And then I try to go and hug her. Um, but the thing about it is, is I, I, I don't know if I would want to hug them. And when we are walking with these uneven yoked, the darkness people, the people of this world, the ones

who are lost in it, the ones who are watching you fit in with them instead of the other way around, that's what you're doing. You're hugging them. And then what they do is they pollute you with their stench. So then when you leave, that's what people smell. It's uneven yoked and pay attention to the people that you're around. It's very, very key. Remember they will either infect you or they will affect you. Yes, sir. Very good. Um, right here. Very good. It says, right. Pastor says that God made us. Pastor L says that God made us to stand out, not to fit in. We all agree on that. That's very good because right here it says be separate from them. We have to separate. Ask yourself this. When you go out, I go golfing with some of my old friends. I have no problem with it. I'm going to go out there and I'm going to be who I am and they're going to be who they are. And they're still my friends, man. I don't, I don't, I'm not high and mighty, man. Sometimes I am. And then Mickey swipes me from the legs. She swipes the feet and then I fall down. You know what I mean? So it's very, very good. Kicks the horse, you know what I mean? And I'm knocked off and it's very good that she does that for me, but I go golfing with them. But the thing about it is, is my con, my language doesn't change from right here with my boys. So T what you've been up to, man, dude, God is amazing. This and that, whatever we're sitting around after golfing, they're cussing up a storm. They're doing their thing. They're being who they are. And the thing about it is, is like, I'm right there saying, you know what, man? Yeah, dude, that's crazy, man. You know, God is absolutely man. Praise God for your misery. Hey man, God is amazing. God is absolutely fire while you're dealing with that divorce. God is, God is the one that's for you, man, not against you. And some of my friends have told me like, bro, I don't even like being around you anymore because I'm trying to be miserable and you just find joy in everything. I'm like, man, that's pretty late. Thanks, man. Appreciate that. Praise God. Yeah. No, there you go again, man. So uneven yoked. I got no problem with being around him. I just make sure I don't flip the script unless I'm literally flipping. I want to be Him everywhere I go. That's my mission. I don't want to just talk about Him. I want to live what He has called me to do.

It says in 18, and I will be a father to you and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. I know I've always, I love it when people ask me about who God is. I always tell, or like, who am I? I tell them I'm a child of God. There's no question about it. What is God to me? God is my father. He is everything. He is my defender. He is my healer. He is my physician. Lord, I have a toothache. Lord, be my physician. And Lord, please take it over. So, I mean, I think that's absolutely amazing that He allows us to be His sons and daughters. And if you don't grasp that type of knowledge, you should really fall onto your knees, in your closet, restroom, wherever it may be, and thank Him that He calls you that. Let's start off with chapter seven. Chapter seven, moving forward. Verse one. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bring holiness to completion

in the fear of God. The message says, with promises like this to pull us on, dear friends, let's make a clean break with everything that defiles and distracts us, both within and without. Let's make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God. I love the way the message puts that, because you know what, He's telling you again, let's break away from everything that defiles us. What He's doing is He's confirming what He said over in 14 through 18. He's telling you to go away from the things that will pollute you. One of the devil's biggest tools, I don't like calling him the devil, I apologize for that, please forgive me. One of Lucifer's biggest tools is busy. You know why? Because it distracts you. Because if you can be busy enough, you don't have time for the word. If you can be busy enough, you don't have time for prayer. That's ironic, because you can do all the prayer in here, no words even need to be said. A simple thank you, Jesus, is a prayer. And let me tell you, that's a powerful prayer. Help, Jesus, is a powerful prayer. And people are too busy to do that. Straight up, anybody feel like that?

I don't need a show of hands, but anybody feel like that? And the other thing is too, is He loves it. And let me tell you something, most of this busyness that distracts us isn't even productive. It's us running around making ourselves busy. It's empty busyness. And we, just so we can say, hey, how was your day? Oh man, I was busy. Yeah, how productive were you? And then you look at your production and it's just like, man, hardly got anything done today, man, I think I was just sitting around wasting my life, you know what I mean? I think so, that's how I talk to myself, you know, and I'm not saying you're saying that, but whatever, you are, good for you. But distraction, He says break away with everything that defiles and distracts you. Because as soon as He distracts you, you do the rest of the work, both within and without. Let us make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God. Again, He's telling you that you should make all your life about God. This wonderful temple that a lot of us don't take care of. We don't eat good, we don't work out, we don't exercise, we don't do nothing, right? We should make that for God.

We should make that a representation of God. Remember, He's blessing you with this temple. Your heart beats because He's blessing you. What's God's biggest blessing to us? Anybody, say something. What? Breath, absolutely. You know why? Because if you ain't got no breath, you dead. And you need to. be appreciated. So many people are like, oh, I can't wait to get to heaven. I can. I'm still, I love, I heard a pastor a few months ago, last year, as a matter of fact, he almost died. And I was like, yeah, man, you're still here. He was like, yeah. He's all, man, God still has things for me. I said, praise God. And I was like, and we're talking, we're having a wonderful conversation. And he says, you know what, Tino, I'm prepared to go. I'm just not ready. And man, it's changed my life. Changed my life. My perspective of life is so different. I know where I'm headed. There's no doubt in my mind. Do you feel that way? And if you don't, some of this uneven yoke

or some of this distraction is standing in your way. I know where I'm going. I'm very confident in God. Not Tino, because Tino don't deserve nothing God gave me or gives me or is gonna give me and is gonna multiply and multiply over and over and over again. That's how confident in God I am. If God gives me breath, he has purpose for my life. And that's to work for him. Don't be distracted by the dumbness you see. Be hurt. Deal with the pain. But remember one thing, there's a cross that has blood on it and then what happens is you get to overcome it because he rose again. Amen. Verse two, verse two. Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one. Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one. We have corrupted no one. We have taken advantage of no one. I do not say this to condemn you for I said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together. I am acting with great boldness toward you. I have great pride in you. I am filled with comfort in all our affliction.

I am overflowing with joy. Right here says in the message, it says trust us. We've never hurt a soul, never exploited or taken advantage of anyone. Don't think I'm finding fault with you. I told you earlier that I'm with you all the way no matter what. I have in fact the greatest confidence in you. If only you knew how proud I am of you. I am overwhelmed with joy despite all the troubles. Right here he's letting the Corinthians know that what he has told them in these letters that don't look at him like he's blaming them for being bad, for he talks about them very, very highly. It's almost like, how do you say this? It's almost like, Pastor David knows some things about yourself, right? Some ugliness, okay? But when he talks about you to others, he exalts you. He edifies you to the fullest. He talks about the growth. He talks about the humility. He talks about the pain that you're enduring but still how you walk out and evangelize or worship or whatever one of the five ministries that you are in. He goes and edifies you. That's what Paul is saying here. He is going ahead and allowing you to be knowing that this is how God is talking about you. Go ahead, he says to Lucifer about Job.

What about my servant Job? Let me ask you this. Think about this later tonight. Think about this the rest of the night. How confident are you if instead of Job's name, it was your name? How confident are you? That he would go ahead and say, what about my servant? And put your name there. And if you don't know the book of Job, I highly recommend you read that book. But if you do know it, ask yourself that. How confident are you in your walk? Let me tell you, I'm about 70% confident. And that took me to go through some horrible, horrible times in my life recently. The absolute worst tragedy I've ever been through in my life. But I'm getting closer to 100 every single day. Because man, no matter what it is, all I know is that I'm going to get there. I am is a vessel. As a matter of fact, Solomon, the second smartest man to ever touch this planet, right, says that life is but a vapor. Meaning that all I do here is but smoke in the wind. It's not even smoke. Smoke lasts longer than vapor. I think that's crazy.

Let's finish up here. We'll read verse, I think we're gonna finish there at verse four. So let me tell you, think about who you're around. Think about the people you do life with. Think about the people you call friends. Think about the people you call acquaintances. Think about those people and then ask yourself, how are they affecting you with God's love? How are they making you more valuable through Jesus Christ? And vice versa. Because we can have all the greatest intent there is to speak about Jesus, but if they aren't listening, what's the point? There's people out there that you are missing out that are waiting from the blessing of God while you're wasting time talking to these people who want nothing to do with Him. People tell me that I'm wrong for saying this all the time, but I continue to say it. Heaven is not for everybody. And in the moment that you're talking about Jesus, hey man, I don't know if Jesus is meant, I know for myself, let me speak about myself. There's been many a times that I go and I speak to people and you can tell immediately this is deaf ears. Hey man, you know what? You have a great day. Well, that's it?

Yeah, that's it, man. Because I know there's somebody else that He has for me. I remember in the very beginning, I wanted to save everybody and I spoke to everybody. We'd stop at supermarkets, we'd stop at gas stations, we'd stop everywhere. And it would go on and it was just like, man, I wanted to talk to everybody, but it wasn't happening. But I learned about obedience and fear and all that kind of stuff. It's absolutely amazing. But sometimes remember this, sometimes you're just speaking to deaf ears and you're wasting time. And sometimes those people are very unevenly yoked for you to even be around. I know the very hard part, one of the hardest parts about this walk is letting go of family and letting go of friends who you consider family. But man, let me tell you, you either put up with their corruption and be unyoked, unevenly yoked, or you break them off and be obedient to what God's word is telling you. This isn't Tino's word. I'm not giving, I'm just reading what this is telling you. I'm just putting it in my own for the understanding because I don't even know why I told you we could have just read this word and left.

But you know what? Today we get to talk about how God has plans for your life. Remember this, everybody around you doesn't need to be walking with you because what they'll do is they'll walk you right where they're going instead of the other way around. Lord, we thank you so very much for this wonderful day. Lord, we thank you for your word. We thank you for letting us know who we need to break off from, get away from distraction, get away from the busyness, quote unquote, because you know what? We need to be busy with you, busy in prayer, busy with your word. That's what's important. You want a 10th of our life. Let us remember that we need to be able to do that, Lord. Let us not veer away from there, Lord, but to draw nearer to you as you have called us to be next to you. That you told us, Lord God, that if we don't touch the unclean, that if we go away from the distraction, that you will be our father. You will be among us, Lord. You will dwell among us. You will walk among us. Lord, to me, that's absolutely amazing because there's no way I'm doing this life right now, Lord, without you being right next to me.

As a matter of fact, leading me. Lord, let the word that you have given seep into the hearts of everybody here today, Lord God. In Jesus' name, amen. We're gonna go over the prison. We're gonna go over the prison prayers right now, prison ministry request list. And then I'm gonna call my lovely, lovely wife up here to do the prayers for this week. And the reason I pray for that, Lord God, is because in your word, it says that what is in the heart will come out of the mouth. It says, Lord God, that us as human beings merely look at the outside in the appearance, but you, Lord God, look at our heart. So let every one of these people, Lord God, that have called for the prayer requests, you know exactly what they are. So many of them are praying for their mother, Lord God, for healing, for transformation, for to continue walking with you. Lord, overwhelm them, Lord Jesus, in their heart with your presence, the love that only you can give. Let them understand that they have been washed clean, Lord God, because of your blood, Lord, and that they overcome because of you beating the grave, Lord. They are risen and reborn and brand new, Lord God. Like I said, we don't pray for restoration, Lord God, we pray for brand new. You want to give us brand new and what is greater than what we had before, Lord God. Let them start transferring their mind and their perspective, Lord God, over to you.

Let that cross be the greatest thing that they pick up, Lord God. Let every one of these requests that they are looking for, Lord God, be nailed to that cross. Because you know what you told us at that cross, Lord, it is finished. So what we are looking for, let it be done. But at your feet, Lord God, there's an abundance of blessing. Lord, we over we ask for the overwhelming presence of you, Lord, especially these ones that are locked behind the walls, Lord, because they are looking at a crazy reality. But you know what, Lord God, a second with you, Lord, is worth a lifetime. And Lord God, we thank you so very much for this. In Jesus' name, amen. Mickey, if you can come up and finish this off, please. And then we'll close out and then we'll finish up with some worship. How many of you guys got something out of today's lessons? And so I thank you, Lord, for the church finances that you are providing. I thank you that those that are coming, that you're bringing new people to this church to give Lord, but those that are already giving that you're giving them promotions, Lord, that you're giving people that are looking for jobs. You're giving them jobs, that their resume, Father God, and their applications will be at the top, Father God. So as soon as they get that first check, that they would be anxious to come and give to House of Rest, Lord, to come and give to good, good soil, Lord. I thank you, Father God, for the vision that you've given Pastor David and Pastor Sharon, Father God, for this online class, Lord, to build disciples, Father God, and to sharpen people. We need your word, Father God, more than ever. And Lord, that people would have a desire that this own church here, Father God, all the members here would find the importance, Lord, of this online class, Lord. And Lord, the discipleship classes that are going on every week, that we as your children would understand the importance of it and that we would run to sign up, Lord. And the new Bridges program, Lord, that doors would continue to open, Lord. Lead the right people, Father God. You are in control, and we thank you for that. I thank you for the next generation, Lord. I thank you that you're bringing youth leaders to us, Lord. I thank you, Father God, that we have Wednesday night prayer where we can all come together, Lord, and we can all come into agreement with

these things, Lord Jesus. And I thank you, Lord, that every Wednesday night your word is opened. And Lord, that we get to dissect it, Lord, that everything that we hear, Lord Jesus, would be sketched on our hearts, that we would live it out, Father God. And Lord, for the worship team and the worship band, Lord, children's ministries, young adults' ministries, Lord Jesus, there's so many ministries that have a need, Lord. And I know that you're providing for every single one. And so I thank you in advance, Lord. I thank you for our pastors and the entire staff and leadership. It's not easy, Lord, coming up here and speaking and praying. It's not easy. And I know, Lord, that as pastors and leaders of the church, there's a big target on their back. And so, Lord, I pray for protection, Lord, that they're armored up and they're ready for this battle, Lord. And I thank you for their yes. I thank you for Pastor David's yes. I thank you that because of his death, his yes, we get to stand up here, Lord, and we get to pray to you, Father God. And I thank you for his teachings. I he makes it he just makes it so real. And we get to understand it, Lord. And so I thank you for that, Lord. I thank you for House of Rest in Espanol, Lord Jesus. I thank you that the women's program is going to be catering to the Spanish community, Lord. And Lord, I thank you that you always provide every single moment of our lives, Lord, you provide. I was just talking to Raven about someone saying something about finances. And I asked him, was there ever a time that you were hungry? Was there ever a time that you didn't have a home? Was there ever a time that the Lord didn't provide? And when you think hard enough, he was always there. Maybe our choices took us a different way. And so it seemed as though he wasn't providing, but he has always been there. And so, Lord, I thank you for the prayer request for Maribel's mom, Juana, Lord. I don't know what's going on, but you do. And so thank you if it's healing, that you're healing her, Lord.

Lord, I just feel like I need to pray for our hearts, that you would do open heart surgery on us, Lord. That we would understand the importance, Father God, of just allowing you to show us our hearts, Lord. That when we go home tonight and we lay our heads on the pillow, that we say, Lord, show us anything in us that's not of you. Do open heart surgery, Lord. Show me me. Help me to get my flesh, me out of the way, Lord, so I can be all in for you, Lord Jesus. And Lord, it says prayer for family restoration. Just like Tino said, we don't want what was before. We want something brand new. And so, Lord, for all of our families here, Lord, that that you would show us something brand new, Lord, for our prodigal children, Lord Jesus. That, Lord, they would just have a heart sold out for you. Send them other believers, Lord. Loose your angels around them, Lord. And pray for your protection, Lord Jesus, that you would open their eyes, Father God, to see you, Lord. For Katrina, Lord, for healing. She's going through a hip replacement, lots of pain and for strength and guidance, Lord. Lord, your word, I'm reminded in Psalms that David laments. He cries out to you, Lord. Time after time after time. And so we can cry out to you the same way we can lament and we can cry and we can ask questions to you, Lord. But then we can also praise you because we know that you're answering these prayers, Lord. And so I thank you for that. I thank you that you are still God, Lord. I thank you that you are healing Katrina, Lord Jesus. And I thank you, Father God, that in her flesh, when she is weak, that's when you are strong in her. And Lord, for Sophia, she's in this Nirvana program and and looks like going to sober living, Lord. I pray for continued sobriety, Lord, that as long as we stay focused on you and looking at you, Lord, that's that's all we need. You are all we need. And so, Lord, I just thank you. I thank you that we can come together and I thank you that it is finished.
