Let's see, what do you got here? >> He wants you to show your paintings one of these days. >> Yeah, I gotta do that. >> I don't think we can do that, yeah. >> From your page. >> He has a joke. >> Have you ever noticed how some birds like ducks fly in a V formation and how one side of the V is always longer? You know why it's longer? >> Why? >> Because it has more birds in that line. >> Da. [LAUGH] >> All right.
>> You're so funny, Anthony. >> Michaela in Lawrenceville, Georgia, thank you. Got your letter also, your card. >> Thank you. >> And, Siren. >> Like, Siren? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, like that's a, has some jokes. What glass coffin sell well? What glass coffins sell well remains to be seen? >> [LAUGH] >> It remains to be seen. >> When do you stop at green and go on red? When do you stop at green, but you go on red when you're eating watermelon? >> All right, Pedro, we got yours from AZ. >> I skipped over, your little hands are itching me. >> Got yours, second one. Another one you sent from AZ got you, thank you. This is cool. Matthew out of Seminole, look at this. He drew a little elephant, sitting with the baby elephant in the ring. It's really nice.

Barry in Mount Sterling, Illinois. Oh, what do you mean, sales art books? What did I put here? Oh, he sent us a sting where they sell art books and-- and everything's covered at one place that we looked at. Oh, cool, yeah. Yeah, he said that's a resource for that. That sells art books and everything for inmates, which is really cool. I looked it up, actually. Yeah. All right. Continue to watch your sermons or Bible studies. David, out of Akron, Ohio. And why did I write that? I wrote, don't ghost God. Does that make sense? Do you wrote the letter? Let's see what I was talking about, man. Let's see. Let's see. OK. Let's see if I remember why I wrote that. I write these little notes every time I read. I read all these letters when we sit and read. I read them, but she sits with me as I read them. And I'll write little notes. But that one makes no sense to me. I wrote, don't ghost God. OK, we'll read why. I'm trying to figure it out. I don't know why I said that. But hopefully that makes sense to you, brother. I hope that makes sense to you. I have no idea why I said that. OK.
All right, let's see. Michael, out of Corcoran, thank you so much. Got your letter. God bless you. Dustin, out of Indiana. Thank you. Thank you so much for that blessing. Thank you so much. But October 15, man. Nice. October 15, we have a lot of short timers right now. Yeah, that are that are short timing. Yeah. What did he say he was from? >> I'm going to go to the next one.
>> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> I'm going to go to the next one. >> Thank you so much, brother. We appreciate it. Continue to watch us. And I pray that you're able to be edified, built up, and you can learn, you know? >> Amen. >> Charles, Ottawa Park, Texas. We got your bookmarks. You know, thank you so much for that. And appreciate it. And I can't read my own writing. Oh, yeah. I don't know. Did she reach out? Is she going to reach out? >> No. >> No, you checked.
>> I checked. Yeah, I didn't get them. >> That's right. >> Yeah. Let me see. You said that you did all six -- did all six essays. >> We're clearly not in there. >> Yeah. We're waiting for them still because we haven't seen them just yet. So it's probably in one of the newer letters. >> We have other letters here. >> I'm going to put this to the side so that way we can look for it. >> We haven't got it yet. >> Yeah. >> Maybe it's in there. >> Yeah. >> This -- I can't read your name. It sounds like it says mula mula. But I'm probably reading it wrong from Delano. Can you read it? >> Did you look inside? >> No. >> I always look inside, babe. You have to look in. They sent a -- oh, they got pizza hot something. That was cool. >> Yeah, every three months. They get to order something like that. >> Really? >> Yeah.
>> Oh, that's cool. Did you get to do that? >> No, I didn't get to do that. >> No. Okay. I want to see -- I want to look -- because if it only has one name -- oh. Yeah. It's mula. >> Oh. >> Yeah. You're right. >> You're right. >> I said mula mula. >> Mula. >> Okay, babe. Come on. We got like 50,000 other letters to get to. All right. >> That was pretty good. Thank you. I'm glad that you guys get to have that. >> Chad, out of Cranston, Rhode Island, your test score on -- there is no test scores at all. We don't grade them. So he put his pirate name, your sparrow beard. >> That's it. >> Yeah. One thing you said in your letter I never realized was that a lot of states start with the letter M. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to justify myself by not knowing the states because there's a bunch of them to start with
M. >> Yeah, that's true. >> So I get mixed up. >> Another thing, we did announce -- congratulations, we did announce your certificate this last Sunday, which was really cool, and then your pin and everything, but I don't know if there's a family member or you want us to hold on to it because we will hold on to your certificate and your pin. And if there's a family member or a family member you want us to send it to you, so let us know what you want us to do with your certificate, okay? >> Amen. All right. Jason from Cofield Unit. I just want to say that I agree there are many false non-biblical teachers. Matter of fact, we talked about that in today's Bible study an hour ago. Why are so many offended because truth offends? You know, but again, that doesn't -- just because we have truth doesn't mean we can be jerks and obnoxious, and then we offend them because we're not offending them by the word or offending them by our attitude. >> Yeah. >> But it was like that in prison, and let me tell you something. It's like that out here, too, so there's no difference, you know? But thank you. Thank you for writing us. >> I probably offended a whole bunch of people trying to get up here to do our podcast today because we were trying to shut everything down quickly to try to get up here, and I'm sure people got offended because we were in a rush to do that, and we were like, we're shutting it down, guys. >> So, you know, when you flash the lights, it's like, okay, you don't got to go home, but you got to leave here. >> Yeah, I'm like, you know, we got a few hours to get this done, so. >> Yeah. >> See you later.
>> Timothy in Nashville, Tennessee. Amen. I'm glad that you're in your Bible. Just continue to learn. And this is what I always tell people that have life without parole, is that you have a crucial You know, and I always tell people just because you've got life without Doesn't mean you don't serve a purpose or can't find a purpose in the kingdom of God You can literally build people up because they're gonna be sent out to preach the gospel You know, and I truly believe that if they go and reach thousands that those those crowns belong to you, too When you stand in the presence of a holy God So thank you, brother. No He would get mad because he had this big old mustache And he'd have these big old brocha Yeah, and he'd get these pistols and he would shoot And he had little legs and he would fly in the air So that's a personal request I feel like that's what you're going to look like when you get older Like Yosemite Sam Yeah Better the number fud Jesse Dalhart Texas Really, really, really Good letter, man We want to hear from you more Hey, man 2028 is not too far from now I know, that's when he Is eligible for parole So, we're praying the Jesus We're going to pray in the name of Jesus Robert Bigstone Somewhere, I don't know
It's postmark North Carolina So, I don't know where you're at But he says his hillbilly land Um Speaking of hillbilly Speaking of hillbilly Iowa Yeah, but that's really where he's at With the postmark he is It was funny speaking of hillbilly Um, I barely watched Um It's a mini series with Kevin Costner It was good It was the Hatfields and McCoy's It was like a three year Three episode It was like three separate movies Yeah, it was really good And, um, yeah That was pretty awesome, huh? Yeah, I really enjoyed that Yeah, that was cool And, you know, Kevin Costner, I mean, you can't go wrong with him And he always does really well Okay, Orlando In, uh Middleton, Massachusetts And, um Yeah, you brought something up really interesting here
And I want to bring up is You know, a lot of times When we deal with issues Let's say addiction Alcohol, lusting, things like that Um, you deal with those And a part of it is your Is your flesh, right? Because it's the things you desire You know, uh Okay I heard this story one time Where this, um, man was in A give candy to a kid in Africa At this little village And the man that was there said no, don't Give that to him He was like, why? He's a kid Man, I want him to enjoy this chocolate It was a chocolate bar And he, he says You think you're doing him a favor But do you realize there's no chocolate here? And the moment you give him that chocolate He would desire it all his life And he would never have it If he doesn't know what it tastes like He won't desire it Why are you going to torture him? Why do I say that? He, he causes us to
Experience things in our Childhood and our youth Because he knows that if we get a taste of it You will never forget You know, so that's part Is your flesh, your flesh Fights for things and desires Things and whatnot Now, your question was How do you stop if you're trying to serve God and you're trying to do things right Even though we can't blame the devil Well, we could blame for the beginning But ultimately, it's us that wanted, right? Because it's our flesh Now, on top of that There's a demonic oppression That knows The things that you're weak at Knows the things you desire So let's say your flesh desires Let's say there's a dial from one to ten And your normal fleshly desires Are at a three because you're alive You're human But Satan will come and crank that thing up And make it extreme He will turn Less into something ugly Because you know, it's normal
To desire a young man, to desire a young lady That's how people get married, that's how people have kids God said be fruitful, be multiplied, but do it right, you know? So there's a normal What do you call attraction? You know, so I think that a part of it, what you're asking me, part of it is you. The Bible says to fast, the Bible says to ask for direction, the Bible says to break those chains in the name of Jesus, but there's also a demonic oppression that a lot of times you have to tell that demon, because if you're by yourself, if you're in yourself, by yourself, there's no pastors or nothing, you know, you got to ask for deliverance in the name of Jesus. I don't want this anymore. I don't want the spirit of lust anymore or the spirit of addiction or whatever it is you're dealing with in the name of Jesus. I don't want you in me, you know, and it's just the deliverance. You know, I like that you said that because like my grandbaby, my grandson, from an early age, my daughter got him used to drinking water. Yeah. Never drinking any, huh? Drinking water, never drinking like sugary juices, never drinking sodas, never drinking, huh? She's he never drank any of those things. So as he grew up, he never had candies, he never ate bad things. He never got a chance to really eat that stuff. So as he grew up, I remember we would go somewhere and I'd be like, honey, do you want some juice? He'd be like, no, I don't want any. And it's not that he felt like he couldn't. His body just didn't desire any of that. And in him himself, I would see him order vegetables. I would see him order salads, you know, and it's what he loves, actually. And now he's a very, he's a very big athlete right now, has very little fat on him. He takes care of his body and he's only 13 years old going on 14. And he just takes care of himself. But the thing is, is that he doesn't have the desire for any of those things at all. And so, you know, it's because he never, he never had any of those things. So he doesn't have the desire for it. So I think, I think you're absolutely right because if you're don't expose them to certain things, then they won't want it. They don't have the desire for it because they're not introduced to it. So I think it's the thing like exactly what you just said. So my other point is you're like, okay, I hear you, David, but the fact is, I was exposed to it. So now I do desire it. So now what do I do? That's a good valid question, right? Yeah, absolutely. So then I would say this, I'm going to bring the story about I love French vanilla
creamer. People, your daughter would say, that's not good for you. And I'm just like, man, which she has many for the many times too. Man, it's just creamer. It's just creamer with French vanilla flavor, whatever. And I would buy it by the bottles, guys, buy it by the bottles. So I liked it. Well, one day I'm watching YouTube. And, and I clicked on how they make it. I'm talking the regular, you know, like hazelnut creamer, French vanilla, those those creamers. And it was a 15 minute video. And I'll summarize it like this. Those creamers have zero cream in them. You know, cream is dairy. It should be a milk product. There is zero dairy product in there. It is hydrogenated oil. Completely. It is complete oil. It'll clog your arteries, guys. And I could not believe it. And sure enough, I go to the fridge, look at the ingredients. There is nothing that says dairy, milk, cream, nothing. So talk about something I love. I would pour that cream. I like coffee in my creamer, not cream in my coffee. No, you like creamer in your coffee. I just said it right. I'm the guy that likes a little bit of coffee in a lot of creamer. Yeah, that's true. And when I saw that video, okay, now I went somewhere, I think the next day, and they say, hey, you want a coffee and out of habit, I'm like, yeah. And then they poured French vanilla. I'm not gonna lie, man. I got nauseous. It made me sick. And that's the last time I ever touched it. Why am I saying that story is because this, the Bible says to have the mind of Christ, and if something disgusts Christ, it should disgust you. And you need to look at things in the So that's my well, well, you just said you're going to find a solution to to things, you know, so you did find an alternative. Oh, good point, good point. So I started looking at alternatives because I'm like, I'm not going to not drink coffee and I can't stand black coffee, like just pure black, I can't stand it. So I'm like, what am I going to do? How am I going to remedy this? So I started watching videos and finding alternatives. And then I got all excited and I called sharing over because somebody had made their own creamer at home with condensed milk, evaporated milk. Yeah, with different, different stuff, different stuff. So no preservatives, no weird stuff, no oils. So I took it a little bit further and I started finding different, different ways of doing it and I was like, okay, I can use some of those ingredients and I did and I started making kind of like my own. And I said, well, I'll use some of those ingredients and I'll make my own and I'll do it for you. And we haven't had, we haven't had the hydrogenated oil anymore and I make it fresh. And I make them different flavors now and so every week, she makes a jar of creamer and that's what we drink our coffee with. Yeah. And it's so much better guys is so much healthier and I make them different flavors. I use actually real vanilla, real cinnamon sticks. I use real like real vanilla and I use different flavors. If I want to make pumpkin spice, then I actually use real pumpkin puree.
I use real, you know, real stuff and I make it healthier. So yeah, I know that when I was locked up, they did sell the powder creamer, that French vanilla creamer that has hydrogenated oil also somehow they powdered it or whatever. And you're just like, Oh, great, David, now you're telling me I like coffee, but I'm in here. What do I do? I would suggest, honestly, you know, I know that you could get milk powdered milk, get some sugar, I mean, and coffee, honestly, because hydrogenated oil is going to clog up your arteries. You're going to die young. You're going to have a heart attack, you know, and, you know, do what you got to do and because they have the little milk curtains or they are powdered milk. Yeah, there's so many things guys that I've lately I've been doing. I've been making my own pickles. I've been drawing my own pickles. I've been, you know, right now I'm about to draw some peaches. I've been just making a lot of things at home and I've been kind of just really enjoying of making things more natural right now. So, yeah, so there's a natural thing, you know, so again, bringing it back to your subject. Okay, so I'm exposed to things. You're exposed to things. You're exposed to things and but we find out in Christ that it's wrong. So the natural thing to do for like is, okay, I'm going to find a wife and you're going to find a husband and do things right. You know what I mean? Because those desires are there. Those things are there. You're human. It's natural, but you do it right. In the same way, we found the alternative. We're like, okay, this is how to do it without hydrogenate oil. This is how to do it the right way with no preservatives, you know, it's where it's done right and healthy, right? You know, so yeah, man. All righty. Delando Farmington, New Mexico. Appreciate you watching it. Thank you so much. And we see the prayer request for your loved one. Amen. Gustavo and New Jersey, Tom's River in Spanish. God bless you. German or Herman. I don't know how you pronounce your name in Seattle, Washington. And man praying for you. I see that you're fighting your case over the last three years. We're going to put you on their prayer list. Amen. Amen. Daniel, out of Pineville, Kentucky, and had some questions about forgiveness. You know, again, there are things that are suggestive and things that are biblical. One of the hardest thing Jesus asked us to do. Actually, let me rephrase that. One of the hardest things Jesus commands us to do is to forgive. And that is probably the hardest thing. And somebody could say, what do you mean, can't forgive? When somebody's done something horrible to somebody you love, but somebody, of course, it's hard to forgive. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you and tell you it's easy. It is not easy. Is it easy for giving somebody to hurt you? But you got to do it. It's it's not. But the thing is, is that for your for your sake, you know, for your sake. but you know what I did it for my sake. And you know what, here's the thing, to ultimately, we do it for the love of Christ. You do it for them too, because you wanna see our brothers and sisters. You gotta remember, we gotta love people and we wanna see salvation in their lives too. And you know, the Lord says to love our enemy, you know?
And we wanna see, we wanna see them saved, you know? Ultimately, we wanna see people saved. And you know, I know, I know that I know that he was an alcoholic, you know? And I know that the enemy was directing his life and I wanted him to be forgiven, but ultimately it was for my sake and I just wanted to pray salvation over his life and I wanted him to have a chance to be saved. So, yeah. - Okay, Da Kari in, what's MD? - Maryland. - Maryland, thank you so much. And God bless you, thank you for your letter. - Chemono, Pendleton, Indiana. Loves the road trips. - Nice. - You know what's awesome? We love giving the road trips. - Yeah, and we're gonna have another one really soon. - Oh, that's right. - Yes. - We have conference coming up. - Yes, we have conference and then we're gonna go down Highway One, right? - We're gonna go up Highway One, yeah. - Up Highway, up Highway One. - We're gonna go down, but on the way up. - Way up, yes. - Yeah, so you're gonna get a road trip?
- I never know, up or down, so whatever. - Raphael, Louisville. - G-A? - Georgia. - Oh, go ahead. I knew that one. You're asking for a list, the programs in housing, we don't have a list of programs in housing in California. This is a huge state. And I don't even know if we know the programs in our county. - You know what? - What? - I have such a great resource now, so I can probably get a lot of that stuff now. - Maybe, I don't know. - You know what? - This is all because-- - I know I'm not. I'm gonna stay quiet and maybe I'll just do it myself and just not make it a promise fit, I'm gonna try. - All right, I think it says Gilbert, I believe in Kennedy, Texas. - That's a second letter, no? - No, but, okay, I wanna address this to you, brother, and I wanna publicly apologize. So apparently we had said we were gonna send something, and we never did. But then the second time he asked, and you had said, "Oh yeah, go to the website and purchase it." - Yeah.
- But up here, we said we were gonna send it, and he's right, we did say that. So I'm gonna make it right. You heard it from me, you know? So I do remember that. - Okay. - Yeah, so-- - So you remember then, okay. - Yeah, I do remember. So, brother, I just wanna say this. - To where? - His sister. - Okay. - Yeah, so brother, I wanna say this, is that just remember, we're all human. We get busy, we say things, we forget things. Look at, this is-- - Especially me, I see a lot of things. - This is this week's. So, to say, over the last two years that I'm gonna know exactly, yeah. So, but you're writing us, so thank you, continue watching this. Put that to the side though. - I said I was gonna make cheesecakes and do all kinds of things, and I never got to it. - I know. - I hate my kitchen, I'm sorry. - I said I was gonna grow my hair out. - No, I don't hate my kitchen, I hate my stove.
- I said I was gonna grow my hair out in real long, like-- - My hair's growing back again, finally. - Like a biker. - I don't like to cook in my stove, I need a gas stove. - Did you know? - Yes. - I just imagine me with long hair. - You do have a pitcher with long hair though. - Not that long. - One. - When I was in the hole? - Yeah. - All right, Chris, the first seminal floor. - It was crazy when he was in the hole, guys. - Chris, the first seminal Florida. What did you ask? (laughing) - Let's see. - Babe, you're forgetting what you had in your noggin. - Well, look at the stack of letters. How am I gonna remember every single thing I'm writing here? - I'm hungry. - Yeah, me too, you have a whole pot pie down there, right? - You never eat, that's why I didn't eat nothing. - That's crazy. - I know, I didn't even eat dinner or lunch, guys. - Yeah. I don't know what advice to give, you know, there's probably 50 different things that situation. And that's like, that's a very generalized question. Yeah, I don't, I don't know anything about that. Is your stuff in storage, your stuff at your ex, exes, is your stuff at your brothers, is your stuff on those street corners, your stuff in the shacks and where, I don't know, there's no way I can know or answer that question.
And I hope you get your stuff, you know, I mean, I will say that, dusty and woodborne New York. Hey, man, God save, began watching, you know, love seeing, you know, when you're seeing you and Raven and everybody else singing, and then seeing the baptism. Wow. Yeah, that's awesome. Thank you for for watching us and praise God that you got saved and continue to grow in the Lord. Thank you so much. God bless you. Charles Delhart, Texas. Thank you. I know you'd like that city, brother. Ricky in love lock. Remember we passed love lock. Did I show it on the road trip? I might have shown it. But I know we showed love lock. I don't know about the prison there but in Nevada. But anyways. Question on the last page. You want to know who the chaplain is. Yeah, I did want to know who the chaplain is. We want to know who the chaplain is there. So if you or anybody from love lock. Yeah, can talk to the chaplain. Or let us know or talk to the chaplain and let us know who the chaplain is there. We'd like to see if we can go there. Love lock is not that far for us. Yeah, honestly, it really isn't. I mean, it's far, but it ain't that far. Yeah. But you had a question you said in the end. I'm glad you were encouraged, brother. I really glad you were encouraged by my testimony. Oh, you wanted to know what I felt about tattoos funny because I talked about that today's Bible study. Biblically, I know a lot of Christians that get tattoos and a lot of Christians that don't. I personally don't condone Christians getting tattoos because to me, especially us, us kind of like we came out of that meant something. So those things should mean nothing in the Lord, you know, but I have people here that are tatted. I mean, I'm not going to kick them out of the church. I'm not going to say that's a tight. I'm not going to say it's an ugly Ted. I just honestly, I just ignore and don't say nothing. Everybody here knows how I feel about it. You know, but I think if you have other ways of doing art, you know, if God has given you conviction about it. And because here's the thing is a tattoo artist, what do you, what are people asking you? Are they asking you to put something on them as a Christian? How can you do that or naked women or sexual things or demonic things or as a Christian? How would you see what I mean? To me, it's just better off not, but that's just my opinion. What do I know? Yeah. Anthony and San Quentin. Thank you so much. Very, very, very nice letter, man. God bless you. Really appreciated this letter, brother. Keep writing us. Please. I want to hear more from you. Hey, man, Luis in Corcoran. I love the fact he's like, man, I'm not even a Christian man, but I watch everything you guys do. Nice. You know, but I will say this, you said something to the fact of feeling that you can never be rehabilitated. That is a life from hell. That's right. There is nobody that is too far for Jesus. He can break the chains from anyone. The Bible says that you can go to the highest mountain or you can go in hell and you still cannot hide from God. Well, you're asking for a prayer for your mom's heart to be soft and but I'm going to pray for your heart to be on the name of Jesus. Don't ever let the Satan make you believe that you are beyond redemption. Because in essence, what you're saying, if you say, man, I'm beyond redemption. I've done horrible things. I'm a horrible person. In essence, what you're saying is that the cross that the blood of Jesus wasn't enough. Yeah. Think about that. So you're saying the blood of Jesus is not enough. Because if you think you can't be redeemed, that's what you're saying. That is good. Yeah, that saved watching us. And he's talking about the triple meat buckies. Guys, I hit the break this to you. But I'm gonna have buckies again in a few weeks. You know why? Because Arizona now has a buckies and we're going to find ourselves in Arizona pretty soon. Yeah, really quick trip and triple meat sandwich. So they're going to have that road trip as well. Yeah. Yeah, you guys are going to have that road trip as well. So we had an opportunity to go to Arizona. They gave us a room for two days. Is it four nights in four days, three nights and four days. They blessed us with the room there. And David's going to take the opportunity. He's going to take advantage to be able to work on your book, right? I'm writing a book guys called the eight life lessons I learned in solitary in solitary confinement. The eight life lessons I learned in solitary confinement. So I think you know, while he's there, he's going to be working on his book. And then we're prayerfully hoping to be able to visit one of the prisons in Arizona. So we're talking to one of the chaplains while we're there in Arizona. And then while we're there, we're going to be doing some other stuff as well. So yeah, that's that's our goal, guys, happened to heavy
buckies. And that's another goal. Triple meat sandwich. Yep. All right, Tyler Jefferson City mo whatever that means. Missouri. And he learned the word sagacious. Yes, sagacious. And he liked the dictionary idea. I hope some of you other guys like it. This is just in case you didn't hear that one. What I said was, if you got a lot of time, get a dictionary and learn a word a day and use that word over and over and over that day because it'll stick in your brain. You start at the letter A. And every day, use it. And you will grow your vocabulary. That's awesome. Brother Jimmy. You know, you know, what's even better? Kennedy Texas is that trade that word for a bad word of you're still if you're still stuck on using bad words or if you're still stuck on using foul language, trade it for one of the foul language. Because David always says that that's just a lazy way to talk. Yeah, custom is a lazy way to communicate. Yeah, so so change it, you know, exchange it for that. And see how things are going to change for you because, man, your vocabulary will change and it will be such a different way to speak, you know, and I'll start it because some guy called me sagacious and they got mad when I was in prison. I was like, would you call me? Because sagacious get it? And he's like, what are you getting mad? It just means you're a wise man. And I thought he was like clowning me and he had a show me his dictionary. I think he got scared. So he showed me the dictionary said like a wise man. Yeah, let's see what I mean. It's like, you know, I think that exchange it always exchange it for something that's either foul, you know, just that change it for just an easy word or something, you know, Oh, this is my book mark for that one for that one letter. Okay, thank you. Okay, so Jimmy, you know who you are, Kennedy, Texas got both your letters. Thank you so much. And one of them was a completion of the discipleship classes one through six. Yeah, congratulations, well, amazing. Congratulations. By now you saw the Sunday service where we called your name out. Yep. Alexander Santa Anna, California. Congratulations on your five year old son. Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, we don't have any residential programs at all or housing or anything. And so I wish we did really do. But I do see it in our future. Hopefully I pray. Yeah. Carl in I own California. Thank you so much. And God bless you. We see your special request. Juan in Dublin, California. He said a honey bun rapper. He did. Oh, yeah, I love honey buns. I love honey buns. And I can't read my writing. I remember one of the days that I was reading the letters. I didn't have a
book. Oh, that was one that I think, um, when it's that guy that was. Oh, I don't know I was acting demonic and everything. Oh, okay, I don't remember the. Yes, it's demonic man cursing when talking about Jesus every time that he would talk about Jesus. Oh, okay. It's his roomy, his belly or whatever. Yeah, if that's what he's saying, I don't remember. Because I also remember a letter that was writing to us and they were cussing on the letter. So I don't know if that's the one or fits the one you're talking about. Well, while she's reading that guys, Eric in repressa, California, what's which one? At every time that the name of Jesus was mentioned. Oh, yeah, but I don't remember what my point is of my note. What is it? What was it that I was going to say? I guess you know I'm saying, but thank you for your letter. Oh, yeah, I remember this one. So Eric repressa, thank you so much for writing us, but we don't have any assistance or any way to help anybody in their schooling. Yeah. Yeah. But thank you for writing us. Steven and Corcoran, California. God bless you. Thank you for the picture and really, really beautiful letter. It's crazy because he was saying in the past because of where I was from where he's from. He didn't like me and stuff. And but praise God that he went from hopeless to being filled with hope. And you know what? I think it's so beautiful that what he did just to get the stamp. I know. I know. That's very humbling. And you know, the Lord honors everything. He sees everything and what you did just for the stamp. You're going to be blessed and fold 100 fold. The Lord sees everything. So I just want you to know that and you're going to be blessed. Amen. Hey, man. Okay, Willie and Fresno. And I know you had two questions. And let me answer them. Question one, the serpent deceived even the garden. So that means that the devil was already at odds with God, right? I would say this, go and watch the sermon series and I answer that whole thing. Instead of me just giving you a quick answer. Watch the series. Who are you identity in Christ? And you will get that answer. Especially on one and two. Yeah. And second question, the Nephilim were a half breed between angels and humans creating beans. Same thing. You'll walk. Yeah, like Hercules in the light. Yes, you're right. They are a half breed. They are like a mix. That's why Jesus called them unclean spirits that word unclean that Jesus use. He was not talking about demons or fallen angels. He was talking to the Spirit. See, biblically speaking, I'll say this, the Hebrew people believe that what we know as demons or evil spirits are
really the spirits of these Nephilim that are half angelic, half human. And now they're roaming the earth, desiring bodies. So, but yeah, that's all talked about in that whole sermon series and you're so right about, you know, he opened stories that no one no one can close and yeah, all of that. Amen. Okay, Vincent and Greensboro, North Carolina. Oh, yeah, there's no relation to Lacey Peterson. No, for anybody who don't know what we're talking about. So, there's a guy that, you know, did away with his wife and her unborn child, his name was Scott Peterson. And his and the mom's name is a yeah, well, Lacey Peterson's maiden name was Rocha. And the Lacey Peterson's mom was named Sharon Rocha. Sharon Rocha. So, no, there's no relation. Even it's weird, right, that we're in the same city as them. Yeah, but there's no relation at all. It's funny because one time, And this lady was like, and she just like, Sharon Rocha. And I remember seeing it on the camera and she just kept thinking that I was. And I can tell I can hear her talking about that. You remember? Yeah, she kept talking thinking that I was Lacey's mom. And I was like, no, yeah, it was weird. Yeah, which is weird because you probably Lacey Peterson probably be your age right now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jay. Well, yeah, I can't say your full name, but you're in Mansfield, Ohio. And his spiritual birthday was 7, 10, 26 saved by watching our Sunday sermon, one of our Sunday sermons, praise God. Thank you. But thank you for that praise report. And we'll keep your daughter in prayer. Okay, Anthony Tampa, Florida, really, really love this letter watched from episode one off the way to 50. Amen. God bless you busy, busy, busy, busy. Thank you to Carlos in Fox Lake correctional. Thank you so much. God bless you. Let's see what we got here. Decari and MI wherever state that is. And he wants us to post more about the Nigerian pastor. Well, when he comes every year, we will, he wants more road trips.
We like giving the road trips love to see more like the unseen realm and the demons. Yeah, that's man. Michael Heiser, amazing teacher. He said you posted your two movies. We don't see them on a dovo. I don't know. And I could do about that. Please more videos with the guy from the unseen realm. Yeah, I mean, I can see why you want to see him road trip to Hollywood. That's interesting. Yeah, that's definitely doable. Brother Derek. And congratulations. Yes, for the certificate for the discipleship. And let us know what you'd like to do as well. Just like I told the other brother love lovely as well. Let us know what you want us to do with your certificate in your your pen as well. And yeah, he said that he loved the fact because when I said this in the Bible study, the apple doesn't eat its own fruit. That's something that he he shared in a letter and he loved the fact that I quoted it. Yeah, nice. Thank you, brother. Michael in Saint Joseph M.O. and we don't have a sober living program. No, but we do have Pastor Scott. So yeah, if you go to the Fairfield road trip, Fairfield, California road trip, that's so 81 isn't it? No, it's not it. Well, they just got a family road trip Fairfield road trip. That's our district superintendent in Fairfield, which is an hour and 15 minutes away. And they do have a live in program. It's I think a 12 month program. Yeah, and we'll be praying for your parole hearing in November and for your friend Joe. Daniel Little Valley, New York, great, great letter. And thank you so much. He's he's heading to the BOP and once he gets to the BOP, there's no tablets. Oh, wow. Paul Tennessee Colony, Texas. Thank you so much. We don't have any Bible studies or nothing.

So please know that that was, uh, done and sent. Was it an email or, or how was it sent? Um, yeah. No, it was actually sent by mail. Okay. Yeah, it was sent on August 26th. Okay. Victor, let's Luna's New Mexico. Thank you so much for your letter. Brother Derek. - Oh, tinnin' in there. - Ha ha ha. - Delayed. - I know. Got your friend's letter. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. He included a letter from his friend and a sister that watched us and really liked about the grocery giveaway. - Oh, nice. - Yeah, so that's cool. Thank you, brother. Thank you. Tell them I said hello. That we both say hello. - Amen. - Angelo in Corcoran, California.
I just want to say this one thing to you. Nobody is hopeless. - Amen. - Nobody. - Amen. - And I just think I just reiterated that a few letters ago. - Mm-hmm. - Is that say James? - Yes. - James, Fargo, N.D., wherever that is. - Jokes. - Jokes, jokes, jokes, jokes. - I need some water. - Jokes, and a question. - 'Cause I'm hungry. - Okay. - Oh, that's a question. Am I the only one writing from North Dakota? I don't know. There's thousands of letters. - Yeah, I think there's a few more. - Yeah, there's no way. - Just a few, not a lot. - When does a joke become a dad joke when it becomes a parent? (laughing) - That's good. - What do you call a cop when he gets pulled over? Pulled pork.
(laughing) - What? - Oh, no, that was a ugly joke. Hey. (laughing) - Okay, Lana or Lana in Greensboro, North Carolina. Thank you for writing us, but we do not have a pen pal program, pen pal form, pen pal anything. - Go to episode 81 if you find it. - Vincent and Hookerton, North Carolina. - I know, that was my birthday card. - Yeah, your birthday card, thank you. - It was nice. I really liked it, thank you. - Oh, glittery. - I know, it's all girly and glittery. Oh, he says, if he had money, he would definitely send it to me. Thank you. - All right. - My card is perfect. I really appreciate it. - Jose in Woodville, Texas. He's the one that I was requesting about Luis. - Oh, okay, perfect. I'm gonna put this to the side. Get that information to you. Now that you sent it to me, I'll get it over to your family.
- Okay, Tony, Junior, and thank you for your letter. And we see your prayer request. - Amen. - Especially this one, his niece. - Yeah. - That saying by the age of five, she'll be in a wheelchair. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. - Yeah, in the name of Jesus, yeah. - We pray for healing for her in Jesus' name, for strength to come into her bones and her muscles. In Jesus' name. - Okay, I don't know what that says. - Terriman, Terriman. - Okay, Michigan City, Indiana. You heard her great letter, though. Gave his life to Jesus. And as a question on the Sabbath. And I think I remember, I think I read this one last night. But just to refresh my mind, I think I know what you're asking. - Yeah, Terriman. - Oh, yeah. - I feel like biting your hands. - I think I remember. Wait, where's, oh, yeah. But what does HRC about the Sabbath? You know, number one, it's an interesting thing because people will say,
well, the Sabbath is on Saturday. But this is what's weird. And if somebody else thinks differently, well, I don't know. But I'll say this is that. When you say the Sabbath, that's a Jewish thing, but you're comparing it to our calendar, which the Jewish nation does not accept their calendar, to Israel, it is not 2026. Because our calendar starts at the time of Christ. They don't believe in Christ. So to them, it is not 2026. Their days are different from our days. So if you're saying, I celebrate the Sabbath, or I don't do nothing on a Sabbath, and you do that on a Saturday, it doesn't make sense because you're doing a Jewish thing on a non-Jewish calendar. - That's good. - So that's odd to me. But second, besides that, is the fact that, you know, we gotta always remember, man, that Jesus is our rest. He is our Sabbath. You know, and it goes much deeper than that. But I wanna say this is, for people that honor the Sabbath and all that, I got no beef with you. Matter of fact, one of my chaplains with a Seventh-day Adventist,
he was an amazing preacher. So I got no problems with it, you know? My issue is when you do, and you make it religious, not following what you're following. That's, that's my thing, you know, so, but I, nor do I believe Sunday is any special that we have, we don't have service on Sunday because we think Sunday is a special day. I'll have church on any day. I'll have church at any hour. It doesn't even matter. It just happens to be the day most people don't work. So we, it makes sense. Why would I have Sunday? I mean, I'm sorry. Why would I have service Thursday morning? Yeah, it just makes sense. So when somebody has church on Sunday, like we do, it, we're not saying that Sunday is any special than any other day. It's just a convenience because that's when people are most available. That's all it is. We're not trying to turn it into anything religious. I know I can, you know, I can pray for somebody any day, preach any day. Cast demons out any day, you know, okay, Daza? Is that what this is? Uh huh, Daza. Paler'sville, North Carolina and Spanish gracias. Gracias gracias mojo gracias. Okay. Is this a Trevor? It does.
Lansing. Kansas, Kansas, K.S. Oh, yeah. That's a joke. Hey, first time writer. Yeah, thank you. Thank you for writing this. Thank you. Okay. What does a deck of cards and marriage have in common? Well, in the beginning, all you need is a heart and a diamond. And in the end, all you need is a club and speed. Like you club your spouse. First, it starts all nice. And then you want to beat them up. I guess I don't know, man. I don't know. But thank you for the first letter. Sean Carson City, Nevada, really, really good letter. Brand new Christian. Thank you all. All I want to say is encourage you to keep reading your Bible. Continue to go. And as far as going to Reno, we have our sister, church there. Yeah, you know, living waters. And it's right there on Moana Lane and Pastor Rick. And he's a great, great pastor and he's a great teacher. And I would suggest to go there. You know, so we're affiliated with them. They're part of Grace International.
Marquise in I own California. We don't have a Bible college. I think that's the second time he's asking that. Oh, yeah. Yeah, Callie in Avenue, California. He's a Native American brother. So thank you so much. God bless you. Hopefully you keep watching us and and learning and enjoying, and especially the road trips, but sermon, Sunday sermons in the Bible studies, too. Vincent in, um, it's cut today. One of my North Carolina today, one of, uh, one of the sisters gave me, uh, she's from Hawaiian, so she gave me, um, some really beautiful artifacts and stuff from her culture. Yeah, for my birthday. Oh, yeah, I saw it. Yeah. Did you see? Yeah. Uh, Kurt in the funniac Springs, Florida. Never heard of that one, but wants to move west to Fairfield. So I don't have his info top of my head, but it'd be real easy. If you go back to the Fairfield road trip, Fairfield, California road trip. And forward to Pastor Scott and Deborah talking. They're the pastors there and they do have housing. Ryan in Livingston, Texas, thank you so much. God bless you. Thank you for the beautiful, uh, for that. Raymond. Tides and, yeah.
Raymond Santa Fe, New Mexico questions, questions, questions, questions. Questions, questions, questions, questions. Okay. We did. John revelation. John is talking about the Roman Catholic church when he refers to the beast. Right. Uh, that's debatable. That's debatable on who you ask. A lot of times people say it's Islam. Some people say it's the Catholic church. Some people say it's world governments. So, um, I'm not confident to answer specifically exactly what that could be. Number two, I want your opinion on Jesus looks because I heard from a pastor in panda that Jesus was unattractive. He also said Jesus was short, not tall, and he backed it up with scripture. I say a 53. So, yeah, um, I don't know. It doesn't say he was short. Um, it doesn't say he was ugly, but the scripture does say that he was nothing good to look at. Um, you know, So obviously I doubt he was born looking like a Hollywood star. He's probably just looked like an average man. - Like a normal, yeah. - Yeah, just a regular average man. So, but yeah, let's see, was that your only question? Yeah, yeah, the other joke you shared, I don't think it's appropriate, man,
so I'm not gonna share it. - Okay, Gerald, Tampa, Florida. Thank you so much for watching our content. Glad you like our road trips and I glad our road trips brought you memories. He said we drove through a part where he actually ran out of gas at one time. - Really? - Yeah, and he was at this family and all that. And he said, man, and he goes, I thought I'd never see that place again. (laughing) - Well, even though it wasn't the best memory, but it brought you good memories though. - Yeah. - Charles Dalhart, Texas, thank you so much, man. I know you like the city of Orange. God bless you. Caden, Cameron, Missouri, I think this is questions. - Questions, questions, questions. - Questions, questions. - Questions. (buzzing) - What? I have a couple questions. We're in the Bible to say that the sky went dark after Jesus died. In the book of John, if you go to the gospel of John, when Jesus died, it says about it going dark right there. And actually, not only that,
but the curtain in the temple ripped, and it was an earthquake. And also what was your rapper name? My rapper name was Sir Dino from Dark Room Familia. That was the rap group I was in. Oh. All right, Chad, thank you so much. - Thank you, may the Lord multiply in Jesus' name. - Clay, Tabor City, North Carolina. And I did get your first letter. You sent this letter and it copied the other letter, but I did get the other letter. And it was a good argument 'cause he was saying, 'cause I remember I said that to me, Apostle Paul was really the 12th Apostle after Judas, but then they picked and it was somebody named Matthias that became the 12th. And I'm fine with your argument. That's cool too. You know what I mean? He did a good little study on it. - Yeah. - Dung in Austin, Austin, New York. - Austining. - Austin, New York. Question. - Question. - Question. - Question. - Question.
- Question. - All right. - Oh, nice big writing. - Yeah. (laughs) - Oh, there's your question. - I'm getting really hungry. - Okay. Is God one person? Yes. He's one. They asked Jesus, what's the greatest commandment of all? And he says, oh, here, oh, Israel, the Lord God is one. God tested Abraham with his only son in the Bible. I can understand it myself. Okay. Can you test your brother in Christ? Can you test your brother's Christ? I wish I knew more of how you were asking. I really do because-- - Are you trying to test? - Yeah, I'm not sure what you mean by that brother. Like, honestly, like-- - Well, what are your intentions? - 'Cause I could be taken in a good way or a bad way, you know? - Yeah. - So I'm not sure how to answer that. Keith, Indian Springs, Nevada. And he tried calamari in San Francisco where we go, that little place we go.
- Oh, so good. So good. - And he's like talking about that three meat sandwich also. I'm gonna show you a picture of the three meat sandwich, a video of it. And I don't know. You guys like to see that stuff, but yeah. Andrew Ellsworth, Kansas. He's short. - Short timing. - Short timing, October 22nd. - Oh, right here. - And wants to come to Modesto. (buzzer blares) - I think you're getting a little delirious. - Cayman in Pierre, South Dakota. Thank you for writing us. Orlando, Middleton, Massachusetts. Oh, discipleship class is one through six. - Really? Congratulations. That's two here. So those are gonna be two more certificates. - CJ, Henning, Tennessee. And thank you. Thank you so much for watching us and for just learning, you know? God bless. This is why we do this for you guys. - We still have a big old stand.
- Yeah, I'm trying not to pay attention to that. (laughs) - You guys, look at this. - Look at this. Wait, how come we can't see ourselves? camera so keep going come on so are we still recording now Sean in Carson City Nevada question on fasting question question you were delayed on that one question question question okay my question is fasting I need this answer didn't dummy talk that's messed up you're not a dummy man how do you blame in terms yes go to the dictionary and look for something other than dummy member exchange it how do you fast morning tonight eat at night 24/7 with nothing but water how many days one two or three days what's the purpose why would you feel why would you feel oh snap I should I feel like I'm fasting right now I should fast for this or over this I'm confused as to its purpose and reasoning how to properly do it remember I'm a baby Christian I don't know nothing okay good question no honestly it is a good question okay again just top of my head I'll say this is that fasting I think sometimes people use it wrong and sometimes people don't understand the power fasting or how good question there's different fasting as far as this is between you and God I know many people that say I'm gonna fast for 24 hours I'm a fast for three days I know people that have fasted for 40 days I know people that said I'm gonna fast every breakfast for this next month or I'm a fast every dinner over this next month but ultimately it's between you and God on how you're gonna do it but I will say this however you do it what is it meant for it is it is meant for two things if you ask me maybe more I'm sure there's other things but two main things that that for me are on the forefront of it number one is when you are at a place of and you need direction you don't know which way to go it feels muddled it feels confusing and you're just like man I need to shut the noise down bring my body into submission Lord I need an answer and I'm gonna fast until I get that answer so a fast like that you don't know when you're gonna
break it you don't know if you're gonna get an answer a day later two days later three days later for these later there's something about fasting that brings clarity to your mind okay so so my answer is direction when you need direction the second one is to break strongholds that is biblical I don't have the verse on top of my head right now it's like when you want to break strongholds you want to break things in your life that's another reason to fast that's the purpose of it that's not something you go and telling people it's not something hey I'm fasting just fast and just do it between you and God well that becomes your reward yeah you know so but yeah just top of my head there's no set time this between you and God purpose is direction and breaking strongholds so all right let's get down to these last 50,000 letters Victor Las Luna's New Mexico yeah I would say go to Scott and Fairfield go to the Fair Field Road Trip and fast forward to pastor Scott talking Raymond in Seguin, Texas God bless you man I accidentally when I cut your letter open I cut your letter yeah but it's okay because I pieced it all together and I gave it to him piece by piece and he is no longer allowed to cut up cut open the letters I'm the one that normally cuts him open he's not allowed to do it no more guys he's fired fired but I'm sure you know this already man that all my families in Seguin I got a love for Seguin and I finally was able to take Sharon to see it yep okay Tom in Carlisle Indiana he sent this to Amanda and Anthony for the art for the artwork so thank you giving that to them Alex Seminole Florida thank you so much brother God bless you for your letter we'll be praying for your trial man Earl Woodville Texas hello brother thank you thank you for your letter God bless you Bobby Madison Florida God bless you oh you got questions okay yeah one of them I think is still that he wants me to sing is it Mary did I know Mary did you know probably an axe there's laws is this for laws of just Gentile it sounds like it is to me I know where to love the Lord of God with all her heart my soul what about the two times that's a lot too many letters for me too many letters for me to sit here and open my Bible unfortunately I know that sounds ugly but it's it's late man and I'm tired
but I don't know I don't know what that scripture is I'm only gonna guess is him this and this and this. So I would say, yes, that pertains to us that are non Jews. And the book of Genesis, God says all trees and plants are food to eat. No animals. But in the book, a little bit because it tells us what the meter clean. Okay. Good question. I'm going to say this is that she's laughing a question three. But let me answer this real quick. We were never meant to eat meat. If you notice in the Bible, they did not eat meat until after the flood. So when he put him in a garden, man was supposed to eat the fruits and the vegetables and off of the land. It wasn't until after the flood where they ate meat, but he checked this out. The word disease never came into the Bible until meat was introduced to our diet. Oh, yeah. So all right. Mary, did you know Christmas is two months away? So I'll sing it for Christmas. Okay. Okay. All for you. And for sister Sharon, our birthdays are coming up next month. I know September 20th, years of the 14th. It just passed. Happy birthday. Yeah. So it was Sharon's birthday Monday, Monday and today's Wednesday. And you know what I did? I did nothing. I wanted David actually cooked me some salmon outside on the smoker. And I just made some rice and some salad and Raven and Jessica came over. And you guys and Jose and Hollis and Oliver and Abraham and Siena and Sam is still there. Did Matthew eat it? I don't know. And you guys, that was it. I just wanted to be home. I just wanted to hang out at home. That's it. What was the last question you folded it? Oh, he wanted to know if I was going to sing. Mary did. No, that's number three. There was one more. There was five questions. Oh, man. That was the last one. Last one was. Oh, the pressure washer business. I think that I don't know much about that industry. Yeah, I think you could do good acts as a matter of I think it could be, but it depends. Oh, because if you are you talking about pressure washing houses, pressure washing businesses, pressure washing a car washing people's cars in detail, or pressure washing parking lot commercial commercial, you could do it. It matters what it is he's looking for. But I think they're I think it's good. I think it's good. I think it's good. From what I've heard, I think it's good. So as you guys know, we've been doing the life of following Jesus. And right now we're on second Corinthians chapter 12 verse 11 is where we left off last time. And we're getting toward the end of second Corinthians and after that we're going to in the next few weeks, we're going to also hit Jude and first and second Timothy before we conclude this whole series that we've been doing this. I don't even know how many. Well, actually I do know it's what is it 29 so far part 29 I think. So 29 weeks we've been at it. So second Corinthians chapter 12 verse 11. [BLANK_AUDIO] The church barbecue Thank you so much You know Felix and his wife did an amazing amazing job of putting it together and where's he at? Oh, there he is Yeah, you know, I mean is that what I want to ask is that the first annual Labor Day weekend church? barbecue All right sounds good to me Yeah, that was that was really fun. That was really nice, too Okay Let's start in verse 11. Hold on. Let me find I wasn't the right scripture on this. What happened here? Oh
there it is 11 through 13 chapter 12 second Corinthians. Oh Gerald Gerald, all right. I'm gonna give you the Bruce cat. Thank you brother. Thank you Also, if anybody is in the Arizona area, let me know message me email me. I'll tell you why if you message me But if you're in the Arizona Phoenix area, let me know Okay He starts off with saying I have been a fool There's a paul talking he's still writing I don't know if you guys remember if you're here last week he was kind of bragging about some of the stuff because of Things that were going on in that church and he's kind of continuing on And he says I have been a fool. You forced me to it For I ought to have been commended by you for I was not at all inferior to these super apostles even though I'm nothing verse 12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience with signs and wonders and mighty works verse 13 for in what were you less wait for in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches? Except that I myself did not burden you Forgive me this wrong I'm gonna go ahead and read it in the message and then we're gonna kind of break it down about what he's talking about Let me find my place here Second Corinthians 12 11 Were you and wrong Corinthians Okay, am I in the right chapter? Okay, making sure right this last time I don't know what happened last time Actually, I was in the wrong chapter that I was about to read Here it is. All right, so the message in the same thing 11 through 13 says this He says well now I've done it I've made a complete fool of myself by going on like this everything that we were talking about last week and
He says but it's not my all my fault. You put you put me up to it He says you should have been doing this for me Sticking up for me and commending me instead of making me do it for myself You know from personal experience that even if I'm a nobody and nothing I Wasn't second rate compared to those big shot apostles. You're so taken with all the signs that mark a true apostle Were in evidence while I was with you through both good times and bad Signs of portent signs of wonder signs of power Did you get less of me or of God than any of the other churches? The only thing you got less of was less responsibility for my upkeep Well, I'm sorry forgive me for depriving you So he's he's kind of ranting to be honest with you a little bit, you know, and we can't I mean I'm sure we've all ranted at one time or another and basically guys what was happening was remember a little bit about last week that Everywhere he would go he would establish churches and and I Don't think he wasn't much of a you know, some people can be amazing public speakers, but they're probably not good preachers They just know how to how to how to work the crowd And it seems like Paul didn't have that he was just gonna just preach the word, you know, and and other people were coming behind him Like saying they were famous and coming in and kind of swooping and and and and swooping in on the churches and all of a sudden everybody's following these other super apostles is what he was calling them and That's why he went kind of into the rant last week about he's like listen. Do I really got to talk about all the things I've been through? You know, so he's kind of kind of Going on about that still As he's like, "He was seriously, I had to sit here and edify myself. He was, I should have never had to. He was you, the church, the people that I helped build up should have been edifying me. He was in the fact that I have to sit here and edify myself and then kind of commend myself. He goes, "Yeah, I made a fool of myself, but it's kind of your fault too." You know, and I kind of understand that because have you ever had, okay, let's see, how do I word this right? When somebody comes and says, "Oh man, all kinds of people are talking about you." And you get to the point to say, "Why were they so comfortable in telling you?"
You know what I'm saying? Because you didn't stop it, did you? Were those things they said true? Because if it was not true, then you should have stood up for me. You know, and he's like, "Why do I got to come over here and start edifying and commending myself? Shouldn't have been the very church that I established? Why are you not standing up for me with these super apostles?" You know, I remember a few years ago, I think it's finally dwindled down, thank God, I think. I want to say a good seven years ago, this whole like a prophetic movement, a healing movement, a deliverance movement. They started just coming in and if you weren't doing deliverance, then you weren't a real Christian. And if you weren't laying hands on the sick and people being healed, then you weren't really a Christian. And if you weren't giving a prophetic word, so what happened was weird because people that were really in this would go into their churches and get it into the ear of people, all pastoring, doing this, pastoring, doing that. And then they would leave and take people out to follow them. But they weren't established, they weren't anything. So what happened was you pulled people out of a church, you pulled people out of a place of comfort where they had actual support, not only for them, but for their children, for their youth, or if you need a funeral, if you need a wedding, baptisms, whatever it may be, you pull that person to follow after you. But then when they really needed something, you wouldn't help them because you just wanted followers, you didn't actually want to help people. You just wanted followers. And it seems like that's what was happening here is Paul was going and establishing these churches, but then you have these super apostles coming in with eloquent words and all these nice things and they're saying things about me and you didn't stand up for me? Now, don't get me wrong, all of those things are powerful. I believe God gives a prophetic word. I believe God heals. I believe God gives us the power to cast demons on how I know that because we have seen it firsthand. I have seen it firsthand. I've seen it firsthand with my wife. We don't put it on YouTube. Why would, can you imagine if you called me because some family member needed deliverance and they're slithering on the floor like a snake and I just want, I need to get views
and I started putting that on Facebook. That ain't cool. You know what that is? That's caring about me, not getting this person delivered. You know, so I kind of, I get it, man, because then what happened was about seven years ago, a lot of people left churches and yes, I get it. Not all churches are bibberly. I get it, you know what I mean? But you had a lot of these little ministry side pockets develop. And yeah, if I keep going with that, it'll, it'll deviate completely from the study. But it just got kind of, kind of, it got sad because I feel like a lot of people felt through the cracks. And a lot of people ended up chasing after somebody's gift. And when you chase after somebody's gift, it's a dangerous thing. You know, because the Bible says that these signs will follow those who believe. It doesn't say you follow the signs. And a lot of people that maybe, maybe they did have a gift, a prophetic gift. Maybe they did have a gift of deliverance. Maybe they did have a gift, but that doesn't mean they were mature to pastor people and families. And because of that, to me, you know, and again, like, I don't think it's still going like that, you know, but I think it kind of died down, but I think it hurt a lot of people. But he's so then he goes on and he's saying that. a nothing, I wasn't second rate compared to those big shot apostles you're still taken with. And he's like, I'm not even putting myself higher. He goes, but I know I'm not below them. So for whatever reason, Paul was feeling a certain type of way, you know, and it says all the signs that mark the true apostle were in evidence. Well, I was with you. So what's an apostle, you know, so let, let's get that straight. Because that word is used so loosely nowadays. Um, I'm not going to say that there is no apostles, not now.
Here's the thing. Um, there's a difference from an apostle of the people that walk with Jesus. Those are the apostles. Um, now some camps say there is no such apostles once those died. I'm not saying that, but I'm also saying, be very careful of who you call apostle. What's an apostle? Okay. So Paul was an apostle. What did he do? He went to travel to places where there was no church and established a church and raised up leaders. And those churches continued to function. You got Corinth, you have Rome, you, and even though he didn't establish Rome, nevertheless, they still look to Paul. You have Galatians, Ephesus, the Selenica. You had all of these places that Paul was an apostle to. So many times an evangelist would go preach the gospel. People would get saved. The apostle would go establish a church. He would raise up pastors and teachers, build them up and then he'd leave and do the same thing while he was building them up. The evangelists would go ahead and evangelize, bring more people to Christ. The apostle would go establish a church. You know, so that's what an apostle is. So unless an, somebody's an apostle that's actually doing that, if they have one and a half churches under them for the last 15th, they're not apostles, bro. They're not. They're just a glorified preacher, maybe. You know, and it's like, we got to be really careful because that is something
that is, okay, give an example. Why is it that in America, I meet pastors that have two churches that call themselves apostles, but pastor Thomas, who come from Nigeria, oversees 500 churches. And he says, I'm just, I'm just a pastor, man. Who should have those bragging rights, but doesn't take them. And I'm just like 500 churches. What? And he goes, yeah. See, if anything, and he doesn't even take that on because to him, that's a serious title, to him, he's not worthy to be, man, I'm not an apostle. I'm just a pastor and I just oversee other pastors. You know, so honestly, if anything, I would say then at the least you're a bishop. Because a bishop is overseas, a bishop is a pastor of pastors. You know, so America's funny, man. You know, just, so he says this, he says, talking about himself. He says, all these signs that mark a true apostle were in evidence. Well, I was with you. He's, you want to see an apostle, you call these guys super apostles. He goes, wasn't it evident when I was with you? He says, because I was with you through the good times and the bad times. Through signs of portant, through signs of wonder, signs of power. You know, so he's just, again, he's like, man, why, why has it got to be like this? Verse 14 and 15. It says this, he says, here for the third time, I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden for I seek not what is yours, but you. It's important when he said that. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children, 15, I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more and I am I to be loved less?
I'm a read it in the message. He says, everything is in readiness now for this. My third visit to you, but don't worry about it. You won't have to put yourselves out. I'll be no more of a bother to you this time than on the other visits. I have no interest in what you have, only in you. Children shouldn't have to look out for their parents. Parents look out for their children. I'd be most happy to empty my pockets, even mortgage my life for your good. So how does it happen that the more I love you, the less unloved? So what is he saying here? You know, it's really sad because in verse 14, when he says, I'm here to seek not what is yours, but you. So it seemed like these super apostles are coming to see what they can get from the people. They wanted to see what they can get. And Paul's like, I don't want nothing from you. I don't want what you have. I want you to be built up. I want you to be edified. I want you to be saved. I want your family to be saved. I want you to be healed. You know, so it's the same thing. Like, you know, I'm really careful on who I let speak behind the pulpit, but I've made some mistakes over the years. I think in 15 years, I probably regret two people that I let guest speak. One of them, you know, he talked really well,
talked really good, had a good conversation. And I'm just like, man, this guy is solid, you know what I mean? And it's good, you know, yeah, you know, and he was just kind of traveling through. And so he spoke. And it was cool. The word was good, but then it turned into, it literally turned into an infomercial. Remember that, babe? He started saying, guys, I have these pills that help your diet and I have this that will help burn your fat and I have this. It was insane. And I'm just like, what is going on here? Is this QVC? Like, what's going on? What's happening? It literally turned into a sales pitch for his products. And now don't get me wrong, you guys, yeah, you know, guys, yeah, we have shirts. Do I do a 20-minute message about it? You know, like, it's just there. You know, I mean, they're there and the books are there. But this was insane, right? Because now there's a time and a place for everything. I don't have a problem if a guest speaker comes and has a book that he wrote. Or things like that, you know, don't get me wrong. I don't have an issue because you might say, "Man, that was really good what you preached."
Or vice versa, you know, nothing wrong with that. You know, but it just seemed like, did you come to give a word to the people here? Or did you come to give a short word so you can have a 30-minute infomercial? And Paul was like, "Listen, these superposes are coming." He says, "But please understand." He says, where's it at? He goes, "I seek not was yours. I seek for you. I care about you." And then he goes on to saying, "For children that are obligated to save up for their parents, for their parents, for their children." So he considered himself a father to the church. So he's like, "In the same way, you don't expect from your kids, you provide for your kids." He goes, "In the same way, I don't want nothing. You guys are my spiritual kids." He goes, "I came here to pour myself out for you." This is what Paul is saying. I came to pour myself out. He was, "If I could mortgage my life, then I would for you." Why is he saying that? 'Cause it leads me to believe that these superposes are coming just to take. You know, and he's like, "How are you gonna respect them more?
If I'm here for you." And then he goes on in 15 uses, "I would gladly spend and be more spent for your souls. And if I love you more, why do you love me less?" At the very least, "Can you love me the same I love you? Can we be mutual here?" How many of you have, I know everybody's gonna raise their hand. How many of you have ever, you've cared for somebody, loved somebody and realized it wasn't reciprocated back. The whole time you just love this person, adore this person. And later on, you're like, "Man, they didn't even love me at all, man. This has been a one-sided friendship, a one-sided relationship, a one-sided, you know, and that hurts. That hurts. It hurts in the church, right? You think somebody's close to you, you think somebody is, you know, and then when it really comes down to it, you were there for them no matter what, but then in the time of need, they're not there for you. That hurts, you know, and for me, you know, when I hear him, I hear his heart when he's saying this. He says, "If I love you more, am I to be loveless?" You know, and I don't know, it doesn't feel good when that happens. You know, and verse 16, he says, "But granting that I myself did not burden you.
I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you by deceit. And the message just says, and why is it that I keep coming across these whiffs of gossip about how my self-support was a front behind which I worked an elaborate scam?" were saying that Paul was nothing but a scammer. That's messed up, right? Because usually the one that's saying you're a cheater is the one that's cheating. You know, so these people that were super apostles, the things that they were talking about and saying about Paul, most likely because they were doing those things. So Paul's like seriously, like after everything that we've been through, everything that we've established, everything I helped do, everything I helped this church and pray for this church and all these things for this church and because these guests come and they say that I'm scamming it, now you're just going to believe it and nobody argued it and nobody stood up for me. That's wild. You know, and again, maybe that's happened to you before. Maybe you have shown nothing but honor, but the moment one person says something negative about you, instead of asking you or telling you they just run with it and believe it and you're like, what is that? So everything you've seen me through, everything we have been through, it doesn't count for nothing. And the moment somebody says, like he says here, at the whiff of gossip about how my self-support was affront, because remember, Paul was a tent maker. He would make tents. And matter of fact, Paul continued to make tents because he says, you know what, I'm going to keep making my own money because the last thing I want to do is take your money and then you going to have people accuse. So I don't want none of your money. God will just bless me with my tents. So now he's not taking from the church. He's doing his own money. And now they're saying that that's affront. He says, why is it that I keep coming across these whiffs of gossip about how my self-support was affront behind which I worked in the elaborate scam? You know, it's like, what am I supposed to do here? That's wild. In 17, he says, did I take advantage of you through any of those whom I sent to you? I urge Titus to go and send the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same steps? And the message it says, where's the evidence? He says, did I cheat or trick you through anyone I sent? I asked Titus to visit and sent
some brothers along. Did they swindle you out of anything? And haven't we always been just as above board and just as honest? So again, you know, for the very fact that, remember, we're reading a letter that Paul wrote. So obviously he's answering back some type of letter, some type of gossip or some type of something, but clearly he's very bothered. You know, and he's just like, I don't understand why. Why is this happening? Why is this going on? Why are you guys allowing these things to be said? Why did nobody stand up for me? Why am I having to stand up for myself? And 19, he says, have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It isn't a sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ and all for your up building, beloved. And the message he says, I hope you don't think that all along, we've been making our defense before you, the jury, you're not the jury, God's the jury. So I love that because again, we answer to the Lord and Paul is like, man, I'm not saying this because you're my judge and jury. I'm doing this because God is my judge and jury. And he knows all things because we see we can hide from people. We can act with people, but we can't fake with God. And that's what Paul is saying. He's like, man, God's the jury. God revealed in Christ and we make our case before him. And we've gone to all the trouble of supporting ourselves so that we won't be in the way or get in the way of your growing up. So he's like, man, I have made an effort to self sustain myself so you can't accuse me and you still accuse me. So a lot of the stuff, guys, that ministry goes through now. He was going through it back then. It was still happening back then. You know, and it's, it's, it's, it's horrible. It doesn't feel good when, when you know, when you know that you know that you're doing things with the heart of Christ, that you're doing things to, for the betterment of people, that you're doing things. And if somebody else comes along and says, Oh, you're scamming, you're doing this. You're doing it for money. You did, um, that hurts. You know, and it's like, Paul is like, what are you doing? Haven't I shown myself already?
Haven't I proven myself already? You know, why, why are you allowing this to happen? And in 2021, he says, for I fear that perhaps when I come, I may find you, not as I wish, and that you may find me, not as you wish, that perhaps there may be quarreling jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. 2021, I fear that when I come again, my God may humble me before you. And I may have to mourn over many of those who sinned earlier and have not, and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality and sensuality that they have practiced. I'm going to read that same portion in the message. He says, I do admit that I have fears that when I come, you'll disappoint me. And I'll disappoint you. And in frustration with each, with each other, everything will fall to pieces. Quarles, jealousy, flaring tempers, taking sides, angry words, vicious rumors, swelled heads and general bedlam. He says, I don't look forward to a second humiliation by God among you, compounded by hot tears over that crowd that keeps sinning over and over in the same old ways, who refuse to turn away from the pigsty of evil, sexual disorder, and indecency in which they wallow. So it seems like he's about to make a trip to the, to the church of Corinth. And he's like, man, my biggest fear is I'm going to go and we're going to disappoint each other. He was, we're, we're going to be frustrated. I'm going to be frustrated at you. You're going to be frustrated at me and we're going to start arguing is going to be jealousies and flaring tempers and people are going to take sides and angry words and then vicious rumors and swelled heads and, and just complete chaos. He says, and then God's going to humiliate me over it. And then he said, that's why he says, and compounded over that is the people in that church that keep on sinning over and over and over and over and over,
who refuse to repent. I don't know about you, man, but I can hear the frustration in Paul. Why are we reading this? Because we're studying the life of following Jesus and we want to understand that these things are normal. Sometimes it happens. Unfortunately, even today in ministry, it still happens. People are accused, sometimes it's right. Sometimes it's wrong. Sometimes this is, this is, this is a pet peeve of mine when somebody fills the blanks instead of just asking. I think that person, you know, this is why they did it or this, how do you know? Fill in the blanks. It doesn't, sometimes the way it looks to you, maybe isn't the reality. You know? And just don't fill in the blanks for people. Yeah, we read that last, yeah. And it does, that takes me to day because I'm glad that that is the only one on your side, whenever because that keeps me in chat. It keeps me humble and it draws me close to day. Yeah, there's, if God gave us every single thing we asked for, sometimes we ask things that maybe would cause us to, to change, you know? Sister Phyllis, thank you. You want the West Side cat? There it is. Bam. Thank you. Um, I think some of our biggest struggles, each individually that we struggle with, sometimes or probably our biggest blessing and we don't realize it because it keeps us humble. And it's okay to be humble. It's better than okay to be humble.
You know, I, I would rather be humble than be humbled. You know, they say humble pie don't taste good, so I don't want to eat it often. That's why I'm really careful with my words, to the best of my ability and careful with my actions. Sometimes I don't respond so fast because I don't want to speak before I think, um, you know, and, and, you know, I know, I know here at House of Rest, um, I know, I know we lack at many things, but I know we are strong in other things. And I'm grateful for that, you know, I, uh, don't get me wrong, like, do I want a worship band with musicians, and of course I do, and I would love for people to say, man, man, the worship here and, and yes, I would love to hear that and all these things, but, um, you know, what, what's nice is when people say, I, we came up, okay, we're at food for less in Manteca the other day. And a woman stopped us and said, she told Sharon, oh, I recognize you. She was, uh, I forgot how, what she said or what she, but basically talking about YouTube, you know, and it was beautiful because she says, I have a church that I go to on Sundays. She was, but I love watching the Wednesday Bible studies because you teach the word. I mean, what better compliment? What better compliment? Can you imagine, you know, and I don't know what, what conversations you have with people or whatever, but, you know, can you imagine just like, oh, you go there? Yeah, man, I heard they, they teach the word. I mean, yeah, it's, it'd be nice to say, man, you guys are amazing this or amazing that or whatever it is, you know, but, uh, man, you teach the word. And I think that's, that's an amazing compliment because, because as time goes, as, as we, as we get closer and near to the end of days, the less the word is going to be taught in the church, you know, so we want to make sure that we're grounded and rooted in the word of God. And again, like, like Paul was saying, these super apostles were coming and doing this and doing that and, and, and what we were sad about that is the fact that not only were they coming, but then they were accusing Paul of the very things they were doing, you know,
and it sounds like, like Paul was like concerned, he's concerned because he, like he said, he goes, I'm not trying, I don't want what's yours. I want you, you know, and I think that's, it's a beautiful thing because it lets us see a, a spiritual father loving on his spiritual children. And I think also on, on a pastor side, I think that many times pastors have to quit worrying about how popular they are and instead worry about the spiritual children in their church. I'm not sure, I don't know if it's recognition, fame, notoriety, I don't know what it is, you know, I have no idea. You know, when I did my music in the world, all that popularity, I already know what that tastes like. So, so coming in, in, in, you know how that whole saying like oh man been there done that. So now that was kind of like, that already went through my system already before Christ. Now I could just concentrate on his word and not anything else, you know, because been there done that. That stuff doesn't mean nothing anymore, you know, seeing families changed, seeing marriages fixed, seeing men strength in the Lord, seeing women strength in the Lord, seeing children seeking after God, seeing young people, you know, walking with their Bibles. My God, what a testament, what a testimony, you know, that is a beautiful, beautiful sight to see because you don't see that anymore. You know, I mean, I know your son carries his Bible everywhere and I don't know what's more beautiful than that. You know, and, and here's the thing though right is that, obviously some of our kids, when they do good you're like yeah that was me, when they're bad you're like I don't know what's wrong with them kids you know me but. But when I see that it reflects the parents. It does, you know, and I commend you for that, because I had to come from somewhere, you know, and. Yeah, it's awesome, you know. Unfortunately I didn't, you know, nobody could look at my parents like that when I was their age. You know, they're probably like looking my parents serving the Lord and I see me at that age and like man what's wrong with him. You know, but I'm glad you know at 32 years old, you know I surrendered my life to Jesus but that's awesome to be able to see. Yeah, okay, we're gonna say something down. Well, when I get out of the apostle Paul, we showed up at this church. We saw that everybody at the first time didn't take him serious. They didn't even take him serious and he saw him in his sentences in the church and they didn't say it. Yeah, thank you, thank you brother. Where are we at here? Did I start 13 yet? No, was I about to? Okay. I was just enraptured by your singing earlier, Tino.
Yeah, amen. Okay, 13 verse one, let's read one through four. Oh, I did read one, didn't I? Okay, there's a third time I'm coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. I warn those who sinned before and all the others and I warn them now while absent as I did when present on my second visit that if I come again, I will not spare them. Verse three, since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me, he is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. Verse four, for he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you, we will live with him by the power of God. So again, some little word play, so let's read it in the message and get it, you know, see that we can hear it twice. It says one through four, well, this is my third visit coming up. Remember the scripture that says a matter becomes clear after two or three witnesses give evidence. On my second visit came back, I wouldn't go easy on them. Now preparing for the third, I'm saying it again from a distance. If you haven't changed your ways by the time I get there, look out. You who have been demanding proof that Christ speaks through me will get more than you bargained for. You'll get the full force of Christ. Don't think you won't. He was sheer weakness and humiliation when he was killed in the cross. Oh, but oh, he's alive now in the mighty power of God. We weren't much to look at either when we were humiliated among you, but when we deal with you this next time, we'll be alive in Christ strengthened by God. What is he talking about? Because him being the apostle, him being basically the father of this church in a sense, a spiritual father, there was people in that church that continued to sin, they continued to sin. He warned him the second time he visited and they didn't stop. And now he would just like, you know what? He goes, we're going to handle business.
You know, if you got to remember in in first Corinthians, there was a person that was doing some wrong stuff and he says, you know what, release him to Satan. And sometimes you just got a clean house. You got a clean house, you know, and it sounds ugly and that should always be the last resort, but sometimes it comes down to it. I've often told people, I'm like, listen, man, if you keep stumbling in your walk, then get back up, get back up. But if you're stumbling, it's starting to cause other people in the church, like a cancer, then you got to go. You know, it's like, and it's like, oh man, what no mercy, there's no forgiveness. No, because now you're affecting the church. You want to affect yourself and go and circle yourself and be in your own little wilderness for 40 years? That's on you. But the moment you start affecting other people, you know, and that's what was happening here, you know, and like, I don't like confrontation myself. I don't like it, you know, but when it comes down to you're hurting people in the church, then what else is there to do? And that's what Paul is saying. Raven, you're not getting the cheesecake. You get the Kool-Aid cat. Oh, yeah. All right. So, so whatever, you know, he's like, man, on this third visit, I'm going to have to come clean house. You know, I remember talking to a pastor, well, who I consider my pastor, Pastor Larry out of Livermore, he's a vice president of Gracer National, and I'm just like, I don't know what to do. It is a certain situation. I don't know what to do, you know, and he says, he says, you got to tell him to leave.
You know, I'm like, yeah, but they're my friends, you know, and he's like, oh, so this is your church or God's, I'm like, well, it's the Lord's church. He says, what does friendship have anything to do with it? And I said, yeah, but if I confront them, they're going to leave, and he was, you know what pruning is? Remember that, babe? I was in tears. He says, David, sometimes you got a prune. He says, and I guarantee you, every time you prune, more fruit comes. He said, don't be afraid. So we confronted the issue, and some people left, some were told to leave, and then like within a few months, it almost like tripled the people that like, let's say 10 left and 30 K, you know, and that was a lesson that I had to learn, you know, because I remember talking to him, he's been in ministry like 40 something years. He's like, David, I know what I'm talking about. He was and it's not easy and sometimes it's not easy, you know, so again, you know, these are things that you learn over time, and it doesn't make it any easier, it's just, it's not like you get better at it. It still hurts, but nevertheless, he's like, man, if I got to go and do this, then we're going to do it because these people were, remember, he's not talking about people that he's like these people who continue to be warned and warned and warned and continue to live in sin and clearly is affecting the church. And you got to reach a point where enough is enough. Verse five, he says, examine yourselves, so he's telling the church, examine. I I I I I I
I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I
I I I I I I I I >> [INAUDIBLE] >> Yeah, well, you know, I'm glad you brought that up because I think on the flip side, there are some spiritual leaders that because they're a spiritual leader, they think they could just say anything to anybody. And I've said this before, and I've used an example before, is that when, for instance, when Sharon came into my life, that man Abraham came into my life. And can you imagine if I just became a disciplinarian, if I just disciplined, disciplined, disciplined, and that's it, and he felt no love from me, then I would become a dictator. I'd be a control freak, but he knows now that if I have to say something to him, he knows where it's coming from, because there's a lot of things that Sharon can teach him, but she can't teach him to be a man. So there's many things that I have had to have conversations with him. But again, it comes with love. So in the same way, as a pastor or as a leader or a spiritual leader, if you're leading a group or ministry or whatnot, whoever it is that the correction should always come from somebody that loves that person, because if not, it's going to get taken wrong, and it's going to sound offensive. It's going to be like, now you want to say something, but when I was going through it, you weren't there, but if somebody's been there with you through your hardships, it gives more of a license to speak into their life
if it's something that maybe they need to be corrected on or not. So, yeah. That word from James, when I think comes in as well, what was this supposed to speak? It's really important to me, because that's where communication, it allows communication and wisdom and all of that coming as well, because it's important. But also, I think for me, if I hadn't and made the choice to allow you to step in, to be able to be, I step aside, I made that choice to step aside so that he is able to be that man, and he pronounced well, because there's a lot of people that don't step aside, and I think that's important, because sometimes, they could be vice versa as well, because sometimes, as women, we don't allow that to happen. We don't step aside so that a man can come in and be the man to the child or something, and vice versa, and I can be a different way around as well, that I knew very well that my son did a plan to help him, and I knew that I could do it, so I knew that I couldn't do it, he could, and I wasn't going to get in the way of that. But even more to add to that is that, but it was the example I was setting as a man. That's another thing. Because fathers, man, they'll be smoking and drinking. They'll be like, "Hey, don't be like me. Don't smoke, don't drink." And they're just like, "Dude, that's what you're doing." But you become a living example of that. That's why the Bible says older men, teach the younger men, older women, teach the younger women. So women, this whole thing, and men, like, "Man, I don't care what people think of me. I don't care, you better care." Because the Bible says that you have to be an example
for those who are younger in Christ. So God holds us to a standard because we're there to be the examples for those who are younger than us. So there's a standard to live by. And we don't have that freedom to say, "I don't care what people think." That is from the devil, that is not of God. That's not from the spirit of God. We need to be a living example. You know, and if I'm gonna preach up there on Sunday, then I better be an example of it, or else I should get off and not ever step behind there. So we want to be examples. Abraham Rodriguez, let's see, I'm gonna give you the Darth Cat. Thank you, appreciate it. Yeah, we have to be examples. And that goes for everybody, what happened? Oh. (muffled speaking) Yeah, and sometimes like, there's time, okay, your husband. I'm friends with him, I joke with him. But there's times I had to share something with him and I get serious, you know? And I think because I hope that he respects me, he listens, and just hears me out at least. I hope I'll say, you know what I mean? I hope so, you know what I mean?
That when I say something, you're just like, all right, because I know that's coming from love. I hope you feel that way, you know? Because when you guys come out out of prison and you made all the, you come all the way over here, I take that serious, you know? I take that very serious, you know? So, but yeah, where are we at? (muffled speaking) Six. Five. Where? (muffled speaking) Okay. Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves, or do you not realize that this is about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you fail to meet the test. I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. Verse seven, but we pray to God that you may not do wrong, not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed. Verse eight, for we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. Verse nine, for we are glad when we are weak and you are strong, your restoration is what we pray for. And the message says, test yourselves
to make sure that you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. So that's not the whole verse, but that's important right there. Give yourself regular checkups. Check your heart in all situations. You know, I'm not, I might not say everything right, everything this and that. Sometimes if I hear somebody say, say, say, Sharon tells me something and I didn't like it, but then somebody else says the same thing. And I'm like, okay, so am I gonna get mad twice to say they're wrong or maybe, just maybe, I need to check myself. Yeah, exactly, you know? And many times, most wives are the perfect mirror for their husbands and vice versa, you know? And sometimes that's sometimes for us men, that's the hardest to hear it from. But I know, I know my wife enough that she loves me and cares about how I seem, how I appear, not only to her, to the kids, but to you. So if she says something to me, even though at that moment I might not like it, you know, what do I do though? Give myself a regular checkup. I'll go on my bike ride. I'll be like, messed up, she said that to me. And then I'm just like, well, let's see this 360. Why does she say that?
Is she right? Does she read it wrong? Am I saying it wrong? Am I, you know what I mean? Don't be so arrogant to me. Last I heard there was only one that's perfect and it ain't you and it ain't me. It's Jesus. So there's nothing wrong. If somebody says something, don't get so quick to get mad. Do a, do a regular check. Ask the Lord. Cause the Lord isn't going to lie to you and he's going to be straight up to you. Matter of fact, husband, the Bible says that the, the woman is a weaker vessel. And you treat them wrong. How do you spec him to answer your prayers? I don't know about you, but I need all my prayers answered. So then I show up with flowers. No, well, I don't really buy too much flowers. She's going to say I'm a lion, I'm a lion, but we've got to give ourselves regular checkups. It says you need first hand, you need first hand, first hand evidence. Do not, not mere hearsay that Jesus Christ is in you. So what's the evidence that Christ is in you? So if we don't do these regular checkups, how can people see Christ in us? We want to live in a way where people know you're a Christian before you say you're a Christian because they see the way you operate, the way you talk, the way you handle things. He says, test it out. And if you fail to test, do something about it. So I'm on my bike ride. I'm just like, man, maybe she's right.
You know what I mean? So how do I fix this now? How do I do something about it if I fail the test? He says, I hope the test won't show that we have failed. But if it comes to that, he says, we'd rather the test show our failure than yours. He says, we're rooting for the truth to win out in you. We couldn't possibly do otherwise. And then the last verse in the message, we and nine, we don't just put up with our limitations, we celebrate them and then go on to celebrate every strength and every triumph of the truth in you. We pray hard that it will all come together in our lives. That's cool. It's crazy, right? Cause he's like, man, we celebrate what we're weak in. We celebrate our limitations. Why? Because he is strong. Verse 10, I see those super cats. Hold on, Marcello and Annette. Um, that was not the last verse, huh? It's a couple more verse 10. For this reason, I write these things while I am away from you that when I come, I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down. And the message says, I'm writing this to you now so that when I come, I won't have to say another word on the subject. The authority the master gave me is for putting people together and not taking them apart. I want to go on with it and not have to spend time on reprimands. In other words, like man, I'm writing this letter.
I pray that this brings correction before I even get there. That way when I get there, it don't have to be about this. It can be about building up. It can be about putting people together. Before we do the last verse, Marcello, let's see. I wish I had one with the knee, but I don't, but I'll give you the evangelist cat brother, a busted cat. Actually, because you've got knee surgery, I'm going to give you two, the baptizer cat and sister and that wants a spread cat. Bam. There it is for the spread. Junior gave me the other day. Amen. All right. So let's finish this off. Uh, 11 says, finally, brothers rejoice. Aim for restoration. Comfort one another, agree with one another. Live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy spirit be with you all. And the message is says this. And that's about it, friends. Be cheerful. Keep things in good repair. Keep your spirits up. Think in harmony. Be agreeable, do all that and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure. Greet one another with a holy embrace.
All the brothers and sisters here say hello, the amazing grace of the master Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy spirit be with all of you. So we know that this is a second letter We know that he was planning on a visit to them. And this is the way he signed off. And he's like, man, this just rejoice, man. Instead of all the drama, instead of all this stuff, can we just rejoice? Can we just bring restoration? Can we just comfort one another? Can we just agree? Can we just live in peace? So the love of God and his peace be with us all? And that's what it comes down to. I think the same thing with every church, with every fellowship. Can we just have peace? Can we just rejoice? Can every Sunday be a time of celebration where we come together and we're actually excited to see each other? We're actually happy to see each other. We go to a barbecue and we're excited to see each other. We go there and fellowship or whatever. We meet at each other's house for coffee or for lunch or dinner or whatever it may be or we'd run into each other in the street or whatever. Let's aim for restoration. You know, if somebody maybe is for whatever reason,
has done you wrong or maybe they left this place or whatever, and if you see them, greet them. If they don't want to greet you, that's on them. But greet them. Doesn't mean you got to be all buddy, just be like, "Hey, God bless you. Hope everything's going good." And just keep it moving. But don't let somebody, don't give that to somebody and be like, "Oh man, I saw so-and-so." And, "Oh man, just rejoice." Rejoice, aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you. That's what he was saying. It's a good book, man. It's a good book. I think it's important. I know next week we're going to start with the book of Jude, which is actually one chapter. So we'll deal with that next week. And then we're going to go into first Timothy and then second Timothy over the next weeks after that. But yeah, let's bow our heads. Lord God, we thank you so much for this opportunity to read your word, open your word. We thank you for second Corinthians, Lord. And so much wisdom, so much to gain from there, so much to acquire.
And we just thank you for the Holy Spirit, inspiring Paul to write these words to that church. And even though Paul might've thought he was writing just to that church, not realizing Lord, through the Holy Spirit that he was writing to all churches and to all believers. And we just thank you so much for this time and this moment so we can come together and read scripture together as a family. We thank you in Jesus name, amen.
