Asking Forgiveness from Others
Read pages 177-183 of Stephen Canup’s book, "Knowing Jesus Intimately: A Relationship of Love-motivated, Spirit-empowered Obedience," which is available for free reading in Pando Books and Edovo.
TAKEAWAY HIGHLIGHT
When we have offended or hurt others, we must ask God to forgive us so
that we do not hamper our progression in relationship with Him. Also,
whenever wisdom and practicality allow us, we should ask forgiveness from
those whom we have offended. Asking others to forgive us is sometimes a
difficult thing for us to do because of pride. It requires humility to admit
we were wrong, and to ask someone to forgive us. Being humble is the key
to experiencing forgiveness and healing. Humble yourself; it is the first step
toward being forgiven.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you some of the people you have hurt and
offended. Talk to the Father to admit you were wrong and tell Him you
do not want to do things like that again. Thank Him for His forgiveness,
and ask Him for wisdom, timing and discernment as to the people you
might be able to contact to ask their forgiveness.
