Answering Hard Questions About Jesus (After Service: San Diego)

After all the years of being in the ministry and like reading the Bible like 20 plus times and everything that you've done so far, have you personally or witnessed it, um, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, anything like that? If you think about it, I'm a person who, a gang member like me, heart posture closed, super wild, hardheaded, didn't listen to anybody, all of a sudden becoming peaceful. That's a miracle in itself. There's no way, right? When I hit 18, adult industry, seven years, and then I came home again. So, praise God. I just want to say, uh, thank you guys, you know, for coming through. This is definitely an answer to prayer. All the things that you've been, uh, you know, the unlocked scholars have personally blessed me a lot, man. It's, it's healed me from a lot of trauma. It's blessed me personally. Wow. Yeah, yeah. That's wild. Thank you for sharing that. I feel like a lot of us are just taught very incorrectly, and I feel like there's a lot of us coming back to spiritual life, especially the way that he's teaching Christianity. Yeah. A lot of God's blessings are always connected through people, you know what I mean? So I think it's going to be great tomorrow, and I'm excited. They can still see, but they don't really have to worry about their kids too much, you know? Because it's up here. Right. Kids can just scream. Ah!

Hey, hey, you know those goofy, those goofy transitions where it's like DJs, and they're on an empty stage, and then the crowd fills with people? Oh, yeah. And then just like, put your hand up like this. And then it's going to, you're going to have to do the same thing tomorrow, and we're going to do it tomorrow. Remember. Okay. So who is the true Sabbath? When Jesus says in Mark 11, 28, those of you who are heavy burdened and laden, come unto me and I shall give you rest. What do you do on the Sabbath day? You rest. My parents are immigrant parents and they came from, you know, Buddhist backgrounds, right? So you guys know Buddhism is all about karma, kind of self works and edification of self. When I stopped thinking that I'm a gang member with two strikes and I can't do anything in my life, that's when I started to take the blood and walk in that identity. I hope today the message is you're free from your sin because Jesus says so, not because you did well. My main message here, just like everything at Core of the Heart, is just clarity, consistency, community. And I hope that people come here for the gospel. Whether they're church-herd, whether they're people who've been, you know, unbelievers, non-believers, anybody, right? We're all interconnected through the struggle. We're gonna talk about Jesus calming the storm and how that ties into the gospel, calming our storms. He's the one that's in the boat, makes us loved, makes us feel peaceful, laying green pastures. Can God lie? Listen, God can do a lot of things There's one thing he cannot do Lie Amen? Would you agree? He cannot lie, otherwise he wouldn't be God Now if God says, Johnny Chang I don't remember your sins no more Never again But in 2007 you did this, this and this That would make God a liar He doesn't do that I want you guys to do an exercise with me today That really made this verse my verse You see the word and their sins, their, replace it with your name, plural. So for me, it would read like this, and Johnny's sins and iniquities will I remember no more. It hit different, amen? You guys understand? What stopped me from living that lifestyle, as Pastor Kim was saying, what casted out all the darkness, all of those things in my life was these verses alone. The word, when I connected my heart to the word, I was able to continuously preach the gospel in this way. Good people, there's no good people in heaven. Good people don't get to heaven, guys. Forgiven people get to heaven. Are you following me?

Amen, right? We're not people that are good, right? And I'm not saying we're gonna sin however we want, but what I'm saying is, guys, when you connect your heart to the word of God, that's the power that leads you to push forward. Please raise your hand if today you believe and distrust your thoughts that Jesus Christ has died for your sins, made you perfect forever and righteous. Please raise your hand. Amen, amen, guys. Thank you very much. Amen, amen. So now we actually have the Q and As. Hi, Johnny, my name is Krista. There are a lot of things that point to the authenticity and divinity of the word of God. My question for you is, what would you say to someone questioning it? It's very difficult because, you know, you can explain it to somebody, but you can never make them accept it. That's the issue here. People, foundationally, they don't know their own hearts. When they ask questions like, how do you know that the Bible wasn't altered? It is a heart of skepticism masked in a question and curiosity. Understand what I'm saying?

They already made the decision in their hearts, even though they don't say it, that this ain't real. So what can you say to those people? Nothing. Your job is not to convince people. You are the United States Postal Service. You're the messenger. United States Preaching Service, okay? You drop the message. You know, imagine you're working, right? And you give like a foreclosure letter. You're not like, oh, how do I give it to this person? That person in that little blue van or whatever, they just drop it off and you're screaming and that's your problem, right? In the same way, we don't try to make things make sense because we need faith. It says in the Bible, without faith, it is impossible to please God. We need to trust, but human beings, they have a crooked heart. Oh, make it make sense, hit this checkbox, and then I'll believe. That's not true love and that's not true faith. To change that, you can't do anything. You have to pray for them. You have to be there for them. Be cautious with them, be light with them, be gentle with them, be calm with them. But don't ever try to debate them

because God needs to lift the veil. That's God's job. He is the Savior. You just sow the seed, plant the seed, understand? Right. Thank you. Amen. So how does someone say that they're Christian but doesn't feel fully Christian? So you say you're Christian, but you don't feel fully Christian. Do you know what the Bible says about feelings? In Jeremiah 17, verse nine, when you get a chance, mom will show you. Feelings are deceitful. The heart is deceitful. Above all things, desperately wicked. Who can know it, right? So if I say, if you ask me a question today, hey Johnny, when is this gonna end? And I go, who knows? Does that mean I know it or I don't know when it's gonna end? You don't know. I don't know, right? So same thing. We don't know our hearts. If you base everything on your feelings, oh, I feel like, you know, I'm saved. Then you're gonna live like a roller coaster

because when you feel saved, you'll be happy. When you don't feel saved, sad. Go on a real roller coaster, right? Don't go on spiritual roller coasters like that. Understand? Do not trust yourself. Do not trust your feelings. Listen to mom, right? Mom has all the cough gear. I'm pretty sure she listens, okay? You will be happier if you listen to mom because mom understands the heart. When you have those feelings, go to mom and throw away your feelings. Listen to what mom has to say. Understand? Okay? All right. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. What are some spiritual habits? Maybe three habits that you would really ask someone young, maybe around my age range, to really settle on in this journey as well. Good question. Number one, you have to have a mentor. You know, I'm here because of Pastor Kim, because of Pastor John. I cannot do this by myself.

Genuinely speaking. You guys don't see the behind the scenes stuff. There's a lot of things that I struggle with and I'll go to pastors. So number one, people cannot lead their lives spiritually. It doesn't matter how much you read the Bible. This journey was never made for one person. It's always made for a group of people. So you need community. This is the reason why we do this here. This is the reason why the Core of the Heart members get sent to the churches is because I cannot lead them. Even me as a minister, I'm one person. I cannot lead these people. In your heart, you have to have that very clear. Oh, I can't lead myself, right? You're asking the question, how do I essentially grow? If I say I'm trying to get to Korea right now, am I there or not? I'm not, right? Same way, if I'm trying to lead my life, means you can't lead it. You have to see that very clearly. Once you see that, then God will give you these types of resources, whether it's a mentor, whether it's us, right? Whether it's the churches that can lead you and guide you. You know, God built the whole world, right? Why couldn't he build an ark? He established Noah to build the ark.

Why? Because there's a leader. He can snap his fingers and destroy the Egyptians. Why did he establish Moses to then lead them out of slavery? God always worked through the servant. Are you understanding? So you have to, of all things, you have to remember, I can't do this by myself. I wouldn't even dare try. I need a servant. And to look for a servant, is a person who's gospel-centered. Preaching the gospel that you're righteous, sanctification is not a process. You're already wholly perfected now and moving forward with grace. Understand? I understand. There you go. Thank you. For sure, brother. Keep doing what you're doing. You're motivating a lot of people like myself. And I'm glad that I also changed my life around just to do the work of God. And I want to do the same thing that you're doing. Hopefully I can motivate a lot of people to have a lot of followers. You know, that's the main goal. It's to save souls.

I would say really owning the fact that we are perfected and righteous through Christ Jesus, and that we are no longer sinners. That's not something I claim. And I just love how he answered my question too about how you can never make someone see the validity of God's word. He looked at me, he was like, you are the US Postal Service. That's all you have to do. And I'm just so grateful God calls us to just plant a seed and that he ultimately will water it. Recently in my life, I've made lots of mistakes trusting myself, even when I didn't think I was, because like he's told me and like he's teached, like when you trust yourself is obviously feelings come from the devil, you know what I'm saying? Like to keep it short and brief. But that really like resonated in my life because I realized this isn't coming from God, this is coming from me. So I'm here with Johnny Chang.
