The Power of Obedience

Let's talk about the power of obedience. Let me tell you something that most people overlook, and that's obedience because, look, in the kingdom of God, it's not optional. It's the key to unlocking everything that you've been praying for, literally. A lot of people want anointing. They want favor, authority, breakthrough, but not everybody wants to obey the very voice that leads them to it. This is gonna bring a lot of breakthrough to you guys, man, especially those who are new in the faith. Catch this now. I caught this early in my walk, and it really has blessed me. I'm not saying I'm perfect, but what I will say is when I do know that it's the Lord directing me in a certain way, in faith I move with radical obedience. And radical obedience is how you're sped up in Christ, but it will never be rushed. And my brother and my sister, it will be hard. The Lord will have you obeying things like cutting off friendships or breaking up with girlfriend, boyfriend, fleeing from fornication, giving up the drugs, alcohol, reading your word when you don't feel like it or praying when you feel like going to sleep. There's little things that the Holy Spirit will have you do, and it's because you love Him. Look at this, John 14, 15.

Jesus said, if you love me, keep my commandments. That means love is not just expressed in worship and your singing. It's proven through obedience, which is one of the greatest form, if not the greatest form of worship. You can cry during worship and still disobey God. You can preach with fire and still ignore what He told you to do in private because obedience doesn't show up in public performance. It shows up in private surrender. Let me break it down. Obedience is not about legalism. It's about alignment. When you obey, you're saying, God, I trust you more than I trust myself. So in that kind of obedience shifts things. It activates things. It opens doors that talent can't open and unlocks favors that hustle, working all day every day can't reach. Why? Because God blesses obedience. Deuteronomy 28 says, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord, your God, all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you. Obedience attracts the overtaking blessing of God, not because you earned it, but because you're aligned with it. But let's be real. Obedience, again, is not always easy.

It will cost your pride. It will cost you relationships. It will stretch your faith. But I'm telling you, my brother, my sister, it's worth it. You're going to sometimes feel like on this walk in Christ, you're alone. But remember, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you and He's around you. He'll never leave you or forsake you. God is there. You're actually going to start getting more and more comfortable with being alone with the Lord rather than with people. You'll start realizing that the secret place or the meeting place where you pray is so much more exciting. It's so much more exciting to go see God there than to go to the places that you used to love to go. Obedience is what separates the crowd from the called. Everybody wants to be used by God, but few want to obey when it's uncomfortable. Think about Abraham. God told him to leave everything familiar, his country, his family, his comfort zone, and go to the land he'd never see. What did Abraham do? He obeyed. That one act of obedience made him a father to the nations. I'm not saying God is telling you right now, get up and leave, but you need to make sure it's the Lord. It has to align with his word, right?

People come from all over the world and think, man, I'm going to come move to the rock, be homeless, and live in a car, and that's what God wants. And usually we send them back because obedience is so important to the word of God, which is that a man who does not provide for his family is worse than an unbeliever. God does everything in order, decency and order. There's a way that seems right to a man, but the Lord directs his steps. So a lot of these people, they're doing what they feel and not what God says, because God would tell you to prepare a job. God would tell you to have finances to pay your rent. God is not sending you homeless to the streets saying, hey, go out here and just live out here starving. That's what I want. That's not God. That's the devil. God is a God of order. Obedience is how revival starts. Obedience is how strongholds break. Obedience is how destinies are released. So if God is speaking to you, do it. Even if it doesn't make sense in the moment, even if no one understands, even if it stretches you beyond your comfort, delayed obedience is disobedience. I'm going to say it again.

Delayed obedience is disobedience. You're not obeying to earn salvation. Salvation is a gift. You're obeying because you love them and because obedience positions you for purpose. Here's what I want to challenge you to do. Obey quickly, even in the small things. Obey quietly. You don't need an audience and obey consistently, not just when you feel it. It's not going to always feel good to obey. The more you obey the Lord, the clearer his voice gets. I'm going to say that again. The more you obey the Lord. the clearer the voice of the Holy Spirit will get. The more you obey, the stronger your spirit becomes. The more you obey, the more you'll walk in the life He called you to live. This is the power of obedience. It's not glamorous, it's not always loud, but it's the doorway to everything God promised.
