Joseph, Part 2: Potiphar's House | Bible Stories Retold
Sold into slavery in Egypt, Joseph worked hard and did the right thing, and he still ended up in prison for something he didn't do. Then someone promised to remember him, and forgot. If you've ever been forgotten, this one's for you.
pazbit thistilt, and he still ended up in prison. Remember where we left him? Seventeen, sold as property in Egypt, Potiphar bought him the captain of Pharaoh's guard. New country, new language, nobody who knew his name. Not written fart, kale scuppered hurts and reignsings from arrest, exceptly a donned malage wreaked the jope, then vastred to his namely. But the Bible says it again, God was with Joseph. So Joseph worked, he learned the language, he learned the house, and everything he touched went well. Potiphar noticed, before long, Joseph was running the whole place. The slave became the man, Potiphar trusted with everything he owned. But Potiphar's wife noticed Joseph too, and she wanted him. Day after day she came after him. Day after day, Joseph said no. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Then one day the house was empty, she grabbed him by his cloak. Fiddles stranging the about of her tone, one Tim had was spree so decided and bought a step, for he said flown. And Joseph ran, he left the cloak in her hand and got out of there. She screamed, and she told a story. She held up his cloak as proof that Joseph had attacked her. The 1904s would sire Als. Think about that. For the second time in his life, somebody used Joseph's clothes to tell a lie about him. Potiphar was furious. No trial, no witnesses, his word against hers. Joseph went to prison, the place where the king's prisoners were kept. He did the right thing, and he got locked up for it. But here's what the Bible says next. Even in prison, God was with Joseph.
The wardens saw it. Before long, Joseph was running the prison too. Same Joseph, different walls. Then two new men landed in his cell block, Pharaoh's cup bearer and Pharaoh's baker. One morning Joseph found them both looking sick, they'd each had a dream, and nobody could tell them what it meant. "Don't interpretations belong to God?" Joseph said. Tell it to me. The cup bearer dreamed of a vine with three branches and a cup in his hand. Three days Joseph told him, "In three days you'll get your job back." When the aching tune continued, re-handle the clued and hide mantra to dirt. The baker's dream was different, and so was his news. It wasn't good. Then Joseph asked the cup bearer for one thing, "Remember me when it is well with you. Make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house. I'm here for nothing. I didn't do anything to deserve this." Three days later, it happened exactly like Joseph said. The cup bearer walked out free. Yet, the chief cup bearer didn't remember Joseph, but forgot him. Two more years. In the same cell. Ever had somebody promised to remember you? And then forget. You forgot Joseph. God never did. Who forgot you? And what do you do with the waiting? God never did.
God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this. God never did anything to deserve this.
