Paul and Silas were beaten without a trial and locked in the deepest cell of a Roman prison, their feet in the stocks. At midnight they were praying and singing, and the other prisoners were listening. Then an earthquake threw every door open. The jailer was ready to give up on his own life until Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” That night the man with the keys asked how to be saved. So who was really free? (Acts 16)
