Zion Church | Home Work Pt. 3 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle

Summary

Colossians 3 teaches that a healthy family begins with God's design for relationships between husbands, wives, parents, and children. Loving our family is often one of life's greatest challenges because the people closest to us require patience, sacrifice, and personal growth. A thriving marriage cannot be built on human instinct alone—it must be centered on God through prayer, His Word, worship, and intentional communication. Healthy relationships also require practical plans for handling conflict, finances, intimacy, and shared purpose.

This passage reminds us that the spiritual health of a home starts with the choices each family member makes, especially the leadership of husbands and the mutual commitment of spouses to honor God's roles. Rather than chasing an unrealistic picture of the "perfect" family, God calls us to faithfully love the family He has given us. Like the father in the story of the prodigal son, we are challenged to love with grace instead of judgment, trusting that Christ can transform hearts and strengthen every relationship. As we follow God's blueprint, our homes can become places of peace, growth, and lasting legacy.
