Home Work Pt. 10
Zion Church | Home Work Pt. 10 | Senior Pastor Keith Battle
Summary
In Psalm 101, David shows that worship is more than singing to God; it’s a commitment to reflect His love, justice, and character in everyday life. The sermon emphasized that integrity starts at home, where our true character shows through how we treat others when we’re tired, frustrated, or not being watched. Integrity means being the same person in private as we are in public, rather than living a double life. David’s own failures with Bathsheba and Uriah remind us that private compromises can have public consequences, but God’s grace gives us the opportunity to grow, establish better boundaries, and refuse to remain at the level where we fell.
The sermon also challenged us to be intentional about what we allow into our minds and hearts, because what we repeatedly look at and entertain can eventually shape our desires, habits, and actions. Instead of treating temptation as harmless, we must recognize it early and reject thoughts and influences that pull us away from God. Our calling must be supported by our character; we cannot expect God to use us at a higher level while ignoring the areas of our lives that need correction. Ultimately, living with integrity requires daily self-examination, discipline, and grounding ourselves in God’s Word so that our lives reflect Him both publicly and privately.
Homework Part 10. We're about to go in the sanctuary and hear a word about integrity. It begins in the home. That's what we learn from David today and he's a great example for us because he didn't always do right in his own and he learned from it and he has a word that he's going to share with us through the Word of God in Psalm chapter 101 verses 1 to 2. You don't want to miss this. It's a game-changer. See you in the sanctuary. Alright you've been standing before. Stand again one more time if you can for the reading of the Word of God. We're in part 10 of a series called Homework and we didn't get to this last week because y'all was acting up. So I got to see what page this will be. Touch your neighbor. Don't touch your neighbor. Just but say let's tell two people I'm glad you made it to church. Preferably just look at two people you don't you didn't come to church with. I'm glad you made it to church. Point to him. Hey hey glad you're here glad you're here glad you made glad you made sure. This series has been a focus on our home life and our personal lives whether we live alone or we live with other people it's the work we need to do in our personal lives whether that's around our finances or it's around our communication and how we talk to one another whether it's how we raise our children or how we follow our parental instructions whether it's about our marriage or if we're from Lago it's about our merge. We need to spur to work on our merge. Whatever that is we got work to do. How many of you know that song about Isaac brothers they got work to do. You know what I'm saying it's just a battle. They don't know about that. We're gonna play that one week amen. All right let's go to Psalm 101 and read verse 2 verses and then we'll get into today's content. I will sing of your love and justice this is the King King David who's talking I will sing of your love and justice Lord I will praise you with songs. Oh I didn't see that all day I will praise you with songs. He's the king but he's a worshiper. He's in charge but he's a worshiper. He runs a nation but he still loves God unashamedly. Amen. Don't let nobody take your worship. It may be the one thing that's keeping your sanity is your worship. I said it may be who am I talking to. It may be the one thing that's keeping your
sanity is your worship. Amen. It ain't because everything is together it's because somehow you learn how to sing songs through it all. Amen. Amen. He says in verse 2 of this song I will be careful to live a blameless life. Now people will clap in when he was saying I'm a sing to you. I'm gonna tell how great you are. But it's tough passageway when we say what our responsibility is as you told me a few weeks ago I will be careful to live a blameless life. And I don't mind you being quiet on that because that's a contemplative statement. Can I agree with David on that? Is that my desire to live a blameless life? When will you come to help me? And this is where I want to focus today. This statement I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. There you go. Amen. I'm waiting for you to say that. I will lead a life of integrity in my own home in the place where my buttons get pushed. In that place I will lead a life of integrity in a place where I don't get the respect that I think I deserve. I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. When I live with people that I want to hurt sometimes I will lead a life of integrity. In that place, I will lead a life of integrity, in my home, in a place where I like to lay my hair down and not be so holy and righteous. And in my public life, I give so much to be my best self for people I don't really know and then get tired and get home and give my worst self to people that deserve better. In that place, I will lead a life of integrity in my home. So y'all, I guess what we're gonna talk about today, here's my subject, integrity begins at home. You may be seated. We're gonna have to work on our conduct in our house. Our lips smacking and eye rolling and silent violence, our disrespect and dishonor, how we can be so kind to the neighbors, but not kind to one another.
David says, "I will live with integrity in a place where the people already know I'm crazy. So I might as well live up to that or live down to that. While I live down to what people expect, why not live up to what God demands?" "In my home, I will lead a life of integrity." Amen. Well, you might say if you're a reader of the Bible, well, that's King David. I know he ain't talking about living with integrity in his house. Do y'all know what David did in his house? By the way, who got the kids? (audience laughs) It was just Brian, this is out there, the outside. (audience laughs) Amen. I'm so ADD. David in his house was cutting up. Let me get y'all a little background. So, David, this is Psalm 101. When he got caught cutting up in his house, Psalm 51, when he repented from that. This is a distance. This is a newer version of him. But what he did in Psalm 51, he was supposed to be at work, George. Now, this is the thing. The man is supposed to be at work, and he called out. Is that what y'all call it? We call it calling in.
We call it calling in sick. You call it out? He called out. He the king, he was supposed to be out fighting. He said, "I'm not going. I'm staying home." That's mistake number one. Then he was home, took a nap, a siesta. They're turning to a fiesta. They're turning to a fiasco. Because when he woke up from his nap, he took a stroll across his room and something caught his eye. You ever heard this in the Bible? He saw Bathsheba bathing herself. This bathing, actually. And I won't go into the details of the story, but that decision to bring her into his home. Somebody else's wife. And what transpired caused the life of Uriah to be innocently taken, her husband. He ended up losing his integrity, his witness. One of his family members was sexually assaulted. This was the precursor to that. Two of his sons died, Amnon and Absalom, both died. All of that carnage, all of that consequence, based on what he did in his own home. So what right does he have to tell us about living with integrity in his home? And I'll say, he's the best, most qualified person. Because he knows what it costs you when you don't do it.
And he also has lived long enough to forgive himself in order to raise his standard of living beyond that. So that means he's not wallowing in what he did. He's accepted the grace and forgiveness of God, and he's brushed himself off. And now he's demanding a level of integrity in his life so that he never goes backwards. And I don't know what you've done in your past, but I can tell you this, your past doesn't have to define you. You can get up and keep walking and walk at a higher level. You can't walk at the same level you fell at. Ooh. I say, you can't walk at the same level you fell at. You're gonna have to walk more intensely and with more conviction this time because the light is on the line. Now let's go through this passage and then we'll go home. He starts off in verse one, as we saw earlier, by saying, I will sing of your love and justice. Love and justice. He's talking about two characteristics of God that balance the nature of God. If God was all love, he would be too permissible. Too permissible. But God balances His love and His justice. He is both the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. He can pick up little children in His hands and say, "Don't forbid them to come to me for such as the kingdom of God." And then He can put them down and go in a king and go in a temple and take out a whip and chase people out the temple
because He knows when to be which. And David is singing about what he wants in his life. His song is intentional. "God, the same love and justice you have, I want that to be in my life." Be careful what you're singing because you're prophesying it into your own life. He says, "I want to love and be just like you." And from that place of worship, from these songs, He makes this declaration, "I will be careful to live a blameless life." That is my declaration. And then to show His dependence upon God, He immediately says, "And when will you come help me?" (congregation laughing) I love it right there. He's saying, "God, I'm gonna live this life like I'm supposed to, but when you come and I need your help with this, this is a vow that I cannot keep without you. In you I live and move and have my very being. I am, you are the vine. I'm gonna branch this without you. I can do nothing. I'm gonna live this life when you're coming through." (congregation clapping) Now, what I came to talk about is this phrase right here, I will lead a life of integrity in my own home, integrity. To run integrity in its etymological roof meaning actually means to be integrated. It means to be whole, to be one, to not be duplicitous,
to not be splintered, to not have a dual life, to not live two lives. It means to not be fractured or segmented or compartmentalized. It does not mean to be bifurcated. It is, I am one. It doesn't mean I'm perfect, but it means I'm one person. I'm not one way this place and another way this way. I don't cold switch. I am who I am. And let me tell you something. When you live duplicitously like that, when you live two lives like that, that's exhausting. It's hard to live two lives 'cause you gotta keep one from ever being exposed because you got your mild version of yourself. Then you got the wild version of yourself that you gotta keep hitting because you don't want to trust people to see the wild you. And you don't want the people that work to see the wild you. As a matter of fact, when people live with those kind of natures conflicting with one another, usually if it's a young person, if you're a young person, that wild nature of yours doesn't show up in the house because you live under your parents roof and you know they don't play that. So you try to be a more milder version of yourself in the house, but some kids, when they get out the house and get the keys to the car and get out with their friends or get to school or at the game,
then they turn into that wild version of themselves. Well, it's the opposite, that's fake. You call your parents fake, but you fake too. Most adults will flip it around and because they have to keep a reputation to maintain their employment, they like to be the mild version of themselves in public and then they turn on the wild version of themselves at home. So they can cush you out and then say praise the Lord. So blessings and curses come out the same mouth. Y'all ain't gonna help me here. So everybody in the house fake. And the thing is, when you have two versions of yourself, it's eventually gonna be exposed because even if for a while you can cover up the wild part of you and keep up the mild part of you as a facade, eventually those two people will intersect 'cause your wild self always wants to come outside. Yeah. Your wild self always, and it's a lot to try to cover that person. But it's gonna come out because both of them are you. And wherever you go, there you are. So actually the clinical way of dealing with dual natures that we have 'cause we have a divine nature and we have a fallen nature, the clinical way of dealing with that is to not try to allow both people to exist, coexist, it is to try to integrate the people so that the more mature version of yourself, the spiritual version of yourself can help disciple
the less under-disciple version of yourself, the wild side of yourself. How many, let me just do a check-in before I go further in. How many of you know by a show of hands, I don't need to talk to everybody, I need to talk to the people who can relate to me. How many of you know there's something about you, there's a little wild thing in you. There's a little, yeah, you got a little wild part about you and you don't like to admit it, but there's something about you ain't right. How many of you, as a sub? I don't let people see it, but I promise you, something is not right about it. Something the blood didn't even clean all the way up. Something across the Calvary didn't get to, something redemption didn't change. It's still, I love the Lord. He heard my cry and pitied every grown, but I promise you, there is something that's wrong with me. And when you have that duplicity about yourself, the most, the wise thing to do is to integrate it into your life so that the discipled part of you can manage and have authority over, bring it under the auspices of the spiritual part of you. You have the Holy Spirit of God living in you. You don't have to follow the edicts of your flesh. That's just your flesh right there. You got to tell your flesh to know we're not doing that. I know you have great ideas,
'cause your ideas are only for comfort. You just tell me stuff to do to make me feel good right now, but you never count the cost. You want the thrill, but you ain't willing to pay the bill. Oh, that's a bar right there. And the thrill is never worth the bill, so we're not doing that. You have to talk to yourself sometimes and say, I ain't gonna do that. That's how you bring it all together. You ain't just gonna let one or one say, whenever I go out of town, whenever I travel without my spouse or without my loved one, that's when I let the wild side out. I'm telling you, it's gonna catch up with you. You're gonna get exposed. So David says, what I do is, I lead this life of integrity in my home because I've got history that will prove that the first time that I let my home be a place that wasn't integrous, it cost me publicly. When I did what I did, he says, I gotta start it in my home. I gotta start it in my private life. It must start with worship. Hey, before I even say, if you read this song, it's a beautiful flow, it's only eight verses. You can read it in a minute. It's eight verses in this song.
Look at the flow, it starts with worship in verse one. Then he starts saying, I'm gonna live this blameless life. I'm gonna live with integrity in my home. He starts talking about how I'm gonna live in the palace course, how I'm gonna live in the community with integrity, how I'm not gonna associate with the wrong people, how I'm gonna have the right people around me. Then he gets down to verse eight and said, I'm gonna get the city right too. He says, I'm gonna take this integrity and righteousness through my home, out of my worship, into my home, into my palace guards, into the courtyards, and into the community. But it all starts with God. Somebody say it starts with God. (congregation murmurs) You cannot live a life of integrity and skip God. You will come up short. So he says, it must start in my home. So David, I have a question. How are you gonna do that? How, what's your steps to living a life of integrity in your home? Here's step number one. Oh, by the way, that's not, I'm not gonna go that step yet. Let me tell you this. Because this is a leadership song, I wanted to give you this quote to every leader who's listening to me,
whatever you're leading. And it is this quote, your private character must be strong enough to support your public calling. Some of you have an amazing calling on your life. There's a potential for ascension on your life that your character cannot stabilize and sustain. This is ascending, this is wobbly. And the devil is so raunchy that he'll wait till you get elevated to expose that. So did the shame is even worse. And what God is, God is so patient. He's trying to, he's closing doors so he can protect you 'cause he know you're not ready. You cannot, watch this. You cannot have skyscraper calling on your life and you got sandpaper character. You can't be that shallow. So you can't just work on your skills. You got to work on how you manage your thrills. How do you manage that wow, freaky, crazy? Oh, I just cannot be real with y'all. I mean, it's late. How do you manage that part of you? That's the part of you that's gonna tear it down. It's not your skillset. It's your ability to handle pressure. It's your attitude, it's your anger. It's how you pop off on people. It's how you react to people.
You go off on people that don't agree with you now. What are you gonna do when you're elevated, when people that don't know you're firing shots at you? They don't even, what are you gonna do then? So here's what David said. Here's how I'm gonna live with integrity in my home. How you gonna do it, David? The first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna refuse to look at anything vowel and vulgar. I'm gonna let it start with what I look at. And I said, did David have a TV? David is flexing in BC days with a TV. I said, did he have a cell phone? I remember the first time I saw this verse, I was a student at what was then called Washington Bible College. This is the late 1980s, early 1990s, and in the men's dorm at Washington Bible College, the A clause of this verse was on the dormitory, men's dormitory lounge television. He said, "On top of the television, I would refuse to look at anything vowel and vulgar." How about that? Like that? We need that on our televisions. We need that on our iPads and our tablets and our phones, because whatever you're looking at will influence the way you decide and the way you move and what you think is okay. You can just show me what a person is continuing to watch and I'll show you what kind of person they are, because it's all that they consume. It shapes your character, it shapes your thinking, it shapes the way you see life, what you're looking at. And he says, "By the way, by the way, and if you look at it long enough, it can get you in trouble." And that's always been the case.
Do you know the first sin ever in the Bible came from somebody who just kept looking at something? Genesis 3, verse 6, "The woman," I got in trouble because I say this is always them. I ain't really in trouble. I don't know. I might be. Pray for me. The woman looked at the fruit on the tree, then she saw that it would be good to eat. That's different. She just looked at the fruit. Then she saw and said, "Well, that'd be good to eat." And she said, "It's beautiful to look at." Then she wanted it because it would make her become wise. So she took some of the fruits she ate it, then she gave some of the fruits to her husband, who was with her. He also ate it. Lot to unpack there. Let's just stop here at the middle of the verse. I want to show you how these looks, how she looked at these things impacted her decision and led her into a fall of sin. First of all, the first look is what I call the attention stage of temptation. This is when something just catches your eyes, you're like, "Wow, you weren't even looking for it. It just crossed your pathway. It just came up in the algorithms of life for you. But now, what are you going to do with what you saw? If it's not for you, if it's not yours to have, then you've got to turn the channel. You've got to move on to the next thing. You've got to rebuke it. You've got to do something because if you stare at it, she didn't look away.
She says, first of all, all she saw was that it was fruit. Then she kept looking and she said, "Oh, I'll see more about this fruit. It looks good to eat." That's a qualitative look. That's not a glance. We now in the preoccupation stage and then she said, "It's beautiful." That's a evaluative look. Now, I see in something I like to eat and I also see that it's something beautiful. Now, I'm preoccupied with it. Now, it's not just in my eyes, now it's on my mind. You can look at something and walk away from it, but you can look at something and keep looking at it and keep following it and keep going on the page and say, "Let me see what else you got." Then, now it's on your mind. I'm saying everything that you look at is not bad, but there are some things you look at that are traps. She's looking at something that God says, "You're not supposed to eat this." When you're staring at something that's forbidden, it's not yours. He belongs, she belongs, he belongs to someone else. But if you keep looking at it, you'll want what is forbidden. You know how? Because she moves from it being just in her eyes. She's so had to be in this on her mind now to move to her affections in her heart. Now she wants it. It's in her heart now. How does she want it? She doesn't want it because it looks good to eat. She doesn't even want it because it's beautiful. You know why she wants it down? She starts so long about it, the devil is told her a lie about it.
She says, "The devil told it will make you wise." Wait a minute, it's just fruit. When the fruit make you wise, fruit is for eating. But the devil will tell you a lie to get your heart to go after something. - Ooh, whoa! am trying to say something about the devil has told you something about what you should not go after and made you think that it can give you more than it really can it's a trap it's a trap and watch this he will tell you something about it that exposes a deficiency in you this will give you what you're missing you always wanted somebody to understand you but they belong and you got to fix this looking at stuff in your home what are you staring at in your home let me show you some in Genesis chapter 30 there's an interesting story these two dudes Jacob and Laban that's a comedy that's a whole comedy series just watching those two in their interactions both operate in foolish slickeration all the time they just slickeration Jacob is a trickster and so is Laban they got in business together never go in business somebody you don't trust the reason why they got in business together is because Jacob liked love one of Laban's daughters but he ended up marrying two of them because Laban tricked them that's just how the whole thing started yeah I got you so now he's working for the man and he comes from say can we discuss payroll can we discuss discuss compensation so they came up with an agreement so Jacob says all right this is what I think is fair I've never done you wrong or anything but when mating season comes when the sheep are mating um may I have all of the spotted speckled black sheep and then all of the sheep who look regular regular
color sheep stay with you and they agreed to that and so Laban agreed to it and then he had someone steal Jacob sheep all the spotted speckled black sheep were stolen taking miles away so they couldn't mate so he couldn't that was it so all these got as these regular looking sheep so when they made you can't have black kids you can't have speckled kids they're gonna all be Laban's I'm sorry I'm trying to make it make sense to you know so so so Jacob finds out what Laban did so this was Jacob did with his slick self his laban was cruddy so Jacob goes and he takes these branches of a tree and he starts slicing the branches so that white specks and streaks show in the branches and he puts them in the water trough so that watch this when the weak female sheep would come down to to drink water that's what they made it he wouldn't put any of those branches in the water so that but when the strong female sheep would come down he would place them in the water trough where they made it in front of speckled spotted branches and the Bible says you can read this in Genesis chapter 30 every time one of those sheep made it in front of those speckled spotted branches they would deliver speckled spotted sheep they would literally deliver what they stared at they would produce what they stared at now that is evil brilliance but it makes my point be aware of what you're staring at because you might produce it you might produce it because the longer you stare at it the more you go on it and your next move is going to strategize how you can get it and it could destroy you so here's the deal let's keep going let's keep going so so so so so i want i'm not going to go through all the verses i'm going to go to verse four now and because we're talking about we're talking about david and some of the things he's doing
to have a life of integrity in his home and he says one of the things i'm going to do is i will reject perverse ideas everybody say ideas he says i'm not i'm going at the thought level i'm not going to just deal with my wrong behavior i'm going to deal with the thinking that gets me there so perverse ideas i will reject them i don't just passively listen to i reject perverse ideas if it didn't come from god i don't want to think it casting down every imagination and every thought that exhausts itself against the knowledge of god i cast it down why because e i don't care how pleasant and pleasurable authority is if it didn't come from god if you don't reject it you're going to entertain it and if you entertain it long enough you're going to want to experience it. And if you enjoy it, you're gonna keep going back to it. And then you're gonna hide it. And before you know it, you'll be enveloped in it. And so watch this, the thing that you once enjoyed is now bondage in your life. And it all started with an idea. Some people are addicted to something that started off just as an entertaining idea. I wonder what that would be like. And then you sleep, you snuck around, and you found some way you could do it. Ooh, y'all okay on East Side? (audience laughs) Mm-hmm. He says, "I reject ideas." This is the level, this is the things that he says, "I ain't gonna watch it."
Let me ask you something, what you watching? What do you look at? Because whatever you're looking at, just like, what are you looking at? Let me ask you, I can tell you how you know you're looking at the wrong thing. One of the things you know you're looking at the wrong thing is when you're in your house and you're looking at the wrong thing and your spouse comes in, do you change your screen? Or can you look at it in front of everybody in the middle of the house and everybody can come out and look at it, or do you go down in the man cave and look at it? Or do you lock the door? Y'all good in this section? (audience laughs) Can everybody look at it with you? He says, "I'm not only gonna not look at the wrong stuff, "I'm not gonna take wrong." And I says, "What's this?" He says, "I'm gonna stay away from every evil. "I'm not even gonna play with it. "Some of us are so pressed to be accepted by people. "We'll hang around people who are evil, "who are duplicitous just to be in some kind of community." And David says, "My integrity's too important for that. "I'm not even gonna be around it." One of the things I've been saying all day is it concerns me is how loose this generation of Christians is.
I'm talking about y'all loose, loose, carnal. What I mean by loose, it's just like anything goes, it's like, yeah, I got like, Josh just got five on God. I'm gonna put five on the Lord. Like just enough for him to be around. He like, he ain't always even the copilot. Sometimes he in the back of the car. Sometimes I don't let him ride with me. I just, I call him when I need him. Like, there's no surrender or consecration of life. There's none of that. It's just, you're just loose. Just loose. You do what you wanna do. Then you come up with scripture for it and say, "Well, that Bible don't say you can't do that." Well, say you can't smoke crack in the Bible. (congregation laughing) This is one of those crazy stuff. You wanna say perverse stuff out of your mouth. You wanna have a foul mouth and a dirty mouth. You wanna praise God and cuss out the same mouth. You say, "Well, hell is in the Bible." Damn is in the Bible. That's loose stuff. That's just loose stuff. You drink what you wanna drink. You got more liquor in your house now than you have for. You gotta say, you smoke what you wanna smoke.
You sleep with who you wanna sleep with. You go wherever you wanna go. Now that you're old enough, you do whatever you wanna do, you're just loose. And I'm saying some of you don't live that way, but you laugh at people who do. You're like, "Tee hee, ain't no tee hee." What about accountability? What about, I love you too much to watch you ruin your life living in the counter way you want? What about, we don't just applaud people who are living carnally. And yeah, as soon as we saw doing this, I said, "Oh, you holier than thou." No, you want me to be raunchier than thou. You want us to bring down the standard as God. He says, "Be holy, for I am holy." See, we throw little clichés out there to back people up, but the devil is a liar. I'm supposed to be holy like him. (audience applauding) You're so heavily minded, you're normally good. Why just let this mind be in you? That was also in Christ Jesus. Set your mind on things above. And not all things on the earth. We're Christ's risen and seated at the right hand of us. Don't throw them little clichés at me. I know the book. (audience applauding)
Y'all fall for that stuff and live low. Low, loosey. Loose, Lucas. You're just carnal. You're grown, but you just grew old and carnal. There's no distinction in your life. What if God says, "I wanted you to get rid of that, "so I can take you to a higher level than me?" (audience applauding) I remember, I remember, I remember. but I read the story of this warrior. And I can't remember where he was, but he was, they didn't fight with guns. This isn't as many as fight with swords, right? And this swordsman had this cache of swords in his house and he was a successful warrior. And whenever there was a war, one of his attendants would ask him, "How come you only use this sword?" And he had other swords, but whenever it was time to fight, he always used this one. And he said, "I used this one because of how sharp it is." Yeah, he said, "These all look good. They're all name, brand, they're all, you know, high tech, but they're not sharp." He says, "I win with this." You know what God is looking for in this church? He's looking for sharp people. He's looking for people he can use. Not the people who have the best labels on.
He said, "Who can I cut with? Who can I trust? Who's been chiseled down so much in their consecration that when I deliver them is clear where they're coming from. There's no ambiguity about where they stand. There's no confusion about who they are. There's no doubt about where they stand. I can cut with that. I don't mind being used, amen. I don't mind being used for the Lord, amen. If it's only a few people being used for the Lord, maybe it's because they're willing to be sharp and getting sharpened is tough. That's when he always sharpened that sword. He would always put fire on that sword. He wouldn't even clean the house. He had to put bricks on it and stuff off of it to keep it sharp. I'm saying being usable costs you something. So David said, here's the last thing I'm gonna do. I'm going to verse eight. He says, one of the things I'm gonna do is I'm gonna ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip. He says, I'm about to ferret out the wicked in this city. I started out with worship. I lived in Tigris in my home. I put the right people around me. Now I'm coming to clean the city. He said, I'm coming to ferret the city.
You know what a ferret is? Yeah, it is. But you know, the ferret associations came out to me after the 1145, sir. A ferret is an animal that is able to contort his body to get it in small places. It can actually get into spaces that is crazy how small it can become because of his structure. And the reason why hunters use ferrets is because hunters can catch things with a ferret that they can't get to. They sit in the ferret into them little holes and rabbits run out and squirrels run out because a ferret will get out what most people can't find. And David said, I will ferret this wickedness. I will go in and find it. Sometimes when you lead in stuff, you gotta find some. Some stuff is hard to spot. Some stuff is hard to search for it till we find out where it's coming from. He says, that's what I'm going for. And you gotta watch this before you can ferret something in the city. You gotta ferret it in your house. And you gotta ferret it in your life. And I'm saying so many soft Christians in here who will live in loose, you can't ferret nothing. But I'm telling you, it must start in your house. What in your house needs to go? What in your life needs to go?
You're too carnal, you're too loose. Where is it that you keep watching? And Ben's watching and listening to you. It's not helping you. He says, I'm a ferret, that thing. And then he says, you know what? You know how I'm gonna do it? Every day. I'm coming for it every day. Because my integrity is attacked every day. So I have to make sure I'm fighting against everything that's coming against my character every day. That's when the Bible says in Joshua 1, he says, I'm about to say it on the word day and night. Sometimes you gotta wake up with the word, sometimes you gotta go to sleep with the word. When you're going to sleep watching TV, watching junk, everybody's staying up. I'm done, I'm going home. Hey, let me tell you something. If there's a gap between who you are and who you need to be in order to accomplish the call of God in your life, you gotta close that gap. integral you have to be whole that to be a man or a woman of integrity and I encourage you to do that because it'll be worth it it'll be worth it in your life. God bless you. I'm looking forward to seeing you again next week right here on Zion Church. [BLANK_AUDIO]
