What Am I Doing Here? // ¿Qué Estoy Haciendo Aquí?
And we're calling "Worry Less Live More." And if you haven't heard the first two parts... I encourage you to go back on our YouTube channel or podcast. And just take a moment and listen to them. And we're talking about worry. Because worry is universal. And we talked about how we don't worry about right now. We worry about tomorrow. Because tomorrow there's uncertainty. But it's later that we worry about... We talked about how we have to do everything we can today. Because tomorrow there's uncertainty. Because tomorrow there's uncertainty. We were usually fine now. But it's later that we worry about. But it's later that we worry about. We talked about how we have to do everything we can today. But we trust God with tomorrow. And then Jesus comes on the scene. And it's in the theme verse for us. It's what Jesus said. He says, "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow or worry about itself." And we talked about how Jesus is not saying, "Don't worry about tomorrow because your situation isn't that bad." And we talked about how Jesus is not saying, "Don't worry about tomorrow because your situation isn't that bad." And we talked about how Jesus is not saying, "Don't worry about tomorrow because your situation isn't that bad." And then we talked about how Jesus is not saying,
"Don't worry about tomorrow because your situation isn't that bad." He's not saying that. But rather, your Heavenly Father is really that good. He's not saying that. But rather, your Heavenly Father is really that good. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. He's not saying that. But rather, your Heavenly Father is really that good. And it was the last day of school before Christmas break. It's a day of joy, of excitement. I was pumped. I showed up to class. I showed up to class. I had to smell cookies. The teacher is making gingerbread cookies. If you know me, you know I can eat. I can eat. I have a spiritual gift of eating. I eat so much I don't know when to stop. I eat so much until I hate myself. I just remember. Oh my gosh gingerbread and cookies. I can't wait. I can't wait. And then time comes and she opens up the oven. And she says, Oh, oh, guys. There's one missing. What do you mean missing? Look, guys, there's a note. What do you mean there's a note? Then she reads the note. Run, run as fast as you can.
You can't catch me. I'm the gingerbread man. Guys, we have the gingerbread man to catch. And every kid are like, Oh, my guy is so cool. And I'm like, Are you guys dumb? What do you mean there's a cookie walking around? You're telling me somehow this cookie. And now he's challenging us to play a game. You see, I grew up in church. And when there's objects that move, we have a name for that. We call that demonic. So I'm freaking out. My heart is just racing. And all these kids are like, I can't wait to find it. Now time came. Everyone's sleeping. Not me. Guess who's in the seating in Jesus name. Playtime came. Everyone's playing. Guess who's having spiritual warfare by the swing set. And then I'll write to this conclusion. There's no way this can just happen. I looked at my teacher. I'm like, this lady has been messing with the Ouija boy. And she would draw little footprints in the classroom. When no one was looking. (speaking in foreign language) - I know these little kids, oh my gosh, look, you just passed by. (speaking in foreign language) - And I'm like, are you guys dumb? (speaking in foreign language) - There's a creature created from the depths of hell. (speaking in foreign language) - And it's walking around our classroom. (speaking in foreign language) - So there is an end to this story. (speaking in foreign language) - At the end of the day. (speaking in foreign language) - There he was.
(speaking in foreign language) - For the gingerbread man returned to its original form. (speaking in foreign language) - And there was a note right next to him. (speaking in foreign language) - I had fun today class. (speaking in foreign language) - Have a good winter break. (speaking in foreign language) - No. (speaking in foreign language) - No. (speaking in foreign language) - You don't get to do that to us. (speaking in foreign language) - You ruined my day. (speaking in foreign language) - I'm still shaking because of it. (speaking in foreign language) - You ruined my life. (speaking in foreign language) - So much worrying and anxiety I had that whole day. (speaking in foreign language) - I couldn't concentrate. I couldn't eat. (speaking in foreign language) - Thinking about a cookie walking around. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language)
(speaking in foreign language) - But you know what worry does the small thing? (speaking in foreign language) - You can write this down. (speaking in foreign language) - But worry gives small things big shadows. (speaking in foreign language) - It's small. (speaking in foreign language) - But you don't realize it's small. (speaking in foreign language) - Until you're on the other side. (speaking in foreign language) - You don't realize it's small. (speaking in foreign language) - Until you stop worrying about it. (speaking in foreign language) - And then you say things like this. (speaking in foreign language) - I can't believe I worried so much over that. (speaking in foreign language) - I lost so much sleep over that. (speaking in foreign language) - So much time and energy. (speaking in foreign language) - Over something that never even happened. (speaking in foreign language) - It didn't even happen. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language)
- And I was so worried. (speaking in foreign language) - It was so small. (speaking in foreign language) - But you can't see the size of it when you're worried. (speaking in foreign language) - Because worry gives small things big shadows. (speaking in foreign language) - And you say I can't believe I allowed that to dominate my life. (speaking in foreign language) - Because if you feed a thought long enough. (speaking in foreign language) - It will consume your mind. (speaking in foreign language) - And if it consumes your mind. (speaking in foreign language) - It will overpower your life. (speaking in foreign language) - And if it all powers your life. (speaking in foreign language) - You're gonna arrive to this place in life. (speaking in foreign language) - That you say I can't take it anymore. (speaking in foreign language) - I wanna look at the Old Testament. (speaking in foreign language) - There was a prophet. (speaking in foreign language)
- That worried so much. (speaking in foreign language) - That he arrived to this very unhealthy place in his life. (speaking in foreign language) - And maybe like you. (speaking in foreign language) - He loved God. (speaking in foreign language) - He was faithful to God. (speaking in foreign language) - But he struggled with worry and anxiety. (speaking in foreign language) - His name is Elijah. (speaking in foreign language) - And Elijah had this direct line to heaven. (speaking in foreign language) - Like he would pray and it would rain. (speaking in foreign language) - And he would pray and it would stop raining. (speaking in foreign language) - I mean God would use him to do amazing miracles. (speaking in foreign language) - So let me give you the scene. (speaking in foreign language) - The year is 860 BC. (speaking in foreign language) - And at the time Ahab is king. (speaking in foreign language) - But Ahab was a horrible king. (speaking in foreign language)
- And the thing about Ahab is that he led the people away from serving God. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - And they started serving false gods. (speaking in foreign language) - And at one point Elijah is up against 850 false prophets. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - And the false prophets pray and nothing happens. (speaking in foreign language) - And then Elijah prays and nothing happens. Elijah prays and fires the sense from heaven. (speaking in foreign language) - So the false prophets actually bow down. (speaking in foreign language) - And they acknowledge that the God of Elijah is the true God. (speaking in foreign language) - And king Ahab is furious. (speaking in foreign language) - And God does for Ahab. (speaking in foreign language) - When we astray, (speaking in foreign language) - God uses people to speak into our lives. (speaking in foreign language) - You know this. (speaking in foreign language) - And when you hear something, you know it's true. (speaking in foreign language)
- But you don't like. (speaking in foreign language) - What happens? (speaking in foreign language) - We get angry. (speaking in foreign language) - We ignore it. (speaking in foreign language) - We dismiss it. (speaking in foreign language) - And Ahab is frustrated. (speaking in foreign language) - But the thing about Ahab. (speaking in foreign language) - He has a wife. (speaking in foreign language) - And she's worse. (speaking in foreign language) - Her name is Jezebel. (speaking in foreign language) - Maybe you've heard of her. (speaking in foreign language) - Maybe you've heard of her name. (speaking in foreign language) - And maybe you've heard Christians say things like this. (speaking in foreign language) - Oh my gosh, she just has like a Jezebel spirit. (speaking in foreign language) - That's what that really means. (speaking in foreign language)
- Dude, she's just crazy. (speaking in foreign language) - She's just a crazy person. (speaking in foreign language) - So Jezebel is furious. (speaking in foreign language) - And she tells Ahab. (speaking in foreign language) - You wanna get a job done, right? (speaking in foreign language) - Let me handle it. (speaking in foreign language) - I'm going to kill Elijah. (speaking in foreign language) - Now from our perspective. (speaking in foreign language) - What does Elijah have to worry about? (speaking in foreign language) - Nothing, really. (speaking in foreign language) - But it would make sense. (speaking in foreign language) - To actually read this in scripture. (speaking in foreign language) - And Elijah sent word to Jezebel saying. (speaking in foreign language) - We'll come on over, honey. I can turn on and off the rain. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language)
- Did you not hear about the Disney fireworks show on the mountain? (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - Hey Jezebel, I've got a great idea. Let's meet up on Mount Carmel. (speaking in foreign language) - So what does Elijah have to worry about? (speaking in foreign language) - Nothing. (speaking in foreign language) - Like, yes Jezebel is powerful. (speaking in foreign language) - But God has been very faithful with Elijah. (speaking in foreign language) - What does Elijah have to worry about? (speaking in foreign language) - Nothing. (speaking in foreign language) - That's obviously not what we find in scripture. (speaking in foreign language) - This is what actually happened. (speaking in foreign language) - Elijah was afraid and he ran for his life. (speaking in foreign language) - He actually spiraled into deep depression and anxiety. (speaking in foreign language) - And when he came to Bathsheba in Judah. (speaking in foreign language) - He left his servant there while he himself
went a day's journey into the wilderness. (speaking in foreign language) - He came to a broom bush, sat under it and prayed that he might die. (speaking in foreign language) - I've had enough, Lord. He said, "Take my life. "I am no better than my ancestors." (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - Great Elijah, did you just forget? (speaking in foreign language) - What God has just done? (speaking in foreign language) - The fire from heaven. (speaking in foreign language) - Elijah, what's wrong with you? (speaking in foreign language) - Something happened that he was consumed with fear and anxiety. (speaking in foreign language) - Because he wasn't worried about now. (speaking in foreign language) - But Jezebel said, "Come tomorrow, your life is over." (speaking in foreign language) - So he's not afraid of now. (speaking in foreign language) - He was afraid of tomorrow. (speaking in foreign language) - Of what was going to happen in the future.
(speaking in foreign language) - And notice how irrational he is. (speaking in foreign language) - His fear is, "I don't want to die." (speaking in foreign language) - But now he's telling God, "Just kill me, I can't handle it." (speaking in foreign language) - He's arrived to this place that he can't do it anymore. (speaking in foreign language) - And maybe you've arrived to this place as well. (speaking in foreign language) - When you're carrying so much weight and so much pressure on your shoulders. (speaking in foreign language) - What is it that we say? (speaking in foreign language) - I can't take it anymore. (speaking in foreign language) - It's too much. (speaking in foreign language) - It's all the drama. (speaking in foreign language) - All the stress. (speaking in foreign language) - The pressure with the bills. (speaking in foreign language) - Maybe you're in a relationship. (speaking in foreign language) - And you're working so hard. (speaking in foreign language)
- But it seems like this relationship is going downhill. (speaking in foreign language) Maybe you're dealing with an issue. You thought it was over. You thought you were past it. And now you're like, "Again?" The same thing again in my life? I can't take it anymore. I can't take it anymore. And a couple of things happen when we arrive to this place. We make a couple of mistakes. And Elijah made these mistakes. The first thing we tend to do. We isolate ourselves. See, Elijah ran away. Which was 100 miles away. He left his servants. His friend. He said, "I don't need you anymore." I'll do this alone. I'll push through the situation by myself. He isolated himself. And the second thing we tend to do. We focus on the negative. We focus on the negative. Elijah said, "I'm no better than my ancestors." I'm no better than them. We stay focused on the negative. I'm just like my mom. And I don't want to be like my mom.
I'm just like my dad. No one's ever going to understand. I hate this job. I can't stand these people. I'm always going to struggle. I'm always going to be alone. I'm always going to suffer. We focus on the negative. And the final mistake. And the biggest mistake we tend to do. We erase God's faithfulness. Isn't it crazy? That the worries of today have a way of erasing the faithfulness of God from our yesterday's. Elijah couldn't remember. Because in Elijah's life. God was present every step of the way. He was faithful. His power was visible. His provision was real. But in this moment. Elijah does what we all tend to do. We face our problems while forgetting our God. And look at what Elijah does next. Then he laid down under the tree and fell asleep. Once an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat." He looked around and thereby his head was some bread baked over hot coals and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then laid down again.
The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him He said, "Get up and eat for the journey is too much for you." In other words, Elijah, you're killing yourself. You're so stressed out Elijah. You're worrying so much. You're thinking so much. You're not eating. You're not sleeping. You're not sleeping. So I want to give you three practical things. And we ought to do in our lives. As we prepare for the uncertainty of tomorrow. Very practical. Here's the first one. I will rest my body. I will rest my body. Then I need to hear a word from God. See, sometimes the most spiritual thing could do in your life. Come on, that's good preaching right there. I'm going to take a nap. I don't want to be like Jesus that way. Jesus was sleeping in a storm. (speaking in foreign language) - Because Jesus wanted us to know. - God wants us to understand that we need to rest our body. - You scared that we need to rest our body. - Some of you guys, you're running around so much. - You're doing so much. - We need to learn how to rest our body. - Take time to rest with your family. - Rest with your spouse.
- Are you taking care of yourself? - Are you eating well? - Are you sleeping enough? - Studies actually show that lifestyle changes. - Such as exercise, good sleep, and nutrition. - It will help the levels of anxiety. - And it will help the levels of stress that you have in your life. - Let's be responsible. - With the body that God has entrusted us with. - For scripture says it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. - We need to learn how to rest our body. - Then Elijah woke up. - And there was food next to him. - Bread and water. - Meaning that his servant that he left behind. - His friend. - That he trusted. - That he caught up to him. - And he cared about the condition of Elijah. - So here's number two. - I will be refreshed with the right people. - Because that's part of God's plan. - Oh man, the people I'm with, they stressed me out. - This is just the wrong people. - You need people that are praying for you. - People are going to be honest and real with you. - People that will ask you, how are you doing? - And won't take on fine as an answer. - And that might mean.
- Learning how to say no to the wrong people. - So how do you know they're the right people? - Well when you're with them. - Ask yourself this question. - Am I being filled, am I being drained? - Do you feel like you're being refreshed and encouraged? - Or do you feel depleted and tired? - Because we're surrounding ourselves with the wrong people. - And they aren't pushing you towards God's purpose. - They're not pushing you to become a better version of yourself. - In some ways it feels like they're dragging you down. - And here's the last one. - I will refocus my spirit. - God is trying to refocus Elijah's spirit. - And Elijah should have been encouraged with his name. - Because Elijah's name literally means God is my breath. - Another word, God is my source. - God is my sustainer. - God is my strength. - He's with me. - But he can't remember. - Because his worries. - Look at what Elijah does next. - And the word of the Lord came to him. What are you doing here, Elijah? - From where I had you. - What are you doing here? - We're so worried about tomorrow. - We're so stressed out about what's happening. - That we have disconnected ourselves from our families.
- You're in the place you've never been for emotionally. - You're in the place you've never been for mentally. - You've distanced yourself from your marriage. - Yes, you're there physically. - But emotionally and mentally. - You're not there. - And today God wants to ask you. - What are you doing here? - What are you doing here? - You don't belong here. - You don't belong in this place in Mozart. - You don't belong here. - You don't belong here. - You don't belong here. - You don't belong in this place in Mozart. - You don't belong in this place emotionally. - You don't belong in this place emotionally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place emotionally. - You don't belong in this place emotionally. - You don't belong in this place emotionally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - You don't belong in this place mentally. - Maybe Elijah thought to himself.
- And that is going to change. - And that is going to change, what? - How is that going to help me? - You passing by? - I don't think you realize God. - My life has been threatened. - Jezebel was after me. - I'm just like my ancestors. - I just rather die right now. - Why are you going to pass by? - And he didn't listen. - He stayed in the cave. - Look at what God does next. - Then a great and powerful win toward the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord. - The Lord was not in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was not in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the earthquake. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind.
- The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind. - The Lord was in the wind.
And picks them up. [SPEAKING SPANISH] In other words-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] Elijah never died.
[SPEAKING SPANISH] So the thing he feared the most-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] Never even happened. [SPEAKING SPANISH] I think a lot of times-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] The things we fear the most-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] The stuff we worry about-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] Never even happens in our lives. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And we waste so much time worrying now. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And so stressed out. [SPEAKING SPANISH] See, I can't let my worry and stress. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] Lead me to a place I don't belong. [SPEAKING SPANISH] But sometimes-- [SPEAKING SPANISH] We worry. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And it happens. [SPEAKING SPANISH] But it wasn't as bad. [SPEAKING SPANISH]
That's like, oh, that was it? [SPEAKING SPANISH] Oh my gosh, I've worried so much over that. [SPEAKING SPANISH] It was great. [SPEAKING SPANISH] It's OK. [SPEAKING SPANISH] But there will be moments in your life. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And I pray it's few. [SPEAKING SPANISH] That you worry. [SPEAKING SPANISH] It happens. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And it's bad. [SPEAKING SPANISH] In fact, it's worse than you could possibly imagine. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] And you feel like your world is falling apart. [SPEAKING SPANISH] But can I tell you in those moments? [SPEAKING SPANISH] That the goodness of God is enough. [SPEAKING SPANISH] That he will sustain you. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He will strengthen you.
[SPEAKING SPANISH] In any trial, in any storm. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Because he is our strength. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He's our peace. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He's our breath. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He's our source. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He's not going to give up on you. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He's not leaving you. [SPEAKING SPANISH] He won't forsake you. [SPEAKING SPANISH] But rather he whispers. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Because he's close. [SPEAKING SPANISH] So what am I going to do today? [SPEAKING SPANISH] I will rest my body. [SPEAKING SPANISH] I will be refreshed with the right people. [SPEAKING SPANISH] I will refocus my spirit to heaven. [SPEAKING SPANISH] I'll do what I can today.
[SPEAKING SPANISH] And I trust that you will be there tomorrow. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Whenever you want to close your eyes and bow your hands. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] Maybe you're here. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And you feel like Elijah. [SPEAKING SPANISH] If you're honest with yourself. [SPEAKING SPANISH] You feel like you can't take it anymore. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Maybe you've isolated yourself. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Maybe you're focused on the negative. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Well, maybe you've forgotten that God has been faithful. [SPEAKING SPANISH] I just want to take a moment and just pray for you. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Heavenly Father in this moment. [SPEAKING SPANISH] We pray for peace. [SPEAKING SPANISH] We pray for clarity. [SPEAKING SPANISH] We pray that we can sense your spirit. [SPEAKING SPANISH]
That you whisper. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Because you're close to us. [SPEAKING SPANISH] That you care for us. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Remind us, Lord. [SPEAKING SPANISH] That because you've been faithful in our yesterday's. [SPEAKING SPANISH] You'll be faithful in our tomorrow's. [SPEAKING SPANISH] God in this moment. [SPEAKING SPANISH] We decide. [SPEAKING SPANISH] To learn how to rest our bodies. [SPEAKING SPANISH] God lead us to be around the right people. [SPEAKING SPANISH] [SPEAKING SPANISH] To bring the right relationships in our life. [SPEAKING SPANISH] So our spirit could be refreshed. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And we redirect our sights and our hearts. [SPEAKING SPANISH] To you, Heavenly Father. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Thank you, Lord.
[SPEAKING SPANISH] For always being there. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Maybe you're here today. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And if you're honest. [SPEAKING SPANISH] You feel far from God. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And today you want to change that right now. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Maybe you're once a father of Jesus. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And because of the pressure of life. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And because of the stress that you've been experiencing. [SPEAKING SPANISH] You've walked away. [SPEAKING SPANISH] And the Lord is telling you today. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Just go back the way you were. [SPEAKING SPANISH] Go back to where you came from. [SPEAKING SPANISH] In other words, come back home. [SPEAKING SPANISH] If you're here today, you feel far from God. [SPEAKING SPANISH] "Just whisper this prayer in your heart."
"I'm not going to tell you to stand up, I'm not going to tell you to come to the front." "I'm not going to tell you to come to the front." "I'm not here to embarrass you." "We're rather to connect you with a father that loves you." "If that's you, just pray this in your heart." "I'm not here to follow us as a source of truth or a song." "Heavily Father in this moment." "I surrender my life to you." "I surrender my life to you." "Give you my past." "Give you my sin." "Give you my mistakes." "In exchange." "For your love." "For your relationship." "For your acceptance." "In this moment, I choose to follow you." "In this moment, I choose to follow you." "Change me from the inside out." "To me, I surrender everything." "To me, I surrender everything." "And your name we pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray."
"And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray." "And to know I pray. And you can take this message further and faster and make a difference in the lives of so many people." "You can give using the link below or by visiting our website at MyVisionChurch.org." "We love you so much and we're looking forward to seeing you back here next time." "Losa mamos mucho y esperamos ver los novamente la proximity." You
