Rechazado Pero Aceptado // Rejected But Accepted

Because in two weeks, we will be starting up at one of the most amazing series in that is called "At the Movies." It is when church and the movies come together. Why do we do this? Because Jesus used stories. He used parables and culture. To communicate great spiritual truth. This is why the entire month of July, we will be using movies to teach very powerful truths. And for those of you watching online, because of licensing and copyrights, our sermons will not be recorded. This is something to live and experience in person. This is why during these weeks, you can't miss any Sundays next month. Outside we have invite cards, take as many as you need. So you can invite your family members and friends. We're going to have popcorn and free drinks for everyone. It's going to be an incredible experience. How many of you are ready for this? But today we continue on today's the third week of summer with vision. And we've been talking about the journey of life. And today I want to talk about the life of a man named David. He is a very popular character in the scriptures. It is that man who, as a young boy, defeated a great giant. And then he became the king of Israel. But what many people don't know about King David. It's that he struggled with a certain area of his life. And today we're going to be talking about that struggle that he had. But also God's solution. Let's look at what the scripture says. Now David was the son of Jesse. Jesse had eight sons, and during Saul's reign was already an old man.

Listen, in the Bible, the number seven is very significant. It represents completion. And when you think that your entire family is complete. That is where David comes in. And what do you call that eighth kid when you're already advanced in years? You call it a mistake. The verse continues to say Jesse's three oldest sons had followed Saul to the war. But David kept going back and forth from Saul to attend his father's flock in Bethlehem. Listen, David would be recognized by the king in his entire kingdom as talented, gifted and anointed. The king prepared a place for David. He made him his armor bearer. He was also the king's favorite musician. He was seen and heard by many, but David kept going back and forth to Bethlehem from King Saul to his father Jesse, from the palace to the pasture, from a place of recognition and success, to a place where he was rejected because he was not accepted by his father. And even though the king saw it, he admired him and appreciated him. There was someone who didn't. - Someone who David desperately wanted to be appreciated by. - (speaks in foreign language) - And David spent a great part of his life. - (speaks in foreign language) - Going back and forth to Bethlehem. - (speaks in foreign language) - Trying to show something to someone. - (speaks in foreign language) - And I want to talk about this journey. - (speaks in foreign language) - I want to talk about being trapped in a cycle.

- (speaks in foreign language) - And some of us don't even recognize that we are trapped. - (speaks in foreign language) - And here's the first thing that David suffered. - (speaks in foreign language) - David was rejected by his father. - (speaks in foreign language) - God tells the prophet Samuel. - (speaks in foreign language) - To tell the current king that is to say Saul. - (speaks in foreign language) - That his days were numbered. - (speaks in foreign language) - That his kingdom is coming to an end. - (speaks in foreign language) - And now God is searching for a man. - (speaks in foreign language) - A man after God's own hearts. - (speaks in foreign language) - So God says to the prophet, go to the house of Jesse. - (speaks in foreign language) - To anoint the new king. - (speaks in foreign language) - And look at what the scripture says. - (speaks in foreign language) - Fill your horn with oil and be on your way. - (speaks in foreign language) - I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. - (speaks in foreign language)

- I have chosen one of his sons to be king. - (speaks in foreign language) - So God says to the prophet, you're going to the house of Jesse. - (speaks in foreign language) - Because there is a king amongst his kids. - (speaks in foreign language) - So Jesse calls his seven sons starting with the oldest. - (speaks in foreign language) - Because of course they're looking for that man. - (speaks in foreign language) - That God has said that has to be a man after God's own hearts. - (speaks in foreign language) - They call the oldest, but it's not the oldest. - (speaks in foreign language) - They call the second, the third. - (speaks in foreign language) - And they're not it either. - (speaks in foreign language) - They call the fourth and the fifth, and it's not any of them. - (speaks in foreign language) - They call the sixth and the seventh, and it's not them either. - (speaks in foreign language) - Samuel starts to get worried. - (speaks in foreign language) - And he says, is it that I came to the wrong house? - (speaks in foreign language)

- But then he asked Jesse. - (speaks in foreign language) - Do you have any more kids? - (speaks in foreign language) - Because I'm sure you didn't leave anyone out, right? - (speaks in foreign language) - And Jesse answers them very calmly. - (speaks in foreign language) - In fact, I did leave one out, the youngest. - (speaks in foreign language) - Because I can't imagine a king in him. - (speaks in foreign language) - And I left him tending the sheep. - (speaks in foreign language) - Listen, as a child, from a kid's age, David. - (speaks in foreign language) - He felt the rejection of his father. - (speaks in foreign language) - But Samuel says to Jesse, go call for him and bring him here. - (speaks in foreign language) - And the scripture says that as soon as David entered the house. - (speaks in foreign language) - The Spirit of the Lord spoke to the prophet. - (speaks in foreign language) - And he said to him, get up and anoint him. - (speaks in foreign language) - Because he is the one. - (speaks in foreign language)

- David not only felt the rejection of his father. - (speaks in foreign language) - But he was also, number two. - (speaks in foreign language) - He was unseen by his father. - (speaks in foreign language) - It's incredible how there was a king amongst the Jesse's kids. - (speaks in foreign language) - And Jesse could not see it. - (speaks in foreign language) - I ask myself, how many times as parents? - (speaks in foreign language) - Especially the fathers. - (speaks in foreign language) - We don't see that king in our kids. - (speaks in foreign language) - Not only do we not see it. - (speaks in foreign language) - But we also don't speak it. - (speaks in foreign language) - And I'm going to say it this way, you can write this down. - (speaks in foreign language) - We need to call the king out of the kid. - (speaks in foreign language) "But the problem is that we have so many silent fathers that don't say anything to their kids." "Fathers that are blind and they can't see it." "And then we have kids that grow up."

"And they don't know that there is a king in them." "They don't know that there is a purpose in them." "They don't know that God wants to use them." "And they grow up asking themselves whether they are good enough." "Whether there is any value in them." "Because someone did not see the king in the kid." "And the problem with the sons and daughters." "That are not seen by their fathers." "Because they never heard from their fathers." "A declaration where they said, 'Son, daughter, you are important.'" "You have a great purpose." "I see the hand of God upon your life." "And this was happening to David." "David had number three." "He had wounds produced by his father." "That horrible feeling of being invisible." "It can produce secondary visible effects." "It produces certain behaviors in our kids." "And something that we see in David's journey." "This was caused by his father's actions." "And we see so many people in this life." "That were unseen by their fathers." "So these are kids and look at what they do." "They perform for affirmation." "And they work so much." "And they can be people that are successful anywhere." "But they work desperately." "Because they want to show someone something." "Because they never heard it when they were kids." "They never heard that they were enough."

"They never had a father that would say to them." "Son, daughter, you are enough." "I love you for who you are." "But when the kids don't hear this." "They feel like they have to work so hard in life." "To obtain this affirmation." "That was David." "David could work in the pasture." "He could work in the palace." "And he could kill lions and bears." "I ask myself what kind of kid fights against lions and bears." "Only the type of kid that is desperate." "Trying to get his father's attention." "Let's remember that he is tending to his father's sheep." "Let's remember that he is tending to his father's sheep." "Let's remember that he says I'm going to be the best shepherd." "That my father has ever seen." "A father, did you see that lion after that sheep?" "Don't worry, I will go after it." "Dad, did you see I killed the lion, I killed the bear." "Can you see it?" "If you'd like, I'll give you the fur of these animals." "That is necessary." "To get the attention of my father." "And this is what David is doing." "But even then, Jesse, his father could not see him." amazed at how many parents. my family but what good is a bigger more spacious house if you're never there as a father your children don't need a new car your kids need a father at the end of the day you're working to obtain your value

because you never heard that you were enough when you were a kid and those wounds from the past they are producing actions in the present but it's so exhausting to live this way but there are kids who are working so hard to obtain affirmation or simply this is what they do they disconnect from their duty so sometimes the kids that work so hard they simply just give up so the person that i was making a great effort initially many times they don't even try later on because it is just simply easier to disconnect from their duties but let's fast forward in david's life now david has become the king of israel he has been striving his whole life he has been working hard his whole life he is so successful but he has just realized that it's still not enough so then it's as if he's given up and look at what happened in the spring at the time when kings go off to war david remained in jerusalem david sent his general to fight a war where he should have been fighting one evening david got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace what are you doing david getting up out of bed so late where were you at last night that you needed to sleep in all day what are you doing king david you are the king of a nation and do you know what it was look at what he was lacking he lacked the voice of his father and here's what happens with the voice of a father it is fundamental for the future of your kids if you are present or absent you will always see the great impact so we should call the king out of the kid

but also look at this we need to call the kid out of the king because just as there is a king and every kid and every king there is still a kid what makes a man take responsibility and not act like a kid is that voice of a father that says to him you're better than this you are a king and you need to act as such listen to this a good father will not allow a king to sleep all day without going to work but david did not have this voice he was working for that affirmation but now he is sleeping all day completely disconnected from his purpose his duty now he's out for a walk 안녕하 안녕하녕하녕하세요. Have you ever gone to the store? And seeing a kid asking his parents for something. And the parents say no. The scene that that child is going to cause there in that store. They'll throw themselves on the floor, they're going to scream, they're going to cry. They're going to kick. And you see that kid. You may not have kids yet, but you see that kid. And you say when I have my kids. They will never act this way. But then you have kids. And they do exactly the same thing. They're going to scream, they're going to cry.

Because they have no idea how much what they want costs. Because they don't even care. David the King sees something that he wants. And he has no idea how much it costs. Because he doesn't even care. Batcheba is her name. And he wants her. It will cost him so much. And he doesn't recognize how much it will cost him because he doesn't care. And do you know why? Because he's acting like a kid in a store. Not like a king. Trying to obtain the affirmation of everyone in a moment. And then in another moment he doesn't even care. And do you know why? Because he was lacking the voice of a father. Fathers. Your voice is important. David didn't have that voice when he was a king, nor when he was a kid. His father never celebrated him. But other people did. And in a moment where King Saul says, "Someone find me the best musician." Someone in the palace cried out and said, "I know the right person." How is it possible that a stranger in a palace so far away? Outside of your home. You can see the gifts inside your house better than you can. It's incredible. But fathers, listen, look at this. Your kids will always gravitate to a place where their gifts are celebrated. And then you ask yourself why your kids don't want to be at home.

Why they spend the majority of their time somewhere else. You know why? Because you don't see the king that is in your kids. So David gets to the palace, he begins to work for the king. And look at what happened. When David came to Saul and entered his service, Saul admired him greatly. And David became his armor bearer. Then Saul sent word to Jesse, "Let David remain in my service." And look at what Saul says. For I am pleased with him. Now David hears what he needed to hear. And he doesn't hear it from whom he needed to hear it from. And many times it can be the right words. But if they don't come from the right source, it will not be enough. Every year on this day I remember my dad. My dad was a man of very few words, he didn't talk much. But before he passed away one day he said to me. And I will never forget this. He came close to me and said, "Son, I'm proud of you." You're a good preacher. "Someone, an outsider, could have said to me that I was the worst preacher." "And it wouldn't have mattered to me." "Because it didn't come from the right source." "But what my father said to me." "Well, it came from him in that moment." "It came from the right source." "When he said to me, I'm proud of you." "You're a good preacher." "This is when sometimes I feel, and the enemy says to me that I didn't preach." "I quickly remember."

"My father said that I was a good preacher." "And that is what matters to me." "And that is what matters to me." "Something came from someone from the right source." "And even though Saul said to David, David, you're amazing." "I'm proud of you." "It was not enough." "And Saul said to Jesse, let David stay in the palace with me." "And Jesse very calmly says, let's find, let him stay there." "But the Bible says that David continued to go back and forth from one place to another." "From Saul to his father, Jesse." "From the palace to the pasture." "I have success, but it's not enough." "Everyone sees me." "But I continue to be unseen to the person who I need affirmation from." "This is why I look at this." "There is some fulfillment that a promotion cannot provide." "There is such a powerful meaning that your boss cannot give." "There is such an important meaning that a new house cannot give." "There is something in each of us." "That needs the affirmation of a father." "Because if you don't obtain it, you will continue to run from one place to another." "You will continue to run from one place to another." "From Saul to Jesse." "From the palace to the pasture." "Successful but not satisfied." "Acomplished but never feeling truly affirmed." "I've seen so many adult men and women who have worked so hard." "And they've achieved so much, but they keep running back and forth from one place to another." "And David's father passes away. We don't even realize it."

"How is it possible that David doesn't even mention him?" "My question is, how can David now run to Bethlehem?" "Looking for the affirmation of his father when he is no longer there." "But what's interesting in the life of David?" "Is that at the end with his last words." "He says I've found what I was searching for." "Look at second Samuel." "These are the last words of David." "The one anointed by the god of Jacob." "David is saying I am the son of Jesse." "I don't disown my father." "Nor am I going to be upset about it." "That is where I come from. That's part of my story." "There were seasons where I worked really hard." "And there were seasons where I just simply gave up." "But I realized something." "That what truly gave me value." "What truly gave me strength." "What truly helped me to overcome was." It's the end of the video! (speaking in foreign language) I was called by the God of Jacob. (speaking in foreign language) And I love what God says about David in song. (speaking in foreign language) Look at what God says. (speaking in foreign language) He says, "I have found." (speaking in foreign language) God says, "I was searching for a man."

(speaking in foreign language) After my own heart. (speaking in foreign language) And I have found him. (speaking in foreign language) He continues to say. (speaking in foreign language) My servant David. (speaking in foreign language) With my holy oil, I have anointed him. (speaking in foreign language) And the verse continues to say. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) He shall cry to me. You are my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. (speaking in foreign language) Now, David is saying. (speaking in foreign language) God, I am going to call you my father. (speaking in foreign language) You are the only one I need. (speaking in foreign language) That man that had been rejected. (speaking in foreign language) That man that had felt invisible before his father. (speaking in foreign language) That man that felt he never had a father. (speaking in foreign language) Now he is saying, God, I am going to call you my father.

(speaking in foreign language) You are all I need. (speaking in foreign language) And look at what God answers him. (speaking in foreign language) And I will appoint him to be my firstborn. (speaking in foreign language) God is saying, David, you call me father. (speaking in foreign language) I will call you my son. (speaking in foreign language) And I will make you my firstborn. (speaking in foreign language) Even though you were the eighth child, the last one in your family. (speaking in foreign language) But David, for me, you are the first. (speaking in foreign language) Because I am a father to the orphan. (speaking in foreign language) Your father rejected you, but I accepted you. (speaking in foreign language) Your father hurt you, but I healed you. (speaking in foreign language) Your father ignored you, David. (speaking in foreign language) But I have always had you in mind. (speaking in foreign language) You are my son. (speaking in foreign language)

Because you call me father. (speaking in foreign language) And we see David's last point. (speaking in foreign language) The realization of his heavenly father. (speaking in foreign language) Listen, I don't know what type of father you may have had. (speaking in foreign language) But on this special day, Father's Day. (speaking in foreign language) I tell you that you have a heavenly father that loves you. (speaking in foreign language) Some of you weren't cursed by the negative words that your father said to you. (speaking in foreign language) But you were cursed by the silence of your father's that never said anything to you. (speaking in foreign language) And what you needed to hear, you never heard it. (speaking in foreign language) Because words of affirmation never came out of the mouth of your father. (speaking in foreign language) They weren't ever able to say it. (speaking in foreign language) Maybe they weren't able to say it because he himself never heard it from his father. (speaking in foreign language)

But fathers. (speaking in foreign language) Your kids need to hear. (speaking in foreign language) Something different come out of your mouths. (speaking in foreign language) Then what you heard from your own father. (speaking in foreign language) David could have been the son of Jesse. (speaking in foreign language) But at the end of his life, he says. (speaking in foreign language) I have met the God of Jacob. (speaking in foreign language) And he has called me. (speaking in foreign language) And he has made me his son. (speaking in foreign language) For every person that is here. (speaking in foreign language) And you've had a father like the father David had. (speaking in foreign language) I don't know what he did to you. (speaking in foreign language) I don't even know his name. (speaking in foreign language) But I can tell you that there is hope for you. (speaking in foreign language) And Isaiah speaks of this beautiful hope and it says the following.

(speaking in foreign language) A shoe will come up from the stump of Jesse. (speaking in foreign language) - Listen, a stump doesn't have life. It doesn't do anything. - But out of a stump, a shoe will come. - And you know what, who they were talking about? - They were talking about Jesus. - Who would come from this lineage? - Out of this lineage, something new would come something that would give life. - Therefore, it means that no matter where you come from, - Maybe you had a father that was like a stump to you. - Maybe he was a drunk, a fool. - That never saw a purpose in you. - Or maybe he was always absent from your life. - But out of a stump, a stump of Jesse. - Shoo-hoo, he'd have eaten well. - New life will come. - Be the cat in a rough rutal. - Life that will give you fruit. - We put a comma sevel to our bowl, and unlock it. - No matter how your family tree looks. - You have only father has called you. - He sees you, he will heal you. - And you will be able to bear mushrooms. - And something new will happen in your family. - Because maybe you came from a stump, like a father like Jesse. - But the god of Jacob has called you. - You belong to Jesus' tree.
