Thank You Is a Door: A Gratitude Prayer (Psalm 100:4-5) | Evening Meditations

Settle in. Wherever you are right now, you can keep your eyes open. You don't need a quiet room to pray. Take one slow breath in, and let it out. Psalm 100, verses 4 and 5. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good, and his love endures forever. His faithfulness continues through all generations. Thanksgiving is a door. You can walk through it even on a hard day. Three doors tonight. Take your time. [MUSIC PLAYING] One, something your senses caught today. Hot coffee, a warm shower, a song from somebody's radio. Something you could taste, touch, or hear. Say, thank you. [MUSIC PLAYING] Two, someone who showed up, a voice on a phone call, a letter, a guy who shared his food. Picture them, thank you for them. [MUSIC PLAYING] Three, something that didn't happen today. The fight that didn't start. The bad news that didn't come. Quiet protection counts, too. Thank you. [MUSIC PLAYING]

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for the small things I almost missed. Thank you for the people who carry me. Thank you for the days when nothing went wrong. Your faithfulness doesn't take days off. Amen. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Rest when you can. You are not forgotten. Amen. (upbeat music) [MUSIC PLAYING]
