Thou Shall Not Covet | Family Road Trip | Pastor Tim Payne
And I wanted to honor Matt. His Matt just honored God. So I wanted to take that moment. And now I wanna talk about some vision and we're gonna get into the message. We'll have a time of invitation and then a time of celebration. If you've been around for any amount of time, you know that that momentum loves, we love people. And we are a community of Jesus followers who together are an unstoppable force for good driven to change the world. And that's one life at a time. It's one day at a time. It's one moment at a time. And we're so thankful for the vision that God called our church to. We wanna be a church that is making a difference. We wanna make an impact. You know, in sports, and I love sports, you have impact players. Have some coaches here now. We had some coaches last gathering here, athletic director here, principal here right now. You have certain teachers, you own a business, you have certain employees, certain leaders that make an impact. The church is here to make an impact. And so if you've been around, you know that every Christmas, we have a Jesus birthday offering.
And then in the spring, we always have, we did not do it this spring for what's coming up, but normally in the spring, we have a heart for the house offering. And at Christmas, we always give it away. In fact, the only church building we've ever built is in Haiti, and though we will build, but that was the first one. And we took the $28,000 that came in when Christmas offering, and we built a church right in the middle of Satan's area, his birthing place of witchcraft. If you think New Orleans is bad, New Orleans gets their stuff from this place. This is the birthplace for the world right now, for witchcraft, and we build a church there where the gospel is preached. Amen. (audience applauding) 'Cause we believe it doesn't matter how dark the darkness is, we believe like the light is greater than the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome the life, or Jesus is the light. He's a lot of the world. We were at Eancook Elementary School a couple years ago, and I'd come back from Africa, and I was like, guys, we gotta play in churches in Africa. And you guys stepped up to the plate, and I said, what if, dream with me, what if we started 50 churches a year?
And what if over three years we started 150 churches? Well, in three years, you guys started more than 150 churches. (audience applauding) And it's incredible. It's incredible. If I were you, I'd be clapping like Ole Miss, buddy. Like Pete Golden, I'd be like, come on. That's what you guys did, and what God did through you. And so we're a passionate church. I appreciate your passion. If you don't have any borrowed people here got it, you can get some, get some passion. But you don't do anything big in life if you don't got passion. We ought to have passion about what Jesus is passionate for. And so, you know, I don't know if y'all saw the video or not, but there's this video going around, and it says, wives, record your husband's watchin' football, and then play worship music over it. (audience laughing) We don't wanna come to church and be kumbaya. Are you with me? Wanna bring our best to the Lord. And so I'm so thankful you're so passionate you gave. And Togo, Africa, watch Togo in Africa, will be the first place in Africa, Togo, where it used to be the darkest. It'll be the place where this is amazing. There's not a village without a church. (audience applauding) Because of you.
Because of you. Because of you. Because of you. Light came to the darkness. Because of you. Because of you. Light came to the darkness. Because of you watching online. I'm so thankful. So we're gonna have an impact offering. And over the next several weeks, the offering's gonna be November 15th, but over the next several weeks, I'm gonna unpack impact. Okay? And so I'm gonna be talking about money. So watch this, don't be immature, and don't let the devil control your tongue. Don't be like, I can't believe I don't talk about money. Don't be that person. Don't be that person. All right? Just walk around like, I don't love Jesus. Like that's what that looks like. Don't be that person. Be the person like the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus is coming. For me to live is Christ. That's impact when heaven comes to God wants to use you, God wants to do it through you. I want you to begin to pray, say, God, what would you have me? What would you have me give?
This is not your tithe. This is an offering tithe is your first 10%. This is on offering. It's above that. Whatever you think you can do, faith will probably say, hey, if you can do that on your own, believe God for the impossible. Faith says, raise it. And I want us to give, and we are going to make an impact here locally and globally. In the next couple of weeks, I'll unpack, impact. That's the first thing I want to talk about. Second thing for vision is, believe it or not, Christmas is going to be here like that. And you already got all the stores, got the Christmas stuff up. They know there's a big money maker and said, they want you to see it for a long time. You know, it used to come out in October, November, and then it was October and then it's like September and then it was like, why is Christmas trees up in August? They're getting a long runway, a long runway. Well, listen, do you know a lot of people that don't go to church will come at Christmas? So there's some people in the church and even some leaders that every Christmas, they're the ones that are never here. And so if you're a part of this church and you're like an owner, I would encourage you like to set. I'm not saying every, we got family, we go visit family, we get that. But like say, hey, you know what, like I got influence in our city and our town to make an impact. And if there are people only coming at Christmas, if I'm not there at Christmas, that may mean there's some people that won't come here about Jesus. So I want you now to make a list of your top 10, your top 10, make a list. I want you to begin to pray over those top 10. And I want you to begin to pray and believe God, I'm going to talk to you about them before I talk to them about you.
I mean that and believe and then come. I want you to come to gathering except for we don't know the times yet and this is where we need your help. So get your phones out right now. If I thought you'd hear a preacher say, get your phones out. If you're younger or old, go ahead and pull your phone out. I know if you're breathing, you got one. This is your moment. Don't miss your moment. In church. There's something called a QR code. If you don't know, I'm explaining it for real. There's going to be a square up here. Get your camera on your phone. Go to the camera. Like I did right there. You got your camera. See my camera. See my camera. Then you put your camera up there, look at the little yellow thing that popped up. Yep, you're going to click on that and that's going to take you right here where you can play the game. So we need your help to see what gathering times you would, it would be best for you to come. Of course, not everyone's going to get their wish. We have three gatherings. But this is real time. Right now, four o'clock is trending at 51%, oh, here comes 6 p.m., oh, it goes back down. Oh, 2 p.m., 29, 28, someone's like, I'm not sure. But this data is going to help us.
So let us know which gathering time you would most likely to attend on Christmas Eve. Number one, go ahead and take a little moment here. All right, this really helps us. And then the second question is, which one would your friends? How many got people that you know or lost? Raise your hand right now. If there are people you work with, people in your neighborhood, your kids are friends with, raise your hand right now. If you got someone in your life, that's not a Christian, it's not a trick question. Okay, it should be all of us. Jesus was a friend of sinners, let's be friend of sinners. So if you have that person, that's who you want to bring with you, right? So start praying. God, when I ask them, God, give me the right moment. God, give me enough courage. God helped them prepare their heart. So when I ask them, they'll say, yeah, I'd love to come to the four o'clock here. Hey, when we started out, Frankie, you were there. When we started out, we were in the middle school, some of y'all were there. We had a three o'clock, a five o'clock, a seven o'clock, a nine p.m., and we even had a eleven p.m. gathering. And I thought no one's going to come to the eleven, and they came. It was crazy. We're at the singer again this year, and I'm excited. And so, Palafox is new and improved and beautiful, and we want you to come, spend Christmas Eve together as a family, as a church family, and this is why we're asking for your help. So I don't know if we'll have one or two gatherings, we're praying through it, but you've really helped us. So thank you for the information. We're looking pretty strong, pretty strong.
Christmas will be here soon. Well, we're on a road trip, and before Christmas gets here, we are finishing, how did you like that transition? We are finishing this road trip, and we're actually, we're finishing, we're sliding in to home. We're back home, but to finish, in baseball, you've got to get to home, play, and we're of the 10 commandments and it is don't covet. Don't covet. And if you remember this series, God gives us the first four to help us understand how to relate with him. When you give someone advice, make sure you give them godly advice. Make sure, like, you're not just saying, "Hey, this is what I think you should do." But we talk about what does Jesus say? What does Jesus say? And Jesus is telling us how to live right with him and he gives us four. But I don't know about you, if I were God, I'd be like, and I had to split it with four and six, I'd be like, "Let me teach you six things "you need to know about me." God said, "I'm gonna give you four, don't, don't, don't, don't." And then he said, "I'm gonna give you six, don'ts." And this is gonna help you in your relationship with man. How many know that our relationship with each other matters to God? Kind of like a parent, the siblings getting along matters to the parents, hopefully.
With God, the way we treat each other, it matters. It matters a lot. So there's a loving God that wants to protect your heart. And he had 10 things to tell us, don't do this. Why? Because God is just full of don'ts? No. Because God loves your heart. He's the lover of your heart. And he wants to protect your heart. And he knows if you do, you'll be damaged. If you do, you'll be hurt. So loving God says, "Hey, don't." And the last one is thou, shall not covet. Look at the verse here. Exodus, let's go 20 verse 17. You must not covet your neighbor's house. Now why would God say that? Well, if you had a friend, you knew him for a while, then you got invited, maybe a ballgame, UFC fight, a birthday, anniversary, whatever. You get invited to the party and you show up, and you pull up at their house and you're like, oh, wow. Anybody ever had that moment? We're like, "I didn't know they lived at this house." And then you walk inside and get a little jelly and a little jealous. Start, come on, just rise a little bit. And you just keep it tight for the young people. And hey, don't judge my drip, baby.
I'm 50 and I'm with it. I'm with it. Y'all don't even know, don't get me started. I'm trying to preach a message right now. But you pull up and you see their house and you walk inside and you're like, it's either I'm so happy for you or I'm so sad for me. And you just got new, foreign, linoleum. You just got new countertops. Not sure what they're made of, but they're new. But they're not, they're not granted. Or you just got new, granted. But they're not marble. You see, someone here been in the house with marble? I have, whoa, big pillars. I'm like, that pillar is worth more than all of me. (audience laughs) You are into the master bedroom. I mean, bathroom and it's like, holy cow. It's bigger than our whole house, right? And you have those, if you're not careful, what happens is we don't stay in our lane. And what happens is, all of a sudden, we stare. And if you stare long enough, you'll compare. And then you'll become aware that you don't have what they have and what creeps in is some sin called greed. And greed will always destroy gratefulness. And gratefulness is next to godliness. How many like that song? God, I'm just grateful.
(audience murmurs) Grateful, grateful. Oh, you just got marble countertops and you think you've arrived and then you go to a bigger house. They got gold countertops. Have you ever been in the house with gold countertops? If so, I wanna talk to you. (audience laughs) I'm gonna stick around today. God says, hey, don't covet your neighbor's house. Or his wife, or male, or female servant, ox, donkey, or anything else. Their car, their Tesla, anything else that belongs to your neighbor, don't covet it. Don't covet it. And if we're not careful, when we look at what other people have been blessed with, all of a sudden, we'll feel not blessed. If. (audience laughs) I like when you don't talk back. Come on. If you're always looking, I mean, it's hard to be grateful when you're jealous. And it's hard to love your neighbor when you're jealous of your neighbor. You know, like you had last year's iPhone. And it's already September and they pull up with the 18 when you're still excited about the 17
until you found out what the 18 can do. keep the devil away, keep stupidity away. I read my Bible today. I hope you read your Bible today. God spoke to me today. I hope God spoke to you today, not just because you came to church, because you opened His Word. Look what God spoke. Greed brings grief to the whole family. Greed brings grief to the whole family. I read chapter 20 today, and man, God was speaking to me. I was like, highlight, highlight, highlight, highlight. But greed brings grief to the whole family. And I don't know about you, but I've been there when someone passes, especially when his mama or daddy or grandparents pass, and all of a sudden, you could have known him for 10 years, you could have known him for three decades, you could have known him for 50 years, and all of a sudden the venom flows and the claws come out and the greed that they concealed, like they had a permit, all of a sudden is on full display. And they become a different person. Why? Because they have a spirit that wants to own you. That spirit is called the spirit of Mammon. Jesus said, you cannot serve both God and Mammon. Some of you all read that verse didn't know what it meant. Mammon is the spirit of greed. It's the spirit of more, of more, of more, of more. I always got to have more, more, more, more, more, more, more. But I just have that. There's a multi, multi, multi millionaire on his deathbed who name is a big name in New York City. And they asked him on his deathbed, how much is enough? You have so much. You've done so much. You have so much. Your name, your wealth, how much is enough, man? When did you get to the point where you're like, this is enough? How much is enough? And he said, one more dollar is enough, greed. One more, the spirit of Mammon. If the spirit of Mammon owns you, whenever we talk about tithing, you get upset because you're worshiping not the Holy Spirit, but a lesser spirit, the spirit of Mammon. And Mammon makes you angry when the preacher talks about money and the tongue gets going. Oh, he does it. And I don't know anyone here that's doing that if you are. That's the Lord speaking to you. But I'm honest to say, like, if you get like that, you get twisted is because the spirit of Mammon is controlling you. And as long as the spirit of Mammon is controlling you, you're not serving Jesus because you can't serve God and Mammon. And so that's some truth. These are the words of the Lord. And so greed can bring grief into the whole entire family. Now, if I said Elon was here today, and he was going to speak for 10 minutes on how easy it is to make your first million dollars. And you, he guarantees no matter who you are, you could do it in 30 days
or less. How many of you would be listening with both ears? How many of you would be taking notes? How many of you be sitting up better than you are right now? You'd be like, speak, you would be right there, wouldn't you? Right? Because he knows a thing or two about money. He knows a thing or two about building, about vision. Right? He's not a small thinker. Can I tell you the wisest, wealthiest person that ever lived? Listen to his words, Ecclesiastes, chapter 5 verse 10, those who love money will never have enough. And he doesn't stop there. He says how meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness. Now, here's what's crazy. He is a wealthiest person ever lived. Elon got nothing. I know Elon's like a trillionaire. Elon probably be like, can I pause your shoes, Solomon? Solomon, when God says you that rich, you that rich. Solomon had it all. He had the best of everything. He had the most of everything. I mean, when you got 700 wives and 300 girlfriends, you got some drama. Mark that one down. You may be going like, what was I thinking? He had all the women he could have. He had all the sex he could have. He had all the money he could have. He had all the toys that he could have. He had everything. He had the best wine. Like I'm telling you, he had it all. And this book is him saying, I had everything here. I went and did everything here. I built the biggest thing here. I went after everything here. And you know what he said? He says, I'll smoke a mirror. It's meaningless. It's meaningless. And here he tells us those who love, have money. I do because God talks about wanting to prosper you. Prosperity, the devil never said I want to prosper you and mean it and do it. God says he wants your cup to run over. God is a God of abundance. It doesn't mean we'll all be millionaires, but God does care that you got enough money to pay your bills. Anyone want to say amen right there? God does want you to have enough money to feed your kids. Anyone want to say amen right there? God does care that you have enough and if you don't have enough right now, check in with your tongue because your tongue speaks either life or death and if you're like, we just always broke. We're always broke. I'm sick of always being broke. You're just predicting your future. So speak a different future. You don't got the job yet? Jesus, I thank you. That the new job is coming. I thank you that the raise is coming. I thank you that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life so that I can dwell in that. That means I can get to church. It's hard to get to church from cantonment when you don't got any gas. So how can you dwell in the house of Lord if you can't get to the house of
the Lord? So that I dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. Dude around me, God says I want to prosper you. I want to bless you. If you do, if you keep my law and my ways, I will bless you. If you bring the first to where the first is supposed to come and you give above that, which means you're trusting in me, I'm going to give you back so much you won't even have room for it. Test me. This is the God I'm speaking about. So don't you speak scarcity? Speak abundance. You need a verse? I got you. Philippians 4 and 19. But my God, I don't know about your God because if you worship in an idol, I don't know about your God. But my God shall supply all your needs according to his pennies. Preach it. According to his riches in Christ Jesus, his riches, man, you know, I grew up in church and they used to sing and say, you know, he owns a cat on a thousand hills. And my dad would get up. He's a preacher. He's like, he owns the hills too. A maker of heaven and earth. The Bible says the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. I quote that verse, Troy. When I go hunting or fishing, I quote that verse. The earth is the Lord's. Put them on the line. Jesus. Bring them to the theaters. Jesus. Come on. To the food plots. Jesus. He owns it all. He's not going broke. And that same God, that's my God. He promises he going to take care of me. He going to take care of you according to the riches of Christ Jesus. Next first, Paul also said to the church, let's stick with Philippians, the church in Philippi said this. Hey, it wasn't like I never had everything I always needed. No, no, no, not that I was ever in need. But I've learned how to be content with whatever I have, how to be content with whatever I have. Paul would say to the church at Colossians, next first Colossians 3, 5, he'd say this. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Do you know all of us have sinful? Look at what it says. Earthly things lurking within us. Have nothing to do. Here it is. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality and purity, lust, evil desires. Don't be, they just keep something going. Don't be greedy. For a greedy person is an idolatr, worshiping the things of this world. And we start out with the Ten Commandments, have no other gods before me. He's a jealous God. Are you with me? So Paul says to his protégé, he says to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6, verses 6 through 10, he says this. He says true godliness, look at it, yet true godliness with contentment is itself. Great wealth. I memorize it like this. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Godliness with contentment. It doesn't mean that God doesn't want you to be a gold
setter. It doesn't mean that God doesn't want you to be a gold getter. It doesn't mean that it's good. It's good to have vision. It's good to want to grow the business and scale and open up other. That's all good. That's good. God gives you the vision. God gives you the wisdom to do that. But it's the why behind it. You build it for you or you build it for eternity. So godliness with contentment is great gain. Jane was a week old. I was missing Steph and him. I was on a mission trip. We were out in the very poor area of Costa Rica. And kids were playing with a rotten cantaloupe for a soccer ball. And there's one little girl, probably eight or nine, with a dew rag on. She's playing. She's smiling, I mean her smile from here to here, laughing, having fun. And the missionary said her name is, pray for her. We just begin to ministering into this part of the neighborhood, only to find out that every evening she's messed with by her own family multiple times. And she was smiling. You know, when we look at what other people have and we think, well, I don't have that, we think God's not good. And in that the same lie from the Garden of Eden where the devil said, oh, did God really say that? Did God say that? No, God is holding back from you. God knows if you do this, you're going to have it all. In other words, God, this is the lie. God is not good.
And the lie is you need to be God because God's not big enough to take care of you. God is the one that supplies our needs. And when men won't feed me, ravens will. He's the God that meets all my needs. And Paul goes on to say, after all, we've brought nothing with us into this world. We aren't going to take anything with us. You never see a U-Haul behind a hearse. It doesn't happen. It doesn't happen. We brought nothing in. We don't take anything when we leave it. So because of that fact, if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. You know what Paul was saying? Be grateful. That's why we pray over our food. We are blessed to have food. I'm saying, Lord, thank you for the food. I'm not even saying like, Lord, I can't pray. Lord, bless us to my body. Lord, bless us pizza and Coke. And give me sick abs in the mighty name of Jesus. I don't know it works that way. Pretty sure it's not working that way. But I realize I'm already blessed, because I have food in front of me. And I say, I am blessed. And so I say, I got enough on my plate to share with somebody.
And says, I've been blessed. I'm going to be a blessing. And I'm going to invite somebody else to the table, because I'm blessed to be blessed. I'm not blessed to just be about me. I'm blessed to see other people. I'm blessed to be a giver, not just a taker. I want to be a giver. But you'll never be a giver if you're not grateful for what you have. And if you're greedy, you'll never think you have what you need. And what if you and I stopped thinking that we could be happy if we could just get what we want? What would happen if we flipped it and said, you know what? I'm going to want what I already. I'm going to be thankful, Lord, I'm just thankful. I'm thankful. I'm thankful, but people who long to be rich, that's the spirit of famine. I just got to have more, more, more. I'm not talking about-- the Bible says a godly man leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren. So I'm not talking about you shouldn't care about money, but it's that spirit of man that controls you, that money becomes a god. So people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. How many have ever heard a story of someone winning the lottery and then they lost their family?
It's what it's talking about. Next verse. "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." The love of money. I saw that this week. Not with the Crutchfield family. Not them, I want you to think that. But I saw something this week. I was like, that happened because of the love of money. And look what it says. It's the root of all kinds of evil. And it doesn't say money is the root. It's that love of money, that love of money. I'm telling you there's a void in your life that only Jesus Christ himself can fill. I'm telling you, if Solomon, who had all the wine, had all the good time, everything was like he had everything and he was like, I'm still empty. That's what I'm talking about. I'm talking about professional athletes, that they had everything. They won the Super Bowl and they went back and cried, not because they won the Super Bowl, but because they thought that when they finally could win the Super Bowl, they would feel satisfied But we think more is going to be the thing that satisfies us. No, no, no, no. Be careful. Don't love money. It says be satisfied. Next verse says, don't love money. Be satisfied with what you have for God has said, I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.
And I want this to break the spirit of Mammon. For some of you, your right move is to say, Lord, I'm going to be obedient with the fact that my money is not my money. Is your money? Every good gift is from above and comes down from the father of lights, James chapter one, every good gift. The Bible says every good and perfect gift comes from above. And so when God blesses you, if you're a Christian, that first is how he funds his kingdom. And you say, Lord, I return it. If Mammon owns you, if Mammon owns you, you'll never get to generosity, real generosity till you first step into obedience because you will think I have to do this for myself because I am my own God. He won't, so I must. But if you believe that every good thing comes from above, if you believe my God will supply all of my needs, it doesn't even say once when that be cool. But he promised to play all my needs. According to his right, Bible says, Matthew, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. See, if we really believe that he'll never fail us, he'll never abandon us. Then greed is something we walk away from and gratitude is something we embrace and you can't do both. For even Jesus said himself, you cannot serve God in the Mammon. So let's be grateful. Let's be grateful for the goodness. David said, I've been young and he said, now I'm old. And he said, I've never seen the righteous forsaken. He was saying, I've never seen a godly man or woman abandoned by God. I've been young and I'm old, but I've never seen the righteous forsaken, nor I got God bumps right now, nor God's children baking for bread. If he clothes the lilies of the valley, if his eyes are on the sparrow, will he not take care of you?
If you struggle with greed, confess it, unhitch from it and begin to thank God for what you have. And you know what happened. Listen to me, listen, listen, listen. Even when you don't have enough, you begin to say, God, thank you for what I have. God, thank you. Your plate may not be full, but if you got something on the plate, you're rich. You're rich. You might be putting water in the radiator every day, but if you got wheels, you're rich. You may have a car without air conditioning, but if it runs, you got more than what most this world has. I've been to Africa. I've been to China. I could go on and on and on and on. I'm telling you, we are rich and don't even know it. And so when we begin to say, God, thank you. Thank you. If you got food and clothes, be content. And you know what I'd say? I'd say, man, let the church say yes and amen. By the way, y'all look good today. I hope you eat good today. And I hope when you do, you'll remember how good God is in Jesus' name. Amen. Would you stand your feet per team? Would you come? If you're a Christian here today, God has spoken to you through the message, or God spoke to you during the message about something totally different.
Jesus said, my house will be the house of prayer. I want you to come and I want you to pray. I want you to come and pray. Maybe your marriage is in trouble. Maybe it's finances. Maybe it's a relation slip that used to be a relationship. And that's in trouble. You need to pray. Maybe it's over your kids or your grandkids. Maybe you lost your job. You need a different job, a new job, a better job. You need a raise. There's so much to pray about. We should never be like, I got nothing to pray about. But we got enough to pray for ourselves. And we got a lot to pray for of other people. There are a lot of hurting people in this world. So let this gathering be his house where we pray. Maybe believe in God for the next level in your business. Come pray. When you humble yourself, God will lift you up. God will lift you up. They ain't no man stronger than when he kneels. There's no woman that's stronger than when she begins to call the name of the Lord. I'm telling you, whatever God can do, prayer can do. And if the devil's been lying and punking you out and saying, this will never change, and that will never change, and you're forever going to be like this, and no, no, no, no, no. That's not the words of my Savior.
So I'm going to take it to the altar and then you can leave it here. You don't have to take it out the door. Take it to the restaurant. Take it back to the car. Take it to the house again. You can leave your burdens at Calvary today. I want you to come and pray on three. I want you to step out. I believe right now the spirit of God is moving in this gathering. Don't quench the Holy Spirit. Step over your pride. Step through and let God do a work in you today. I want you to come on three. One, people are already coming. One, two, three. Come on. Come on from the front to the back. We've had people in the balcony want you to come. Come pray. Watch God make a way. God resist the proud. God resist the proud. God resist the proud, but he gives grace. He gives grace to the humble. So humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may lift you up. He may lift you up. If you're here today, you're watching online through the Panda app. You're at Blackwater. You're our online campus. Or you're here in Pensacola.
And you're not a Christian. Listen to me. If you die today, are you 100% sure you're a child of God? I'm not talking about religion. I'm not talking about your family as this denomination. I'm not talking about you a good person. You never killed anybody. I'm talking about, have you ever been to the cross? Have you ever trusted Jesus to do for you what you could never do for yourself? Have you ever confessed? I'm a sinner. You're the Savior. I'm guilty. You are innocent. You love me so much. You sacrificed it all. So I could receive the gift of God, which is Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. And no one ever steps into heaven without going through Jesus. And Jesus said it's easier for a rich person to go to heaven. He wasn't slamming the rich, but he's saying, often the rich, we trust in our wealth. And he said, it's easier for that than for a camel to go through the eye of the needle. I've been to Israel. I'll be there in two weeks to have these massive gates. And then they have a little door. And those camels would have to get down and crawl through about impossible. And he was saying, don't let wealth be your God that keeps you from the true God, from the real God. And so if you're not a child of God, not everyone's a child of God. You wouldn't be here without God, but not everyone's a child of God.
How do I become a child of God? You trust in the finished work of Christ. You confess you're a sinner. You receive the gift of God's forgiveness by calling on his name and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, by believing in your heart that God raised them from the dead. Scripture says, if you do that, you will be saved. So I'm a legion of sinners prayer right now. You're watching online. You're one of our physical gatherings. I'm going to lead you in a prayer. If this is the first time you ever prayed this prayer and you're coming to Christ after this prayer, I want you to put your hand in the air. We're going to clap and celebrate you. Let's pray together to God. Would you say, Jesus, I confess to you that I'm a sinner and I need you, Jesus, to be my Savior. You are Lord, I need you to be my Lord. Thank you for loving me. You're bleeding for me. Thank you for dying for me. Thank you for rising again. I give you my life. I receive your life, Holy Spirit. Now teach me how to live in Jesus' name. Amen. I believe people in black water. I believe people watching online on our online campus around the world. I believe people watching thousands of you through the Pando app. I believe even people here in Pensacola, this is your moment where you became a child
of God. If that's you, let us know. If you're watching on the screen, text Jesus to the number on the screen. If you're a black water Pensacola, I want you to raise your hand on three. Don't hesitate. Come on. Hold it up. God bless you. Come on, God bless you. God bless you. I see your hand. God bless you. So good. So good. We're going to sing this song.
