Seeded For Heavenly Places
Guest speaker Pastor Jeff Osborn continues our “Get Rich or Die Trying” series with this week’s message, “Seeded for Heavenly Places.”
Jesus teaches that if we can be trusted with little, we can be trusted with much. But how we handle what God has placed in our hands reveals what He can trust us with in the future.
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much… So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” — Luke 16:10–11
This message challenges us to look beyond temporary wealth and ask: Are we faithful with what God has already given us? Our finances, opportunities, influence, relationships, and resources can all be seeds planted for something greater in God’s Kingdom.
I have notes on my phone from when you were speaking faith in me and telling me that he He's one of the most prolific speakers; I think he's the best in the world. He's one of the most sought-after speakers in the nation, but he wanted to be here today. So would you give some honor to my brother, Jeff Osborn? Come on! God morning, God morning! Majesty family, would you stand to your feet for me for a moment? God morning! Good to see you guys. Good to be amongst family. I'm honored to be able to be here and you know I'm not even going to speak anymore without giving honor where honor is due. Most of you guys see this in result, but as Pastor Justin shared, I remember the phone call when he called me. I feel like God is calling me to plan a church, but this massive church is trying to call on me, and what do I do? And I said, "Well, what's in your heart?" He says, "I see families, I see entrepreneurs, I see children, and I believe that God is calling me and Pastor Delicia to be able to go and reach these people." I said, "Brother, you got my support." Back then, I wasn't where I was now, so I didn't have no money to give him, but I had a whole bunch of faith to give your pastor. I'm just honored to be here. Can we give it up to your pastors, Pastor Justin and Pastor Delicia? My God! My God! My God! My God! This is the first time that I've been able to stand in the building, and so when Jonathan pulled me up and I saw the building, I said, "Lord, this is crazy." Like, I'm walking around in the level of excellence. I don't think you guys understand, and I'm cutting into my sermon time because I feel like this is actually really important for you to understand. I get to travel all around the world, but I need you to understand in four years of a church, this isn't normal. Like, it wasn't normal when the first Easter service y'all had 1,200 and you were four months in, that's not normal. It's not normal that you guys grew in a YMCA, when most people would have been defeated. You guys, out through the YMCA, you're giving put you in this building. The level of excellence that you see when you walk around is astounding. We watch people say, "Man, I don't know if they're gonna make it." People say, "You guys wouldn't make it." Now, look at God! Look at God! Look at God! Oh, come on, look at God! Families are being restored! Look at God! Life are being changed! Look at God! My God! Man, I wanted to be here, and so I love you guys. The men, we had an incredible time. Well, my men, we all have fellows! I mean that, straight dogs, I got lit up with paintballs like it was Christmas time.
They didn't care what I was a guest pastor. No, they said, "You're getting these bullets!" And I was the last man standing there when the championship ran. I'm just saying. It didn't stop me from getting lit up, but I was the last one. We've been in this series entitled, "Get Rich or Die Trying." And when I say, "We," it's not only your church, but I carry with me the mantle of the church that I come from. I'm an elder, and I'm on the teaching team of Patriot Church in Rancho Cucamonga, so I'm from Southern California to IE, and come on. And so I'm honored to be able to be here so we carry our love and our wishes with you as we continue in this series. If you have your Bibles, I want you to turn to Luke 16 starting in verse 10. Luke 16 starting in verse 10. And it reads like this, "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." And whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy, even when say trustworthy, in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? This morning, I want to speak to you from a topic entitled, "Seeded for Heavenly Places." Father, I thank you for this time. I pray, God, that in these moments you would allow your word to be etched on their hearts like tattoos. Would you do something incredible for every man and every woman here today in Jesus' name? And everyone say, "Amen." You may be seated. Look at somebody and say, "Get ready, get ready, get ready." (laughs) (laughing) about stewardship. In other words, how you handle what is in your hands now reveals whether you can be trusted. And so Jesus is talking about this story of a shrewd manager and this manager is accused of mishandling his master's possession and then he realizes he's about to be held accountable. And so Jesus uses this story to teach that money and possessions aren't just resources, they reveal your character. Now, I need you to understand something that if you've been in church, I already know some of y'all are like, oh man, here they go. Already talking about money, you're clutching your wallets right now, they said they brought
somebody in. But I need you to understand, I'm pretty sure I can get into your mind and think this, if you've not been in church before or you've been in church before, you're watching online and you're hearing this, I'm going to say a phrase and I need you guys to finish this statement for your boy. Y'all with me? Okay, watch this. All the church wants, I don't know if all y'all heard this, I'm going to say it one more time. All the church wants is your, all they want is your money. All the church wants is my money, that's all they want is my money. What's interesting about the word of God is that as I begin to coach a company, my wife and I own several companies, one of them is a fancy donut franchise. We got several locations, it's incredible what God does. They turn into carrots when you eat them, like God's hand is all over them. My wife and I are currently in our master's program and our MBA and it's interesting that when we talk about this issue of money, it becomes no issue anywhere else other than when it comes to church. We don't use that statement, all the blank wants is my money, nowhere else. I'm about to help y'all, I'm going to give you guys a little test. After we're done right here, I want you to go to the greatest brunch spot that you can go to. When you go to the brunch spot, I want you to order the greatest layout platter, get the buffet, go and do it all. And then when it comes time to pay the bill, I want you to get them and say thank you so much and just walk out. When the manager is chasing after you, I want you to say oh no, you don't get it, all the restaurant wants. Let me give you another one, hold on. I want you to then go over to the shopping center, the mall that I was at, the Lord blessed
your boy, I was able to pick up some Jordans. The Bible says blessed is the feet of those who carry the gospel, so I got to make sure they're right. I'm just joking, that's not, and I want you to go into a place, ladies, I want you to go to a nice place like Nordstrom's, go in there, get you a bag. If you want some shoes, get you some red bottoms, even though I hear they are uncomfortable, I want you to go crazy. Fellas, I want you to get you a nice pair of Doc Martens, get you get you some nice pair of shoes, whatever it is you want to get. And then as you leave, I want you to put them on, do the little test like you're about to run and then walk straight out the front door and when you are in handcuffs, I want you to tell the officer or officer you don't get it all the store wants, so now I'm about to help you out. I want you to think about today, you came into church and you come every Sunday, we just had a full blown worship experience and in this experience, they are the lights are going, you guys got LED screens, they're singing worshiping, you're praising God, had an incredible worship experience. And then some of y'all show up every Sunday and even got your designated parking spot right up in the middle. You come inside and you get to drop your kids off while they get taken care of and some of y'all know your kids. You go over and you get to have some coffee because there's a cafe, they got latte and they got the name brand creamer, come on somebody. You hear a life changing word, you got classes that will change your life and here's my promise to you. When you walk out the door and you start heading to your car, I want you to check to see if any of the security guards are going to excuse me, excuse me, did you pay for that? You enjoyed worship in the front, did you settle up your tab? We had to charge you double because your kids were babes kids like did you settle up? You parked in the front in that designated VIP and if you hear in the front three rows
that's the VIP section, so that's triple. I promise you. So where did the phrase all the church wants? Is my money come from? See, what the enemy desires to do more than ever is he wants to rob us of principles. Everyone say principles. The book of the Word of God, the Bible, is a book of principles. And when we understand principles, principles will change your life. There is a principle that is called gravity. And it doesn't matter how much I believe I'm a bird. If I jump off of this roof, the principle has to go into effect. There are principles in our life that help us to lead healthy lives, to be able to grow. And I'm gonna talk about the thing that everybody needs, but if you don't have the principles behind it, you won't have it. I wanna talk about the idea of how the enemy has perverted this idea of money when it comes to believers. And it's crazy because the guys that I coach, the CEOs that I coach, the athletes that I coach, it's incredible of how many of them feel guilty because they have become successful financially. And so this morning, what I wanna talk to you about is some truths about money right off the rep.
Okay, I'm gonna help y'all out. I'm gonna give you some truths about money. Number one, I need you to recognize that money itself is neutral. It takes on the character of the heart that holds it. (indistinct) Money is neutral. It has no personality. It has no ability to change you. It is neutral and it takes on the character of the heart that holds the money. Have you ever heard somebody who got a promotion and job, you get a new car, you got a little bit of money, God has blessed you and increased your life. And they said, "Oh my God, look at you, money changed you." You ever have somebody who got some wealth and they were cool with you and all of a sudden they look at you like, "I play pickleball. "I don't do that anymore." You got a $2 increase, slow down. And so we say statements like, "Money changed somebody, I'm about to help you out." Money doesn't change us. It just exposes who we already are. We were just too broke to show it. And so I need us to understand that money is neutral. It takes on the character of the heart that holds it. The second thing I need you to understand is that a pure heart uses money for good, helping others and building God's kingdom.
So here's what I need you to understand, that money is simply a tool. And here's the challenge for most believers is that we ask God to give us tools, but we have no blueprints for anything that we're building. And so when it comes to finances and we're asking God for finances, God gives us finances so that we can be a resource to not only others, but to build the kingdom of God. It would be just like me going to Home Depot, I'm now in that age, I'm 40. So I enjoy starting to, I'll be getting upset when cars be parked outside of my house too long. I'm that guy now. I'll be outside trimming the hedges, loving I'll just stand there, look at the lines of how diagonal they are in my grass. Like I'm in California, so I only got like five feet of grass, but it's nice. But in the middle of all of this, it would be like me going to Home Depot, filling up my entire garage with all of these tools. And then I step back and I look at it and say, man, check this, hey, bro, look, look at all the tools, like that's a sawzaw, that one is a power and you see that as a compact, say it would be compact. And they say, well, what are you building with?
Oh, I don't know how to use any of them, I just got them, they nice to look at. And when it comes to finances, that's what we want. Oftentimes we want God to increase our life so we can floss and have the appearance that we're doing something, but we're not building anything, we're not impacting anybody's life, we're not feeding children, we're not helping anything and let me help you out. If you are a business owner or an entrepreneur, I don't like the word saying, oh, we got well so that we can give back as if we stole something from somebody, you're not giving back, you're just passing it forward. And so this is why we do it. The third thing I need you to understand the truth about money is a corrupt heart uses money for selfish gain, greed, pride or exploitation. If I'm using my finances as a leveraging tool to manipulate somebody, you are taking the tool and using it for the wrong reason. If the reason why we ask for wealth and we ask for all of these riches is so that we can actually just get what we want and have what we want. And I'm gonna share with you guys that there's nothing wrong with having nice things. But if the heart is right, the seed is right, the financial fruit will be good.
If your heart is right and if the heart is right, that means that the seed, the way that we look at our money, will be good. So I want to talk to you about uncovering the law of the seed this morning. Are you guys with me? The first thing I need you to recognize, number one, is that God provides the seed. That God provides the seed. I want you to look at 2 Corinthians 9, 10. I love this. And 2 Corinthians 9, 10, it says, "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness." Now I want you to understand this, is that in this verse Paul is teaching on generosity and stewardship. He's encouraging the Corinthian church to give generously, willingly, and from the hard. Watch this, not under pressure. But the imagery that I want you to see is this is powerful because God gives this issue. He gives this picture, it says, "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your seed." So I need you to recognize that when we look at our finances, the Bible says that God gives seed to the sower. Seed is so powerful because if I'm going to have seed, in order for me to have a harvest of my seed, it means I must be willing to, now let's take it even out of the biblical context, if I am a farmer and I've got seed, but I don't plant it in the ground, why would I ever expect to have a harvest from something that I'm not planting? So the Bible says that God gives seed, watch this, to the sower, and in other words, if I am going to ask God to give me more seed, God is looking to see where are you sowing your seed? What does that look like when you're sowing your seed? Here's why this is important because God doesn't increase your seed just to increase
your lifestyle, he increases your seed to increase your impact. So if God gives seed to the sower, oftentimes we get frustrated because we say God, what's wrong with my seed? I don't have a lot of seed and God says you don't have a lot of sowing, but there's another part of the text that we fail to realize. He says he not only gives seed to the sower, he gives bread, I need you to understand why this is important because seed in that day produced grain. Grain was one of the greatest commodities next to salt in the Bible time. And so whenever they had grain that mean that you can produce bread, why does bread matter? Because in that time only the elite and the wealthy could afford a fancy and delicacies like meats. But it didn't matter how poor you were, all I needed was a little bit of seed and if I got some grain then I can break bread. And if I have bread, it doesn't matter where your socioeconomic status was, you would be able to have bread, to have sustenance, to be able to feed yourself or you'll follow me. Watch what it says. So if God gives seed to the sower and he also gives bread while you're sowing, it means that while you are giving into God's kingdom, he's going to make sure you have all the necessities to make sure you and your family are eating, to make sure that you and all your needs are met. He gives seed to the sower, but he also gives you bread, which means that while I'm sowing, I don't ever have to worry about whether or not I'm going to be in luck, whether or not my family's going to have what they need, whether or not God's going to provide. God says if you focus on your sowing, then I'm going to make sure not only do I give you the seed to be able to sow, but then I'm going to give you bread to make sure that you can have what you need. And so what happens though, and the challenge with most of it is that the Paul's point is really looking at that God supplies our resources so believers can have what they need and have something to give.
As God increases their seed, the generosity watches produces a harvest of righteousness. Here's the challenge that most of us, remember I talked about how money reveals a spiritual component. Do you know out of the 39 parables that Jesus speaks of, 11 of the 39 parables all have to do with wealth, money and riches? The idea of money is mentioned over 2,000 times in the Bible. There is something that he's wanting us to understand about money and how we deal with our money and how we deal with these things. The challenge for most of us is that we eat our seed. So when I eat my seed... So you eat your seed without planting your seed, and you're wondering why there's famine in areas of your life. But you would understand that God gives seed to the sower, bread it while you're sowing, but it says he also increases your seed as you begin to give. So when God says that I see you being generous, when God says I see you living well, I need you to understand something that that seed will produce a harvest. The second thing I need you to understand is the second point of uncovering the law of the seed, is that when you sow, faith is determined by your throw. And second thing you like that Dr. Sufism, huh? Second Corinthians 9.6 says, "Whoever sow sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously." When I talk about this idea, when you sow, faith is determined by your throw, the idea of recognizing our seed means that I will only throw seed when I believe that the soil is good. Have you ever seen them actually seed a rice paddy field in Vietnam? This is the stuff I get caught up at 3 o'clock in the morning on YouTube. So when they sow in a rice paddy field, I promise you, when they throw in their seed, they're just throwing it like this. They throw in the seed all over the place, like just toss the seed, throw the seed all, and they will chuck it and throw the seed as far as they can throw it, because they understand that the harvest I get back is determined by how far I throw my seed. For most of us, when it comes to this idea of us sowing our seed, this is how we treat what God gives us. Can we take this right here? I'm just going to take that right there. God, I'm believing for a great harvest. In Jesus' name, I'll pull on heaven like you just, God, I believe you're going to do something great in my business. Okay, well, if you want to invest in the program that's going to like you to grow, it's going to be $4.99. Let me just get a little 1999 course right there. Oh, you know, I'm believing God, you're going to do something great for my kids. Hey, we need some finances, so these kids can go to a youth camp and you can sponsor a great kid. God, I'm believing for this next generation. I got faith for this next generation. Hey, would you sow into that? Yeah, I got something for you right there. God, increase my faith. And so what happens is, is when it comes to our seed, the faith of how I throw my seed, the faith of what I throw my seed in is determining how far I throw it. What I love about the idea of legacy church, I was talking to Pastor Justin, and I don't know if this individual is here, but when they planted legacy, there was an individual who was sowing seed all the way from Vietnam.
All the way to Chandler, Arizona, he's taking the seed and he's throwing it as far as he can because he has the faith to know that that place that I'm throwing in my seed is going to produce a harvest in my life. So what are the areas in your life? For God is saying, will you throw your seed and watch what I do? Will you throw your seed and increase your faith of what I'm going to do in your life? Now I want you to understand something. The third point that's so important when we talk about your faith will determine your throw is understanding where produces the what. So now we'll get into your business. I'm going to get real practical. Because when I talk about the where produces the what, I want you to look at Galatians 6, 7. It says, do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to pleases the flesh from the flesh will reap destruction. I want you to look at Matthew 13, 8. Still, all the seed fell on what type of soil? Good soil. We're produced a crop, 136 times what was sown. Here it is right here. Luke 6, 43 through 45, it says, no good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. So when it comes to this idea of sowing our seed, where you sow determines what grows out of it. Where produces the what? So when he talks about this idea of sowing seed, he says, do not be deceived. God will not be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Watch this. Whoever sows to please the flesh from the flesh will reap destruction. This is what it looks like. Most of us have no problem sewing into things that are pleasing our flesh but destroying our life. We sew into subscriptions that we know we ain't got. No business signing up for it. We sew into things like substances that are wrecking your family and wrecking your household and you have no problem sewing into the things of the world. And when I do so, I'm sewing into things that please my flesh, but if all my money is for, is pleasing my flesh, look at what he says. You will reap, you will reap destruction. If the source of my money that God has blessed me with 'cause he gives seed to the sower, that means that to the level of which you understand that this is a seed will determine what you get to sow. And if all I'm sewing for is to please my flesh in the end, I will be empty and have things and not have any type of joy in my life or fulfillment. This is the reason why, as I'm coaching athletes, I'm coaching business leaders who will do billions
in their company and one of them has a $30,000 a month alcohol habit. He's got all the seed, what's the problem? All of the seed is going to please his flesh. So he's wondering why he's depressed. He's wondering why he doesn't have anything because God says your seed wasn't for you to consume, it was for you to be able to plant. And if I can trust you to plant seed, then I can show you what your seed can produce and the life of somebody else. Now I need you to catch this because this is huge, that where you sow determines your growth. And so the Bible talks about sewing into good soil. So it's not about you just throwing your money away frivolously and not being smart about your finances. There are too many individuals who are sewing into places and sewing into things where you don't know whether or not you're giving into good soil. So Pastor Jeff, how do I know whether or not I'm giving to good soil? I'm so glad you asked. You know your soil is good when where you place your seed, you begin to see fruits of excellence. So wherever I give my seed, I know that it's good soil when what is done is being done in excellence. As a believer when it talks about this idea of sewing seed, I know it's good seed when I look around and I see the fruit that is on the tree, I know it's good soil.
Here's the challenge for most of us, is that most of us sow seed into grounds just because somebody says it's good soil, but you don't have any evidence of good soil. So let's take it even closer when it comes to churches because I am now counseling men who have given millions of dollars to churches only to have the pastors run off with secretaries to buy a Rolls Royce and shut the church down. I told you I'm a go there 'cause I'm gonna keep it real with you guys. How do I know that a church is good soil? When you walk in and you see excellence in everything that you do, you see the lights, you see the small details of it, you see how they think about everything from start to finish, that's good soil. How do you know it's bad soil? When the pastor has more geez on his body than the church does in the bank account, it's not good soil. (audience clapping) When the vehicle that they're driving and the lifestyle that they're living doesn't match the excellence of the church, it's not good soil. If you've been on a building campaign for 35 years and you're still at the bottom level on the thermometer, it's not. (audience cheering)
Y'all don't wanna talk to me this morning, that's okay. I'm trying to help you out because just like, come on now. (audience laughing) We keep getting upset with God because we don't have a harvest. But God is saying you haven't done your due diligence to find out if it's good soil. So you're throwing good seed into bad soil. Are you with me? Even when it comes down to business, some of you are wrecking your houses and your families because you are pouring money into a business that you didn't do your fiduciary responsibility to find out if the person you're partnering with is wise with their finances. And so with the promise of money and the promise of fruit, you are throwing everything into a business but you have entested the soil to see if the person has integrity, whether they live with what they say, what does the books look like, what does the money look like, how is your spending looking like, how much have you invested back in the company? seed is running out and we don't have a harvest where we don't understand where you sow your seed matters. So I don't need to be a rocket scientist to look at legacy and see that when you started off from the beginning, I remember the phone call where you said, "Man, Pastor Jeff, we're
on the board meeting." And you're like, "Guys, we have the ability to buy bigger TVs when we're in there for the children. Man, we get to have more stepping repeats for the people. Man, we get to have it." And you're talking about the small things and I told them that when we say what we say we're going to do and we do it, it builds trust. Everything your pastor said that they were going to do, they've done it so that in four years you are sitting in a building and there are churches in the area that haven't had what God is doing in this house. This is good soil. It's good soil. I watched over a hundred men get delivered and have their lives changed for their lives and their kids to have a place that was done with excellence. I watched men break down on their knees and break off generational curses over their lives. Why? Because this is good. It's good soil. Just ask some people it's good soil. Ask the minds that have been healed, it's good soil. Ask the marriages that have been saved, it's good soil. I am here because this is good soil and when you understand your where produces your what, you recognize that where you put your money determines the type of return you get. You recognize that sowing into the world system selfish gain, quick wealth, materialism leads to a harvest of stress and loss. You recognize that sowing into God's kingdom, tithing, generosity, wise investment leads to spiritual and financial abundance. Now hear me, this is not, this is not soil seed of $33 in the next 33 minutes and you can get 33 blessings, that's called voodoo.
This is not what we're talking about. You're not going to hear me say, I'm going to take a bus offer because I need a brand new jet. I promise you we're not locking any doors. I want you to understand that when we give, we give with a cheerful heart for when much has been given, much is required. So generosity is only my natural response to the goodness of God. I give because I understand that it wasn't me who gave it to myself in the first place. Oh, you know what, I worked all these jobs and I worked all these hours and I was the one who got up and I was the one who did it and I was the one who did it. Hold on, who gave you the air in your lungs to wake up? Who gave you your abilities to have your fingers move, your mind to be cognitive, to do what you need to do, your legs to be able to move, your voice to be able to speak. If God had not moved on your behalf that morning and woke you up, you could not clocking to your job. There's no still person as self-made, we're all God made, all good things come from God. He gives us the seat. But he says something that's interesting and I want to give this so I can honor the moment. He says that when you give your seat, he says your life will be pressed and shaken. Given it will come back to you, a good measure, press down, shake it together and run it over, it will be poured into your lap for with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. So I have this idea that I want you to think about these balls, nowhere ever in my 20 years of preaching that I ever asked for a baseball but I knew that Jonathan was here and I knew if anybody was going to have some baseballs and so these baseballs represent our finances. When God begins to give us finances, oftentimes what we do is we hold them into our lives and we say this is my money but God I'm expecting an increase in my life. God I'm expecting more in my life and so God would you just bless me, oh but God there's gaps. God I don't have enough to be able to do what I need to do. God if you would just do something Lord would you open up the windows of heaven, God says
so you'll see but God you don't understand I don't have enough but I still have these gaps. God says so you'll see and you're like God but if I give and I pour then what's going to happen? If I invest then what's going to happen to me but God I just need you to understand I've got some gaps in my life and God says so yourself what I understand. I understand that I got a little bit of seed in my life. So I'm going to pour my life out. And then God says, well, great, thank you so much for pouring out your life. And when you live with a life where your hands are willing to be empty to be able to say, look, I'm going to do for others what God does for me. What happens is, is that God is not only will you have your seed, but there's something that my wife taught me when we started doing our stores and started baking. What I learned about the seed in the word, the word says that you will be pressed down and shaken together. So when you cook what I've learned about brown sugar and things like that, it has a propensity to stack to one side. So if I want to get the proper measurement, what I have to do is I have to shake it. I've got to press it down. And then when I press it down, what happens is I am removing all gaps in all spaces. Watch this. Hold on. Hold on. Where there could be anything that's left over. Then he says, not only will your life be pressed down. He says, it'll be shaken together and your cup will be flowing over. This is what happens. He presses down and fills every gap in your life. So there's no lack in your life. He shakes your life to make sure you're good and then gives you more so that your cup is flowing over. And so everybody that's attached to your life is receiving a benefit from the overflow of what God has for your life. I need you to understand God wants to press your life down, shake it together and allow your cup to flow over so you can change cities. You can change children's lives. You can change men's lives. You can change women's lives. Why? Because of all the life that is pressed down, shake it together and running over. Because here's my last and final point that what you sow follows you into eternity. The Bible says in Galatians 6, 7, and 8, do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. The man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please the flesh from the flesh will reap destruction. Whoever sows to please the spirit from the spirit will re-watch this. What is it? So when I sow, the reason why I'm sowing is that when people ask me for the level of my generosity, I tell them God gave me the ability to do it. And they look at me
and they say, man, how is that possible? Let me talk to you about living a generous life. Because what it says in Galatians 6, 9, and 10, it says, and let us not grow weary and doing well for in what season? Come on, speak to me in what season? In due season, we will reap a harvest that we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are in the what? So we would rather give to those out there who aren't in the household of faith, because we got needs in the house. But we'll give to dogs and then look at those videos in the eyes of an angel. And they got those dogs that are like shaking. Take my money. You're giving all of your wealth to creatures and dogs. But there are men and women that are in the church who could benefit from the goodness of God while they're growing. Now, hear me. This is not an excuse for you not to get out there, to live, to work, to do your thing. You still have to work. You still have to be diligent in what you're doing. But they're all seasons when we have hardships. And God says, while you're doing what you're doing, I got some brothers and sisters that are going to back you up. Because if you see a brother or sister, the Bible says, who is in need? What good is it if you say to them, be ye warmed and filled? I've got faith for you and send them on their way. That if I see a family who needs groceries and I'm watching that man work as hard as he can. And he's in a rough time. I want to be able to say we got a church for that. If there's somebody who's like, yo, my corn's breaking down and I can't pay for it to get to work. We got to church for that. No, I've got afraid when he said go into a facility to change your mind and break addiction. Guess what? We got to church for that. When I give, I allow my seed to go in good soil. And the lives that are changed from my seed will become the ROI in your life, the return on your and your investment. So I need you to see your seed as an investment. Because here's the last challenging part for us. We got to see it all over this place. Sorry, Tane. But when we plant seeds, we have a problem. Because when I plant the seed, I want the harvest right now. That doesn't even happen in the physical world. Even with all the GMOs and pesticides, seeds take fruition and do and do season. Can I tell you something? For the first time in my life, I am sitting in the harvest of seeds. My wife and I sold 20 years ago are just now coming to pass right now. I would sit in the chairs at service and I would only have $10 to my name.
Nobody would hire me because of some decisions from my past. And I was digging through trash cans to recycle cans. And all we had was $10 to our name and I would take a dollar and I would say, God, I know it's not much, but this helps keep the door open for somebody else to find faith, take my seed. God, I don't know. This is $5. I got 50 now. I thank you, God, for what you're doing. If this just gives a man the opportunity to hear the gospel, to have their life changed, take my seat and I gave not because I had it all. I gave because he gave me it all. But everybody stand to your feet for me. I understand that this could be a tricky subject, but can I tell you something that when you understand the law of the seed and you understand that money is not about how much you give. It's about the heart that comes behind what you give. It's about you being smart with where you sow your seed. You will understand that you will have more seed than you know what to deal with. You will have more seed to give so that now when my wife and I are having the privilege to be able to bless people with cars and have the privilege of blessing people with Christmas toys and trips for their family and we get to sow into other ministries. Can I tell you, there is no greater feeling than being able to do for others what God did for me in the beginning of me traveling when I transitioned out. What people don't understand is that when Pastor Justin asked me to come and speak at the first year anniversary, I had a business partner who took my wife and I for $450,000. And we had only $18 to our name. I got a phone call for my brothers to, "Hey man, would you come preach for me?" And what he didn't know was I didn't know what was going to happen in this next season. But because of your generosity you gave, and this church blessed me with enough money
to cover my beef, and it began to speak to me that God is good and God is real, which gave me the ability to continue on when I wanted to quit. So I am the fruit of your harvest that you sowed four years ago. So thank you, thank you for your faithfulness, thank you for giving, thank you for investing because your pastors knew that I was good soil and their lives all over the world are being impacted, men are being freed, business owners are knowing their purpose, the kingdom of God is being expounded, children are being set free from anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts because of your seed that you sow, so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Hey, if you're still watching at this point, I believe that it's not an accident. I believe that if you're feeling something in your spirit, that is God trying to get your attention and invite you into a deeper relationship with him. And so if you're ready to take that step, I want to walk you through what that looks like. It's simple, we're going to say a prayer together, and it's just you acknowledging that you believe that Jesus is who he says he is, and that you're willing to commit your life to following him and learning what it means to be a son or daughter of God. So repeat after me if you can, Jesus, here I am, I believe that you love me, that you died for me, and that you want a relationship with me. I acknowledge that I'm a sinner and I need a Savior, and I'm committing to learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus. If I mess up, I will not quit because you've never quit on me. I invite your Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me in your truth from today on, in Jesus' name, amen. Hey, we're proud of you. That's a huge decision, and we don't want you to feel like you have to figure it all out on your own from this point. We have a value, a legacy that says we follow Jesus for ourselves, but not by ourselves. I would invite you to text the number below, follow the instructions, and we're going to send you resources so you can learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus and be on this journey of faith.
