Rich in Righteousness
This week at Legacy Church, we welcome special guest speaker Mark Griffith from Convoy of Hope. Mark brings a powerful message titled “Rich in Righteousness.” Mark challenges us to take a closer look at our understanding of righteousness and the role it plays in our lives. He makes a bold claim: many of us have only a partial understanding of righteousness. So what does it really mean to be rich in righteousness? And how should righteousness shape the way we live, think, and follow Jesus? Join us as Mark unpacks what righteousness means and points us toward a deeper understanding of what it looks like to live a life that reflects Christ.
"You're called a son, you're called a daughter, you're called by God." And I've been finding myself reciting that verse more and more, even by myself in the car, like, "I don't want to lead a life worthy of my calling." It helps give perspective from my day, purpose to my day. And it also helps me to align with people that are aligned with that same purpose and that same vision. And one of those people is my friend Mark Griffith. I met Mark over a year ago, we were at a retreat together, and we just had a great time. And he's a part of an organization called Convoy of Hope that we've been partnering with since we started Legacy. And he'll tell you about Convoy in a few moments, but here's what I want you to know about Mark. Mark loves Jesus, like, for real. He shared a story, we got to hang out a lot yesterday, and he shared a story, and I could see his commitment to Jesus through all sorts of different trials and situations, and it never waivered. Not only is that, Mark loves his family, which matters, because what is it, Prophet, if you can preach Jesus to people who you don't know, but don't live and love like Jesus, people who you do know, right? So it's been awesome to see how much he prioritizes his family. And he'll talk about them in a little bit, but the thing I should also warn you about is Mark loves Jesus, he loves his family, and he loves the gym. And he's never missed like that. And I don't know, we were golfing. I was like, "How are those shorts squeezing onto you?" And then this morning, I was like, "Oh, Mark is preaching, so I want to knock out a hundred push-ups to get my posture right before I introduced him." And then I wore a big shirt, so he didn't feel intimidated standing next to me, because it's his first time preaching a legacy. I need him to feel big, not intimidated. But Mark is a preacher masquerading as a missionary, so I want you to talk back to him, make him feel at home, and I believe he has a gift from the Word of God that is going to be impactful to our lives. So come on, make some noise for my brother, Mark Griffin. [music] Legacy Church, how are we doing? Come on, how do we feel about people already saying yes to Jesus? We didn't come to mess around, we came to push back out, we came to praise God, amen! Whoo! Oh, I love it, I love it. Hey, can I just say this, I love your pastors, man. I was thinking, and I think you just have tenacious lead pastors. Again, I got to see Pastor Justin, when we were hooping, he had that mamba mentality, he was out there, he was like Kobe. And I was like Shaq from the Celtics, you know what I mean?
It wasn't too good. I love you guys, I love what you're leading. Pastor DeLisa, you got a heart, we've been able to interact. Man, a little power couple here, man, and what God's got on you guys is really special, and I think, you know, we're talking. We had a conversation yesterday, I said, we're in the golf cart, and can I just say this? Me and Pastor Justin, the worst golfers you've ever seen in all your life. I said, bro, you got to be blown away by what God's doing in and through you, man. And he said, yeah, bro, I am. He goes, but this was always the vision. He goes in, and I'm just not content to stay here, and I just believe that you guys are really at the beginning of all that God's going to do in and through this place. And come on, let's take Chandler, let's take Arizona, then we'll take the nation, take the globe. Man, my wife's not with me this morning, but pretty much any time I travel to speak, I share our story. The way God brought our family together was a little unorthodox, but this is like one of my favorite stories to tell the third or fourth time that we were ever hanging out while we were dating. She sat me down on her couch. She started weeping, and I'm like, oh, no, there's a kid I don't know about, you know, and I would have stayed. I loved her, but she goes, hey, she goes, I want you to know something. I have a brain tumor, it presses up against my pituitary gland, it's not cancerous, it's benign, but your pituitary gland is your control center for your whole body, so her hormones are never regular. And so she was like, I just don't know apart from a miracle or medicine that I'll be able to have kids, and I need you to know this before you get into this thing. I said, girl, we're good, I'm riding with you, don't worry about it. We've passed forward, like four years later, we get, or fast forward, we get married, we've been married for four years, and, you know, yeah, yeah. No, we've been married for nine years now, I'm giving you this story, but we had tried for four years. It, uh, hallelujah. Oh, I'm not getting invited back now, you know, uh, and your friends start having kids and negative pregnancy tests after negative pregnancies test, after negative pregnancy test, it gets discouraging. So in 2020, we got certified to foster kids in January of 2021. We brought in a one year old and a two year old girls. Okay. January 2021, we bring in a one year old and a two year old January, February, March of 2021. She's pregnant, right? But I'm not surprised because the God we serve is able to do more than we could ask
for a match in the God we serve. He'll the God we serve is the God we serve is able. Come on. If you win me this morning, give them some praise. What do you need from the Lord? We'll break through to you. What do you believe in God for? Don't you know he's able this morning? All right. I'll read my scripture that I'll let you all sit. I want to talk about righteousness this morning. And so let's read Matthew six, one, it says this, be careful not to practice your righteousness. Everyone say righteousness. Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your father in heaven. Come on high five, your neighbor, tell them you're glad they came to church. Feel free to have a seat in this place. Oh, this 11 30 experience is dangerous, baby. Hey, when I was first eight in my wife, I got invited to the annual family party, the Fourth of July party. Okay. So we got all the aunts, all the uncles, all the cousins. There's like a hundred people there. And it's early on in our dating journey. And I'm like, I got to make a good impression with the family. So I'm on my best behavior. I'm smiling, shaking hands, kissing babies, the whole deal, you know. And her mom comes up to me at some point in the night and she says, Mark, I want you to oversee fireworks. And I'm like, I got you. I can do that. No problem. So I get who's now my brother in law, Mike, we get the fireworks and we go about 40 yards away from everybody onto this piece of plywood. And then everybody's gathered over here to sort of watch the fireworks show. And so as we unbox the fireworks, I pull out the tube, I pull out the fireworks. It's three fireworks connected to one wick. And then we have our lighter.
And as I'm looking at the fireworks space out, I just have a brain fart. And I look at Mike and I say, Mike, I don't think we use the tube. And Mike's a little more passive in nature. And Mike's looks at me and goes, Mark, I definitely think we use the tube. And I'm like, nah, I just don't think so. He goes, all right. So I go to light the wick that's just laying on the ground. And as I light it, Mike takes off running. And I don't know if you've read the prodigal son story where it says he's in the pig slop and it says, and he came to his senses. It's exactly what happened as I'm lighting this wick. So I do the only thing I know to do copy, Mike, I take off running too. All right. So I like that thing and I run off over here. And then all of a sudden it happens. Where does that thing go right into the family party where all hundred people are, you would have thought a terrorist was in the backyard. Complete chaos breaks out. Okay. The kids are running, parents are grabbing their kids. They're ducking for a cover. There's nowhere to hide. I'm like, oh my gosh, this is terrible. And here's the problem. There's two more coming and there's nothing I can do. Just like Lord, all right. So the second one, the chaos ensues. People are screaming. The third one. Well, my, my now father in law was missing a chunk of hair. Dude, this was, yeah, bro, the, uh, some kids had some fat lips. It was just the tube, the fireworks in the flame. Because I had a partial understanding of how the fireworks operated. And I just want you to know,
I'm coming for you a little this morning because I think when it comes to righteousness, I just wanna challenge you with this. I think a lot of the church, I think a lot of believers, we have a partial understanding of what it looks like to live righteously. And I wanna challenge that this morning. How many know in Matthew five, six, I believe it is. It says this, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. There's a calling on every believer to live a righteous life. It's what Jesus does. When we put faith in him, he imparts righteousness to us. Matthew six, 33, I know you know the verse. But seek first his kingdom and live righteously. And all these things will be added to you. There is a call on the life of a believer to live a righteous life. Now, here's the deal, seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. Now the kingdom, we think kingdom and we think about princes and princesses and all those things, but in this context, I want you to think of kingdom as governance. It's about God's reign and his rule in the earth, that he has dominion over an area. God, let your kingdom come as your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We welcome your reign here, God.
So if God's kingdom is about his reign, then righteousness is about the culture of the kingdom. When you're a part of the kingdom, this is what it looks like lived out. It's God's character. It's God's standards. It's God's covenant faithfulness. It's right relationship with God and with others. But here's again, what I wanna challenge you, I just wonder if some of us, we have a partial understanding of what it looks like to live out this righteousness. Now, first thing I gotta clarify about righteousness is it's not something you earn. It's not something you can achieve. And Paul makes this really clear in Romans four, he writes this, he says, "For the scriptures tell us, Abraham believed God, not achieved, not worked for, not prayed enough. Abraham believed God and God counted him as righteous because of his faith." Now, here's the deal, obedience is fruit of my belief. But what made me right in God's sight was that I trusted him, was that I had faith in him, not that I did enough, that not that I was obedient enough. It was something he did in me, and then obedience was the fruit of my faith. When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people who are counted as righteous,
but people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners. So I want you to know this, God didn't make you righteous 'cause you were good enough, God made you righteous because he loved you and you trusted him and you believed in him. When he went up on that cross and took on the wrath of death, hell in the grave, when he was put in the grave, resurrected, defeated death, hell in the grave, and came out, he said, "If you will trust me, I will impart to you what you could never earn." It's saying about what you can do. It's about what I've done. That's where righteousness comes from, but then we'll also see verses like this, which can challenge this idea. 2 Corinthians 3, 18 says, "So all of us who have had the veil removed "can see and reflect the glory of the Lord, "and the Lord who is spirit," watch this, "makes us more and more like him "as we're changed into his glorious image." So not only are we made righteous in a moment, God cleanses us of our sin. We're now fit for the standard of heaven, but there's also something about this journey on earth where we're becoming more and more like Christ, where we're becoming more and more righteous.
I would say it like this. Not only upon faith, as I place my faith in Christ, not only am I made righteous positionally, but I'm also becoming righteous progressively. And so this positional righteousness is called imputed righteousness. It only comes from God. You can only receive it from God, but this practice righteousness is what I wanna challenge us on today. Because I think it's the practice righteousness that some of us, we don't have a full understanding. If I surveyed the room right now, and I said to you, what does it look like to live righteous? There'd be some good answers. Read your Bible, worship, attend church, share your faith, fast. You know all these things. And I would say that's great. How many of you would agree? Like that's what it looks like to live righteously. How many would say? Come on, you come raising, I'm not trying to trick you. You know, maybe I am a little bit. I would say that so many certain, the other experience. That's what I appreciate. I Would say it's it's not a matter on if though if that's what defines righteousness I just think is that a complete definition and my answer today would be we're missing something and Ancient Judaism they defined righteousness with three pillars. They called us the holy triad and It was prayer which makes sense
Communion with God Talking with God It was prayer it was fasting. Would you guys know something about? Denying myself Personal holiness saying yes to God Pursuing God that makes sense prayer fasting, but you know what the third pillar was Carrying for the poor What does it look like to live righteously it looks like caring for the poor And I'm challenged by that because I think here when I surveyed the room when I asked you Was that in your top three? When it came to righteous living wasn't in mine You know Jesus taught on righteousness just to hit this point take this point a little bit further drive it home a little further In Matthew 6 1 he says hey be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others if you do you'll receive your full reward and Then he goes on to follow that statement with three examples of righteous living and the right way to live out your righteousness Are y'all tracking with me? Okay? I'm just I'm being teach you here for a second, but I'm taking you somewhere So he goes don't practice your righteousness in front of others then he gives examples after three examples Prayer is one of them. Don't battle on like the pagans using their many words and repetitious flows hoping that he accomplishes what God wants Right, we've heard this sermon on the mount. You know I'm talking about and then he talks about fasting And he's like don't be fasting and showing up all crusty. You know put oil on your head You know he's like take don't be looking all grumpy. Oh, I'm just so spiritual. I'm so hungry I just like that's not what this is. No one should know because it's between you and me If your heart is pure don't let anybody know you're fasting So he mentions those two things there's a third thing he answers But it is actually the first thing he mentioned You know what that is When you care for those in need Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. So just track with me Jesus is teaching on righteousness. Then he lays out what it looks like to live righteous Practically and the first thing he thinks to mention is caring for the poor
Where was it on your priority list? When I think about righteous living I'm me. I'm talking to me, but I hope it challenges you too I'm thinking I got to read my Bible more. I gotta pray with my kids. I gotta disciple my family. I gotta I gotta share my faith I gotta But Jesus is like I care about how you treat people Because the greatest commandment was love the Lord your God without your heart soul and strength But the second is is equally important, which is what love your neighbor This is close to God's heart. Not only did Jesus teach on this thing But I can go from Old Testament to New Testament and I can see that this has always been God's heart There's a prophet Jeremiah He rolls up on King Jehoya Kim who's the son of King Josiah just tracked with me here Right a lot of names hard names to pronounce too. Okay, so you have King Josiah. He's the good guy He was the dad. He did a good job as king King Jehoya Kim. I don't know something went wrong with the kid He's off. He's he's he's using the wealth to accumulate for himself He's selfish Jeremiah comes as the voice of the Lord. He's a prophet He's a mouthpiece for God and he confronts King Jehoya Kim While he's confronting him he shares with him what his dad did well so it's really as if God is speaking to King Jehoya Kim and When he goes to celebrate what his dad did he only mentions one thing specifically and you know what he didn't mention He didn't mention his military success He didn't mention his political reform. He didn't mention his wealth and he didn't mention his famous temple restoration This is what God saw fit for his son to know as he celebrated the work of his father He defended the cause of the poor and the needy so all went well Is that not what it means to know me Jeremiah 22 16 you know what that sounds like to me Seek first the kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you He cared for the poor and the needy and so all went well for him book of Isaiah another prophet to the nation The people that Isaiah is surrounded by the Jews at that time They're doing the right things. They're fasting, but they're frustrated
'cause they're not hearing from God. So they're like, "God, where are you? We're doing all the right things, man. We've been serving you, we've been fasting, we've been crying out, what's going on? Why are you ignoring us?" While they were doing all that, they were simultaneously exploiting workers, pursuing their own interests, ignoring injustice, and they were neglecting the needy. And so God essentially says this, "I ain't releasing nothing until you care for my people." Oh, I got some things for you. I've heard those prayers. I got it for you. But until you start caring for those that I care for, because seek first his kingdom, live righteously, and then all these things will be added to you. There's an order. So watch this, this is what the prophet Isaiah shares as they're frustrated that God's not responding. It goes, "Oh, Isaiah goes, oh, he's ready to respond." After this, let's read it. Isaiah 58, verse six, "Is not the kind of fasting I have chosen to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter
when you see the naked, to clothe them and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" When you do those things, verse eight, then your light will break forth like the dawn, your healing will quickly appear, and then your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. That sounds to me like seek first the kingdom, live righteously, and then all these things will be added to you, James 1, 27. Last one, I promise. Pure and genuine religion is this, to care for the orphans and the widows and to not let the world corrupt you. I'm not saying holy living isn't a part of righteousness. I'm not saying memorizing scripture and reading your Bible and going to your small group and all those and inviting somebody to homecoming coming up. I'm not saying all that. It's not a part of righteousness, it is. But there was just something God stated before it. There was just something God mentioned before it. And it was the care for the orphan and the widows. What does it say about God's priorities? What does it say about God's passion? What does it say about God's heart? And here we are. Do I have enough scripture memorized? Do I have a worship?
Did I raise my hands and worship? Did I respond when I was supposed to? And I think all that's great, but at the same time, are we just as passionate? When we get up out of bed every morning, God, who do you have an assignment? Who do you have for me today? Who am I caring for? Who do I need a minister to? Who do I need to care for? 'Cause I want to see people the way you see people. And I know that legacy carries this heart and I know that your leaders carry this heart. And that's why they're so passionate about partnering with Convoy of Hope because that's right in the vein of who we are and what we do. But it's only possible because it partners like legacy church because the generosity of all of you. If you don't know a lot about who we are, I just want to say this. We want to eradicate poverty, man. We want to be radical about it. Like I don't know. I think if you got dreams that don't scare you or don't feel impossible, then maybe they're not big enough. 'Cause I just see God's able to do more than we could ask or imagine. And so we just have dreams that we can maybe eradicate poverty.
Let's try to eradicate poverty from the earth. We can, and so we do that through implementing sustainable solutions. So there's really four pillars that we have. And it's children's feeding program. It's empowering women. It's training farmers. And then it's responding to natural disasters. I have stats from 2025 'cause 2026 is in over. We'll have those for you next year. Come on, somebody. 2025, every single day, we discipled and fed 677,000 kids all over the globe every single day in 2025. All of this is done through the local church and schools. But part of the reason we're so passionate about feeding kids is because hungry stomachs don't have ears. So how is a kid supposed to learn, grow, knowledge is power in a lot of ways? If we want these kids to have an opportunity, if we want these kids to break out of some of the cycles they found themselves, education is part of the way. But it's gonna be really difficult for them to learn when they haven't had breakfast or lunch. So that's part of the heart with our feeding. Women, they're marginalized all over the world. We said, okay, let's do something about it. So we train them, we equip them, we disciple them, we teach them entrepreneur skills, then we give them capital seed money, teach them to start a business.
I've been, I've been to Guatemala. Carolina runs the, she's the national director, sweet woman. And I've seen her take in prostitutes off the street. And they come in and they commit to a six month program. They can't quit, they gotta go through it. It can be beauty, it can be culinary, it can be IT, it can be hairdressing, it can be all these different things. They go through six months, they come out, they get capital C, they teach them how to start a business, they come out and it's transforming their lives. What we do, we train farmers, they increase their yield from 200 to 400%, that will dramatically impact a community when they have food that they didn't have access to before. And then we respond to natural disasters, which is some of the most difficult time people ever find themselves in and often can be detrimental to the economic system in a specific area. And so we respond and we show up when those things happen. This is who we are. I want you to know this, because you guys partnered with Convly of Hope, every time we respond to a hurricane or tornado that leads devastation or a wildfire, legacy church is there because of your generosity. (audience applauding) I just wanna challenge you with this. Have you been living with a partial understanding of righteousness? I'll say it like this.
Have you been setting off fireworks without the tube? 'Cause watch, I've been reading, I've been praying, I got the lighter, I've been sharing my faith, I've been inviting people, the fireworks, but have we been caring for the poor? Because you know what's interesting about the tube if I forgot the tube, the tube is the mechanism through which the firework is shot up in the air, put on display for all to see. And when I think of the words of Jesus, he said, "They'll know you're my disciples "by the way that you read. "They'll know you're my disciples "by the way that you worship. "They'll know you're my disciples "by how large your churches are. "They'll know you're my disciples "by the way that you love." Come on, don't forget the tube. (audience applauding) Last thing I want to share and then I got just a short video for you guys. But look, Jesus teaches on the final judgment. And we could guess what that conversation would look like. That's just a powerful moment, you know? Like man, what would Jesus say? And he teaches, he's on his glorious throne and the believers are in front of him and this is how the conversation goes. Then the king will say to those on his right,
"Come, you who are blessed by my Father, "inherit the kingdom prepared for you "from the creation of the world." Watch, watch, watch. Final conversation, last, the final judgment. This is what Jesus sees fit to say. If you haven't been convinced already that this is God's heart, watch this. For I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you invited me into your home. I was naked and you gave me clothing. I was sick and you cared for me. I was in prison and you visited me. And they respond. No, we didn't. What are you talking about? I'm not saying we didn't do any of those things, Lord. We just, we didn't do them for you. And Jesus replies like this. The king will say, verse 40, I tell you the truth. When you did it to one of the least of these, one of the least of these, the last, the lost and the least, when you cared for the poor, when you did it for one of the least of it, when you used the tube, come on, I'm just making sure we catch it. You did it for me. You did it for me? Man, I want to show you just this short video here.
It gives you a picture of the kind of impact churches like legacy have had all over the globe. Let's watch this video together. (dramatic music) (indistinct chatter) (dramatic music) Oh, this one is Madare. Madare Valdi. The opponent has no income or source of money, so they are being left home, not going to school. Maybe the opponents are bedridden, maybe they are affected with the HIV. The kids who the opponent are drug addicts, those are poor, the poor. I need to do something for those kids. I want to change my community holistically. May God help me to be a lamb, to make a change, because I just believe that change starts with us. They are surviving on their own. No one to take care of them, no one to natch of them, no one to teach them, no one to train them. This is why we have this program through taking the children to our school. We become father to them, counsellor, guidance, and they are protected. The school has already grown and was getting broken down. That time we do not even provide food. We didn't have anybody to support us. You cannot teach us only the empty stomach, because they cannot concentrate. So now when the convoy hope came in, it was like a dream. We have roads, we have roads, we have roads, we have lunch, and also tomorrow they will come because they know that in school there is food. And when they stay at home, there is no food. The convoy hope is like a petrol being put in a car. They are energizing me every day. But we need to do more because in Nagare, food alone could not give them brighter future. We call it chana. Some people have an economic kill me slowly. That chana is made up of unclean water from Madare River.
It's mixed with ethanol. They think that maybe taking alcohol is the only solution to make them now to forget about the problem that they are passing through. I grew when my father was drinking. It has been his habit when he is drunk, he come at home. He started abusing us, starts screaming like a mad person. I think it was affecting his brain. Partic was my neighbour and one day came and told me that there is an organisation who want to mentor some girls. We just bring them together, we talk with them, we do the counselling. I never lacked the way I was. I just see myself as a disappointment. But when I came to realise that I was made in good image and likeness, this motivated me through this programme. I realised that I can become a better person and I can express myself. I would not like to see another child or another girl passing the same thing that I myself passed through. I have hope. It's like my dream is coming true. Out of thousands, millions of people here in Kenya, they knew that God has called us to come and meet his vessels. Through these kids, I know that we were chosen out of many to present the Kingdom of God. I want to show you a picture quick here, this Excel spreadsheet. This is a list, everyone documented, that's on our waiting list right now. Kids, waiting to get into one of our programmes. We got the systems, we got the structure. What are you waiting for? Money. Can I just be so real? Cost money, resource. 535,000 kids. You saw we fed 677,000 a day, but our goal is to feed a million a day by 2030. I know that's going to happen and it's going to happen because legacy church caught God's heart for compassion and generosity. You said, "You know what? I'm going to play my part. I'm going to play my role." It's one day to feed the world. I'm gonna ask you would take your annual salary, 365 days, divide it by 365 days, your annual salary, and one day's work, would you be willing to give that today? To feed the world, $10 a feed a kid for a month,
$120 a feed a kid for a month, sorry, day for a month, third experience, relax. Right? And I just believe this, if we all play our role, we all do our part, the impact can change the world. Do you believe that? Can I pray over you? Lord, we come to you today. God, what a privilege it is to be considered your sons and your daughters. We've seen people saved in this altar already, God. Your spirit is here, you're present. God, I ask that you would stir up generosity and legacy church right now. To care for the orphan and care for the widow. To care for the last, the loss in the least because the reality is, Lord, you said blessed are the poor in spirit. That was us. We all were in spiritual poverty. Yet you loved the world so much that you gave, you're one and only son. When we could offer you nothing, you gave us everything, God. You're the author of generosity, it's in your heart. And so today, we recognize the opportunity to echo your character, to echo our father. So God, I ask that you'll do it. Speak to your people, convict the heart of your people. In Jesus' name, we all said, amen.
Legacy has been an absolute honor and a privilege. Love you guys, thank you. Okay, if you're still watching at this point, I believe that it's not an accident. I believe that if you're feeling something in your spirit, that is God trying to get your attention and invite you into a deeper relationship with him. And so if you're ready to take that step, I wanna walk you through what that looks like. It's simple, we're gonna say a prayer together. And it's just you acknowledging that you believe that Jesus is who he says he is and that you're willing to commit your life to following him and learning to what it means to be a son or daughter of God. So repeat after me if you can. Jesus, here I am, I believe that you love me, that you died for me and that you want a relationship with me. I acknowledge that I'm a sinner and I need a savior. And I'm committing to learning what it means to be a follower of Jesus. If I mess up, I will not quit because you've never quit on me. I invite your Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me in your truth from today on. In Jesus' name, amen. Hey, we're proud of you. That's a huge decision. And we don't want you to feel like you have to figure it all out on your own from this point.
