Reaping Where You Didn't Sow

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. (I Corinthians 3:1 NKJV)

Carnal people can still be in Christ.

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1 NKJV)

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. (I Corinthians 2:16 NKJV)

You have the mind of Christ; you have the potential to be carnal minded.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6 NKJV)

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; (I Corinthians 3:2 NKJV)

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:12-14 NKJV)

If you are unskilled on how righteous you are, you are on milk.

For you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? (I Corinthians 3:3 NKJV)

You are not like other men.

For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal? (I Corinthians 3:4 NKJV)

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. (I Corinthians 3:5, 6 NKJV)

3-fold process to growth.

Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. (Romans 7:1-4 NKJV)

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. (I Corinthians 3:7, 8 NKJV)

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 3:9-11 NKJV)
