today on power in the word so he's trying to get to Abraham personally what he's saying to Abraham but it's more than that is for you and me because we're in Abraham now because we're in Christ so we're walking by faith we receive every bit of this thing in Deuteronomy 28 by faith not because we act right do right and look right and act right and do the right thing it's because who we are we stand in it because of who we are here I am standing in it because he's made me righteous and so all that stuff is mine I'm a magnet for all that stuff to come to me because of who I am in him I'm not trying to be good I am good because he made me good welcome to power in the word sometimes it's hard for us to believe that as followers of Jesus we're a blessed people well today dr. Norris shows us that our heritage and our entitlements extend all the way back to father Abraham it's a great teaching so you stay with us and be encouraged go to Matthew chapter 1 verse 1 we're gonna talk about being an heir of the blessing of Abraham now I think a lot of people don't really understand what that means so we're gonna start with Matthew chapter 1 verse 1 and the book of genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David and also the son of Abraham now if you read that and you start the genealogy start thinking about where you came from you got to do a little analysis on yourself and say how can I be from the son of David and also a son of Abraham well it's very simple son of Abraham is only what you got was the promises of the land the wealth and all the things in the physical but what you got as being a son of David was the throne and the kingship and the royalty all those things come from David and you got all the blessings from Abraham so not only you're a son of Abraham you're also a son of David so turn to somebody say I deserve the royalty and I deserve all the blessings now I'm telling something God spoke to me last night I was I woke up about 330 and I got up and I went downstairs and the Holy Spirit spoke to me and he said this to me he said Pete you got a dream bigger man he said you don't you don't think big enough and I'll ask you a question that do you think big enough is your is your thinking and God's thinking lining up well go to Genesis chapter 12 verse 2

and 3 and let's get started I will make you he's talking personally to Abraham he said I'm gonna make you a great nation turn to somebody say I'm I'm the you and I'll bless you say I'm to you and I'll make your name great and you shall be a blessing say I'm the blessing how many of you know you're the blessing of people you're the blessing you're the you in that turn to somebody again say I'm to you in there look at verse 3 and I will bless those who bless you say I'm to you and he'll curse him who curses you say I'm to you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed so he's telling Abraham I'm making this very personal with you Abraham now everywhere it says Abraham I want you to put your name because you're a seed of Abraham so everything that Abraham has is yours now you don't believe that or you'd have it right now all of us love Deuteronomy 28 we love to read about the blessing in the first 14 verses but the other 53 or the curses and if you look at the world it looks like more the 53 being used in the 14 but we know it's not true because is it that's not true or is it not that we don't understand who we are and we're not speaking who we are we're not confessing who we are we're not seeing ourselves as who we are so he told Abraham he said in you all the families that are to be blessed say in you how many of you know that you're a blessing to everybody you get around you're a blessing everybody you get around so Abraham was only there was only thing he was telling him he said look east look north like West look south and everything you see is yours how many of you believe everything you see is yours you don't or you'd have everything that's just all so what are we really looking for what are we expecting God to do what are we expecting that grace to activate them and manifest in our life God's not just gonna give it to you you're gonna have to note it is yours I want to go to Galatians chapter 3 verse 29 and if you're Christ have any of your Christ then you're Abraham seed so if you're in Christ then wrong then Genesis 12 2 and 3 is your name correct well pastor that's in the Old Covenant no that's passed on because the seed is Christ in the New Testament brings the activation of the Old Testament into your life if the if the New Covenant has new is

better promises it's got to have there Oh everything the old one had plus some so you get everything that was in Abraham then you're Abraham seed and heirs according to the promise what was the promise all the blessings and all the favor and Jesus Christ was the promise of the one coming that was going to bring you back into Abraham seed and give you the heritage and all the things that you deserved it's all yours guys it ain't bad he don't say you got to have education what Abraham go to school where Dave's you haven't got a theological school where'd he get his degree in in technology and where'd he get his degree in in economics he didn't have one All he had was a word. I'm not against education, but I'm telling you, we let education limit us and put bonders on us and contain us. Now I understand knowledge is power, but there's a whole lot of people who ain't got no revelation. I mean, ain't got no education that's got a whole lot of revelation going to do more than the people that's got education. So, I know a guy in this town that was worth a million dollars when he died and he couldn't read or write, never finished the third grade. But he's got a successful business and some of you probably bought stuff there already. Go me to 2nd Peter chapter 1 verse 3. Watch this. And has his divine power have given unto us all things? So he's given you all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his glory and his virtue. Who's the knowledge that we got that gave us all things? The seed of Jesus, which is Jesus. Jesus gave us all that things pertain to life and godliness. Now, does finances in your house pertain to life? Does your house pertain to life? How many of you living in the yard? So it pertains to life, doesn't it? How many of you got plenty of groceries? How many of you got a checking account? How many of you drove a car up here tonight? Nobody walked? Did you walk? Did you park your wagon out by it? No. Why? All these things pertain to life and godliness, but we haven't understood that God wants us to have all the things that pertain to life and godliness. Not only he wants you to have, he's given them to you. The Holy Spirit's been sent to reveal all those things that have been freely given to us, but we don't believe they're ours because we got to

earn them. We do not understand this message of grace. I'm telling you now, we don't understand this message of grace. Go to Galatians chapter 3 verse 7. Therefore, know that only those who are of faith are the sons of Abraham. How many of you know that only those that are of faith are the sons of Abraham? Are you by faith? Or are you walking by the law and a bunch of rules? You're walking by faith. So what does that make you? A son of Abraham. This word in the actual Greek text here, sons, means you look so much like him you can't tell us apart. So if I'm a son of Abraham, then I got everything that Abraham got. I inherited it because I'm Abraham's seed. Guys, do you understand? It's yours. We got to get a hold of this thing that it ain't trying to get to us. I ain't got to earn it. I ain't got to deserve it. It's just mine because of who I am, because I'm in Christ. And so all those blessings in favor are mine. Listen, well I got to sow to make them happen. Not necessarily. Because the Bible said those promises out. It don't matter how much you sow if you don't believe they coming. How many of you believe that God wants to bless you? Go to Romans chapter 9 verse 8. Now watch this. That is those who are the children of the flesh. Who's the children of the flesh? The Jews. Now I'm gonna shake some people with this message because who's the children of the flesh? The Jews. These are not the children of God. He's saying the Jews are not the children of God. They're the children of the flesh. But the children of the promise are counted as a seed. He's talking about the Gentiles. Me and you that are believers are counted as the seed. Why? Because we're walking by faith and we have the promise of Abraham's seed inside of us. You say pastor are you against the Jews? No I'm not. I'm just reading the book. So he said that those who are children of the flesh are not the children of God. Now watch this. If you're walking by the law you're children of flesh. I don't care if you're a Jew or Gentile or whatever you are. Amen? So go with me to Romans chapter 4 verse 13. For the promise that he would be an heir of the world was not Abraham or to his seed through the law but it was through the righteousness of what? It was the righteousness of faith. So it was all given to us not because I inherited it because of what I did. I inherited it because of who he was and

what I accepted. Do you understand that it's by faith that you receive all the promises and the favor and the blessings of Abraham. He told Abraham he said Abraham it's time for you to leave. And Abraham parted ways and he told Sarah. Now how many of you I can see Ronnie Williams coming home tomorrow and saying you know what Carolyn I love you honey but God told us to sell everything we got and move. Where are we going? I don't know but God's gonna show us when we get there. I don't think that would go over too well. I know them well enough to know I don't know how that go. But that's exactly what happened to Abraham and Sarah. And he said I want you to take anybody with you I want you to follow me. Now that took some faith. But sometimes we got we're full of that same faith. Listen to me if God spoke to you to do it you'd do it. I know you would. Why? Because that faith would rise up in you to do it. But God ain't gonna tell me Pete pull up move here or pull move I don't reckon. Or pull up move there. If he does I'll pull up move there. Why? Because I'm telling you it's a time in our lives that we're walking by faith and the promises in the favor of God are on our life. Listen you can be blessed no matter. Listen it doesn't matter where you are it matters who you are. It don't matter what you know it matters who you know. You ain't got to have a bunch of people to like you just one person to think a lot of you Go to Galatians chapter 3 7 and 8 therefore know that only those who are faith are the sons of God So he's saying here the Jews cannot be a son of Abraham because they're not they're not walking by faith look at verse 8 and The scripture foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles who's that? By faith preach the gospel to Abraham beforehand saying in you all the nations of the earth shall be blessed Now how many of you know? That's the same thing that Galatians chapter 12 verse 3 says in you all the nations of the earth to be what? In you all the next he told Abraham the gospel was preached to Abraham ahead of time When when he took Isaac up onto the mount he took him up on the mountain He said you look over in the thicket and he looked over the thicket and a ram was caught He said the Lord apply supply himself a sacrifice

But he told the guys going up the mountain He said if I go up the mountain me and him are gonna come back because if he dies He's still gonna resurrect him because that's who Christ is. Come on somebody Abraham saw this thing ahead of time you and I have the promises of God Let's stop acting like we ain't got him and oh, I don't want to be prideful Let me tell you something It's time to be a little bit stern and what you believe and say, you know No matter what it looks like what happens I'm gonna walk in this thing because I know who I am I'm a state of being it's not what I'm trying to become. I'm it Turn to someone say I'm it Go to Romans chapter 1 Romans chapter 1 For I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ What is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes for the Jew first and also for the Greek verse 17? For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written. The just shall live by what? The just shall live by faith. Are you living by faith now? go back to Galatians chapter 3 verse 8 because we're gonna jump back and see something here Galatians chapter 3 verse 8 and The scripture foreseeing that God would declare righteous the Gentiles how So, how did you become righteous by what you did? No, he declared he justified the Gentiles by what God would declare the righteous the Gentiles by what? By faith, that's the only way you can get it. It ain't my works Preach the gospel beforehand saying in you all the nations of the earth to be blessed So he told Abraham Abraham said I know if I go up here It doesn't matter what happens up here if I sacrifice my son if I don't it ain't gonna do anything And why did God tell him that his only begotten son? How about Hagar? He was the first one born to him But he wasn't the right seed You got to understand you're the right seed Because you're the seed of Abraham. It's not what you do. It's what you believe go meet a Galatians chapter 3 verse 16 Now to Abraham and his seed where the promise is made He does not say and to the seeds as of many but as to one and to your seed who is who? He said Abraham you got one seed brother and

Everybody's in that seed glory be to God Everybody's in that seed in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God in the beginning of everything There was that word and you were in that word and everybody was in that word and everybody was in Christ because you were in Christ before the foundation were there was only ever one word and everyone was in that word that word word was everyone and Everybody manifested out of that one seed that started in the beginning because God only made one apple seed and all these apples have come From that seed now you can count the amount of seeds in the apple, but you can't count kind of apples in the seed So Nobody could count the amount of apples that was in the seed. What am I saying to you? I'm saying to you today that you and I need to understand that we're from the right seed We're from the right seed You don't get what you deserve because you do right you get what you deserve because of what you believe The Bible said come and be and be believing with believing Abraham and all of you are thinking. I know you know this well good I'm just reinforcing it Go to me to Romans chapter 4 verse 13 again Because I'm reiterating this over and over and over because I want you to see it for the promise of that He would be an heir of the world for the promise that he would be an heir of the world was not to Abraham Or to his seed through the law But it was only going to be through the righteousness of faith How do I become righteous by faith? I? Receive the work that Jesus did and I become just like him whom who knew no sin Became seeing that I might become the righteousness of God. I'm telling you right now I don't care how much you've heard it how much you've heard it preached or how many books you've read We haven't got a full grasp of what the righteousness of God looks like. I'm telling we haven't gotten it. I'm speaking for myself I'm not speaking for you. I'm speaking for myself, but I want you to go to Galatians chapter 3 3 verse 10 Galatians chapter 3 verse 10 and as many as are of the works of a law not under the law but of the works of a law they are under the curse in other words as many as are of the works of a law they didn't say under the law is it as many as are what of the works of a law how many of you know that you and I have been redeemed from the curse of a law okay the works of a law are under the curse the people just trying to work the law are the ones under the curse

the ones just trying to do right and act right and live right and do right and do the right thing and perform right they're the ones under the curse for it's written curses everyone who does not continue and all the things which are written in the book of the law to do them now he threw that right in the middle of all those other scriptures we just read now why do you throw that in there because we broke one of the law you broke them all but Jesus come and fulfill the law and because he fulfilled the law mean you're no longer under the law because the laws been met the law let's say the laws perfect you just can't do it turn to somebody I can't do it now go back me to Galatians chapter 3 verse 7 therefore know that only those who are faith are the sons of Abraham so the Jews cannot be the sons of Abraham because they're not of faith look at verse 8 and then we see that the scripture justified the Gentiles by faith preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand saying in you all the nation of the earth shall be blessed now look at verse 10 so then those who are the faith are blessed with performing living right doing right Abraham no they're all blessed we have been leaving Abraham in other words what did he say the Bible said that Abraham was made righteous it was imputed that he was righteous not because he did everything right I can show you where Abraham slept with a woman that won his wife I can show you where Abraham lied and said his wife was his sister I'm Abraham didn't do right but he had the promise of a seed and because he had the promise he believed God what did he believe God he believed God because Jesus was preached to him ahead of time so he knew Jesus was coming so if he took his son up on the mountain it didn't matter if he sacrificed his son God was gonna raise him up they're both gonna come back down why because he knew Jesus turn to somebody say I know Jesus now faith is blessed with believing Abraham not working or performing but believing now go me to back to Genesis I will make you a great nation I will bless you underline you I'll make you I will bless you and I'll make your name great and you shall be a blessing a blessing say blessing now I'm gonna shake you right now how many of you know that the actual Greek word for the Hebrew word for

bless is the word Barak B-A-R-A-K we had a president named that just a few years ago remember it means to endure with power for success prosperity and longevity so what he's saying is I'll make you a great nation I'll bless you I'll make your name great and you'll be a blessing now look at verse 3 I'll bless those who bless you I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed six times he says you in there so he's trying to get to Abraham personally what he's saying to Abraham but he's more than that is for you and me because we're in Abraham now because we're in Christ so we're walking by faith we receive every bit of this thing in Deuteronomy 28 by faith not because we act right do right and look right and act right and do the right thing it's because well who we are we stand in it because of who we are here I am standing in it because he's made me righteous and so all that stuff is mine I'm a magnet for all that stuff to come to me because of who I am in him I'm not trying to be good I am good because he made me good are you with me so I'm righteous because of my standing with him it's the state of being and not a way of acting he didn't act right but look look at Psalms 91 16 but what I tell you now the word blessed means to what power for success prosperity and longevity the only people that have a problem with prosperity ones that don't have it the only people that have a problem with sickness is the one sick 90% of the time think about it that doesn't mean we're not gonna go through these things it don't mean we're not gonna deal with these things what I'm trying to get you to see is that the way you believe is the life you're gonna live because what's every man think it in his heart that's what he is Proverbs 23 and 7 what do you think about yourself do you see yourself prospering do you see yourself being blessed do you see yourself having favor do you see you're expecting a favor and blessings and righteous to follow you all the days of your life are you expecting the favor and the goodness of God to follow you around absolutely you're expecting the favor of God you're expecting goodness and mercy to follow you all the days of your life now going back with me to the Galatians chapter 3 verse 8 you say you love that scripture

don't you yeah cuz it's got great meaning and the scripture and the scripture and the scripture foreseeing that God foreseeing that means he saw it ahead of time that God would declare righteous the Gentiles how he preached that same gospel Abraham beforehand saying in you All the nations shall be blessed. Turn to somebody and say I'm blessed. Say I'm blessed. Go to Hebrews chapter 2 verse 14. Hebrews chapter 2 verse 14. In as much then as the children have betaken of flesh and blood he likewise shared in the same that through death, say through death, he might destroy him. Say destroy him who had the power of death. That is who? The devil. Now look at verse 15. And release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Now think about that just a minute. What was he doing? He was destroying him who had the power of death which was the devil and he released those who through the fear of death were all their lives subject to the bondage. What did he do? He destroyed the enemy and he released you from anything that the law was trying to bring towards you. Because until sin entered the earth there was no death. You cannot have death unless you have sin. If you don't have sin you can't have death. That's why I mean Jesus never talks about death in the New Testament. He talks about going to sleep in Christ because there's no death without sin. Only sin, only death reign because of sin. But Jesus said I come and life reigns because of me. And because of that you who were dead I've quickened and made you alive in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah. Because of that you and I have victory. Turn to someone and say I got victory. Now look at verse 16. This is powerful scripture here. Most people don't understand what the scripture says. For indeed he does not give aid to the angels. Translation of the Greek text here actually in the word give aid means the nature of. You and I don't have the nature of angels. But we do have the nature of a seed of Abraham. Now you read that it says but he does not give aid to the seed of Abraham. That's not what it means. It means give the nature to the seed of Abraham. You and I have the nature of a seed of Abraham. Read the book. Luke chapter 13 verse 12. Watch this now. This is good. And

when Jesus saw her he called to her and he said to her woman you are loosened from your infirmity. Verse 13. And he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God. Verse 14. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. And he said to the crowd there are six days which this woman ought to work and therefore come and be healed. These six days which men ought to work and come and be healed on them and not on the Sabbath day. Look at verse 15. The Lord then answered him you hypocrite does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox and donkey from the stall and lead it out to water. I'm just leading her to water is all he was saying. I'm leading her to water. I'm taking her to water. Look at verse 16. So ought not. If you there's that ought not again. You got to understand what that word means. Ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound. Think of it for 18 years be loosened from this bond on the Sabbath. Now he said why is she loose? Why should she be loose? Because she's a daughter of Abraham. Now look what Jesus said. He said the same thing the scribe and the Pharisees said. He said all you men got six days to work. He said well ought not this woman be loosened. Why? Because she's a daughter of Abraham. She didn't know she was a daughter of Abraham. The church ain't found out that they're in righteousness. They ain't found out who they are in Christ. You say well you preach it all the time we ought to know by now. Well think about it a minute. He said this being a daughter of Abraham is the reason she's gonna be released from it. Because who's bound her up? Satan has bound her up for 18 years but she's coming out. Why? Because all I'm doing is leading her to the water. He was trying to give them a revelation. You're leading your ox and your donkeys to the water on the Sabbath. All I'm doing is leading her to the water. What does the Bible say? The water is the washing of the Word. So we understand that he said this woman's loose because of who she is. Turn to somebody and say I got all this stuff because of who I am. Go with me to Luke 19. Luke 19. And when Jesus came to the place he looked up and he saw a little wee little man Zacchaeus. Make haste to come down. Only time in the Bible Jesus said any time to hurry up.

For today I must stay at your house. Verse six. So he made haste and he came down and received him joyfully. Verse seven. And when he saw it they all complained saying he this he's going to a guest of a man's house who a sinner. So they knew Zacchaeus all of a sudden they didn't diagnose him he was a sinner. Right? They called him a sinner. Describes in the Pharisees church folks said this guy's a sinner and Jesus is going to his house. What in the world is he going to this sinner's house for? Verse eight. And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord look Lord I'll give half of my goods to the poor and if I've taken anything from anyone by false accusation I'm gonna give them fourfold. God didn't ask him to do that. Grace is always given. But Jesus could have said I'm gonna have to do that guy he's a sinner he's a crook and I'm just gonna go on down the road. That's what church does. Because you know what I ain't got time for that. ought to know better he's he's and we're intimidated by rich folks anyway look at verse 9 and Jesus said to him today salvation has come to this house because he is also he is what he's also a son of Abraham he's also what he's also Zacchaeus didn't know that but God saw him as he sees you as a seed of righteousness he sees you as a seed or the son of Abraham he sees you as a son of David no matter whether you ever get a revelation of it or not he sees you that way and he said this woman ought to be healed because she's a daughter of Abraham she ought you ought to be delivered because what you ought to be blessed why because you're a son of Abraham turn this to myself I'm a son of Abraham and you say well pastor why ain't I blessed because you're trying to make it happen instead of receiving it you're trying to achieve it you're trying to figure it out you're trying to get that loop one what things gonna change your life you're looking at one big deal you don't need one big deal you just need one revelation go me to first Peter 3 5 & 6 I'm not gonna hold you long I promise for in this matter in the former things that holy women were trusted in God also adored themselves being submissive to their own husbands you guys love that one look at verse 6 so Sarah obeyed Abraham calling him what now think about that just a minute she called him Lord where's the last time

your wife called you Lord but I never saw this until the Holy Spirit showed me this and then it says so Sarah obeyed Abraham calling him Lord whose daughter you are if you do good and not afraid of with any Tara and so I asked the Lord I said Lord I don't understand now what what is this about whose daughter you are he said Sarah is the only one in the Bible the only woman in the Bible who was restored to her youth at an old age she was 90 and the king wanted her be one of his concubines she must have looked pretty good pretty think about it a minute he said here look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you how many of you know that Sarah is your mama and Abraham is your daddy and whether you like it or not you're from the seed of Abraham and because of that you're in Christ and when Christ died and resurrected it made you quickened and made alive and now we're also the sons of Abraham and with the sons of David think about it a minute we are heirs of the blessings of Abraham you and me are heirs of the blessing of Abraham look at the person beside you say start having like God wants you to prosper he wants you to be in hell he said my beloved brother wish you both all things you prosper be in health even as your soul prospers tonight you and I are heirs of the blessing of Abraham look at the first side say you're blessed whether you receive it or not you're blessed thank you for joining us today at power in the word all of us here at Harvest Fellowship Church wants you to know that God is not mad with you but he loves you so very much and he has a plan for your life please feel free to contact us here at Harvest Fellowship Church at our website Harvest Fellowship Church net so until next week please remember there's power in the word you
