God Is Not Mad At You By: Dr. Pete Norris
Today on power in the word So if he says you're pure if he says you're true if he says you're up righteous if he says you're holy if he says You're delivered. It doesn't matter what anybody else says Because he remains faithful to who he is regardless. He's always a high priest standing before the father redeeming a nation That's why there's no separation the Jews and the Greeks or the Gentiles or any of us because we're all one now in Christ And we just entered into another state of life you understand He just pulled back the curtain so you could see clearly the father The father had been hidden for years. They only see an angry God Welcome to power in the word Many people have a difficult time Reconciling the angry God of the Old Testament with the loving God of the New Testament Well today dr. Narsh shows us that through Jesus Christ that God loves us and He'll never be mad at us again It's a powerful and encouraging word so you stay with us I want you to go to Hebrews chapter 6 verse 19 and 20 I tell you the Lord has really been showing me something about what Jesus really came here for He didn't come just to deliver you from your sins He didn't come so you could be free and one day spend eternity in heaven. You know I just I can't buy that I think God is so much bigger than that I think he'd come to have a relationship with us to be intimate with us to spend time with us And we need to throw all the religion out the window man You how we dress how we look how we act how we do the right thing and how we listen God's faithful when you're not God is faithful when you're not so today I want to talk a little bit about believing the father go to Hebrews chapter 6 verse 19, and we're going to start there This hope we have as an anchor of the soul both sure and steadfast Which enters the presence behind the veil how many of you know that Jesus went behind the veil and? Rent the veil from the top all to the bottom you all know the story with that But what did he really do he went and separated flesh from the spirit being and created us in a spirit being he? Recreated us and gave us life now. What does that really look like and what does that make Jesus didn't come and and just die for? us, but he came and he gave us life and he
Removed us from the separation from God and placed us in a place with God that was supernatural he come that we'd have life Now what does that life look like you know Jesus never told anybody in the four Gospels how to go to heaven The young man come and said how do I how do I inherit eternal life? And he said do this this and this but he never told anybody how to go to heaven But Lord knows we hear it every Sunday in church If you want to go to heaven do this and if you want to go to hell do this Well, I believe it's different than that And I believe it's deeper than that and I believe it's bigger and broader than that And I believe God's mercy and his grace in our life is so much more consuming the Bible said in John 14 and 6 I'm the way the truth and the life and the Bible says in Colossians chapter 3 verse 4 that we have his life Now listen to me a minute. What is life? Is it possible today that the opposite of what we don't get if? We miss the mark if you want to say is we just don't get life But do we really go to hell and do we really burn forever or do we just not get life And so Jesus turned to the guy and he said what the guy said, what must I do to inherit eternal life? He said I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly I come that you might have life more been that our words life There is the Greek word Zoe and it means God kind of life. So what did Jesus really come to give us heaven? Or did he really come to give us life and that we're going deeper into life and to life and what did what happened? He's talking about let life outside of death Because Jesus was made the Son of God because of the resurrection Romans 1 and 4 so with this is it possible that outside of God where there's no life is the separation from God or are we entering into a deeper dimension of life as We shed this body and become complete life And so we see here that he entered the presence behind the veil verse 20 Even Jesus where the forerunner has entered for us Even Jesus having become a high priest for how long? According to the order of who? Now you remember on Wednesday night that he changed Levitical priesthood
Levitical priesthood was the was the high priest for a thousand years And then all of a sudden it changes and we got a new order of a priesthood which Jesus Melchizedek Came from the from the tribe of who Judah. So once The priesthood changed the law had to change how many of you know, we're not under ten commandments anymore We're not under the hundred six hundred thirteen Levitical priests. We're under life now So it's not about us being separated from life. It's has having life because he's a high priest for how long? How many of you know he's standing before the father's a high priest for us forever And you know under the old covenant if the high priest was good, everybody in the nation was good. Well let me tell you, Jesus was the high priest because John said behold the lamb of God that's gonna take away the sin of the world. So it was not about the people, it was about the lamb. Right? So if the high priest was good, everybody was good. Is the high priest good? So then what did that make you? After the order of Melchizedek, see he came under the old covenant of Melchizedek as symbolic example of the new covenant. And he was letting us know that I'm coming and I'm gonna redeem everybody and I'm gonna separate everybody and I'm gonna reveal myself to everybody and I'm gonna give you life. See, here's the kicker. Every one of you have that life. Because if you lost your life in the first Adam, you got your life back in the last Adam or the first Adam was bigger than the last Adam. But the Bible says the latter covenant
is gonna be greater than the former covenant so what happened in the past was overridden in the future and now we're everybody's in life. Now as we open that life up and begin to elevate that life and become that life and move into that life and find that dimension, we understand that it was a parallel of the seed of David. How many of you know the royalty and the throne hood and the kingship come from the seed of David? But the seed of Abraham, we got the promises and the land. And so I said, Lord, you gotta explain something to me. How many of you know where Galgotha got its name from? Go do some Jewish study. I called my rabbi friend and here's what he told me. Listen to this, this is powerful revelation. How many of you know when David took the head off the head of Goliath? He took it outside of Jerusalem and he set it up on a hill. What was that hill? Galgotha. So the throne of David that ended the old covenant, that ended the revelation, that's the same thing that happened to John the Baptist. You know, that was the end of the old covenant. What happened to John the Baptist? They beheaded him. What happened to Goliath? He beheaded him. Why?
And he put him up on the hill. That's the same mountain that Jesus was crucified on. He did a great parallel that not only did Jesus conquer and become king, priest, and prophet, he also redeemed from the seed of David. Because Mary and Joseph were cousins, remember? They were both from royalty. Not financially, but revelatory. Are you with me? Because he had a prophetic purpose for being here. So what am I saying to you now? I want you to go with me somewhere. How many of you know that Abraham had to hold on to the promises of God until the death, burial, and the resurrection? But the Bible said in Galatians chapter one that the gospel, the good news, was preached to Abraham beforehand. When did he get it? When he went to sacrifice his son on the same mount. How many of you know that that took place on the same mount? Come on, guys. It's all a parallel of revelation of what Jesus is trying to say. He wants you to believe the Father. Jesus has got you. The Father's got you. You can't get to hell from here. Because of his goodness is his mercy.
Even when you're bad, he's good. And you don't get great on your goodness, you get great on his goodness. Now, go with me somewhere. Let's go to 2 Timothy chapter two. If we are faithless and we do not believe and are untrue to him, he remains true, faithful to his word and his righteous character, for he cannot deny himself. Watch this. The word deny in the actual Greek means by way of disowning oneself. Even if you're not faithful, he remains faithful. Because it's not about what God can't lie to you, it's about he can't lie to himself. Glory. So if he says you're pure, if he says you're true, if he says you're uprighteous, if he says you're holy, if he says you're delivered, it doesn't matter what anybody else says. Because he remains faithful to who he is regardless. He's always a high priest standing before the Father, redeeming a nation. That's why there's no separation in the Jews and the Greeks or the Gentiles or any of us because we're all one now in Christ and we just entered into another state of life. You understand, he just pulled back the curtain so you could see clearly the Father. The Father had been hidden for years,
they only see an angry God. But he pulled back the veil of the flesh and said, now I want you to see clearly who I am. Because the Bible said in John chapter one, verse 18, the only reason Jesus came to earth was to reveal the Father. My God, ain't it amazing that he just come to reveal the goodness of the Lord. God did a finished work and you're good. Oh, pastor, we shouldn't say we're good. That's four gospels in a New Testament. He said, I've made you perfect and complete with one offering. You're not only good, you're perfect. Go to Hebrews chapter 10, verse 14. You want to go out there and tell you what it says? He says that he remained perfect with one offering. He has forever perfected those that are being sanctified. With one offering, he has forever perfected us. How many of you know that one time going to the cross and resurrecting out of death, you got that life? Amen. Life, do you understand what that means, guys? When John said, I'm the way, the truth, and the life, Colossians chapter three, verse four. 4 says that we have his life. Do you really know what that means? I don't believe that going means going to heaven and eating grapes and sitting by the brook I believe that man is entering into a dimension of becoming just like God and Walking in a life that's the fullness of God and the revelation of God and the enemy knows that you got power and you got Authority, but if you'll sit back and not talk about it and not tell who you are You're walking defeat and discouragement. It's a poor old trick. I just want to get out of here, man
It's a long dark dusty road. He come to wash us from that dustiness and And the Bible said that our dust is gonna be the food of Satan he's gonna eat it Isaiah 65 verse 25 We got to understand that the dust of man is what Lucifer eats 1st Corinthians 15 49 Are you with me? The Bible said he's crawling on his belly in Genesis chapter 3 He's crawling on his belly for the rest of his life because he's cursed But somehow in Job he got legs and somehow in the book of Revelation. He become a great dragon. You gave him that power He don't have that power. He's defeated So he can keep you excited about futurism then he ain't coming back to be with you in naturalism and the right now ism Turn to somebody say he's with me right now Now I want you to see something here I want you go to Philippians chapter 1 verse 6 in the Amplified because this is good and I am convinced and sure of this very thing that he who begun a good work in you Now he's making this personal see this he began a good work in who? Will continue unto the day of Jesus Christ right up to the time of his return Developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you guys Do you understand that what he started in you? He's gonna bring it to pass. It's not gonna be about your goodness It's gonna be about what he did on the cross and his goodness It's about his goodness. When can we ever get it through our head? It's not about our performance It's about his Righteousness and holiness who made him righteous him who knew no sin became sin that you and I might become the righteous of God Second Corinthians 521 because of his sin you became righteous turn to somebody I'm righteous Nobody can separate you from righteous. Let me tell you something seeing can't separate you from righteousness You don't sin because you're a sinner you sin because you have a sin nature and if you have a divine nature You can't have a sin nature. So you've been redeemed from sin. You're not a sinner Just trying to get by you're the righteousness of God living in righteousness Because he placed you in righteousness. It's a state of being not a space of becoming Turn to someone say I'm righteous I'm some kind of something Not because of who I am but because I who I am in him. I mean it turns to myself some kind of something See the church all over America today is telling you how bad you are
And you leave and you feel worse than you do when you came in Because Preachers don't get much glory if people don't flock the orders That's their payday feeds the egos Jesus never had an auto call He never had an auto call he wasn't into his ego He said if you believe in me ain't got to do it ain't nothing left you live What he told a woman at the way remember He said honey if you believe in me and she became a bandage that day shacked up with a dude Isn't that amazing she went off preaching guys. He didn't tell her to go home and leave that dude Remembered a woman called in adultery and they brought her to Jesus and he said honey. I added to honey She said Lord, I don't have any condemners. He said I don't condemn you either go and sin no more See if we read that text will understand what he was saying is you got a new nature now You won't sin you won't do this again because your sinful nature made you do it. Why are we believing the father? You've never had a father relationship until now, here's the great thing under the old covenant looks like you saw a different God God's committed to finishing what he started He loves you. He wants you to enter into that place of life It's like peeling an onion and you're going deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper into that life And this world's growing dimmer and dimmer and dimmer and dimmer and dimmer and dimmer How many of you know God will meet every one of your needs? According to his riches in Christ Jesus He'll meet every one of your needs according to his riches in Christ He'll meet every one of your needs. How many of you know the word need there is the word declare He's only going to meet what you speak Colossians chapter 2 verse 19 in the Amplified Turn to me say speak it and Not holding fast to the head from whom the entire body supplied and knit together by means of its joints and ligaments grows with growth That is from God. Who's the head? How many of you know that John pray John was praying in John 17 that
We would become one Jesus was praying that we would become one as him and the father were one How many of you know you're there? Really how many of you know you're there? How many of you know, there's no difference in you and the father I want you to get a hold of this. How many of you know, there's no difference in you and the father See because we have a struggle believing Jesus was touched with the same thing you were touched with. Now I'm gonna shake you, you ready to be shook? How many of you think Jesus lusted? If he didn't lust, then he's not dealt with the thing I've dealt with. Because he's been touched with every infirmity that I was touched with. But here was the difference, he didn't have a sinful nature because of how he was born. Oh, I'm getting my head in there now. Because if he don't, if he's been touched with every infirmity that I was touched with, then he's had to deal with that. But that's hard for church to believe now. Because we see sin as an act. Okay, let's go there. Let's take Jesus. Let's take Jesus. See, sin's not an act. Sin is the nature. And Jesus come to remove the sin nature. And if the sin nature is removed, that's what causes the act. And you judge the act, but you don't sin the nature. See, we're trying to fix people with self-help books. And self-help books don't fix people because they've got to change their nature. That's why Jesus talks so much about the sin nature. And then he talked about that you and I would have a new nature, a divine nature, a godly nature. And then all the promises would flow to the nature. See, when you become born again, it's the attraction that receives all the things that God's promised that's in the sonship, and in the relationship, and in the testament of the last will. You receive them because you have the nature to get them now. Are you with me? So now the life has been changed. So here's Jesus. Now he went into the temple, and he got tore up, and he popped out a whip, and started popping, turning some tables over, looked like he was a man. If I'd done that, you'd have said, pastor's in the flesh. Would you not? So did Jesus, was he in the flesh? Or was it called, here's what Pentecostal call it, holy indignation. What was it? What would you think it was? What would you think it was? What would you think if I was in a board meeting with all my board members, and I said, one of y'all's a devil. How would you take that? That's what exactly what he did. Did he not do that? Did Jesus not say exactly, did he not? All you Bible scholars, did he not say that? So it looks like he was perturbed, right? Think about it a minute. I've always thought for years, I said, you know, God don't see sin like we do. He doesn't even see your sin, because Colossians 3 and 3 says, if you be
dead, according to Romans 6 and 2, you died when you got born again. For as far as this world is concerned, you have died, and your new real life is hidden with Christ in God. So when God looks down, he doesn't see your sin, he sees you in Christ. And you say, well pastor, explain, you have died. Okay, go to Romans 6 and 2. Certainly not. How can we who died to sin live any longer in it? How many of you know that word there is not a verb, it is a noun. So a noun is a person, place, or thing. He's not talking about an act, God. He's talking about a sin nature here in Romans 6 and 2. Only verse 15 in chapter 6 is the only time sin is a verb. The rest of the time it's a noun. The rest of the time he's talking about, certainly not. How can we who died to that sin nature live any longer in it? Are you with me? It's not the sin that's wrong, guys, it's the nature that you do it with. And once Jesus is born, created you, and recreated you, and you become a new creature, old things passed away, you're not a sinner anymore. You got to get a different mindset. Listen, that's why we say, well I'm going through a financial situation, I'm going through a health situation, I'm going through this, I'm bound to have done something wrong. It's all given because of the righteousness of him, not because you were right and wrong, it's given because he's right. Listen, just because I do, look at the prodigal son. The prodigal son went out and spent all that he had. His daddy was looking through the window looking for him to come home. And when he come home, the daddy didn't even talk about what he had done wrong. He said he was dead and now he's returned, he's alive. And what did he do? He killed a fatty cat and threw a party. What did he do? He put a robe on him, he put a ring on his finger, sandals on his feet. Why? He wanted to give him back his sonship. You don't lose your sonship with the father, you lose fellowship with the father when you don't spend time with him. But you don't lose sonship. That's what he's waiting for, for you to have fellowship, which is Cornelius, which means communion and intimacy. He wants you to be consumed by him. He wants your every breath to be his breath. He wants every part of you to be consumed by him. He wants you to be the only thing that beats through your mind in the run of a day. After 25 years of Paul seeing all these miracles, Paul said, I've progressively determined I just want to know him. How many of you really want to know him? See, because until you know him, you're never going to find you, because you're in him before the foundation of the world. My Lord, my Lord, my Lord, my Lord. So I don't pray or talk to God because I have to. I get to. Some of you, when you miss the mark, you don't spend any time with him. Under the old covenant, God grew angry with him. You can see that, don't you? He grew angry. But in the new covenant, he can never be angry with you again. Romans 5 and 9. Much more than having been what? Which means what? You've been declared righteous. How? By your confession? By you confessing that you've done
something wrong? No. How'd you get right? What'd you have to do with it? Guys, are you with me in this picture? What I'm trying to see is this grace message of Jesus and the person of Jesus done a finished work and all you have to do is just believe it. Just grab hold of that and you got life and life more abundantly. I'm not gonna go to heaven and just eat grace. I'm gonna become what I'm trying to get to. I'm not trying to get to a place. I'm becoming life. I am life. I can give life. I can release life. I can speak life. You have the same creative power that he had. That's why the Bible said in the book of Genesis that he made you a living spirit. The actual Hebrew word there is the speaking spirit. Talk to the world. Create the world you want. Oh pastor, things just happen. No, they don't. Nothing just happens. Well, how does bad things happen to good people? Well, let me ask you this. How does a black cow eat green grass? Why don't they ever give chocolate milk? Why they give white milk? You can't explain that. How can a young man pick up a baseball for the first time? This is a true story. A young man I know just this past week picked up a baseball. First time never picked up in his life. Never played. It could throw 90 miles an hour. Never played before in his life. He throws 90. Never played. Never picked it up. Never played a little league. Never played anything. He was a golfer. Seriously, how does that happen? God's got a plan. God's got a plan for you. He's got a plan for you. He's got a plan for you and he's got the plans are good and they're not even. They got to expect it in. But see, we don't want to enter into that deep life because that life opens up the avenue for your purpose and everybody's been given a purpose because you were in him before the foundation of the world. He called you out. Let me tell you, you weren't sent here by accident. You were divine appointment on the way. You were, listen, he was talking about you way before you got here because you were somewhere in the past and you look real good and he said I'm gonna bring him into the future. So somebody spoke you here. Your mom and daddy was talking you to get here and they didn't even know what they were talking about. It had a parallel. Jesus came through a 15 year old little girl, remember? So did I. So I was somewhere in the future, in the past, being called to
the future. So life doesn't end or we don't cease to exist. We become more life and more life and more life and more life and more all around you is life. People never lose life. They become life. The new covenant is impossible for God to be angry with you guys. He can't be angry with you. He's absolutely crazy about you. Let's go to Isaiah 54 9 and 10. This is after 53. What happened in 53? He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquity. Chastise peace upon him with his stripes. You were what? Look at this. For this is like the waters of Noah to me. For as I've sworn that the waters of Noah will no longer cover the earth. How many of you know the waters of Noah will no longer cover the earth? See I've heard people say the waters not gonna cover the earth. That's not what he says. He said the waters of Noah won't ever cover the earth again. See he's talking this way after Noah's situation guys. Why? Because he knew Noah would never end. Gosh. You got to read this book. How many of you know Noah doesn't end? He started out. Noah, remember he got drunk when he got out of the ark? Remember how many of you know he got drunk? And I ain't gonna go into the whole story but you know he's got into tent and got messed up. And then he cursed a generation called the Canaanites. But how many of you know Canaanites actually came from Cain? Canaanites were who? The people that were a lot of times against God. Isn't that amazing that Cain was a transition parallel to the Canaanites which is exactly what happened and who got cursed in the deal with Ham and Shem and Japheth after the flood took place. That God started out with Ham, Shem, and Japheth and their three wives and Noah and his wife which was eight. He started the whole world out with a new beginning. The first thing Noah did got drunk. But the Bible said Noah was righteous. How was he righteous if he got drunk? You're righteous ain't based on you getting drunk. You're righteous based on Christ. But under the old covenant it looks like you saw a different God. But in a new covenant what's he say? We no longer cover the earth so I've sworn that I will not be angry with you nor rebuke Luke two, verse 10. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed.
See, the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall my covenant of peace be removed. How many of you know he cut a covenant with him in the middle of the Father? Jesus and God cut the covenant, not you and God. He didn't cut a covenant with you. He cut a covenant with the Father, and you're a recipient of the covenant. You're a beneficiary of the covenant. You had nothing to do with the covenant. When he cut a covenant with Abraham, he put Abraham to sleep. And a smoking torch and a burning flame walked through there, which was Jesus and the Father, which was the covenant. So he split the animals and separated them side to side, and the Father and the Son walked through and cut a covenant with Abraham. He was fast asleep. How many of you know you were asleep when God cut a covenant? But he birthed you, and that covenant brought you to life. Come on, somebody, and get in this building, because the covenant was cut with the Father and the Son. It has nothing to do with you. In other words, God said, I'm gonna cut a covenant. This time, that man can't mess up. It ain't gonna be based on man's faithfulness. It's only gonna be based on me and the Father.
For the covenant not to work, then the separation's got to come. In other words, God has got to be obliterated for the covenant not to work. And if the word don't work, the Bible said he's not, he said he can't lie, even though Numbers 19.23 says that, that God's not a man, he can't lie. But here's another thing, he can't deny himself. What's that? Deny his own covenant and who he is and his purpose and his reality and his word, because he is his word. So he can't deny his word. His word's always got to come to pass in your life. It don't have a choice. If God don't do it, he's a liar. And he's not a man, he can't lie. So we've corrected all that was biblically speaking. So he cut a covenant of peace be removed, shall nor shall my covenant of peace be removed, say the Lord, for who has mercy on you? In other words, he said, I can't be angry with you, I can't be uptight with you, I'm not gonna rebuke you. Why? Because I cut a covenant of peace with you. Me and you got peace. Guys, do you get that? You and him got peace. You and him got peace. Mountains are gonna depart
and the hills are gonna be removed before I will stop doing that. And then you're sitting around concerned about whether he's gonna look at you when you get older or not. Because you know, you're out of your producing years to produce money. The best thing ever happened to you when you lose it and realize who your source is, he's your source, not you. He'll do what you can't do and he'll do it better than you've ever done it. He'll look after you when you don't know what you need to do. Turn to somebody and say, God'll do it. Look what he done for you already. You were lost and now you're found. You were a heathen one day and you got up in glory. How about that? That's a 30 second encounter. Changed your life forever. And if you get hold of the rest of the benefits and the revelation he's trying to pour on you, he'll pour them on you. He'll say, I'll pour out the windows of heaven that you can't take. I'll pour out more blessings. You just tell him to stop giving them. Because second covenant, last covenant had all the things the first covenant did
but had something better. What's better? It said those under the old covenant could not be made perfect until we come. Glory be to God. What a covenant. What a covenant. You got a covenant. You can't lose this covenant guys. You're some kind of something. Start acting like who you are. Thank you for joining us today at Power in the Word.
