Yo Soy Una Voz || Victory Church

Well, good morning, Victory. Come on, are you excited to be at the Lord's house? Come on, someone say it. Well, I'm delighted to be here with you. My wife and I, man, we had the incredible privilege this past week to organize a retreat for young couples who are in the ministry. I was talking about the care of the soul, vision and values. We had couples who came from all over the country. It was a phenomenal time in the ministry. And God became present. But I have to be honest, even in the midst of those powerful moments, there was a kind of constant weight in the back of my mind. I won't say in my spirit, but in the back of my mind. Because we were teaching all these sessions, and I knew I had to preach this weekend, so I had to be very attentive, right? So even though we were laughing, talking, surrendering and sharing with these couples, I was constantly looking at the clock. I was controlling the volume of my voice, because I wanted to protect it and preserve it. Why? Because that spiritual retreat was really incredible. But I had a very important assignment here in this house, and I didn't want to lose my own voice under any concept. Because if you neglect the health and care of your voice, how many of you know you're going to lose it, right? And when you lose your voice, this is what happens. So the message you were called to deliver doesn't reach, and people could lose what God had for them. And I would dare to say this,

that you really never know how much your voice matters until you lose it. Come on, this is preached alone. And I think all of you already imagine where I'm going with this message this morning, because in reality, I'm not just talking about my voice. I'm talking about your voice. I'm talking about our voice. Collectively, as the body of Christ, I'm here to tell you today that your voice matters. Let me say it again, on this side. Your voice matters. And the truth is this. In each one of us, there is power in the things we say. There is power in the things we use our voice to amplify. And our voices are going to be one of two things. It's going to guide people to life. Or it's going to take people away from life. And I want us to really pay attention today, because that's what we're going to talk about when we go into the text. I'm really excited. For those of you who are new to Victory, we've been in this course that changes paradigms while we immerse ourselves, we go in, we dive in. I don't know, but here we are. Whatever we've done, we've done it. Oh, man. So, at the beginning of the year, we immerse ourselves. There you go.

Come on, Holy Spirit. We immerse ourselves in the book of John, and we're going to spend the whole year in this book. During the last three weeks, we've been in what many theologians call the prologue of the book of John. And these first 18 verses really establish a solid foundation about who Jesus is. And so today, as we leave the prologue to the narrative of the book of John, we're going to discover what we're called to do with those revelations and those realities. Okay? So, again, just a quick summary. In 2026, we have two main objectives, since we're in the book of John. As Pastor Johnson has shared, in the first place, the first objective is that we understand that the desire of our heart is that we grow in love for Jesus. This year, that's what's going to happen as we go through the book of John. And secondly, I love the language that Pastor Johnson has been using. We believe that as we grow in love for Jesus, we're also going to grow in our desire for this broken world. Let it know it. So our desire this year

is to be the church that snatches souls to hell. Come on, let's snatch souls to hell and let's fill the sky. It's not just a beautiful slogan. Come on, this is a cry of war for this moment. Because the reality is that there's no way to spend a whole year getting closer to Jesus and not having the desire to share it with the world that surrounds you, right? And that's our desire for this house. When you light yourself on fire, you can't avoid radiating light. So let's look at the prologue quickly. I have three quick truths. I just want to make a summary for those who are new. Here are the three main points. I'll call them points of the prologue that we have extracted from the text so far. Y la pregunta que todos estaban haciendo, Marla, es, ¿cómo tomo este concepto de gracia y verdad y cómo lo comparto con mis seres queridos? ¿Cómo comparto eso con mis compañeros de trabajo, con las personas que están en mi vida? Y creo que es una excelente pregunta para hacer, porque aquí está el asunto. Podemos sentarnos en estos salones y recibir toda la verdad posible, pero ¿cuántos saben que la verdad sin acción es solo información? Y escúchame, la información nunca ha liberado a nadie. Nosotros necesitamos transformarnos por el Espíritu de Dios. Me encanta esta cita del pastor fundador, Dennis Rouse, en su libro, Título 10. Él dijo que los creyentes van a la iglesia para escuchar la palabra de Dios, pero los discípulos van a aprender a cumplir la palabra de Dios. Esa es la palabra exacta. Es celestial. Es un lenguaje sobrenatural. Está hablando sobre el principio y sobre que Jesús es preexistente. Quiero decir, esto es contenido teológico de alto nivel. Pero quiero que veas lo que sucede en el siguiente versículo, el versículo 6. En medio de este pensamiento tan elevado, la Biblia dice, Y hubo un hombre enviado por Dios, cuyo nombre era Juan, y vino como testigo para dar testimonio de la luz, para que por medio de él, todos creyeran. Él mismo no era realmente la luz, sino que simplemente vino como testigo de la luz. Ahora, aquí es donde surge mi pregunta, ¿de acuerdo? Quiero hacer una pausa aquí. Mantén esto en la pantalla, porque lo que muchos teólogos han comentado colectivamente es este pensamiento. Muchos teólogos consideran que Juan 1, versículos del 1 al 18, el prólogo, es en realidad uno de los pasajes teológicos más densos y profundos de toda la Biblia. Porque en este pasaje, escuchamos algunas ideas teológicas realmente, realmente asombrosas, como la supremacía y la preexistencia divina de Cristo, la unión hipostática, ¿verdad? La encarnación de Cristo. Vemos a la Trinidad obrando aquí en el prólogo de Juan. De hecho, de una manera un poco incómoda, lo colocan ahí. Pero quiero que sepas que no hay nada que sea por casualidad o coincidencia

en la palabra de Dios. Si está ahí, es intencional. Y Juan está colocado justo aquí, en medio de esta instrucción y visión celestial de alto nivel. ¿Por qué? Porque Juan el evangelista es usado como el puente. Juan, no el bautista, sino el testigo, es la bisagra humana esencial entre el lenguaje del cielo y el dilema del pecado aquí en la tierra. ¿Están de acuerdo? Dios no solo envió una palabra, Dios envió a un testigo para señalar a la gente hacia la palabra. ¿Y cuántos de ustedes saben que el Dios al que servimos es un Dios de orden sistemático? En el libro de Malakías dice que Él es el Señor Dios Todopoderoso y que no cambia nunca. Así que creo hoy que si Dios envió un testigo, entonces todavía está enviando testigos hoy. Vamos, alguien. Mira a tu vecino y dile, bueno, ¿dónde están? El otro vecino. Look back and say, here I am, my love. Come on, someone. Right? Now that we know who Jesus is, we have the responsibility to make His name known on earth, to make a big deal about Jesus. But look at me. But if we are going to use our voice effectively, then I think it would be convenient for us to follow the model that John has left us.

And that is what we are going to do today. So the million dollar question is this. How do I use my voice as a witness? And the first step is this. You have to detoxify your voice. You have to detoxify. Has anyone ever detoxified before? Raise your hand. Wave to me with your hand. Oh, Jesus. I'm going to tell you, there are so many different types of detoxification programs. Let's go. We have Whole30. Some of you do dry January. Some of you are doing 75 Hard. Does anyone know 75 Hard? Some of you are fighting right now. But regardless of the program, you can call it whatever you want. A detoxification is a detoxification. I'm going to define it this way. A detoxification is eliminating anything that has been clogging your system so that you can restart and perform at the highest level. And in the context of today's conversation, it's not different, right? It's the same idea, but with a different application. Someone says, my voice needs a detoxification. This is what I'm telling you today, church. Before we talk about what your voice should be used for, first we have to talk about what your voice needs to be freed from. Now, let's go to the text. Verse 19.

This was the testimony of John when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. Talking about John, the witness. And I love this. He did not stop confessing, but openly confessed, I am not the Messiah. They asked him, well, then who are you? Are you Elijah? He said, I am not. Who are you? Are you Elijah? He said, I am not. Well, are you the prophet? And he said, no. Finally they said, well, who are you? Give us an answer to lead us to those who sent us. What do you have to say about yourself? Now, I don't want you to miss this because I want you to see what John says at this moment. Look at this. Before John said anything about who he was, he first clarified who he was not. Are you the Messiah? No. Are you Elijah? No. Are you the prophet? No. Three times. No. Before he said who he was, he clarified and made it very clear who he was not. And I want to stop here for a moment because I sincerely think it is a good time to make a little personal inventory.

Because the vast majority of us do not realize this at all. Like the food we eat. And we realize that we need to detoxify. Because of the additives and all the garbage we consume, sometimes we do not realize that our voice is also full of additives. And we call it normal. This is what we do. We move, we comment, we discuss, we vent, we fight, we give our opinion. And we have been doing it for so long that it seems like it is normal. It is simply what we do. But today I want to ask you very seriously. Why exactly are you using your voice? Because there is something important that you may have never considered. What you like on social media is precisely what you are giving your voice to. Don't you think so? It's not just what you publish. It's not just what you see. Say it out loud. It's the things you like, the things you share, the things you publish. Those are the things you amplify. And look at what Jesus says in Matthew chapter 12. He said the following. I assure you, yes, everyone will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. Every word. And in our context, every publication, every story. I am stepping on some rocks, but it's okay. Everything will be fine. Every time we publish again, everything we share, we don't realize it, but we are putting something on the ground.

You see, the problem with the church is not that we don't have a voice. The problem is that we spend our voice in the wrong conversations. Some of us have built entire personalities centered on our opinions and the things we like, the things we enjoy. And listen to me. Some things are fine, but many times the strongest voices in the church are the most silent when it comes to Christ. But let that not be said of us. Let it be said of us. Let it be said of this house that every time we open our mouth to declare something on earth, that will lead men and women back to a Savior who is called Jesus. Let it be true of us that we understand the weight of the voice that God has given us. You know, I remember years ago, years ago, when I was on the road making hip hop music full time. My wife and I traveled a lot, almost every weekend for about 12 years. And I remember that in that season of my life, all kinds of crazy things happened to me. Opportunities to support programs, to come and communicate, to represent different organizations and platforms, blah, blah, blah. But friends, I remember when I entered the ministerial ministry and there was simply a change. Because I felt that the Lord was telling me, hey, from now on you can't say yes to every invitation. And I have tried to live that in my own life. Why? Because this is what I have come to discover. And someone needs to hear this. There is no such thing as an innocent yes. Every yes comes with a cost. So what I'm saying is this. If I say yes to an invitation, I'm actually saying no to an assignment. And in this stage of my life, I don't have time for invitations. I want to live on purpose, on a mission, on an assignment. The main reason I want my voice to be known is because of Jesus. And listen to me carefully. When you make that decision, that entails a cost. Because those opportunities are gone. Some of them also paid very well. But what is it that really matters in this life? I refuse to prostitute my voice for something that is less than the glory of God.

What are you talking about? No, no, no. I moved away. And we have to move away from the things that are simply stealing us. Why? Because listen to me when I tell you this. You cannot transmit the frequency of heaven through a voice that is silenced by the noise of this world. You have to choose. You have to decide. And the fact that you can say something, and the fact that you can use your voice, does not always mean that you have to do it. Paul said that under grace, all things are permitted, but not all things are beneficial, right? So even when everyone else is doing and saying everything, and everyone has an opinion, I'm going to be honest with you. Sometimes the wisest thing that you and I can do is just to remain silent. Come on, look at your neighbor for a moment and say, just as my grandmother always said, boy, go somewhere right now and sit down. Not just sit down, but really sit down. If I go and grab that rod, you have no idea of that. We don't do that anymore. Yes, definitely, we have to be very aware of why we are using our voice. Because look at what it says here. Proverbs chapter 17, verse 28. Look at what the Bible says. It says that even a fool is considered wise if he simply remains silent. And even a fool is considered prudent if he simply contains his tongue. Isn't that incredible, right? And the reality is that we are living in the loudest moment in history. Everyone has an Instagram account. Everyone has a TikTok account. Everyone has a microphone.

Everyone has a podcast. Everyone has a YouTube channel. Everyone has a megaphone and they are screaming as loud as they can. But we, as a church, cannot spend the capital of the kingdom on temporary indignation. We cannot. And here is the reason. Because you carry a truth of weight. You possess the key to free the world. But if you waste your voice on absolutely everything, eventually your voice will lose all its meaning. So before you ask, how can I evangelize? First you need to ask yourself, where have I wasted my voice? Let's start there. Because a scattered voice cannot carry a sacred message. And we know this because look at what Paul said in Ephesians 4, verse 29. He says, but only the one that is good to build others according to their needs so that it benefits those who listen. And that's how a detoxified voice sounds. It's not always in silence, but when it speaks, it does it on purpose and is guided by a mission. Are you with me this morning? How are we going to use our voice to be witnesses? Well, we detoxify our voice. And then, secondly, we have to define the voice. We have to define the voice. Now, verse 23 makes it emphatically clear. Let's read it. John says this, that John the witness answered with the words of Isaiah, the prophet.

He said, I am the voice that cries out in the desert. Straighten the way of the Lord. Now, look at this. John did not promote a brand. He did not promote his platform. He never tried to promote his own personality. He used to say clearly, no, I am just a voice. So when I say that you define your voice, I'm not just referring to your style of communication. I'm not talking about your approach to speaking. I'm talking about the substance from which you speak. It's not how you speak, but what you speak predominantly. What I'm asking is this. When people look at you and see you, what do they associate you with? Because when they press John and ask him, who are you? Who are you? Are you this? Are you that? Well, who are you, brother? John does not give them a curriculum. John does not mention the number of followers he has. By the way, keep in mind that the reason why the Pharisees were pressuring him in the first place is because he had a lot of followers. He was baptizing and calling people to repentance. And he could easily have said, I am that guy. What are you talking about? I am him. No, in fact, the answer John gave was the following. I am simply a voice that cries out in the desert. Move aside because the King of Glory is coming.

Come on, listen to me. Look at this. John always defined himself by his designation. Look, in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and in the synoptic Gospels, that's how they are called, John is known as John the Baptist. But the author, John, does not use that language. No, he is never called that. He is simply John, the witness. We said that John's book would be different. Look, this way of speaking, again, is not a coincidence. It is intentional. Why? Because for John, the author of this Gospel, why would he call this man John the Baptist then? What he is basically doing is limiting him to a secondary role and a ritual. Defining him only by the actions he performed, instead of defining him by who he really was and the divine purpose for which he was called. The author of the Gospel discards this on purpose. The entire identity of John was based on two pillars. Who was not him and who is Jesus. It was much less about John and much more about Jesus. And he understood very well what his mission was. Come on, Lord, raise up a generation of people who understand the mission. Let us understand that you have called us to define our voice. To articulate, understand and share who we are and why we were put on earth. Because, listen to me, the sanctified speech always diminishes the one who speaks, while it magnifies the one we speak of. Lord, would you sanctify our voices?

Because the Lord knows, we know that we live in a society that celebrates self-promotion. We celebrate it, right? We celebrate self-promotion. We celebrate it. But what this world does not need is more self-promotion. We need the promotion of Jesus. Come on, we need some people to open their mouths and shout it from the rooftops. Step aside, because the King of Heaven is passing by. Therefore, I ask you once again, if people know more about your opinions than about your Savior. Something is not right. Something is profoundly failing. So, does your life point to Jesus or to yourself? And if you need help to answer that question, it is easy. Just go and look at the last ten things you have posted on social media. That will say a lot. Go back to the last ten moments of influence that you shared with someone else, where maybe you had the opportunity to speak life. Did you do it? That's the question. Did you do it? Because I'm going to tell you, as a son, as a daughter, we are not defined by our achievements. We should be defined by our assignments. On earth, to make known the voice of Jesus, your assignment is to be a voice. Not the verdict, not the judge, not the one who closes, but a voice. And when that really roots in our soul, when we detoxify all the garbage, and we remain firm about who God has called us to be, I wish I could tell you that suddenly this courage would appear, which would simply arise, and now you would be ready to preach to thousands.

But it doesn't work exactly like that, does it? There is a process, right? Let's go to the next point. Here it is. You have to detoxify your voice. You have to define your voice. And thirdly, then you have to develop your voice. Develop your voice. Let's continue with the text. Verse 26 says the following. John answers by saying, I baptize with water, but among you there is one whom you do not know. He is the one who comes after me. You? He has the straps of his sandals that I am not even worthy to untie. Now, this is where it gets real. Because some of you are here and following me. Like, yes, you are right. I have a voice. I should use my voice. God has done so much. The world has to know. I have to do these things. But brother, I'm not ready yet. I don't know what to say. I don't know how to say it, right? I don't know where to start to tell someone about Jesus. I don't know. And there are many people who feel that way. That's why this next passage is an idea that flies to your head when you consider it. I want to read this to you right here. Because in verse 31, look at what John the Baptist says, the witness. He says, I myself did not know him, but the reason why I came baptizing with water was so that he would be revealed to Israel.

Think about this. St. John the Baptist, the one that God Himself sent specifically to prepare the way. He did not have a total clarity about who this Jesus was. And yet, he was faithful to the great task that God Himself entrusted to him. I have walked with the Lord for about 23 years. And I don't know if I had ever realized that until last week. Studying this word, what John is saying is this. Listen, he is saying that he does not have all the answers. And that there are mysteries that he has not yet understood. However, if God called me to submerge these people in the Jordan River, if He called me to call people to repentance, then I don't have to know the plan from A to Z. All I know is what God told me to do. And by being obedient to that, He will develop my voice. And He will use me to do the things that I need to do. God does not need a perfect voice. He needs an obedient one. And today I come to tell you that, my friend, to share your faith, it is not necessary to have a degree in theology. You don't need it. You may never go to the seminary, right? You don't always have to have all the answers. In fact, let me make it very, very easy. You will never have all the answers. I don't have all the answers. People come to the seminary all the time asking me these difficult questions. Sometimes I say, I don't know. At the beginning of my faith, I always worked hard and tried to create new things. I don't know. Do you have the same Bible that I have? No. There are many times that, you know, they ask me the question and I think, man, that is a very good question. I don't know.

But I'm going to take this week to study that, and I'm going to pray about it, and next week we'll talk again, and we'll have a conversation. Because we're really not going to understand that. Because we're really not going to understand that. In fact, one of my favorite verses in the Bible, Deuteronomy 29.29, says this. The secret things belong to the Lord, our God. Do you feel the Holy Spirit in that? The secret things belong to the Lord, our God. But the revealed things belong to us. and our children, forever. So that we may follow all the words of His law. What is the Bible telling us? That there are things that will remain a mystery and that we will never understand until we are in the presence of the Lord for all eternity. But what He has revealed, we must cling to it. What He has revealed, we follow and obey, and we are faithful, and we keep our hands on the plow, right? Because this is what I'm telling you. Listen, a witness. God has called you to use your voice to be a witness. Look at me. A witness. They don't discuss theories. I have never seen a witness enter the courtroom with a theory. Witnesses enter the courtroom, sit back there in the small seat, and give testimony of what they have seen, of what they have heard, and of what they have experienced. And can I tell you something? I may not have all the answers,

and I may not be able to debate intellectually with the atheists. Did you know that some atheists know the Bible better than you? Do you realize that? So I don't have time to discuss intellectually. I barely finished high school, if I'm honest with you. So I'm not going to discuss with you because you don't have any real desire to know the God of the Bible. So no, I'm not going to go into that. However, what I can tell you is that I used to be lost, but now I have been found. I used to be an addict on the path to death, but now I have been resurrected to a new life. I come from a history of alcoholism, bankruptcy, and death. But by the grace of God, I am free from that. That's what I know. And this is what I'm going to testify. Stop playing. You know what? You can't discuss that because you weren't there in the cell before a possible sentence of 10 years in prison. This is because you weren't there when I woke up. I was passed out on the floor of a crack smoker 27 years ago when I was a teenager, because you don't know my life. You don't know everything that God has done in my life. That's why when I open my mouth to declare the goodness of God, even if I don't have all the answers, I know what God has done in my life. And you are fully aware of what God has done in yours.

So open your mouth right now and say with a lot of faith to someone who is really our God. Hallelujah. You have to say it to someone today without fail. He has been much better with you than you have been with yourself in every moment of your life. It will be better if you talk to these people. He has been good. He is good. He is faithful. Now look at me. Now let me turn the coin and say this. Now, there are times when we feel doubt and our voices get a little shaky, okay? Let's talk about that. And I love the word of God because the Bible shows us the whole spectrum of human experience. Because the same man, John, the witness, looks at what happens to him a few years later in his life. He is arrested. They put him in jail. And in a moment of doubt, he sends a message to Jesus. And this is what he asks. Are you really the one who has to come? Are you really the one who has to come? Or should we be waiting for someone else? The same man who baptized the Son of God. The same man who saw the Spirit descend upon Jesus like a dove found himself sitting in a dark cell, wondering if he had lost everything.

And what I love about this moment is that Jesus did not blame him. Jesus did not say, brother, where is your faith? He did not correct him. Jesus sent him proof of who he is. So listen to me. Someone needs to hear this. God does not get offended by honest questions from a wounded heart. He does not. So there is grace. So if your voice trembles in this moment, if a doubt has been cast, you have to understand that the most difficult season does not disqualify you. In fact, it deepens you. The darkest seasons will sometimes bring the sweetest fruit to your life. y tenemos que apoyarnos en eso para poder desarrollarnos algunos de ustedes están diciendo escuchen no estoy listo pero no podría ser que dar un paso de obediencia sea justamente lo que te haga estar listo vamos sigue testificando sigue dando testimonio sigue hablando de él sigue contándole a la gente sobre él sigue haciendo un gran alboroto por él baja la ventana cuando estés en la 85 en medio del tráfico y grita una vez Jesús es el señor hace un gran alboroto por él verdad señor santifica nuestras voces tras desintoxicar y definir nuestras voces permitiendo que el Espíritu Santo las desarrolle es cuando llega el momento de actuar amigo es hora de desplegar nuestra voz es hora de hacerlo verdad en el versículo 29 dice esto que al día siguiente Juan vio a Jesús que venía hacia él y dijo miren he aquí el Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo y continúa diciendo que este mismo es el que yo conocí cuando dije un hombre que viene después de mí me ha superado porque en realidad él existía antes que yo verdad en este preciso momento Juan no se está autopromocionando de ninguna manera Jesús aparece en escena y no alardea de todo el trabajo que ha estado
