The Lord glorified himself, and obviously our soul rested more. But after six months, my wife found a little ball in her head, my daughter. She took her to the doctor, and it was the terrible news that I was able to receive. I think that this news, this situation, has been the strongest that, as a marriage, we have crossed. They told us that there was a tumor in her head. And that was a news that honestly shocked me. My legs would bend when I heard it. But we prayed, we trusted in the Lord. We went to the hospital, to Little Rock,

and along the way, we were singing, we were praising. But at the moment, when they went to her room, when we had prepared her, that they were going to take her to the operating room, my friend, that was very hard. I almost wanted to take her off the bed and put myself there, and say, take me, don't do that to her. But it was necessary to do that. Why am I telling you this? Because the story that we are going to see later, now, in the Word, you know that we have been seeing the life of Father Abraham, the so-called Father of Faith. And eight days ago, Pastor Pablo told us about when they received the news that they were going to have a son. And it is shocking because they are already elderly. They are a man and a woman of advanced age. But the Lord, some time after they received the news and after some events, fulfills his promise. Abraham, 100 years. Sarah, 90 years. And this son is born. The promise that the Lord had made was fulfilled. And after a while, the Lord asks Abraham for something, which is impressive. And we are going to see it. Bring your Bible. As our brother says, let's lift it up, let's show it. Because let me tell you something, brother, friend, that you visit us. It is an honor to be able to carry this book. The truth. It is not a religious book.

It is the word of the Lord. It is the word of the Creator. All wisdom is here. What the Lord wants us to know about him and about ourselves, he left it written. And we are going to go to Genesis, chapter 22, and we are going to be meditating on some verses from there. And we are going to start at the beginning. Verse 1 says the word of the Lord. Hombre, anciano, de 100 años, una mujer de 90 años, que dice la palabra que aún la costumbre de las mujeres había cesado en ella. El Señor se glorifica y cumple su promesa de este niño, un hijo esperado. Posiblemente entre 25 y 30 años de que el Señor le dio la promesa a Abraham a que se cumpliera,

fue lo que tuvieron que esperar. ¿Te imaginas esto? Una promesa que 20 años, 25 años esperando que se cumpliera, y se cumple. Ahora, no sabemos exactamente la edad que tenía Isaac, que dicho sea de paso, le ponen Isaac porque dice que es Isaac, es como me hizo sonreír, me hizo alegre el Señor. Por eso es que le ponen ese nombre a su hijo. Pero los estudiosos han determinado que aproximadamente tenía unos 20 años cuando sucede esto, cuando el Señor le dice, quiero que tomes a tu hijo, a quien tanto amas, a quien tanto esperaste, al que era imposible que tuvieras humanamente hablando, y lo lleves y lo sacrifices en un monte que yo te daré. Ponte a pensar nada más, escuchar esa palabra de lo que el Señor le está pidiendo a Abraham. Ahora, Abraham no era un creyente nuevo. Pues, vemos que el Señor ya había obrado en él. ¿Y por qué el Señor le pide esto a Abraham? Porque Dios prueba a los que le pertenecen. Dios prueba la fe de aquellos que creen en él. La fe de los que no esperan en el Señor no es probada, no puede ser probada, porque no le pertenecen a Dios. Así es que, amigo, amiga, hermano y hermana, si tú has puesto tu confianza, has entregado tu vida al Señor, créeme que va a llegar un momento donde el Señor va a probar tu fe. Y va a ser una situación difícil, complicada, que el mundo va a pensar, esto es una locura. ¿Cómo después de cumplir esta bendición, esta promesa,

ahora le está pidiendo a Dios que mata a su hijo? Literalmente le está pidiendo eso. Parece una contradicción de lo que ya le había dicho. Dios le dijo a Abraham, tú vas a ser padre de multitudes. Dice, mira las estrellas del cielo, ¿las puedes contar? No, así va a ser tu descendencia. Ve la arena del mar, ¿la puedes contar? No, así será tu descendencia. Y se cumple esa promesa en Isaac. Y ahora el Señor le está pidiendo que se lo entregue. ¿No te parece una contradicción? ¿No te parece que no tiene lógica? La prueba no era para que Dios aprendiera algo acerca de Abraham. Dios conoce tu corazón, conoce mi corazón y sabe cómo vamos a reaccionar. La prueba no es para descubrir, sino para revelar, para que Abraham mismo y nosotros nos diéramos cuenta de dónde estaba realmente el corazón de Abraham. Ahora, el Señor apunta al corazón de Abraham. For what he had already spoken to him, and what he had told him seemed impossible, it was fulfilled. And he knew that it was he who was speaking to him. There is a faith that gives everything. Not to feel the pain of losing his son, or to obey the word of his Lord? He does not question. He says that the next day, very early in the morning, he is going to do what the Lord asked him to do. Abraham goes on the road, and in the distance, he sees the mountain. Can you imagine that road, and the Lord says to him, that mountain, that is where I want you to give your son. Go there. Just think for a moment. Your son, your son whom you loved so much, whom you waited for so long, whom you lived with for so long, for approximately 20 years, you are walking with him, possibly by hand, because Abraham was an Athenian man, for approximately 120 years. And you are going to that place. Can you imagine what Abraham was thinking? Can you imagine the memories that came to his mind from when Isaac was a child? But Abraham decided to obey. Pero Abraham dice algo bien interesante, el muchacho y yo iremos y volveremos, adoraremos y volveremos. Dicho sea de paso, esta es la primera vez donde se menciona la adoración al Señor. Y dice él, iremos, adoraremos y volveremos. ¿Por qué dice esto? Si el Señor le está diciendo, quiero que lo entregues, es más, quiero que lo quemes. Prácticamente en la antigüedad, cuando hacían una ofrenda, era hasta que se consumiera totalmente la ofrenda. Imagínate la cantidad, digamos, de leña que tenían que cargar. Obviamente, dice ahí más adelante que Abraham pone la leña sobre el muchacho, porque Abraham era un anciano. Y de ahí es donde también deducen que era un joven, porque un niño podría cargar esa cantidad de leña, pues, prácticamente imposible. Pero, le dice, volveremos, porque Abraham sabía, no entendía lo que le estaba pidiendo el Señor, porque era casi imposible entender lo que le estaba pidiendo el Señor. Pero sabía quién era el que le estaba pidiendo aquello. Conocía a su Dios. Sabía que aún de las cenizas podía levantar a Isaac. Sabía que de entre los muertos podía levantar a Isaac. Y el libro de los hebreos en el Nuevo Testamento lo dice. Abraham, por la fe, sabía que aún de entre los muertos, y que de alguna manera de ahí lo sacó, el Señor podía entregarle a su hijo. Entonces, van más adelante. Y dice el versículo seis. Dijo el muchacho, ¿pero dónde está el cordero para la ofrenda quemada? Dios proverá un cordero para la ofrenda quemada, hijo mío, contestó Abraham. Así que ambos siguieron caminando juntos hacia el lugar donde el Señor le había ordenado. Dios proverá, le dice. Isaac, un joven inteligente, un joven que conocía cómo se hacía una ofrenda hacia el Señor. Le dicen, bueno, tenemos los elementos, tenemos la leña, tienes el fuego, tienes el cuchillo, como que hace falta algún. Dice, ¿dónde está? ¿Dónde está lo que vamos a sacrificar al Señor? Y Abraham le dice, Dios proverá. A algunas versiones dice, Dios se proverá para sí, un cordero. ¿Qué te deja ver esto?

Isaac, era un hombre entendido, un joven entendido, un joven que sabía lo que iban a hacer. Y van caminando y le dice, papá, bueno, y ahora. Imagínate escuchar eso de aquel que tiene que entregar en el sacrificio. Abraham le dice, Dios se va a proveer, Dios proverá. Y quédate con eso, hijo. Y ahora vemos la actitud del hijo ahí. Guarda silencio. Y camina con el padre. Porque él sabía, en estos sacrificios que siempre tenían que hacer. que llevar a un cordero, a una cabra, algo que tenían que ofrecer para el Señor. Y entiende lo que su padre le está diciendo. El Señor se va a proveer. OK. Cayo. Guardo silencio y sigo adelante. No hay mejor enseñanza que el ejemplo. No hay mejor enseñanza que el ejemplo. Abraham le había dado ejemplo a su hijo de la fe. Imagínate las cosas que vivieron juntos y la experiencia. Es más, de decirle, contarle, ¿sabes cómo fuiste concebido? Éramos unos viejos. Y él se daba cuenta de que ya eran, no, no son, un hombre y una mujer que no coincidían con la edad, ¿no? Para la que tenía él. No era difícil darse cuenta de eso. Cuando la fe verdadera se manifiesta, es cuando no hay razones visibles para tenerla. Ahí es donde se manifiesta la fe verdadera. No veía el cordero. No había una evidencia física de lo que el Señor le estaba, de lo que Isaac le estaba preguntando a su padre. No había una evidencia física. ¿Alguna vez has estado en esa posición donde no hay motivos para seguir creyendo y sigues creyendo? No hay esperanza, ¿pero sigues teniendo esperanza? Es el Señor que está manifestándose en tu corazón, diciéndote, yo estoy aquí contigo. Y el Señor se va a proveer. En cualquier situación, en cualquier momento que la vida te ponga un reto, realmente es el Señor el que está permitiendo que pases por eso. Y mira lo que pasa más adelante. Versículo 9. Cuando llegaron al lugar indicado por Dios, Abraham construyó el altar y colocó la leña encima. Luego ató a su hijo Isaac y lo puso sobre el altar, encima de la leña, y Abraham tomó el cuchillo para matar a su hijo en sacrificio. En ese momento, el ángel del Señor lo llamó desde el cielo, Abraham, Abraham. Sí, respondió Abraham, aquí estoy. No pongas tu mano sobre el muchacho, dijo el ángel. No le hagas ningún daño, porque ahora sé que verdaderamente temes a Dios. No me has negado ni siquiera tu hijo, tu único hijo.

Una fe verdadera sacrifica aún aquello que tanto ama. Y ve lo que sucede en ese momento. No hay una lucha entre el padre y el hijo. Podemos ver que prácticamente el hijo también se está ofreciendo voluntariamente. Porque como un hombre de 120 años va a poder con un joven de 20 años, ¿tú crees que no pasó por su cabeza lo que iba a suceder con él? O sea, con Isaac, que Isaac no sabía lo que estaba haciendo su padre. El Señor no lo durmió, no lo agarró distraído, no lo amarró así como que no se diera cuenta. Dice, no, lo puso ahí. Lo reposó en la leña y lo amarró. Con todo el dolor de su corazón, Abraham estaba ofreciendo a su hijo, obedeciendo la palabra del Señor. No retuvo ni pospuso la obediencia, lo que el Señor le había pedido. Y todo lo que Abraham había pasado en todo su caminar, lo llevó a este punto. El Señor lo llevó a este momento para que su fe fuera probada. Abraham había mostrado que tenía fe. Abraham sabía, conocía al Señor, sabía de lo que era capaz el Señor. I avoided it, I didn't even want to look at him, because I knew I felt something. I had to forgive that person for what he had done to me. And you know what the Lord did? What did he make me do? Forgive him a little more.

Last week, I went to him, I said, Do you have a minute? And he was looking at me like that, and I said, I came to ask you for forgiveness. My heart was, because my pride didn't allow me to do it. But if we want a faith that pleases the Lord, we must give everything. No matter what. Why does the Lord test us? Because He is God. And He can do anything. He can ask you for anything.
