Ohhhhhhhh! ♪♪ ♪♪ Buenos días, Iglesia Amada. ¿Cómo están hoy? ¿Felices o más o menos? Por lo que han vivido estas fechas, mucho deporte hemos hecho en estos días. Como ustedes sabrán, el mundo, las personas en general, tenemos atención y reconocimiento. Y eso es una realidad. Perdón. En la Biblia, una de las personas más reconocidas, tanto en el Antiguo Testamento como en el Nuevo, es el Rey David. El Rey David es conocido por sus hazañas, por lo que tenía, por lo que hacía. Incluso, normalmente cuando hay una confrontación entre dos personas desiguales, digamos, una es más fuerte que la otra, o un grupo es más fuerte que otro, normalmente se hace ese comentario, ¿no? Como David contra Goliat. Es un enfrentamiento desigual. Y esto a David le dio mucha fama, mucho reconocimiento. Todo un pueblo estaba amedrentado, temeroso, a causa de un gigante que salía y les hacía burla de quien sería aquel que le hiciera frente.

David, por la presencia del Señor en su vida, hizo frente porque él sabía que no lo iba a enfrentar él solo, sino que el Señor iba con él. El Señor lo unge como Rey a David. David vive en el palacio. David, como lo describe la Biblia, dice que era un hombre de buen parecer, alto, atlético, que sabía tocar el arpa, sabía cantar, que se enfrentaba a osos, leones, y los derrotaba. Es decir, era un tipo que prácticamente lo tenía todo. Solo le faltaba haber nacido en el Chilangolandia. Pero David lo tenía todo. Pero la verdad es que David también vivió una de las experiencias más terribles que el hombre puede vivir. Y eso fue el peso de un pecado oculto. Cuando David peca con Petsabé, les voy a platicar rápidamente la historia por si es que no la conocen. David estaba en el palacio y dice que una mañana salió a la azotea y vio a una mujer hermosa bañándose. Y preguntó, ¿Quién es esta mujer? Y le dijeron, es Metzabeth, la esposa de Urias. Y le dijeron, OK, me gusta, tráigamela. Se la llevaron al palacio y cometió adulterio. Tuvo relaciones con ella. Se fue a su casa. Tiempo después, se entera que esta mujer está embarazada. ¿Qué hace David? En lugar de actuar correctamente,

lo que hace es tratar de encubrir ese pecado. Manda llamar a Urias, el esposo de Metzabeth, de la batalla donde David debería de haber estado. Y le dice, ven a casa. Ve a tu casa, ve con tu mujer. Tú eres un hombre excepcional. Reconocemos lo que has hecho por el pueblo. Ve con tu mujer. Urias dice, no, soy capaz de hacer eso. Si yo sé que mis compañeros están en batalla, están sufriendo allá, ¿cómo yo voy a ir y dormir en la cama, en mi cama, tener una noche placentera, sabiendo que ellos están ahí? Y no va a su casa. David se entera y lo invita a un banquete. Lo pone borracho. Dice, vete a tu casa. Urias, por su integridad, dice, no voy a ir. Me voy a quedar. Nuevamente se queda donde quedó la noche anterior, que fue en la guardia del palacio. Bueno. OK. No pude hacerlo. David escribe una carta y ve nada más. Esto es algo perverso, algo duro. Escribe una carta y se la da al mismo Urias, para que se la dé al comandante que estaba en batalla, diciendo, quiero que pongas a Urias al frente de batalla, para que lo hieran y muera.

Tal cual estaba escrito. Wow. Llega a ese lugar y sucede eso. Urias muere. Al final, David dice, bueno, ya murió. Le dice al comandante, no, no te sientas mal. Esas cosas pasan. En la batalla mueren la gente. Y él piensa, hasta donde su mente le da, que el problema se acabó. Manda a traer a esta mujer y la hace su mujer. Se casa con ella. Y dice, ya, no hay culpa. Para los hombres, posiblemente, no había ninguna culpa o consecuencia de lo que había sucedido. Bueno, su esposo ha muerto. ¿Por qué no me voy yo a llegar a esta mujer? Ya no hay nada que nos impida estar juntos. Pero David, a pesar de que tenía todo, a pesar de la grandeza que el Señor le dio y el reconocimiento que él tenía, porque fue respaldado por el Señor en muchas de las áreas de su vida, en muchos momentos de su vida, David decide hacer cosas que no le agradaban al Señor. Y cuando vemos la vida de David, muchas veces vemos, bueno, si lo tenía todo. Por eso es que él escribía esos salmos, esos cánticos tan hermosos. Pero realmente, cuando vamos al salmo

en el cual vamos a meditar hoy, nos damos cuenta de lo que realmente David experimentó con esta historia que les acabo de contar. Y quiero que me acompañen al salmo 32. Y vamos a estar meditando en él, pero vamos a empezar a leer en el versículo 3 y 4. Y dice así la palabra del Señor. Realmente él lo que no quería era que se supiera lo que había hecho. Y una mala decisión lo llevó a otra mala decisión y a otra peor, y cada vez era más grande. Y el problema ni siquiera fue, como a veces en lo personal pienso, es que el Señor no quería que se supiera lo que había hecho. Si se enteran de lo que yo hice mal, ahí va a estar el problema. Realmente, dice David, mientras oculté mi pecado. Ese es el verdadero problema. No que se sepa, sino tratar de ocultarlo. David describe cuatro consecuencias. Su cuerpo se debilitó, perdió el gozo, vivía bajo la disciplina de Dios, su fuerza desapareció. El pecado afecta la mente, las emociones, la conciencia, y aún nuestro cuerpo. David, en lugar de llegar o entrar en razón de lo que había hecho, cada vez iba a más y a más. Y no importaba las consecuencias. Por una mala decisión, una decisión que aparentemente le iba a traer satisfacción o felicidad. Hoy en día, vivimos en una sociedad que te dice, sé feliz. No importa qué, no importa cómo, no importa lo que hagas,

ni las consecuencias. Sé feliz. Y vemos a personas que hacen hasta cosas terribles y fuera de lógica por sentirse felices. Vemos hombres y mujeres que se sienten lo que no son, biológica, física, cultural, moralmente. Hombres que se sienten gatos, que se sienten perros, porque eso los hace felices. Vemos a mujeres, que esto es duro, pero es verdad, matando a sus hijos en el vientre, porque arruina sus planes, que ella tiene derecho a ser feliz. Vemos hombres abandonando su familia por seguir otro sueño, porque tiene derecho a ser feliz. Matrimonios que se separan, porque mi pareja ya no me hace feliz, ya no me hace sentir como antes me sentía. Aún cuando a veces hacen esas promesas delante de Dios, estaré contigo en las buenas y en las malas, solo que no especifican que eran mis malas, no las tuyas. Yo puedo tener un mal día, tú no. Yo puedo tener malas decisiones, tú no. Incluso vemos a gente que se va de la iglesia porque ya no se siente feliz, porque el pastor no lo saludó, porque el hermano no lo toma en cuenta. No me hace feliz lo que tú estás haciendo, y por eso tomo las decisiones que tomo. Pero el mayor problema, mi hermano, mi amigo que nos visitas hoy, en el hombre no es la felicidad, no es economía, no es reconocimiento, no son los éxitos. El mayor problema del hombre es espiritual.

El más grande problema que tú y yo tenemos es espiritual. Y si nosotros pretendemos esconder aquello que nos está haciendo frenar nuestra carrera espiritual delante de Dios, nos va a traer miseria, como lo hizo con el rey David. ¿Qué le hacía falta a David? Nada. No tenía todo. Realmente, todo lo que tú y yo podríamos humanamente aspirar, no tenía David. Era guapo, tenía éxito, reconocimiento. Aún antes de ser rey, el pueblo lo quería mucho. Cantaban canciones como, Saúl, el rey actual, mató a sus miles, pero David mató a sus diez miles. David nos representa. ¿Qué le hacía falta a David? Tenía mujeres hermosas. Nada le hacía falta a David. Pero su relación con el Señor estaba menguando. Llevó a tomar decisiones que le trajeron ruina a su vida propia. Dice, mientras yo traté de ocultar mi pecado, me consumí por dentro. Pero David comprendió que el camino hacia la libertad comienza con una confesión sincera. Fíjate lo que dice el versículo 5. Finalmente, te confesé todos mis pecados y ya no intenté ocultar mi culpa. Me dije, le confesaré mis rebeliones al Señor y tú. You forgave me. All of my guilt disappeared. David confessed and did not try to minimize his sin, nor did he try to justify his sin.

He did not say, why was he bathing there, in front of me? As sometimes, many times, we, and I say this on a personal level, I do. Well, if you treat me like that, I will also treat you like this. My parents were to blame for how they treated me. I had a terrible experience when I was a child, and that is why I am as I am. I am not so bad. I see people who do worse things. Why wouldn't I do this thing? Not so bad. And that is the leader. And I see him doing that. Whatever it is. But in order to justify ourselves, we see things terribly. And we try to minimize our sin. We try to justify why I act like this. And the only way that you and I can get out of that hole that sin creates, by trying to hide our sin, is by confessing it. There is no other way. But confession is not for the Lord to know what you are doing, or what you have hidden. Really, God knows us perfectly, and He knows how, when, and where we have sinned. And we have failed. Confession is not for the Lord to say, oh, you really did that? Wow, I had not noticed. How did David suppose that this was happening? It was until the prophet Nathan came to David, and he told him a story about a rich man and a poor man. The rich man had many animals, and the poor man only had one. The rich man had a visitor. And instead of taking from everything that he had, what the Lord had given him, he took from the poor man, the only animal he had, to give it to his visitors. Nathan tells this story to David, and David says, surely this man must pay. That is not just what he is doing.

And Nathan says to David, that is you. Wow. Wow. How many times have we condemned the one who hurt us, and we do not look at ourselves? How many times do we look at what they did to me that does not make me happy? And then I look for another way out. And we do not put ourselves in the place where we really belong. The Lord Jesus went to the cross for you and for me. And he paid for our sins. All of them. But far from going to the feet of the Lord, we want to hide from him. How many times do we do something terrible, or not so terrible, that stops us from doing the will of the Lord? Does doing the will of the Lord mean a sacrifice? Yes. It is true. David recognized his guilt. He did not care about his social position, or what they would say. What good would it do for the world to know, if the one who had chosen him knew everything? In front of the Lord we cannot hide anything. There is nothing that can be hidden in front of his presence. But when David went to him, he said, I have finally confessed my sins. The burden that I had on him has been lifted. I did not try to hide it. And you, Lord, have forgiven me. What was God's response? Condemnation? Did he point it out? No. The Lord forgave him.

When did he forgive him? At that moment. I will forgive you, but if you behave, more or less. If you behave well, I will forgive you. I have to see, really. God knows our hearts, and knows perfectly if you and I are one. honest in front of him, if we really are repentant. And the word says that in that instant the Lord forgave him. David hid his sin, says the scholars, for approximately a year, since he committed adultery, until he confessed his sin. For a whole year, carrying that guilt, trying to do and cover. He took from one side to cover here, but made the hole bigger on the other side. The Lord did not wait. The Lord seeks to have a relationship with us that is transparent, free. That there is not something that prevents us from doing his will. Why does God want us to repent? Not only do I speak of people who have never confessed their sins in front of him, but of his own people. David was from the chosen people of God. David was anointed by him. He was anointed by the prophet to be king. And the word still says that David had the heart according to the heart of God. It was not that David did not know God. But when we are not really transparent in front of the Lord, that stops us. It stops us from doing his will. Why did God send the prophet to reveal the situation David was in? God hurts that you and I live apart from him. He does not like that. God wants you and I to have a full relationship with the Lord.

The pastor told us a moment ago, through Jesus there is no other way that we can reach him, if it is not through his son. The word says in John 3.17, because God did not send his son to condemn the world, but for the world to be saved by him. We hide our sins, we hide what we have done so that it is not exposed, so that it is not known. And that is the problem. And not because the world knows it. Unfortunately, we care more about the opinion of my neighbor, my brother, my wife, my pastor, than what God thinks of me. Unfortunately. But the Lord wants us to have a transformed life. Look at how the psalm David begins. Oh, what joy for those to whom disobedience is forgiven, to whom sin is covered. Yes, what joy for those to whom the Lord has erased the guilt of their account, those who lead a life of total transparency. To those who were erased the guilt of their account. This is practically a financial term. How would we react, all of us here, if we were told, all the debt you have, I'm sure more than 80% of us here have debt, it has been canceled. That they call you to the bank and tell you, you know what, you owe so many thousands of dollars, but from now on you don't owe anything.

Honestly, how would we answer? What would be our reaction? Joy. We would pay maybe a meal or something like that. Well, I'm not going to spend and pay that, because I'm going to do it. That's the truth. Or that they told you, you know what, you won a house, or a car, or something of great value, and you don't have to pay anything at all. We would be happy. Let me tell you something. Any earthly debt that any man can have, is payable or cancelable in some way. In some drastic cases, even the death of the debtor cancels that debt. The debt that we have in front of God for sin, nothing can cancel it. No debtor can cancel his debt. Only he who has no debt at all. And his name is Jesus. And the Lord tells us on this day, on this afternoon, tomorrow, I don't know what time, I know what your condition is. I really know how your heart is. Ven, pongámonos a cuentas. Algunas versiones dice, Bienaventurado aquel que el Señor le perdona sus deudas. Y bienaventurado quiere decir que tiene una felicidad profunda, no superficial.

No una felicidad que te pueda dar una relación humana. No una felicidad que te pueda dar un éxito humano. No una felicidad que te pueda dar adquirir una casa más grande, un auto último modelo. Es una felicidad eterna y que nada ni nadie la pueda arrebatar. Hoy mi hermano, mi querido amigo, amiga, hoy es el día. Hoy yo no sabemos si mañana vamos a despertar. Y no lo sabemos. Pero si tú tienes algo que confesarle al Señor, no te lo guardes. No te lo guardes. El Señor está esperándonos con los brazos abiertos. No importa qué. ¿Qué más da que de alguna manera seamos exhibidos? Si aquel que pagó por nosotros fue exhibido en una cruz. Y lo dio todo por amor. Por amor a ti, por amor a mí. ¿Qué es lo que mueve lo que hacemos? ¿Qué es lo que nos mueve? ¿Sobresalir por los demás? ¿Por encima de los demás? No importa qué. Ser feliz, además, o sobre los demás. Ser feliz, no importa qué tenga que hacer. O ser humilde delante del Señor y reconocer que sin Él nada podemos hacer. ¿Por qué el Señor quiere que nosotros seamos libres? Para que el mundo pueda ver a través de ti y de mí que Dios es real. Que su Hijo fue a la cruz para pagar nuestras culpas. Y que toda la gente que está allá afuera, que no lo conoce aún, pueda ver a través de nuestras vidas que hay una esperanza para ellos también. David, a partir de ese momento, cambió totalmente. Y no te voy a decir que nunca más volvió a fallar. Claro que falló.

Claro que cometió errores. Pero tenía la certeza de que el Señor estaba con él. Y que podía ir con él con total transparencia. Y recibir el perdón una y otra vez. No porque el Señor no lo haya quitado ya. Sino para que nosotros podamos ser libres de eso. ¿Para qué es la confesión? ¿Para qué el Señor nos incita a confesar nuestras culpas? Porque nos libra del autoengaño. Y apelamos a la misericordia y a la buena voluntad de Dios. Quiero que te pongas de pie. Te voy a invitar a que te pongas de pie. Y a los hermanos que tienen que pasar. Que vayan pasando. Y déjame leírte este último versículo. Que se encuentra en 1 Juan 1, versículos 8 y 9. Dice, si afirmamos que no tenemos pecado, lo único que hacemos es engañarnos a nosotros mismos. Y no vivimos en la verdad. Pero si confesamos nuestros pecados a Dios, Él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados y limpiarnos de toda maldad. La pregunta no es si tú y yo hemos cometido pecado. La pregunta es si seguimos queriendo esconder ese pecado. Vamos a cantar una canción y te voy a pedir. Que si el Señor te ha llamado. Si la palabra del Señor te ha confrontado. Que pases. Y no te sientas juzgado, observado. Porque todos aquí, todos aquí, hemos cometido faltas. Pero hemos acudido algunos a la gracia del Señor. Y necesitamos todos, día con día.

de esa gracia para hacer su voluntad
