The Goodness of God - Part 19 - The Names of God, Part III

Hello, this is Mike Kennedy with the Living and Victory broadcast. We're going to continue our series today on the goodness of God. God is so good to us. If there's been some challenges in your life, attacks of the enemy, things that have gone bad for you and you blame God, I encourage you to go back to part one of this series. Find out who God is and who the enemy is. Amen? This series is based on Psalms 34, chapter 34, verse 8. It says, Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. If you've tasted stuff that was bitter, that was painful, hurtful. That's not God. God is not in that. It says blessed is the man who trusts in him, who has faith in him. John 10, 10 says the thief, that's sainted. The evil loser, defeated one. You may say, Oh, that's cool stuff, man. Well, no, he's a loser. Do you really want to be part of serving a loser? No, you don't. You want to be a winner, an overcomer, not a loser. Amen? That's going to end up in hell, burning for eternity. That ain't cool. That's dumb. The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. Why do you want anything to do with that? You may say, I'm part of the thugs, man. Yeah. Well, you may want to get saved, get right, because Satan is a thug and he is the ultimate loser. You people may not know it now, but the end result is not good. And verse 10, 10 goes on to say, I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. I want and desire an abundant life, excessive with peace and joy and blessings, prosperity. Amen? Join your faith with me. Heavenly Father, we come to you. We ask you for revelation of your word, for light, for understanding of it, that we'd be doers of it. Help us to see that you are a good God and that you have plans to prosper us, plans to do good to us and not harm. Father, we thank you for it in the name of Jesus. Amen. Well, this is part 19 of the series, but it's the third part on the names of God that reveal his character, his character that he is a good, good God. Each of the names of God carries a deep significance about his nature, his character, his relationship with his children. These names are not just titles. They're powerful declarations, powerful descriptions of who he is, what he wants to do for us, what he is able to do for us. Amen? It's not just a label or a brand. They carry weight on who God is. It defines his goodness. We've already talked about a few of these. Jehovah-Ra or El-Rohi, which is the Lord my shepherd. God who sees the one that nobody else notices or that people forgot. You may be locked up in prison and everyone forgot about you. God didn't forget about you. Amen? That's based on Genesis 16, 13. It means to see you because you matter. Amen? God who sees you where you are knows your heart, knows your challenges, knows the attacks of the enemy in your life

and loves you and wants to help you and bring you up. We talked about Yahweh, the self-existent one, the God who is without limit or end. Amen? Yahweh, it also is many times expressed as Jehovah, same words. The Lord is the one who is and who was and who is to be. In Exodus 3, 14, when Moses came to the burning bush, He said, who are you? He says, I am who I am at the burning bush. That means He is everything we need, everything that we desire that is good, it's Him. It's in Him, through Him, amen? We talked about Elohim, the mighty Creator, the God who creates from nothing. It's the first name God mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 1.1. Actually, this was mentioned 35 times in the 31 verses of the first chapter of Genesis, Elohim, and it's a plural word. So we talked about that, where any of the Hebrew words that end in I am, at the end of it, that means plural, like cherub is one angel. Cherubim is many angels, amen? He is the Godhead three-in-one, God, Jesus, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. People didn't understand it back then because Jesus hadn't come, the Comforter hadn't come, but glory to God, it was setting us up for who He is to us today, hallelujah. It was highlighting in plural form His power, His majesty, the role of Creator of the universe, and our Savior. We talked about El Shaddai, Lord God Almighty, which means God is enough. It doesn't matter what is going on. He is almighty, all-powerful over any attack, over everything. He is the all-sufficient One. We talked about Shadd, from El Shaddai. That word Shadd comes from the word breast, our total source of supply. It's like a baby's nourishment from their mama. Everything they need to grow and to get established is in that El Shaddai. He can supply everything we need. We talked about El Elyon, the Most High God, Maker of heaven and earth. God is above anything and anyone that threatens you. He's the Most High God of omnipotence, holiness, of a gracious nature, above all else. And if you're in covenant with El Elyon, man, you are in a great place. And the moral of that one is don't mess with a covenant man, a man who is in covenant with God. Amen? Well, I'm in covenant with God. See, Abraham was a covenant man, in covenant with God, and God protected him, blessed him, prospered him, made him rich, the father of many nations. We talked about Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will provide, where it's first mentioned in

Genesis 22, 14, where God provided the ram for Abraham instead of Isaac, his son. And because of that, it gave God a covenant legal right to send Jesus so that He could die on the cross for you and for me. Amen? He is our provider for everything if we turn towards Him. Oh, we have to work. We have to trust God. We have to be doers of the Word, giving tithes, offerings. Okay? We have to live according to His covenant to reap all the blessings of His covenant. Amen? Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, the God who heals. And back in Exodus 15, 23, Moses had taken all the Hebrews out of Egypt, and he was leading them in the desert. And they came to an area called Marah. And it says in Exodus 15, 23, Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. It was bad water. Amen? Therefore the name of it was called Marah, or bitter. And the people complained against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? Why are you complaining? Yeah, you do need water. You don't think God knows that? He is our provider. He sees before we need it, and He provides. We just have to turn towards Him, be patient in faith, and faith without action is dead. And yet all they wanted to do is complain. Think of all the miracles that had come against Pharaoh, against Egypt, how they came across the Red Sea. All the different things of the gods of Egypt had been brought to naught, so that they were worthless, weaklings, no power. Amen? No authority over God, the true God. And here they are complaining, grumbling, little whiny babies. So, verse 25, So he cried out to the Lord, This is a good leader. He cried out to the Lord. He turned towards God when people were complaining against him, wanting to take him out, and the Lord showed him a tree. Well, what's a tree going to do when you've got a pond of bad water? When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. A chemical reaction occurred. I don't know what that chemical reaction was. It wasn't a distillation column with heavies and lights and heat going up and separating

different things, but there was a chemical reaction, a change at the molecular level, and God knew what it would take to make it sweet, good water. There he made a statue and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them and said, if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, give ear to his commandments. In other words, we need to get in his word and be doers of his word. If we are, then we will get the results of his word, amen? He will provide for us. He will protect us. He will bring us up and out. He will prosper us, and he will heal us, amen? He goes on to say, and he said, if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. Man, the Egyptians opened up some door to some whoopings. I don't want that in my house. It says, for I am the Lord who heals you. In other words, this is God declaring, I am your healer physically, spiritually, emotionally. The word here means to restore, to mend, to cure, to heal, to make whole, amen? And it could be your nation, cities, it could be your health, physical health, your relationships, amen? They had bitter, contaminated water and needed a miracle to take out the bitterness. You may have bitterness in a relationship with a child, a parent, bitterness in a relationship with a spouse. What you need is a miracle. You need that relationship just like the water of Merah made sweet. You need a miracle from God to heal that relationship, and he will do it if you turn towards him. Now, you're going to have to humble yourself, take some responsibility. You may not have done some of the things you're accused of. You know, there was a situation in my life where there was some strife going on.

I was involved in it, didn't say I was right, and I didn't start it, and the Lord told me to do something. And I'm like, what, no, I'm not wrong in this situation, pride, I'm not wrong. And he said, would you do that? Showed me the word where I needed to do it. I went and did it, and miracle changes in the atmosphere, in a relationship, God restored it. I needed that miracle, but it started off with me humbling myself, amen? You may need to do that. You may need to do that in your marriage. No, you don't need a new husband or wife, a new watering hole, a new pond, a new lake. If that bitterness can be changed from a tree so that they can drink sweet water, that relationship full of bitterness can change that easily with a miracle from God. Poisoned water changed at the chemical level. This is just like Jesus' first miracle. You know, people say, oh, Jesus healed people as a child. No, that's a lie. It's not what the word says. It said that after the Holy Spirit came upon him when he was baptized by John, the Holy Spirit came upon him, and that was the beginning of miracles. So you can have a change in your life just like changing water into wine. The first miracle was party supplies that Jesus provided at a wedding, amen? Here he is providing party supplies. God wants to do more than just meet our needs. He wants to bless us. He wants to give us good vacations, good times, amen? He restores what has gone wrong. You can have hope in his word that it doesn't matter what needs restored. God is a God of restoration, amen? Something small, this little tree was thrown into a lake, and it solved the whole problem.

You may think, oh, man, I need a huge miracle. No, you need something from God, a little change, a little adjustment. One of that nature is so easy for God. 2nd Chronicles 7 14 it says if if it's conditional if my people who are called by my name that's me I'm a child of God I'm called by his name will humble themselves that's what I had to do in that situation where there was strife and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin glory to God hallelujah all we have to do is turn towards him and we can be made white clean like we never sinned he will forgive our sin and heal their land amen our nation needs this we've had issues going back to times where Indians were not treated right where dark-skinned people were brought over from Africa as slaves and not treated right amen there needs to be healing some people have never dealt with anything but the blessings and yet they're still upset over something that they didn't deal with from hundreds of years ago that their family went through God can restore that but you need to lay down the past amen forget the past God did and he's our example he forgot your past he forgot where you missed it your sin so just lay it down forgive it amen forgive forget it amen we need this physically emotionally spiritually amen we need restoration from heartbreaks you know God healed the woman who was bleeding for 12 years in Luke 4 848 God heals from the root of an issue if you turn turn towards him he doesn't just super and superficially heal something he will totally heal it from the root and restore it like it was new like it would have never been there amen Luke 8 43 let's take a look at this it says now woman having a flow of blood for 12 years can you imagine bleeding every day back then you know I dealt with an internal bleeding issue and every few weeks I had to get a transfusion that wasn't fun but they didn't have those technologies back then thank you Lord for science for technology for blood banks it helped me while I was building my faith to fight to fight and overcome and receive my healing so she was dealing with an internal bleeding issue a flow of blood for 12 years who had

spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any she was bank going bankrupt trying to pay doctors that still wasn't dealer you know there's a lot of people that have spent everything they've got trying to pay a doctor and got nowhere they've actually gotten worse that's what's going on here well she came from behind and touched the border of his garment and immediately her flow of blood stopped she touched Jesus you know you can touch Jesus today by reaching out to him and you can touch the presence of God and the Holy Spirit will come upon you he will touch you he will give you peace beyond understanding verse 45 and Jesus said who touched me what do you mean he's in the middle of a bunch of crowd of people when all all had denied it which means she denied it she lied when all denied it Peter and those with him said master the multitude strong impressed you and you say who touched me in other words all kinds of people are bumping into you touching you and you're wanting to know who touched you there's many people around who knows who it was that you're talking about but Jesus said somebody touched me for I've perceived power going out from me power power can come into your situation the power of God to change things that is the goodness of God amen we're talking about the goodness of God and the names of God that define his goodness so power from the Jehovah Rapha the one who heals the Lord who heals that power left Jesus and it says in verse 3 47 when the woman saw that she was not hidden she came trembling and falling down before him she declared to him in his presence of all the people the reason she had touched him and how she was healed immediately she came concerned that power that she took that Hildur she was gonna lose her healing came trembling in fear now don't go to God in fear he's here to comfort you to forgive you to have mercy on you ask for mercy and he will grant you mercy ask for wisdom he will give you wisdom ask for healing and do what he says and he has already bought and paid for it we must take it by faith amen and he said to her daughter Be of good cheer your faith has made you well go in peace Shalom

We have been healed already by what Jesus did on the cross but we've got to take it by faith just like she reached out and Touched the hem of his garment and took it by faith. She took that power She said all I need to do is touch the hem of his garden Garment and that power will touch me. It will heal me. Amen Glory to God Mmm, you know healing Sometimes is a battle whenever I was going through my issue going to the mail clinic paying for doctors paying for medication You know, I've been given a great bill of health But during that period I had to fight I had to fight what the doctor's reports were mental fight I had to say no it is written. It is also written. Amen We need to stand on the word. Amen For every adversity in our life You know, I used to race Harley-Davidson dragsters on the pro circuit National Circuit Ahdra all Harley-Davidson drag racing Association. It became part of the NHRA And I was on a National Circuit and when I started I didn't have the money. I didn't have the experience Whenever I told share that I wanted to drive Race a drag bike. I was gonna go by when she looked at me like I had some marbles loose But we prayed got an agreement went out and bought a bike. I learned how to race and at that point in time, you know, this is expensive on the National Circuit and We're building a new house in Colorado in the company I worked for they Came after me with a frivolous lawsuit for over five hundred thousand dollars Which they dropped the day before we were supposed to enter into court. They just wanted to hurt me They didn't they knew that was frivolous. They knew that they didn't have anything It was a scheme of the enemy and they dropped the lawsuit My attorney were ticked off because I wouldn't count or suit for Mental challenges and pain and suffering now that's between them and God God brought me through He's my source all the money I paid God will restore he has restored and he will continue to bless me but we moved to Texas and So I'm out racing on the circuit. I had a check in my heart and I disobeyed it

I wanted to go race man. I wanted speed man. I wanted to get on that trip. I walked out prayed forever I was a chaplain of in of NHRA's Harley Davidson drag racing division So I went out and a lot of the guys on the track were wanting prayer a lot of the wives and girlfriends of the guys racing wanted prayer that their husband or boyfriend would come back alive and so You know because we didn't have roll bars. We didn't have cages and harnesses. We had a helmet and leathers and so You know, I was out praying still knew something wasn't right I walked up and down the track came back to the pit told the guys that were mechanics and said man look over the bike Make sure everything is tightened So at this time, I'm even saying tell my wife man check to see if you see anything So what'd she do? She started checking it. She found some screws loose. Well that it was the screws for the ignition system She started changing them set off my timing my anyway, glory to God I still we were able to correct that. I told her to tighten something. It's my fault I didn't oversee it. So she had adjusted some screws that affected the gas to oil mixture on it Well that that that's not good. So we got it straightened out just in time But I overruled what the Lord was telling me. I'm like, let's go racing boys So we went out to the track man. It sounded good I do remember a couple things from that day, man. It sounded good. So I line up I'm Full throttle pop the clutch. I'm gone man, and I'm screaming down the track That's all I remember because see I was in rebellion But my wife stood on the word That God was not through with me yet in that. He is the healer See what happened was I Ended up having a mechanical problem on the bike Ended up hitting the track at well over a hundred miles an hour Now this is after it already set the track record and was slowing down the good thing is I was slowing down put my brakes in the bike hit the bottom of the The asphalt and concrete took me flying against a concrete wall So I had a helicopter ride that I don't remember that was quite pricey

He told my wife if he lives he's gonna be mineral retarded and paralyzed And she said don't speak that over my husband's either your words have power of death power of life in them And she kept saying no, he will fulfill the call of God on his life. He will complete his race and so she stood on Jehovah Rapha the Lord who heals amen and within hours a Miracle happened in my life. It's on my website my full testimony audio version of it As well as the testimony that brother Kenneth Copeland put in his magazine a copy of it is there where it shows how I was lifelighted to Baylor Medical and Dallas their trauma center the biggest best trauma center in the whole region out there. I was lifelighted to it They didn't think I was going to live. I was out of the hospital in two days the next day I was up walking around eating normal food The CAT scans MRI showed brain swelling showed damage to my spine broken Bones here. My face was just huge because I hit my head See what one thing that happens the handlebars went flying up I'm doing a hundred miles an hour or more on my back handlebars come through You can only imagine how good-looking I used to be before I was hitting the head with a handlebar at that speed. Mmm yeah, so but God healed me because he is a Merciful God and he is Jehovah Rafa the Lord who heals and he will heal you a man. He will restore you It doesn't matter what the doctor's report says Whose report are you going to believe if you need healing in your body? God wants to touch you right now. He's already bought and paid for it. We need to receive it by faith So I'm gonna decree over you healing you need to say I take it by faith I receive it mount now. It doesn't matter if it's cancer if it's AIDS What it is and how you got it if you repent and receive what Jesus did on the cross He will forgive you cleanse you and heal you all at the same time It's already bought and paid for we just receive it. So Heavenly Father I ask you for mercy on my brothers and sisters those that need healing

I ask you to touch them have mercy on them with new oil and wine father Satan we bind you and shut you down cease your maneuvers against them I declare healing upon you be healed be quickened be Strengthened be restored in the name of Jesus father. I thank you for it Just say I believe it and I receive it. I take it by faith in the name of Jesus Amen, and you watch if that's you whenever miracle manifestations are occurring You need to let people know testify say God healed me. He restored me. Amen.
