Priestly Intercession

What's going on, family? Video number seven, this is gonna be powerful. Priests don't just pray about people, they pray for people. I'm gonna say it again. Priests don't just pray about people, they pray for people. And this video is about priestly intercession, standing in the gap with power. So as a priest, you're not only called to go to God for yourself, but you're also called to go to God on behalf of others. I'm gonna say it again. You are not just called to go to God for yourself, you are called to stand in the gap and go to God about others, for others. Kings fight for territory, but priests fight for souls and the spirit first. Kings will lead in front of people, but priests behind the scenes will weep for people before God. Kings make decrees in the courts of earth, right? Making decrees and things start shaking, but priests make intercession in the courts of heaven with the Father's heart. Listen, with authority and no compassion, you can become a spiritual dictator. Again, if you're authoritative, but you have no like priestly intercession life, you can become a dictator.

Compassion without intercession makes for emotional believers as well. So again, compassion, you feel compassionate about someone, but you don't pray about it, you don't do anything about it. An intercession, it can make you an emotional believer, about people instead of crying for people. Again, always crying about people or about situations instead of crying for people, for the situation. So righteous compassion is expressed through intercession. And that's what makes for powerful priests. Intercession is not for the spiritually elite. It's not just for the prayer warriors. It's not only just for pastors. If you're a believer, you are a priest. If you are a priest, you are called to intercede. Remember, this is your identity. You're a priest and a king. So what is intercession? Some of you have no idea what it is. Let me break it down, take it deeper. Intercession simply means to stand in the place between. So it's between God and man, between destruction and mercy, between the attack and the assignment, between the bondage and the breakthrough. It's not begging. It's not emotional release. Like I'm not going to God crying,

oh God, why are they like this? It's not telling God what he already sees because he's all knowing. Intercession is enforcing God's heart, his desire over someone's situation. It's when a priest says, Father, I'm standing right here until the chains break. I refuse to let the enemy have them. Use me as the bridge. Listen, intercession is not weakness. Intercession is warfare. So let's talk about some biblical examples of priestly intercession. Moses stood between God and Israel and the wrath was actually lifted, Exodus 32, 11. Abraham stood before God for Sodom and God was willing to spare the city for 10 righteous, Genesis 18, 23. Jesus hung on a cross saying, Father, forgive them. We know about this for they don't know what they do even when they murdered him. Stephen said the same thing while being stoned to death. Right, and that's priesthood under pressure. He saw Jesus stand up at the right hand of the Father. And who actually was part of that order of his death? Saul, who eventually became Paul. His intercession potentially brought Saul into the kingdom of God, who became one of the greatest apostles of this new period, this new covenant period.

Priests change God's response over people because they carry God's heart for people. Like I said, you gotta carry the heart of God for people. You gotta see them rightly from your heart. Intercession is birthing things in the spirit. When you intercede, you're not just praying for someone, you're laboring until something shifts. Again, you're not just praying for someone one time, you labor and travail in the spirit until you see physically something shift. So if you're part of a church, a local church, and you see someone who might be dealing with, let's say, for example, gossip, and you tell them and they don't receive it or you tell them and they keep doing it, it's now time to take it to the spirit. This is a spiritual issue. And you labor until you see change. And let me tell you, Holy Spirit loves to show you. I've prayed and labored for people for months, weeks, years, and when that breakthrough comes, Holy Spirit will show me, look, it'll be a situation. The person will tell me, or the person will go to someone else and tell them, or I'll see the change myself. Elijah interceded, and what happened? Rain returned. Hannah interceded, what happened? Samuel was born. The church interceded, and what happened?

Peter was released from prison. Jesus interceded, and what happened? Salvation was released to all, and Jesus is still interceding for us right now with his blood and love. Some destinies are waiting for someone to go into labor of prayer. Man, some people, literally, their destinies are at a halt because no one's interceding for them, and God is calling you to be the greatest amongst everyone, a servant. A servant is not just someone who picks up trash or cleans toilets, even though that is serving when your heart is for God, but a servant is also someone who prays for others instead of always praying for themselves. If God is asking, who will stand in the gap? Your response should be, here I am, Lord, use me. Intercession is accessing the heart of God for others. Again, you don't have to be a prophetic intercessor to intercede. Are some people assigned to that as a direction that God, an assignment that God has them on? Of course, but everyone's called to prophetically intercede. It's not just for the intercessor, just like everyone's called to evangelize, it's not just for the evangelist, or everyone's called the pastor, not just for the pastor. Everyone's called to build, not just the apostle. Everyone's called to prophesy, not just the prophet. Everyone's called to teach the word, not just the teacher. Everyone's called to intercede, not just the prophetic intercessor. So you don't intercede from frustration. Our intercession should never be from the flesh. It should be from the heart of the Father, through compassion, being able to see as he sees. So before we begin to intercede, we need to get in worship and get in the spirit to see the person rightly, if we're not already. You don't pray against people, that's witchcraft. You pray against what's attacking people. So if you're praying and saying, God, I pray in the name of Jesus, this person falls, this person gets humbled, and you break them and you do all, like, bro, it could be so strifeful, fleshy from the heart is witchcraft. You're speaking death over them. You're speaking curses. Instead, pray against the enemy that's attacking them. Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus, that spirit of gossip that's been attacking my brother. Lord, I pray that you are buying that spirit. Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that you reveal, open up the eyes of their heart,

so they'll have understanding on how they need to stop the gossip, Lord. Get to the root of the issue, Father. I thank you, Lord, that my brother loves you and that he wants to go deeper with you. Show him the root issue in a dream or vision or in prayer when he's praying, so he can repent of anything that he might be dealing with that causes him to gossip, Lord. Get to the heart issue, Lord, and show him with your love. And I pray your love will bring him to deep, heartfelt inner healing and repentance, Lord, a change of mind and direction in the name of Jesus. You see the difference? I'm not praying with strife. I'm praying according to the Father's heart. Instead of praying, Lord, fix them. Pray, Lord, heal them. Reveal yourself to them. Restore them. Priests don't gossip about people's issues. They fight for their freedom before God. I feel like a lot of Christians, and I've done this before myself, will speak to someone in the name of, oh, I want you to pray for them. Pray for this person because they're dealing with da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Now, you've shifted the perspective of that person and that brother or sister that you just spoke to, and now they're not seeing the person rightly. If you've been the person that's gossiped or even been the person that has taken an ear to gossip, remember, you got to dismantle that. Right there, what I do on the phone sometimes when I start hearing somebody talk to somebody or even in person, they start talking about someone and it becomes gossipy, I'll stop and say, amen, let's pray for them right now in the name of Jesus, and I'll start speaking life over them. I'll tell the person, I don't want to talk about issues. I want to pray about the issues. Let's pray for them in the name of Jesus, and let's pray actually life over them. If they're telling me, oh, this person, they're just dealing with a lot of division in their heart, I would say, okay, let's pray. Father, I thank you that you brought so much unity to their life. Father, I thank you that your love is being revealed to them so they're unified with their brothers and sisters in Christ and that you have a calling on their life to bring people together in the body, and I start speaking and blessing them in the spirit. I don't like allowing gossip in because as a Christian, I dealt with gossip myself for years until God really delivered me from it and showed me. In the name of let's pray for them, I would be gossiping really just in my heart. I was dealing with offense or I was dealing with an issue, and I would speak it because I wanted to feel better about myself. In the name of I'm telling you this to pray for them. That's wrong. That's gossip, and priests don't gossip about people's issues. They fight for their freedom before God, so we all need to repent. I know some of you are listening to this, and you're

like, dang, I need to repent myself. Yes, you do, and it's okay. The blood of Jesus wipes you. Repent, change mind, change direction, and do better, and ask God to work on your heart. It's not a mouth issue. It's a heart issue, and I had to realize that myself because I would try really hard not to gossip from my mouth, but I'd realize how in my nature, in my heart, I would want to, and it would be a struggle until I cried out to God and said, God, help me, and it was about a month or two of consistent prayer and intercession, asking God to help me, help the ministry, help my wife, help everybody that was part of the church we were in at the time, and man, we saw so much breakthrough. So Ezekiel 22, 30 says, I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap for me, before me, but I found no one. Tonight, God must not say that about us. Some people think a watchman is exposure ministry, and it's not. A true watchman is a prophetic intercessor. A true watchman is someone who labors and travails in the Spirit and prays for people and cries for people. That's a true watchman. And there's three levels of intercession. Number one, personal intercession. Praying for your own heart. Purity, discipline, and alignment, like I said earlier. Right? Lord, let nothing in me disrespect you. Make my heart like your heart. Make me hate what you hate. Love what you love. Right? Number two, priestly intercession for others. Praying over your spouse, children, your spiritual sons, daughters, brothers and sisters, leaders. That's a big one. Leaders, your church. Instead of gossiping about your leadership and how they can do this better

or that better or your brothers and sisters in your church, start interceding. Everyone has an opinion, but not a lot of people intercede. In my personal opinion, that's what separates a baby Christian from a mature Christian. A baby Christian has a lot of opinions and discernment, but no resolution or action. Mature Christians, no, because they've already been through that stage. It does nothing. So now they intercede instead of speaking to other people to see things get done. And they actually help God instead of hurting the body. Right? The vision is showing discord amongst brethren is an abomination of the Lord. Stop showing discord and start praying and interceding. Right? So, Lord, cover them. Bring them back. Awaken them. Break what blinds them in Jesus' name. Right? Number three is prophetic intercession. Praying not only based on need, but based on what heaven desires to release. So you can prophetically pray over a church that you're not even part of because Holy Spirit has shown you through a dream vision or just prayer what he wants you to pray for that specific church. That's happened to me. I prayed for pastors, evangelists, churches, regions, cities, states, countries, according to the desire of heaven because God showed me dreams. He showed me dreams of kids being sex trafficked in specific cities.

I remember I had a dream of kids being sex trafficked in New York City and the Father had me praying for kids in New York City. I was interceding. Right? Here's an example of a prayer. Father, your kingdom come here. Your will be done in their life as it is in heaven. Right? Or, God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you bring all darkness to light in New York City when it comes to sex trafficking. Restore all these children back to their families. Save their souls. May powerful testimonies be birthed to expose more of it around the world in Jesus' name. Right? You're praying, you're interceding according to the Father's heart even though you don't even know these people or the people in that city or region or church or whatever. So you pray from revelation, not just from observation. And God can actually give you revelation about someone in your church or in your family. I've seen that too myself where I don't know certain things are going on and the Lord shows me, okay, that this is going on in their life. I need you to intercede. Amen? So, section six, the heart posture of an intercessor. A real priest prays without timeline pressure, without fleshy irritation, and without self-centered motives. I have a prayer list. It's my prophetic intercessory list, my personal one.

We have a corporate one here at The Rock that we all pray as leaders and as a church here in Central Florida. And my own private one I have, man, I probably have like 50 to 60 petitions. It takes me an hour to get through my list, but I intercede prophetically and I write it down so I remember it. So I'll read it, and then after I read it, just flow in the spirit about it and then go to the next spot. That's why it takes me about an hour. And it's powerful, and I enjoy it. I love it. So, again, you cannot intercede with offense in your heart, and you can't intercede with bitterness in your heart. So you got to release those things if you're praying for someone that hurts you. You got to be real with God, release it, ask Holy Spirit to help you. Once you have peace about the situation in person, begin to intercede. The enemy is not people. It's the enemy, the devil, the demonic kingdom. We don't wrestle against flesh and blood. So your heart has to be on that. You have to really realize that and see the person rightly through the lens of love, through the lens of God. Forgiveness precedes intercession. Love sustains intercession. Faith strengthens intercession, and the Holy Spirit leads intercession. Before I carry someone to the altar, I have to lay down my opinion of them. So important. And you have heaven's backing. As a priest, you literally have heaven's backing. Because of Jesus, you don't intercede with fear. You intercede with legal authority.

Romans 8, 31. He is at the right hand of God, also making intercession for us. Hebrews 7, 25. He always lives to make intercession. So you're not interceding alone. You are echoing the prayers Christ is already praying in heaven. You're aligning with his will. Intercession is when earth agrees with heaven's cry. The priest gives God legal reason to intervene. When you pray, God is able to move. He's not going to go against his word. He can only give what people ask. It's a spiritual law. So the minute you go and say, God, I ask he's got like the, according to the word you receive. So when you're asking for God to move, he, he intercedes, he intervenes. That's why even with evangelism, it's so important when you go reach the lost and you pray for someone, you might need to write down their name on your prayer list and go intercede for them later. I do that regularly too. And I'm Holy spirit will tell me, I want you to pray prophetically intercede for this person 30 times, put the number 30 and on my prayer list, I'll have 30 next to an intercession. And each time I pray, I'll mark one and then I'll put two until I get to that, that, that 30 piece, that 30 times. It might take me a month or a month and a half, and then I'll erase it. And I know that I prayed according to how many times the Holy spirit wanted me to. And man, me and my wife have been doing that for years and we've seen God supernaturally confirm the importance of that prayer we paid, prayed for people who have left the church and went to the world, you know, and the Holy spirit

would tell us, put a hundred, put it a hundred times on your prayer list. And we pray a hundred times and it might take four or five months, but then finally on the a hundred, the minute we've seen it so many times on the a hundredth time, once we finish it, the day of someone will come back to the church and that's happened so many times in different ways where God confirms it. So we know Holy spirit is moving. When we intercede, just ask them, you know, heaven responds, where priests stand in the gap. Amen. So hear me guys, family. Don't just pray because they're struggling. Pray until they're free. Don't just pray because they're lost. Pray until they're found. Don't just pray because they're sick. Pray until they're healed. Don't just pray because they're drifting away. Pray until they're burning again. Priestly intercession is not about quick prayers. It's about persistent pursuit. So my brothers and my sisters, I want you guys to repeat out loud. I will not watch people fall. I will stand in the gap. Say, say that out loud. Say I intercede with compassion, not frustration. Say heaven backs me when I pray. Say I carry souls to the altar until chains break. Say I intercede with the heart of Jesus and the authority of his blood. And say, I will stand between destruction and destiny in Jesus's name. So father raise up priests today in this course, Lord, who are watching

it, who will carry the burden of heaven with joy. Give us your heart for the people. Teach us to stand in the gap with power and persistence, break selfishness, gossip and passivity, birth, compassion, faith, and authority in our intercession. Let every prayer we release align with Jesus's intercession for the saints and may lives change because we choose to stand between them and Jesus's name. Amen.
