Part 6- Loving Your Husband & Children: Covenant Love at Home
Part 6 of 8
This course is a quiet call back to what God always intended… the beauty, strength, and sacred responsibility of biblical womanhood. Woman of the Word isn’t about striving—it’s about letting God, through His Word, shape you into the woman He’s already called you to be—marked by reverence, purity, and wisdom. As you journey through each lesson, your words, heart, and actions will reflect His truth. You’ll grow into a woman who lives the Word, nurtures others, and reflects Christ in every part of life, honoring Him in both seen and unseen moments.
Welcome back everyone to part six of the woman of the word we have gone on this journey on how to become a woman of the word we have done part one through part five in part one we spoke about how to be reverent in behavior in part two we spoke about how to not be slanderers part three not giving too much wine part four to be teachers of good things and part five we talked about what it means to be a spiritual mother to admonish the younger woman by bringing them to soundness of mind through gentleness presence and wisdom and today we come home literally because paul says that the first place a woman of the word loves well is right in her own house now i want to talk about the part in titus chapter 2 verse 3 to 5 when paul talks about the older woman should love their husbands and love their children you will find that in titus chapter 2 verse 4 and what this means is paul uses the specific greek word here philandros and it's affectionate tender devotion to a husband rooted in friendship and genuine warmth not just saying not just fulfilling a role genuine warm love and affection and philotechnos is the other word and it's to delight in your children the word delight matters here holy parenting is not only correction scheduling and survival it is delight it is genuinely enjoying the people god gave you the holy spirit can rekindle warmth where routine has dual tenderness when it comes to philandros when it comes to that love for your husband if you've been feeling that there's no warmth in your marriage the holy spirit can really rekindle that love and where routine has dual tenderness in your marriage he can restore that he can restore what years of difficulty disappointment and distance have worn down loving a marriage and in a family is not just a feeling it is a daily decision fueled by the spirit of the lord a woman of the word honors her husband in public and intercedes for him in private she speaks identity and scripture into her children in the middle of ordinary everyday moments you do not want to just only be in public and dishonor your husband in public you want to honor your husband in public and you want to pray for your husband in private that is very essential and key when it comes to a marriage is that you labor and pray for your husband in private and in public you honor them and if you remember in part one we were talking about being irreverent in behavior and i spoke about how when you are with your husband and you're having a conversation with someone you do not have to be the the one that's speaking above him and not allowing him to speak that is a way of dishonor to your husband a woman who just loves her children will teach her children in the middle of ordinary everyday moments they delight in offspring they a woman who loves their children delights in offspring think about something that you delight in
delight in chocolate cake a delight is something that you're making sure you're savoring every moment of that delight right something that you don't usually get and you're delighting in it right this is how we're supposed to look at taking care and loving our children is the light in them the light in offspring the proverbs 31 woman is a powerful example of this people often focus on her business and her work ethic but look at what proverbs 31 chapter 11 verse 12 says the heart of her husband safely trust her so he shall have no lack of gain she does him good and not evil all the days of her life and the verse 27 to 28 says she watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness her children rise up and call her bless her husband also and he praises her her husband trust her her children bless her did you hear that part her husband trust her and her children bless her that does not happen by accident it is built through thousands of small faithful daily decisions to choose love even when the feeling is not there even when the feeling is not there you choose love you choose warmth you choose comfort you choose delighting in your offspring you choose teaching them the right things you don't have to scream for you to get your point across you don't have to manipulate your husband to get your point across but you love them genuinely from a place of friendship of devotion right and if just feels like a routine right now go to the holy spirit ask the holy spirit to help break that routine in your marriage the holy spirit does not want you to have routine in your marriage this should not feel like a routine this should feel like this is the man that i love this is the man that god has put me with this is the man that is my best friend and if you are single and you're watching this don't just say this is not for me you should desire to have a husband because god said for us to be fruitful and multiply and we're gonna have our one in the flesh right god talks about the man and a woman becoming one in the flesh in the bible you should desire hire to be a woman who is a helpmate to a husband. This is going to help you so much on how to become a woman of the word when it comes to loving your husband and children. A woman who does this honors her husband in public and intercedes for him in private. And like I said, she speaks identity and scripture into her children's daily life
and she chooses love as a decision even when the feeling is not there. Even when the feeling is not there, you choose love. Even if your husband says something wrong, you choose love as a decision. Even if your child is acting out, you choose love. A woman who doesn't do this publicly mocks or privately competes for her husband. Do not be the one who privately competes with your husband or publicly mocks with your husband. So if that is you, I am not here to condemn you. This is just to bring you higher, to a higher awareness. And for you to change, just go to the Lord and ask the Lord to heal that part of you. A woman who doesn't do this, parents through fear or frustration and her children feel managed rather than delighted in. You ever been around a family member, a mom, father, aunt, whoever raised you and you just feel like they're being a drill sergeant, you're just being instructed, don't do this, do that, do this, do that. You don't wanna teach your kids that. You wanna teach your kids that you delight in them, that you enjoy taking care of them, you enjoy cooking the dinner, you enjoy putting the food on the table, you enjoy taking them a bath, you enjoy putting their clothes on, you enjoy reading them the Bible,
you enjoy worshiping with them, you enjoy going to an arcade and playing with them, you enjoy taking care of them so they don't feel like they're a burden to you. This is the question I want you to leave with. What one simple act today can slowly show loyalty rather than complain? What can you do to show loyalty rather than complain to both your husband and your children? And let me leave you here with a prayer. So Father, thank you that every single person that's watching, whether they're married right now or they will be married in the future, you're going to remind them of philandros, the love that they're supposed to have for their husbands and their children, Lord. Renew their affection that marries your covenant love where tenderness has grown cold. Rekindle your spirit, rekindle it by your spirit. Teach them to delight in children the way you delight in them, Lord. You delight in them so much, Lord. Teach them how to be just like you. Teach them to honor their husbands as an act of trust in your order and your plan. And let their home be the first place where love is visible every single time. In Jesus' name, amen. God bless you, and I will catch you in part seven of the Woman of the Word series.
