I'll be a winner at work if I do these certain things, if I hit this promotion, this thing. We define it as outcomes. What is the biblical word for outcome? The answer is fruit. The fruit is the outcome of the work of a plant. And if you say, well, what is the fruit that Jesus wants from us? He gives us a very clear answer, Galatians 5. But the fruit of the Spirit, what He wants you to produce as you follow Him is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. In other words, if these are the things that are produced as you work, there is no other requirement, no other law that you are meant to fulfill. You have to give Him the outcomes and then He'll give you the rest. You can't wear them on your back.
