How to Trust God When Nothing is Changing
because it's not me, it's not me, it is God. Thank you for my sword. I know how to use this sword. I will take down any demon, any devil with my sword. Where's your sword? Do you have your sword? I'm so excited for this word. Hey, we're in a series right now. It is week five of a series called the consecrated life, the consecrated life. Have you enjoyed the series so far? Hasn't it been good? I think God is preparing us for what he has next and I'm excited about that. It is week five and we've been reading a lot of the Bible who believes in the Bible. Come on, it's his church. We've got to read the Bible, the B.I.B. early. Yes, that's the book for me. I stand alone on the word of God, the B.I. Oh, we've got some real Christians in here. Because of all school Christians. All right, let me ask you this question. Do you know what Bible B.I.B. early stands for? Basics instructions before leaving earth. Yeah, it's the basic instructions before leaving earth. That means watch this. If you don't get the basic instructions right before leaving earth, then you may end up at the wrong destination. So we want to make sure we make it to heaven and anyone a little hot in here and a little hot in here. It's not menopause or menopause. It's because the air conditioning isn't working, but we love the school and they're on their way to fix it. So good news is, hell is hotter. Yes, it is. So give your life to Jesus at the end so you don't end up in a place without air. Here's the Bible. Joshua chapter one. If someone could just thank scary, just come and listen to that speaker. It's just got a little buzz on it. That'd be amazing. Joshua chapter one, we're reading from verse seven says this and read it out loud. It says, "Be strong and very courageous." And God says, "Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you." So when God says you got to obey all the law, does he mean some or all? If you obey all that God gave you, don't turn to the right, don't turn to the left. That you may be successful wherever you go. And here's how he says you get success. You got to keep this word, the book of the law, the B-I-B-L-E, and keep this sometimes on your lips. No, keep it what? Yeah, keep it always on your lips because the miracle is in your mouth. Life and death are in the power of your, this is why we say talk back in church. Because when you face a situation, you don't say pastor Terence says, no, no, no, God is going to watch over your word, his word in your mouth. So you got to get God's word in your mouth and that's why we say the miracle is in your mouth. So we want you to shout out when we say be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. The reason why we actually almost fell into this series by accident, because we came out of 10 days of prayer and fasting and we realized that God
consecrated our life. And after doing one week of it, we realized that consecration is not just an event, but consecration really is a lifestyle. Someone say lifestyle. It's a lifestyle. Write this down for those taking notes and for those who want to go to heaven. Consecration means to be set apart, means to be set apart. So I think the big question is, well, what sets us apart? What exactly? Well, we just read it just then that God says he's word. If we meditate on it, if we're careful to obey, it will set us apart. And we don't just meditate on the daytime. We meditate day and that's why we sing this song. ♪ Day and night, night and day let. ♪ So our prayer is out meditating on the word is like incense reaching heaven. And then prayer becomes an earthly license for heavenly intervention. This is when when we pray and when we praise, God shows up. And that's why we've been reading a lot of word and because God doesn't just watch over any word, God watches over his word. And so we've been doing this because we believe, as we've been reading Joshua, we've seen that God said to Joshua, you consecrate today and then tomorrow you'll cross this river Jordan and then you're going to go and take a city. This is what this represents us taking a city and it's a fortified city. You don't just take the city without a fight. What God has given to you is going to require faith. Someone say fight. So that's why we've been singing this song. Walked around Jericho and the walls came down on the, because we walked, we walked, and the walls, the walls must fall. See, it's not the fault just because you're singing already. Come on now. We walked, I won't do it. We walked around these walls not once, not twice, but actually it was more than that because it was six days and the seventh day they walked seven times. So this reason, God was doing something in them as they were walking and learning obedience because a prepared place requires a prepared people. If you put a unprepared people in a prepared place, soon the prepared place starts to look like the unprepared people. So God is preparing us as he consecrates us. And this is important because write this down and it's gonna come up, take a photo.
God prepared Canaan land, the promised land for Israel, but at the same time God had to prepare Israel for Canaan. So God is preparing you because he's taking you out of Egypt but now he has to get Egypt out of you. And I say this to say because some of you, what's this? You've been asking God, God, why haven't you answered my prayers yet? Why haven't I got the house that I'm believing for? Why haven't I got the partner that I'm believing for? Why haven't I got the breakthrough unbelieving? But I believe that maybe God is saying I'm preparing you for what I've prepared for you. That's called consecration. God says I'm preparing you for what I've prepared for you. And so we've had about seven movements of consecration that we've learned as we've studied the book of Joshua. And I wanna show you these for those who missed a few weeks and who are new here today. And also as a little bit of remembering. Number one, consecration, God said to Joshua, consecrate yourself today for tomorrow I will help you cross this River Jordan which was not an easy thing to cross 'cause it was at flood stage. It was harder to cross. I don't know what's hard in your life right now. It's to get over this mountain of death. It's to get over the fact that someone hurt you or left you or stole from you. God's saying if you consecrate today,
tomorrow God is gonna work on your behalf. And we made a prophetic declaration that tomorrow is today. It is your day today because you have consecrated yourself. And so once you do that, you're crossing from the old thing into the new thing. That's gonna require two things. Number one, it's gonna require cutting. Someone say cut. Consecration means God's cutting off the sin. He's cutting off the weights that hold you from soaring up on wings like eagles into places that he has called you. And so once you cut, you release certain things so that you can pick up and carry certain things. God wants to carry his presence. He wants you to carry your part in his story. And as we're gonna focus on today, but ultimately we cut and we carry so we can conquer a city. Someone say conquer. We're gonna conquer. Now in this conquering, please don't get mistaken. This is not something that you are doing on your own. When Jesus sent out the disciples, he didn't send 'em one by one. He sent 'em two by two. God has always been about a co-mission. God does nothing alone. In fact, God doesn't even exist alone. He is three in one.
So if relationship is what God exists in how much more for you and I. See, consecration will help you draw the line, but only a community will help you hold the line. And so God's sending you on a co-mission for this reason that ultimately Christ might be formed in each of us. And God wants to actually look like Jesus Christ so that you can get into heaven because the only access to heaven is the blood of Jesus. Amen? Here's what we learned last week. I stole someone's red jacket from here. In one service, a red jacket from back there because there was a lady who was on these walls and in a house, she hung out something out of her house. It was from, it was what? A red thing, it was called a what? A scarlet cord. And in the window, which is on the wall, from the window? Don't sing it, don't sing it. I didn't know that song until I read the lyrics and then I'm like, sweet Lord Jesus. These people need Jesus in this congregation. And so she hung a scarlet cord. Now here's what's this? They walked around the walls seven times. The walls came down on there. Because we walked, it's high, we walked. And the walls, the walls must. So if the walls fell and her house was on the wall,
why didn't her house fall? You know why didn't it fall? Because she was covered by the blood, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm covered by the blood. I'm covered by the blood. Yeah, yeah, no devil in hell can't stop me. I'm covered by the blood. I did good, huh? You got to be covered by the blood because a thousand may fall at your side. Ten thousand at your right, but it won't come near your house if you are covered by the, yeah, that's why in the Old Testament they put the blood of the lamb over the door post of their home. You might be coming here to church and think, well it's kind of gruesome covered by the blood. I mean, I don't be covered by blood. See, unless it's Jesus blood. That someone paid the price that I should have paid. It Jesus Christ. He hung on that cross 2,000 years ago, and the Bible says that his blood fell on the earth. When God created Adam and Eve, he created them from the earth. So when that blood fell, it reversed the curse that Adam and Eve did when they desecrated what God consecrated. God said, "Do not touch that tree, don't touch that sacred, don't touch that consecrated thing." And because of sin, we all fell. But there is a second Adam, his name is Jesus Christ, and in a second garden, the Bible said, "He said, 'Not my will, but your will be done, and Jesus redeemed, and resurrected,
and reversed the curse." Anyone grateful for the blood of Jesus Christ? I'm so thankful. And so last week, we're talking about cut, right this, you'll never conquer what you're unwilling to cut. You will never conquer what you're unwilling to cut. You've got to cut those things that you've been cutting you off from the presence of God. You'll also never conquer what you're unwilling to consecrate. And so my question to you is, from last week, what do you need to cut and keep cut? I don't know about you, but I shave this beard almost every second day. I shave it, not because I'm trying to just keep the mustache, because Emma likes the stash. Come on, that's all we have for children. She likes this chocolate. Yes, she does with the little dark chocolate pieces here. She loves her chocolate. I cut this beard because it's got some little white bits grown in there. But who knows when you cut it, it grows back. I'm not a green thumb, but my garden at home, when I cut it, a few days later, South Florida, the grass, what happens? It starts to grow again. I tell you certain things you've cut off, but you've got to keep cutting them off because consecration is not an event. Consecration is a lifestyle. It's a lifestyle. So God this week wants to show us, not only do you want you to cut, but I need you to carry now something, because you've let go of something now you can carry. And here's what he says, be strong and very courageous. Someone move your feet. It takes courage to move those feet.
It takes courage to walk around those walls one time, and well, nothing's happened. The wall hasn't fallen. It takes courage to walk a second lap. It takes courage to forgive again. It takes courage to give again. It takes courage to trust again when your trust has been broken. And I want to tell you, carry by faith what God wants for you. Because if you don't walk around these walls, the walls don't fall. And if the walls don't fall, there's someone in this city with a scarlet cord hanging out of it. That's not just important to you and your future, but it's important. She's important to God. Because out of the lineage of Rahab we saw last week came someone very special, what was his name? Jesus. Jesus came. And this is why we need to walk, because if we don't walk, walls don't fall, if Rahab doesn't come out, we don't get Jesus. So if last week was cut, this week is carry with care. Cut, let's pop it on the screen, there's something you can't carry, then carry, there's something you must carry, but you've got to carry it with courage so that you can conquer. Someone say conquer. He's my big idea today. So someone asks you, what was the message about? You say consecration is not just about what you put down. Consecration is about what you pick up. It's about what you pick up. And you've got to pick up the right thing. You've got to carry the right thing. If you don't think consecration is about what you pick up, we'll ask the 2 million people
who actually, it's a little treble if we can, the 2 million people watch this, who believed, picked up the lies and the unbelief of the 10 spies. And instead of walking into the Promised Land into what God wanted for them, where do they walk? They said, we would rather go back into slavery. Hang on, because you picked up what they were dropping down, those 10 spies who didn't carry faith, you really want to go back to where Pharaoh was taking your daughters. You really want to go back to where Pharaoh was making your sons' eunuchs and cutting them in a way. You really want to go back to that? Hey, if you don't pick up the right things, you're going to listen to the 10 spies and you will advocate your destiny because you're not listening to the voice of God. So that's why this is important that we know what to pick up. And so cut is that God wants to get certain things out of your life because if you don't, the Bible says that those 12 spies went into the land, 10 said we can, 10 said we can't. Because they believe the 10 spies, watch this, for 40 days they explored this land. And it's like, yeah, it's got grapes, it's got watermelon, it's got lots of bustle, it's got everything we want. So for 40 days they came back and then they told the people. It's flowing with milk and honey, but guess what? There's giants and we can't take the giants. And for every day of disobedience, God said you've got 10 years, a whole decade of wandering into wilderness. Well, watch this because disobedience will turn days into decades. Disabedience turns days into decades, and I actually believe it's the grace of God to leave them in the wilderness,
so they could die a natural death, 40 years, versus if God had let them go into that city, they would have died by the giants and died by the sort of very gruesome death. And I want to tell you, faith is what makes you conquer a city. You've got to pick up faith. You've got to pick up obedience because disobedience will turn days into decades. Someone say cut, cut the disobedience, cut the lack of faith because God wants to take you into a city. So Joshua 5 is where we landed last week where God said cut, they actually circumcised themselves, but God did let them heal before he took them into the city because the men who had come out of Egypt had not yet been circumcised. You're tracking? So Joshua 5 is cut. Joshua 6 is carry because everyone has a part. Everyone has a part. So let's pick it up in Joshua 6. Joshua 6. Have the seven priests carry trumpets of Rams horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, I need you to march around the city, not five, not six, but seven times. Are the priests blowing the trumpets?
So shh, don't do anything for the first, second and six days. But on the seventh day, you better blow that trumpet. And when you hear the sound of a long blast on the trumpet, (imitates trumpet) Come on, you make a trumpet sound with me. One, two, three. Oh, I don't know what that was. But I'm glad you participated. I'm so grateful. You make a sound and have the homie then give a loud shout. Let me hear your loud shout. (audience cheering) That's what the shout is because when you shout walls fall and walls need to fall so people can walk out of the depression, anxiety, and the prison that they have been in. And this is why we say, I'm covered by the blood. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you got a shout. I'm covered by the blood. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, 'cause when you shout walls come down, God is asking you to participate in the miracle. And so I've read that and I thought, okay, this is what they've got. They got trumpets and they carried the presence of God. So everyone had a shout,
had a trumpet and they had the presence of God and I thought that was it. And then I backed it up a little bit and read Joshua 6, but I started at verse one and I realized they were carrying more than I thought. Watch this, it says, "Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred "because of the Israelites." So all these people here in Canaan land, the Canaanites heard what God did for the Israelites, that He let them through the Red Sea. He kept them in the wilderness for 40 years. And then He also allowed them to cross through the river Jordan so they're like man, God is fighting for them, pushing back the darkness, lining up the kingdom. God is fighting for them. So that means they were so scared. The Bible said, "No one went out and no one came in." Verse two says, "And the Lord said to Joshua, "See, listen, Joshua, I have delivered Jericho "into your hands along with the King and its fighting man." So all you have to do to participate in the miracle is you march, come on, move those feet. You just gotta, that sounds like a mighty army. I've never keep going, keep going, everyone. Now imagine you're in the city, don't stop, and you hear that noise, louder. Like, if I'm hearing that Sunday,
if I'm hearing that Monday and I'm already scared, I don't know about something about that, but it's scary. And so you go to march and you think your march, keep going, is just obedience. But on the other side, you know what Rahab's hearing? Not obedience, she's hearing, deliverance. Deliverance is coming. Deliverance is coming. Deliverance is coming. Come on, cup your hands if you know deliverance is coming and deliverance is coming from the Lord. It's coming from the Lord. And the Lord said to Joshua on the screen, "See, I've delivered Jericho into your hands "along with the King and the fighting man. "I thought they're gonna take fighting man "just with a shout." But he said, "No, no, verse three, "March around the city once with all the armed men. "Bring me a sword, bring me my sword." 'Cause I ain't gonna walk around this city unless I have something when I face these fighting men, I'm gonna need my sword. You know what the Bible says the sword is? Corinna, tell him to bring my sword. I need the sword because I need my sword because I'm not going in the battle without the word of God because it's not me, it's not me, it is God. Thank you for my sword.
I know how to use this sword. I will take down any demon, any devil with my sword. Where's your sword? Do you have your sword? Do you know how to use this sword? That was pretty good, huh? I know how to use this sword. Do you know how to use your sword? Because the Bible says the word of God is a double-edged. You've got to use it against the enemy. But sometimes God will use the word to cut you and cut out every cancer and every unbelief that you have because you cannot conquer unless he cuts you and unless you carry the word of God. Happy hands, if one claps, we all clapped. (audience applauding) And so this brings me to my full title, keep walking. I know you haven't seen the deliverance yet, but keep walking. Keep walking, don't stop on lap six. Don't stop on Saturday because Sunday's coming. Oh, if they gave up on God and six and thought he's in the grave. Don't stop on six, someone say don't stop. Come on, touch six people, six people, six people. Don't stop, don't stop on six, come on six people. Don't stop on six, don't stop on six, don't stop on six. Come on, touch six people. You might have to get out your chair, don't stop on six. Don't stop on six, seven's coming, the seven left is coming.
Don't stop on six, the seven's coming. Don't stop, don't stop, don't stop. See, some of you stop short of your promise right there. Don't stop on six because seven's coming. You gotta, see, six must always find its way to six, seven. Six, seven. Six is the number of man, seven is the number of God. Don't stop on six, don't stop on what you can do. Don't stop on your strength, six must find its way to seven. Seven is where we get to heaven. Name and dip six times on the seventh time. Hey, Joshua, walk around the walls, six times, but on the seventh time is when the walls, don't stop on six because seven is where we experience heaven. Everyone was carrying something, someone carried it. Arc, someone carried a trumpet, someone carried a weapon, someone was in front, someone was in behind. God says, I'm gonna do the miracle, but I want you to participate. It's a co-mission, someone say co-mission. The reason why we know it's a co-mission is because they carried something which is the ark of God which represents the presence of God. Bring me my ark, bring me the ark. I need the ark of God because without the presence of God, I am nothing. This is why when Moses was here, he's actually in the wilderness. And God says, I need you to set my people free over there in Egypt, in slavery.
And Moses says, hey, God, I tried to do it in my own strength, I end up killing someone. Now they're after me, I'm a fugitive. But God says, listen, go. And he says, my presence is gonna go with you. And Moses says, do not send me unless your presence goes with me. Put the presence right here in the middle. We need the presence of God. I'm grateful for the presence of God. The Bible says, nothing will distinguish me unless it's the presence of God. This guy, my wife compares me to him, says you're not as big and strong as Evan Elle. Praise the Lord. But as big and strong as he is, you know what separates him from everyone else? He carries the presence of God. This is a man who's that worshipper. He carries the presence of God. Justin, when I met this man, he wasn't a man. He was a boy. Six years ago, he was a boy. He would sit in music rehearsal, just sitting on his phone. Am I Justin? There is a man inside of you. He encounters the presence of God. He is, you might look timid when you meet him. He might look cool and swab and come, I'm Justin.
You know, like, he cool. He got the swag, but let him get a microphone and let him bring in the presence of God and he slays demons on your behalf. This is what it looks like. I'm covered by the blood. I'm covered by the blood. I'm covered by the blood, yeah. March, March, yeah. 'Cause no devil in hell can stop me. I'm covered by the blood. Yeah, come on, come on, you're covered by the blood. Come on, man, thank God for these mighty men. You need the presence of God and the reason why I have to put the presence of God in the middle of this thing is because they participated in his presence. Now listen, my participation isn't what produced the power. My walking around these walls is not what made the walls fall. It's a fact that I wasn't walking alone. His presence is with me. So my participation doesn't bring the power, but it does position me for his power to come upon me so I can fulfill his purpose. We need the presence of God in our life. And once you have the presence, I'm assuming that you've got that three things I wanna give you today that you must carry with care Three things, you gotta carry with care in order to conquer the cities, the promised land.
What does God promise you? It is breakthrough, healing, mental breakthrough, blessing financially, blessing relationally. Whatever God has promised you, it's a promised land. But you'll never conquer it if you don't carry these three things. And listen, two million people did not get in. I don't want you to be like that. I want you to be like only two, do you know only two people who got the promise went in, Joshua and Caleb, he had a different spirit. I wanna show you three things you need to carry with a different spirit in order to take your promised land. Right this down is number one. Number one, your time, your time. Can I get a little um, washer up here? Thank you, your time. Joshua chapter six, verse two says this. Then the Lord God, thank you so much. It's getting, what is wrong with you people? I just said it's getting hot. Joshua chapter six says, keep it on sir, keep it on. You know who I'm talking about. Then the Lord said the Joshua, see, someone say see. Hey, you need to open your eyes in order to see. But God's not necessarily talking about your physical eyes. Can I tell you, sight is what you see with your eyes open. Vision is what you see with your eyes closed. Have you got a God vision? No matter what happens in your world,
I may not have seen it yet with my eyes, but I'm gonna believe it because God said it. See, this is what God spoke to us. Back in October of November, 2014. Oh yeah, yeah, we're fasting and praying, but I haven't seen it yet, but because God said it, I'm gonna keep my eyes open. See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands. Doesn't look like a God, because I can see a fortified city is what I see. I see walls, God says I see a wind. No, no, all I see is a wall will keep walking. And how many times did God say I've delivered Jericho in your hands, march around the city once with the Amen, and do this for how many days? How many days? Six. Put the scripture up, help them. Some people need some help. Seven yes, but march around for how many times, days? Six. If I march around on Sunday, see some of you complain 'cause the service goes for a little bit longer than you expected. It's costing you something to be here. It's called your time. But God's trying to consecrate your time. Because you'll spend a whole lot more watching Netflix series. You'll spend a whole lot more doing a whole lot of things,
but I'm not preaching to the choir. Give yourselves a round of applause, you made it here. You're the ones who get it, you get it. But what happens when I've walked around the walls on Sunday, I've walked around on Monday, I walked around Tuesday, I walked around Wednesday, I walked around Thursday, I walked around Friday, I walked around these walls and nothing's happened. You prayed and you still haven't seen the answer to your prayers. You gave God wears my house because you said if I build your house, you'll build my, God wears, you forgave God wears my peace. 'Cause I'm still feeling every type of angry, you don't know what they did to me, that you don't know how they betrayed me. God, I showed up, why is there nothing? I came to daughters and you told me to write down this time next year and I heard about their testimony. What about my testimony? I know you've done it, you've walked around, you've given God your time. God, I invested my time, where's my miracle? And I want to encourage you that you've been obedient, but everything obedient takes a while before you see it as productive. Because there's seed, time and then harvest. Don't give up on the seed, just give it some more time. Give it some more time because God's working. Come on, someone say let him cook.
He's cooking and the chef's cooking the meal. You don't want to microwave meal, what God is doing is a crock pot God. What he's doing is gonna be so tasteful. That's why he said you're the salt of the earth in a tasteless world, let God cook. Let him put some sazan on it. Come on, let him put some seasoning on it. You need that jerk chicken to taste good. You need those rice and beans and croquette does and whatever you guys eat. Come on, what do the Haitians eat? That porky stuff, yeah. You need some seasoning, you gotta give it some time. Give it some time. Can I tell you, because what feels like simple obedience to you is actually deliverance to someone else. And so let me illustrate it like this, really, if I can. You think you're just parking cars. You think I'm just waving at someone as they walk in, but you don't know that you're the first smile that someone saw when they nearly didn't come to church. And they were giving God not their first chance, but their last chance, but then they saw Miguel. Come on, and then they saw Manny. Come on, everyone's seeing these guys outside doing this. Come on, yeah. So he's got to trumpet and he's walking around the walls. Not one time, he's walking. well, I've walked around on one time, God, it hasn't worked.
Well, keep walking, don't stop walking, don't stop walking. Miguel, you were slow, but you made it, come on, keep walking. Come on, who loves Miguel and Manny? Okay, so I've walked around the world one time, wait over here now. Nothing's happened, but I want you to keep walking. What you may not know is that two Easter's ago, there was a lady who came to our church and that lady actually was a sex worker, so she had a pimp and she couldn't get out of the lifestyle, she had kids. She comes to Easter because you guys support through History Maker's Church, an organization that rescues women from the sex industry. And so, yeah, give yourselves a round of applause. So she comes, she comes to our church and her kids go to History Maker's kids and they're like, "Mommy, that was the best thing ever. Can we go back?" And she's like, "Yeah, I think we can," and she wants to come back and then Emma and I saw her at a fundraising dinner as we were raising money to help support more women like her. And here's what she said to me. She said, "Terrence, I came to your church. The kids wanted to go back. We didn't actually end up going back because my pimp got me and I wouldn't let me go and I'd be stuck." And we actually saw her in Louisville, Kentucky, but here's what she said to me. I know men, in fact, a man took something from me. This is why I'm stuck in what I'm stuck. And so I know how to use men, I know how to manipulate men, I know men through and through. And so every night I see men smiling at me and they're smiling and I know they just want something for me. And I came to your church because I'm driving up in that parking lot and at Car Park I see these men smiling at me and I know men smiling at me always want something for me, but those
men smiled at me and they wanted nothing from me. I know they wanted something for me and I want to tell you you think you're just giving your time. You don't know who's on the other end of that smile and on the other end of that wave. They might have got to church and fought all the way, but your smile breaks down walls. You think I'm just holding a door. You think those doors are just being held by people. You know you've got people who are doctors, you've got people who are lawyers, you've got people who are, but they hold the doors for you. You can come. This is some of them, two of them here. You think you are just holding a door, but you don't know who walked through that door needing your smile. And so we're grateful for you, Latoya. And so walked around these walls and walked around and I expect them to fall, but guess what? The walls didn't fall. And so I've given my time to you God. I serve every Sunday. Why is it not happening in my life? Well, I want to tell you, keep walking because you never know. Thank you guys can go this way now. They're awesome because you're walking around these walls and I heard from someone the other day there's a guy who walked through these doors and someone served him because he's been serving in church for years and felt burnt out. And every church he goes into, they're like just trying to use him and abuse him and use him for his gift. Like can I tell you, like if you don't use it, you will lose it. But there is a time where someone does on a rare occasion need to come in here and find some rest.
And I'm so grateful that you are the ones who hold the doors and make a way when they don't know where to sit and it's awkward. And everyone's worshiping and you don't think there's a seat. You don't know where to sit. Come on. I'm grateful for you guys serving and giving your time. You think I'm just checking in the kids or you're not just checking in the kids. You're creating in an environment for those mums and dads who are on their last straw. Come on, send them up. You are creating an environment where those mums and dads who are on their last straw. I'm not just holding a baby. Is this your own baby? Oh, that's a good looking baby. Oh, look, beautiful. Come on. You're walking around these walls and you've got a beautiful young mom. This is her second baby. Now you got this is the Agnes. Come on. We love Miss Agnes. How many, how many years young are you? 75. What are you doing with your life? Let me tell you what she's doing with her life. She holds those babies every, come on, if you're a parent raise your hand in here. If you're a parent. All right. Let's have some honest time right now. I remember we had our first child and Emma, she got mastitis. She got sick and there was a sea, not a sea section.
It was, I want to even, it's too graphic. Just stuff happened in the birth, 30 hour birth and it's a lot. And ever heard of personal, postnatal depression yet hit us. Some people don't even, their babies don't make it when mums suffer. So you think you're just holding a baby, but what you're doing is creating a place for parents who are about to give up. Your marriage is about to break up, but because you gave your time, we're so grateful for you. Thank you for walking around these walls. I'm feeling this. See, you think you're just leading, hey, come on, mama, walk around those walls. You are going to walk. I'm so proud of you. You got to walk. Someone say walk. are walking and giving off your time? Come on. I'm so proud of you. Kat McAllen the team. Look at all these group leaders. Amazing. Now listen, come here. Kat, what do you do for work? I'm an assistant principal. Okay, assistant principal. Yeah, it was a Tuesday night or Wednesday night. Tuesday night, I see you giving off your time. Not on a Sunday, but midweek. She's serving someone, and Kat comes, and as she served, how many ladies came to your group? About 30. About 30 ladies. Now listen, I popped into that group, and I was like, a whole lot of history. I'm crying. I don't know why. But I walked in that room, and I looked at all those ladies, and what's your group on? Suffering well, it's called the refining room. The refining room. Come on, I see you ladies. Come on. They're all right here. But here's my point. You think you're just leading a group, but you don't know. Keep walking, walk around those walls. Thank you, Kat, because as you're walking around those walls, you think you're just giving your time on a Tuesday night? You think you're just creating a group on a Saturday? But no, someone's marriage is on the other side of that consecrated time that you're carrying. You don't know the marriage that's about to break up if that lady does not know how to persevere and not give up on God because
God has not given up on her. You don't know that there's an addiction behind that wall waiting for you to speak life into that addiction and that person's about to suffer if you don't do what you do. There is loneliness behind that wall. This is why you need to walk. Come on. Who else we got there? All right, youth. Come on. Give it up for our youth team. Our youth team. All right, we got Kai and we got Scooter. Come on, Dennis, come up here. I know you're not youth, but walk around those walls. You're anointed. You're carrying the trumpets. In fact, this is Dennis and this is Scooter. He also serves on a set up and packed down team. Thank God for our set up and packed down team. And so you're walking around these walls. You come and you serve on a Sunday. And so what you may not know is because before Dennis came, there were other people like Daniel on the set up and packed down team. There were other people like PJ on the set up and packed down team. Now listen, because you walked and consecrated your time and say, God, my time's not mine. It's yours. Whatever. Whenever. However, I'm giving it to you, God, you don't know that this man was suffering with such addiction. Couldn't let go of the bottle of the alcohol to the point where his wife was like, I'm done. It's very true. It's very true. He told his testimony. Am I telling his business? Three daughters. Can't even look at him. Lost respect for him. But this man comes in the house of God. He gets connected in a place where someone's running a freedom group. He starts serving on a team where people bring life. And this man now has life. And he's not just God consecrating something in him, but God is now consecrating people through him. This is what a consecrated life looks like. And because he had to walk through the fire, he now listen, gets to hang out with scooter. Look at these two men. Nowhere in our society do you see these two men getting to hang out. But because they decide I'm going to consecrate my time before the Lord, his had to walk through some fire. I've walked through some fire. Emma has walked through some fire. But because he had walked through it, now he can mentor this young man. Please don't make the same mistakes that I did. You give God your time right now. And because you walked, walls fall. Come on, clap your hands if you're grateful for people who've been walking, so walls fall. Come on, go stand over there. All right. Listen, Kai, serving on a Friday night. Oh, yeah, I'm walking around these walls and walk to all our youth team. See these youth leaders. They're not just walking around the wall. You know why you're doing this? Because I heard
a story this Friday night that there was a little girl. She grew up in church. Something happened in her life. She's about to give up on God. She actually was a self-proclaimed almost atheist, but she sees an Instagram post and she decides her auntie goes to this church and says you need to go check out history maker's youth. She comes there on a Friday night. On her birthday, she gives a speech and says I got baptized at history maker's church. I found Jesus and Jesus is more than enough. Why? Because someone carried their time in a consecrated way. Can I tell you, I don't believe that young people should be on drugs. I really don't, but I believe there's one drug they need. It's to be drug to church when they don't feel like it. Drug to youth when they want to go to another party. Parents, you drug you. I'm so grateful. Anyone grateful their parents drug them a church when they didn't feel like it, when they'd lost their senses. I'm so grateful for the parents. Give the parents a round of applause for bringing. Let the keys come. Let the keys come. Here's my point. Your consecration is not only about what God wants to do in you. Your consecration something through you and in Psalm 90 it says, "Teach us the number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Do you know we all get 24 hours in a day, 24 hours, and if you add up seven days that's 168 hours. Just spot the red sea a little bit so they can see that. 168 hours. If you are going to give a tithe of your time to God that equals 16 hours and 48 minutes. Now here's what I'm not saying. Don't get the stopwatch out and start and say, "God you got this much time, then I'm done. I'm out here." But I wonder if we could actually, God wants you to carry your time in a consecrated way. Because when you consecrate your time, walls fall and people walk out of prisons and bondage and you set people free. Because consecration is not just what God wants to do in you, consecration is what God wants to do through you. Amen. Amen. Play the keys. Play the keys. Come on, let's turn the keys on if we can off the back. Before Instagram gets my time, God gets my time. Before emails get my consecration, when my time is saying, "God, before I go to the throne, I'm going to the throne. I need God because I need His presence in my life. I'm covered by the blood." Yeah, yeah. Because I'm covered by the, I need the blood of Jesus. Come on. I'm covered by the blood. Come on, Dennis. No devil in hell can. Walked around Jericho seven times. Yeah, yeah. The walls came down on the seven time because we were, we were, we were, we were, we were again. The walls, which is the wall. Come on, three people. Come on. Walked around. Just three of you. Seven times, yeah, yeah, yeah. The walls came down on the seven time. Because we, come on, because we were,
we were, here we are, we were, yeah. And, come on. Walked around. Walked around. Two nights. Walked around three times. Walked around four times. Nothing happened. Walked around five times. Nothing, nothing. Walked around. Seven times. Come on. What happens? Okay. Wait over there. We walked, we walked, we walked. We walked, we walked. Sit in the walls. Sit in the walls. Sit in the walls. Oh, that's better than you're shouting right now. I didn't touch the walls. I just did my part to walk. You don't have to do this on your right foot. Go on some mountain too. Go on do it on your behalf. If you walk, walls fall. Come on, clap your hands. That's a great illustration. I'm so proud of that one. Come on, let's get these guys around them, of course. You can take your seat. This is what consecrated life looks like. Come on, clap your hands if they're gone. For these amazing people. I was away this week and we were at this conference and we were speaking and it was stressful because I was preparing thinking we're speaking to around a room like this, maybe 700 people. You know how many people were there? Two and a half thousand pastors and leaders and so I was not only stressed because of that and I would preach last week. I didn't have time to prepare but I was also stressed because I got a text and a few things were happening back here that weren't good and I'm stressed and I said well first of all I had seven minutes to preach and I put it up on my Instagram who believes I can do it in seven minutes and guess what? Oh ye of little faith. Oh you see I took screenshots of those who voted against me. Yeah I'm petty like that. You may not get a Christmas card this year but God's working on me. I'm covered by the blood so the blood's going to help me. You know Emmer and I went out to dinner that night and in fact when I get stressed I eat. Anyone's stressed eaters here so I didn't order one meal. I ordered two meals. I ordered the steak. I ordered the salmon and Emma ordered the shrimp. I said Emma I know you ordered that but I am that stressed right now please. Other people do all this stuff. I'm going to eat let me eat. So she let me eat. So I ate the steak half ate the salmon ate a few bits of her shrimp that I said hey listen Em, listen now you can eat. I'm not stressed anymore so I let her eat the leftovers after that. Yeah what a husband. But listen I obviously did not do that but I wonder how many of us do that with God. Oh God my time I'll do whatever I want. You know what I'll give you a little hour and a half on Sunday. Hey consecration is not what God wants to do in you. It's what he wants to do through you and some you need to to start giving God your first and your best, amen?
I believe that because the first sets the foundation. The first sets the foundation. It sets the frame. You know, they've got cameras up the back, and before they film, the first camera has to set the framing, and in fact, it does a thing called a white balance. A white meaning it goes on the white and says this is true white, and then every other camera follows that framing, and if it doesn't, then it's out. So if I sing like this, if I go, "What's the note? Walked by Jericho seven times. The walls came down on the floor." Because we were. We were. We were. Okay. He set the piano. So if he tries to change it. So I walked around Jericho seven times. The walls came down. Whoa. What happened? Oh, yeah, because what was first was not set. Let's go back to the right thing. Okay. Can I tell you your life sounds like a clanging symbol when God's not first? You got to put God first or what should be a sweet harmony and symphony turns into chaos. This is why God has to be first in my time because the first sets the foundation. If I move off the foundation, which was Jesus, he set the note I should play. God says in his word, "This is how you shall live." But if you move to the right, or if you move to the left, your life will not be a sweet sound fragrance in his ear.
Write this down as number two. Your time, then your talent. Someone say talent. You got to carry your talent in a consecrated way for you to conquer the city that God has for you. Talent. Listen. Joshua 6.8 says, "When he had spoken to the people, the seven priests were carrying the seven trumpets." Remember, you did your trumpet sound, get ready, your time is coming, okay? Before the Lord went forward, they were blowing their trumpets and they carried the ark of the covenant. It followed them. Then the arm guards marched ahead off the priest. They're ready for a fight and the priest who blew their trumpets were ready to go. And the rearguard followed the ark all this while the trumpets were sounding. Listen. Everyone is walking, Kai. One of them is playing that. One of them is playing that, Michael. One of them is playing the keys. Everyone has a part. What's this? A different part, but same mission. Some are the back with the sword. Some carrying the presence of God. And see, some of you don't play your part because you're comparing your part to theirs. Oh God. Why have I got this sword? I should have the presence of God.
I should be the one carrying that's most sacred. Listen. Don't give up on your part because you're comparing it to someone else. The part that you have is significant. This is why the Paul says this in 1 Corinthians 12, 27. All of you, someone say together, not apart, but together, are the body of Christ. And each one of you has a part in it. Maria, you're a part of God's body. Last week I said that when I kicked the soccer ball, the kneecap decided I didn't want to be part of my body and it caused me pain. The reason why you're feeling pain is because, and the body of Christ is not living up to the name is because not everyone is playing their part. Some of the eyes, I'm so grateful that God has called me to be the mouthpiece, but listen, the mouthpiece without the lungs is nothing. Can I tell you, some of you are the lungs to this thing. You're the one that put wind in the sails as you do what you do. Please don't under it. If everyone was an eye, you know what that is? It's called a monster. So every part is significant. Play your part. This is why we say to history makers church. Every member is a minister. Every member is a minister. And the Bible says that God makes it all fit together perfectly. And this is why it wasn't just one person walking with the presence. It wasn't just another person walking with the sword. It wasn't just one person walking with the trumpet. Everyone had a trumpet. And do you realize what color the trumpets were?
Red. Because you've got to be covered. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm covered by the blood. I'm covered by the blood. And this is why no devil in, stop me, I'm covered by the blood. You've got to be covered by the blood. And listen, you might be like, well, what can a trumpet do against a wall? What can a shell do against a wall? It's prayer. In the fall, fresh and wind, fresh fire, Jesus, Messiah, fresh and wind, fresh fire. That's what I want in my life, I need a fresh wind. Fresh fire, Jesus. You can't do it on your own, you're gonna eat a fresh wind from the Holy Spirit. So David, I know you think you just got five little stones and a little sling, but listen, those five stones and a sling will take down Goliath and destroy the one who's been destroying God's people because what comes upon those five stones was a fresh wind from heaven, a fresh wind blew and knocked down Goliath because when the stone hit him here to trajectory said he would have fallen backwards, but there was a fresh wind, a fresh fire! Come out here Jaz, I leave you on my own. There was a fresh wind and a fresh fire. That means when the stone hit him he should have fell backwards. When the Bible says Goliath didn't fall backwards, Goliath fell, what made Goliath fall? It was what? What was it? Fresh fire, Jesus! Say fresh wind, fresh wind! Fresh wind, fresh fire, Jesus, Messiah! Fresh fire, fresh fire, Jesus, Messiah!
Listen, you need a fresh wind on your part because it's not just your part, it's when your part in my part when your story and my story connects with his story. That's how we change the course of his story. You need a fresh wind to blow, you need wind to blow in that trumpet and not your voice but the breath of God. You got to understand when God made Adam, he reached into the dirt and he took the dirt, can I tell you there's some pieces of your life that are dirty? There's some pieces of your life you wish you could hide. There are some pieces of your life you wish no one would see. I'm telling you if God was about to take right now, the chapters of your life that you have as skeletons in the closet played on this screen, would everyone be okay with those? No, no, no, I'm like, God, please don't show that. I'm pretty good, I was a good boy growing up but there's still some parts I'm like, please don't play for everyone to see. But God says, I'll even take those dirty parts. I'll take those parts of your chapters of your story you wish that God would rewrite and God says, when I take those dirty parts and I form them, can I tell you, he formed Adam but Adam even though he had lungs, even though he had a circulatory system, nothing worked until the breath, until God breathed and some of you are doing good but you just need a fresh wind, fresh wind! Jesus, we need Jesus to blow again, you need a fresh wind from heaven, this is what you get here in church, this is why we take time in his presence because nothing else will do but your fresh wind! Hey, look at me ladies, you are daughters of God and you're absolutely stunning and beautiful, made in the image of God, do you hear me? And that beauty, that is a talent and Esther, that beauty is actually going to place you before kings, march, walk, but if you don't walk, walls don't fall, if you don't walk, you don't stand before the king, you got to get that talent out from yourself
and stop to use it for God and not just in the house of God because your workplace needs God, your family needs God, politics needs God, the city needs God, if you think this is just a recruitment thing for right here, you've missed it, no we need you to, we're not trying to employ you here at history makers church, we're trying to deploy you, we're trying to get you to move, we're trying to get you to walk and use your gifts for God because people don't see God, listen Esther, God's going to get an anoint those lips and you got a word, you got to speak that word, speak it, that's why your friend comes because you speak the word at your medical place wherever you work, ordinary becomes ordinary when our talent gets consecrated, unholy becomes holy, you got to walk your lap, I can't walk your lap for you, finally your treasure, someone say treasure, so the first thing God wants to consecrate and carry is your time, what's next, talent and what's last, treasure, Joshua 7 as we finish verse 16 says, the seventh time around, man God, I've been given all my time, I've been using this stuff but I just need a wind to blow, Lord sander, okay, seventh time around when the priest sounded the trumpet blast, you got to blow, you got to speak, you got to do something, Joshua commanded the army, shall the Lord has given you the city, someone shall, verse 17 says, the city and all that's in it are, this is important, the city and all that's in it to be devoted to the Lord, only Ray have the prostitute, God you're really going to save a prostitute, who is she? You know why? Because she hung a red scarlet cord out of her window so she was covered by the blood. So it's interesting, you see these walls, they fell. But her house was on the wall and it didn't fall because she was covered by the blood. Listen, and let me tell you why, because she used her time to look after the spice. She used her talent to look after the spice that came in. She used her treasure. Watch this. So God says, you've taken the city now, verse 17, and all that's in there are to be, shout that word out, the D word, out to be what? Devoted, say it louder, there to be. These are devoted things to the Lord. Only Ray had the prostitute and all who were in her house will be spared because she hit
the spice. She did her part. But keep away, God says, from the devoted things, so that you will not bring on your own destruction by taking any of them, verse 19. All the silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and they must go not in my treasury, but in, listen to me very carefully. I had a conversation with an amazing guy in our church, love him dearly, and he was telling me how he started tithing. And I was like, awesome, Hercules, amazing, proud of you. Because God's been dealing me about raising my tithe, so I'm like, God's dealing me about the same thing. I haven't been tithing because of whatever. And he says, well, as I've been giving, I've been giving God what hurts. And as he said it, I'm like, it's kind of true, come on, who knows that sometimes you're giving it hurts? Come on, you're looking to come out your back, God is like, ouch. Because times are tough, but I couldn't let it slide. I said, hey, you think you are giving God what hurts, but can I tell you, you're not giving God what hurts, you're giving God what he actually is. The Bible says the tithe is his. And I should have probably gone on to say the reason I hurt sometimes and you're probably hurting financially is because you're holding what's his. You know, Superman, Superman. And he lives on a planet called what, Krypton. You know what powers Krypton? Kryptonite. It's at the center of his planet when it started to leak out, he had to leave his planet. Can I tell you, even though Krypton is powering the planet, he can't touch Krypton. Because it makes him weak. See, when you hold what is his, when you hold what it's yours, it doesn't just corrupt
you, but it starts to corrode you. And I need you to know that you two have an S on your chest. You are super saved saints of God. And there are certain things like Superman can't touch that you cannot touch because it's not yours to hold Adam and Eve. Do not touch the tree. You can have everything else, but don't touch this one. This one is devoted to God. If you touch it, it won't help you. If you touch it, it will hurt you. And the lie of the 10 spies is that I've got to take it because God's holding it back and won't give it to me. And if you believe that lie, you'll hold the thing, but if you hold what is his, it will hurt you. If you hold on to what is his, it will hurt you. Hey, listen, Abraham and Sarah, I know you haven't got the baby yet. I know God promised to you, but if you touch Hagar, don't touch Hagar. It is unconsecrated. She is going to desecrate what God wants to consecrate. What are you trying to do in your own strength that God says this is me and me alone that's going to perform it in your life? Don't touch Hagar, don't touch it. Listen to me. Do not touch Bathsheba, David, don't touch her. That's not yours. She is his. That's God's daughter. Listen to me, young men, some of you are touching a girl, don't touch her. It's not your girl. That's God's daughter.
If you touch what is God's, if you hold what is God's, it's going to hurt you. Don't touch it. It's devoted. Someone will say, don't touch it. Don't touch it. It is God's. If you touch what is God's, it's going to hurt you. Do not hold it. It will harm your life. And here's what Joshua 621 says, the devoted city to the Lord was what they actually went into and they destroyed everything with the sword, everything living it, men and women. Because if consecrated people touch on consecrated things, it will corrupt you. Don't touch it. Verse 24 says, they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of whose house. The Lord's house, but Joshua spared Rahab, the prostitute with her family and all that belonged to her. Her one act of obedience to use her time, talent and treasure didn't just spare her, but her entire family. And the Bible says now she lives around Israel today through Jesus Christ. Look at the next verse. Verse 26, this is powerful. Don't miss this. undertakes try to do not rebuild this city. At the cost of your firstborn is what it's going to cost you if you try to do this and so the Bible says no one touched the consecrated things except watch this there was one guy anyone know the songs he's a singer his name's Akon anyone know what songs Akon sings locked up yeah because if you touch the sacred things you will get locked up now listen his name was not Akon it was Akon and here's what he did the Bible says he was you know it's interesting where did Ray have hide the messengers
in her house look at me very clearly listen listen if you hide the messengers in your if you hide the messengers catching the message if you hide the message in your heart your house will be spared I'm encouraging you to hide the message in your heart and the Bible says Akon touched the consecrated things and it desecrated what God wanted to consecrate so watch this now they've conquered this first city called Jericho but it wasn't the only city someone say it wasn't the only city there was another city that went into conquer which was called AI someone say AI literally like that thing you search up every day it was powerful the Bible says that they lost the battle and they got struck down and Joshua asked God God what is going on you gave us this city you let us do the Red Sea you we survived 40 years in the wilderness we passed the River Jordan now we get to this city and you make these walls fall not by might not by pal but by your strength so why are we now losing an AI and don't miss this here this God says because someone touch the consecrated things if you read a story AI had actually taken some of the consecrated things that he put it in his own treasury and when you touch and take what is God it will stop you from conquering cities that God says you need to conquer can I tell you I don't know what air of your life you've been fear finding defeat but God says don't touch the consecrated thing someone say consecrate time talent and treasure and here's why it's important when you conquer that city we don't just walk so walls fall you know why walls fall because there's a woman inside there who needs to walk and when she walks out look at what it says the Bible says out of this Rahab prostitute in Matthew here's who came out of Rahab you need to see with your own eyes because the Bible says that Rahab walks out and it says she said it was a father Boaz and Boaz's mother was named as who's Rahab listen to me Rahab was a prostitute if her son is Boaz you would think he would do the same thing he mother does have no respect for people but the Bible says that when Ruth Ruth will name him he lays down next to Boaz he doesn't take advantage of her no God redeems her story because she was covered by the blood and out of Boaz comes Ruth comes Jesse next verse out of Jesse comes David who
we know King David and out of King David it goes on to say our Savior and Messiah Jesus is the one keep going out of Joseph and Jesus the Messiah comes out of Rahab here's why this is important move your legs as we finish walk much walk walk walk walk walk if you don't walk keep walking walls don't fall if walls don't fall a woman called Rahab a daughter of God doesn't walk free listen keep walking marching if Rahab doesn't get free guess what we don't get Jesus how do we know a woman is about to get give birth something breaks what breaks her waters stop walking we are about to march next week Saturday and Sunday 11th at 11 into the city center there is a city and behind those walls are women daughters of God and when we walk walls fall and if we walls don't fall those daughters will never walk free and if those daughters don't walk free the Bible says out of your belly will flow rivers off living water there is something in the women that God wants to birth this weekend and I'm telling you consecration is not just what God wants to do in you consecration is what God wants to do and I'm asking you use your time be there Friday Sunday Sunday use your talent and it's not just about this weekend but I believe prophetically. Here's what it says in Revelation. In Revelation God says that second city, and the Bible says the angels showed me in Revelation what was in that city there was a river of water, of life, flowing as clear as crystal. Can I tell you when Jesus was pierced in the side, out of Him came blood, covered by the blood, but what else? Water. Can I tell you that water is going to make every dirty place in every daughter's life clear as crystal, and it's going to flow out of your belly. And flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb of God, Jesus, next verse, it's going to go down the middle, until you're down the middle of Pembroke Pines, down the middle of Davy, down the middle of Miramar, all across Broward there's going to be a mighty river that's flowing on each side of the river is going to be a tree of life, where there's been death in your life, God's going to bring revival, you're going to bear crops of fruit in season and out of season, and can I tell you the river that is wild is going to bring
healing to the nations and guess who God is asking to bring it through, you and me. Every eye closed, every head bow. If you're here today, you've never met this Jesus, the river of life, the Bible says if you believe in your heart and you confess with your mouth, you shall be saved.
