Four Christmases Threeology: Episode 4

When Jesus came to the earth, there wasn’t a great delegation of influencers and luminaries awaiting His arrival. His birth was heralded by those with no credentials or qualifications to their name. An older childless couple who thought their childbearing years were far behind them. A teenage girl in a no-name town. A ragtag group of shepherds watching their flocks on the hillside. An old widow serving in the Temple day and night. These were the people who welcomed Jesus. Mor importantly, these are the people who surrounded Jesus. He didn’t come to earth as one of the rich and famous. He was counted among the poor and ignored. But, the depth of humility only serves to reveal the depth of our need.
