Four Christmases Threeology: Episode 3

Matthew’s account of the Christmas story focuses on a series of kings. There’s Joseph, a carpenter from Nazareth who is born into the lineage of David, Israel’s greatest king. There are the Magi, servants of a distant kingdom who come to bow down and pledge their allegiance to a greater King. There’s King Herod, the power-hungry Roman ruler desperate to remove any threat to his own kingdom. In the center of it all is King Jesus, the newborn King who will show the world a new way to rule. Christmas doesn’t just offer us an opportunity to celebrate; it presents us with a choice. Which Kingdom will we live for? Which King will we pursue?
