Hallelujah! How are you, family? How are you today? Well, listen, speaking of family, today we have the whole Victory family joining us. So, North Cross, can we take a moment to welcome North Cobb, Hamilton Mill, Midtown Campus, and everyone who is joining us online. We are excited by what God is doing. Listen, if I have not had the privilege of meeting you, I am Mo and my wife is Kendra. I have the pleasure of leading some of the most incredible people in Georgia and the world on Midtown Campus. We are excited to be here today, to be able to share the word and see what God is doing. I want to do something while we have been browsing a series for the last few months. If you are new to us, we have been in the book of John for a few months, and we will be in the book of John for the rest of the year. What we have been doing is paying a lot of attention to see what God wants to show us about who Jesus is. If you have been paying attention to the scriptures and messages, John does not only seek to teach us biblical stories. What he really tries to do is build something in us. How many of us feel that we have been built during these last few months? I know I have. What we are doing by taking another step is to see that he has been teaching us who Jesus is. How is the true faith? In fact, when you really review the comments and studies about the book of John, many theologians would say that the book of John is the gospel of faith. Why? Because John tells us very explicitly why he is writing this book. He does not try to hide it. It is very direct. He says, In John chapter 20, verse 31, he says, How many want to have life in his name? I know I do.

He said, What we know here is that John is not only trying to inform us. He is not only trying to give us information. In fact, he is trying to give us a revelation. In reality, he is trying to lead us to a verdict about Jesus. What do I mean by that? He has given us a verdict because he said, Here is a question I want to start with. It is not in your notes, but write it down. Because it will be the core from which we are going to build. What are you going to do with Jesus? And what are you going to do with Jesus then? No second-hand information. Not what the world is saying, but what are you going to do with Jesus? When we think about this, we have to ask ourselves the question, Will we believe him? Will we trust him? Will we follow him? Or will we only have a pious appearance, denying his true power? Look at your neighbor and ask him, What are you going to do with Jesus? Now, in each campus, tell the person on the other side, What are you going to do with Jesus? Listen to this. During the last five weeks, we have been on this stage, next to a well in Samaria. Observing how this was developing. Seeing a rejected, abused and broken woman, who was thirsty in every area of her life. What we discovered is that Jesus always arrives on time.

Even when we least expect it. What we saw is that Jesus revealed himself as the Messiah. He satiated his thirst and then she was truly saved. He went to tell the others about him. And when they heard him, they made the great declaration of last week. But how do you really trust Him, just because He is Him? When we talk about true faith, what we are saying is that true faith is tested in the space between a promise and evidence. True faith is when you can really cling to what God is saying. I would dare to say this. Every believer, including me, we have to learn to live between promise and evidence. In every campus, do me a favor. Raise your hand if you have heard a promise from God. We have all made it one way or another. It is appropriate to be here together, as one body and one church, because it is not an individual message.

It is to cement our identity, beyond the name Victory, living really in victory and in all that God has for us. Amen! So listen to this. While we prepare for this, let's read the scripture and the text that we are going to learn today. Open your Bibles in John chapter 4, verses 43-54. If you have your physical Bible, take it out, because if you were here last week, you know that we could surprise you. To make sure that you are really reading the scripture. John chapter 4, verses 43-54. Here it is. After two days, he left for Galilee. Now, Jesus himself had said that a prophet does not have honor in his own land. When I read this, I felt a push, because I usually imagine everything. I thought, some will say, it is only little Jesus, the son of the carpenter. What does he do? We don't. Will you believe him? But he says, when he arrived in Galilee, they received him. They had seen everything that he had done in Jerusalem during the feast of Easter. Because they had also been there. Once again, he visited Cana of Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son was sick in Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to see him and begged him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die. Underline this part of your Bible, if you have your physical Bible. Unless you see signs and wonders, Jesus said to them, you will never believe. Jesus, in some way, was putting him to the test here.

The royal official said to him, Lord, come down before my son dies. Go, Jesus replied, your son will live. The man believed in the word of Jesus and left. On the way, his servants received him, saying that his son was alive. When he asked them at what time his son had recovered, they said to him, yesterday at one in the afternoon, the fever left him. Then the father understood that it was the same time when Jesus said to him, your son will live. So he and all his family believed. This was the second sign that Jesus made after coming from Judea to Galilee. Now, I want to say something. At first glance, this seems like a healing story, and it is. There is a father who is desperate. There is a son who is dying. I want to challenge us not to listen to this as an old historical document, but I want to challenge us to put ourselves in the shoes of this man. As a father, if my son is not well, I am not well either. If my son is sick, I will do everything possible to make him recover. And so we see that his son was sick, his son was dying, and Jesus speaks. And a miracle happens. But what we have to see is that this is not just a healing story. If we are not careful, we will lose what John teaches us. What is it? That the miracle is not really the main point here. The faith is. The miracle is not really what is being highlighted, but many times we live only on a superficial level. of what the word is saying. So what we need to see here is that I would say that the greatest miracle

in this story is not that the child has been healed. The greatest miracle is that the father trusted in Jesus before even having proof. He had faith in Jesus. Someone say faith in Jesus. Look at what happens. Jesus gives him a promise. The man starts to walk. And now the proof came later. But if we are not careful, what we will do is focus only on how everything ended. But what we need to see is that we know that the proof is going to come. But that did not stop the man. So look at this. This is how many of us are living right now. Just like this man. Many of us are living in a place where God, through Jesus, has given us a promise. But far away is where the proof is. But far away is where the proof is. What we need to strengthen ourselves is how to live in the interval. How do we live in the point of tension? How do we live our life

and not lose our faith when God tells us to hold on to my immutable hand. Today we are seeing how to live between the promise and the proof. I want to give you a couple of things because John actually presents three anchors that allow us to go through that. The three anchors are these. Hold on, walk, and trust. Repeat this after me. Say, hold on, walk, and trust. Say it with strength. Hold on, walk, and trust. Let's start with, hold on. Here it is. We need to start by holding on because before faith can be proven it has to have something to hold on to. Because before the Father received the miracle Jesus gave him a word. He gave him a promise. Because this is how God works. He will give you something that you can hold on to. So that when everything explodes in your life you can say, God, I know what you said. Even if you want to give up, I know what you said.

That is what we need. Here is an important key. Write this down. What you hold on to when life gets hard will determine if your faith survives the journey. I will say it again. What you hold on to when life gets hard when cancer appears when they fire you from work when the divorce is about to happen when the disease consumes your body what you hold on to when life gets hard determines if you will survive the journey and how you will do it. In verse 36, what we see here is that John tells us that this real servant comes to Jesus because his son was about to die. This man is desperate, friends. Let's be honest. Can we be honest today? Can we be honest? Let's be honest. Nothing exposes our faith faster than despair. Nothing tests our faith more than necessity. Have you ever said, God, if you take me out of this, if you give me a miracle,

God, I will serve you for the rest of my life, the rest of our lives are three weeks after the miracle because after he has done that for which we have prayed so much we settle down because we no longer need his hand or at least we believe. When life goes well, everyone says to trust God, but when life starts to hit you, that's when it tests you if you give up or if you will persevere. Listen to me. In each of the campuses we need to hear this. There is nothing wrong with taking your needs to Jesus. Let me say this very clearly. He loves you. He says, call on me and I will answer you. This father did it and all of us have done it. We pray to God to heal and fix this. God provides for this. The question is not if you are going to ask. Here it is. The question is, what happens when God leaves you waiting?

What happens when God leaves you waiting? What happens if you get tired of doing good, knowing that you will reap in due time if you do not faint? Someone asked for that moment to come now. Look, we are all looking for some level of relief. I am not looking for us to try to be super saints ignoring what is happening in the world. I love what Dr. Gary Burge said at the beginning of this series. He is a seminary professor of Pastor Johnson. He taught us that by looking at this comment here, this man that we are really focusing on did not come to Jesus in search of discipleship. He came in search of relief. We have to be careful when we approach God. The fact of seeking only that he relieves our pressure, instead of being disciples who are really being instructed. Right here, the relief was the problem. This was what was causing him stress. This threatened his life at that moment. Before judging him from the present, let's look at our lives.

Haven't we all been there? Now, look at this other thing we see here. It's a fundamental key. He is a real official. You'll say, Pastor Mo, what does that mean? Well, that's funny. He is a real official, which means that he is a man used to giving orders to others, used to everything happening under his terms. If he says, jump, they ask him, how high? He is someone capable of moving everything, and nothing is out of his reach. But at this moment, his own will could not change the situation of his son. But look at what John is really showing us here. Basically, this man was telling God what he had to do. Look at the scripture. He says, come now, do it like this. My son is about to die. We look at him and judge him. But how many times have we screamed and got angry with God because he didn't act? How did we think he was going to act? We said, Jesus, this is what has to happen. I need money, and I need it now. I need company. It's a summer of boys and girls out here. I have to do something. We say, Jesus, here is my schedule. I feel very tired of being alone.

I am very tired of being so alone. What we do is justify it and say, my biological clock is running, God. Send them now, Lord, and send them quickly. We say, this is how we have to fix this. This is how we have to respond, but we do this. We put conditions on God. We say, this is my list of requirements. This is how I want it to be. Look, I'll tell you this. Some of us have lost the ability to move by God because He didn't come in the package you were expecting. Let me make this very clear. You have your list. It has to measure 1.88. Brown eyes, good physique. It has to measure like a meter and a half or something like that. I don't want to look up at a woman. We laugh. But how many times have we aborted what was sent by God for not recognizing it upon arrival? Let me ask you a more difficult question. How many times have we loved Jesus more for what He could do than for who He is? Because despair has a way of converting devotion into negotiation. Let's negotiate with God. God, I will only do this if, without saying it, this is how we pray. I heard the Christian rapper say this.

Many Christians. Let me give you a warning. Not you, but your neighbor. He said that many Christians treat God as a consultant instead of a father. We treat God as a consultant. We say, God, here is my plan. Bless it. Here is my dream. Finance it. Here is my schedule. Do it and do it now. But God is not a consultant. He is a father. Listen to me. And a father has the right to tell you no. A father has the right to tell you, even if you want it this way, do it this way. As a good father, if our son Maximus, as he usually does, wants to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, giving it to him would be irresponsible. But some of us, even if we don't look for ice cream, if we want the sweet pleasures of life, we only ask God, bless me with this and that. And He says,

stop. Stop living only on sweets and deepen what my heart is trying to form in you. Here it is. Let me ask you an even more difficult question. How would your prayers be if you took away everything you are asking God for? How would your prayer time be? Would you still have devotion? Would you still have worship? Would you still have surrender? Or is your prayer time filled only with requests? I would dare to say that many Christians have prayer lists, but not a life of prayer. Many Christians, if you took away the things that they want God to grant them, would not have a relationship with God because we are content with requests and not with a father whom we long for. Sometimes what shakes our faith is not that God has not acted or failed, it is that he did not fulfill our interpretation of the promise. When we look at the scriptures, we see that Jesus gave a promise to the Father, but without proof. And this is where the faith begins. But I don't want to be standing here like a preacher who just says this. Because if we are honest, this is where it gets difficult. If we are honest, this is where the battle comes. If we are honest, this is where people fall. Because the question now is, what do you do when the only thing you can cling to is a word from God? I'm going to tell you what you have to do. You have to walk. Walk. Here it is. We have to walk by faith. I like how the ESV version translates it. John 4.50. It says, The man believed the word that Jesus had spoken to him, and he went his way. This means that he did not sit there contemplating. He did not act on the paralysis of the analysis. Think about it. Jesus did not go with him. He said, here is the word. He said, I am doing something. So he had to exemplify some faith, and he had to begin to leave that place of stagnation. Before the result, before the miracle, he went his way. Someone say, he went his way. So write down this phrase. Faith is what you do. Between what Jesus said and what you see, it's not just thinking with optimism. Faith without action is dead. Sometimes we pray for things for which God said, move. God has already acted. You just need to get to where he is waiting for you. Here it is. I want to present something that we must apply as a principle in all of our campuses. It is called spiritual tenacity. What is spiritual tenacity? It is not allowing circumstances to command when God has already spoken.

It is what God gives you, what God gives you, what God gives you. I am not talking about willpower. It is the determination given by God to continue obeying, to continue trusting, and to continue advancing when nothing around you tells you to do so. In summary, it is not just staying here. It is that you choose to continue walking, even when you do not understand it. Now I know what you are thinking, because I am going to put my prophetic gift in this moment. Maybe you think, Pastor Mo, you are a pastor and it is your duty to say this, but listen to this. This is not a theory. This is a personal testimony. I think that sometimes we should share our testimony more, because some people think that you invent or read any story. They see my wife and me. We publish about our family on social media. We publish about our little Maximus, a miracle that came to this world. This is our son, right there. He just turned 5, but he looks like he is 30. We see this, we celebrate it, and we take family photos. But some do not know that before Maximus, there was an Emmanuel, a child that was not born. I tell you this because sometimes, carelessly, we judge others from afar, thinking that they do not know what we are going through. If I go back to 2014, Kendra and I had been married for a couple of years. At that moment, after we got married, we talked about having children. We did not look for them, but we were not avoiding it either. Do you know what I mean? We were having a good time, walking in the covenant of marriage. Hallelujah! Marriage is wonderful, friends, and it has many benefits in one package. But here is the thing. At first, we did not look for it, but then we really started trying.

When we did it, we had some difficulties. I was in an environment of a lot of stress. I traveled all the time. I remember even going to the doctor, and the doctor told us, the problem is that, Andrew, that is my official name. Your sperm count is a little low. Some of you are thinking, as if you are getting very intimate right now. Tell the truth. Shame on the devil. I share this because sometimes people feel ashamed to let the light come into their testimony. And they think they are the only ones who are going through something. But I remember when he told me that. I'm going to tell you. I was looking at him. I thought, can you see me? I'm naked. That. What do you mean I'm low? But that's what happened. So we went through a little struggle and then what happened? We kept trying and we conceived. Praise God. And many of us who have had children know that. When you conceive, what people say is, don't tell anyone immediately until you get out of the danger zone. Don't say anything until the first trimester. I didn't listen. I threw myself. How exciting.

I told everyone, everyone who wanted to hear. Kendra looked at me as if to tell me to stop. And I said, I'm proud. Here it is. We had the most prominent of Christianity. They prayed for her and they prayed for our son. We received prophetic words about our promised son. With all this happening, I remember that we went to what was supposed to be a routine visit to the doctor. I want to give you free advice about something you never want to hear when you go to a routine visit to the doctor. You never want to hear the nurse say, let me go get the doctor. You would prefer that they just do the check-up and let you go on your way. So the doctor comes in. And I remember that I prepared myself because I was still full of faith. Sitting there, I think, do you want to show us that twins are coming? What do you want to show us? Okay. And he tells us, his own son, his little boy. De hecho, no lo está logrando. Él está construyendo una fe dentro de ti que no depende de los resultados. Una fe que dice, Dios, sé que tú puedes. Dios, creo que eres capaz. Pero incluso si no lo haces de la manera que yo esperaba, igual confío en ti. Igual te adoro. Sigo creyendo. Porque mi fe no está construida sobre el resultado. Está construida sobre aquel que sostiene el resultado. Con la cabeza inclinada. Mi familia de Victories, quiero hacerles una promesa. Quizás has pensado en servir a Dios, pero la vida no ha sido como esperabas.

Y pensaste, bueno, a Dios le importa. A Jesús le importa. Sí, le importa tanto que entregó a su hijo por ti. El mayor milagro posible es que tu vida pase de la oscuridad a su luz. Si estás aquí, mírame ahora. Quiero ver por quién oro. Si quieres entregar tu vida a Jesús, buscar su corazón y no solo su mano, y estar seguro de que al morir, pues todos moriremos, el cielo sea tu hogar eterno.
