♪ Good morning, brothers and sisters. My name is Cristina Garcia. We are with Freedom in Jesus Presión. We are from all the prisons here in Texas. I came to share with you a little bit of my testimony, what God did in my life. From a very young age, I grew up in the neighborhood. My father was an alcoholic. My mother always worked and she didn't have time for us, me and my little sister. When I was very young, at 12 years old, I started using drugs and I started going to gangs. At 15 years old, I started using soda, cocaine, and more drugs. After that, I went away for a while. I went from Lubbock to East Texas. At that time, I met a boy who was older than me. We had two daughters. At 20 years old, I didn't believe in God, I didn't believe in anything. I was an atheist. I was an atheist for 25 years. I thank God for what He did in my life. I was a tecate. I used a lot of drugs in my life. Everything I did, I had a very black heart, very hard. I suffered a lot as a little girl from what I went through. At 21 years old, I met another boy. He worked with the cartels. We had three daughters. I started working with the cartels, helping them for seven years. At 25 or 26 years old, I got tired of that life.
I wanted to leave, but it was very difficult because my ex-husband was in that situation. I had three daughters with him. He was from Mexico. He was from San Luis Potosi. I worked with him for about seven years. I got tired of that life. I felt something in my heart that was calling me, but I didn't know who it was. Now that I know God, I know what it was. It was the Holy Spirit that was calling me. It was Jesus who was touching my heart, but I had a hard heart. I went back to work with my mom. I didn't believe in God yet. I lost two of my older daughters. I took them with me, but I was still using drugs. I was in the canteens. I didn't care about my daughters yet. At that time, my mom got sick. She couldn't drive anymore. She told me, Can you take me to church?" I said, Yes, of course, I'll take you, but I'm not going to church. Then my daughters started going to church. My daughters told me, One day you're going to go to church, mom. I said, No, you're crazy. I don't want to go to church because I don't believe in God. I was very bad, very bad. I remember my daughters crying because they needed me. I was a bad mother. I know there are many parents who leave their children and don't care about their children.
I was a mother who didn't care about my daughters. I had five daughters. As a mother, I always needed to take care of my children, but I wasn't there for my daughters. I preferred drugs. I saw my friends going out to the canteens. I couldn't see what they were saying to me at that time. It was very difficult for them. If I hadn't said goodbye, I know that... Tiempo pasado, 10 años entregué mi vida a Jesús.
Y comencé a llorar. Gravier and his own brother were arguing.
My daughter, being what she is, she liked everything. She had all her friends. She was a friend of everything. And the two boys were arguing about something. And my daughter didn't know. And the boy said to my daughter, Can you give me a ride to my brother Gravier's house? My daughter said, Yes, I'll give you a ride. And Gravier was high on drugs. And when his own brother left, he raped his brother, but he mixed with his brother. He hit my daughter in the car. My daughter died in the car. She was leaving. She gave him a ride as a friend. Out of trust. And that night I lost my daughter. And that's why I was very angry. With a pain that you can't even imagine. Time passed. It wasn't easy to forgive Gravier. It took me almost two years to forgive him. And when God worked in my heart, to take out that spark in my heart, God began to work in my life. Wherever we go, we go to prison. And I know that... I always used to say to my brother, I know that one day, I'm going to see Gravier sitting where you are. And I'm going to tell him that I forgive him.
Because I can't say that I love God without forgiving anyone. And it lasted almost a year and a half, saying that to all the prisons we went to. That I forgive Gravier. And I forgive Gravier. But when do you know that God does give you to see if it's true? Well, in October. October 4th. I woke up at three in the morning praying for Gravier for a week. I didn't know why. I forgave him. I prayed for him. But I didn't know why Jesus was waking me up at three in the morning. And when we went to Arkansas to minister, my husband, the Holy Spirit, said to me, I want you to go with the crusade by Fort Stockton, by the Lionel unit. And that unit is a favorite of ours. And we always go there. We always minister there. And there we know everything. The chaplain and everything. We know everyone there. And my husband said, we never go to Arkansas. I said, let's go.
Before we went there, the Holy Spirit told me, don't go to Arkansas. Better go to Fort Stockton with Freedom in Jesus to minister. And I said, okay, Jesus. I hear you very well. And when I told my husband, we're not going to Arkansas because the Holy Spirit is telling me that we're not going. And I'm going to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. On that Friday, October 4, I went to the Lionel unit. We entered the chapel. There were about 50 chairs. Because whenever we go, there are about 200, 250 chairs where they come to hear the word of God. But that morning, God had a plan. A perfect plan. And when we entered, I told the chaplain, there are a few chairs. Why is that? He said, because the G4s are going to come out now. And Mr. Canup, Stephen Canup, told me, Maggie is not here yet. He said, better give your testimony to the G4s
because they have never heard your testimony of your daughter. I said, okay. I went to talk about my daughter and to forgive Gravier. And when I was giving my testimony, everything was over and I went to the front. Two boys approached me. One was very skinny with tattoos, and the other was a little shorter. And the skinny boy told me, your daughter was called Bonnie. Most of her friends called her Bonnie. I said, yes, why? He said, because this is Gravier. And I didn't understand. But when I turned to the boy in front of me, I saw a boy who was crying. And he said, I killed your daughter. Will you forgive me? And I looked at him. I didn't look at a bad person. I didn't look at a man who was saying all the news, because the news was everywhere. I looked at a boy who got drunk, who was on drugs, and now he's paying for his life. And I was crying. And he said, forgive me for killing your daughter. And at the end, I told him, I was also crying. All of us were crying.
I told him, Gravier, Gravier, I told him, I forgave you, I forgave you. But it's time for you to forgive yourself. And he started crying. He started crying and crying. All of us were crying. And the boy, who had tattoos, came up to me and said, Gravier never comes to church. But this morning, Gravier decided to go to church when I invited him. And when we were there, I looked at my husband. My husband was on one side talking to another. And I told my husband, come. My husband said, what's wrong? Because he looked at everyone there crying. Especially a boy who was close to me, face to face, Gravier. The boy who killed my daughter. I told my husband, this is Gravier, the one who killed our daughter. My husband, without thinking twice, told Gravier, we can pray for you, Gravier. And we were all crying. And we were praying for Gravier. I didn't look at a bad person. I looked at a person who was wrong about drugs. Because that's how we are. When we're on drugs, we make mistakes.
It's easy to do this or that. And know what's going to happen. That day, God did His perfect plan. And I told Stephen Cannop, the president of Freedom in Jesus. I told him, I turned him around because he was with us. I told him, there's the man who killed my daughter. And he started to cry. We were all crying. Because this should never have happened. But God's plan is so perfect. And I remember that we prayed for Gravier. And he left. He left with that peace in his heart. He can't sleep anymore. Because I know, he was saying that they were locked up in jail with Gravier. And he had something very, very sad in his heart for taking the life of a girl. And well, when we were coming to the hotel, I was crying for my daughter. Because that's how I felt losing her again. And when I got to my hotel, I was crying. I told God, why now? Why this? God told me, forgiveness wasn't for you.
It was for Gravier. And I stopped crying. Because now I understood everything. You know what? Maybe you'll never have forgiveness for something like this, so serious. But God has already forgiven you. You need to forgive yourself for what you did in the past, or for something that is very ingrained in your heart, that you can't get out. Forgive, just as God forgave us. I always pray for Javier. And I know that one day, when he leaves for Peru, I will speak on behalf of Javier, as the mother of the victim. I will speak on behalf of Javier because I know, as a mother, how it is to have a daughter locked up. Because I had another daughter in prison. I know, as a mother, how it is to lose a child. I know that God has a perfect plan for you. Maybe you don't know it right now. Maybe you don't understand. Just follow in God's footsteps and trust in God. Forgive, just as God forgave us when we were crazy. Because it is very difficult for our families out there, because your family needs you. Even if you make a mistake, even if you make a mistake, there is no bigger sin than the other. God looks at all sins like this. Forgive yourself.
And trust in God, just as I trust in God. Trust in Him. He has a perfect plan. And we want to say that at Freedom NJ we love you very much. We pray for you, for your family. I know that your children need you out there. I know that maybe they say that they give you this and that for so many years. But you know that God can get you out. God is a great God. Nothing is impossible for Him. Just as He put the pieces so that I could know Gravier, He wants to do that in your life. To start building your life, just as He wants. Not as crazy as we were before. Not like nothing. Just as God wanted us to be. It is to love Him. And we love you very much here at Freedom NJ. We pray for you and for your family. We love you very much. Until next time. May God bless you forever, my brothers and sisters. Goodbye.
