21 Dias de Oración - Semana 3

A casa. Bienvenidos a casa, che. No sé, por las dudas. Bienvenidos a casa a los que están acá presentes y también a los que son parte de nuestra familia que nos están viendo vía online. Te voy a decir algo de lo cual yo no me apercebía, no sabía, y creo que te va a emocionar. Esta semana recibí una carta muy especial de alguien que está en la prisión, alguien que está en la cárcel. Y la carta, hermosa carta que esta semana voy a responder, si Dios me lo permite, decía, yo les quiero agradecer. Estoy acá por fallos que cometí, pero en este lugar yo conocí a Cristo. Me está hablando este hombre desde la cárcel. Yo conocí a Jesús como mi salvador personal. Y estoy viendo sus servicios vía online. Te cuento algo. Hay una app que se llama Pando app, que está abierta para todas las prisiones y las cárceles, en donde estos servicios se pasan. Y él me decía, acá hay servicios en inglés, pero nosotros podemos crecer en la palabra gracias a los servicios que ustedes hacen. Y me decía este hombre, me hicieron sentir en familia. Así que, si me estás viendo por ahí, si me están viendo por ahí, muchachos y mujeres también, Dios los bendiga, ustedes son igual parte de esta familia, porque les recuerdo algo. Jesús vino al mundo a morir por pecadores.

Los que están acá sentados y los que están allá sentados. Jesús vino al mundo a morir por pecadores, de los cuales yo soy el primero. ¿Amén sí o no? Bueno, con esa emoción, si has traído tu biblia o si estás viendo desde donde sea que estés viendo, quiero que la pongas en alto. ¿Qué es lo que decimos? Esta es la palabra de Dios. Y quiero que vayas ahora mismo a Mateo capítulo 6. Vamos a investigar un poquito uno de los textos más impactantes del Nuevo Testamento, por lo menos para mi vida. Mateo capítulo 6, versículos 24 al 34. Lo primero que voy a hacer es que lo voy a leer todo y después vamos a investigar qué es lo que Jesús dice en su palabra, qué es lo que Dios tiene para vos esta mañana. Dice así, estoy leyendo Mateo capítulo 6, versículo 24 al 34. Lea así. Perdón, a partir del versículo 25. Por eso les digo que no se preocupen por la vida diaria. Si tendrán suficiente alimento o bebida o suficiente ropa para vestirse. ¿Acaso no es la vida más que la comida y el cuerpo más que la ropa? Miren a los pájaros. No plantan ni cosechan ni guardan comida en graneros porque el Padre Celestial los alimenta. ¿Y no son ustedes para él mucho más valiosos que ellos? ¿Acaso todas sus preocupaciones pueden añadir un solo momento a

su vida? Versículo 28. ¿Y por qué preocuparse por la ropa? Miren cómo crecen los lirios, las flores del campo. No trabajan, no cosen su ropa. Sin embargo, ni Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió tan hermoso como ellos. Y si Dios cuida de manera tan maravillosa a las flores silvestres que hoy están y mañana se echan al fuego, tengan por seguro que cuidará de ustedes. ¿Por qué tienen tan poca fe? Así que no se preocupen por todo eso diciendo, ¿qué comeremos? ¿O qué beberemos? ¿O qué ropa nos pondremos? Esas cosas dominan el pensamiento de los incrédulos, es decir, de los que no creen. Pero su Padre Celestial ya conoce todas sus necesidades. Busquen el reino de Dios por encima de todo lo demás. Y lleven una vida justa y Él les dará todo lo que necesiten. Así que no se preocupen por el mañana, porque el día de mañana traerá sus propias preocupaciones. Los problemas del día de hoy son suficientes por hoy. Hasta ahí el texto que leemos esta mañana. Primero, te quiero dar una aclaración de qué es lo que no dice estos versículos. A veces, leyendo estos versículos, se nos da la idea de que esto es una versión cristianizada del Hakuna Matata. ¿Recuerdan esa canción? Los que crecimos en los 90s, era una canción muy conocida.

Hakuna Matata, nada que qué. Nada que temer. Hakuna Matata, no, creo que la dije mal, pero bueno. El tema es que la filosofía de Hakuna Matata es, sin preocuparse, es como hay que vivir. Hay veces que nos idealizamos la vida de aquel que siga a Jesús como si Jesús estuviera pidiéndote que vivieras una vida sin ninguna clase de inquietud. Entonces, vos vas con tu auto y vos sabes que esa rayita en el marcador de. combustible está en la letra E. Para vos esa E significa esperanza, pero la E significa empty, no te queda más. Y vos empezás a invocar este versículo diciendo, señor, en tu nombre, no me preocupo, hace el milagro. Lo has hecho, yo sé que lo has hecho. Está mal usado porque Dios prometió llenar tu corazón, no prometió llenar el tanque de tu auto. Entonces, lo correcto sería que si vos realmente crees en Dios, que frenaras y cargaras todo el tanque de tu auto. Jesús no está diciendo que no hay ningún lugar para inquietarte. Por ejemplo, si te duele algo en el cuerpo, la idea de Jesús no te está diciendo, si te duele algo en tu cuerpo, no te preocupes. Si ves que tu familia se está yendo al hoyo, no te preocupes. Si ves que tus decisiones te están llevando cada vez más lejos de Dios, no te preocupes. Si ves que tu hijo está cada vez más rebelde,

no te preocupes. No es lo que Jesús está enseñándote acá. De hecho, la palabra de Dios te invita a ocuparte de las cosas mientras sea el tiempo. La palabra de Dios te enseña que vos tenés que orar por las cosas, pero también tenés que ponerle patas a la oración. Una vida de relajo, una vida de alguien que se dice creer en Cristo, pero que no atiende a las dificultades de su vida, es una vida que la Biblia jamás encomienda, jamás aplaude. Jesús no está hablando que no podés tener ninguna inquietud. Lo que sí está hablando es que vos no podés vivir en ansiedad y, aún así, vivir la vida que Dios tiene para vos. Déjame que te dé mi propia definición de ansiedad. Ansiedad no significa que vos tenés un concern o que vos estás inquieto por algo. Ansiedad es una deformación en tu mente y en tu corazón que te hace pretender que tenés el control de lo que va a pasar mañana. Eso es ansiedad. La ansiedad te da esa ilusión de que vos podés controlar lo incontrolable. Y lo único que termina produciendo en tu vida es, en primer lugar, te paraliza y te enferma. Te enferma porque vos no sabés, tenés miedo de lo que puede pasar mañana y estás paralizado. Y la Biblia habla mucho cómo esa clase de ansiedad te enferma la cabeza y te enferma el cuerpo. La palabra de Dios lo enseña y, si vos querés ir a chequear lo que la ciencia ya descubrió hace tiempo, es que esa clase de ansiedad te va a enfermar.

Te deja sin sueño y hasta te baja tu sistema de defensa, tu sistema inmunológico. Lo segundo es que esta clase de vida llena de ansiedad, pretendiendo de que vos tenés el control de las cosas, te lleva a una clase de vida, tal vez no que se paraliza, pero sí que vive huyendo, vive escapando. Una de las formas que vos demostrás que estás escapando por tu ansiedad son los vicios. You're binging on Netflix o tal vez estás binging on something else. Ahí es donde entra en su peor de los casos la droga. Al final, la mayoría de los casos de droga es que estás escapando de la falta de control. No te gusta no tener el control, no te gusta no tener el control de tu pasado o el pasado de alguien más o de la vida de alguien más y, por eso, vos necesitas huir de eso. Lo tercero que hacemos es pelear. Hay personas que, aun conociendo a Cristo, parece que siempre están tensas. Siempre están casi con esta idea de pelear. Están peleados con ellos mismos, están peleados con su esposa, están peleados con el pastor, están peleados con todo el mundo. ¿Y por qué están tensas? Porque viven una vida llena de ansiedad. Y Jesús te va a decir algo categórico. Vos no podés vivir la vida que Dios tiene para vos, si vos escogés darle el control a la ansiedad. La ansiedad no te permite vivir para Cristo. La ansiedad es un muy mal amo que va a arruinar tus días.

Y no te va a permitir avanzar, no te va a permitir vivir la clase de vida del reino que Jesús quiere para vos. Y conociendo esto y el peligro de la ansiedad, Jesús te va a dar tres claves. Él te va a dar tres claves para escapar de este mal amo, de ese mal rey que está robándote el poder espiritual que el Espíritu Santo te puede dar. Y la primera que él te va a dar, te la voy a mencionar y después te voy a comprobar de dónde lo saqué, del texto. Primero, Jesús te va a decir esto. Recordá que vos sos, ¿qué dice ahí? Recordá que vos solamente sos creación, no sos el creador. Yo te dije que la ansiedad es la pretensión de tener el control. Cuando vos dejas que tu mente sea controlada por la preocupación, de fondo vos estás diciendo algo. Yo no soy creación, yo soy el creador y todo depende de quién, de mí. Eso es un peso demasiado fuerte para tus hombros y no fuiste hecho para cargar eso. Entonces, Jesús te va a decir, vos solamente sos creación, no sos el creador, sacate ese peso de tu vida. Lo segundo que te va a decir Jesús es, volvé a creer que sí le importás a Dios. Dios, tal vez en algún momento de tu vida vos creías que a Dios le importabas, pero en el camino dejaste realmente de creerlo. Maybe you even say it, pero de corazón vos no crees que vos sos importante para Dios. Tal vez vos decís, no, pastor, es que Dios está más ocupado con gente que es importante. Dios no está ocupado conmigo. Yo soy un sangano del reino, soy una hormiguita.

Dios ni se acuerda de mí. Cuando le oro, es la lista de espera. ¿Viste como cuando llamás a estos lugares que supuestamente están hechos para ayudarte y te dicen, la próxima persona que te puede atender está disponible en 38 minutos? Y a veces vos pensás que Dios es así. Y eso te lleva a decir, no, no, entonces mejor yo controlo la situación. Y eso a su vez te lleva a vivir ansioso. Jesús te dice, tenés que volver a creer que a Dios sí le importás. Es tu padre, no es un Dios alejado. Y lo tercero que te va a intentar convencer Jesús es esto. Enfocá tu energía en obedecer al Mesías. ¿Cuándo? Decímelo fuerte, bro. Te desacostumbraste. ¿Cuándo tenés que obedecer al Mesías? Hoy. ¿Sabés por qué? Vos nunca pudiste obedecer a Jesús mañana. Vos nunca pudiste obedecer a Jesús ayer. Solamente tenés una chance para obedecer a Jesús. ¿Sabés cuándo es? Hoy. Por eso Jesús va a terminar diciendo, ¿para qué te preocupás de mañana si yo no, ni vos estás ahí para poder obedecerme o no? Enfócate en lo único que podés hacer que es hoy. Entonces, siendo esto así, vamos a leer la escritura y vamos a ver cómo llegamos a esa conclusión. Lo primero que dijimos entonces, ¿cuál es la llave que Jesús te da para ser libre de la ansiedad? Si podés tomar nota, toma nota. Si estás viendo por internet o estás acá, es esta. Recordá que solamente sos creación, no el creador. Jesús te da el argumento, y te lo explico y lo leímos,

de que el resto de la creación, como los pájaros y las flores, no se preocupan. No se preocupan por nada. Y Jesús concluye, vos tampoco te tendrías que preocupar. Hay una canción que de niño aprendí en la iglesia, que hoy, de hecho, al final, con Pastor Nick la vamos a cantar, fue hecha por una cantautora canadiense-americana, que se llamaba, se llama la canción, ¿Cómo podré estar triste? Te diría el nombre de esta mujer, pero lo intenté pronunciar 20 veces, y para no quedar de ridículo, no te lo voy a decir. Ahí lo podés leer. Pero la canción comenzaba así, ¿Cómo podré estar triste? ¿Cómo entre sombras ir? ¿Cómo sentirme solo y en el dolor vivir? Si Cristo es mi consuelo, mi amigo siempre fiel, si aún las aves tienen seguro asilo en él, si aún las aves tienen seguro asilo en él. Con esa canción ya te resumí todo el primer párrafo de lo que leímos. Eso es exactamente lo que Jesús está diciendo. Ahora, Jesús te dice en el versículo 25, yo les digo, no se preocupen por la vida diaria. ¿Esto a vos te suena a consejo o te suena a orden? Jesús no te está preguntando. Entonces, te dice, oye, déjame decirte, yo sé que no es fácil, pero intenta no preocuparte. No, no, no, no, no. Él está mirándote. Si vos has recibido a Cristo en tu corazón y sos su discípulo, él te está mirando la cara y te está diciendo, es una orden de un comandante. No, ¿qué?

Decilo, no te preocupes. Y él te va a decir específicamente por qué cosa no te tenés que preocupar por la vida diaria. Te está hablando de no preocuparte por la supervivencia, bro. Te está diciendo, no te preocupes por lo que vas a comer, ni te preocupes por lo que vas a vestir. Esto está bastante profundo, porque una cosa fuera para mí, que el Mesías me dijera, bueno, no te preocupes si alguien le da un like o no a tu foto del Instagram. O no te preocupes dónde te vas a ir de vacaciones este año. O no te preocupes quién va a ganar el Mundial de Fútbol 2026. Y yo tengo una razón para no preocuparme por eso. Espero que ya la saben por qué. Jesús te está diciendo, no te podés preocupar por lo que de seguro te preocupó esta semana. ¿Cómo voy a hacer? How am I going to do this? Y él te va a hablar primero de las aves. Te va diciendo, mira, las aves, ellos no tienen un plan de trabajo muy extenso. Ellos no cosechan, no siembran. Y dice, tampoco tienen un lugar como para mantener su cosecha, porque no tienen graneros. Y te está diciendo, ellos saben que su padre celestial le va a dar lo que necesitan para vivir el día que les toca vivir. Y si eso no te convenció, te hizo mirar hacia arriba los pájaros. He says, well, look down, the flowers. And he says, look at that flower.

That flower doesn't have a stylist. That flower doesn't, he asks himself every day, how do I match, as they say out there, my colors? How do I get dressed to fashion? How do I have enough for the cold? And he says, even so, my father dresses them better than the richest king of the Old Testament, King Solomon. And Jesus is going to tell you something. If you look up and the creation, which are the birds, don't worry, and you look down and the flowers don't worry, then you don't have to worry either. Is there someone here with me this morning like this or not? I'm going to be honest. Until this week, that argument never convinced me. Because I've always heard this, right? Well, look at the flowers, look at the birds. But I say, well, wait. But the birds don't have to pay a bill, right? The flowers don't have to pay a mortgage, they don't have to pay for cars. The birds are not thinking, they don't even have the mental capacity to simulate the future, right? You, as a human being, are the only part of all creation that has the capacity to simulate future scenarios. So I said, well, Jesus, what a beautiful song, what a beautiful argument of look at the flowers, look at the birds. But, well, the bird and the flowers don't go through what I go through. And neither does yours, right? And it was until this week that I just understood it, or I think I started to understand it.

There is something that is in common between you and the flowers and you and the birds. Do you know what it is? It's that you are creation. And the birds too. And the flowers too. You are creation. And here's a difficult word, but I want you to remember it. Look at me carefully. Finitude. Finitude means limits. You didn't choose to be born. In fact, the other day Flor told me that there was a TikTok or these things that you see, I don't know, Reels, where there was someone who was complaining because he never decided to be born. Nobody asked me, said the person, right? Nobody asked me my opinion about whether I wanted to be born or not. You were not born where to be born. You were not born, you didn't decide, sorry, you didn't decide to be born, you didn't decide where to be born. You don't decide what's going to happen tomorrow. You don't control possible accidents. You don't control anyone's opinion. You don't control almost anything in life. And that can make you anxious and say, since I can't control it, I'm going to try to pretend that I can. That's where a very bad and unpleasant master called anxiety comes in. Or you can simply open your hands and say, I'm a finite, limited being.

I don't get to decide most of my life. You can open your hands and say, I think it's time for the Lord to take care of me, right? I think I can't, I have to stop putting my hands in the uncontrollable and take care of what I can today. Is there anyone here with me until tomorrow, yes or no? You're a finite being, you can't control. A list of the things I put here that are out of your control is your father's decisions, you can't control a mother's decisions, your son's decisions, possible tragedies, goodbyes, decisions of other people who left you in ruins, your past, the past of what hurt you, your future, a turn of life that now changes the direction that you thought you had to take your life. You don't control anything and you can spend all your life with your fist closed saying, this is how my life should have been and God should have done everything I wanted. But if you keep living your life like this, this is what's going to happen to you, look at me. Have you ever made a sand castle in the sea? Playing? What happened? You did it, you invested a lot of mental energy making that castle, and what happened? The water came and what did it do? What I always liked to do was step on all the castles the kids made. It was like something that gave me energy. Now they call that bullying, but at the time I thought it was funny. God has made your life in such a way that sooner or later a wave is going to come and throw everything at you, and you're going to have to make a decision, follower of Jesus.

You close your fist saying, it's not fair, it's not what I deserved, or you open your hand saying, bro, this was never under my control, God never asked me for my opinion on how the rest of the universe should work. That's why Jesus says, look at the birds, look at the flowers, you are the same, you are a created being. The only way you function well is with open hands, not with a closed fist. I'm still standing this morning. That's why Jesus is saying, remember that you are only creation, you are not the creator. If you receive that limitation and your finitude this morning, you will begin to be free. But there is a second argument that Jesus gives, which is the following, believe again that you do care about God. The text in verse 32 says so, sorry, in verse 31 it says, do not worry, he says it again, saying what we will eat, what we will drink. Verse 32, because these things dominate the thought of the unbelievers, but his heavenly Father already knows all their needs. Do you know why I think Jesus is saying that? Look at me, look at me, look at me. Jesus says, the people who do not know God assume something of God. It is that God does not care about God. Maybe there is a God out there, but he does not really care about me. And that is why you are putting your nose where no one asked you to put it. And that is why you are sick as you are. Jesus says,

anxiety is giving you a message about my Father. Anxiety is telling you, you are not interested in my Father, for my Father that is one more number. But my heavenly Father, if you have received, has anyone received Christ in their life here? Yes or no? Your heavenly Father tells you, I do care about you. And you will have to believe again that you do care about me. Do you know that God enlightened me about this with an example that I saw in my own daughter? There is a beautiful connection, with me, obviously, and my two daughters, but the oldest, who is almost five years old, an impenetrable connection. In fact, she says that she prefers me, above all the rest, because I am brown like her. She was born and she is racist, my daughter, but it was not my fault, I do not know why. No kidding here, true story. And you know that she always wants to come with me everywhere. I have a car that has more than 255,000 miles, for the glory of God, and for her that is a limousine. She does not want to drive another car other than that car. And whenever I am about to leave, and I tell her, daughter, let's go, I don't know, last week I took her to have an ice cream, and we sat there watching the cows in the field.

I love doing that with my daughter. I take her everywhere, and she always has that restlessness of thinking that I am not going to go with her, that I am going to leave her at home. Then her mental stress reaches such a point that when I say, well, daughter, let's go, she starts to say, no, no, no, don't leave me, don't leave me, and she starts to get upset, and she even forces me to shake her hand while I am putting on my shoes. Don't leave me behind. And the other time she got visibly upset, and she was crying with that kind of crocodile tear that, as a father, breaks your heart. Because I had promised her that we would go somewhere, and we were going. But she still did not believe that I was going to keep my word. So I remember that I bend down, look, follow me, I bend down and I say, daughter, what's wrong with you? And she says, I just don't want you to leave without me, she says. And I say, look at me, what did dad tell you? That we are going to go together. Then I ask her, and she says, but I don't want you to leave without me.

And I say again, look at me, what did dad tell you? And she says, that we are going to go together. And I say, and then? And she says, I don't know. Like a good woman who can't miss any conversation. And she ends up saying, I don't know. Not the woman, I mean all of you, not mine. Not mine. And this week, when I was thinking about that image, I say, of course, I understand what's going on in this girl. There is a war between her mind and her heart. Her mind knows my words. She knows that I told her that she's coming with me, and that I'm not going to let her go. But her heart is telling her something else. She's doubting my character. Dad told me something, but I don't know if he's going to fulfill it. And when I was thinking about this, I say, wow, that's what happened to me this week. So many things in my head, anxieties, decisions that I have to make everywhere, I'm afraid of making a mistake, I'm afraid of wasting time with God, with people, I'm afraid of misguiding my wife, my family, a lot of things that are now, legit, happening in my life.

And I started to feel bad, my head got stuck, when people talk to you, but you're on another planet, because you can't stop thinking about this or that. And I felt as if Jesus had taken me to the Father, and the Father asked me, what's wrong with you? And I say, I don't know, I don't know what's going to happen to me. I don't know if you're going to come with me. And he would have said, what did dad tell you? And I would have said, that you're going to be with me. And he would have said, so what? But I'm afraid that you're not coming with me and that I'm wrong. And what if I'm wrong? And it's as if the father would have said, what did dad tell you? And I didn't say, I don't know. Because with God, I always lose. Dad is coming with me. And there's a war between my mind and my heart. Of course there is. Surely there is in your life too. I know what he said, I don't know if I believe in his character. Jesus is saying something. Believe again. Believe again. Believe again. Believe again that what your dad said is true. And what does the word of God tell you? He is not like anxiety tells you. Anxiety tells you that you don't care about him. But your father knows. What does the text say? Your father knows the things that what?

That you want. No, it doesn't say that, does it? Your father knows the things that you need. Your dad knows. Believe again that he knows. And anxiety will begin to fall by itself, by its own weight. And there is a third argument, which are the last verses, which are in verse 33. Because it is, focus your energy on obeying the Messiah today. In verse 33 it says, Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and lead a just life, and he will give you all you need. Focus your energy on obeying the Messiah today. Look, anxiety steals so much mental energy. It makes you sick. It makes you tense. And it fills your head with situations that you visualize. And you are beginning to see how you would fix the situation if it were like this, how you would fix the situation if it were like that. And Jesus tells you, You have not achieved anything. Nothing! You have lost sleep. The only thing you have achieved is to lose sleep and also to lose a relationship, maybe. To lose the day, to lose your life. But you have not advanced anything in your life. Jesus says something. Look at me. You focused only on living my kingdom.

When? Tell me. Tell me again. When can you obey Jesus? Today. And you say, but what does it mean to seek the kingdom first? I'm going to tell you what it doesn't mean. Seeking first the kingdom of God does not mean that you are saying verses all day. Or thinking all day about God and God and God. Because that is a burden that no one can carry. You have to live a normal life. You have to work. You have to change diapers. You have to live. But what it does mean is that whatever Jesus speaks to you in his word, whatever Jesus speaks to you in his word that same day, today, obeying the Messiah becomes a priority for you over anything else. That is seeking first the kingdom of God. It is obeying what Jesus tells you, even though, and here I have a list of things, even though your feelings tell you something else, even though your religion or religious tradition informs you differently, even though your family and friends criticize you, even though you have to say no to something that your heart does want, even though you miss a good opportunity, even though you don't know what the next step is, even though you are afraid, even though it hurts you, obey what the Master told you today. And rest. Put your head on the pillow, my brother. And just sleep for God's glory.

Take care of living the life of the kingdom. You tell me. When? Today. I want you to stand up. Jesus is telling you that you will not be able to live the life that God has for you if you continue to give the wrong master control, anxiety. Anxiety is a bad king, a king you are not interested in. And Jesus tells you, remember that you are creation. Remember your finitude. Remember your limits. Remember that you are not the creator. And open your hand. You cannot live a life of the kingdom with your fist closed. Jesus is also telling you something. Believe again. Believe again that you are not a number more for the Father. If you have received Christ in your heart as your personal savior. God is not just a distant God. He is your Father. And your Father knows you. Not what you want, but your needs. Papa knows. Papa knows. And you can walk with the confidence that there is no distance between the words of God and the facts of God. You can rest in the character of your God. He does what he promised. Papa is not going to leave you alone at home. And finally, Jesus says, focus your energy on obeying me today. You know, that's why I was never very friendly.

I grew up in the church, obviously, and I remember so many times people saying, well, who here promises that this week he will obey God? Amen, they said. Who? There were even cards, you see, where you had to promise. You promised it. What a good Christian you were going to be. Unfortunately, after that, no one did anything. Do you know why I never made you do it? Because I don't believe in that. I don't believe that you can obey tomorrow. I don't believe that you can obey yesterday. The only thing I believe, according to what Jesus teaches me, is that you can obey, you know when? Tell me. That's the life of the kingdom. And that's why I ask you today, what is it that God spoke to you? What is it that God is speaking to your heart? To whom today is God being free from the chains of anxiety? Who today is starting to open his fist a little bit saying, I can take care of what I have to take care of, but at the same time, I'm going to stop trying to live like the all-powerful God, as the apostolic creed says, and start saying, there is an all-powerful God, and there is creation. I'm not him, I'm creation. And I'm okay with that. I'm okay with that.
