I really believe that this year will bring us many things and the best is yet to come. Also, as you heard from Pastor Pablo, today I have the privilege of bringing the word of God

and I know it will be a blessing for me while I was preparing and studying this word of the Lord also with my heart. Also, today we also begin with the 21 days of prayer and possibly there are many who still come and are consumed by the Christmas parties, the pozole, the tamales, the atole and all that delicious food that I still have in my refrigerator and possibly they forgot that today we began with this special time of prayer. Also, if you are here for the first time, welcome. We invite you to join this time with all of us. Now I want to invite you to go with me in your Bible to Hebrews chapter 10, verse 19 and while you are looking for the passage, let me tell you that today we begin a new series that we have called 21 days for a spiritual revival and when we hear the word revival, we almost always think of something big, we always think of crowds, full churches, powerful movements by God and it is that the Bible tells us of an impressive revival in the life of the disciples and other believers in the book of Acts chapter 2. It tells us that on the day of Pentecost, the disciples and other believers were celebrating the harvest festival. In case you didn't know, they were also celebrating just like us. Also, it tells us that the Holy Spirit descended on all of them and filled them with his holy presence. Also, on that day, the apostle Peter preached about Jesus and the Bible says that more than 3,000 people became and were baptized and the church began. But let me tell you something very important. A revival and a spiritual awakening never begins in the crowd. It always begins in the heart of a person

and I think that is what God wants to do in your life today. He wants to bring a spiritual revival to your life. But let me tell you, a revival cannot occur on a large scale if first No está ocurriendo a pequeña escala. Mira, pero hay una verdad que no podemos ignorar. Un aivamiento no comenzará en la vida de nuestros seres queridos si primero no comienza nuestra propia vida. Ahora mira, la palabra despertar es muy interesante. Su definición básica es el acto de despertarse del sueño, dejar de dormir, pero también significa volverse consciente de algo, es decir, volver en sí. Despertar a tu realidad y te voy a dar unos ejemplos. Despertar a la realidad de que el sueño americano no es como te lo contaron. Despertar a la realidad de que tu familia está rota, tu matrimonio está roto. Y aunque no tuviste la intención de llegar ahí, a ese punto, despertarte y darte cuenta de que tus finanzas no las manejaste bien y ahora te encuentras en un agujero. Y aunque todo esto fue un proceso, hay un momento en el que despiertas y lo ves con claridad. Muchas veces Dios usa momentos específicos para despertarnos, momentos que nos acuden, momentos que nos confrontan. Déjame contarte, a mí Dios me despertó de una manera muy clara. Cuando mi esposa y yo, Sonia, cuando fuimos a México en el 2017, recuerdo que fuimos en diciembre del 2017 para las fechas de Navidad y el Año Nuevo. Y mientras estaba allá, el Señor me mostró algo. Y es que durante las fiestas, vi a hombres perdidos en el alcohol, niños atrapados en las drogas, familias completamente destruidas. Pero lo más triste no era lo que hacían, sino que estaban alejados de Dios. En ese momento sentí que Dios abrió mis ojos y me dijo, si sigues viviendo así, ese también será tu final. Ahí entendí algo muy importante. El Señor no me estaba mostrando la vida de otros. El Señor me estaba mostrando mi propio futuro, si yo seguía viviendo esa vida que estaba viviendo. Entonces, cuando regresé a Estados Unidos, le llamé al Pastor Pablo y le dije, Pastor, estoy listo para recibir a Cristo. Yo recuerdo la primera vez que llegué acá, todavía no estábamos acá, estábamos en la capillita. Y cuando acababa el servicio, casi siempre me estaban esperando porque me querían invitar a un grupo de estudio bíblico.

Y como yo comenzaba a venir, apenas terminaba el servicio, era el primero que salía junto con mi esposa. Entonces, ese día le llamé al Pastor Pablo y le dije, ahora sí, ahora sí estoy listo. Y siendo honesto, no entendía todavía todo, no tenía todas las respuestas a mis preguntas. Pero sí sabía algo con certeza. Quería acercarme a Cristo, vivir una vida diferente y sabía que Cristo me la podía dar. Y así fue. Hoy te puedo decir que el Señor transformó mi vida. Y años después, el Señor me llamó al pastorado y ahora aquí me tienen. Y te comparto esto porque muchas de las veces el despertar espiritual no es algo agradable. Es una confrontación con nuestra vida delante de un Dios Santo. Y eso es exactamente lo que nos habla Hebreos capítulo 10. Y por eso le hemos llamado a este sermón, despertando a la santidad de Dios. Cuando comenzamos a entender la santidad de Dios, dejamos de tomar a Dios a la ligera y todo cambia. Ya no lo vemos como una opción para nuestras vidas, pero una necesidad para nuestras vidas. Acompáñame a leer ahí en tu Biblia Hebreos 10 versículo 19. Mantengámonos firmes sin titubear en las en la esperanza que afirmamos porque se puede confiar en que Dios cumplirá su promesa. Pensemos en manera de motivarnos unos a otros a realizar actos de amor y buenas acciones. No dejemos de congregarnos como lo hacen algunos sino animémonos unos a otros sobre todo ahora que el día de su regreso se acerca hasta ahí. Si tuviera que resumir todo lo que ahora leímos en una sola frase sería esta. Tenemos buenas noticias en Jesús pero para entender cuán buenas son estas noticias

necesitamos recordar algo del Antiguo Testamento. Y es que en el Antiguo Testamento Dios le pidió a Moisés que construyera un tabernáculo. Era un santuario móvil porque Dios quería habitar con su pueblo mientras andaban por el desierto. El tabernáculo tenía dos cuartos principales. El primero era el lugar santo. Ahí entraban los sacerdotes regularmente para servir a Dios y cumplir con sus responsabilidades religiosas. Luego había una cortina gruesa conocida también como el velo que separaba ese lugar del segundo cuarto y el segundo cuarto era el lugar santísimo y ahí estaba el arca del pacto que contenía la tabla de la ley que Dios mismo le dio a Moisés además de otros objetos sagrados pero lo más importante ese lugar representaba la presencia misma santa de Dios. Ahí sólo podía entrar

el sumo sacerdote una vez al año para presentar el sacrificio para cubrir los pecados del pueblo y ahora el velo tenía un significado mostraba que el pecado separaba al ser humano de la presencia santa misma de Dios. El pueblo quería acercarse a Dios pero no podía hacerlo libremente. El velo impidía el acceso directo a Dios porque la humanidad por el pecado de la humanidad pero gracias a Dios la historia no terminó ahí. Te dije que tenemos las buenas noticias en Jesús en el tabernáculo los sacerdotes solamente podían hacer los sacrificios por el pueblo y esto lo tenían que hacer una vez al año y eso solamente lo que estaba causando era que te estaba recordando el pecado que habías cometido y solamente te estaba cubriendo por un tiempo. Entonces cuando Jesús

fue crucificado en la cruz el velo del templo se rasgó Jesús logró lo que ningún otro sacrificio podría lograr Jesús logró lo que ninguna otra religión podía lograr ni siquiera nuestra buena vida moral pudo lograr. Jesús pagó el precio de mi pecado y tu pecado con la sangre que derramó en la cruz nuestros pecados fueron perdonados y ahora Dios nos ve limpios gracias al sacrificio que hizo Jesús en la cruz Jesús ha proporcionado un camino a la salvación Jesús abrió el camino a la presencia de Abba hoy tenemos acceso directo a Dios no necesitas a ningún intermediario no necesitas a ningún sacerdote y déjame decirte que ni siquiera me necesitas a mí para que tengas acceso directo a Dios Jesús restauró nuestra relación

And if you have already done so, look, the text encourages us to approach God with confidence at every moment, to have a personal relationship with Him, an authentic relationship with Him. We must continue to cling to Jesus in every situation, because God is faithful, He fulfills promises. He Himself makes us that invitation. Look, our response has to be to remain faithful, to congregate, as we are doing today,

to make Sunday, or the day of the group of life, as a non-negotiable day, to not miss it. This way we will be able to continue to grow in our faith, this way we will be able to grow in unity with the Church, and to be accountable on the final day. In addition, we can continue to encourage each other at every moment. Look, in these seven verses that we have just read, we can witness a positive atmosphere, full of good news, and hope for the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. But the author of Hebrews is now giving us a very serious warning. He reminds us that rejecting the sacrifice of Jesus has eternal consequences. Look, let's read Hebrews 10, verses 26-27. Because if we continue to sin on purpose after having received the knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that covers those sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God's judgment, and the violent fire that will consume His enemies. What does this mean? Well, the text is giving us a clear warning to persevere in faith. And I ask you a question, what are the warnings for? Well, the warnings are used to warn, prevent, and protect from risks, dangers, or negative consequences. When my daughter is always jumping around in the armchairs, Camila has four eyes, I tell her to calm down because she is going to fall, and it seems like I'm telling her, let's go, let's go again. She doesn't listen to me, she doesn't listen to me, she keeps jumping, she keeps jumping, until she falls and starts crying. And then I told her, daughter, I told you you were going to fall, but you didn't listen to me. The warnings are used to protect from risks, dangers, or negative consequences. Now, the Bible calls us to persevere in our relationship with Christ until the last day. Because the final judgment is near. Persevering does not mean that everything will be easy and that everything will be pink. It means to remain faithful and firm even when it is difficult.

We must persevere in our faith when criticism begins, when family, friends, or co-workers do not understand our decision to follow Jesus. When they begin to see you differently, it means that you are doing things right. We must persevere even when following Jesus means going against your traditions, against your culture. We must persevere in difficult times when we face problems, or tests, or even persecution. And the text tells us that we can do it with confidence, not by our strength, but by the Holy Spirit. He will sustain us until the end. Jesus already paid the price that you and I could not pay, and thanks to him we have direct access to God and we can persevere in his presence. Look, let me tell you my story. All my life I grew up, dentro de la religión católica, casi hasta los 23 años, y siendo honesto, era pura religión, pero no era una relación. Entonces te conté cómo fue que Dios abrió mis ojos y me di cuenta de mi pecado, me di cuenta que estaba separado de Dios y que solamente Cristo podía restaurar la relación conmigo y Dios. Entonces en el 2018 entregué mi vida a Cristo y de repente cuando comencé a venir acá a Cross Church, de repente familiares, amigos, compañeros de trabajo se empezaron a dar cuenta, la verdad que no sé ni cómo, posiblemente ahí estaban viendo solamente en el Facebook a ver cuándo me miraban para para criticar, y comenzaron las críticas. Me llamaban el aleluya, me llamaban el hermanito, hasta incluso a veces me decían ahí viene el pastorcito y déjame decirte que eso ni siquiera eran halagos, eran burlas o por lo menos así yo los entendía, y ahí mi querido amigo me di cuenta que seguir a Jesús hay un precio que pagar, y te puedo hacer una pregunta a ti, ¿estás dispuesto a pagar el precio por seguir a Jesús? ¿O le vas a hacer caso a las críticas? Y yo he conocido mucha gente ahora que Dios me ha dado la oportunidad de ser pastor, he conocido a mucha gente que en tiempos difíciles, en tiempos de pruebas, estos amigos que siempre te la pasan criticando, no están ahí, pero te puedo decir algo, la presencia de Dios sigue estando ahí porque Cristo ya abrió el camino, a la presencia de Abba podemos estar ahí, ya no somos huérfanos, tenemos un hogar en Cristo Jesús, por lo

menos así fue como yo me sentí también, cuando estaba lejos de Él, vivía sin propósito, lleno de vacíos, mis vacíos estaban, mi vida estaba llena de vacíos, literalmente no había ningún propósito en mi vida hasta que conocí a Jesús, mi vida comenzó a cambiar poco a poco, mira pero decidí aferrarme a mi relación con Cristo, Jesús me estaba ofreciendo una vida diferente, recuerdo cuando regresé le dije al pastor Pablo hey ya no, le llamé le dije ya estoy listo para recibir porque siendo honesto ya no quería seguir viviendo esa vida lejos de Dios en pecado y simplemente ya estaba listo para tener una nueva vida y sabía que Jesús me la podía dar, pero déjame decirte algo muy importante, cuando decidí seguir a Jesús no fue sólo cambiar de iglesia o adoptar una nueva costumbre, fue reconocer que mi relación con Dios estaba rota y que sólo Jesús podía restaurarla y aunque vinieron las críticas, la presión para volver atrás, entendí algo muy importante, entendí que volver atrás no era una opción porque abandonar el evangelio es extremadamente peligroso y eso es exactamente lo que nos advierte el autor de Hebreos, el peligro de abandonar las buenas noticias, abandonar las buenas noticias no siempre comienza así de golpe, comienza poco a poco cuando dejamos de perseverar en nuestra fe y cuando comenzamos a justificar el pecado y comenzamos a darle rienda suelta a nuestros deseos carnales, a nuestros deseos pecaminosos y comenzamos a pecar voluntariamente y empezamos a decir que es tanto es tantito, nadie se va a dar cuenta, dejamos de someternos a la autoridad de Cristo, descuidamos nuestra relación con él y eso es exactamente lo que el autor de Hebreos se refiere cuando habla de pecar voluntariamente, cuando sabes la verdad, conoces el evangelio y sabes lo que Jesús hizo por ti en la cruz pero con tus acciones demuestras que Jesús no es suficiente para tu vida y déjame decirte esto con amor, eso es extremadamente peligroso porque cuando pecamos voluntariamente no es, no estás pecando por error, no estás pecando porque dices oh yo no sabía que no tenía que hacer eso, acá literalmente el texto lo que nos está diciendo es que cuando pecamos voluntariamente es una decisión consciente de alejarnos de Cristo, es volver al lugar de cual Jesús

But my friend, Jesus came to pay that price. That last sacrifice was made by Jesus. And Jesus is telling you, there is no more. Jesus is giving you that opportunity today to come to Him. Look, did you know that a person can believe in Jesus intellectually and still go to hell? Maybe you are saying, ouch. The truth is, I am honest, when I was studying this text, it also came to me. Even the Bible tells us that the demons also believe in Jesus Christ. The problem is not in the knowledge of God. The problem is not submitting to His authority. Maybe you have had an experience with Jesus, and you have played with the idea of being a Christian, but you have not submitted to the authority of God. You have not given Him complete control of your life. You continue to make your own decisions, regardless of the consequences of your sin. And my dear friend, the judgment of God is near. Did you know that one day we will all leave this world? Either when Jesus comes a second time, or if He calls us to His presence. And the question I have for you is, where will you spend eternity? In the presence of God?

Or in a place that the Bible calls hell, for an eternity away from God? Look, the point that the author of Hebrews makes is this. You can be in the church every day of your life, you even know verses from memory, but if you know all this, and yet you reject Jesus, you continue to live without salvation, and you continue to live in sin, and there is nothing that can be done for you, because you are rejecting the voluntary sacrifice that Jesus made for you on the cross. That is why abandoning good news has eternal consequences. Look at what Hebrews 10, 26, 27 says. There is no longer any sacrifice that covers those sins. There is only the terrible expectation of the judgment of God, and the violent fire that will consume His enemies. This means that if you have rejected Jesus, there is nothing else that can be done for your sins to be forgiven, and you will face the wrath of God's judgment. This is also a clear reminder not to reject Jesus, and not to abandon the good news of the Gospel. To be able to be in the holy presence of Abba. Only in Jesus there is salvation. He is our only hope. Apart from Him, there is nothing else. Look at what John 3, 36 says. Those who believe in the Son of God have eternal life. Those who do not obey the Son will never have eternal life, but remain under the wrath of God's judgment. John 3, 36. Jesus is the only way to escape the wrath of God. Let me tell you something. Jesus received the wrath of God when He was crucified on the cross. The wrath that belonged to us.

Jesus said, I love you, I will take that place for you. Jesus received the wrath of God. Because it is true, God is love, but God is also a just God. He sent His Son for love, for us. So now we have to take a step forward. Look, I'm finishing with this. About seven years ago, I remember having a conversation with Pastor Pablo. In one of the restaurants nearby, I don't remember which one it was, but I remember that he was disciplining me when I came to Christ. I was aware that he was a man who followed Jesus. And I remember that I asked him, Pastor, I imagine that being a pastor must be very difficult because I believe that you are always in everyone's sight, seeing at what time you fall so that later they can judge you. And I remember that he answered me with a phrase that to this day continues to help me. The one who does nothing should... How do you say it? Yes, that's right. The one who does nothing should, does not fear anything. And that's when I understood that holiness is not just being there apart in a room. It's not... Closing yourself to holiness is when in private you are faithful, you are obedient to Jesus, there in private where no one sees you, that's when we truly show our holiness. And we can do that because Jesus already paid the price of our sins and we can have what Jesus offers us. Look, I understood that holiness is not external perfection

or fulfilling a list of rules or being locked up only, but an obedience daily to God, even in private. And I knew that I could not achieve it alone, but in Jesus Christ I could achieve it. I'm going to ask everyone to stand up and everyone close their eyes. I'm going to ask the leaders to come in. Close your eyes, no one is watching. I have a question for you. How will you get to the final day? How will Jesus find you when he comes again for the second time? Or he calls you to his presence? Maybe today you are here and you have had an experience with Jesus, but you are not sure that God has forgiven you of all your sins, nor are you sure of what awaits you when you are in front of him, and maybe in your heart you have even thought of going back. Or maybe today is the first time you hear that Jesus died for you on the cross, that his blood was shed for the forgiveness of your sins, and today God is calling you to give up your life and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. My dear friend, salvation is a gift that God gives us, it is not earned, it is not bought, and maybe you already know Jesus, you have accepted him as your Lord and Savior, but you have strayed from him and are living in disobedience. Today the Lord calls you again. The Lord wants to awaken you again to the holiness of God. The Lord wants you to return to his presence and to abandon that sin that you have voluntarily been committing. If Jesus spoke to you today, in a moment I will ask you to come in.

Why don't you come to him? We just heard the good news. My dear friend, I don't know how you received this word, maybe you came to hear a prophetic word, maybe you came to hear a word that would be good for your job, good for your life, but literally the word that God wants to give you today is that you return to the holiness of God, that you return to the holy presence, that you continue to cling to your faith. Now I'm going to ask you to come in, to be brave. I'm going to invite you to come to the front. If today God, if Jesus of Nazareth spoke to your heart, in a moment we are going to sing a song. Why don't you come in? Jesus received the punishment for you on the cross. He already paid the price for your sin. The sin separated us from God, but Jesus came to pay the price for our sins. And he paid for it on the cross. He received all the wrath of God and he has opened a way to the presence of Abba. Why don't you come? If Jesus spoke to you today, I'm going to ask you to be brave. Look, years ago, I remember when I came for the first time, I looked to see who was looking at me, but I felt something in my heart and I decided not to listen to criticism because I knew that Jesus was inviting me to a new life and the Lord called me to his presence and I want to live there forever. Permítame orar. Abba, gracias en el nombre precioso de tu Hijo Jesús. Gracias te damos Señor porque tú nos das la salvación en Jesús. Nos abres el camino a ti. Señor, gracias porque nos amaste tanto que dices a tu único Hijo para todo aquel que crea en Él. No se pierda más tenga vida eterna Señor. Gracias porque Jesús es ese sacrificio que Él mismo se entregó en la cruz. Y cuando se entregó en la cruz, ese velo que nos separaba de ti, se ha roto Señor. Y hoy podemos entrar con confianza, podemos entrar con valentía a tu presencia Señor. Podemos habitar en tu casa hoy y para siempre. Tenemos la certeza de la salvación en Cristo Jesús. Gracias por lo que estás haciendo acá Señor. Gracias por tu pueblo, por los corazones que hoy has hablado papá.

Gracias porque es una nueva oportunidad de venir a tu presencia. Gracias te damos Señor, bendícenos en este año nuevo. Te pido para que acá nos hagas una iglesia no llena de reglas Señor. No que queramos hacer cosas que están fuera de nuestro alcance Señor. Pero te pido para que nos hagas una iglesia que sea humilde, una iglesia que siempre busca de ti. Una iglesia que te sirve, una iglesia que siempre quiere estar en tu presencia. Alejada del pecado, alejada de las cosas que nos sacan de la carrera. Una iglesia que quiere caminar en obediencia este año Señor. Porque estamos ansiosos de la segunda venida de Jesús. Gracias Papá. Todo esto te damos. Gracias en el nombre de Cristo Jesús. Amén.
