What on Earth am I here for? | Pastor Terrence Mullings
Questions about purpose? Watch this!
You know what? I got the iPhone here. It overheats. Normally to heat up water, you put it in what? A kettle. Well, I know the iPhone can do this. It can be mapped. So what if I decided I want this iPhone to actually be a kettle and heat up this water? Yeah, you're shocked. Because what I'm doing is using the product for something it wasn't created for. Foundational Scripture, two of them today. Matthew 25 verse 23 says this. His master replied, well done, good and shouted out, faithful. That's what I want to hear when I stand before the throne of God. Well done, good and faithful. Not faithless, but a faithful servant. You've been faithful with a few things. And now I'm going to put you in charge of many things. And so God's going to say, if we hear well done, good and faithful, come in and share in your master's happiness, happiness. I want to spend eternity, not in sadness, but in happiness. And I believe that this verse tells us that the decisions we make today will determine the story we live for eternity. That's huge. The decisions we make while we're here on earth will determine the story that we live for eternity. Second Corinthians, second foundational Scripture, chapter 5 verse 10 says this. For we must all, someone say all. We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due to us for the things done while we were here in the body, whether we did good things or we did bad things. Now I don't know about you, but when I see this word judgment seat of Christ, that's a little bit scary, can we be honest? Because I don't want to stand before a judge, I don't want judgment. But if you look at the Greek word, the Greek word for judgment seat of Christ is actually the word bima.
It's B-E with that little thing above it, M-A. And it wasn't a courtroom of condemnation. In Greco-Roman times, what it was, it was actually a platform for evaluation and reward. Someone say reward. So it's another thing to stand before a judge who's going to condemn you guilty or stand before a judge more like, imagine you've run the race of the Olympics and you finally get to stand in this place of reward, like an award ceremony, where you get to get the prize for the hard work that you've done. This is what the judgment seat of Christ is. So I want to say it like this, there are two questions you're going to receive, two judgments. Number one, you're going to be judged whether you get in or you have to stay out. And that is where we spend eternity, everyone say where, is going to revolve around one question. What did I do with Jesus? With Jesus, but not where, but how I spend eternity will depend on what did I do with the few things that God gave me? What did I do with my time here on earth? Father, we thank you for your presence that's here this morning. God, I pray that as we dive into this purpose, why we're here, that above my voice, God, that we would hear your voice. Speak Holy Spirit to the very specifics of the situation, the continuity of our calling in life. May we hear your voice and we ask it in Jesus' name and all God's people shout it, amen. Come on, all God's people shout it, amen. Come on, clap your hands if you love Jesus in this place.
I want to start with a question this morning and it is, who here is studying right now? Hands up if you're studying, hands up. Not that many. Anyone over the years enjoy studying? Come on, hands up if you enjoy studying. We're going to pray for you after the service, if you love studying. Actually, it wasn't my whole schooling life, but by the end of my schooling, I enjoyed studying. In fact, I graduated from high school, the Escuela Segundo, in 1998. Was that a shock or am I old? What's going on there? I graduated from Karingal High School in Wagga Wagga, Australia in 1998. And when I, from 1996 to 1998, over those last two years of schooling, my father, my Jamaican father would ask me one question, one question. He would say, Terrence, is what you're doing right there going to be on the final exam paper? So here's the question he used to ask me, is what you're doing, will this be on the final exam? Will this be on the final exam? And here's the reason my dad used to ask me that question because I was that guy who suffered from a little bit of distraction. I'm easily distracted.
I don't know if it's because I had a little bit of ADHD or if I had a touch of the tism. I don't know. I don't know what it was. But I mean, if I saw the keyboard, like I could get lost on this keyboard for around about two to three hours because I just love playing music, love writing songs. In fact, that last little tag, we were singing, Holy are you, Lord, chains will fall. That's actually a song that... I wrote just worshipping after one service one day. And so because my study desk was right next to the piano, I'd get distracted. Or we actually lived in Wagga Wagga right next to the high school. So across the road was a high school open basketball court. Anyone could go and use it. So I'd go over there, you know, shoot a few step back threes, do a few double pump dunks. Not sure if that last part was true, but it makes for a good story. And I would get distracted. And most of the time I'd be watching a TV show and every time I was doing something in those last two years, my dad would ask me,
Terrence, will this be on the final exam? Will this be on the final exam? And he was his point. If it's not going to be on the final exam, that's gonna make a very big difference between whether you get into your desired course, into medicine or not. Don't waste time on it now. Because if you study now, you can play later. If you study now, you can play later. And I'm so glad that I heeded my father's advice because by the end of 1998, when I graduated, I did graduate with a 90.15. Now the equivalent here in America would be a weighted GPA of 4.4, 4.4 GPA. Come on, I did well. Clap your hands, it makes me feel good. And I was able to get into study. I actually wanted to get into dentistry. Obviously I'm not doing that right now, but it was worth studying, kids. And I got the opportunity to step into, and here's the reason why I say that. I was able to step into what I wanted to do. And most people live their life without ever asking that question. Will this, what I'm doing right now, be on the final exam paper of life? Because there will be a final exam paper as I read those scriptures,
where we will all stand before God on that final day. And I wanna tell you, the question will not be, how successful were you? How much money did you have in your bank account? How many followers did you have on TikTok? Did you blow up on YouTube? No, no, God's not gonna ask you. How many services did you preach, Terrence? No, he's gonna ask you. Here's what he's not gonna ask you. How well did you do what you did? No, he's gonna ask you, did you do what I called you to do? Did you actually do what I called you to do? Worse still, I believe, even says for ministers, hey, I did this, this many people. God will say, I never knew you, I never knew you. And I think it's a very sobering question, did you do what I created you to do? In fact, that's why we put on Destiny Steps, because I believe a lot of people come to church, and I think the reason why 85% of the church is not as effective as we should be is because we don't know why we're here. We think the pastor knows why he's here, and the musicians know why they're here, but 85% of the church, do you know why you're here? So I wanna encourage you, get to Destiny Steps this Saturday because there's two great days in a person's life, the day you're born, the day you discover why. We wanna help you discover what on earth am I here for,
because then you will not just live on accident, now you're gonna start to live by assignment. And they're two different things, not on accident, but on assignment. And so if you don't wanna stand before God and not have the right things to say, let me give you three thoughts of how you can discover what on earth am I here from. Three thoughts, because at the end of the day, we don't wanna hear, oh, that was a bad job, buddy. Not well done, but well done, good end, faithful. Write this down as number one. The three keys to discover why God placed you here, number one is you gotta find the Father, find the Father. If you wanna know why something was created, you do not ask the product, you ask the manufacturer. You gotta go back to the maker to see why did the creator create this thing? Let me illustrate it like this. Hands up here, who loves gifts? Who loves gifts? Come on, ladies, tell the truth. Some men like gifts as well. In fact, my wife's love language is gift-giving. The only problem is I'm not very good at it, as she's pointed out many times that I'm not that good at giving gifts. Well, I want you to know, well, it was our anniversary yesterday, 18 years married.
Come on, look at this sweet, beautiful thing that God has blessed me with. I am a blessed man. I took that last night because I did take her out to dinner last night, Gerard, I remembered. Took her out to her favorite restaurant. And in fact, I do have a trip booked for the next three days and I'm taking her away to the beach for the next three days. So if you're trying to reach me, don't. I'll be very busy hanging out with my wife, praying, praying, praying and worshiping the Lord. Move on, Taryn. She said, move on. I gotta say this because my wife has told you that I mess up when it comes to buying gifts. Lakeisha's a great friend of ours and Emma's and always reminds me and texts me and I love it. Actually, one of the couples is encouraging me all the time. So here's what I did. This Christmas, I'm like, I'm not gonna mess this up. And in fact, I went to buy her a gift at Christmas, but it was late. And she didn't have a gift at Christmas and she was really mad at me, but I was working on something. Because what I ended up getting my wife for Christmas, even though it was late, drum roll one more time. Drum roll, drum roll, drum roll. Come on, everyone, drum roll.
I bought my wife a brand new Range Rover. Oh! Range Rover lookalike. It's actually a Kia. Ain't no pastor got money for that. Praise the Lord. I was able. Some of you are like, dang, pastor. No, no, no, that's not how we roll around here. But I do need a new car if anyone's searching. No, actually, this is the first car we've ever purchased. First car at 45 years old, brand new. We're still paying it off, of course. But you know, I wanted to bless my wife because she deserves it. Who knows she deserves it, amen? And she wanted to say, Terrence, you can't say that, it's not FPU approved. So yeah, we're being good stewards. But here's the reason why I say that, because now that we bought this Kia and that thing was expensive. Praise the Lord. If something breaks on it, who knows, I'm not gonna try and fix it myself. Because I'm not a handyman. I am the man that handyman the tools. Yeah, yeah. That's the type of handyman I am. But I'm not gonna try and fix that thing.
That's too important. Who knows, instead of trying to fix it, I'm gonna take it back to the manufacturer. I'm not gonna take the car to Ikea. We actually bought some stuff from Ikea. We could go to Ikea. No, I'm not taking it to Ikea. I'm taking it to Kia. Why do I take it to the manufacturer? Because the manufacturer knows the purpose it was created. It has the parts to be able to fix it and make this thing, should it break in a bit and not with that price. It knows how to fix it. I wanna tell you just like that. If you want to know the purpose of a product, you gotta take it back to the manufacturer. If you want to know the purpose of your life, you gotta go back to the maker. You gotta go back to the creator. His name is Jesus. I don't want anyone grateful that Jesus has created us. God has created us in His image. If we ever need to repair a part, we take it back to the maker or go back to the manual. And the manual is the word of God. And I want you to know this morning that there is a manufacturer's warranty on your life. If you feel there's any area of your life that is broken, broke, and disgusted,
if you feel you've been used and abused, I want you to know you can come back to the maker. He can restore all the years that you think you have lost. He can redeem your life from the pit. And I believe that there has been a recall on your life today where God says, come back to the father, find the father, and I will make you as good as new. I will redeem your life and place you on the throne and remind you that you're a child of God. Come on, child of God, make some noise in this place. He wants to fix what's been broken, heal every hurt, forgive every sin. This is what God does. If you want to know the purpose of a product, you don't go to the product. You go to the manufacturer, the manufacturer. Well, let me illustrate it like this. This is an iPhone. Now, if you keep it in a case, anyone got an iPhone, raise your hand? Okay, when you got an iPhone, who knows, when you keep it in a case, sometimes it can get hot, it can overheat, true? And so you got to take it out of the case to cool it down. Now, if this thing gets hot, let me tell you something else. I, every time I come up here, my throat gets a little bit sore by the 11 a.m. and the 1 p.m. service.
So when I have this water, when I go to drink this water, it's always cold. And who knows, because the water's cold, I wish I had warm water. So what if I decided, you know what? I got the iPhone here, it overheats. Normally to heat up water, you put it in what, a kettle? Well, I know the iPhone can do this, it can be mapped. So what if I decided I want this iPhone to actually be a kettle and heat up this water? Yeah, you're shocked. Because what I'm doing is using the product for something it wasn't created for. And you know what that is called? The wrong use. You know what that's called? Abuse. And I tell you, a lot of us are abusing our bodies and abusing our lives because we are using it for something that God didn't create. And God says, you need to come back to the manufacturer today. You need to find the Father and realize what I created you for. Some people have been pouring stuff on your life and trying to abuse you. But today, rivers of living water are coming from the Father in heaven to restore and redeem, amen. Can I get an amen?
And for those worried, it is an old iPhone that doesn't work anymore. So no comments in the comment section in Jesus' name. Come on. You do not decide your purpose. You need to discover your purpose. And you discover your purpose by going back to the manufacturer, the maker, and his name is the Father God in heaven. This is the point. If you don't, you will use it incorrectly. That's called ab-use. You know, during my 40-day fast, I had to go back to the maker, and I had to go back to his manual, which is called the Word of God. And as I went back to the manual, there were about three, actually there's probably about 30 scriptures that shaped my life, and actually are the things that have shaped me to who I am today, doing what I'm doing today. I want to give you a few of those right now as we talk about finding the Father. This is point one, the first key. If you don't know how to find the Father, you'll never find your purpose. Write this down. Jeremiah 1.5. Take a photo on the screen if you like. Here's what God says. Before I formed you in the womb. Some of you think you're here by accident. You might have been a surprise to your parents, but you were not a surprise to God. Because before he formed you in the womb, the Bible says that he knew you. Out of intimacy came identity. Before you were born, I set you apart. So identity was first know you, and then what you're supposed to do. I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations. You will never discover your destiny until you first discover your identity. Watch this. Psalm 139 says this, verse 13. For you, God, created my inmost beings. In fact, the one who knit you together in your mother's womb was not your mother or what your father did. It was actually God himself. And here's what God says in verse 16. Your eyes, O holy God, saw my unformed body and some of the days. No, no. How many? Every single one of the days of my life were written in your book before one of them came to pass. When you read the Bible, it starts in Genesis 1 in the beginning.
And you need to know before the beginning, God wrote you into his book. You are not an assignment, an accident. You are not a mistake. God thought of you. God wanted you. God formed you in your mother's womb, and he wrote a bestselling story in his book. And the reason why some of you are not living a bestselling story is because you refuse to stay on script. You've got to get in the book. Get your eyes out of Facebook. Get your eyes out of Instagram. Instagram, tell me who I really am. And get your face in the book. Realize what the author wrote for you. And I want to tell you, he has pages upon pages of what he wants to do in and through you. But you've got to find yourself in the book, in the book, in the book. There is a manufacturer's warranty on your life, but you've got to get into the manual to discover how, where, who, why, and what. The manual is the Bible. And here's the thought. You are not random. You are not an accident. You are not a mistake. You were created in the image of God, created by God, and for God. Come on, let's say that together. You were created in the image of God, by God, and for God. The imago Dei. This is who you are. That's why you don't find purpose by trying to look inward. You find purpose by looking upwards. You've got to look to heaven. I'm looking to heaven from where my help comes from. I'm looking to the Father. This is why. In Genesis 1.26 it says, So God created mankind. Who created mankind? In his own image. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In the image of God, he created the male and female. Niños y niñas, he created them. Upward, we're saved by his Spirit. And this is the most important thing. You will never find your purpose until, number one, you find the Father. You'll never find your purpose until you find the Father. Are you taking notes? Alright, write that down. Number one, it's to find the Father. Number two, once you find the Father, and the only way to find the Father is actually to follow the Son. Follow the Son. I'm not talking about the Sun in the sky. No, I'm talking about S-O-N. This is so important. Jesus didn't just come to save you. Jesus came to show you the way back to the Father. Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. In fact, Colossians 1.5 says this. The Son, Jesus, is actually the image of the invisible God. If you want to know what God looks like, look at the Son. He wants to show you what it means to live on purpose. You don't just find the Father, but you follow the Son. You don't just find the Father, you follow the Son. He is the image of the firstborn of all creation, the image of the invisible God. Here's another scripture, Luke 19.10. For the Son of Man, what's his name? Jesus came to do what? To seek and to save those who were lost. And you might not think you are lost,
but the Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So you were born again. into sin i was born into sin and sin doesn't just make you bad sin makes you dead because of sin there has been a rip in the relationship r i p when someone's dead what do they say they are r i p let me say what this because of sin relationship has been lost our relationship lost i i identity has been distorted identity has been confused and p purpose has been lost purpose has been lost because of sin and this is why jesus came and this is why you need to know identity is important because if you wrongly diagnose your identity you will wrongly prescribe your destiny if you wrongly diagnose who you think you are you will go out and do the wrong thing because if you wrongly diagnose your identity you will wrongly prescribe your destiny the prodigal son that was his father's boy he had an inheritance from his father but because he wrongly diagnosed his identity because of a mistake because of a sin sin doesn't make you bad sin makes you dead so the guy who was once a son goes out squanders all the money and watch this he didn't just lose provision he lost perspective because the bible says here's what he said about himself in luke 15 he says i am no longer worthy to be called your son make me like one of your servants i am no longer worthy to be called you some make me like one of your hired servants hang on i thought you were a son why are you reducing your life to servitude can i tell you when you lose purpose identity is reduced to servitude now don't get me wrong we are called to serve can i tell you the one scripture i don't really love was the first scripture i don't want to hear well done good and faithful servant as a black guy i don't like being called servant being honest because there is something that's negative about the word to me but watch this is what god said to me terence your position is son seated at the right hand of the father but your posture is servant my position is son but my posture has to be servant because jesus came to seek and to save the lost serve one another that's why jesus didn't come with a title king of kings he didn't come with a title he came with a towel to wash the disciples feet this is what qualifies jesus a servant king this is what makes the difference with him posture is servant but position my identity is son any sons and daughters of the most high god in this house who know who you are and this is why the only way to find the father is to follow the son in a relationship with him and jesus says i am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me jesus is our gps someone say gps our god positioning system he's our god positioning system we only get to the father
through him because jesus reminds us who we are that's why he said the disciples don't just fish for fish matthew 4 19 come come follow me and i'm gonna make you so much better than you are you have a greater purpose than just fishing for fish i've called you to fish for people and the bible says immediately they left their nets and they followed this jesus because they knew following jesus would lead to a life of purpose and the two great days the day you're born and the day you discover your why jesus says in john 4 34 my food someone say my food this is the scripture when i went on my 40 day fast in october and november of 2014 this is the scripture that made me realize how i could do this now when i say 40 day fast i'm talking about no food just liquids three days no liquids no food seven days only water i needed to find the father and i needed to see the model that the son jesus did because jesus also fasted for 40 days i needed clarity on my purpose and clarity on my why and in that moment god spoke and he's what what's this he says my food do you know food fuels you you can't live too long without food and but god says jesus is speaking my food what fuels me is to do the what to do the will of the father and to do what and to finish and to finish his work some of you have started god's will but the reason why you're not being sustained is because you won't finish the very thing that god started in you and you got to realize god is both the author and the finisher of your story when you are living on purpose you will be energized when you are not living on purpose you will not have energy to do what god has called you to do you get disempowered, you get disillusioned. Do you remember the story about David in the Bible? David, the Bible says in 2 Samuel 11, it says in the springtime, what happens in the springtime? It was the time when kings do what? Kingsmen go to war, but instead of going to war, here's what David did. The Bible says, David instead sent out Joab, the king's men and the whole Israelite army, and they destroyed the Ammonites and they besieged Rabbah. Now watch this, David was meant to go,
David didn't go, he sent someone else. Did they win or did they lose? They won, because God's purposes will always prevail. But what happened to David? Do you realize that when David stayed in Jerusalem, he stood on a balcony and saw someone he wasn't supposed to see. He sees Bathsheba, steals her, rapes her, takes the guy's wife, he sent out into battle to do the right thing, how dishonorable of David. Can I tell you, when kings stop doing what kings should do, kings will start doing what kings should not do. When David stopped what he should have been doing, which was going to war, living on his purpose, he started finding himself desecrating the very purpose for which he was created. And I wanna tell you, the reason why some of you are getting into so much mess is because you have not found the Father and you're not walking in step following the Son, doing what God has called you to do. And this is why we're putting on Sons Conference, because men, the reason why you're on that internet, the reason why you're into the pornography, into the gambling, and our lives are falling apart is because we do not understand that God has placed a lion inside of us and he wants us to roar. You gotta find your purpose again. You gotta get your fight back.
Sons and daughters are waiting on you. Your wife is waiting on you. A whole generation and city is waiting for the men to find their purpose and remember Simba. Remember who you are. Can I tell you, there is a reason why Simba, when his Uncle Scar lied and got him expelled from the Pride Lands, he's here living in an identity, thinking he's like Pumba and Timo. You are not like them. There is a lion inside of you. That is not who you are. And there was a moment when Rafiki comes and says, Simba, look, Simba, you do not find purpose from looking in. You find purpose. He looked into the rivers of living water. This is what the word of God is. The Bible says, looking at the mirror of the word. And he looks and he sees a reflection and realize, whoo, that's my father. And he says, he looks up now and he sees the reflection of his father and he says, remember who you are. There is something significant when a man starts to find his purpose and starts to remember that he's been made in the image of God, that he is the second born of creation
with Jesus being the first born. There is a roar that comes inside of him. And can I tell you, men, you better find yourself registered on May 30th in this house because we have a conference and I have a word for you and God has a word for you to awaken the giant inside of you. And he goes back and he rescues his people because that's what men do when they discover who they are. You better clap your hands in this place, men. Don't sit there silent. We ain't no sissies in this house. We're men of God. Don't play with me. You will lose your strength when you're not living on purpose. Ladies, if you're married, withhold sex until they register. No, I'm playing, I'm playing, don't do that. Don't do it. That is unbiblical, Emma. Scratch that from the recording. Back to Jesus. The Bible says, no, seriously, can I encourage you, ladies, get your sons, get your uncles, get your husbands, men, don't let your wife have to register you. Don't buy the Range Rover too late, the Kia.
Jesus lived, watch this, Jesus lived for 30 years, 30 years before he stepped out for three years of ministry. Can I tell you, the world has got it wrong. We will spend three years studying for 30 years of ministry. God says, no, no, no, no, listen, Jesus' model was 30 years. And the difference between 30 years of discovering who he was, identity, he hadn't healed the sick, hadn't raised the dead, hadn't preached his first sermon, what's this? Hadn't cast out, did nothing. And there was one moment that shifted Jesus from identity to destiny. Do you know what it was? Do you know what the moment that transitioned and shifted the season for Jesus, shout it out if you know, baptism. The Bible says at 30 years old, after fasting for 40 days, he comes and the Bible says he gets baptized Can I tell you, let me just show you what Jesus did during the 30 years, first of all. He says, John 5, 19, Jesus gave the answer, very truly I say to you, the son can do nothing by himself. He can only do what he sees the, this is why I said, the first step of discovering your purpose, you've got to find the father. Jesus shows you only do what you see the father doing. Here's what Hebrews 12, 2 says, looking onto Jesus who is the author and the finisher of
our faith for the what set before him. For the, can I tell you, joy is in your purpose. He endured the cross, he did what? The power to endure what you need to endure is when you're living on purpose, despising it's shame. If you've walked in shame, do you know walking in your purpose will help you overcome shame? And he's set down at the right hand of the throne of God, can I tell you, eternal destiny and eternal reward is in your purpose. When you discover your purpose, you discover everything and watch Matthew 3 now, let's go to Matthew 3, it says this, as soon as Jesus was baptized, when? This is baptism Sunday, baptism Sunday, the difference between Jesus diagnosing his identity and prescribing and stepping into an eternal powerful destiny was this step called baptism and it says he went up out of the waters. Now watch what happens, Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water, at that moment heaven was open, number one, he saw the spirit descend, number two, descending like a dove alighting him. Let me give you the seven steps, I'm going to go to one slide, I'm coming back to the other one, seven steps, heaven's open, spirit descends, follow me team, the father spoke, Jesus heard, Jesus saw clarity on who he was and then he knew what he was supposed to do. When I tell you those who are getting baptized at the 1 p.m., this is what's going to happen in your life, you get the Holy Spirit as soon as you accept Jesus Christ but there is something that happens when the Holy Spirit does descend on you because the father, him, who all one but Jesus clearly shows it and in Acts it shows us that there is a significant moment where you get baptized in the spirit and he comes upon you and marks you in a way like you've never been marked and this is what I'm believing is going to happen here today. Baptism is sacred and here's what Jesus received, these three things, number one, he got affirmation because a lot of us are living as orphans when we're called to be sons, prodigal son and if you stay away too long, you don't just lose provision, you will lose perspective and you will forget who you are, Simba. Affirmation, this is my son, some of you about to hear, you are God's daughter, you're his
royalty, I am, here's what I want to say but I won't say it, here's what I want to say if I was just, if I wasn't a pastor, you've been saved how long and never got baptized? Seriously? That's what, I didn't say it but that's what I would say. This is my son, affection, can I tell you, there are a lot of ladies and men who are looking for affection and trying to get it in so many different places when God says, hey, look no further, look no further, find the father, follow the son, you'll never find affection in those places you're looking for, that's why we have to take off all our clothes and show ourselves on Instagram and OnlyFans because we're looking for something that can only be found by finding the father. Men, we're not excluded from this because we need that affirmation, oh yeah, Terence, I'll do anything for an atta boy, oh if only my mom was still alive to come and see this, if only she knew all her hard work paid off, all her prayers paid off, I need that affirmation and a lot of men will look for a lot of affirmation, that's why we work 10 jobs, that's why we'll go to this trip club, that's why we do a lot of stuff because we need, there's a little boy inside of each and every one of us, if you're honest with yourself, you're waiting for your father to say, well done. Every single man in this place and if you don't say it, you're a liar, we all need it, Jesus needed it and can I tell you as the keys come, Jesus is going to be here today to tell you, you are my child whom I love and with you I'm well pleased. Jesus lived 30 years, 30 years because if you don't discover the center of your strength, you're going to end up in the middle of your weakness, prodigal son, you got to understand that you'd be made in the image, you're number one, you got to find the father, number two is what? Follow the son, follow the son, follow the son of God and here's where it's going to lead you, the Bible says, you got to be filled with the spirit. Number three, the third key to discover your purpose, why on earth am I here? Well if I find a father, as a product I don't decide, I got to go back to the manufacturer, I got to follow the son because he's holy, he's the one who's going to speak to me and affirm who I am.
Acceptance, affirmation, that's where we get it. I'm so proud of you getting baptized last time with your son, Gerard. I am so, so proud, but as proud as I am, your Father in heaven smiles so brightly at you. And I hope you are hearing the voice of God like you've never heard before, because that is one of the benefits of being baptized, that your ears now start to get open to hear in a spiritual realm, because what you did was sacred. It is sacred. And that means you are now sacred and set apart for the Father's use. And so you might go back to the same job, doing medicine, but now you're showing them what the great physician looks like. Now you're showing them what the great physician, Jesus, looks like. And here's what I believe. You've been doing so great with business strategy. I know you do great. I see it popping up on my YouTube. But I believe that God's about to do a shift in you, and there's gonna be a supernatural shift. And it's not just gonna be natural ideas, they're gonna be supernatural ideas. And it's not just gonna be people's bodies that are gonna be saved, but their souls are gonna get saved through you.
And I'm talking about multitudes of souls, souls that I wish I could have done had I become a doctor, because that was my path, but I felt God called me, and maybe it was to equip the saints like you for the work of ministry. ♪ Holy are you Lord of all ♪ You gotta be filled with the Holy Spirit. And I'm telling you, you get it at baptism. Let me see these, Acts 1.8, Acts 1.8. But you, Jesus says to his disciples, you're gonna receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Some of you have been so powerless and been defeated, but God says, listen, if you get the Holy Spirit, all you were missing was the oil. And when you get that Holy Spirit upon you, you will be my witnesses. You will have the ability to go and do what you do in business. You will see there is a grace upon you. Now listen, when the Holy Spirit comes, he doesn't just give you gifts, he gives you the grace to fulfill the gifts. He doesn't just fill you, he fulfills you. In the Bible, it talks about 10 virgins. It says that they had their light. They had their light, and this light was supposed to be helping them see.
So when the groom was coming, it was nighttime. Can I tell you, our groom is coming in the morning. We don't know what time it is, but he's coming in the morning. He's coming, but if you don't have the light, you will burn out. The Bible says, watch this, there were five wise and five foolish. What qualified the wise ones as wise? What was it? The oil. You need sufficient oil for a sufficient purpose. Because the Bible says that when they went to trim the lamp, watch this carefully, you see how that wick is going up? When they tried to turn the brightness of the light so they could see, they were unable to see because they didn't have the oil, the oil, the oil. Sing, holy are you, Lord. Holy are you, Lord. I need you, Jesus. Holy. You sing it with me. Sing, holy, holy. Holy. Thank you, Jesus. Victory, authority. King of kings, will he fight for me? Victory, authority. All right, sound people, make sure you turn these microphones on.
They sing it a whole lot better than me. Sing, victory, yes, Lord. Victory. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Authority. The king of kings. The king of kings. Fights for me. He fights for me. Sing, victory. Victory, authority. If you're gonna play it, let's do it one more time. Sing, change. Change will fall. And fear my spell as the king of kings. He's gonna take the throne. And my heart will sing. Holy are you, Lord. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. Are you, Lord. Worthy, worthy, worthy, worthy. Worthy are you, Lord. Mighty, mighty, mighty. Mighty are you, Lord. Holy are you, Lord. Your victory and authority is truly said. It's found as you find the Father, follow the Son, but you need to be filled by the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit, the oil, the oil, the oil, the oil will help you see.
You will never see the Father without the oil because the Holy Spirit is known as the helper. If you don't have. helper you will never see. What's his strength? The Holy Spirit is our enabler. You will never fulfill your purpose until you're filled with the oil, the oil. It will sustain you, sustain you. The Holy Spirit is our helper. It doesn't just give the gifts, gives the grace to do it. Salvation, Jesus. See the lamp is red because it represents Jesus. But Jesus without the oil means you will burn out.
