What is Love?
The world keeps redefining love, but only God can define it — because God is love. Pastor Jordan Easley walks through the culture's counterfeits, the four Greek words for love, and God's standard (agape): a love that is unconditional, personal, eternal, and transformational — calling us to put on love and speak the truth in it.
This episode of All In with Pastor Jordan Easley has been made possible by the generous support of viewers like you. Welcome to All In with Pastor Jordan Easley. Today's message is about to begin, and we invite you to prepare your heart and mind to hear an inspiring message from God's Word. We hope and pray for God to speak to you today as you seek to live your life all in for Jesus Christ. And now from First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, here's Pastor Jordan Easley. It's gonna be a great day, glad you're here. If you're glad you're here, say amen. You fired up, you got the Word of God in your hand. You can also follow along on your Bible app and we have the notes there with you. And I wanna encourage you to take notes today as we continue this series called God Defined It. Hey, let me begin by asking you a simple question. When you hear the word love, what picture pops into your mind? You know, the interesting thing about that question is every single one of us have an idea. We have a concept when it comes to what love is. And not only have our brains been trained to personally define love, you and I have also been convinced that there's a certain path to finding it. Some of you are looking for love right now in all the wrong places.
Can I get an amen? You're looking for love on social media and you're looking for love in singles events and you're looking for love through self-improvement. You're working out and dropping all the pounds and you think, man, this is gonna be it. This is the path to finding love. Some of y'all are looking for love right now in church. Hello, look at the person left and right. They may be that person, all right? But the truth is the world is looking for love. And here's what we're gonna see today. Since the very beginning of time, the devil has been working hard to convince you and me that love is something other than what God determined it to be. You say, why would the devil do that? Why would he wanna cause confusion when it comes to defining love? And the answer to that is because the devil's job is to distort what God defines. Hey, you can look at anything in the Bible. If God defines it, the devil wants to distort it. And love is an example of just that. Hey, God is the designer and the definer of love. And in 1 John 4, 8, it says that the one who does not love does not know God because God is love. Lock in on what that just said today. God is love. And the Bible says, if we don't know God,
if we haven't been saved by God and changed by God, then you and I are incapable of demonstrating love or even experiencing love. That's not what the world will tell you. The world will say you are a candidate for love right now, exactly in the moment that you're in right now, no matter who you are. But the tricky thing is the world has its own definition for love. In fact, today, real quickly, I wanna show you eight different things that the culture of our day will tell you about love. The first one being this, that love is self-centered. Love is all about me and it's all about you and it's all about self-gratification. This is a love that says, if you love me, you will serve me. When I think about this perspective, I'm reminded of what Paul says in 2 Timothy 3, 2. He says, for people will be lovers of self, right? That's what the world will tell you about love. Love is all about you. But not only is it self-centered, it is also transactional according to culture. This is the idea that says, if I give to you and you truly love me, then you should automatically reciprocate and give back to me. Now that happens in most love relationships, but what the world will tell you is that giving is a way of receiving.
It's transactional. It's a way of receiving, not a way of serving. And the world is pretty consistent in that message. The third thing they'll tell you is that love is a feeling. Have you ever heard this before? The world portrays love as a powerful emotion. It will align love with this feeling that comes and goes, leading people to believe that when your feelings start to fade, then that love also fades. The fourth one is love is conditional. Culture will tell you that love is something that's earned. It's based on certain conditions in the relationship. For instance, sometimes love is based on physical appearance. I've actually heard people say that. They'll say, well, he used to love me when I looked like that or he used to love me when I was younger or more attractive. I've also seen love relationships where that love is based off of financial status or it's based off of some kind of success or social acceptance. Well, those are examples of what the world defines as love. It's not love, it's conditional relationships, which really isn't love at all. The fifth one is that love is effortless. Love is effortless. Believe it or not, there are a lot of people that love the Lord that still believe in number five. They believe if love is meant to be, it shouldn't require all this hard work,
which isn't true at all, by the way. Hey, let me tell you why this right here is so dangerous. It's because this belief creates unrealistic expectations, and that expectation leads people to abandon relationships as soon as they face difficult circumstances. But what we see happen far too often is that people buy into this idea that says, if the love is real and the love is authentic, then this relationship shouldn't require this much work. Let me give you the sixth one. The world will tell you that love is all about chemistry. There's a strong emphasis in the culture we live in that says that physical chemistry or physical attraction is the most important factor in a love relationship. And it puts such a high emphasis on that that sometimes we don't even consider things like a deep emotional connection or a spiritual connection. We don't think about what it is to be equally yoked because he's so hot or she's so fine, right? We get so locked in on that that we think if that's not there, then love isn't real. Number seven, love is about possession. I don't know if you've thought about this, but the world sometimes equates love with this idea of ownership or control. In other words, love means if we're in love, then I should be able to lord over you. I should operate in such a way where I'm the boss of you.
I get to determine what you do and how you live. This idea of lordship over someone else leads to all sorts of bad things. I'm talking about possessiveness and paranoia and jealousy, all of which are extremely unhealthy in a loving relationship. The eighth thing I wanna share with you is this, that the world says love makes you happy all the time. All the time. There's a feeling and there's a belief in our culture that says if your love is real, if you're in love, then your relationship should be one where you are happy and content all the time. And if you believe that today, I'm just here to tell you if that's true, ain't nobody in this place ever been in love, all right? It hasn't been real because no person in this world can say in this relationship, we've been happy all the time. But this idea says that you should be happy and if you're not happy, then it's not love. You know what that is? It's a fantasy. That's a fantasy. And let me just tell you why each of these thoughts are so destructive. Are you ready? It's because when reality doesn't match your fantasy, that's when people tend to doubt the validity of love. When reality doesn't match fantasy, that fantasy says, you know what?
Maybe love's not possible for me or maybe love's not even real. Hey, since the day that you were born, our world has been feeding you a fantasy regarding this idea of love. From the books that you read when you were a little kid to the songs that you've sung to the movies that you've watched, all of those things have been built to teach you this is what love is. And this is how you experience love. And this is the path in which you should take to pursue it. I wanna remind you of something today. The world doesn't have the right to redefine love. And the reason I use that word redefine is because the world did not define love in the first place. You see, the devil himself is the ruler of the world today. And since the beginning of time, he's been trying to redefine that which God has clearly defined. And you know what? The devil doesn't have the right to tell you what love is today. Why? Because God is the definer of love. If you believe that, say amen. God defined it. God is the author of love. He is the creator of love. And you know what?
He's also our model for love. What does it say in 1 John 4, 16? And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love. And the one who remains in love remains in God and God remains in him. You know what that verse tells us? It tells us that love isn't just an attribute of God, but that love is central to who God is. It's who he is. It's what he does. God is love. He defines love, but he also loves us. You know, Romans 5, eight says that, but God proves his own love for us. And that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. So if you're a person here today and you're asking, how has God really loved me? How has he demonstrated his love for me? You know what I'd say? He demonstrated his love for you when he sent Jesus to the earth to save you. Hey, I hope you understand that without Jesus doing what Jesus did, none of us would even be able to comprehend or understand what true love looks like. When Jesus came to this earth, this God who is love put his love on display. That verse just said, while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us. It doesn't say while we were still, or while we were perfect, or after we had cleaned up our act, or after we had started behaving ourselves. No, the Bible says, while we were still jacked up, while we were undeserving and unworthy, the God of the universe put his love on display by sending his one and only son to the earth to save us and to forgive us and to give us hope. Without that act of God demonstrating his love for us, you and I wouldn't have hope today. But because of Jesus, you and I can have hope. See, God proved his love by sending his son. John chapter 15, verse 13 says, no one has greater love than this, to lay down his life for his friends. Hey, that's what Jesus did for you. He laid down his life for you. And in doing so, he not only showed us what love was, but he showed us how God defines love. You know, as we read the Bible, we see that word love many times. In fact, this week, I read my whole Bible. It's in there 549 times. I didn't, I Googled it. All right, but it's in there 549 times. It's in the English, it's very clear, L-O-V-E. But you know, we see that word over and over again, but oftentimes we don't realize
in the original manuscripts of the Bible, there are actually several words for this one word love. In fact, today I wanna share with you four different words with four different meanings, all translated love in the Bible. They're all different. The first one's phileo. This word phileo in the Bible is a unique word that talks about brotherly love. Like a friend loves another friend. We get our English word Philadelphia from that word phileo, which as you know, is the city of, say it with me, brotherly love. But when I think about this kind of love, I think about the relationship we see in 1 Samuel chapter 18 through 20. It's a relationship between two guys named David and Jonathan, and they loved each other. Like friends love one another. I have friends like that. Friends that I love being around. Friends I take a bullet for. Friends that we hang out and they sharpen me and they make me better and they point me to the Lord. If you don't have friends like that, you need to. Because the Bible shows how this phileo love, this brotherly love, it makes us better. There's another word I want you to see, and it's the word storge. This is a familial love.
Like we love people in our family. Once again, I go back to scripture and I think about different relationships. And I'm reminded of the relationship we see between Ruth and Naomi. In Ruth chapter one, this is what Ruth said about her mother-in-law. Are you ready? It says, for wherever you go, I will go. And wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me and do so severely if anything but death separates you and me. If you read that like me, I'm like, what in the world is this? No one ever speaks of their mother-in-law like that, right? What kind of relationship is this? It's a loving relationship. That right there is a demonstration of this storge love, this familial love. Let me give you another one. You ready? It's the word eros, eros. It's a romantic love. For many people, this is our favorite kind of love. This is our I'm in love with you kind of love. It's romantic, it's passionate, it's dedicated. Going back to scripture,
it's the same kind of love we see demonstrated between like a Jacob and a Rachel. You know, in that scripture in Genesis 29, it says this. Jacob worked seven years for Rachel and they seem like only a few days to him because of his love for her. What is that? That's like, eh, kind of love, right? It's like, you know what I'm talking about? It's like, come on, bro. Seven years, only a few days. Like it's a romantic love. That's an eros, romantic, passionate, whatever kind of gross love or whatever. But the fourth word is agape. You gotta get agape because this right here is the word we have for unconditional love. Unconditional love. This is God's standard for love. It's the way that God loves us. And I wanna give you four different things that really talk about God's standard for love. What does it mean to have this agape love? Number one, it's unconditional. We've seen that already. In John 3, 16, when the Bible says, "'God loved the world in this way, "'He gave His one and only Son.'" It's talking about this kind of love, like an unconditional love.
God loves us so much that He's willing to do whatever it takes to save us. It's God's standard for love. It's hard for us to wrap our mind around unconditional love. And I think the reason is because you and I have been conditioned to believe that love is always conditional. We've grown up hearing things like, hey, I love you and I will love you as long as blank, right? Or I love you and I will love you as long as you don't do this or you don't do that. That's what love looks like for many of us today. We've been programmed to believe that all love is conditional. But when you look at the Word of God, it talks about a love that makes no sense to most people. It's a love where God says, I love you, period. I love you. And there's nothing that can separate you from that love. Romans 8 talks about that love that's inseparable. When you look at Romans 8, chapter 8, verse 36, go ahead and go to that verse. There you go. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. That's God saying, hey, nothing can separate you
from the love that I have. It's an unconditional love. But you know what else? It's a personal love. It's a personal love. Augustine once said it this way. He said, God loves each of us as if there were only one of us. Think about that. God has known you longer than anyone else ever has. And He still loves you more than anyone else ever will. In John chapter 15, verse nine, Jesus said, as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Hey, let that sink in today. In the same way that God the Father loves God the Son, Jesus said, that's how I love you. It is a personal love. God's love is not only unconditional and personal. Third thing I want you to see, it's eternal. It's eternal. We read that in Romans 8 just a second ago, didn't we? It said that nothing can separate us from the love of God. You know what I include in that word nothing? Time, time. Not even time can separate you from the love of God. In Psalm 136, it gives testimony to that. It says, give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His faithful love endures, say this word with me, forever. God's love for you endures forever.
It's an unconditional love. It's a personal love. It's an eternal love. Last but not least, it is a transformational love. It is a transformational love. 2 Corinthians 5, 17 says, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away and see the new has come. That verse talks about the transformative power of the love of God. It says, when you experience the love of God through the son of God, your life will never be the same again. Hey, love changes everything, doesn't it? Have you ever been around a person who just fell in love for the first time? It's pretty obvious if you ask me, because when you see a person who just fell in love, you know what they do? They giggle a whole lot more than a person should giggle. When you first fall in love, man, you got goo-goo eyes and you spend way too much money on things like chocolates and things like flowers. When you first fall in love, you know what happens? Your cheeks begin to blush and your mannerisms begin to change and you start paying close attention to the way you look and the temperature of your breath, if you know what I'm saying. I mean, you're paying attention to everything.
And when you're in love, you spend all your time, all your waking moments talking to your person. And when you're not talking to your person, you're telling everybody else about your person. And you know what? That's not only true for individuals who fall in love with another person. That's also true for an individual who falls in love with Jesus. It's pretty easy to tell when someone falls head over heels in love with Jesus. Why is that? Because they got goo-goo eyes when they show up for worship. Because you can tell they want to talk to the Lord. They want to read His word. They want to spend their days talking to Him. He's their person. And when they're not talking to Him, they're telling everybody else about Him. It's impossible to experience the love of God and remain unchanged. His love will change you. The Bible says when you experience the love of God through the Son of God in a real way, that love will naturally compel your life to change. In fact, I'll say it this way. The love of God transforms us into becoming more like God. Nothing else will, by the way. Nothing else will transform you. Going to church as an event on Sunday
will not transform you. Praying for the sake of praying before you eat your food or go to sleep, it will not transform you. Reading your Bible academically or memorizing verses apart from a real relationship with Jesus will not transform you. But you know what will? The love of God. The love of God will transform you. Listen, the love you're looking for, it's not found in this world. It's found through the person of Jesus Christ. And through Him, you are able to experience a love unlike any other love experienced in this world. The Bible says it's a love that is unconditional. It's a love that's personal. It's a love that's eternal and it's a love that's transformational. That's the kind of love the Bible says Jesus makes available for each of us today. It's an available love, it's an accessible love, but get this, you ready? It's a love that requires action. It's available, it's accessible, but He requires action. Let me show you what I mean in Colossians chapter three. In verse 12, it says, therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion. It's an action word.
Put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive. Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Hey, read that last part with me. Above all, what does it say? Put on love. Here's what the verse is saying. Because of Jesus, I've been saved by God. And through His salvation, God has given me access to many things I didn't have access to prior to having a relationship with Him. For instance, He tells me that I can now put on compassion. Do you see that in the scripture? He tells me I can put on compassion, which means God has given me a brand new garment called compassion that I at one point in my life didn't have access to. He said the same thing about this garment called kindness and humility and gentleness and patience. He tells me I now have the capacity and the ability to demonstrate these characteristics. Why? Well, because of what Christ has done in my life and the relationship I have with Him.
This says when we personally experience the Son of God and the love of God, that love changes us. And as a result of that change, we can now bear with one another in new ways. He says you can now forgive one another in ways where you couldn't forgive prior. Why? Because the love of God compels us. The love of God transforms us. It makes us more like Jesus. See, Jesus gives us access to new garments and those garments take part in transforming us into His image. But read the last part of that verse. What does it say? It says that the love of God is the central garment. The love of God is the central garment. And without taking that action step of putting on love, we will never be who God created us to be. Hey, get this in your notes today. The goodness of God gives us access to the garment of love. The goodness of God gives us access to the garment of love, which tells me if I don't have God, I don't have access to love. I don't have access to this garment called love. But on the flip side of that, when I do know God, He gives us access, not only to these things like compassion and kindness and love, He gives us access to His entire wardrobe.
I've got an 18-year-old son named Asher. He's a senior in high school. And today, he is pretty much the same size that I am, which is a good thing and a bad thing. He wears the same shirt size that I wear. He wears the same shoe size that I wear. We wear the same. size pants. I mean, he is my kid, but right now he's my size. And I say it's a good thing and a bad thing because the good thing is I don't have to buy him as many clothes as I once did. Praise the Lord. But the bad thing is my son now believes he has access to everything in my closet. And so every single day without asking me, by the way, he will make his way into my room and go to my closet and he will be wearing my shoes and he will be wearing my clothes and he wears them without talking to me and he doesn't return them, by the way. Has nothing to do with the sermon, I'm just venting at this point, all right? It's a good thing and it's a bad thing. But you know, I was thinking about that this week and there's only one reason that Asher has access to my closet. May I tell you the reason? It's because he's my son. If some random teenager showed up in my closet and started relacing my shoes and putting on my shirts, I would call the cops, right? But because he's my son, he's been given access to my wardrobe. Do you get it? Let me tell you this way. When you're a son or a daughter of the king, he gives you access to his wardrobe. He gives you access to brand new garments. And guess what? Those garments are so much better than yours. They're so much nicer. They're so much cleaner. They're so much more valuable. And now because of your relationship, guess what? You can go into his closet and you can put on his kindness. You can go into his closet, you can put on his gentleness. Before you knew him, you didn't have access to those garments. Before your relationship with him, you were on your own. God's word says now because of a relationship with Jesus, you have access to those things. Today you can put on his humility and in areas where you couldn't be humble before, now you're representing his humility, right? You can put on his patience and in ways where you couldn't be patient before, now you are exuding the patience of God. You can forgive in ways that you once couldn't without the garment of forgiveness out of the closet of God. But
do you notice what God says about all of these garments in relation to this one thing called love? He said, this garment called love is the staple of the entire wardrobe. If you don't put on love, you missed it. Listen, it's not only the garment that defines who God is. It's also the garment that's intended to be the foundation of who you are and what you do and how you live. In fact, the Bible says without love, it doesn't matter what you put on. You're nothing. You're nothing. First Corinthians 13 one. If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I'm a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. What does that say to me today? It says, man, I can, I can stand up here Sunday after Sunday and I can preach and I can teach and I can say a lot of good things. But if I do all of that and do not love the people in which I speak, then all I'm doing up here is making noise Sunday after Sunday. Verse two goes on to say, if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. He's saying you could be the most gifted and the most talented and the most religious person in the room. You can follow the Lord by faith and you can trust him for things that are great. But if you forget to put on the garment of God's love, guess what? You're nothing. Keep reading verse three. He says, and if I give away all my possessions and if I give over my body in order to boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. What does that say? Saying you can be generous, you can give generously, you can live sacrificially, but if you don't do those things with love, your generosity and your sacrifice won't amount to anything. Hey, in order to demonstrate love, you must first put on love. There's an action step here. It's available, it's accessible, but Jesus tells us there's an action step. We got to put it on. And you know what? When you experience God's love personally, and then you choose to clothe yourself in that love spiritually, it will change the way you demonstrate that love collectively. Love changes everything. Let me give you an example of what I'm saying today. When you think about the most fundamental assignments that Jesus has given us as believers on the earth, how would you narrow, narrow that down to say three? I thought about that this week. I'm like, what did Jesus tell us to do as believers? And these are the three that popped into my head. The first one, we're to evangelize. sinners. We're to tell people about Jesus. The second one is we're to make disciples,
which means we're to teach people how to walk with God. And the third thing, we're called to be truth tellers. So we've got to make sure the world hears the truth about God's word. I think we can all agree there's confusion when it comes to truth. And so God's got us here to tell the truth. So those are my three. I'm like, evangelize sinners, make disciples, be truth tellers. Those are like the basic assignments that God's given us as believers. But you know what I've noticed? How we do these things looks completely different when we love people than when we don't. Even the most basic things, it looks completely different. You know, every year growing up, my parents would bring me to something called the Southern Baptist Convention. And if you've never been, it's basically 10,000 church people that get together in a conference center and they talk about church stuff and they argue about everything for three days. All right. That's just a peek into my childhood. All right. It sounds fun. I know. Other kids are at Disney world. I'm in Idaho, uh, watching preachers in three piece suits talking about who does it right and who does it wrong. Okay. That's just, it's a peek into my childhood. But I grew up attending this convention every single year. And the majority of things I saw and experienced at those events truly were great. They were positive things that I'm grateful for today. But I also grew up seeing things at these events that honestly still make my skin crawl just thinking about them. For instance, this convention, it's always taken place in June, the month of June, which as you know, since the year 1970 has been, has been called a pride month in America. And so every single year we'd been a major city somewhere and you'd have this family called Southern Baptist on one side and they'd be sharing downtown with protesters and gay activists and rainbow parades. And every year there are people on both sides of the street and they'll have picket signs and they'll have bullhorns and they'll be pleading their case as to why they believe the way they believe. You can probably imagine this scene if you close your eyes for just a moment. But I've seen it play out time and time again. I've seen this year after year on street corners outside of convention halls. And I'll say it this way, we have a lot of awesome people in this family called Southern Baptist, people that love the Lord, people who carry out the mission of God in a way that makes us proud. But we also have some crazy uncles in this family. I'm talking about crazy. And I grew up watching those crazy uncles stand on street corners and they would say and do some of the most ungodly
things a person could say or do all in the name of evangelizing sinners, making disciples and being truth tellers. Bullhorns, picket signs, and all of it. Let me say this, love without truth is meaningless. And truth without love is just mean. I want you to get this one today. Love without truth is meaningless. And truth without love is mean. Let me ask you a personal question today. If you say you love someone, but you refuse to tell them the truth, can you really call that love? You love them, but you avoid them. You love them, but you're going to avoid that conversation. You will not tell them the truth. Can you really call that love? But on the flip side of that, if all you do is bark truth at somebody and you do so without first wearing the garment of God's love, can you really expect that truth to change their heart? Hey, Ephesians 4 verse 15 says it this way, but speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way to him who is the head Christ. Did you hear that? He doesn't say, Hey, your job is to bomb the rubble. Your job is to speak the truth as loud as you can and take no prisoners. No, he doesn't say that. He tells us above everything, man, put on love, put on love first, right? And then speak the truth, but do so wearing that wardrobe, that garment of God's love. The Bible says, when we speak the truth in love, we will grow in every way and we will become more like Christ. Hey, maybe you're asking today, how do I do that? I think many of us are asking that. How do I do that? How can I live out the love of God? Let me give you another little outline. First thing you've got to do is you've got to personally experience the Son of God. You have to personally experience Jesus. If you've not been saved, guess what? You don't have access to his wardrobe. If you haven't personally experienced Christ, and if he hasn't done a transformative work in your life, if the old isn't gone and the new hasn't come, if you don't have the power of the Holy Spirit living in you, then guess what? You can't live out the rest of this. The first thing we've got to do is personally experience the Son of God. Secondly, we've got to choose to put on the love of God. Hey, just because Jesus has saved you and given you access to his wardrobe doesn't mean that you've already put on the love of God. There's an action there. And so you must choose to put on the love of God before you interact with anyone. But not only are we to choose to put on the love of God, last but not least, we are to align our life to the Word of God. Everything in our life ought to be dictated
and determined by the truth of who God is and what God says. So the question is, what does God say about love? Let's keep reading in verse four. It says, love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. We've got to align our life to the Word of God when it comes to what love truly is. And don't run past that last point today. The love of God will never end. Do you get that? The love of God, it will never end. If you know Him, if you love Him, if you live for Him, if you serve Him, the Bible says, the love you experience, the love you need, God's love will never end. The love you experience today will be the love you experience for all of eternity. Verse 12 says, for now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully as I am fully known. Verse 13, now these three remain, faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these, say it with me, is love. Hey, can you say that you've personally experienced the Son of God? Have you chosen to put on the love of God? Have you aligned your life to the Word of God? My prayer is that if you haven't made those decisions, that today would be the day that you take that step of faith and step into what God defines as love. Would you bow your heads and close your eyes? Hey, I want to stop at that first question and ask, have you personally experienced the love of God? Has He saved you? Has He changed you? Has Jesus made you a new person and transformed your life from the inside out? If not, today, I believe that Jesus can save your soul. He can forgive you of your sin. He can change everything and give you a new start as a child of the King. Listen, when you have access to Jesus, you have access to His wardrobe, and when you know Christ, you can begin to put on His garments. That's a game changer. So today, if you've never accepted Christ, would you just, would you just pray right now and say, Lord, I know that in order for me to know God, that I need to have this moment where I surrender my life to You. So Jesus, in this moment, in the best way I know how, I give You my life. I turn away from my sin, and I choose today to turn to You as my Lord and my Savior. God, I want to know You, I want to live for You, and I want to make a difference for You in Your kingdom. I never want to be ashamed of this decision, but I want to be light in the darkness, and I want my life to point other people to Jesus. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for loving me, and it's in Jesus' name I pray.
Amen. One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the promise that we never have to carry the weight of life on our own. In Philippians 4-6, the Apostle Paul writes these words, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Hey, what an incredible invitation. God doesn't tell us to ignore our worries. He tells us to bring our worries to Him. That's why the All In Prayer Ministry exists. Our team prays faithfully and intentionally over the needs of people just like you. Needs for healing, direction, restoration, salvation, and peace, and so on. Listen, no matter what you're facing right now, you're not alone. We would be honored to stand with you and to lift your needs before the Lord. If you have a prayer request big or small I want to encourage you to take just a moment right now and follow the Instructions on the screen and share with us your prayer need and I promise you this our team will pray for you by name Believing that God hears you God loves you and God is already at work in your situation So don't carry that burden by yourself. Let us pray with you and let us pray for you We're all in and we're here for you Hey We never want to end our broadcast without giving you the opportunity to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior If you'd like to make the decision to trust Jesus and want to know more about what it looks like to follow Jesus Get in touch with me right now Follow the instructions at the bottom of the screen so that we can pray for you and also put information in your hands right away Today we celebrate your decision and look forward to being a part of your personal journey of going all-in with Jesus Christ This episode of all-in with pastor Jordan Easley has been made possible by the generous support of viewers like you We hope today's message encourages you as you strive to live your life fully committed to Jesus Christ
