We hope and pray for God to speak to you today as you seek to live your life all in for Jesus Christ. And now from First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, here's Pastor Jordan Easley. Hey, let me begin by asking a simple question. How many of you currently have a bumper sticker on your car? It's like seven people that have a sticker on their car. See, that's what I thought. When I think of bumper stickers, I usually think of them as being something in the past, probably because when I was a kid, bumper stickers were really popular. A lot of people had them. I read an article this week, though, that said right now in America, the sticker industry is exploding. It said that the sticker industry is currently $150 million industry in our country. And that same article said that it projected it being a $200 million industry by the year 2028. Kind of blew my mind, but I started thinking about bumper stickers. And I thought, you know,

all of us have a favorite bumper sticker. There've been a lot of popular ones throughout the years. I did a little search and come to find out one of the most popular is the one that said baby on board. Had anybody ever have that bumper sticker on your car? Yeah, some of you moms. One of my favorite ones on the list was one that said student driver, hashtag Jesus take the wheel, all right? Now, I was like, if you have a teenage driver, you get that. How about the stick figure family? Anybody wanna just admit that in church that you have that on your car? Yep, okay. Do you have the dogs and the cats, stick figure? Yep, okay, you got the whole thing. I'm not gonna tell the joke then. I'm not gonna talk about you right now. How about the one that says honk if you love Jesus? Have you ever seen that one before? I like this one. If you can read this, get off my tail. Tailgaters. Many years ago, someone created a bumper sticker that really took off in America, especially with the Christian community. This was a bumper sticker that a lot of people had in the church. A lot of people, they claimed this phrase. It was a powerhouse phrase.

And I wanna share this sticker with you today. It says this, God said it, I believe it, that settles it. Have you ever seen this statement before? I'm talking about a lot of people in my church growing up who had this stuck on their bumper. They wanted everybody to know this statement is true and I want you to hear it. God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. I grew up thinking that was awesome. And I'm sure that people putting that on their car had great intentions. But when you really wanna break it down, here's something we need to understand. If God said it, that settles it, whether you believe it or not. Whether you believe it or not. Hey, don't buy into the lies about truth. If you're alive today, you're gonna hear people say there's no such thing as absolute truth. You're gonna hear people in our culture say things like truth is relative. But the truth is you and I don't have the right to choose what we say is true and what's not true. There's no such thing as my truth and your truth. We can't just pick and choose what we believe in the moment. The truth is God is truth. He's the one who defines it and He alone is the source of truth. And you know what, throughout this series, you're gonna hear this statement.

And that is we don't have the right to redefine that which God has clearly defined. Get this, if God said it, that settles it, whether you believe it or not. So the question today is what does God's word have to tell us about truth? If you have your Bible, we're gonna be in John chapter eight today. And in John chapter eight, we're gonna dive into a conversation that Jesus is having with some people who needed to hear the truth about truth. And this is what he says in verse 31. It says, then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, if you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. I want you to notice right off the bat that in this verse, Jesus draws a very clear line between a truth and the truth. Listen carefully to what he just said. He said, you will know the truth. Now notice he doesn't say, if you continue in my word and you really are my disciples, you will know a truth. No, he said, you will know the truth. So right here, he's talking about a truth that is absolute and unchanging. He's talking about a truth that is real and consistent, a truth that you and I can know personally. And I'm not talking about some kind of social construct. It's not something that changes with the wind at different times and in different ages and stages.

Think about this. If ultimate truth comes from God, it can never change. Why? Because God never changes. In Hebrews chapter 13, verse eight, it says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. You know what that tells us? The truth of God and the truth that God defines has always been true since the very beginning. And the truth that God defines will always be true. I believe Jesus wants you to hear something today. You ready? You personally can know the truth and that truth can set you free. You see, Jesus is truth. According to the word of God, the word of God, by the way, is truth. And Jesus has given us access to himself. He's given us access to his word. Why? Because in doing so, he gives us access to freedom. You may be wondering today, how can the word of God set me free? Well, think about what you brought in here today. Maybe you walked in and you said, man, right now I'm worried about my circumstances. I have worry in my heart. Well, you know what? The word of God, the truth of God's word addresses that.

The truth says, you don't have to worry about tomorrow. The word of God says, don't be anxious about anything, but pursue the Lord and pray and be thankful. Know that God is with you and he's for you and he's listening to you. You see, God's truth promises to give you peace when you respond to the Lord like that. That's good to know, right? It's good to have the truth of God's word to lean on. Maybe you say, man, I'm right now feeling the weight and bondage from my sin. Well, God's truth says, your sin doesn't have to crush you any longer. You don't have to live your life as a prisoner to that sin anymore. The Bible says, Jesus can save you. He can forgive you. He can redeem you. And he can do that once and for all. So the truth of God's word, it gives you hope when you feel burdened. Maybe you're walking in here saying, man, I live in fear. I live in fear knowing that there's gonna be a day where I die and I step into eternity. You know what God's truth says? You don't have to fear death if you believe in Jesus. In 1 John 5, verse 12, it says, the one who has the son has life. And it's talking about life forever. So because you have the truth,

you can cling onto that truth and you can believe in that truth. And that truth is what will ultimately give you hope and set you free. If you're taking notes, get this today. The foundation of our freedom is truth. The foundation under our feet, the foundation of our freedom is truth. Have you ever wondered why there are so many people that are walking through this life like prisoners in captivity? I'm talking about the people that you encounter on a day-to-day basis, people that you work with, people you go to school with. And when you look at them, they're not living the abundant life that Jesus promised you or promised them. They're not living with joy and satisfaction and freedom. Have you ever wondered why they're missing out on all of that? I think this is it right here in Galatians 5. In verse one, it says, for freedom, Christ set us free. For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm then and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery. In this verse, it gives us two different pictures of two different kinds of people. It gives you a picture of a person that's free. And it also gives you a person that's a slave. And you know what I've noticed? Sometimes the slave doesn't even recognize

his lack of freedom. Hey, remember what we just read in John 8. This is Jesus talking. He said, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free, right? That word free, it gives us a picture of a yoke being opened up so that the person that was held in captivity is no longer held in captivity, but now they're free to run. Have you ever continued reading that passage to see how the people responded to Jesus in that day? Keep reading in that chapter. Verse 33, they said, we are descendants of Abraham and we have never been enslaved to anyone. How could you say, Jesus, you will become free? And Jesus responded, truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever. So if the son sets you free, you really will be free. Maybe you're here today and you're hearing about these two different kinds of people and you'd say, Jordan, listen, I'm not a slave. What are you talking about? I'm not in bondage. I don't feel like I've got a chain around my ankle. Let me ask you a question today. Can you point to a time in your life where the son of God set you free?

That's a question every single one of us has to address personally. No one can answer that for you. Has there been a time in your life when you went from slavery to freedom because Jesus gave you the freedom that you now live in? Because that's how Jesus describes freedom. What does he say? Truth will set you free. And the Bible says the Son will set you free, which means the Son is truth. Actually, Jesus said that of himself in John 14, verse six. What did he say? I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. So what does that say to me as a believer today? What does it say to me as just a seeker today? Here's what it says. Jesus is the truth that sets us free. There's nothing else that can give you freedom. In Galatians 5, one, we just read for freedom, Christ set us free, stand firm then and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery. So Jesus tells us personally, you have two options today. You can live your life as a slave or you can live your life in freedom. Let me ask you, which one would you choose? If you had to choose, which one are you going with today? Say it out loud. Freedom, duh, right?

No one is raising their hand today saying, man, I just, I really wanna be a slave. And yet 100% of people would say, I don't wanna be a slave. And yet so many people are currently experiencing the bondage that this verse is talking about. In Galatians 5, one, it refers to a yoke. Do you see that in the scripture? It talks about a yoke. Many people don't know what a yoke is. And so I had a guy build us one so we could get a visual of what it looks like. A yoke in biblical days was used for farming. You would put an oxen over here, oxen over there, you would yoke them up together and together as they're plowing fields, they would be stronger together. The stronger of the two ox, he would be the one in charge. Wherever he goes, the other one goes. And right here, Jesus uses the imagery of this yoke. You put your head in there, you put your head in there and you are locked in, you can't go anywhere else. And Jesus says, when we yoke ourselves up to Christ, we yoke ourselves up with truth. And truth is what sets us free. Christ sets us free. But on the flip side of that, he tells us when you yoke yourself up with sin, you are yoking yourself up to slavery. And because you're yoking yourself up to slavery,

you are choosing to forego freedom and be bound in bondage. Do you get it? You see, when you put your head in there and you put your sin right there, that sin is bigger than you. It's stronger than you. It can dominate you. And that sin will take you to places you don't wanna go. It'll point the trajectory of your life in a way that is away from Christ. But he says, Jesus has the ability to free you from that sin, free you from that bondage. And when you connect yourself to the truth of God's word, he could free you forever. Get this, the foundation of our freedom is truth. It's truth. You know, as we've been building these buildings over the past couple of years, I've learned a lot about foundations. A lot of stuff I didn't really care about. But I've been in a lot of meetings where they're talking about this stuff. And in fact, I can remember in the building process getting frustrated with our contractor because so much time is being spent underground. Nobody cares about stuff underground. It's not exciting to see things going underground. At that point, I wanted to see steel beams going up. I wanted to see walls being erected. I wanted to see glass being installed.

But for months, these guys just kept digging holes and pouring concrete in holes. And I didn't understand why. So I decided to ask our contractor one day. I was like, man, why? I look out my window and this is all I see. And the contractor told me, he said the most important part of the building is its foundation. And I knew that. Everybody knows that. If you don't have a strong foundation, you don't have a great building. But then he went on to tell me something else. He said the most important part of the foundation are the footers. And when he said that, I nodded my head like I knew what he was talking about. I was like, yeah, I'm glad we had this meeting. It's all about the footers. And I walked around, went straight to my office and I Googled what's a footer, all right? I had no idea. I Googled it. But here's what I found out. Footers are like these massive pillars that are poured under the ground with reinforced concrete and they are placed underneath the foundation. Footers are designed to redistribute the weight of the structure

and make it more stable over the long haul. So if you just pour a foundation on dirt, which we could all do that, right? You just pour concrete on the dirt, you'll have a foundation and it will probably be a strong foundation. But if you have nothing to support it. That foundation's gonna crack and crumble over time. But on the other hand, if you build your foundation on top of these massive footers, that building is going to last forever and that structure is going to be secured. You get it? You tracking with my construction illustration right now? All right, here's the thing, I believe all of us as Christians have a foundation. In fact, I believe many of us would say, I have a strong foundation, and that foundation is built on the truth. And that's awesome. But let me ask you this, what are the footers supporting your foundation? What are the things underneath what you believe that are gonna support you until the day you go to be with the Lord? You see, I believe that God defined truth, and He tells us in His Word certain things we need to know about truth that are gonna support our belief while we're here on planet Earth. Today, I'm gonna give you six things I want you to jot down. Things that you're not gonna hear in a lot of different places, but today, I'm not gonna hold back. I just wanna tell you what the Word of God has to say, okay? The first one is this, truth is objective. Truth is objective. In John chapter 14, when Jesus says, I am the truth, He was speaking about an absolute truth.

When He says in John chapter eight, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. I want you to see, that's not for just some people. It wasn't just for those people. When He said that, it's for all people. These are examples of what I would like to call big T truths, right? Objective truths defined by God. Now, there is such thing as subjective truth, and we need to know that as well. Not everything is objective. There are subjective truths in this world. For instance, I believe, I believe every single snake is evil and from the devil and should be killed on the spot, right? That's what I believe. I shouldn't say that out loud, because in my mind, that's true. But in your mind, that might be untrue. And so that's an example of subjective truth. It's personal truth in which I determine. If you're a snake, you're done, all right? Every single one of them need to die. That might not be true for you. It is for me. Let me tell you how you can quickly get out of bounds with God. Are you ready for this? You can get quickly out of bounds with God when you start replacing God's objective truth with your subjective thoughts. I'm going to say it again. When you start replacing God's objective truth with your subjective thoughts, when you're like, yeah, that's what God says, but here's what I think. Listen, God wrote one book, and in this book, He says everything He wanted to say. And by the way, He said it without any errors, without any flaws, without anything being

omitted, without the use of chat GBT. This book is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. And God wrote this book through men who were inspired and led by the Spirit of God to record every single word that God wanted them to write. And you know what? This book doesn't have an expiration date. This book is as relevant today as it was on the day it was originally recorded. And we read that in 1 Peter. In 1 Peter 1, it says the word of the Lord endures how long? Forever. Let me interpret what that means. It means if God said something 2,000 years ago, then God means that that's the truth today. The world gets mixed up on this. Listen, if God said 2,000 years ago that homosexuality is an abomination, it doesn't matter what our culture says. It doesn't matter what your TikTokers say. That's truth according to the word of God. If God said 2,000 years ago that drunkenness is a lifestyle sin that'll prevent people from inheriting the kingdom of God, then we need to understand that's what God meant to say. He didn't stutter. He was very clear. And that truth applies today. You see, we can't justify our beliefs by saying, yeah, but that was true back then. Or yeah, but that's true in another culture or in another day. Today things are different. Things are acceptable in the world we live in. It's not that big of a deal. Let me remind you, it is a big deal to God.

And it's a big deal because according to Him, truth is truth and we don't have the right to redefine that which God clearly defines. Truth is objective. But let me give you number two. Truth is also universal. Once again, if God says something, that truth is not limited to a certain segment of society. For example, in 1 Timothy 2, verse four says, Jesus wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. That's what the Lord says. There are other verses that say the same thing. In 1 Timothy chapter one, it says, Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. May I ask you, who are sinners in this room? Raise your hand. That's about 70%. If you're sitting next to someone that didn't raise their hand, they might be. be Jesus, all right? We're all sinners, every one of us. And so Jesus came into the world to save whom? All of us, right? Because we're all sinners. But believe it or not, there are some people who think that Jesus only came into the world to save some sinners. They believe that Jesus only came to save a handful of people. Let me tell you something, God's love isn't available to some of us, it's available to all of us. Praise God for that, right? Hey, there's somebody that needs to hear that today.

There's somebody in this room who thinks, God can't love me because I'm jacked up. Let me tell you something, we're all jacked up. And Jesus gave his life for you. God sent his son for you. And he didn't send his son for some of us, he sent his son for all of us, to every single person on the face of the earth. In fact, Romans says that, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Do you believe that today? Listen, John 3 16 applies to every single person in every single nation, from every single tribe, speaking every single language. And he made himself abundantly clear in that chapter. What does he say in John 3 16? For God loved who? The world in this way. He gave his one and only son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned because he has not believed in the name of the one and only son of God. That is truth according to the word of God. And that truth is objective and that truth is universal. Let me give you the third one. You ready?

That truth is absolute. It's absolute truth. In John 17 17, Jesus is praying for his disciples. And this is what he prayed to the father that day. He said, sanctify them by the truth. Your word is truth. I know we've already covered this to some degree, but when the word of God says something, that should end all discussions. I'm gonna say that again. In your day-to-day life, you're debating whatever with whomever, if the word of God says something, there's nothing to talk about. I've been in ministry for more than 20 years and I have had some wild conversations with people. I've had so many conversations where someone will approach me or someone will have a meeting with me and they will declare that God told me to blank, fill in the blank. I've heard it all. God told me to beat my kids. I heard that one one time. I was like, wow, God told you that. God told you to beat your kids. I had another person say, God told me to cheat on my wife and leave her for another woman. God told me I don't have to tithe or give generously to his church. In fact, same person.

God told me I'm exempt from giving anything to the Lord. God told me that I can have sex before marriage. God told me it's okay to get drunk with my friends. I've heard it all, man. God told me to blank. Hey, if you're listening today, I want you to get this. God's voice will never contradict God's word, ever. God's voice will never contradict God's word. You say, Jordan, why is that? Let me tell you. What did we just read? Your word is truth. And that's not a bad thing, by the way. That's a really good thing. Because of that, next time you hear a whisper in your ear and that whisper is telling you to do something that God clearly condemns, that should be an opportunity to throw a red flag, right? Listen, when the voice in your head clashes with the truth of God's word, you can have clarity and you can know that's not the Holy Spirit that's telling me that. That is the voice of the devil leading me astray, right? See, the voice of God will always harmonize with the word of God. It will always harmonize with the word of God. There's no contradiction between the Holy Spirit and God's word. This truth is absolute. Can I give you a fourth one?

This truth is also eternal. It's not temporary, it's forever. When I was a kid, I would disobey my parents from time to time. And when I say time to time, I mean like a lot every day. And I just got into a rhythm. And when I was a kid, I would disobey my parents. I would reject their rules. And as a result of that, I would suffer consequences personally. And I would, I'd get a spanking a lot. Every single day I got a spanking. Anybody grow up in a house where they just whooped you? Listen, my parents whooped me, y'all, whooped me. I'm 44 years old. My parents still whooped me if they could. They loved it. I don't know what it was. Now, there were times when I would, I'd get sent to my room or I'd get grounded, but 99% of the time they were just hitting me. Just whooping me, you know, I mean, they just it was it was bad, but it was good for me, right? So anyways, there were a lot of times where I would disobey my parents knowing I'm gonna get a spanking It's gonna hurt for a minute, but then it's all good after that Especially if you wear multiple pairs of underwear anybody else do that. I did that a lot But I just knew it if I disobeyed my parents rules There's gonna be a temporary consequence and then I can just get on with it I think a lot of us grew up in environments like that. And let me tell you that's dangerous When you try to bring that thought process over to how you respond to the Lord See how you respond to your parents and their rules

It may result in temporary consequences But here's what we read in this book how you respond to God and his truth Will have eternal results Not temporary but eternal in John 3 36. It says the one who believes in the Sun has eternal life But the one who rejects the Sun will not see life instead the wrath of God Remains on him. Did you catch that? He said if you believe in the Sun if you believe in the truth of God's Word, it's gonna lead to eternal life But if you reject the Son of God if you reject his truth, it's gonna lead to eternal wrath Your response to God's truth will have an eternal impact The truth is eternal It's also objective. It's universal. It's absolute and number five Truth is life-giving the truth of God's Word is life-giving You know Christians are often criticized for claiming that Jesus is the only way to heaven After all, there are billions of people around the world who Who don't know Christ people around the world that aren't going to heaven and skeptics will say, you know It's pretty narrow-minded for you to believe that all these people are going to be excluded from heaven Just because they haven't been exposed to the truth like you have They've been in a different country or a different culture where they taught a different kind of truth And a lot of people agree with that even people who claim to be of the faith In fact, I read an article written this week by a rabbi of all people that said this he said I'm absolutely Absolutely against any religion that says that one faith is superior to another I don't see how that's anything different than spiritual racism It's a way of saying that we are closer to God than you and that's what leads to hatred when people hear Jesus say things like No one comes to the Father except through me Many of them respond in a similar way They think how could one man have a monopoly on truth? How could one man claim that he alone is the only path to God and honestly?

Those who make these objections do have a point to some degree if you see Jesus as merely a man if in your mind and heart Jesus is merely a a good teacher or an oppressive rabbi or a Religious leader if Jesus is just one of many dudes who have made this claim throughout time Then yeah, they're right this claim that you're the only way that would be absolutely absurd But the truth is Jesus wasn't merely a man Listen, there's one God and there's one mediator between God and man There is one Son of God one Messiah and there's one path from us to him John 1 verse 12 says but to all who did receive him He gave the right to be children of God to those who believed in his name This says if you want to be with God forever, you've got to believe in the name of Jesus, right? Hey, the name of Jesus is different than any other name. You know why? Because Jesus is different than any other man that's ever lived on the face of the earth Hey other religious leaders were born They lived they died they stayed dead But Jesus was born of a virgin. He lived a perfect and sinless life. He died on the cross of death He didn't deserve but you know what happened three days later. Come on somebody Hey Jesus rose from the grave y'all and he's still alive today and because Jesus is alive you and I get to experience eternal life with him You can't tell me that that truth isn't life-changing that truth changed everything But not only is truth life-changing. Let me give you one more fact about truth. Are you ready? Truth is under attack Chuck Colson once said that it is the cultural crisis of our time John MacArthur says it's a frontal assault on the very person and character of God Josh McDowell says it's the last step on the road to anarchy Pope John Paul the second says it's undermining the very foundation of all morality. You say Jordan. What are these? prominent leaders talking about, let me tell you. They're talking about how our evil world is attacking the truth of God's word.

Hey, you and I live in a day where political correctness is king and truth is being silenced by the muzzle of tolerance. Hey, the world's on a mission right now to teach tolerance to the people on planet earth. Do you believe that today? Shake your head if you agree. Hey, you look from elementary school classrooms to PhD seminars and people are bombarding people with this idea of tolerance. And they're bombarding our kids right now on YouTube, on TikTok, through liberal media outlets. I'm just telling you, there is an army of people that are attacking our kids with this idea of tolerance. And if you grow up like many of us do, you're being told right now, heterosexuals ought to be tolerant of homosexuality. You're being told that pro-lifers ought to be tolerant of abortion. You're being told that Christians ought to be tolerant of all forms of immorality. And when we stand for the truth, what are we called? We're called ignorant. We're called intolerant. We're called arrogant. We're called bigots and zealots and extremists. And why? Because we believe in the word of God. I want you to hear me say this today. I believe the greatest enemy of truth is tolerance.

The greatest enemy of truth is tolerance. Have you noticed that tolerance is only being pushed in areas related to the Bible? Culture's not coming after the areas that have nothing to do with the word of God. But if the word of God says it, it's in the eye of the bullseye. Hey, there's no room for tolerance in music. I mean, I think about today, if someone in our orchestra earlier today decided that they were gonna play the song at twice the tempo of everybody else, you know what would happen? Yeldell would have freaked. He would have called a timeout and been like, no, no, no, no, no, you can't do that, man. It's sheet music. We're all gonna play the same notes, right? He wouldn't try to convince the rest of the players to just accept that person's interpretation of the tempo. He would have said, no, no, no, we're in this together. This is what it says. This is what we are going to do. There's no room for tolerance in music. There's also no room for tolerance in things like math. I look around, I see a math teacher in the room. But name any form of math. You got geometry, you got calculus, you got trigonometry. All of them require exact accuracy. Any mathematical problem is either exactly right

or it is absolutely wrong. There is no room for tolerance in the area of math. There's no room for tolerance in the area of most things. And yet Christians are being told when it comes to things like morality and righteousness and personal holiness, that we ought to be the ones to compromise what we believe and be tolerant to the culture we find ourselves in. Well, I believe when it comes to things like heaven and hell and homosexuality and marriage and abortion and pornography and idolatry, and I go on and on and on. When it comes to making a distinction between right and wrong, what we should believe and how we should think and what we should do and how we should live, I don't see this word of God being tolerant. I see the word of God being truth. And the truth that we believe is under attack. The devil's working hard, y'all. And he's working hard to convince people like you, people that you love, that we ought to reject truth. You know why? Because if you reject the reality of truth, you in essence are rejecting the reality of God. Think about it. If something is absolute, do you know what that means? It means it is free from error. It means it's flawless. It has no imperfection at all.

So to say there are no absolutes is to say there is no God, because God is the ultimate absolute. So to deny truth is to deny the person of God. You said, there's no such thing as truth. What you just said is there is no God. There's no perfection. There's no standard. And yet he says, I am truth. But not only that, to deny truth is to also deny the word of God. What did we just read? Your word is truth. So if you deny truth, you are denying the word of God. You're saying the word of God is not true. But let me give you one more if you're paying attention today, and that is to deny truth is to deny the son of God, the person of God, the word of God, and yes, even the son of God. What did Jesus say of himself? He said, I am the truth. I am the truth. Listen, today you will either believe him or you will declare once and for all that you won't. See, either Jesus is 100% true or Jesus is 100% a liar. And let me just tell you what. What's going on right now? The devil spends his days sowing seeds of doubt.

He spends his days sowing seeds of doubt in the hearts of people, hoping that you will deny Christ. Hoping you will turn your back on his word. Hoping that you will reject his truth once and for all. The question I wanna ask is this, how will you personally respond to the devil's attack on truth today? You will either be summoned by the truth or you'll be swayed by lies. This goes for every single one of us. Today, if you're listening to this message, you're gonna move one direction or the other. You will either be summoned by the truth, which means you're moving towards Jesus, moving towards his truth, believing in your heart that this is the standard for life, or you'll be swayed by lies, which means you're moving away from him. You're moving away from his truth. You believe you can determine your own truth and in doing so, you're rejecting the truth of who God is and his son and his word. Hey, my prayer is that every single one of us will move towards Jesus today, that we will move towards his truth today and experience what true freedom is all about. But you know what? I can't make you believe that. Believe it or not, there are some people who will hear this message

and they will leave this place and they will put their head right back in that yoke. And they will yoke themselves up to the sin in their life and they will choose sin and slavery and bondage over Jesus Christ and the freedom he can give. But Jesus said, today, you don't have to choose that life anymore. Today, you can be freed up. Jesus alone has the ability to what? To open this yoke, to get your fat head out of that hole and to allow you to run free once and for all. We can do that today. We can choose Jesus today. And in choosing Jesus and choosing his truth, we get to experience the freedom that only Jesus can give. Have you done that? Can you say that you're running free today? Have you not only met Jesus, but have you given your whole life to Jesus? If not, you can do that right now. Would you bow your heads and close your eyes? You say, pastor, you're talking to me. I need to move in that direction. I'm being summoned by the truth today. I don't wanna be swayed by lies anymore. Would you just pray to the Lord today and say, Jesus, I need to be saved and we both know it. And today, in the best way I know how, I turn my life to Jesus Christ

and I'm asking you to forgive me of my sins and to become the Lord and savior of my life. I'm holding nothing back, but I give you everything I have to give. Lord, I thank you for loving me. Lord, I thank you for not giving up on me, but for meeting me in this moment and still offering me freedom that I don't deserve. Lord, I believe that you are alive today and I believe you can do a work in my heart and I pray that you'll do that in this moment. May I never be ashamed, but may I stand on the truth of God's word and live my life to make a difference for God's kingdom, beginning right now in this moment. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
