00:00And this is Jesus. This is where we're starting, John 6, 35. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. Now, our problem with bread is that when we think of bread, we start here. But for the people Jesus was talking to, when he says, I'm the bread of life, their picture didn't start with pre-sliced bread in a plastic bag. Their picture started with the work of bread, the process of bread. And so when Jesus comes along, he says, I'm the bread of life. He's saying, I'm this. This is what I've gone through for you. And so Jesus is hauled off to a threshing floor, to the courtyard of Pilate, where he is whipped, where he is cut. He's taken to a cross where nails are pounded into his hands and through his feet. And then he's hung on a cross. And just before he dies, a soldier takes a spear and cuts him, slices him open. And he's placed into the fire for three days. What's amazing is when bread comes out of the fire, when it comes out of the oven, it bears the scars of its journey. And this is Jesus. You need a reminder of what he did for you.
