The everlasting Covenant was cut in the midst of the Godhead between the Father and the Son. We have a beautiful picture of this in the covenants of Abraham and David.

“And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it. Genesis 15:8 KJV

“And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.”

The “smoking furnace” pictures the Father. The “burning lamp” pictures the Son.

“When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”” Hebrews 6:13-14 NIV

You and I were blessed before we were born.

“And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed forever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.” 1 Samuel 20:42 KJV

A generational contract was cut between the Father and the Son that was agreed upon between David and Jonathan, son of King Saul. Mephibosheth, the grandson of king Saul and son of Prince Jonathan was injured and left crippled.

“And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?” 2 Samuel 9:1 KJV

“And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.” 2 Samuel 9:7 KJV

“So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.” 2 Samuel 9:13 KJV

“And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.” 2 Samuel 4:4 KJV

You and I were dropped and left crippled in sin by the first Adam. Mephibosheth was living in Lodebar (a place of no pasture) when David sent for him.

Both demonstrate the far-reaching love and unsurpassed power of the “everlasting covenant.”

“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.” Isaiah 64:4 KJV

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 KJV

The good things that God ‘hath prepared” and ordained for us are not future blessings but were created by Him “since the beginning of the world! We were blessed in Him before the foundation of the world. The word for “prepared” means “to provide or make ready; to make necessary preparations, to get everything ready.” The ideal is sending a person ahead to level the roads and make them more passable to receive one coming. Prepared is in the aorist tense which denotes a definitive point of time, especially in the past.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” Hebrews 6:19-20 KJV

Jesus was sent ahead to clear the way and to be the way (path or road) for His church, His “royal priesthood,” the “kings and priests” who follow in His steps.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 KJV

Today on Power in the Word Lucifer doesn't have any power over you in the spirit realm when you understand that you're a heavenly man. He only has power of the man of dust which is the natural man. That's why he can only deal with your soulish man. He can't deal with your spiritual man. So he can't touch you. He don't have any power over you. He can't revelate over you. He can't bring any power against you. Because greater is he. Why? Because you're not a natural man anymore. You're a spiritual man. So what does Lucifer have? He has the power to do what? Nothing. Welcome to Power in the Word. Satan, Lucifer, the devil, the powers of darkness. They all tend to bring fear to believers and unbelievers alike. Well today Dr. Norris shows us in the Word of God that Satan no longer has power over believers as a result of Christ's resurrection victory. It's a great message of empowerment. And you don't want to miss it. Stay tuned and be free from fear. We're going to talk about the way he's been prepared. Turn to somebody and say the way he's been prepared. How many of you know Jesus said I'm the way, the truth, and the life and there's no other way to the Father except through me. But listen to me very carefully. How many of you know that the enemy is truly defeated? There's only one place the enemy can fight you. He lives and moves and has his being in your soulish realm. Now listen to me. I said Lord I don't understand. If you've been defeated, if the enemy's been defeated, why are so many people struggling? He said because they don't have truth. So tonight we're going to get some truth.

Go to 1 John 3 verse 8. And we're just going to follow the Holy Spirit. We're going to see some things. And who sins is of the devil. For the devil has sinned from the beginning. Now watch this guys. So we understand that Lucifer was created to sin. Stay with me now. Stay with me. Stay with me. How many of you know that the devil has sinned from the beginning? The Bible said iniquity is found in his heart but he sinned from the beginning. So was he created to sin or was he just born a sinner? He wasn't born at all but was he created to sin? Well God created the three archangels, Gabriel, Michael, and Lucifer. But Lucifer and a third of his angels kicked out of heaven for such time in Genesis 1 and 1, Genesis 1 and 2. But for this purpose, for this purpose, for this purpose, the Son of God was manifested. Now not the Son of Man but the Son of God was manifested to do what? That he might destroy the works of the devil. Now stay with me just a minute. Don't add anything to what I'm saying because you don't know what I'm going to say. Go with me to Matthew chapter 20 verse 18. Now everyone of you believe that Lucifer has been defeated. But you can't tell me why. Jesus did it on the cross. There's more to it. And Jesus came and he spoke to them saying, All authority, all authority has been given. How many of you know that Jesus first of all was the son of David? He was from the seed of David and he was also from the seed of Abraham.

How many of you know the seed of Abraham brought him to land and the seed of David brought him to the throne? How many of you know that you're born from that same seed? Right? See if you could ever understand the seed of Abraham, you would understand your righteousness in Christ because the enemy has no power. He's not going to, he's not going to, all this stuff these people are preaching about he's coming down to earth and the devil's going to have a greater power coming at the end. That's not going to be, that's not true guys. If that's true then this scripture is not true because all authority and power has been given to me in heaven and on earth. So all power and authority has been given to him on heaven and on earth. Who's he talking about? Jesus. Okay? Stay with me. Let's go to 1 Peter chapter 5 verse 8. How many of you know that God doesn't have an enemy? Lucifer's not his enemy. Lucifer is your enemy. But he's not his enemy. He's only your enemy. Right? Be sober, be vigilant because you're at your adversary, not God's adversary. God don't have any enemies. He whipped his enemies. He put the enemy down, put him down. He nailed him to the cross by the way.

I'm going to prove that to you in the scripture tonight that Lucifer was nailed to the cross and that's where he's still at. But you're bringing him off. But the Bible said he made a spectacle of him openly. So people saw him being made a spectacle of. He had a parade. There's a parallel of a Greek word that means he had a parade before him to let him know that he'd been defeated. Right? Now watch this. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Now I want you to understand this. If he's walking around he's not omnipresent. Okay? We good? How many of you know he's not omnipresent? Let's go to Colossians 2 verse 15. Having disarmed principalities and powers he made a public, public. Public means he brought him out before everybody and everybody recognized that he'd been defeated. That was just not because Jesus was nailed to the cross. It was because Satan was nailed to the cross on the left side of him. Guys, we come on, the enemy's defeated. But if you don't know it, he's gonna continuously rule and reign, that's why we live and move and have our being in Christ, Acts 17, 28. Satan rules and reigns and has his being in your soulish man, that's the only place he can get to you. That's the only place he can get to you because you don't know who you are.

Turn to somebody and say, I'm finding out who I am. He made a public spectacle of them, triumphant over them in it. Now I'm gonna prove everything that you need to know tonight. How many of you know in Isaiah chapter 27, verse one? And in that day, the Lord with a severe sword, great and strong, will punish levitim and fleeing serpent. Now how many of you know that he will slay the reptile, or one translation says the dragon that is in the sea. Who's the dragon? Satan, right? So what's he gonna do to him? He's gonna slay him in the sea. That's not talking about he's gonna be a sea monster coming up out of the water, guys. Anytime he sees sea, he's talking about in the midst of the people. He's gonna make a public spectacle of him, and he's gonna bring him up out of the midst of the people and let the people know that he's been defeated. So he had to hang him somewhere, had to put him somewhere for him to be made a public spectacle of him. Are you good? Now I wanna show you something. I want you to go with me, I'm gonna get off my course here. I wanna go to Genesis chapter three, verse 14. And the Lord God said to the serpent, because you have done this, you are cursed above all domestic animals

and above every wild living thing of the field. Upon your belly you shall go and you shall eat dust and what it contains all the days of your life. Now do you believe that's true? Okay, let's go to Revelation chapter 12, verse nine. So the great dragon was cast out and the serpent of old called the devil and Satan who deceived the whole world. He was cast to the earth and his angels were cast with him. Now guys, this is in the book of Revelation. This is eschatology. It should be Christology. It's not eschatology, because eschatology ain't even in the Bible. When is the end of time? There's not gonna be no end of time. It's gonna be until a time. Now watch this. So he's a serpent crawling on his belly and now in the book of Revelation he becomes a dragon, the great, not just a dragon, he's a great dragon. Now where did he get legs? So where did he get his legs and how did he become something to crawl on his belly? He's a serpent and now he becomes a great dragon in the book of Revelation. He was cast to the earth and his angels were cast with him. So he's gotta be talking about Lucifer, guys. So he was cast out in Genesis one, chapter one, and Genesis one, chapter two. He was cast out and a third of his angels were cast with him.

This is in Revelation 12 and nine. He becomes a great, great dragon from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. Okay, let's go to Job chapter one. Job chapter one, verse seven. These things are just coming to me. I just got to go there. It's burning me up. And the Lord said to Satan, from where did you come? Satan answered the Lord and he said, from going to and fro on the earth and from walking back and forth. So he's been cursed and he's crawling on his belly and he's eating dust and now all of a sudden he's got legs and he's walking around on earth. Where did he get his legs? How did he become a great dragon in the book of Revelation if he's crawling on his belly and cursing, eating dust in the book of Genesis? So God's changed his mind about the situation and he's gonna turn him loose and give him all power in the book of Revelation at the end of time? Oh, guys. So we see here as he's walking around on the earth, he wasn't in heaven and earth at the same time anymore so he's not omnipresent. So Lucifer can't be messing with every one of you at the same time. Okay, let's go to Isaiah chapter 65, verse 25. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together.

You ever heard that in the end of time? The wolf and the lamb's gonna lay down together in the book of Revelation. Now guys, think a minute. Jesus is the wolf and the lamb. He's laying down in himself. The lion shall eat straw like the ox and the dust shall be the serpent's what? Now what did he tell him he was gonna do in Genesis chapter three, verse 14? He told him he was gonna do what? Eat dust, eat dust, eat dust for the rest of his life. But in the book of Revelation, now he's a great dragon. He's eating you. Let's go to first Corinthians 15, 45 through 49 and watch this now, this is good. And when God showed me this nugget right here, I just went, it lit me up, which it don't take much these days. And so it is written, the first man, Adam, became a what? Living being. And the last Adam became a life-giving spirit, 46. However, the spiritual is not first but natural and afterwards the spiritual, 47. The first man was of the earth, made of what? The second man is the Lord from heaven, 48. Remember that? Dust man is a natural man. As was the man of dust, so also are those who made of dust.

Now what's the Lucifer gonna eat? What's he talking about he's gonna eat, guys? He's not going to eat us. He's going to eat the natural man, the first Adam. He don't have any power over us because we're the heavenly being now. Somebody needs to get in this building. And so you got to understand that what he was going to do, he was eating Adam because Adam was a natural man made of dust. I mean, you're a spiritual being walking in the power of a new creation in the heavenly man. Watch this. Was the man of dust was also to those who are made of dust and as in the heavenly man also are those who are heavenly. Look at 49, this will make you shout. And as we have bore the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of a heavenly man. Lucifer doesn't have any power over you in the spirit realm when you understand that you're a heavenly man. He only has power of the man of dust, which is the natural man. That's why he can only deal with your soulish man. He can't deal with your spiritual man. So he can't touch you. He don't have any power over you. He can't revelate over you. He can't bring any power against you because greater is he. Why?

Because you're not a natural man anymore. You're a spiritual man. So what does Lucifer have? He has the power to do what? Nothing. Say nothing. Now watch this. Go me to Acts chapter 17 verse 28. I'm telling you, we are alive, man. We are more alive than we say we are. For in him we live and we move and we have our being. You understand what that means? For in him we live and move and have our being. We're a being. We're not a natural man. We're a spiritual being. We're a heavenly being. The only thing the enemy can do is touch the natural man. That's why Adam and Lucifer was on the cross side by side as the two thieves at the crucifixion. Because he was killing the old man, the natural man, and he was crucifying Lucifer and pinning him to the cross. I'm gonna prove this to you. I'm gonna prove this to you. I'm gonna prove this to you. So the only place Lucifer tries to do is he tries to live and have his being in your soulish man. Now go me to Ephesians chapter four verse 27. Nor give place. Now the word place is the word topos.

That means opportunity or territory. Don't give him any territory or any opportunity. To who? The devil. Why? Because he's defeated. The only time he can come is when you give him place, when you give him opportunity, when you give him territory in your life, in your soulish man. He can't do anything to you because he can only touch the natural man. That's why he could get the first Adam. He don't have any power over the new created creatures. Go me to Galatians chapter three verse 17 through 19. And this I say that the law, which was 430 years later, cannot, I know the covenant that was confirmed before God in Christ that it should make the promise of no effect. This is talking about the covenant that was cut with Abraham. Listen to me. The law came after that. Lucifer fell before that. The covenant was cut with Abraham after that. Listen, Lucifer could not know that covenant. Watch this, say 18. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer a promise, but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

What did Abraham, what did God do? He put Abraham to sleep and he cut a covenant. Remember the story? One represented Jesus and one represented God. And he put Abraham to sleep and then they walked between the two and cut the covenant. It was not about Abraham at all. This covenant, the promises of Jesus did not make this covenant a no. It confirmed it. Look at 19. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressors till the seed should come to whom the promise was made. And it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. What happened? Through the hand of a mediator. How many of you know the hand always represents the five-fold ministry? So it was the hand of a mediator. Jesus come who had the spirit without measure, died on the cross, resurrected, so that you and I would stand in the promise and Lucifer would be defeated forevermore. He ain't coming in a thousand year reign and ruling on the earth and tearing the world up and beating the enemies in the church all to death. And we understand why. Because he's defeated and he's under our feet, guys.

Now, go meet Luke 23. Let me show you this thing in the scripture, 23. Luke 23, verse, let's try about 42. Watch this. This is good. Now, they're hanging on the cross. There's one on, two thieves. Remember two thieves? Two thieves? Why were they two thieves, you reckon? And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. That's the one on the right. He said, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Remember me when you come into your kingdom, 43. And Jesus said to him, assuredly, I say to you today. you'll be with me in paradise. How many of you know paradise means Eden? Who got lost in paradise? Adam. He said, remember me now, remember what I used to be, and remember when you get into the kingdom, restore me back. He was talking to Adam which was on the right hand of the Father. Guys, come on now, stay with me. You got to hold on, you got to hold on, you got to hold on. I want you to go to 23 and 39, verse 39, watch this now. And one of the criminals who hanged were blaspheming and saying, if you're the Christ, save yourself and us. If you're the Christ, now who told him that? Let's go to Luke chapter 4 verse 3. And the devil said to him, if you are the Son of God, command this stone to be made bread. Who was on the left side of Jesus on the cross? Let's go to verse 13. And when the devil had ended his temptation, he departed from him for a... How many of you notice when Jesus is being tempted, he's endured with power, and then he goes out and just a little while down the road on the cross, he tempts him again. Remember? Look at

Matthew 3 17. And suddenly a voice came from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son in whom I'm well pleased with. What's the first thing the enemy done immediately after he was told who he was? Tried to make you convince him of who he won't. But what did he do? He said, uh-uh, ain't happening. I'm winning. But the Bible said he departed for a season. Remember reading it? He departed for a season. He departed for a season. But now go me to Luke 23 39 again. I'm giving you scriptures to prove this. And one of the criminals who were hanged blaspheme him saying, if you're the Christ, save yourself and get us down from here. Lucifer said, I haven't messed with you for a whole season now. I've given you three and a half years to do your thing, but now season's back now, and I'm on the cross. And if you're really the Christ, get us down. Can you imagine what you'd have done? You'd have wanted to prove who you were. See, if you know who you are, you don't have to prove who you are. You just got to let the devil know who you are. He knows when you're in the house. He knows who you are. Remember the seven sons of Sabaoth? He said, Paul, we know in Christ we know, but who in the world are you? He knows who you are. He knows when you show up. He knows when you take your place. He knows he ain't got no power over you. He knows he's defeated. Turn to somebody and say, I know it. But don't you go to Matthew chapter 27 verse 62. Watch this. This is good. The next day, which followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together to Pilate. Watch this. 63. He said, sir, we remember while he was still alive how that deceiver said, after three days I'm gonna rise. He said, you better put some big old rocks on there. If he comes up, we in a mess. Look at 64. Therefore, command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest disciples came by night and steal him away. See, they thought there's somebody gonna come and steal him. Somebody come and stole him. The Holy Ghost got him up. He's gonna steal him away and say to the people, he has risen from the dead, so the last deception will be worse than the first. Isn't that just like religious folks? Somebody's gonna come along and steal him. They're gonna say he's resurrected. 65. He said, you better put some big rocks on there. He says he's gonna get up on the third day. So put some big old rocks on there. Pilate said to

them, you have a guard. Go your way. Make it as secure as you know how. See, Pilate wasn't sure that he wasn't gonna get up. Pilate had a purpose to play in the plan, but he wasn't sure the man wasn't gonna get up. 66. So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard. But what happened? Look at Colossians chapter 2 verse 14. Having wiped out the handwriting of Acromas that was against us, which was contrary to us, he was taking it out of the way so it would no longer be in your way. The way is prepared. What did he do? Nailing it to the cross. Now watch this, guys. He's nailing it to the cross. Was it talking about him being nailed to the cross? Well, let's go to verse 15. Just so you won't say Pete said something that ain't true. Having disowned principalities, he made a public spectacle of them. Triumphing over them in it. Who's the them? Adam. Jesus. He said, guys, it's over. He's defeated. We're victorious. You said, Pastor, whoa now, whoa now, whoa now. Now I want you to get a visual picture of Adam on the cross, Jesus on the cross, and Lucifer on the cross. Only one man come off the cross. The new man, because he had fulfilled the old man, and he had fulfilled the purpose of the lost angel, and he redeemed everybody. Listen to me. Listen to me good. We got to understand that when Adam lost authority, he lost authority. He didn't lose the earth. The earth is still the Lord's, which none of the rulers of this age knew, for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. If they'd have known what? That they were going, that Lucifer was going to be pinned with him, and that Adam was going to be on the right side, and he, if they'd have known what was really going to happen, the rulers of the age knew. If they'd have known, they wouldn't have done it. Who was the rulers of the age? Lucifer thought, if I can get him on the cross, I'll defeat him. But God had another plan. Go to Romans chapter 1 verse 4. And declared to be the, remember John, 1st John chapter 3 verse 8? The Son of God come to destroy the works of a devil. The Son of Man got on the cross, and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness. How? By the resurrection from the dead. So when he died on the cross, the Son of Man died. The Son of God got up. That

revealed to everybody that Satan and Adam, Adam had been delivered, the old Adam, and Lucifer had been defeated. They were still on the cross, but Jesus come up out of death, hell, and the grave. He didn't go to the cross, to hell and preach a sermon. He went to hell and shook the keys. He said, I've got authority. I've got a power. All of y'all get up and come with me now, because I've delivered every one of you. Let me tell you something, friend. I'm gonna go there tonight, and I'm gonna come right out and split it out. If you believe that there's gonna be a tribulation, there's gonna be a rapture. If you're pre-trib, mid-trib, after-trib, post-trib, direct-trib, whatever your trib might be, trip out on your trib. But I'm telling you, Jesus has delivered us from all the tribulation. He's delivered us from the destruction. The enemy ain't coming back to have any more power, because he's deflamed him, then armed him, disabled him, and give us power and authority over the powers of darkness. We need to get out of the mentality of all this Scofield and Daugherty and all those people that are trying to preach there's a full dispensation of Christ. Let me tell you, Jesus died, he resurrected, he got up, and the devil is defeated. I'm telling you, man, we're delivered. I'm telling you, he's prepared the way. And I know that's shaking our theology with everything we got, but I'm telling you what, guys, we're victorious, and the enemy is defeated. He can't take you out. All he can do is eat the dust of a natural man. If you realize you're a spiritual man and you're a new creation, he ain't got nothing to do with you, because he's not a new creation and never will be a new creation. He is defeated. Watch this. I want to go to Colossians chapter 2 verse 15 in the Amplified, because I want you to see something here. He disarmed the principalities and powers that we arranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them in triumphant over them in him and in it, the cross. Why? Because he nailed him to the cross, and he said, I want y'all to come by and look at him hanging here, because he's defeated. And I've delivered Adam here, because he said, remember me when you come into your kingdom. He said, I'll remember to you, and today you'll be in paradise. I'm gonna restore you back to the way you were in the beginning, and

I've delivered everybody from that point to the end, from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. Everybody's delivered, come together in Christ, and because of that, the Jews are not more important than we are, the Gentiles are not more important than the Jews. We're all one, two bodies coming in one in Christ, and because of that, we're fully alive today, and we are the revelation of what has been, what will be, and whatever will be, because I'm telling you, God can only talk and deal with himself. That's why he's got you now. And so we're victorious. Turn to someone and say, I'm victorious. Now I'm going to show you one more scripture. I want you to go to Hebrews chapter 13 verse 20. And may the God of peace, who is the author and the giver of peace, who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood that sealed, ratified the everlasting agreement, covenant, and testament. Look at 21.
